[0:36] it is a brand new week hello lemon heads welcome welcome welcome elimination uh did you have a
[0:42] good weekend also did you watch our sunday supper show last night it was epic it was epic
[0:48] uh i gained seven pounds this weekend i'll tell you i had an epic wedding and then i cooked shrimp
[0:55] fried rice and um beef and broccoli last night i could not believe i got on the scale this morning
[0:59] that was not i should not have done that anyhow anyhow welcome everyone make sure you hit the
[1:04] like and the thumbs up it does affect the algorithm more people become aware of our conversation and
[1:08] our channel we have a lot to get to okay so hit that thumbs up and welcome um and tell me where
[1:13] you're streaming from barack obama the former president is out sounding the alarm and if your
[1:20] reaction to what's happening to ilhan omar is i don't like her anyway then you're uh really missing
[1:27] the damn point here okay look at barack he looks good can we hear him a little bit can we turn the
[1:33] volume just a little bit i love listening to him talking about how great his buildings are how
[1:41] luxurious and how rich he is and flying around everywhere and all he had time for was celebrities
[1:47] and now suddenly he's acting like he's a populist out there man i'm gonna fight for working people
[1:53] come on man come on man that's why i like listening to him he's i mean he's the real deal come on brother
[2:00] come on man look so just saying that he's out look he's out actually defending ilhan omar
[2:09] against what is happening to her and i think more people should be speaking out about it
[2:13] because look the danger doesn't end at her front door i told you guys what happened to me this was
[2:19] more about uh the the constitution about you the first amendment freedom of the press than anything
[2:27] it's more about anything all reactions what is that up there oh i'm looking at something that's on my
[2:32] computer oh it's not on me oh there we go sorry it's just me okay so good morning elimination happy
[2:37] monday we're just 15 days away from the midterms where are you watching from again hit the thumbs up
[2:43] the button that button and keep hitting that throughout the show okay and let's get into it
[2:48] the former president barack obama is calling the trump administration's investigation of congresswoman
[2:52] ilhan omar appalling he's out speaking out he's saying it is appalling and he is right to be concerned
[3:01] federal agents searched her home and seized her phone they're investigating immigration paperwork
[3:08] dating back some 25 years now omar denies wrongdoing the administration says it is investigating
[3:15] possible fraud but obama is warning about something much bigger a president using the power of the
[3:24] federal government against somebody he has spent years attacking does that sound familiar trump spent years
[3:30] questioning whether barack obama was even born in this country and now he's going after another
[3:35] black political figure a muslim woman who has been one of his loudest critics and you don't have to
[3:41] agree with ilhan omar on one damn thing to understand why that is dangerous the fbi the homeland
[3:47] security the justice department they work for the american people they're not donald trump's personal
[3:52] security detail and where is a democratic leadership in all this where are they where's chuck sumer i'm
[3:59] looking at you chuck yes democrats have condemned the search but what are they actually doing what is
[4:07] leadership saying what are they doing how are they fighting back are they standing behind her are they
[4:12] supporting her as well as they should where are the demands for answers about the timing the evidence
[4:18] and whether politics influence this investigation gavin newsom says democrats need to fight harder here's gavin
[4:27] this ruthless i'm sorry we need to be a little more ruthless i've got to this is it and if you think
[4:42] i'm exaggerating i woke up this morning a little blurry i got in late last night three hours early
[4:47] earlier than you know 4 a.m back in my hometown and i read that donald trump wants once again arrest me
[4:55] he sent a true social he's not screwing around he's suing us on our voting rolls he's trying to quite
[5:02] literally rig the election again today in the state of california he's trying to get our voting rolls
[5:09] you can't make this stuff up look i'm gonna say this donald trump is a goddamn fool not god got that's
[5:20] how i said god damn fool he's a fool and listen everybody who's in office trump on down democrats
[5:28] everybody you took an oath to defend the constitution and sometimes that means standing up when it is
[5:33] uncomfortable that is the job so democrats stand up you don't have to agree with her you say well i
[5:42] don't know what's in the investigation come on you know the timing here you know in 2019 she was cleared
[5:48] of all this this is a vendetta this is to sully her reputation and to try to win her state that's what
[5:56] this is and to try to make democrats look bad it's it's obvious so democrats stand behind her republicans
[6:05] would do the same thing maggot does the same thing they don't care they're standing behind a man who
[6:09] has 34 criminal counts who is found guilty and and is guilty of other things and in a civil court you
[6:16] know what happened yeah sexual abuse and sexual assault of a woman guilty and then defamed her guilty
[6:29] and then there's homeland security secretary marquane mullen instead of acting like a cabinet secretary
[6:35] he is out here auditioning to be donald trump's attack dog he is talking about using rico that's the
[6:41] stuff they use for the mob rico the federal racketeering law in the omar investigation rico
[6:47] the law prosecutors have used against organized criminal enterprises listen to him especially
[6:53] what he says about the the time limit on the prosecution here it is we had a judge sign it
[7:00] and we expect to be able to take the case to a grand jury but i will tell you we wouldn't move forward
[7:05] and president trump didn't want to move forward either unless we knew that it couldn't be politically
[7:10] driven now they want to try making it political driven uh this individual wants to try making it
[7:14] about them about about uh about their selves this is this was about enforcing once again our nation's
[7:20] laws and it's a strong case hypothetical oh that that's that's good to hear hypothetical moving forward
[7:27] if a foreign war lowered uh from a failed state uh that is it part of a genocidal government that gets
[7:35] displaced and has a daughter and wants to move to america as a refugee would is that something that
[7:40] would be able to happen so and let's just say if someone comes in and claims uh that fills out their
[7:48] paperwork illegally and they claim uh that they are this person and this is their background and then
[7:54] underneath that individual a lot of other people come in and i'm just saying hypothetically across a
[7:59] whole bunch of cases that's out there then that's that can be considered a rico case right because
[8:04] there was conspiracy that was to deceive the american government okay and therefore everything
[8:09] i've heard enough i've heard enough i've heard enough and look at where he is he's on a very
