[0:00] in the back of the net and shoots score officer action will bring you so much of it here on the [0:11] zone magnificent it's tremendous catching up on any nfl game is easier than ever before [0:26] world champions again the zone is the home of boxing really spurs you on gets you going [0:42] let's make history pure power there's no way back from this surely fight night on the zone [1:08] brought to you by that prize guy if you had the choice what prize would change your life yes [1:22] competitions from as little as five people what are you waiting for you could be next to change [1:41] your life for that prize guy great battle draws near let's go stay close the super mario galaxy [2:15] movie casino you love to hate mr q the following program is recommended for those 16 and over [2:28] as it contains sports [2:29] involving [2:29] violence possible bad language and flashing imagery what was before the boxing so before [2:39] the boxing it wasn't much really because i would have been like eight nine years old [2:45] just kind of very bored i had a nigerian father who was adamant on me becoming a doctor or [2:53] something so i had to try and find a way to get out of the house boxing was the one that is this [2:59] guy now going all boxing didn't even come into it at first then it did here we go this is it [3:24] at the start of a moses italma fight week and it feels good to say that because we've not said that [3:28] for a long time we have to rewind back to august when he fought dillian white in saudi arabia an [3:33] incredible performance and we've all wanted more since then and we finally get a bit more [3:38] on saturday night we start here dean's gate hotel for the press conference then it's the way in and [3:43] then it's fight night on saturday from the co-op lies in manchester let me welcome in my sparring [3:49] partner for this one darren barker this is good isn't it you can tell from the turnout we've done [3:54] quite a few of these i know press conferences are you know usually not as busy as this i think [3:59] everyone's excited not just for moses obviously but the magnificent seven card it's a really good [4:04] card as well it was that day's birthday yesterday so i wish him i wish him happy birthday which one [4:09] am i this or this one yeah that is yeah 45 yesterday c5 look good though you look good right [4:18] but yeah going back to what you said you know you you're really starting to get the [4:24] sense the feel aside from what we see of a moses in the ring yeah that we've got a proper superstar [4:31] on our hands you know the the people that are gathering here the noise that is starting to [4:35] circulate around moses um he's backing up with performances that the future is looking very [4:42] bright but he's in there with a man jermaine franklin who's very very capable he's a very [4:47] good fighter this is a real benchmark i think to see how good moses really is the narrative [4:54] since moses i guess beat um balagan we we did that card in scotland yes has been he is the future [5:00] king he is the future heavyweight world champion he was only 20 back then he's obviously 21 now [5:05] the amount of pressure this young kid's having to deal with with it almost being said and proclaimed [5:11] that he is going to be the next future he's going to be the next aj the next fury the next [5:15] how's he handling all that well by the looks of it yeah you know i i just think [5:20] when you can do what he does i think you lean on your boxing ability [5:25] you don't worry about external noise you just crack on and do what you do and he does it so well [5:29] he really does you know i've seen many a talent go on and win world titles but not look as impressive [5:35] as moses have you know there's gonna be tougher tests i understand but it's just he's destroying [5:42] opponents destroying them he has every shot in his arsenal he's so quick he's so powerful um [5:50] physically very strong this one surprised me so much because we were there in saudi and dillian [5:55] white all week looked in the best shape i've ever seen dillian white in and look age is age right [5:59] wearing tears wearing turn but physically dillian white looked so impressive and you felt like it [6:03] was going to be a case of maybe this might be a bit too early for moses and then he did that [6:08] yeah i mean and he was saying all the right things wasn't he dealing why aren't you thinking hold on [6:12] this is going to go round this is going to be a tough test it wasn't at all the man showing why [6:17] i believe if he gets through this and he looks good what what what were you waiting for let's [6:22] create some history let's put him in there let's let's [6:25] call this is what you would do so if he gets through this one not a similar type of opponent [6:29] just go for it look he's he's hot so highly ranked what wbo number one wba number one wbc number three [6:36] i think 11 in the ibf so with two of them you're there what you're waiting for if that's their [6:42] protocol if that's what their their goal is for you to climb the rankings then let him go i think [6:49] he's that good um if he was to fight one of the big guys if it was to be a new city he was to lose [6:54] and it all depends on the [6:55] manner of defeat so what but i think he's that good yeah i think he's very i don't mind getting [7:00] carried away when you see that i think we should all get carried away because i do think he is that [7:05] good i do think that we are you know and look and we're coming to an end of an era with heavyweights [7:10] over here as well i mean aj's maybe got a couple left same as fury chisora supposedly got one [7:15] we haven't heard from dillian white joe joy they're all coming to the end they're all late 30 [7:20] some of them such and 40. when you see a fresh talent like moses coming through i feel like we [7:26] don't know what they're doing look if he is good enough show it yeah this is the and it will always [7:30] be the marquee division in boxing the heavyweights it's the glamorous weight and it will always [7:38] search for its next stars you know this is where there's been ups and downs ups and downs you know [7:41] muhammad ali retires larry holmes comes along and then you know then there's a young kid called mike [7:46] mike tyson and you know there's downers and there's uppers but i tell you now it's so exciting when [7:53] you've got someone like that who you we pretty sure can win you can win you can win you can win [7:56] you can win you can win you can win you can win you can win you can win you can win you can win you can win [7:56] fly the flag for this division all right let me quickly tell you how it's going to work today so [8:00] we're going to have three mini press conferences if you like you can see the guys behind me [8:03] on stage that is the guys in the prelims then we're going to come back to us and then we're [8:07] going to do everyone bar the chief support of moses the tama and then we're going to [8:12] obviously hear from willie hutchinson who's got a lot to say ezra taylor moses [8:16] and jermaine franken but let's get the press conference underway so let's throw it to your mc [8:20] mr thomas treiber ladies and gentlemen welcome to the final press [8:29] conference for the magnificent [10:23] So let's get stuck into this up here. [10:25] I can see so many great fighters up here. [10:27] But let's get an opening word from Frank Warren. [10:29] Because Frank, I mean, Magnificent Seven, you love all of this. [10:33] And first one on DAZN, I bet you're looking forward to this on Saturday. [10:37] Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. [10:39] And thanks for coming here today. [10:40] And it's a pleasure to be here in Manchester. [10:43] Magnificent Seven, this is a great concept, always has been. [10:46] And what it's always been about is good quality matchmaking. [10:51] Good fights, fighters who step up to the plate [10:53] and are willing to take risks and show what they're all about. [10:57] And the beneficiaries of all this is the public. [10:59] And you're going to see something special on Saturday on DAZN. [11:04] Or you're going to see it live if you want to buy a couple of those tickets that are left. [11:09] But this is going to be a fabulous night. [11:11] Great night for British boxing. [11:13] Great night for world boxing. [11:14] And we've got fabulous fights. [11:16] I can't wait to get to see them. [11:18] Well, Frank, let's get an opening word on Adam Hamid here. [11:20] That's who we're going to start with. [11:22] I mean, you have been entrusted with guiding his career just like you did with his. [11:27] Very famous father. [11:28] How excited are you about seeing Adam Hamid back on Saturday? [11:33] I recognise that voice. [11:37] I'm very excited. [11:39] I'm very excited and I'm honoured. [11:40] You know, Naz and I had a great journey together. [11:44] You know, and all of his family, his mum Alicia and him and, you know, all of them. [11:50] They've been really good people. [11:51] And for me, it's a joy and a pleasure to be involved with Adam. [11:55] He's a credit to his family. [11:58] That's for sure. [11:59] Thank you very much, Frank. [12:00] Alicia's done a great job. [12:03] Yeah. [12:05] It's a pleasure and I'm looking forward to the journey with him. [12:10] He's a young man. [12:11] He's got no amateur experience, but he's done well up to what he's had to do yet and he's [12:14] learning on the job and it's a credit to him and his team. [12:18] Thank you very much, Frank. [12:19] Well, Adam, fight number seven coming up on Saturday night. [12:22] Last time we saw you at Wembley Stadium, lighting up Wembley Stadium. [12:25] I bet those knuckles are itchy and you're ready to go. [12:28] Yeah. [12:29] It's definitely super blessed to be a part of such an amazing establishment like Queensbury. [12:35] Thank you for the kind words, Frank. [12:38] Dad, big up yourself in the back. [12:41] Come on. [12:42] Yeah. [12:43] I've been blessed to be a part of such an amazing show so early on in my career and [12:48] I know the platform I'm on and I'm truly grateful for the opportunities and I'm looking to get [12:53] in there Saturday night. [12:54] Like you said, I'm itching and I'm going to do a demolition job. [12:57] Inshallah. [12:59] Well, that wouldn't be too bad at all. [13:01] Listen, I've heard you say that this is the fittest that you've ever actually been going [13:04] into a fight. [13:05] Give us a bit of insight. [13:06] Yeah, definitely. [13:07] Look, I haven't been in the ring for, what, seven, eight months now, not due to my circumstances, [13:13] but I'm more than ready and I was ready for the fight that unfortunately got pulled back [13:19] and held to now. [13:20] But look, God's the best of planners and I feel that everything happens for a reason [13:25] and I'm physically and mentally more ready than I've ever, ever been going into a fight. [13:26] Yeah. [13:27] And Saturday night, you're going to see that. [13:33] And Frank mentioned it there, you are learning under the lights. [13:36] No amateur career, everything that you are learning, you're kind of doing it in front [13:40] of everyone. [13:41] Now, I've heard you talk about before how obviously your father has essentially got [13:45] you into this position, but you've still got to grow off. [13:48] The door is there. [13:49] It's open. [13:50] You've still got to walk through it. [13:51] How much are you putting into this sport? [13:53] What does it mean to you? [13:54] Listen, I've dedicated my life to this sport. [13:56] Since I've. [13:57] Since I've jumped in it and I've been thrown in the deep end and like you just mentioned, [14:01] I'm not, I'm not oblivious to know that if I wasn't my dad's son, I probably wouldn't [14:06] be in such an amazing position, but the door's open and I am grateful. [14:10] And again, thank you very much to Frank Warren. [14:12] I really appreciate you for always looking after me and putting me