But like I said a moment ago I never thought I'd be saying those words because I didn't think this was going to happen. This piece 53 centimeters tall 110 centimeters long that's over a meter. Like this thing is going to need some serious real estate to be able to be displayed properly. I don't think I've even got that real estate available. I will try my best but a DF module case is probably the only thing that could accommodate this. It is gigantic and that's coming from someone who's seen it in person. Like it's a sight to behold. It's incredible. It's a show-stopping centerpiece but who's got room for this? I thought we were going to get an Alien Queen diorama display base like what they did for Lizard and Sandman for No Way Home. But no no they are going all out and I'm glad they are because sometimes you need them to make something so impressive that you don't have room to display it I guess. But let me know what you think about Alien Queen down in the comments. The displayability of her I mean. Let me know if you've got room for this. The display base choice is interesting because it almost locks you into having her in a specific pose because there's one little foot attachment part of the base then a larger base with the alien egg on it. I know we glossed over the alien egg because we've already spoken about it at length in the Ripley preview video but you do get one on the base and the base itself has this alien hive look to it very at the end of the movie in the hive of that area of the base inspired and that works perfectly for Alien Queen. The only other way they could have gone is on the ship versus the power loader and you could argue because it's got that metal great look to the flooring that this is that anyway but all of the gross alien stuff means that it's probably from the hive. There is some seamlessness but I'm willing to bet that that is some sort of vinyl because they do not mention silicon and for a creature that requires some crazy engineering to be able to stand silicon just off the table entirely. A thicker sturdier vinyl like what they used for their 2.0 alien warrior not the 3.0 because that one is silicon that is probably what they've used but just to set your expectations this is not going to be the most poseable thing out there because it needs to be more rigid so it can support itself in fact it can't even support itself because there's a rod that inserts into the front of the chest area to keep this standing because it's so front heavy and the engineering required to be able to get this thing to stand I don't even know if that's possible like the animatronic or the puppet in the movie that was held up and puppeteered in a way where it was not self-supporting so expecting hot toys to make it be able to do something that wasn't even possible for the production of the film asking too much of them so yes there is a support rod which we'll get to in a moment the tail is enormous it's such a long tail and it is fully poseable it's wired this is one of those pieces where you can bake it looking dynamic like a more static batman but then the cape is wired if you know what I mean like you can have batman just standing there but then the cape is doing all the heavy lifting by blowing off in the wind and adding some visual interest some movement to the piece that is what you can do with alien queen I'm not saying she's a statue she might as well be you can move the arms you could move the legs you could move the head but all within reason because if you go too crazy if you get this thing off balance and you're trying to not use the stand which is a terrible idea then you will have a very rough time getting this thing just standing in the display but besides presence which is the number one most impressive thing about this like it's a sight to behold in person the sculpt and paint the detail the second most impressive thing here the blue it's not just one color there's lighter blue sections there's darker blue sections there's speckling there's metallic bits there's the ribbing all of the organic stuff there's a real biomechanical look that the aliens are known for that you can see very clearly on that arm there for the alien queen that was not lost due to budgetary constraints it's not like they sacrifice detail for size which we've seen some companies do this thing is impressive in every way in my opinion in terms of accessories we don't get any switch out hands but we do get a switch out lower jaw so you can have the mouth open you don't have to just rely on the articulated jaw which they also include but those teeth the translucency I think something about the lighting in their promo pics looked a little off Dean mentioned it as well but there was this orangeness to the teeth that is not there at the convention like they're just clear translucent plastic with some darker shading towards the gums and that is exactly how they should look the crown for the queen on the head sculpt is very impressive and it's detailed on the underside there's not just detail on the outside check out my sideshow booth tour for more footage of the back of alien queen but the way they had her displayed at acghk a little bit tricky to get behind the alien queen to show that detail as I said in my sideshow booth tour you can see it this is one mean looking zedoboth and I know I've already said it a few times it's huge this if someone walks into your room and looks at your display will catch their eye immediately like this is the alien centerpiece it not only doesn't get much more iconic than this it doesn't get much more impressive than this big chap impressive in his own right because he was the first xenomorph great costuming killer piece alien queen wins on size wins on detail wins on paint applications this could for a lot of people be their only one six scale xenomorph I know it's not the classic iconic shape of a xenomorph but you understand what I'm saying surely like this thing is the grail it will become the grail for the aliens line going forward and the folks over at sideshow they told us that this aliens line is just getting started there is absolutely more on the way and we've already seen a tease for hicks so fingers crossed they keep going with the rest of the marines but if you'd like to pre-order this I've popped some links to pop collectibles in the description along with the discount code Justin's collection for five percent off your order if you decide to buy from them as always do your own research make sure you're comfortable before buying are you heading down to the description why not hit that subscribe bell notification icon and join button if you like the sound of seeing your name in the end credits of my reviews like comment and subscribe we'll catch you in the next video [00:09:27] Speaker ?: you