[8:13] partisan right leaning conspiracy theorist uh q anon show this is the former this is the guy who took over
[8:21] for charlie kirk after charlie kirk was was killed now you can investigate suspected fraud but talking
[8:27] about rico on a podcast doesn't establish that somebody actually committed a crime at all especially
[8:32] considering the podcast that you're on didn't go i didn't see any legitimate news organizations that
[8:37] he went to where's the evidence where are the charges and why is a cabinet secretary discussing
[8:41] potential prosecution of one of the president's biggest political enemies in public on a podcast
[8:47] and then tom holman comes along saying investigators have a strong case here's tom holman clear and it
[8:55] wouldn't be investigated and they are investigating it i'm not going to get ahead of you know the bureau or
[9:01] or uh hsi but you know i've been told to have a strong case and uh we'll let the evidence lead
[9:07] where it leads but she'll be held to the same standards you and i are held if she violated law
[9:12] then she bell accountable now the interesting thing for me is that they want her to be prosecuted for
[9:18] violating the law but they don't want donald trump to be prosecuted for violating the law they also
[9:22] don't want him to serve time for violating the law or suffer the consequences right because he became
[9:28] president but still guilty of 34 counts if you have got such a strong case then prove it instead
[9:33] of going on tv or on friendly fox and then the other right-wing podcast and while you're at it
[9:41] explain why you're talking about taking away this woman's citizenship according to the reports
[9:46] investigators even went through garbage looking for possible dna evidence involving omar's family
[9:52] before searching her home what does that have to do with something that allegedly happened 26 years
[9:56] ago we're talking about a sitting member of congress weeks before an election as i've been telling you
[10:03] guys the process is the punishment here they don't care they just want to make her look bad there's an
[10:09] election they want to win and he hates her he says go after her and him he said donald trump's saying
[10:15] oh i don't have anything to do with it you know that's a damn lie meanwhile the wall street journal
[10:19] reports that people inside trump's own administration are lining up lawyers in case democrats take congress
[10:25] and start investigating oh now everybody's worried about investigations right now that's people are
[10:30] worried now cabinet secretaries and staffers reportedly preparing for subpoenas documents testimony
[10:36] under oath now i want you to imagine that the possibility of having to answer questions under oath
[10:43] has suddenly gotten everybody's attention and if democrats take control i expect them to follow the
[10:49] evidence too no manufacturer cases no political revenge but they should be strong and they should not
[10:55] be afraid to go after people who went after people because of political reasons that is the standard
[11:03] whoever's in power and that is obama's warning you can dislike ilhan omar until the day is long that is
[11:12] your prerogative that's your business you can vote against her you can challenge everything that she says
[11:17] and i show she will agree with me i'm sure she would want you to vote for her but if you don't like
[11:23] her you don't like her policies okay that's a whole nother thing but your constitutional rights
[11:27] cannot depend on whether donald trump likes you or he has a political vendetta because one day the
[11:32] government may come knocking on somebody else's door and that door may be yours that somebody might be
[11:39] you now speaking of people who know how to get answers my next guest has spent decades getting
[11:47] people to tell him things that they probably should have kept to themselves secrets that they should have
[11:52] kept and maury i have to tell you washington could keep you in business for another 30 years absolutely
[12:04] maury before he became a talk show legend he was a newsman and now he is back with season three of on
[12:10] par with maury povich launching today his guests include nick cannon leila joe uh how do you say that
[12:20] manager how do you say that man janelio joe manganelli right joe manganello uh harlan cobin
[12:29] and my good friend dl hugley the legendary marvin maury povich joins me now maury good morning to you
[12:37] you're all fired up don i mean i i am fired up i'm a little bit like every day yeah what do you mean
[12:43] you can find great material every day you know as a newsman it used to be difficult you'd have to go
[12:50] through and wade through the stories and now they just kind of come to you and there's so many of
[12:55] them because there's so much i will say malfeasance or so much bs that they put out uh and as you know
[13:01] i'm sure you know who steve bannon is steve bannon is a republican now he's not happy with the trump
[13:05] administration and he's going to vote for a democrat for the first time ever maybe um and he says at the
[13:10] beginning of this he said the strategy was to put out a fire hose of bs every single day and that seems to
[13:16] be happening and it's infecting the american public and also um the news do you disagree with that
[13:24] no not at all i i just love the fact that you wake up on a monday morning and you have five
[13:31] 1 a.m 2 a.m 3 and 3 a.m true socials i love that when this guy is uh putting out all kinds of stuff
[13:39] early in the morning do you think i believe this i think that some by the way before we get into that
[13:46] yes sir look you did a show for a long time in new york you live in new york yeah did you know
[13:53] trump before he became president i did i didn't know him well but i did know him i knew and i knew
[13:58] of him from being i've been uh i've been a full-time new yorker since the early 90s and before that i
[14:03] would come and house sit for my aunt in the summers in the 80s uh high school and then early college so
[14:08] years years ago when i was doing years ago yeah when i when i was doing a current affair i mean these were
[14:14] were the we were in the same building remember i worked for the 10 o'clock news right and you
[14:19] worked for a current affair right channel five and so uh you had you you you got to realize in the late
[14:25] 80s donald trump was on the cover of the new york daily news in the new york post every single day
[14:34] with the marla maples ivana trump all that going on and so uh donald's been uh you know tabloid
[14:42] uh fodder for for so many years and quite frankly i don't recognize the guy who i knew in the 80s
[14:53] don't know i don't either look um not to i mean people thought he was they didn't take him seriously
[14:59] as a politician they just thought he was given as a new york character right and some some people
[15:04] thought he was kind of a clown but he was always in the tabloids he's always on page six he's in the as
[15:09] you know as you said the new york post or new york magazine or whatever it is or in the
[15:13] uh what was it called not gotham but the observer was it the new york observer i forget what it was
[15:18] yeah yeah which by the way ended up being owned by jerry kushner yes true that um and so you're right