on the best shows [14:16] and inshallah, I'm going to make everyone proud. [14:20] Can't wait for it. [14:21] Looking forward to your next fight, Adam. [14:22] Thank you very much. [14:23] Walk through that door, my friend, let's, let's speak to another young man, very much [14:27] a young man, 18, 18 years old, John Joe Carrigan, former world amateur champion. [14:33] This is fight number two coming up for you on Saturday. [14:36] Your debut was in October. [14:38] Do you remember it? [14:39] Like, how did it go? [14:40] Was it as you expected? [14:41] What can you tell us? [14:42] Yeah, obviously my debut was quite a while back now, innit? [14:45] So yeah, obviously I remember my debut. [14:47] I'll never ever forget my debut, but on Saturday night, I remember his statement even better [14:52] than I did on my debut. [14:53] So yeah. [14:54] Your debut actually had a bit of everything because you got the guy out of there in the [14:57] first round. [14:58] He was cut as well. [14:59] It was, it was a bit of a wild fight, but, um, fight number two is going to be even better. [15:03] Yeah, definitely. [15:04] Obviously I've been working in the gym with my team and that, and obviously this fight [15:07] got postponed. [15:08] So I've had three camps into one. [15:10] So yeah, coming soon, special. [15:12] And you shared a changing room, a dressing room that night with one of your, your good [15:16] friends. [15:17] He's on this show as well. [15:18] Willie Hutchinson. [15:19] I'm sure that helped you calm the nerves a little bit. [15:21] It was probably singing in the corner and all sorts of... [15:23] Yeah, you could say calm the nerves, but he was, he was at the other side singing to [15:26] himself. [15:28] A crazy man indeed. [15:30] Frank, I mean, John Joe Carrigan, fight number two coming up. [15:33] I know he was a highly sought after prospect. [15:35] I bet you're excited about this one. [15:38] 18 years of age, great amateur background and he's, he's in the right place. [15:43] This is what we do well, young fighters coming with us and doing, and he's a tremendous prospect. [15:49] I love what I see in his first fight and I think we see some great nights. [15:54] He's got, I believe he's got what it takes. [15:57] Okay. [15:58] We look forward to it. [15:59] And best of luck to you on Saturday night, fight number two. [16:02] Now there is another young man at the end of the table there, Nelson Birchill, one, one [16:07] third of the fighting Birchill brothers from Morecambe. [16:10] He calls himself the sexy one, by the way, ladies and gentlemen, I'll let you make your [16:14] own judgements, but it's a big step up on Saturday night. [16:17] You're fighting for the English title, Nelson, tell us how you're feeling about this one. [16:21] Yeah, feeling good. [16:23] First of all, I'd like to say thank you to Uncle Frank and Queensbury and Leading for [16:26] having me on such a big show. [16:28] Um. [16:29] Just like every other fighter here, but stayed dedicated, missed out on my turkey on Christmas [16:35] day. [16:36] Um. [16:37] So I'm not letting it slip. [16:38] I'm taking that English title back to Morecambe, baby. [16:41] Does this one feel any different? [16:42] Cause it is your first title fight. [16:43] This is an opponent on Saturday night who's really coming to win. [16:46] He wants that title just as much as you do. [16:49] It's just another day in the office Dev, um, just about going in there, putting on a masterclass [16:53] and showing what I worked so hard for. [16:55] It's not just so big to me, it's massive to my family. [16:58] Um. [16:59] We've worked so hard over the years. [17:00] It's just time to reap the rewards and take all the belts on along the way. [17:05] You are on a run of six consecutive stoppages. [17:07] I think the last time you boxed at the carp live, it was over within 90 seconds. [17:11] What can we expect on Saturday? [17:13] Another knockout. [17:14] A masterclass performance. [17:16] I believe I'm better than the opponent in every departure. [17:19] On Saturday night, I'm going to show that. [17:20] I'm going to out-box him, I'm going to out-fight him, out-think him. [17:23] Everything you can name, I'm going to do. [17:26] Now, Frank, I saw your eyes light up. [17:28] Uh. [17:29] This is exactly, this is the sort of talent that a magnificent Seven is built on, right? [17:33] A young Nelson Birchall coming through. [17:34] Again, a great young fighter, Nelson, and he's told me he's going to be the most famous [17:38] fighter from Morecambe. [17:39] So, we'll see. [17:41] I thought I already was. [17:43] He's a tremendous prospect, there's no doubt about that. [17:48] He's doing everything right and I'm a game. [17:51] I'm delighted. [17:52] This is, this is the part of the business that I really, really do enjoy. [17:55] You know, working with all the youngsters and young fighters coming through and Nelson's [18:00] a, he's a, he's a very, very good prospect, no doubt about that. [18:05] Best of luck to you on Saturday, Nelson. [18:07] Best of luck on becoming the most famous fighter from Morecambe as well. [18:10] There's someone else who I'd imagine has something to say about that. [18:13] Now, we've got a couple of brilliant, lightweight fights on this show. [18:16] I'm going to start here with Michael Gomez against Jordan Flynn. [18:20] Now, Jordan, it wasn't supposed to be Michael Gomez. [18:23] It was supposed to be Akib Fiaz. [18:25] You had a launch press conference. [18:26] You went back and forth. [18:28] In steps Michael Gomez as a late replacement. [18:30] How, how are you seeing this one? [18:32] Yeah, obviously, firstly, thank you to Queensby. [18:35] Thank you, Frank, for such a big opportunity on a big stage. [18:38] But yeah, it feels like this was going on forever. [18:41] We're finally here now. [18:42] We're a couple of days away. [18:43] I don't know what happened to my last opponent. [18:45] He disappeared. [18:46] But yeah, we've got Michael Gomez now. [18:47] God knows what happened to the other one. [18:49] But yeah, I think this is a much tougher fight. [18:53] Respect to Gomez. [18:54] I think he's a good fighter and I think he's going to come, he's going to bring it and [18:56] expect nothing but a war. [18:59] Michael, let me bring you in here. [19:00] I was watching one of your, your videos. [19:01] Yeah. [19:02] Interviews. [19:03] I've got a quote here. [19:04] If the best me turns up, I think it's a one-sided beat down from the second half of the fight [19:09] onwards. [19:10] If not, I'll have to go to the well and grind out a win. [19:13] Give us the kind of thinking behind that, but potentially a one-sided beat down. [19:17] The best me turns up, yes. [19:18] If it doesn't, I'll have to grind out and find a way to win, which I'll do that as well. [19:22] Are we talking to the best you? [19:23] Are you ready to go? [19:24] We won't know until Saturday night when the bell goes. [19:26] It all depends. [19:27] I also heard you say that if you don't win this fight, you will retire. [19:32] Why? [19:34] Well, last year I had the worst performance in my career, down to my own fault. [19:38] Then, obviously, 30 months out of the ring, so a loss here, where do we go from there? [19:43] Back to small, do I want to keep doing that and trying to get back up? [19:46] Not really, so it's all or nothing on Saturday night, and when that bell goes, man, I'm coming [19:50] out flying with everything, everything on the line. [19:53] You've got an opponent there, Jordan, who's going to come out flying on Saturday night, [19:57] and he will retire if he loses to you. [19:59] What are your thoughts? [20:01] Well, I guess it's time to put him to sleep, put him to bed. [20:04] But no, he's a tough fighter. [20:05] I know he's going to come out flying. [20:06] But I'm not looking to take it from the second half. [20:08] I'm looking to put my mark in from round one. [20:11] So yeah, it's going to be a good fight, but listen, this is my time now. [20:14] I've been working hard. [20:15] I've been dedicating myself, missing out as well on Christmas, everything for the last [20:20] however many months. [20:21] Last 12 months, I've really been locked in, made changes, and you're going to see it on [20:25] a performance on Saturday. [20:26] So what's your prediction then, Jordan? [20:29] Jordan Flynn win by any means, just to win. [20:32] That's the main thing, is to win. [20:33] But if he comes out how he's saying he's going to come out, then don't be surprised if it [20:36] ends early. [20:37] Stop lying. [20:40] Don't be surprised, Gomez. [20:41] Don't lie. [20:43] Next question, please. [20:44] I think I'm done with you boys, but good, good stuff. [20:46] Looking forward to that one on Saturday. [20:48] Another fantastic, lightweight fight coming up, Alex Murphy against Josh Holmes. [20:53] Now I'm going to start with you, Josh Holmes, because you are, this is the step up. [20:58] You're unbeaten so far. [20:59] You've been grinding away on the small halls, and now you get your chance on the big stage. [21:04] How are you feeling about this one? [21:05] I'm feeling great. [21:06] Like I said, I just want to have a massive thank you to Frank here for getting me on [21:09] this show. [21:09] I've been grinding away for years on these small halls shows. [21:13] I've been pro seven years. [21:15] I'm 17 and 0. [21:17] This is my first opportunity, so I'm not going to let it slip. [21:22] You said you're better in every department to Alex Murphy. [21:25] Again, I do my research. [21:27] I watch all your interviews. [21:28] Yeah, look, that's no disrespect to Alex, but that's just my belief in my talent. [21:35] I just believe I am. [21:38] I believe I can get him out of there before the ten rounds end. [21:43] Alex Murphy, feel free to come in. [21:46] I mean, you've got an opponent on Saturday who is very confident, gets his step up, and [21:50] believes he's better than you in every department. [21:52] Oh, yeah. [21:53] I mean, it's funny that, because I said that in an interview myself yesterday. [21:57] I believe I'm better in every department, so we'll find out on Saturday. [22:01] Us fighters, we've got to believe in ourselves, and obviously we both do, so that's going [22:05] to make for a great fight, and I'm looking forward to it. [22:08] I love that. [22:09] One of you is going to be wrong, by the way, on Saturday. [22:10] I can't wait to find out. [22:11] One of us has to be wrong. [22:12] I can't wait to find out. [22:13] I can't wait to find out who it is. [22:14] Alex, at the launch press conference, you said that you will be working on your power, [22:19] and that's a way that potentially you could get the win, because you've had some close [22:22] fights recently where maybe it could have gone your way, but it didn't. [22:26] So how has that working on the power gone, and could this be your first knockout victim [22:29] on Saturday? [22:30] Yeah, definitely. [22:31] I've been working very hard. [22:32] I always do work very hard, but, you know, in the training, the strength and conditioning [22:37] has been one of the main priorities, and I'm feeling strong. [22:40] I'm feeling great, and I'm going to be stronger in there. [22:42] Obviously, Josh, coming up in weight, this isn't his natural weight. [22:45] I'm going to be a big boy in there on Saturday, and you'll find that out, and, yeah, it could [22:49] be the first stoppage, but, listen, I'm not going to go forcing it. [22:52] I'm going to stick to what I'm good at, boxing and moving, and, you know, if it comes, then [22:56] it comes. [22:57] Happy days. [22:59] Is that a factor, Josh, the fact that Alex could be more natural at the weight? [23:02] Well, he says he's a bigger guy, but this is my more natural weight. [23:06] You know, I've done super feather, and I've stopped people at super feather, and I've [23:09] stopped people at lightweight as well. [23:11] He's not got a stoppage on his record. [23:12] I have. [23:13] They're all down, and they haven't