[00:00:00] birth: hey what's up it's your boy birth and it's five thrift store friday yes it's five thrift store friday the happiest day of the week now i just want to let you know straight up this video was not filmed this year i'm pulling this one out of the vault it's a video i never uploaded before and you are getting a first look at it right now but let me tell you you are about to embark on a truly epic toy thrifting adventure we're going to be hunting for vintage toys and thrift stores and let me tell you i found some awesome stuff i discovered a big lot like a huge lot of in television games mint in box i found some transformers i even found star wars figures still in the box but the most epic find in my opinion was a 1989 nintendo piece i'd seen it online before but i'd never seen it in person it's not a game but it's a well-known nintendo character and i gotta tell you it had me super jazzed up in the middle of the thrift store and then like right after that i found a vintage plush from the 1980s tied to a super popular children's place think showbiz and there was a whole lot more so i'm excited i hope you're excited too if you're new here hit the subscribe button and if you've been rocking with me for a while hit the like button and let's
[00:01:42] burp: roll out looking for my name is burp and this is my turf i'm straight out of the thrift store
[00:02:08] birth: what's this thing that's kind of cool it's like you could probably paint it all white and then put your stormtroopers in there or something like that you know like a hoth a hoth battle scene like a hoth foxhole holy crap this piece of crap it's just made out of thin-ass plastic it's selling for 30 dollars a lego set called like dragon knights or something like that it's like a dragon cave it's a dragon cave for the dragon knights lego set or something but 30 bucks plus plus like 10 and 11 shipping and they want 2.99 for it damn i was gonna i was gonna paint that all white i think i'm gonna try and flip it oh look there's like an intellivision donkey kong
[00:03:02] burp: that's cool wow there's a whole bunch down here actually man i've really been attracting these and television games lately holy cow there's a few here i don't have well i ended up picking up that
[00:03:17] birth: piece of crap for two dollars and 99 cents and within a week on marketplace i sold it for 25 dollars and the best part is i didn't have to deal with shipping or any of that stuff you know or ebay fees which is one of the reasons i like selling on marketplace marketplace yes you do end up dealing with a lot of looky-loos if you will but uh but you don't have to share any of the profit from the sales with ebay so that's always nice now i did end up keeping the cib in television games so let's take a look at some of the games i actually picked up okay so i ended up getting like 17 or 18 games i spent about 140 for everything almost everything is cib except for this donkey kong cartridge but i picked this up and uh one of them one of these games oh my gosh like it was a total gem like worth over a hundred dollars just by itself it's a pretty rare game i'm going to show that to you last but let me show you what i picked up i got nba basketball and i ended up getting some of these protective cases i ordered them on ebay i still have several like this one i need to outfit it with but i got las vegas poker and blackjack by mattel electronics we've got tennis snafu so this is uh what the game looks like here on the back and uh this is what the tennis game looks like pretty archaic graphics right so i mean but that's what atari and television was and the simplicity of it is what i actually love so much about these systems math fun this one was actually worth like 25 30 bucks and i paid about seven dollars on average for uh each one of these some of them were like 10.99 some were like 4.99 so about an average of seven uh word fun this was another one that surprised me like a 25 30 and it was a regular game and i also got mouse trap and it kind of reminds you of pac-man a little bit the way it's set up so got mouse trap we've got armor battle super video arcade astro smash or ash ash yeah astro smash almost said astro mash astro smash pretty cool can't wait to play some of these uh nasl soccer kind of fun right and then we got lock and chase again kind of like a pac-manish type game and check out the cover on this one man dragon fire how awesome is that i love the metallic box as well i got a pitfall i picked up another one of these not too long ago as well and this box is actually in pretty good condition this was one of my favorite games growing up on the atari system and then we've got pga golf and we've got sea battle now i saved the best for last check this out this is amazing uh this thing sells for over a hundred dollars in the condition this one's in i could probably get 125 to 130 out of it but it's a super rare game called tower of doom