[15:27] and i wonder if it's because and then so he that he sort of that's how he got into the ecosystem the
[15:32] media ecosystem and then came the apprentice but and now president but i think that we many of us many
[15:39] americans have become inured to it uh inured to it and i'm wondering have we gotten so accustomed to
[15:45] trump's behavior that the media is losing the ability to explain just how serious some of this
[15:50] stuff is more well it depends on it depends on on what particular media you go to i mean if you if
[15:58] you're going to the uh traditional media of the journal the the wall street journal new york times
[16:03] washington post those uh outlets uh you're getting a pretty fair description of what's going on uh i
[16:10] i think quite frankly uh the broadcast networks and cnn uh are playing it fairly straight uh you've taken
[16:20] a completely different approach i mean you you are what is called an independent journalist and there
[16:25] are what dozens of you uh that are now i mean i don i watched you and tim last night two hours of
[16:38] you making a sunday meal and i'm looking there you got 150 000 people watching you make a meal i mean
[16:48] beef and broccoli and uh uh shrimp fried rice i mean think about it yeah well it's what the people want
[16:57] and here's the thing though you know how they say so we don't we don't always do it maury but you know
[17:03] they say sometimes uh a little bit of sugar helps the medicine go down sometimes yeah but or a little
[17:10] bit of starch and fat and salt but and and and shrimp and beef but um sometimes we do talk about stories
[17:18] that are in the news issues politics or whatever and we just discuss them as people are discussing them
[17:24] as at home i'm sure as you and connie are in your kitchen or at your dining table discussing issues
[17:31] where you talk about them as a couple and many times we don't agree or we do agree but i think it
[17:36] shows people how you know that i am a normal person news people are normal people and that we have
[17:43] discussions and we come to conclusions about things just the way many folks do except we have
[17:47] producers right and we're maybe a little bit more into it but i look it's a different time right now
[17:53] and i think that i can give a point of view um as an independent person and sometimes it it penetrates
[18:00] not sometimes i think a lot of the time it penetrates more than traditional news i don't know if that's
[18:05] good or bad but i think it's good well the good news is that you have more time to do it you know most
[18:12] shows don't uh they don't they don't have an hour or a half an hour on uh various subjects during the
[18:21] day it's you know it's 10 minutes for this story five minutes for that still you know how it is on
[18:28] on uh traditional uh news outlets they're always giving you the rap sign keep on going let's go to
[18:35] the next subject they say this is a six minute segment we're producing this is an eight minute
[18:40] segment we're going to go long this will be not this will be eight minutes we're going to go long
[18:44] and then by the time it's like they're like rap rap rap got to get to the break got to pay the bills get
[18:48] to the break get to the break rap yeah but you know i i i watched something yesterday i believe
[18:53] it or not i don't know about you i i watch these polls every single day in terms of hit uh trump's
[19:01] approval what's happening in each state uh i i'm frank luntz you know who frank luntz is right of course
[19:08] i know frank yeah okay uh i think frank is a long time pollster uh fairly conservative but um but
[19:15] pretty much a straight shooter yeah but he he was making a great point the other day about polls
[19:20] and why it's very difficult to rely on polls every week before an election he says because the most
[19:30] important question is not being asked and that is it's not who you want to vote for are you republican
[19:39] are you a democrat are you an independent it's the questions that should be asked are are you going
[19:45] to vote yeah how uh are you are are you lackadaisical about voting are you sure you're going to vote not
[19:55] who you're going to vote for because knowing going to vote is the most important issue in the election
[20:05] you know what maury i'm out there all the time i'm sure you see if you if you're watching the cooking
[20:09] show then you're seeing my man on the street interviews yeah i am i learned so much from people
[20:15] as you did when you sat in that studio and you talked to real people right right i gotta tell
[20:20] you just as this is a real moment if you'll if you allow me sure so tim and i um went to a wedding
[20:26] in hershey pennsylvania right and i you know you know the hershey thing it's like the whole town is
[20:31] hershey and everything but we got a little bit outside um and we had uh range anxiety because we've
[20:37] gotten this electric car and we're looking for you know a place to plug in we're like oh my god
[20:42] we need a station right oh my god we got to three percent on a battery that has never happened and
[20:46] talk about anxiety on the interstate and trucks are fast and you're like oh my gosh we got to get
[20:50] there but we sat there and charged and watch the people walk around and we were outside of our our new
[20:57] york you know city city urban bubble and we realized again not that we're unaware of it but like
[21:03] how much we live in a bubble and so i love to get out and talk to people from all stripes of
[21:09] of life and just this is just a real observation we i i sat there and there are people you know with
[21:15] different kinds of cars electric they had their dogs coming in um there was a lady who you know
[21:21] was an amputee who walked in and talked to me for a little bit um guy working in in the in the thing
[21:27] talked to me for a little bit and then we saw guys coming over on their lawnmower right getting gas at
[21:33] the gas station and it was just an interesting slice of life something that you would never really see if
[21:39] you just live in a bubble in new york city or la or chicago or whatever it is and so that's why i
[21:44] get out and talk to people and what i have noticed is that um there's a real issue and i talk about it
[21:49] in my newsletter this morning there's a real issue with these candidates with the voters who are the
[21:53] backbone of the party and especially this is just me when i talk to men in general and black men they
[21:59] feel like the democratic party is not really looking out for them whether that's real or not
[22:03] that's how they feel so i'm not saying it's real but that's how they feel and i think that that
[22:08] needs to be addressed in this moment and it's not particularly i don't believe that it is
[22:14] specifically being addressed among the candidates right now that's my thing do you do you get the
[22:19] feeling that uh and you would know better than i when it comes to black men particularly that they
[22:26] haven't been galvanized uh since obama uh yes i do believe that and i do believe it is um as much as
[22:36] i really like obama and admire him um i do believe it that people don't feel again whether it's real or
[22:42] not that it happened they feel that he didn't do enough for their community they feel that the party is
[22:49] doing more for women and lgbtq community and other um and other minorities or other folks more than