got it back up, so, yeah, we'll see. [23:18] Final one for you, Josh. [23:20] You are, and this may be news to some of you, you are Johnny Depp's personal trainer, [23:25] so he's giving you the night off on Saturday. [23:28] Any words of encouragement from him? [23:29] Yeah, he's going to be tuning in at home. [23:31] He's looking forward to the full show, and, yeah, it's a pretty mad one, but, yeah, he's [23:37] tuning in. [23:38] I love that, and that confirms Johnny Depp has his own, by the way, ladies and gentlemen, [23:41] and so should you, everyone watching. [23:44] Frank, best of luck to both of you guys, and, Frank, final words to yourself on this. [23:47] A couple of brilliant lightweight fights. [23:50] They're just great fights, you know, real young fighters, great title fights, and this [23:55] is just the undercard. [23:58] This is just part of the undercard. [23:59] It's going to be a brilliant night, and the enthusiasm and the self-belief everybody's [24:03] got here is phenomenal, and I love them for it, and I'm looking forward to seeing them [24:08] all in action. [24:09] I'm sure everybody else is, too. [24:11] Brilliant stuff. [24:12] Thank you to everyone at this top table. [24:13] We're going to get some face-offs now. [24:14] Down the front, and then we'll be back very shortly for part two. [24:23] Frank was right. [24:24] That is just the undercard, but, I mean, the best thing to take away from that press conference [24:27] is Johnny Depp. [24:28] I mean, that's surprising. [24:29] Good lines. [24:30] I was like, is it true? [24:31] Yeah, Depp's good at that stuff. [24:32] I was like, is this true? [24:33] I've got to speak to Josh privately. [24:34] He's like, is this true? [24:35] Johnny Depp's personal trainer? [24:36] That's incredible. [24:37] But, look, it's good to see a lot of the youngsters coming through. [24:42] Nelson Burchill's standing right in front of us, and we've seen his brother, Leighton, [24:47] who's here as well. [24:48] Yep. [24:49] And, obviously, Nelson will be going for his first title, English title, and good luck [24:51] to him. [24:52] Yeah. [24:53] A very, very good fighter, as Depp said there. [24:56] Dressed the part as well, doesn't he? [24:57] Yeah. [24:58] Dressed the part as well. [24:59] He does. [25:00] He looks the part. [25:01] Morecambe's most popular fighter, apparently. [25:02] Yeah, yeah. [25:03] Don't know about that. [25:04] So, leading Saturday in a scheduled four-round super lightweight contest, Fritz [25:10] Adamovic. [25:11] Leading Saturday in a scheduled four-round super welterweight contest, Jojo Kerrigan. [25:27] That's another fighter. [25:28] He's got a very bright future in front of him, Jojo Kerrigan. [25:32] We see him at the Haringey Box Cup. [25:33] Mm. [25:34] Exceptional talent. [25:35] Leading Saturday in a scheduled ten-round contest for the vacant English and Commonwealth [25:45] silver welterweight championship, let's welcome the sexy one, Nelson Burchill. [25:52] Yeah. [25:53] Nelson Burchill will take on Ryan Griffiths, not Frank Warren, obviously, but big opportunity [25:58] for Nelson. [25:59] Yeah. [26:00] Very good fighter. [26:01] He's got a lot of talent in William, as you say. [26:03] Both fighting. [26:04] It's in his blood. [26:05] Yeah. [26:06] So much talent. [26:08] There really is. [26:09] This one's interesting. [26:10] Jordan Flynn versus Michael Gomez Jr. [26:11] We've done a few Michael Gomez fights. [26:12] It's supposed to be Jordan Flynn versus Aqib Fiyaz. [26:17] Different style of fighter is Michael Gomez. [26:20] A bit more, like, longer, a bit more rangier, but this should be fireworks from the very [26:26] first. [26:27] Do you know what it is, Adam? [26:28] It's a must win. [26:29] For both. [26:30] They've got to win. [26:31] I think they have to. [26:32] Since he lost to Cameron Vaughn, Michael Gomez Jr. last lost to bloody not fought in [26:37] 13 months. [26:38] I think he said there. [26:39] So he has to win. [26:40] Competing Saturday in a tag round contest for the Macon Commonwealth silver lightweight [26:48] championship, Josh Holmes versus super Alex Murphy. [26:56] Interesting one, this one. [26:57] Alex Murphy, more experience fighting the better opposition, but it is Josh Holmes is [27:02] unbeaten. [27:03] As you know, I'm beaten. [27:04] Fighters come with this level of confidence that they think they can win and walk through [27:07] everyone. [27:08] So interesting title. [27:09] Nice little belt on the line as well for this. [27:11] There you go. [27:13] So that was part one. [27:14] Yeah. [27:15] On that last one, I think styles with gel. [27:16] I do. [27:17] Um, another one where you feel both need to win. [27:19] Um, although Holmes is unbeaten. [27:21] Yeah. [27:22] No names on the record. [27:24] And this is, you know, his first real step up against Murphy. [27:26] So you think he'd ask, they're putting a good performance here, but Alex Murphy's capable. [27:30] I tell you, he's very, very awkward. [27:31] We see him against Khalil. [27:33] Yeah. [27:34] Yeah. [27:35] Putting a very good performance. [27:36] Showed lots of. [27:37] Even against Akeem Fiaz. [27:38] And Fiaz as well. [27:39] You know, he's game. [27:40] He really is. [27:41] Uh, so yeah, a lot, a lot of talent there to enjoy. [27:42] Uh, I'm sure they're going to be in really good fights and I'm looking forward to the [27:45] start of the show. [27:46] The fact that was that, that was part one of this press conference. [27:48] Yeah. [27:49] Just shows you how big a card this is. [27:50] Cause we've not even really got to the magnificent seven part of it, if you like. [27:54] I mean, they're all going to take their way to the stage and make their seats now, but [27:58] it shows just how good a card this is on Saturday. [28:00] And they said, there's a few tickets, but I don't know how there's tickets available [28:03] because there should be the hottest show in town. [28:05] I know the Mobros are tonight, but that's tonight. [28:07] It should be the hottest seat in town. [28:09] Mosley Thomas, by the way, he's just taking his seat next to me and he looks pretty big, [28:14] doesn't he? [28:15] He is big. [28:16] And I'll tell you now, so is his reputation because we've already said it about this room. [28:22] It's growing. [28:23] The numbers of people in this room is getting larger and it's all for him. [28:27] It's all for him. [28:28] How does he block out the noise then? [28:30] We've not really had anyone that's had this kind of noise around them. [28:33] Since AJ and AJ was a bit older when coming out of the Olympics, obviously came out of [28:37] Olympic gold. [28:38] So there's a lot of noise around AJ, but it's a lot of noise for what still is a kid. [28:43] Yeah. [28:44] Look, pressure is a privilege. [28:46] You know, you, you're getting this noise because you are that good. [28:49] So I think that there's one part you need to feed off of it, but you do need to block [28:53] out of that external noise to, to an extent, I think, and just focus on what he does well. [28:59] And that's the boxing. [29:00] But you know, I think ultimately just enjoy it. [29:02] Enjoy it. [29:03] Enjoying the dream. [29:04] I mean, it's incredible. [29:05] Imagine being that man that could potentially be flying the flag. [29:09] Be that. [29:10] Look, you're smiling. [29:11] You imagine, imagine having the world at your feet potentially. [29:13] You know, you know why I smile? [29:14] I smile because I believe all those things can come true. [29:17] Yeah. [29:18] So do I. [29:19] I believe all those things. [29:20] If you stay grounded and just follow the path that's put in front of you. [29:22] I do believe that he can become world champion. [29:23] Yeah. [29:24] So I say enjoy. [29:25] You still got to work your socks off and do everything correct. [29:27] You know, be diligent in the gym. [29:29] He's got fantastic coach, uh, with Ben and Lee Wiley all working. [29:32] And you know, the way they do their camps is very meticulous. [29:36] And I think that's so important. [29:37] You know, it's fine lines. [29:38] It's fractions in this sport at top level. [29:41] So, um, yeah, he's got a very good future in front of him. [29:44] And, uh, I'm, I'm here for it. [29:46] Yeah. [29:47] I'm here for the co-main as well. [29:48] The chief support. [29:49] Some people call it chief support. [29:50] Willie Hutchinson versus Ezra Taylor. [29:52] Um, now look, Willie, to be fair, backs it up. [29:56] He talks a lot, but he backs it up and he's backed up in really good performances. [29:59] Even in the defeat to Joshua Boatsey. [30:01] Push Boatsey. [30:02] All the way. [30:03] I think surprised if this was a great performance as well from him, wasn't it? [30:06] I mean, Mark Jeffers. [30:07] Yeah. [30:08] And this was coming off, um, a defeat to Boatsey. [30:10] So he needed a win. [30:11] He needed a big win and he got one and he got the stoppage as well. [30:14] Wasn't his best performance, but he got the job done. [30:16] I thought he looked really well, to be honest. [30:18] I mean, bar the odd shot that Jeff has landed. [30:21] By the way, Jeff is a very capable fire, a good fire. [30:24] Um, took a couple of shots at times, but he went through the gears when he needed to. [30:29] And he looks spot for when there was a, there was a confidence. [30:31] About him. [30:32] Yes, he's lost. [30:33] Uh, but only to really good fighters. [30:34] And I think that's really, really brought him on and helped him. [30:35] And he, he just had a swagger about in this night. [30:36] And, uh, he goes into this fight against this man who's unbeaten, uh, and looking though [30:37] he has lots of promise, you know, uh, a real self-belief. [30:38] I've sat down with him. [30:39] Actually, I've done a podcast with Ezra Taylor and he, he really, really believed that this [30:40] is the path, the correct path for him to fulfill his dreams. [30:41] And yeah, he's really, really good. [30:42] I mean, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, [30:43] he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's got every shot in his arsenal. [30:59] He packs a punch. [31:06] And as I say, he really believes in himself. [31:07] Yeah. [31:08] That was last time that I get Steve. [31:09] Will do. [31:10] And I think what will impress Ezra and his trainer, Malik Scott is that the power stayed [31:13] until round. [31:13] nine this was around nine stoppage and he he's gonna he might need that because i ever feel like [31:18] this this fight could go a long way between these two so the fact that he's got the power both of [31:22] them can punch both of them you know have spoken a bit of smack to each other as well and this fight [31:27] came because they were ringside and kind of doing verbals and all of a sudden it happened um so [31:32] look we are going to hear from those two very shortly but let's continue with the second part [31:36] of the press conference let's throw it back up one stake again to thomas treiber oh sorry it's [31:43] thanks ade not thomas treiber here devsani of course and uh listen i told you that this was [31:50] going to be magnificent look at some of these fights that we've got coming up i can see here [31:54] a featherweight title fight here european featherweight championship on the line liam davis [31:59] looking to become a two-time european champion and featherweight and a chance [32:34] to become a two-time european champion what's going on he's got a big fight on saturday night [32:39] for the european title and he's got to win it and if he wins it project him [32:44] to a position where they get that shot i'll make sure it happens it's a tough fight they're not [32:48] here to make up the numbers you know francesco is a decent fighter good fighter and again i think [32:54] we're going to see hopefully he's going to bring the best out of liam you know liam is just that [33:00] much away from i believe from getting that opportunity to fight for the world title so [33:05] he's got a