[6:33] Jake Paul, right? [6:34] That was a big welcome to America again for AJ. [6:38] The last time he was there was Andy Ruiz. [6:40] That didn't go well. [6:41] And then obviously we started to hear murmurings of an issue in Nigeria, an accident. [6:46] And here we are now. [6:47] It's been a tough seven months for Anthony Joshua. [6:51] It's unfathomable what he's been through. [6:53] People cannot understand. [6:55] And listen, grief is the hardest thing in the world to recover from. [6:58] And it takes time. [6:59] And that's what he needs is time. [7:00] But ultimately, he's used boxing as, I wouldn't say a deterrent, but he's used it to help him navigate his way through it. [7:08] Yeah. [7:08] Because as I said before, grief is horrendous and a horrific thing to go through. [7:11] Are you surprised he's back this soon? [7:14] Is it a way just to almost, this is the healing? [7:18] Get back in the gym, get back in the ring? [7:20] I think it gives him a purpose at the end and he's not sitting around dwelling on it. [7:24] You know, he's able to get in the gym. [7:27] And no, because I've been through it and being in the gym was the best time. [7:31] Because you just, it's not on your mind. [7:34] You're focusing on training. [7:35] You've got an opponent to focus on. [7:37] And it's just, it's the ideal thing. [7:39] But it soon hits home when it usually finishes. [7:42] In the summer, AJ made a big, I guess a big development. [7:46] Left Ben Davison, moved over to Oleksandr Usykamp. [7:49] And did that surprise you? [7:51] That link up now, everyone's kind of laughed and joked. [7:53] It's almost a bit Apollo Creed and Rocky Balboa. [7:56] Listen, I do understand it and I do get it. [7:59] I think Usyk's the person, is the only person where he can fathom he was at his very best [8:04] and he's still lost. [8:05] And he had nothing that he could do about it. [8:07] And I think it's like, if you can't beat him, join him. [8:10] And people are saying to me, you know, that doesn't really sound right. [8:13] Don't overcomplicate things. [8:15] That's just the way it is. [8:16] And Usyk finds another gear when he has to. [8:18] In every single fight in his career, when he's needed to turn it on, he's done it. [8:23] And I think Anthony Joshua wants to kind of tap into that potential and kind of tap into [8:27] them expertise. [8:28] Physically, AJ, I think, always looks fantastic. [8:31] We were speaking to Eddie Hearn today and they said that, or Eddie said, sorry, that even [8:35] physically he's gone up another level in this camp. [8:38] Like he's doing things that maybe he hasn't done before, which is hard to believe because [8:41] you almost feel like AJ ticks every single box. [8:44] But he looks like he's unlearning some bad habits and learning some good ones. [8:48] Listen, I think aesthetically and athletically, he's the best heavyweight I've seen from our [8:52] country probably ever. [8:53] I've never seen an athlete like him. [8:55] But it just comes to the mental makeup and what he's doing. [8:59] That's interesting. [8:59] Is it the right thing? [9:00] Just because you look amazing doesn't mean you can perform amazing. [9:03] That's not the way it goes, especially in boxing. [9:06] So I think a lot of it is the mental side. [9:08] It's the tactical preparation. [9:10] These are the things that he's learning and picking up on. [9:13] People forget he's achieved so much so quickly in boxing. [9:16] A record amount of number of bouts to an Olympic gold medal. [9:19] A record number of bouts to the Unified Heavyweight Championship of the World. [9:23] He's done everything super quick. [9:24] And when you do things super quick, you're going to play catch up at some stage. [9:28] And I still feel like he's learning on the job. [9:30] But I expect now to be seeing him at his very best and this should be his peak years coming up. [9:35] The elephant in the room is Mr Tyson Fury. [9:38] He's doing his own thing right now in Thailand. [9:40] He takes some Marriott's back. [9:42] How difficult for AJ to concentrate on what's in front of him, Christian Prenger, [9:46] when the carrot being dangled is the fight he's won for a decade? [9:49] I'll be honest. [9:50] I think the last thing on Tyson, well, on