[22:56] they're doing for men and black men that's that's what the problem was and it's and it believe it or
[23:04] not it it is with every president when you get to the last two years of a second term you're not going
[23:12] to be able to get anything done you just can't i mean you're over you're lame duck halfway through your
[23:19] second term i mean if you don't get something done in the first year of your second term i mean think
[23:25] about it right now with trump you know he gets his you know so-called big beautiful bill done last year
[23:33] he's toast from now on other than these other than these silly uh uh announcements that he makes
[23:40] every other day about ridiculous what he's going to do ridiculous so look um i love having this come i
[23:48] could we could talk all day you guys want to hear us well i mean i i mean i go so far back don i'm
[23:54] you know i started uh covering news in 1962 1963 and yeah uh uh my first big assignment on radio for
[24:09] radio news in 1963 was martin luther king is giving his classic speech at the lincoln memorial and i am on
[24:19] the other end all the way down at the monument grounds i am covering the illustration by the
[24:26] american nazi party led by george lincoln there are all of 10 american nazis uh and about 50 cops and
[24:35] that's as i hear the loud speaker speech of martin luther king that was my first big story my second big
[24:44] story was at andrews air force base on november 22nd 1963 when jackie kennedy comes back in air
[24:54] force one with that bloody pink suit and her husband's coffin is in the back of the plane
[25:02] that will those two stories to me and this is 60 70 years later 60 some years later memorable i mean
[25:15] stuck in my mind i i can tell you the exact what the temperature was i can tell you uh all kinds
[25:22] every single little morsel of that event is in my memory 60 some years later wow maury what a wealth
[25:33] of knowledge that you've had in the history that you've had and look when i was on your show we
[25:37] discussed you talked about me making the pivot yeah but you you you were the example you made the pivot
[25:45] you went from news yeah right to i mean i guess you could it's entertainment news and some people
[25:50] call it tabloid news tabloid tabloid tabloid journalism but look it became the thing that was
[25:56] a whole thing and then you went from that you did your talk show and now you've gone to podcasting
[26:01] one has to look at that handsome face with that beautiful lady right there wow can you can you imagine
[26:06] that i was their second banana for a moment doing news in la in 19 what year was that 19 is that how you
[26:15] guys met no we met this is a great great story with connie i'm i'm i grew up at channel 5 in
[26:23] washington which is now the fox station and uh that was my first tv job and wttg that's right and so i
[26:31] was doing a local uh talk show called panorama which was a big time kind of a news and i was doing the
[26:37] sports at night and i was anchoring the news on the weekend and i was kind of a local whatever you know
[26:43] not star maybe half a celebrity and so in 1969 the news director mike buchanan who ended up being a
[26:51] great crime reporter mike hires this assistant of his right out of the university of maryland her
[26:56] name was connie chung nobody paid any attention to her but about six months later the first job
[27:02] that opens up is a weekend writing job and connie wants the job and she goes to mike and says i want
[27:07] the jobs i said you're my assistant you're my secretary you know no no no no i want the job that you know what
[27:12] i want to be i want to be a journalist well you have to you have to replace yourself connie walks
[27:17] out of the newsroom across the street into the bank gets the first woman teller says to the woman teller
[27:25] be in tv she says yeah come with me walks her down into the newsroom gets to mike buchanan and mike
[27:32] buchanan says okay you've replaced yourself now you can have a job and that's when we first took notice
[27:41] of the indefatigable connie chung connie chung and yes we meaning you yeah and i i've been mr chung
[27:49] since 1984. i think you are you you're okay with that right oh my gosh i mean i can every all of my
[27:59] success in national television came after i i married this woman i i guarantee you that she uh set the
[28:08] table for me or i would have you know i would have probably been out of tv news by the time i was 50.
[28:14] yeah someone said connie has always been that girl uh marie and connie been baddies about yeah but the
[28:21] other one said you guys were baddies connie has always been that girl and then there's yeah that's
[28:26] a great story uh look let me let me let me ask you this sure since you since you have all of this
[28:31] experience you have interviewed some world-class folks if you want to say uh people who try to dodge
[28:38] questions right how do you pin someone down like a donald trump who refused to answer the questions
[28:46] straight and then back in the day nobody would even think about saying you're fake news you're whatever
[28:51] just insulting a reporter like that what would you do how do you do first of all let me say this about
[28:57] fake news you know he says fake news all the time every single leak from within the white house they
[29:06] leak to the fake news they don't leak the breitbart they leak to the fake news if they want something
[29:15] really out there as to what they think is legitimate news i mean that's the irony of it all i think more
[29:22] than anything else when when people talk about something people i think you use their own words against
[29:29] them and that's why that's i think how the the best way uh to approach an interview and uh because
[29:40] sooner or later most people are going to say something that either they don't admit to or they
[29:47] change their minds later on and and talk about something else so i i believe you use their words
[29:53] what they say uh in in order to get the best kind of interview yeah look people are loving this if
[30:00] you're loving this please make sure you hit the thumbs up like and thumbs up because maury as you
[30:04] know you're in this thing it affects the algorithm more people become aware of us and when you do that
[30:08] am i right you gotta do it you gotta say i'll put uh put out one promo so today season three of on par
[30:16] starts and my first guest is another youtube sensation like you his name is kareem rama oh yeah kareem uh he does
[30:28] uh this called uh uh subway takes and the other one is keep keep the meter running and he's got a
[30:38] whole new season coming so uh kareem is my first guest today starting today yeah subway takes is very
[30:44] similar to the man on the streets uh that we do and sometimes we do our our sometimes our man on the
[30:49] streets are men men on the subway i should say man and woman are people on the streets because they're
[30:53] women you ever worry about getting on the subway no i mean i am aware uh when i get on the subway
[31:02] the thing is is that i try to i try to be a little incognito with a hat oh really yeah the thing is
[31:08] because it's kind of crazy maury i got to tell you this 100 look when i was on cnn of course people