gun do the business okay liam let's bring you in then you are so close to a world [33:11] title shot you just got to do the business on saturday but grandelli [33:15] we've seen him before we've seen him against nathaniel collins tough fighter yeah he's a good [33:20] fighter and um i'm happy to be here happy to have the test and this is my opportunity to show [33:27] i'm going to be one of the best featherweights and two-time world champion two-weight world [33:31] champion hopefully uh i hope he's ready i'm excited i'm grateful for the opportunity it's [33:39] been a long time coming and um yeah roll on saturday night you're going to see the best of [33:45] everyone says it got a lot to prove but i'm ready now you were meant to be fighting zach miller on [33:51] this show you had quite a tasty kind of press conference and and build up what's your reaction [33:56] like when he pulled out and grandelli steps in what what's the difference in terms of opponent [34:00] none really i want to be a world champion which i believe i can be i should beat zach miller and [34:07] francesco on saturday so it's all the same to me just excited as i said grateful to be here and um [34:15] yeah roll on saturday night [34:17] few days away are you gonna knock him out i've got him i feel like i will i'm feeling good [34:24] and uh that's the only way i make a statement in it i gotta stop this man saturday night [34:29] well let's bring in francesco grandelli who has a translator with him and uh francesco a tough [34:37] opponent here in liam davis who says that he will be looking to knock you out on saturday night what [34:41] is your reaction how do you feel about this fight [35:00] i'm used to tough fights i'm not scared if i say that he will knock me out i'm here to fight [35:21] well francesco liam davis's nickname is liam dangerous davis how dangerous do you think he is [35:30] well [35:43] i know he's a tough fighter he has uh he's and uh my nickname is a little bit softer but [36:05] not scary it's like like i say them here to fight and why do you become european champion [36:12] on saturday [36:13] you will see saturday okay thank you thank you for the interview [36:24] thank you francesco grandelli thank you liam davis uh yeah european featherweight championship on the line on saturday night let's move to the middleweight division now i'm looking forward to this one [36:35] nathan the hitman heaney in against jerome warburton uh nathan i mean at the launch press conference we were talking and you said this is probably going to be the final year of my career but you've ended up having such a great camp i think you're in the shape of your life and we're not going to get rid of you right [36:51] yeah look to be fair the person [36:54] you're not going to get rid of you right [36:54] the first person brought up my retirement was yourself in the press conference and i just saw roll with that a little bit because yeah he needs at the end of his career take him now he got a chance i thought i'd roll with that a little bit but yeah i feel very frustrating when the first day got moved but in hindsight it's made me feel even better so yeah i'm really looking forward to saturday [37:15] and at that launch press conference the face-off was pretty memorable there was a little bit of a push and a little bit of a pull a few verbals exchanged one of the things you said [37:24] to [37:25] jerome warburton was don't get nervous now are you uh are you looking across at a nervous man [37:31] no he'll be prepared he'll be ready like who knows i haven't got a clue whether he's a nervous fighter [37:38] whether he's feeling the pressure of it who knows but but but i showed this magnitude there is a lot [37:43] of pressure that comes with it it's a massive crowd there's a massive there's a huge amount [37:49] people coming from my city possibly been antagonized in the first press conference [37:54] so yeah it's gonna be very exciting very interesting [37:56] Let's bring in Jerome Warburton. At the launch press conference you said not only are you going to ruin Nathan Heaney's Stoke City dream, you're actually going to end up taking his fans on the night. Is that still the plan on Saturday? [38:10] My plan is to just go out there, get the win and just show everyone that I deserve to be on this platform. Obviously a massive thank you to Frank for having me here. I just feel like this is the place for me to be honest. I'm just going to go out there, put on a show-stopping performance for respect to Nathan Heaney. I'm just going to do what I do best. [38:37] So what is it that you do better than Nathan Heaney? Have you got him at the right time? [38:43] Is there a little bit of that? [38:45] Younger, fitter, stronger in every department. [38:47] Feel free to come in Nathan. [38:51] Yeah, like another fighter I said earlier, we all have to have that belief. But it's totally different obviously when you're in there. [38:57] I've fought at a very good level and I've won at a very high level. In fact, one of the guys that I beat is potentially going to be a world champion next week. [39:09] Yeah, it's one of them. You have to have belief don't you? But I believe that the way me and Steve were, it's... [39:15] I will do what I need to on Saturday. [39:18] It's your first fight on DAZN as well. So DAZN get that taste of the Stokies, right? [39:23] Exactly. I can't wait because when I've seen the production levels of DAZN, it's been amazing. [39:28] So I have all my guys there making all the noise. They're going to make the most incredible atmosphere. [39:34] And Delilah, the spectacle of that for DAZN, it's going to be phenomenal. I can't wait. I'm really looking forward to it. [39:40] He's not going to steal your fans at the end of the night, is he? [39:42] No, never in a million years. [39:44] Yeah, definitely. I'll think of it. [39:46] I don't think any of them will be following me after the first press conference. Jesus Christ. [39:50] Set the pace ahead, didn't I? Bloody hell. [39:53] Yeah, cheers. [39:55] Yeah, no, obviously to fight Nathan Heaney and obviously, you know, fight in front of all of his fans, it's going to be an amazing atmosphere. [40:03] You know, I'm bringing a lot of my fans as well. So yeah, it's going to be amazing. I'm really looking forward to it. [40:11] Good stuff. Best of luck to both of you. [40:13] And Frank, I mean, Nathan Heaney has told you for years now. [40:17] He wants to fight at Stoke City. I guess he's got to keep that dream alive by getting the win on Saturday. [40:22] That's exactly right. You hit a nail on the head. He's got a tough fight. Him and Jerome, you know, they're two real good tough competitors. [40:31] And again, I think we're going to see something a little bit special. We will do it because their styles will blend. [40:37] They will blend and it's going to be, I think it's going to be a fabulous fight. I really do. [40:42] And I can't wait to hear Delilah. They sing it better than Tom Jones ever did. [40:46] That's high praise, Nathan. [40:49] Yeah, absolutely. [40:50] All right, let's get into this final middleweight fight. Shaquille Thompson, Dr. Steel, Queensbury debut against Brad Pauls, former British champion. [41:00] And Frank, I'm actually going to get a word from you on this because I think there's a lot of implications with the IBF. [41:06] Shaquille's very, very highly rated with the IBF here. It looks like there's a lot on the line on Saturday. [41:11] There is for both of them. I mean, this is, again, it's an unbelievable fight. They're both very confident fighters, the pair of them. [41:19] They both believe in their abilities and what they feel is going to be their destinies. [41:23] And again, we're going to see something a little bit special, I think, from these. [41:27] You know, every fight on this card is a quality match. Brilliant matchmaking. And this is going to be a great fight. [41:35] Brad Pauls, let's start with you. I read something on your Instagram. It was very simple. [41:40] One win away from changing my life... [41:43] Can we keep it quiet in the back, please, because this is a press conference. [41:46] Sorry, Dave. Go on. [41:50] One win away from changing my... [41:52] in your life yes correct with this sort of fight and what I can get from it it [41:57] will change my whole entire life when I win obviously she kills ranked very very [42:02] highly third or second in the world and it's very very very likely the winners [42:09] gonna go and fight for a world title so to say I'm two fights away from being a [42:14] world champion is crazy and it just adds some extra percent to the motivation [42:19] because this win would change my life I'm just warming away do you think he [42:25] might be underestimating you just the fact that he it looks like he's in a [42:28] tremendous position regardless of whether or not he boxed you but he has [42:32] still chosen to box you possibly I don't know Shaquille personally so I don't [42:37] know if he's the type to overlook anyone but obviously this is an opportunity for [42:42] him to show people what he's about so I'm sure he's took it in both hands and [42:46] he's got to this position cuz he works hard just like myself and [42:50] my [42:51] we're both gonna go and try and change our lives so yeah may the best man win [42:55] Shaquille is that best man gonna be you on Saturday night I'm sure you're gonna [42:59] say yes to that but give us a a bit of an indication as to your thoughts and [43:03] feelings heading into this biggest fight of your career so far yeah 100% I'm the [43:08] better man I'm a better boxer I can beat Brad Paul's anything he wants it to go [43:15] to be honest if he wants to fight we can fight if he wants to box we can box I [43:19] can adapt and switch it up so yeah I'm [43:22] just looking forward to a great fight camps gone really well so yeah man let's [43:27] go this is a step up for you though Shaquille alright I mean brad pauls has [43:32] been in with some of the best been in with Denzel Bentley's been in with Nathan [43:34] Heeney as well and former British Champion you must accept this is quite [43:39] the step up for you yes the step up like you said there's been him with some [43:43] really good fighters but it's a step of that I'm ready for you know I mean it's [43:49] It's not one that I'm shying away from, it's one that I'm here and I'm here to beat and [43:54] make a statement against Brad Pauls. [43:56] It was a fight he wasn't looking forward to in September, he actually didn't want it. [44:01] Him and his previous team rejected the fight when it was with the British Final Eliminator [44:07] but he's now signed with a new manager and they fed him to the lion and I'm hungry. [44:17] Brad you've been fed to the lion on Saturday night. [44:20] Yeah happy about it, that's why I signed with new management for big opportunities [44:24] and they delivered straight away, I want the big fights and this is one of them. [44:29] The big fight was there though. [44:33] More belts, more opportunity, it could have it for the British or have it for a world [44:36] title, what would you pick? [44:39] The fight was there, it was a fight, you fight anyone do you know what I mean, so I didn't [44:44] want to take the fight. [44:45] I'm here, I'm ready. [44:46] I'm glad you're taking it now, they fed you to me. [44:51] Shaquille he's never been stopped before, are you going to be the first man to stop [44:54] Brad Pauls Saturday? [44:55] Yeah. [44:55] Final word to you on this one Brad? [45:00] Enjoy the show Saturday night guys, it's going to be a good fight, everything I've got, I've [45:05] been the underdog before and I've ripped up the script and I can do it again. [45:10] You're not ripping up no script. [45:13] Fantastic stuff, well that is part two of today's press conference, there may be scripts, [45:19] they may get ripped up and we know Johnny Depp's going to be watching all of this as [45:23] well by the way, just to hammer that point home. [45:25] Ade, back to