Anthony Joshua's mind is Tyson Fury. [9:55] Really? [9:55] Yeah. [9:55] I just think he's coming in here with the sole focus of Christian Prenger [9:59] and the other activities that have unfolded in his life over the last seven months. [10:02] But I don't think he's given an absolute smidgen of thought to Tyson Fury. [10:08] He's not somebody, Adi, who is thinking about the future and ahead. [10:13] He's answering questions about it. [10:14] Normally, though, AJ would say, I'm not going to ask questions about it until I get through my next opponent. [10:19] But he is answering questions about it. [10:20] He has to answer the questions because that's what is making this fight so interesting [10:24] that he's answering the questions about the future. [10:26] But when he comes away from here, his focus is on the fight. [10:30] He's not focused on anything else but Saturday night. [10:33] Christian Prenger, by many, has been labelled as a club fighter, right? [10:36] That's kind of what he's been doing on the American scene, fighting club fighters. [10:39] But what he is doing is knocking out all these club fighters. [10:43] So I guess he's a level above. [10:44] How dangerous is Christian Prenger? [10:47] He can punch. [10:48] Listen, I think he's a poor man's adjunct cabal. [10:50] He goes the body quite well. [10:52] He moves around reasonably well. [10:55] He doesn't have one outstanding attribute, but he can dig. [11:00] And I don't care who you've knocked out. [11:02] When you've got 20 wins and 20 by knockout, [11:05] it just suggests you're heavy-handed and you can punch. [11:07] So no one's going to want to take a right hand off Christian Prenger. [11:10] You know, he can punch, like I've said before, and I keep repeating myself. [11:13] But outside of that, I don't see much. [11:17] He telegraphs an awful lot of his punches. [11:19] Although he does move around, he's quite flat-footed. [11:22] Yeah, he's moving around on heavy legs, but he still does move. [11:26] I just, I don't see him being super dangerous. [11:29] What I do see is if he comes out and just lets his hands go [11:33] and starts flying, Anthony Joshua. [11:34] Anthony Joshua might think, oh, this wasn't in the script. [11:37] He's got to jump on any kind. [11:39] He's got to put doubt in Anthony Joshua's mind from the first bell. [11:42] So he's got to try and take all the belief and confidence [11:45] away from Anthony Joshua straight away. [11:47] Because if Anthony Joshua gets a snip of any confidence, [11:51] it's over for Christian Prenger. [11:53] You know, I was thinking about this with AJ. [11:54] Obviously, look, Jake Paul was technically a fight, [11:57] but ultimately, it really wasn't. [11:59] So the last time we saw AJ in the ring with a real boxer, [12:02] it was quite a long time ago, Daniel Dubois. [12:03] It was. [12:04] That's a long, long time. [12:05] It was, and it'd be insane to let Anthony Joshua go into the ring [12:09] with Tyson Fury without having this. [12:11] Off the back of facing Jake Paul. [12:13] That's not an ideal warm opponent in any way, shape, or form. [12:16] So Josh is a perfect, diligent athlete. [12:21] That's what he is, first and foremost. [12:22] And he'll be ready for this fight. [12:24] He's the one who needs it. [12:25] We've seen Fury get the rounds he wanted against Mahmood of, [12:28] and now it's time for AJ to get. [12:30] Not so much the rounds, [12:32] but the job that his team want him to do, [12:35] which is the demolition job, really. [12:36] If you are advising AJ how to kind of see this out [12:40] in the first couple of rounds, [12:41] are you saying just have a look at him [12:42] as we see AJ here arriving for the press conference with his team? [13:14] I don't think he's actually that bothered. [13:16] He's just going to turn up and do what they're asking him to do. [13:18] And they want to see how he's reacting to them, in my opinion. [13:21] I do wonder, with AJ, is there, [13:24] and Final One we are going to hear from AJ and the team in a second, [13:26] is there a worst-case scenario? [13:29] And I don't mean him losing. [13:31] I mean, a worst-case scenario in terms of a performance. [13:33] That's possible, though, Adi. [13:35] Don't want to make no mistake you.