[31:14] recognize me all the time um and usually it's like if i'm in a suit or something they would recognize
[31:20] more than than without but now since i'm like this i'm more recognizable as me dressed casually and
[31:28] so sometimes i'll get on the subway and someone will go and i'll say yes and then they say oh i want
[31:33] a selfie and then the whole thing starts like the cart like running yeah and so that part is so i i i'm
[31:39] more recognizable now than when i was on uh cnn and from a younger yeah and from a younger demographic it's
[31:46] really it's the look the audience is on social it's on digital mari you're in the right place
[31:52] so let me ask you this then because you've worked with again in this business for a long time let's
[31:56] talk about katie zachariah ah right um she lasted all of five days as a white house precursor now you've
[32:03] had press secretary you've had guests spend longer than that waiting for dna results what did you make
[32:10] of that whole fiasco disaster well uh as soon as i saw her in that first nine minutes uh reading
[32:22] all of this stuff about promoting the trump agenda and promoting trump and promoting and this halting
[32:29] reading i said oh not much preparation here it's not does it sound like she spent a lot of time or
[32:38] somebody really schooled her on what this was all about i mean my first press secretary that i covered
[32:46] was pierre salinger uh john f kennedy's press secretary in 1963 and and starting a little bit
[32:53] with johnson and then he left in 64. uh i mean these people were so prepared and on top of that if you're a
[33:04] really good press secretary you have great relationships with those people who are asking
[33:12] you questions because it's a symbiotic relationship you need them as a press secretary and they need you
[33:21] and if if you're a good press press secretary the best thing about you and in terms of your knowledge
[33:32] you have to remember you know more about what they want to ask you than they do you have more knowledge
[33:41] than they do so make sure that you come off as an as a knowledgeable person who knows more than the
[33:50] person who's asking you the question okay mari i need you to stand by because we're going to hear from
[33:56] mari coming up in a little bit um about uh kimberly guilfoyle that controversy and also his new podcast
[34:04] season three and believe me he knows a thing or two about messy family revelations okay so first a
[34:10] word from our sponsor and then we're back with maury this episode is sponsored by better help if you've

[34:36] have to recognize when your mind needs some attention too okay we just had world mental health day but
[34:42] stress doesn't care about what day it is right neither does burnout and you don't need some enormous
[34:48] crisis to talk to somebody if you've been waiting to start therapy better help works with more than 125

[35:12] i want to tell you about a woman named tika she is a health care provider in nepal and when she goes
[35:19] to work she puts contraceptive implants iud's pills pregnancy tests and medical supplies into a backpack
[35:26] then she walks sometimes for hours through the mountains to reach women who otherwise might never
[35:32] get reproductive health care can you imagine for some women getting to a clinic means losing a day's
[35:39] wages finding someone to watch the kids or traveling farther than they can afford so tika brings the
[35:44] care to them and when she arrives that backpack becomes a health care center here's what amazes me
[35:51] just five dollars can provide a woman with contraception for an entire year five dollars so you can help
[35:57] one woman right why not help a dozen go to msi unitedstates.org or text lemon to 511 511 that's m as in

[36:30] i'll smoke connie chung tonight i heard your podcast the other day you did 10 minutes on sneaks i got some
[36:38] new things here see this is the hottest new maybe for white people i don't know yes do you keep your
[36:45] glasses on when you do it nope oh i don't think in all my years i've ever had my glasses on i'm in
[36:52] pursuit of a good show that's what i'm talking about yo i'm sitting here with maury and he said
[36:57] you'd love to meet you uh maury say something in the background anthony you aren't the father
[37:01] maury that's great that was the best thing that people wanted to hear from you you are exactly
[37:14] yeah father by the way when i was on the show why did i should have gotten that clip you taught me how
[37:19] to say it do you remember that yeah yeah the inflection and the inflection you are you are
[37:24] the father you are the father the father yeah yeah so let's i want to talk about your show uh season
[37:31] three launches today and i want everybody by the way uh soon up is going to be your dear friend dl dl
[37:40] yeah i had a great time with deal is it brilliant brilliant funny you know i do a tour with him we
[37:46] we do a road show where we go out we're in philadelphia this past week in chicago uh coming up
[37:52] uh a week from uh this weekend this next weekend so we're going to be in chicago but look i want to
[37:57] talk to you after you can you tell me um about this kimberly guilfoyle thing have you have you
[38:05] discussed have you thought about this i think that look obviously what she did is bad how what she's
[38:11] accused of doing however i think that they're putting her up there as a distraction if you look
[38:15] at all the other things that's happening with the family and making money off of the presidency and
[38:19] donald trump and all the other things and and those things i mean what what she's accused of doing
[38:24] is you know just enough to be a distraction in the news i believe yeah but but i think more than
[38:30] anything else you have to remember this is uh former donald trump jr's fiance fiance fiance and uh all of a
[38:42] sudden she's not the fiance and he's holding hands with the woman he ends up marrying thanks to the
[38:49] russian oligarch uh and so uh they basically you know send her to siberia and to them it was greece
[39:00] and so and the problem is she's not going to go quietly apparently she walks in to give her
[39:08] credentials to the president of greece in kind of a sheer dress where you can see through and so
[39:16] from the get-go and she's partying apparently she's going out clubbing in greece till like 3 a.m
[39:23] all the time and well it's just i mean it's a beauty yeah when in greece though my question to
[39:30] you is that you've handled some brutal family disputes how's that for getting disowned on
[39:35] national television at first he said kimberly i love kimberly and then he's like i didn't really
[39:39] know her that well she wasn't a member of my family yeah it's crazy right sure i mean first of all she is the
[39:48] number one uh advertisement for cosmetic surgery that's the first thing and so uh she is out there
[40:00] and and they think that she's in siberia that she can't do any harm anymore and then all of a sudden
[40:07] this stuff shows up and and in a bad week she just made it worse for trump i mean this is the same week
[40:16] that the uh zachariah thing happened that this is the same week that he's got all these bad poll
[40:21] numbers i mean it's it's a bad week for trump and and all of a sudden they're showing empty empty uh