you. [45:26] Thank you very much Dev, that was interesting. [45:33] Shaquille Thompson very very scary, very very big at the weight as well as with Tony [45:37] Bellew last week at the Copper Box and he kept mentioning Shaquille Thompson as a lot [45:42] of people are doing but it's a step up, Brad Pauls let's give him this credit, he's a former [45:46] British champion and as Brad said there, he's surprised a few before and he'll be coming [45:51] to surprise a few again on Saturday. [45:52] 100% that he wears his heart on his sleeve, does Brad Pauls, he's game, he's physically [45:58] strong, he's very very fit, he proved that when he beat Nathan Heaney. [46:03] In that last round, you know, showing that he carries his strength and his power late. [46:07] But yeah, I'm with Tony Bellew, he's a problem, Shaquille Thompson, he really is, he's rangy, [46:12] he's a nightmare. [46:13] Saturday and a scheduled 12 round contest for the vacant EBU European featherweight [46:20] championship and also the WBO Intercontinental, it's the defending champion Francesco Percograndelli [46:31] versus the challenger. [46:32] That's right. [46:33] Liam Davis versus Francesco Percograndelli, Percograndelli coming in, it wasn't supposed [46:42] to be Percograndelli but he's coming, he is the European champion, this is a very good [46:45] replacement. [46:46] And he's had time as well, this isn't just a short notice, he's had a few weeks to get [46:50] ready for this one, so that's a good fight, as is this one, Heaney versus Wolverton. [46:55] Saturday and a 10 round contest for the vacant WBA continental middleweight championship. [47:02] Troll! [47:03] The bread maker, Warburton versus Naked, the hip man, Keating. [47:10] Yeah, and this fight is another one that falls in that bracket of must win, both of [47:15] these have to win. [47:16] If they want ambitions to fight for big meaningful titles once more, then they have to come past [47:24] one another here. [47:25] Yeah, and the narratives change around Heaney, he mentioned it there, there was genuine talk [47:30] of retirement. [47:31] Now, obviously, look, if he wins, he wants to continue. [47:32] He's obviously had spars, hard spars in the gym and he felt like, I've still got something [47:36] left. [47:37] Saturday and a 10 round contest for the vacant IEF international middleweight championship. [47:44] It's Brad Pauls, the nukie bomber, versus Dr. Steel, Shaquille Tuftson. [47:52] And I'm really looking forward to seeing how this one plays out early. [47:55] Brad Pauls is going to have to get close to Shaquille Thompson, but in doing that, you're [48:00] in, you're in range there. [48:01] Although he's... [48:02] He's got long levers, Shaquille Thompson, he can really shorten up the shots. [48:06] He's a very good fighter. [48:08] This one, I think it's going to be really, really good. [48:09] An awful lot on the line. [48:10] You heard Brad Pauls say they're very, very close to something massive. [48:15] And I think that will deliver. [48:16] I think all of the fights will, it's such a good card. [48:19] We were just saying it, wasn't we, out of vision there, how great this is, it's a buzz [48:23] to be involved in this. [48:24] You know what I like about this card, there are so many different stories, so many [48:27] narratives. [48:28] You've mentioned it a few times, must win fights, fights where people that maybe didn't have the TV spot. [48:32] There's a spotlighter on them now, Shaquille Thompson. [48:35] He's talking a good game, but this is the first time he's really under the bright lights [48:38] of a big audience. [48:39] So there's fighters that have something to prove, there's fighters that want world titles, [48:43] there's fighters that if they lose, that's that. [48:45] So many different storylines. [48:46] Yeah, absolutely. [48:47] And for Thompson, you know, how will he deal with this? [48:49] Different, isn't it? [48:50] It's different. [48:51] It is different. [48:52] He's been in there with some good opposition, but this is a step up, for sure, on a very [48:56] big card. [48:57] How can you deal with the nerves? [48:58] You know, this is a new area for him. [49:01] So yeah, I'm looking forward to it. [49:02] A lot of... [49:03] A lot of narratives surrounding all of the fights, and some very good fighters involved. [49:07] One thing about Shaquille as well, obviously, look, he's wearing a big puffer jacket, so [49:10] it's difficult to see about the weight, but he's the biggest 160 pounder I've ever seen. [49:15] Like, how he's making that weight is going to be interesting as well. [49:19] Brad Poole has done this weight many times, and he looks more than natural 160 guy. [49:24] Shaquille Thompson really looks like a guy that should be fighting at light heavyweight. [49:26] He's that big. [49:27] 6'1", 6'2". [49:28] Yeah, it's crazy. [49:29] I mean, he's an absolute... [49:30] He's an animal, isn't he? [49:31] Absolutely. [49:32] He's an animal. [49:33] He's a nightmare. [49:34] What does he call himself? [49:35] The lion? [49:36] Yeah. [49:37] He's just got to be the problem. [49:38] He's got to be the problem. [49:39] But yeah, I like what I'm hearing from Brad Poole, you know, a lot of self-belief there, [49:43] rightly so. [49:44] You know, he's gone in there underdog, and he's ripped up the script, as he said before. [49:48] He's got a style that can be effective if he can get it into play. [49:52] You know, physically strong, as I say, very, very fit. [49:54] But Thompson, I think his ability to be able to shorten the shots, although he's very rangy [49:59] and has these long levers, is very impressive. [50:02] So, yeah, it's a tough task for Poole, but he's got the ability to do it. [50:07] Yeah, very similar. [50:08] I liken Shaquille to Callum Smith in the sense that it's a fight with very long levers, but [50:13] can fight very... [50:14] Yes. [50:15] ...like very, you know, very good up close. [50:17] And Shaquille can make those shots count when he's in close. [50:20] So it's difficult for Brad. [50:21] What do you do? [50:22] Do you stay out of range? [50:23] But you're not out of range because Shaquille's got long hands, or do you risk, as you say, [50:27] going into the wheelhouse and getting hurt? [50:28] I think you try and rough him up, get busy, but it's your entry has to be [50:33] so important. [50:34] So you've got to move your head. [50:35] You've got to be quick on the feet. [50:36] Target the body first. [50:37] Go upstairs. [50:38] A lot of variation with your attacks, and when you get there, you can't just stand in [50:40] front of Shaquille Thompson, who will just take a little step back, and he'll walk you [50:44] onto shots. [50:45] He'll make you fall onto the shot. [50:46] So you've got to work around the target, but, yeah, I think on the flip side, Shaquille [50:50] Thompson, keep it nice and long, you know, get that left hand into play, and then try [50:55] and walk Brad Poole onto the shots. [50:57] I mean, it's a good fight, and I mean, I think Shaquille Thompson, if he was to get through [51:02] Brad Poole's and be on the cusp of a world title, I mean, some of the challengers out [51:06] there, all world champions, they wouldn't want to go near him. [51:08] I was about to say that. [51:09] You look at the middleweight division, and Carlos Adamas has decided to go to 168 now [51:14] because there aren't that many big challengers for him. [51:17] It's almost an open division. [51:18] It's an open division, and if you're Shaquille Thompson, you're thinking that you can swim [51:22] and hang with the big boys. [51:24] We haven't spoke so much, and we're going to throw over to Thomas in a minute, but we've [51:27] not spoke so much about Jermaine Franklin. [51:29] Yes. [51:30] Let's do that now for a minute or so. [51:31] Obviously, coming over here. [51:32] Off the back of, I thought, an okay performance, remember, he fought on the undercut of Canelo [51:37] Crawford. [51:38] It wasn't his best performance, but he got the win. [51:41] The narrative's been that he's going to come and give Moses rounds, and he hates that, [51:44] Jermaine. [51:45] He's thinking, well, I'm not here for rounds. [51:46] I'm here to win. [51:48] He can win. [51:49] I don't think he will, but he can win. [51:50] Yes. [51:51] He's a very good fighter. [51:53] He's got a lovely rhythm to his work, razor sharp hands, very, very quick hands. [52:00] I love the way he slips and slides. [52:01] He moves side to side so well. [52:03] The lateral movement's brilliant. [52:04] The footwork's really good. [52:05] He doesn't over-exaggerate the footwork. [52:08] He has a very good knack of walking fighters onto the shots. [52:11] Take a little step back, and look, it's fractions in this sport, top-level fractions. [52:17] He's just not got over the line, has he, in those big fights, and he'll be thinking, I've [52:20] got the experience here. [52:22] I've got age on my side. [52:24] I've got physical presence. [52:25] He's had a long camp. [52:26] He has had a long camp. [52:27] Is that a good or bad thing? [52:29] Because it's now stretched to 14 weeks. [52:31] Yes. [52:32] It's a 14-week camp without a fight. [52:34] So I had a 14-week camp, and it's about taking your foot off the gas at the correct point. [52:41] You can't go hell for leather for 14 weeks. [52:44] It will not work. [52:45] You'll burn yourself out. [52:46] But he's a very good fighter. [52:48] Inactivity is a problem. [52:50] I know Moses has not been out for a while, but I think when you're fighting a young gun [52:56] like Moses, who's so sharp, so quick with everything that he does, you want activity. [53:01] You want to be under those bright lights. [53:02] You can do all the sparring. [53:03] You can do all the sparring in the world, but nothing replicates being in the ring than [53:06] being in the ring. [53:07] Does he do anything better than Moses? [53:11] Well, it's not so much doing something. [53:13] It's having something, and that's experience. [53:15] It's being in there. [53:16] With an age, I know he's been in there with Dillian White, but it's having those rounds [53:21] under your belt, going the longer distance, and lots of self-belief. [53:26] But as far as attributes are concerned, I mean, another thing as well is hand speed. [53:30] You've got his hand speed. [53:32] Fast hands. [53:33] It's electric. [53:34] It's not even in AJ's hands as well. [53:35] So quick, so quick, and he's just walking past us, not looking in great shape. [53:39] He looks lean. [53:40] He does. [53:41] He looks lean. [53:42] And look, that shows me that they've done the correct things here. [53:44] Is that like a New Balance sign? [53:49] It is. [53:51] But you're going to have to drop a little bit of weight because you want to be as quick [53:55] as you possibly can be when you're facing someone like Moses Osama, the young sharpshooter. [53:59] I can't wait for this one. [54:00] It's a cracker. [54:01] I can't wait for this one. [54:02] This is a good one. [54:03] Remember that was a good one. [54:04] That's the main event. [54:05] Moses Atalma versus Jermaine Franklin. [54:07] You can see our co-main event fighters are on the stage as well. [54:10] Willie Hutchinson versus Ezra Taylor. [54:12] That one is going to catch fire very, very quickly. [54:15] And I think we are now ready to do our main event press conference. [54:19] So correctly this time, let's throw it to Mr. Thomas Treiber. [54:26] Ladies and gentlemen, the Magnificent Seven will be live worldwide on DAZN. [54:33] And at this time, let's welcome our co-main event participants. [54:39] They will be competing Saturday in a Schedule 10 round contest. [54:44] And it will be for the WBA Continental and vacant WBO Global Light Heavyweight Championships. [54:53] Let's welcome first the challenger from Carstairs, Scotland, Willie the Hutch Train Hutchinson. [55:01] And we welcome. [55:05] Let's welcome the defending champion from Nottingham, England, Ezra the Cannon Taylor. [55:14] And our highly