very very few of them listed on ebay and uh this is actually the second one that i've owned uh when i got this one the box was in such great condition that i ended up selling my other one which the box was pretty beat on it and i think i got 80 for it and that was just recently but how cool is the cover on this thing man i just kind of want to put it on display with like my dungeons and dragons or like galaxy warriors you know those types of action figures just kind of put it on display behind them in the background but man that thing is super sweet that was that was the hidden gem out of this entire lot uh but like i said you know word fun and math fun over here some you know decently priced games 25 30 games and like i said on average i paid about seven dollars per game like i said i spent about 140 on those games the tower of dune game in the condition that one's in probably worth at least 125 and then word fun and math fun where you're looking at another total of 50 in games between the two so i'm already at 175 in value just with those three games and look how many more i got so i'm gonna have a lot of fun playing those on the old and television system and i'm looking forward to that but man we are off to a great start aren't we we like crushed it on this very first thrift store and we still got four more to hit up on today's agenda so let's head on over to
[00:08:34] burp: the next thrift store and see what kind of goodies they got that's pretty cool for two dollars and 99 cents i'll definitely pick that up too bad it doesn't have the thermos but that's a fun piece right there man i just hit like a mother load of kids toys holy cow there's a ton of them all the way up there like i mean pretty much this whole section
[00:09:15] birth: there's archie two-faced mickey d's like transformer or something
[00:09:28] Speaker 3: they want like well this bag's 2.99 so some of them are 2.99 and some of them are 5.99 like these bigger bags there's a mighty max oh no way tennessee tuxedo
[00:09:53] birth: holy cow who remembers that oh my gosh i used to watch these cartoons like on sunday mornings before church that is awesome i definitely got to get that oh and then we got hazel i used to watch this too
[00:10:11] Speaker 3: i didn't watch a lot of it but i did watch the reruns when i was a kid some sometimes not all the time it was a fun show now i have to admit this was a pretty
[00:10:24] birth: fun haul it was mostly made up of vintage mickey d's toys but who doesn't love vintage mickey d's toys so this this was fun there was a lot of fun stuff so i ended up getting the tennessee tuxedo dvd that was part of the rocky bullwinkle hour i used to come on on sunday mornings i'd get up and we would watch those cartoons before church and tennessee tuxedo and his buddy chumlee the walrus they were a staple of sunday mornings growing up so i did get that i also picked up the vintage uh disney school bus lunchbox this thing's actually worth a little bit of money even in the condition that it's in like i was kind of pleasantly surprised i think i got it for 2.99 or 3.99 if i remember but man what a great score that was and then the last thing i picked up were these uh vintage mickey d's toys so all kinds of fun stuff i think my favorites in this lot are the dinosaur changeables like the little transformers and stuff like that so i have some of the changeables i didn't actually have any of the dino versions of this line so this was kind of cool to pick up another one i really liked in this in this haul was the doc brown with the delorean from back to the future that was another fun one there's also an et in here and then there is a gummy you know the gummy bears uh what was his name tommy tommy gummy yeah so there's tommy and then we got uh dale from chip and dale rescue rangers there's just a lot of fun stuff in in this little lot but man uh again just uh you can't go wrong with vintage mickey d's they just don't make those kids happy meal those kids meal toys the way they used to man they were epic back in the day all right so we have now hit up two thrift stores we got three more to go so let's head on over to the next store and see what we can find wow look at this man we got
[00:12:41] burp: a bunch of star wars figures oh that guy's kind of cool got yoda whoops dropping stuff here oh who's
[00:12:55] Speaker 3: this guy oh he's cool too i guess maybe i'll look these up i don't collect modern star wars but they could be worth reselling oh man check that out a speed racer car you always see the mach 5 but you don't ever see this number nine car man well then what for that 4.99 yeah i'll definitely pick that up i've got some figures that will go with that oh look at this i actually found one of these before and i think i sold it for like 50 bucks or something like that they went 4.99 for it so i'll probably get it and they've got jeeper creepers 2 and this movie bats with lou diamond phillips