[40:29] seats at his at his uh big rallies in various red states and so it's uh yeah it's just another bad
[40:38] week for the president so mari you got comedians you got actors right you talked to my friend dio
[40:44] hugley you have best-selling author you have a boxing champion this season is there anybody who
[40:50] so far surprised you the most what should we expect how are you gonna you know every season you gotta
[40:55] you know you gotta yeah yeah you gotta i know uh i'm uh i'm looking forward to uh you know who i'm
[41:04] going to talk to he doesn't know my questions yet you know there's a great hall of fame baseball
[41:10] player named dave winfield and he's just written a book and he's he's a terrific it's very interesting
[41:18] he's the only person in the history of sports to be drafted by four professional teams while he was
[41:28] in either high school or college two uh nba aba basketball teams the the the minnesota vikings
[41:36] football team and the san diego padres baseball team and he's the only person in the history
[41:42] of sports who is uh drafted by 14. so i'm i'm interested in seeing him and we have uh you know
[41:50] that's best it's it's like with you don i mean i saw you you had john boltney on the other day the
[41:55] former uh un ambassador uh you you have people like me i i love the cross-section don't you i i love
[42:03] the fact that you talk to that i can talk to comedians and i can talk to news people like
[42:08] yourself and i can talk to actors i mean i it's no matter what i've done all my life and all the
[42:17] stuff that you've mentioned it there's one common thread i'm a storyteller the same way you are
[42:24] that's what it is and i think that's what good journalists are yeah look i'm a storyteller and i also
[42:30] like to think of myself maybe i'm wrong you are this as well i'm a good conversationalist i don't
[42:35] like to interview people right like interrogate them i like you want to talk to them you want to
[42:40] convert yes yeah and you can get the same answer out of people without being an ass that you know
[42:47] without like and you did this and what happened you can say you know what i'm i've been always
[42:51] trying to understand why someone as smart as you especially about whatever how could you get
[42:57] yourself involved in this situation and you get the same if not a better answer than when you
[43:01] interrogate someone you know what i mean yeah it's it's it's my best thought about talking to someone
[43:09] is when the guy says or the woman says you know i've never talked about that yeah i love it yeah
[43:17] that's when you're a winner and america loves you okay so season season three if i can get my new teeth to
[43:23] work right of on par with maury povich launches today wherever you get your podcasts so make sure
[43:32] you tune in maury always a pleasure come back soon okay congratulations to you and the fact that we can
[43:38] spend all this time together and i haven't asked you one question about your trial not one i'm glad you
[43:47] did because i know as much as you do um which isn't very much you have any advice for me i know you
[43:52] watch the cooking show you watch the show i know that you're a watcher and you watch the special
[43:56] media my as my father would always say when it comes to somebody who who accuses you of things
[44:02] truth wins the truth wins thank you maury okay uh look this administration is producing enough
[44:09] family drama to keep us all both busy maury povich and me so our thanks to maury povich make sure you
[44:15] check out season three of on par with maury maury povich uh starts today okay so let's move on as
[44:21] he said we are we you know we get a variety around here so now next this morning 15 days until the
[44:28] midterms okay and democrats if your entire campaign is donald trump is terrible you'd better have
[44:34] something else to offer i'm telling you old people be knowing as i say and i'm sure maury would agree
[44:39] will agree with me because being disgusted or disgruntled with donald trump doesn't automatically
[44:45] make somebody excited about voting for you look at michigan for example okay so this is uh i'm going
[44:52] to talk about abdul el-said this is him let's see abdul el-said here abdul el-said uh you know liking
[44:59] somebody i met him just a couple weeks ago here not i met him on the show but i also met him in person
[45:05] just a couple weeks ago i think we have a photo of him do we have the photo of me and el-said he was
[45:10] here in new york so but the thing is is that somebody liking you doesn't mean giving him a pass
[45:17] he needs black voters in detroit and he can't assume that they're going to show up just because
[45:22] he is a democrat black voters are the backbone of the party don't wait until you need our votes to
[45:29] remember that we exist and i'm talking about not just abdul el-said but i'm talking about all
[45:34] of the candidates and don't lecture us when we tell you that we feel ignored okay listen to us
[45:41] listen barack obama showing up does help other big names help but obama isn't on the ballot el-said is
[45:48] talarico is angie nixon's on the ballot and he's the one who needs to convince people that he's going to
[45:53] deliver for them so look i've been as maury talked about the polls i saw you guys in the comments saying
[45:59] um don't look don't believe the polls the polls can have been very unpredictable right now but you
[46:06] know it's become it's look whether you like it or not the prediction markets have really um become more
[46:12] accurate than the polling many times i've been looking at the polling in michigan and i've been
[46:17] checking out the prediction markets as well even like let's set for example over at cal sheet they've
[46:22] got abdul el-said at 69 and mike rogers is at 33 okay and that's a senate race there 69 and 33
[46:32] now those aren't poll numbers that's where the prediction market stands right now and it can
[46:37] change we're just two weeks out and this is one of those races that i'm going to watch very closely
[46:41] you can follow it if you want to follow it at calc you can calc.com or their app and you don't have
[46:46] to trade anything okay so but here's the thing those numbers don't get anybody to the polls el-said
[46:54] still has to earn those votes okay you can take that down and while he does and while he does he
[47:00] shouldn't have to defend his right to belong in this country every time donald trump opens his mouth
[47:05] i want you to listen how the president talks about him watch it's so crazy he's as bad almost as
[47:15] mohammed abdul el-said you know i took a lot of heat for calling him mohammed and i said i don't care
[47:25] i'm the president of the united states i can call you whatever the hell i want i can call you i want
[47:37] mohammed and then today a guy sends me something his name is actually abdullah it's abdullah
[47:48] ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba mohammed i'll say that so his middle name is mohammed so i was right almost
[47:55] come on now come on now do i have to say anything that is pure racism from the president of united
[48:08] states i can tell you whatever the hell i want no no no no no no you can disagree with the man's
[48:14] politics you can criticize his proposals the same thing that i said about ilhan omar you don't have to