anticipated main event. [55:21] Ten rounds scheduled for the WBA International and WBO Intercontinental Heavyweight Championships. [55:29] We will welcome now the challenger from Saginaw, Michigan, USA. [55:37] Nine eight nine assassin, Jermaine Franklin. [55:42] And we welcome the highly ranked defending champion from Chatham, Kent, England, Moses Atalma. [55:55] And now we hand things back over to your host, Mr. Dev Sani. [56:02] Thank you. [56:03] Thank you very much, Thomas Treiber. [56:05] Well, the anticipation is building the final part of today's press conference, and it doesn't get more magnificent than this. [56:12] Two fights that have very much got the world talking. [56:16] Ezra Taylor and Willie Hutchinson, both of these have talked the talk. [56:20] There's been beef, there's been needle, but who can walk the walk on Saturday night? [56:25] Can't wait to get stuck into that one and find out. [56:28] And then, of course, we've got the main event. [56:31] At just 21 years old and after just 26 rounds of boxing, many are saying that Moses Atalma is the future of heavyweight boxing. [56:40] But as with any young fighter, [56:42] on that rise, questions need to be asked and those credentials, they need to be examined. [56:48] Jermaine Franklin is not just here to ask questions and examine credentials. [56:54] He is here to shock the world and become the face of American heavyweight boxing. [56:59] That is your main event on Saturday night in the heavyweight division. [57:03] All, of course, live around the world on the global home of boxing, DAZN. [57:08] Now, Frank, I'm going to bring you in here straight away. [57:10] I mean, such a wonderful event. [57:11] Thank you very much. [57:12] Wonderful card. [57:13] But one of the hallmarks of your career has been your ability to guide a young fighter to the top of the sport. [57:20] How are you feeling about this challenge for Moses on Saturday? [57:24] Well, it's a pleasure and an honor to be doing it. [57:26] And this fight on Saturday is a big, big moment in his career. [57:30] He's in with Jermaine to my left, and Jermaine is very well respected in the business. [57:36] He's a, I mean, he's a campaigner. [57:40] He's been there, done it. [57:42] He's got a wealth of experience that's going to put some test and some questions to Moses. [57:51] You know, he's only, what is it? [57:53] He's had 26 fights. [57:55] He's lost two. [57:56] The two he lost, he went the distance against a two-time world champion, big puncher in AJ, as we all know. [58:04] And he couldn't knock him over, couldn't get rid of him. [58:07] And the fight he had with Dillion, or two fights he had with Dillion, you know, a lot of people felt that he won one of those. [58:14] He won the fight. [58:15] They felt that he was the winner. [58:17] So Moses knows what he's got in front of him. [58:19] He knows he's in with an experienced guy who's got, as I say, who's going to, in my opinion, is going to take the fight to him and he's going to try and old man him. [58:27] He's got to show that he's not just a one-trick pony. [58:31] That he does have other attributes in his locker and that he can box as well as he can punch. [58:37] And I believe he can do that. [58:39] But, you know, this is by no means a foregone conclusion. [58:42] And for Moses, this is, I think... [58:46] I think it's his toughest test yet, by far. [58:48] And just a word on the Chief Support. [58:50] I mean, the world is talking. [58:52] They have been talking in the build-up. [58:54] That's one that we are really anticipating on Saturday night. [58:58] Well, they're both world-ranked fighters. [59:01] And, you know, Willie, he's got himself well and truly together. [59:07] And he's had a real renaissance. [59:09] And he's been exciting to watch. [59:11] And with Ezra, you know, he's undefeated, 13-0. [59:15] And this is a big step up. [59:16] For him, as far as the amount of fights that he's had. [59:19] But this is a great fight. [59:21] Again, it's all about quality, quality matchmaking. [59:25] Every guy who's signed up for this is here to fight. [59:28] Every one of them believes in themselves. [59:30] Every one of them knows that they come through this, they get on to bigger and better things. [59:35] That is what's so good about the Magnificent Seven. [59:38] It's such a great concept. [59:40] And it brings out the best of the fighters. [59:42] Great stuff. [59:43] Well, before we speak to the fighters, [59:45] let me bring in Alfie Shulman. [59:46] From DAZN. [59:47] I mean, it's DAZN's first taste of this Magnificent Seven format. [59:52] I bet you can't wait. [59:53] Yeah, thanks, Dev. [59:54] I can't wait. [59:55] Clues in the name. [59:56] And, you know, testament to Frank and Queensborough's legacy in the sport. [1:00:00] This format is still going very strong. [1:00:02] And to Frank's point, it's a great window for some of the biggest talent in the world. [1:00:08] And we're looking forward to putting it on to fight fans in over 200 markets. [1:00:13] You know, I think there's a lot of noise, rightfully so, being made about the main event. [1:00:17] But, obviously, we have Ezra and Willie up here, which is equally a fantastic fight. [1:00:22] Top to bottom, some amazing shows, some unbelievable talent, which we're really looking forward [1:00:26] to broadcasting worldwide, as I say. [1:00:29] Listen, Moses Itauma's impact on the heavyweight scene already has been remarkable. [1:00:35] His potential is endless. [1:00:37] I think we can all agree with that. [1:00:39] And we're fully, fully excited about seeing that unfold. [1:00:42] But Jermaine Franklin, to Frank's point, is no journeyman. [1:00:45] You know, I think, obviously, Moses and his team [1:00:47] respect and will have prepared for Jermaine based on his experience. [1:00:52] But for the fight fans out there, this is somebody who's never been knocked out. [1:00:55] And, obviously, Moses Itauma pretty much exclusively knocked people out. [1:00:59] So, something's got to shift on Saturday night. [1:01:01] This is his toughest fight to date. [1:01:03] Do not miss it. [1:01:04] Just very quickly, I want to talk about how this starts off heavyweight season on DAZN. [1:01:09] Obviously, massive heavyweight show this weekend. [1:01:11] We have Derek Ward, Chisora versus Deontay Wilder. [1:01:14] And Icon will fall next Saturday, April 4th. [1:01:17] We have, on May 9th, the world heavyweight champion, Fabio Wardley, [1:01:21] facing off against the returning, very recent IBF heavyweight champion, [1:01:25] Daniel Dynamite Dubois for an all-British knockout showdown all on DAZN. [1:01:32] Lots of other shows in there as well. [1:01:34] Obviously, Lawrence Okoli, Tony Oka, Alexander Usyk is returning in May as well. [1:01:38] All of these fights are available on our newly launched DAZN Ultimate plan, [1:01:41] which is the place to come and watch boxing. [1:01:44] No additional cost. [1:01:45] Fights all in one place. [1:01:47] I'm a boxing fan. [1:01:48] Of course, I would say this, I'm the marketing lead at DAZN, [1:01:50] but it truly is the best deal in market for boxing fans to head to the global home of boxing [1:01:55] and get your fix because the coming weeks on DAZN are, frankly, unrivaled [1:01:59] and something I've never seen before. [1:02:00] So back to Saturday. [1:02:02] I wish everyone on the card the very best of luck, top to bottom. [1:02:04] And we'll see you all there worldwide live only on DAZN. [1:02:08] Good stuff. [1:02:09] Thank you very much, Alfie. [1:02:10] Okay, let's get into these fights. [1:02:12] Willie Hutchinson and Ezra Taylor, [1:02:15] one that I'm sure everyone is familiar with. [1:02:17] Everyone in here is looking forward to. [1:02:19] And Willie Hutchinson, you haven't stopped smiling all week. [1:02:23] You've talked about how this man here is easy money. [1:02:26] Money in the back. [1:02:27] Too big of a step up. [1:02:29] Tell us how you're feeling going into Saturday. [1:02:31] Definitely. [1:02:32] Hello, everybody. [1:02:33] Ezra's all looking very happy and dapper like me today. [1:02:37] I'm looking forward to this fight now. [1:02:40] I've worked very, very hard. [1:02:43] And I believe it is easy money. [1:02:47] It's easy money in the bank. [1:02:49] And I'm just looking forward to getting in there [1:02:51] and just getting the job done, to be honest with you, [1:02:53] and move on to the next one. [1:02:55] It's lingering about too long for my likings. [1:02:57] And, yeah, it's here now, two days away. [1:03:01] And, Ezra, feel free to come in at any time here. [1:03:04] Willie, you told me last night that you're actually going to end Ezra Taylor's career, [1:03:08] that he can't come back at 31 years old after this loss that he suffers to you. [1:03:12] Well, it's not about losing to me. [1:03:15] I think this man can get seriously hurt that no one can see. [1:03:17] And time will tell on Saturday night, won't it? [1:03:20] But I do believe he can get severely, really hurt. [1:03:23] And he's not a young pup, is he? [1:03:25] This man's 31-year-old. [1:03:27] I mean, if you're not getting past this, [1:03:29] unless you want to just become Commonwealth and British champion [1:03:32] or something like that, then all the best. [1:03:33] Good luck to you. [1:03:35] But apart from that, yeah, I believe I will do the job on him. [1:03:40] And, yeah, it's up to him if he wants to keep boxing or not. [1:03:44] It's up to you, Ezra. [1:03:46] What are your thoughts? [1:03:47] Listen, I just want to give all the glory to him. [1:03:49] Glory to God, man. [1:03:50] Jesus loves me and my team. [1:03:51] I want to say thank you to Frank, George, Lee, [1:03:54] everyone who's helped make this happen. [1:03:58] I'll be honest, man. [1:03:59] It's not about him anymore, man. [1:04:00] It's about me. [1:04:01] I put myself through hell. [1:04:03] I go through darkness, uncomfortability, sacrifices. [1:04:06] And this man essentially is trying to take that away from me, [1:04:09] the reward that I deserve, the win that I deserve. [1:04:11] You're trying to take that away from me. [1:04:13] And that can't happen. [1:04:15] In the world that we live in, the air that we breathe, that can't happen. [1:04:18] I've worked way too hard. [1:04:19] Me and my team sacrificed way too much. [1:04:21] And I'm here not to just become a world champion. [1:04:24] I'm here to be the best in the world, you know. [1:04:27] And I stand on it. [1:04:29] And on Saturday, you'll see glimpses of why I say this as well. [1:04:33] One of the things that Willie Hutchinson has said in the build-up to this [1:04:36] is that he boxes to find peace. [1:04:39] That's where he feels most at peace. [1:04:41] Will he find peace in the ring with you on Saturday night? [1:04:44] It's going to be quite the opposite, unfortunately, quite the contrary. [1:04:47] It doesn't really make any sense to try to fight for peace [1:04:50] in that sense. [1:04:51] That's why a war doesn't make sense, Dev. [1:04:53] Peace to us now, Dev, if you want to know the honest truth. [1:04:55] I'm calm, cool, and collective. [1:04:57] And to be honest with you, I'm still searching for more of it [1:05:00] because I can't get enough of it. [1:05:02] Because as we all know, I'm a very extreme person, aren't I? [1:05:08] So I've got to keep good. [1:05:11] And you're right. [1:05:14] That's exactly why I'm searching for. [1:05:16] I'm searching for peace and happiness. [1:05:18] And this man will bring it to me on Saturday night. [1:05:20] I'll be very happy. [1:05:21] I'll get myself home to my little baby that I've never seen in six weeks. [1:05:25] I was there when she was born and I had to leave for camp. [1:05:29] I was gone four days, five days after she was born. [1:05:33] I've never seen her since. [1:05:34] So he's talking about sacrifices and all that. [1:05:36] This man hasn't got a clue, man. [1:05:38] This man's training for half an hour away from wherever he lives. [1:05:41] He hasn't got a clue. [1:05:43] He's talking about, I