[00:13:51] birth: all right okay so i picked up the boba fett jetpack which sold the exact same day that i listed it on marketplace i listed it for 40 and i got 40 for it the guy came immediately and picked it up so kind of makes me wonder if maybe i should have upped the price on it a little bit and because it it went fast you know what i mean it's like one of those things like when you sell something too fast you're like i might have low-balled that a little bit so but anyway i sold that got some kiggity cash for it and then i also picked up the speed racer racer x number nine car so i've got several speed racer figures and vehicles i've got the mach 5 and the mach 6 just i love i love speed racer man there's just something about that cartoon that makes me feel good when i watch it i've got the whole complete series on dvd i have several on vhs i just i absolutely love the covers of the v8 on the vhs like it's just that art man there's just something about the the artwork on a vhs cover you know so but i did pick up the number nine car i put some batteries in it and it does work the engine fires up on it so check this pretty cool right yeah i thought so too so that's a nice little addition to my speed racer collection now the figure i had in there the racer x figure he's not really scaled to that vehicle i feel like he needs to be a little bit bigger to be like a perfect scale but you gotta admit he looked pretty good behind the wheel there didn't he all right gang we got two more stores to go so let's hit up this next one and see if we can keep the ball rolling check these out lucas collector set
[00:16:07] Speaker 3: what do they want for that 6.99 and this is from 2006 and then there's this uh empire strikes back bunch box 40th anniversary oh and here we've got the uh escape the death star action figure game comes with a couple of action figures oh everything looks unpunched it's kind of cool i don't think it's anything i want necessarily but it's kind of cool to see that
[00:16:51] birth: yeah it'd be more awesome if they actually gave luke a stormtrooper helmet now i've said this time and time again on this channel i am not a modern star wars collector i really don't even care for the modern star wars movies i'm a kenner guy i'm an original trilogy guy those 1970s and 80s star wars that's my star wars and that's really what i stick to collecting but i did pick these up to try and flip them on marketplace now i bought these last year and they're still sitting around i never got around to listing them on marketplace but now that i'm in sale mode and i've pulled these out for the show and tell i am going to list them up on marketplace this weekend so i got the power of the force board game which came with two figures darth vader and stormtrooper luke i wish they would have given luke a stormtrooper helmet to put that you could put on him it was kind of disappointing that they didn't uh the vader is actually kind of cool you can remove his helmet and if you look on the back side of him you can kind of see his bald head kind of in the in the movie return of the jedi when he removes the helmet you know you can kind of see the back of his head first uh so you can kind of see that so i thought that was some pretty cool details on it but uh yeah the board game is complete and i am going to try and sell it it's not really worth a lot of money i might get maybe 20 for it but still pretty cool and then i also got this george lucas collectus this lucas collector set i don't even really know who any of these people are to be honest with you but i saw that it was worth a little bit of money and the price was actually cheap enough so i grabbed it and i'm just gonna try and flip it you know putting that extra kick it in cash in my pockets so all right gang we have one store left to hit up and oh my gosh this man this this find had me jazzed up in the middle of the thrift store man like i was not expecting to find this and it is just so cool it's a nintendo piece and i i've seen people talk about it i've seen it in videos i've never seen it in person so it was kind of wild to find it out in the wild like this like truly in the wild at a thrift store and then i also picked up a vintage plush that i gave you a little hint at the beginning of the video which was think showbiz it's not showbiz pizza place but think showbiz check this out
[00:19:38] Speaker 3: oh wow i've never seen a partridge family vhs before that's cool wow 2.99 though damn you goodwill oh we got like a little mini mad ball guy here in this bag splash bombs i feel like that's kind of old too i might be wrong on that but i feel like that was something something from the 90s or something like that it definitely has like a 90s color scheme to it there's some sort of transformer in there i don't know if that's an older one or a new one i don't know if it's complete if it's got all its body parts this one here is missing some arms and i might have to look a little closer at it oh look at this some sort of transformer and it looks a little older too you know it almost looks like uh