[48:19] agree with her you can campaign against him but why are you so obsessed with making his name and
[48:27] his religion sound foreign he's an american running for the united states senate and if republicans think
[48:32] that this is funny then explain the joke what's funny about treating somebody's religion like a
[48:39] reason to distrust him okay who okay el-said's policies are fair game his record is fair game his name
[48:51] and his fate aren't scandals and now somebody new is going to have to stand at that white house
[48:57] podium and explain trump's latest performance which brings us to the race to replace katie zachariah
[49:04] i want to bring in our white house correspondent our washington dc correspondent daniel grimes and
[49:10] daniel joins oh daniel wait i thought you were at the at the capitol because well at the white house
[49:15] because that's where this that's where these people want to be you have la loomer you've got george
[49:20] santos reportedly throwing their names into the mix really far right provocateur and a convicted felon
[49:27] is it serious that is right don i'm heading over there and actually an hour because president trump
[49:32] is going to be heading out of the white house so i'm going to hope to ask the president a question
[49:36] uh we can see if we can get another question with him but you're right laura loomer george santos
[49:44] threw their hat into the ring to replace katie zachariah as white house press secretary in fact
[49:50] and i sent it to our producer i'm not sure if we have it but george santos actually put out his plan
[49:57] of how he would navigate the position if he's chosen if we have it can we put that up he said on
[50:01] day one he would meet with every person every reporter covering the white house uh just to make
[50:08] sure he established those relationships uh there it is and then oh that's a picture of george santos and
[50:14] then after meeting with every person he would make sure that he builds those relationships but if you
[50:19] publish what he called fake news then you would be barred from the white house of course the white
[50:24] house press secretary doesn't have the power to do that but alas okay well george santos is a clown
[50:33] um come on and now come on all right just can we take him down um and then who's the other one so
[50:39] laura loomer laura loomer really laura loomer who is arguably even more of a clown than george santos i'm
[50:48] not sure that they can compete over who's well he's a convicted clown yes that is true she's just
[50:54] a bigot clown not just it but you know what i'm saying yeah i mean and she continues to attack angie
[50:59] nixon day after day i think she just uh published another attack with angie nixon uh this today or
[51:04] yesterday when she was with friends of the show maxwell frost so she is a open racist bigot um but again
[51:13] i think the bigger problem i i can't even for sure say to you don that neither of these will be
[51:20] chosen and i think it is sad that we are in 2026 and we have a president where it is not too far out
[51:29] to say that he could actually choose convicted a man who was convicted george santos or laura loomer
[51:36] who is a open bigot and a racist as his press secretary i think that that speaks volumes about the
[51:42] current administration um i can speak to you about the more serious contenders for the job but again
[51:49] i can't rule out the fact that either of these two loons could potentially take the role um i also have
[51:55] some new reporting about katie zachariah by the way and how she was ousted what do you mean if you're
[52:02] uh so i also sent this in the chat let me know if you have it noelle but after that fox and friends
[52:07] her going on fox and friends in the morning um on friday morning that was the official kind of nail
[52:14] in the coffin for her president trump saw that performance and it was he was embarrassed saw it and
[52:20] said this is something that cannot represent me she can't even articulate why the president is going
[52:26] after ilhan omar we all know that you know you talked about that investigation into omar and her
[52:32] documents when she was a child well she was on fox and friends on friday and she couldn't defend the
[52:37] administration's investigation of the congresswoman and the president saw that and thought she can't
[52:42] represent me now there is reporting out there in politico that susie wiles is the one that pushed for
[52:48] that my sources tell me that it was actually kate zachariah herself that she was pushing for it after
[52:54] that disastrous press conference that she was the one continuing to push for some sort of either fox
[53:01] news or conservative outlet um interview so that she could clear her name ahead of any second press
[53:07] conference wait a minute so it wasn't the hannity interview i thought the hannity interview was more
[53:13] damaging than that no apparently this was the final nail in the coffin i mean again uh if we can go to
[53:21] 321 so 321 in that interview where she starts starts talking about ilhan omar uh you can see just
[53:30] what the president was disappointed by with her because again this should in theory be a friendly
[53:35] interview i mean these are this is fox and friends you would think sean hannity being an evening host
[53:40] would be a little bit tougher right but the fox and friends the morning show should be the the fluff
[53:45] interview yeah but i thought sean hannity was i thought she embarrassed herself thoroughly it was a
[53:50] face plant on sean hannity let's listen to this if you have it queued up go for it journal uh is reporting uh katie
[53:57] that the president and the administration uh through the department of justice plans on stripping
[54:03] ilhan omar citizenship because they're saying that it was fraudulent well i the public reporting shows
[54:10] there's an ongoing investigation and the department of justice is handling that and and president is
[54:15] aware of it and has mentioned it but that is a department of justice issue yeah he said he wasn't
[54:20] involved in that at all so are these reports just false well i the public reporting shows that
[54:26] there is an ongoing investigation so i defer to the department of justice on that here's uh elan
[54:31] omar's husband when confronted with possible deportation of her of his wife watch tim can you tell
[54:40] us do you have a reaction to the raid and the investigations that are going on my wife came here
[54:45] when she's 12 years old the child war refugee all right do you have a response to that he says i know
[54:52] he uh evidently is being investigated reportedly as well as other people in her family yeah i think
[54:58] i'm just going to continue deferring to our attorney general todd blanche in the department of justice
[55:03] as the public reporting shows there's an ongoing investigation so for people who say that this is
[55:08] personal between the president and the congresswoman what do you say well again i this is a department of
[55:15] justice ongoing an investigation yes and he's well aware of it so i just want to circle back to this
[55:23] can you scroll back to this because i think this is important not even talking about the investigation
[55:29] to her citizenship there is public information when it comes to her financial disclosures that were