don't know, darkness and this and that. [1:05:46] What would he know about darkness and this and that? [1:05:48] Let's be completely honest. [1:05:49] Listen. [1:05:50] I wish you all the best. [1:05:52] I hope we both come out healthy and well. [1:05:56] But you're all getting your ass whipped, Seabass. [1:05:59] You see what this is? [1:06:02] I just feel like this boy's unsettled, man. [1:06:08] And I've got to call him my boy at this point. [1:06:10] You're all getting whipped, Seabass. [1:06:12] I don't know what to say. [1:06:14] It feels like one of those Christmas movies you watch back in the day. [1:06:16] You feel like he just should be in it. [1:06:18] He's something different. [1:06:19] But like I said, this is not really about him. [1:06:21] Exactly, Dev. [1:06:22] I'm something different. [1:06:23] It's about me. [1:06:24] I'm something different. [1:06:25] He thinks he's the real deal. [1:06:27] And if he was the real deal, he wouldn't be fighting me, unfortunately. [1:06:29] The difference is, is I don't think it. [1:06:31] I know it. [1:06:32] It doesn't make any sense. [1:06:33] Because why are you here? [1:06:34] You shouldn't be fighting me, brother. [1:06:35] You shouldn't be fighting me. [1:06:37] Why? [1:06:38] I'm on my way up. [1:06:39] You're on your way down. [1:06:40] You shouldn't. [1:06:41] If you was the real deal and you said you was where I was. [1:06:43] How can I be on my way down? [1:06:44] Then if you do the maths, you shouldn't be here. [1:06:45] I'm 27 years old. [1:06:47] I'm absolutely handsome. [1:06:48] I'm in the prime of my life. [1:06:49] I've got muscles and bristles pumping out my body. [1:06:52] I've never looked as good in my life. [1:06:54] I'm ready to rock and roll. [1:06:56] Let's go, baby. [1:06:58] Show me the money. [1:07:02] I ain't got nothing more to say on that, man. [1:07:04] I'm done. [1:07:05] I ain't got time for that. [1:07:06] If I could drop this mic, I would. [1:07:07] But I don't want to damage equipment. [1:07:08] Listen. [1:07:09] I've been putting in mad work. [1:07:11] I really go through this. [1:07:13] I really live this lifestyle. [1:07:14] You know, I'm on a search for. [1:07:16] He's on a search for peace. [1:07:18] I'm on a search for finding more discipline. [1:07:20] Trying to live my life like a professional. [1:07:21] That's what we call ourselves over here. [1:07:23] The professionals. [1:07:24] And we've been doing everything. [1:07:26] And on Saturday, you will see a professional performance as well. [1:07:28] Can I say one more thing? [1:07:29] Go for it. [1:07:30] And everyone remember this? [1:07:32] This man asked for this. [1:07:35] I never asked for it. [1:07:36] He's the only person at the time that we could fight on that date. [1:07:40] Let's all remember it. [1:07:41] And he asked for me. [1:07:42] So, his dad or his uncle or whatever he is over there, ain't got a clue either. [1:07:49] All I'm saying is, but I don't wish no harm to you. [1:07:54] And let's have a good, good night. [1:07:56] God bless. [1:07:58] Thank you, Willie. [1:08:01] Thank you, Ezra. [1:08:02] Members of the press, you'll get your opportunity very shortly as well to ask a few questions. [1:08:07] Once it quietens down a little. [1:08:09] Let's talk about this main event then. [1:08:11] Moses Etauma, 21 years old. [1:08:14] Anointed already as a future king of the division. [1:08:17] Taking on Jermaine Franklin, a very stern. [1:08:20] Well, people are calling him the test. [1:08:22] And I'm going to start with that. [1:08:24] I'm going to start with you, Jermaine Franklin. [1:08:26] Because that's been the narrative going into this fight. [1:08:28] Every time people ask you questions, it's about, [1:08:31] can you take him round? [1:08:33] How do you feel about being his test? [1:08:35] How's that made you feel going into Saturday night? [1:08:38] I mean, I feel disrespected by it. [1:08:40] But you know, it's part of the game. [1:08:42] I'm used to the politics. [1:08:43] I'm used to the tricks everybody does. [1:08:44] So, you know, I'm just ready to fight. [1:08:47] And Moses, I mean, for such a long time now, [1:08:50] you've just been scheduled to fight Jermaine Franklin. [1:08:53] How has it been in the build-up for you? [1:08:55] Because you get asked about every other heavyweight. [1:08:58] And you've still got to focus on this man on Saturday. [1:09:00] To be honest, I've been turning the questions around. [1:09:02] When they keep asking me about other heavyweights. [1:09:04] Because I have a serious, serious opponent in Jermaine Franklin. [1:09:08] We've asked for this fight, what's it like, [1:09:11] a year and a half or something like that. [1:09:13] So, now we've got it. [1:09:17] I feel like this is like the kind of final piece to the puzzle. [1:09:20] There's kind of, there's questions that my team wants to know about me. [1:09:27] There's questions that I want to know about myself. [1:09:29] And I'm sure that there's a lot of questions [1:09:31] that the family wants to know about me as well. [1:09:33] So, I feel like Jermaine Franklin is the final piece to the puzzle. [1:09:38] So, when I get asked about other fighters, [1:09:44] that's not going to happen if I don't get through Jermaine Franklin. [1:09:47] So, this is a serious fight. [1:09:49] And I'm looking forward to it. [1:09:51] But I'm very, very disappointed that I can't watch Willie versus Ezra. [1:09:56] Because it seems exciting. [1:09:58] Okay, plenty of questions will be asked on Saturday. [1:10:00] We've got some questions actually from the press now as well. [1:10:03] We've got Matt running around with a roaming mic. [1:10:06] When you do get the mic, say who you are representing [1:10:09] and ask your question, please. [1:10:11] Martin Dolman, Daily Mirror. [1:10:13] Moses, one of the promos for this fight had a couple of guys [1:10:16] talking about Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. [1:10:19] Can you see why people might think of you in that light [1:10:22] in, let's say, 10 years' time? [1:10:30] Yes and no. [1:10:32] Listen, the past and the future doesn't exist. [1:10:35] It's only the present. [1:10:37] As of right now in the present, it looks like I'm doing my thing. [1:10:42] So, when them comparisons are being made, [1:10:46] it puts a lot of pressures on my shoulder. [1:10:48] But I guess it's necessary. [1:10:50] I'm pretty sure when Messi and Ronaldo were going through [1:10:54] their little stages in their career, they felt the same way. [1:10:56] So, I have to kind of push it to one side and do my thing. [1:11:00] Are you Team Messi or Team Ronaldo? [1:11:04] Ronaldo. [1:11:09] Ezio Mbassi from Ezio Talk Sports. [1:11:10] Moses, you have a lot of expectations on you. [1:11:12] You know, even in this fight, people are talking about, you know, [1:11:15] you need to get him out in the first half of the fight. [1:11:17] Do you like the fact that, you know, everyone rates you so highly, [1:11:20] everyone expects so much from you? [1:11:21] Or would you rather just people just kind of let you do your thing? [1:11:24] I'd rather be the underdog of a fight. [1:11:26] I'd rather be the underdog. [1:11:28] But I ask for it. [1:11:32] Obviously, I can't put the performances on that I have [1:11:35] and not expect people to have such high expectations of me. [1:11:38] So, I've asked for it. [1:11:40] Would I like to live in a different world? [1:11:43] Probably, but it's necessary. [1:11:48] It's necessary pressure. [1:11:49] And secondly, you said against Dillian White you looked in his eyes [1:11:52] and you wanted to see if he was a wolf or a sheep. [1:11:55] I'm not sure if you've had the chance to look in Jermaine Franklin's eyes, [1:11:58] but what have you seen? [1:11:59] Do you know what? [1:12:01] I'm going to be completely honest. [1:12:02] I see more in Jermaine Franklin's eyes than I've seen in a lot of [1:12:08] previous opponents. [1:12:10] So, I know he's ready and I want to be there. [1:12:14] Hi, Moses. [1:12:17] You said that you were... [1:12:18] It's all a question. [1:12:19] It's just for me. [1:12:22] You said you specifically requested Jermaine. [1:12:28] Why? [1:12:31] Like I said, Jermaine Franklin, all the attributes that he possesses, [1:12:37] they're still question marks for myself. [1:12:40] Like, people are wondering if I've got a chin [1:12:44] or people are wondering if I can go the distance. [1:12:47] Jermaine Franklin, that's what he's known for. [1:12:51] He's known for taking people the distance, giving them tough fights. [1:12:55] So, like I said, I feel like this is the final piece of the puzzle. [1:12:57] I've not overlooked him. [1:12:59] I know a lot of people are expecting me to do X, Y, Z, [1:13:02] but I don't pay no attention to that. [1:13:04] It doesn't do me any favors. [1:13:06] Like I said, this is a serious fight on Jermaine Franklin, and I can't wait. [1:13:11] Yeah, he's got, as Frank pointed out to me, he's got 15 KOs on his record. [1:13:18] And not only that, he's 32 years old. [1:13:20] This isn't a washed up has-been. [1:13:24] Like, 32, he's coming to the peak, or he's just in his peak right now. [1:13:28] So, I feel like I said, this is a perfect fight for myself. [1:13:31] Jermaine, coming from... [1:13:34] Yeah, Aimee Khan with seconds out. [1:13:35] Jermaine, coming from Detroit, like you have, [1:13:37] not very many people get to the top level of sport. [1:13:40] How do you feel your partner in the other corner, Moses Woodfair, [1:13:44] growing up in Detroit, do you think he'd have the opportunities [1:13:46] that he'd be afforded if he was coming from where you come from? [1:13:49] Can you repeat that for me? [1:13:51] Not many people get to top levels of the sport [1:13:54] coming from where you come from in Detroit. [1:13:56] If your partner in the other corner, Moses, was growing up in Detroit, [1:13:59] do you feel he would be afforded the same opportunities that you had? [1:14:03] Could you flourish like you have coming out from there? [1:14:06] Well, I'm from Saginaw, Michigan. [1:14:09] Sorry. [1:14:10] Yeah, I mean, anybody that works hard, put the work in, [1:14:13] put the time in and, you know, dedicate themselves, [1:14:15] I think he'd have the same opportunities. [1:14:17] Question for Frank. [1:14:19] Matchmaking talents like you have with Willie and Ezra [1:14:24] and finding talents like Moses are two of the hallmarks of success for you [1:14:28] as a promoter throughout the year. [1:14:29] Yeah. [1:14:30] I mean, you've been a promoter for decades. [1:14:32] Where do you rate this standard of card you're stable in [1:14:35] amongst the new landscape of promoters, [1:14:37] where emerging promoters are coming in [1:14:39] and trying to disrupt the current landscape of the sport? [1:14:42] Where do I rate all these guys and where we are today? [1:14:45] Yeah. [1:14:46] Well, we're in... [1:14:47] Queensbury are in a brilliant position. [1:14:49] I think we're the leading promoter. [1:14:51] I think we're putting on competitive shows time after time, selling out. [1:14:55] We sold out in Germany with Ajit. [1:14:59] We sold out in Dublin. [1:15:01] Magnificent atmosphere in both those shows. [1:15:04] We're nigh on sold out here. [1:15:06] We only have a few left. [1:15:07] If you want tickets, go to Ticketmaster. [1:15:09] We've got some fabulous fights coming up. [1:15:11] We're keeping this heavyweight division going. [1:15:14] We're making big fights all the time. [1:15:16] This is... [1:15:17] You know, whether they're older guys like next week, [1:15:20] you've got Derek Chisora in next week, [1:15:24] and that's... [1:15:25] You know, he's probably one of the guys on the way out. [1:15:28] These are... [1:15:29] You know, Moses is one of the guys on the way in. [1:15:32] We've got sitting here Jermaine, [1:15:33] somebody who wants to get back to the big table. [1:15:37] He's at the table now, but he wants to get on and get the big fight. [1:15:40] This is an opportunity to fight a guy who's ranked number one [1:15:43] and