[00:20:53] burp: the cat slayer from thundercats it's kind of the same colors
[00:20:59] Speaker 3: does it have like a transformer oh yeah it's got a transformer emblem on it and then there's this dude here all right let's see what do we got i guess like a cap gun or something oh look at this dude oh no way that is super cool it's the applause mario
[00:21:36] burp: he doesn't have his hat unfortunately but that is still super cool oh my god dude that is is jazz worthy he's on that jazz man he's on that jazz he's on a jazz man the jiggy jiggy jazz
[00:21:56] Speaker 3: oh look at that it looks like a vintage chuck e cheese take out a date on it uh it doesn't say but i'm pretty sure that's an older chuck e cheese and then whoever this dude is
[00:22:14] burp: on the uh on the skis hey check this out i was just looking at the tag on this thing it says chuck e cheese but it also says showbiz pizza time incorporated so yeah that's definitely an old
[00:22:30] birth: chuck e cheese plush oh my god talk about a jazz worthy score i was so stoked to find that mario and then to find the chuck e cheese and we'll take a look at them in just a minute but i found some other fun stuff while i was here and something i thought maybe you guys could help me out on the transformer uh i think it might be worth some money but maybe you guys can take a better look at it and help me out the first thing i did pick up though was this partridge family vhs this was another show i used to watch all the time this was one of those shows that i watched usually on days that i was home sick from school like it would come on in the afternoon like at like 2 30 or something like that or two o'clock uh it was like kind of on around the time gilligan's island would be on and then obviously i would watch it during the summer months when school was out but i picked up the partridge family and then i also got this i think it's a transformers voyager class skylinx now i did a little research and i think i found it on ebay and if i did if this is the correct one because i'm i know there's like different variations of it this one looks almost identical to the one i saw on ebay if not completely identical and it recently sold for like 64 so if that's the case i got a pretty good score on that but maybe you guys can take a little closer look at it and let me know in the comments below if it's actually worth about that so i think i saw some others that sold for around 50 bucks as well and then last but certainly not least let's take a look at these vintage plush how freaking cool are these guys right out of the 1980s we've got the applause mario figure from nintendo's mario brothers and what i love about that plush is he's part plush part plastic which you guys know i'm a sucker for all the time i love those kinds of plush unfortunately he doesn't have his hat if he did have the hat he sells for like 80 to 120 dollars depending on condition i think i saw some of uh some ones on ebay most of them do not have a hat and are selling for around 35 to 50 bucks again depending on condition this one here has a little bit of a of a tear on his shirt you can see there just above his wrist but overall he's in pretty good condition and i may just look around and see if i can find a hat for him now this chuck e cheese plush i was actually i didn't realize this but i guess chuck e cheese was part of the showbiz pizza corporation and that's why he has the tag on him that says showbiz pizza on it but this little dude is right out of the 1980s and i saw sold comps on him going for like anywhere between 40 and 50 i think i paid i think i paid like 10 total for both of them so they were like five bucks a piece or something like that but not a bad deal man these guys are just going to stay straight up in my collection i've seen the mario around i've seen him in other people's videos like at flea markets and toy shows and stuff like that i've never actually seen this guy in person so as you saw in the video i was uh quite surprised to see him sitting there on the shelf and like i said definitely a jazz worthy score all right gang that's all i got for you this week i hope you enjoyed watching today's video as much as i enjoyed making it for you if you did do me a favor smash the like button it helps me out it helps my channel grow i'm so close to 14 000 subscribers i'd like to hit that sometime in the next month or so so if you could help me out by hitting that like button youtube tends to show my videos to more people that like this kind of stuff when you hit the like button so also if you're new to the channel hit the subscribe button and turn on notifications because i got a lot more great adventures coming your way in fact if you want to watch more videos just like this then check out this next video