[55:38] changed in the middle of the election season she redid those financial disclosures there was a big
[55:44] jump and we're putting it up the screen right here 30 million i mean when you amend your report
[55:50] filing by that margin that has to be concerned she filed 30 million and then she amended the filing
[55:57] between 18 000 and 95 000 big discrepancy there yeah what i would just go back to our president
[56:04] trump's comments that he he knows it's ongoing and that he i had said he's aware of it and the
[56:10] department of justice is looking into it yeah i guess we're gonna have to see because the little
[56:14] problem with changing your birthday if that in fact is the case it would make her 18 which means
[56:18] you can't go on your dad's uh immigration status you have to have your own uh and if there was never
[56:24] there to do that uh that's going to be beyond anybody's uh uh opinion that's a fact meanwhile one
[56:30] of the biggest challenges here in america for republicans okay wow yeah go ahead go ahead i mean i saw
[56:43] some comments of this is hard to watch cringe i mean again you can see why the president saw that
[56:49] and thought oh no this cannot be the person defending me when we are this close to the midterms we are
[56:53] about to be obliterated uh and lose the house potentially lose the senate she can't even articulate
[56:59] why we're investigating a congresswoman it's pretty easy don for her to just stand on there this
[57:04] administration as we have heard when she was ousted on friday it is a really tough job right we heard that
[57:10] from previous press secretaries but i think it's one of the easiest jobs in this administration
[57:14] because all you have to do is get on tv and lie lie lie through your teeth and do it well okay and look
[57:20] and be blonde while doing it so i just don't get why she couldn't get on tv and just lie i mean that is
[57:29] all you have to do the president will be proud he'll pat you on the shoulder you are supposed to work on
[57:33] behalf of the american people you're supposed to tell the truth but we obviously know that this
[57:37] president can't tell the truth so we can't expect those who work for him we should expect it but
[57:42] they're not going to do it so the fact that she could even get on tv and do that don the bare minimum
[57:47] wow i have have you seen all of the um all of the memes on social media my favorite one is called
[57:53] five day katie have you seen that one there's a song called five day katie yes have we by the way
[58:01] in all seriousness have we what is do we have a fact check on the 30 million versus the whatever it is
[58:07] 50 000 or whatever uh for ilhan omar because i know they're saying one has to do with a company
[58:14] the valuation of a company her husband works for and one has to do with personal and maybe that's
[58:20] where the discrepancy was or the error was do you know anything about the reporting on that yeah no i
[58:25] i haven't been uh reporting on that one as much but i believe that you were right dawn that there was
[58:30] a kind of discrepancy there between the personal and professional i don't want to say too much because i
[58:35] haven't been uh or as focused on that reporting but i i just think it's it's a level of what what
[58:41] maury was saying before you as the white house press secretary should make sure that you know more
[58:48] about every topic that you are going to cover from that podium they and the reporter asking that
[58:52] question so if they have a follow-up question you know what they are going to say right you have
[58:58] an idea of what is going to be said from the briefing room um so clearly now i do have some
[59:08] reporting potentially about who could legitimately take the spot i'm again sad i can't rule out laura
[59:13] loomer or george santos with this president uh but anna kelly is deputy press secretary there's
[59:19] the potential that uh she could take the job we also know scott jennings he was in the the run the
[59:24] first time around we know who will likely try to gun for that position uh this time around and also
[59:30] uh katie miller so she's obviously wife to steven miller uh she is a podcast host and she is a
[59:37] potential potentially in the running to take that job but again the sources i talked to say they called
[59:43] it a hot potato last week don saying that like it's a job that not many people are going to want
[59:48] because you're gonna have to defend the potential upcoming losses in the midterms wait a minute are you
[59:54] talking about katie miller steven miller's wife yes she is in the running to potentially replace
[1:00:01] katie zechariah no no you're not shocked by that are you uh yeah i'm actually shocked by it i'm actually
[1:00:10] shocked by it thank you sir wait last thing last thing uh why did maury not present our test results
[1:00:19] to determine if you are not the father um because he knows that i'm not there is no question that i
[1:00:26] am not anybody's father yeah thank you daniel i appreciate it oh boy so look here we are with this
[1:00:37] crazy crazy crazy day crazy news cycle i really enjoyed um having maury on i've enjoyed having
[1:00:42] daniel on uh but i and daniel's gonna go over to the white house see if he can get some questions in to
[1:00:46] the president today maybe you'll find out more about katie zechariah maybe they'll he'll discuss
[1:00:51] um what is happening with uh the you know the madness that is going on uh out on the campaign
[1:00:59] trail with him why is he discussing men's asses so much and also ilhan omar and so that is also part
[1:01:07] of our midterm tea the our third episode appears today tonight at 9 p.m do we have a midterm tea episode
[1:01:16] three trailer that we can play right here just over two weeks until the midterms and this is what's
[1:01:21] happening on the campaign trail in america we're going to start with this trump supporter from ghana
[1:01:26] who apparently needed donald trump to understand the depth of his feelings you are the greatest leader
[1:01:33] of our time there's nobody like you avoid the noise you are doing the right thing you know
[1:01:39] everything you are doing i want to encourage you oh that's hot everybody's entitled to support whoever
[1:01:45] they want but has he heard what the administration has been saying about immigrants and i examined his
[1:01:50] ass i never did that no i never did that with a man before i examined his ass and then i looked at
[1:01:59] his shoulders i looked at his feet i mean it's not kind of gay that's that's really gay we from biden
[1:02:07] sleepy joe he was sleeping all the time he couldn't do anything has nobody showed you those pictures of
[1:02:24] yourself october 15th yours truly was at the white house but this is the same president who called you
[1:02:35] an arrogant fool a low iq individual and dumb as a rock did you discuss that before dinner during dinner
[1:02:45] after dinner john ossoff has spent more money on makeup and by the way i wear very little and i do it
[1:02:51] myself yeah it's got to be just like him going arch i don't know it's whatever it is bizarre but okay some
[1:02:59] things are making more sense now he does it himself that's why it looks like oh there you go oh my gosh
[1:03:10] and then jamie what's her dave i forget her dave uh who is running for fayette county council yeah we