probably the top three in the other divisions in the world. [1:15:47] We are flying. [1:15:48] Boxing is flying here. [1:15:50] We are not broke. [1:15:51] We are continually putting on big, quality, great shows [1:15:57] that the fans are buying tickets for. [1:15:59] And that's because of these fighters. [1:16:01] They're great fighters. [1:16:03] They come through the system, the ones that start off with us. [1:16:06] Some come later in their careers. [1:16:08] But we deliver time and time again and make sure we do it. [1:16:11] And for me, it's just a pleasure. [1:16:14] I mean, the next few weeks, we're not stopping. [1:16:16] Every week, we've got a big show. [1:16:18] And they're all doing extremely well. [1:16:20] So where are we? [1:16:22] Queensbury? [1:16:23] We're flying. [1:16:24] We're on a great channel, DAZN, Global Home of Boxing, [1:16:27] where you're going to see the best fights [1:16:29] and you're going to see the best of the heavyweights. [1:16:32] Because the best of the heavyweights, bar one man, are with us. [1:16:37] And that one man's going to have to fight our guys. [1:16:41] When he's had his kickboxing fight, he's going to have to fight our guys. [1:16:45] That's what's going to happen. [1:16:46] So we're flying, and you're getting the benefit [1:16:49] because you're going to see some brilliant fights. [1:16:51] And I'm telling you, Saturday is going to be something special. [1:16:55] Question for Jermaine Franklin. [1:17:05] Great fight this week, live on DAZN, by the way. [1:17:08] Jermaine. [1:17:09] What do you think about people saying that Moses is taking this fight [1:17:12] to see if he can stop you because you haven't been stopped? [1:17:16] And that's the reason why this fight's happening. [1:17:18] I mean, people are going to feel how they feel. [1:17:20] You know, people can have their own opinions or whatever. [1:17:23] But, you know, I know what I come to do. [1:17:25] I know what I can do. [1:17:26] So I'm not too much worried about how people feel or their opinions. [1:17:29] Where does Moses rank in the opponents before you fought him [1:17:32] that you've already fought? [1:17:34] Joshua, Dylan White, et cetera? [1:17:36] I mean, he's ranked up there. [1:17:39] He's ranked top in the division. [1:17:40] So, you know, he's the top-ranked opponent. [1:17:43] No more questions. [1:17:49] That was, of course, Coogan Cassius from IFL TV, [1:17:52] who didn't say his name. [1:17:53] But we all know your voice, Coogan. [1:17:55] We all know your voice. [1:17:56] So final one to both of you guys. [1:17:59] Oh, you've still got one more. [1:18:00] Go on, jump in. [1:18:01] Is this on? [1:18:02] Yeah. [1:18:03] You know Ezra Taylor and Willie Hutchinson? [1:18:05] Could we just address why this fight happened as well? [1:18:09] IFL TV. [1:18:10] Thank you. [1:18:11] You didn't credit us, so I've got credit myself. [1:18:13] And Joe Puma as well. [1:18:14] You're not getting paid. [1:18:15] I don't know why you keep mentioning it. [1:18:17] All right, Uncle Frank, I'm sending you an invoice in the morning. [1:18:19] Lee told me he made the fight. [1:18:21] We did make the fight. [1:18:22] Did we not? [1:18:23] Lee? [1:18:24] Who, Ethan? [1:18:25] No. [1:18:26] We made this fight. [1:18:27] And everyone knows we made this fight. [1:18:28] We appreciate all you do for us. [1:18:30] We made the fight. [1:18:32] Who's going to disagree with me? [1:18:33] We made the fight. [1:18:34] With Ethan. [1:18:36] Shut up, Lee. [1:18:37] We made this fight. [1:18:38] Joe Puma actually made this fight, to be honest. [1:18:40] Anyway, let's move on. [1:18:42] Shut up, Lee. [1:18:43] Thank you. [1:18:44] Thank you very much, Coogan. [1:18:45] Thank you, Joe Puma. [1:18:46] Saw you acting as security that night as well. [1:18:47] It was fantastic. [1:18:48] Fantastic work. [1:18:49] Final word to Moses Atalma and Jermaine Franklin. [1:18:51] Moses, what's going to happen in there on Saturday night? [1:18:54] A masterclass of boxing performance. [1:18:58] And Jermaine, yourself, what's going to happen in there on Saturday? [1:19:03] A war. [1:19:04] I'm prepared for any day. [1:19:05] He said a war. [1:19:07] War. [1:19:09] That's what he said. [1:19:10] OK, ladies and gentlemen, that concludes our press conference. [1:19:13] We're going to get these fighters faced off down the front. [1:19:17] Ade, Darren, over to you. [1:19:23] That was interesting. [1:19:24] At times, intense from Jermaine Franklin. [1:19:27] I felt. [1:19:28] I've interviewed Jermaine a few times, and he has said to me personally, he feels a [1:19:32] bit disrespected. [1:19:33] And I think he's going to come in here and put on a really good performance. [1:19:35] It's going to be the best performance. [1:19:36] Whether or not that's enough to get the W on Saturday, that's a whole different discussion. [1:19:40] But I do think we are going to see a good Jermaine Franklin. [1:19:42] Yeah, I think so. [1:19:43] He knows what's on the line, what could possibly be next, and who he's in with. [1:19:47] Yeah. [1:19:48] First off, sign me up for a war. [1:19:50] You know, if he was able to drag Moses Atalma into what he believes is a war, it would be [1:19:56] so intriguing, wouldn't it? [1:19:58] Yes. [1:19:59] To have so many questions answered, finally. [1:20:03] But this one is a cracker. [1:20:06] Look at the size of them for light heavyweights. [1:20:11] I mean, what's happened to everyone? [1:20:13] They've only just grown a few inches. [1:20:15] The challenger will be the Trey Hutchinson versus the defending champion, Ezra the Tennis [1:20:24] Tamer. [1:20:25] Two very, very strong fighters. [1:20:29] Two very, very confident individuals, really is, who are very close to... [1:20:34] Look, this is the WBO global title. [1:20:36] You know, you're very close to Dimitri Bivol then, you know? [1:20:40] So... [1:20:42] Yeah. [1:20:43] And a bit like I mentioned earlier with the heavyweights being kind of old, there's a [1:20:46] generation of heavyweights that are going to go, Bivol and Maturbev are not going to go [1:20:49] on forever. [1:20:50] Yes. [1:20:51] So there's going to be some guys that need to step up. [1:20:52] And Ezra could be one of those guys. [1:20:53] Willy could be one of those guys as well. [1:20:55] And this is our main event. [1:20:57] Remember, this was supposed to happen in the back end of January. [1:20:59] It happens on Saturday. [1:21:01] Moses and Tamer unbeaten. [1:21:02] Jermaine Franklin, 24 wins. [1:21:03] I think people forget that 15 knockouts. [1:21:04] Just the two defeats, one of those, you know, subjective against D and White. [1:21:05] Both men looking in good shape. [1:21:06] It's the challenger, the 989 assassin, Jermaine Franklin versus the defending champion, Moses [1:21:07] and Tamer. [1:21:08] And the winner of the match is... [1:21:09] I don't know, I don't know. [1:21:10] I don't know. [1:21:11] I don't know. [1:21:12] I don't know. [1:21:13] I don't know. [1:21:14] I don't know. [1:21:15] I don't know. [1:21:16] I don't know. [1:21:17] I don't know. [1:21:18] I don't know. [1:21:19] I don't know. [1:21:20] I don't know. [1:21:21] I don't know. [1:21:22] I don't know. [1:21:23] I don't know. [1:21:24] I don't know. [1:21:25] I don't know. [1:21:26] I don't know. [1:21:27] I don't know. [1:21:28] I don't know. [1:21:29] I don't know. [1:21:33] I don't know. [1:21:34] I don't know. [1:21:35] I don't know. [1:21:36] I don't know. [1:21:37] I don't know. [1:21:38] I don't know. [1:21:39] I don't know. [1:21:40] I don't know. [1:21:41] I don't know. [1:21:42] I don't know. [1:21:43] I don't know. [1:21:44] I don't know. [1:21:45] I don't know. [1:21:46] I don't know. [1:21:47] I don't know. [1:21:48] I don't know. [1:21:49] I don't know. [1:21:50] I don't know. [1:21:51] I don't know. [1:21:52] I don't know. [1:21:53] I don't know. [1:21:54] I don't know. [1:21:55] I don't know. [1:21:56] I don't know. [1:21:57] come in i think now both fighters have kind of turned that switch on they're ready moses looks [1:22:03] like he's still growing he looks big doesn't he i was thinking exactly that look jermaine franklin [1:22:08] biggest of heavyweights but yeah he seems to me as if he's still growing and i remember seeing moses [1:22:14] and i remember thinking you're not big enough for heavyweight obviously i was very wrong he's very [1:22:19] much a heavyweight fighter in today's modern heavyweights it's about 230 240. it's a great [1:22:25] card though isn't it it really is top to bottom so much talent even before the main broadcast it [1:22:30] really really is exciting using nelson virtual but you know so much meaning in all of these fights [1:22:37] you know the the winners really push on the losers it's going to be absolutely devastated you know [1:22:42] the extremes of this sport are just that you know winning's great losing is so damaging in your [1:22:49] career but yeah there's a spotlight a big light shining on all of these on saturday night yeah [1:22:55] all the fights are going to be great there's a lot of big fights coming up in the coming days [1:22:55] as something to prove all the fighters have something to lose as well most of the time [1:22:59] is going to join us right now moses how are you my man how are you feeling brother good [1:23:06] i'm blessed yeah well i can't complain ready to go yeah man it's been a long one hasn't it [1:23:11] it's been a long 14 week fight camp really it's been 14 weeks but we're here we're ready and um [1:23:20] it might be a blessing in disguise yeah moses obviously and it's been like this since you [1:23:26] turned professional lots of external noise it will celebrate you as the next future star of [1:23:31] this division are you still intrigued yourself to see how good you are no because i know how [1:23:40] good i am i'm intrigued on how i perform under the lights um i've proved i proved myself countless of [1:23:48] times inspiring just not on the night so training when no one's there and training on the bright [1:23:54] lights is it's we're fighting on the right lights it's two different things so it's [1:23:59] more it's more about coping with the expectations the pressure the cameras because i know i know what [1:24:04] i'm capable of do you enjoy it though to an extent as well obviously this pressure is a privilege [1:24:11] because people know how good you are do you feed off that in a positive manner do i have to enjoy [1:24:16] something to be good at it oh that's a very good response yeah no not really no you don't know [1:24:23] i don't know i just we actually had this debate with my with my snc coach yesterday because he was [1:24:29] saying that you have to love it and you need to exercise it's not it's that's i don't i guess the [1:24:35] man that i don't know created concrete i don't think he had a solid fashion for to get on me [1:24:41] yeah a solid passion for it so the same way i believe if you're good at something and you're [1:24:46] better than everyone else yeah you'll find a bit of joy in it but you ain't got to join the whole [1:24:49] thing let me ask you this then is there anything else in your life that gives you the same [1:24:53] satisfaction as getting your arm raised in a boxing ring the thing is see i don't want to feel like i'm [1:25:01] much but in order to know a sunny days you need to know what rainy day is in order to appreciate [1:25:07] money to not have money yeah i've never experienced a loss so i don't really know what it's like to [1:25:13] win because that's just all i want i'm known yeah so for me it's just i got a task and i've got to [1:25:20] do it there's nothing else i don't really care about winning or losing i'm just sticking i'm [1:25:27] just care about sticking to the game plan before i let you go they're in my ears and moses has got [1:25:30] to go have you noticed the different jermaine franklin we did the face off and it was very [1:25:34] it was calm it was relaxed right i didn't think he even really made eye contact with you that much [1:25:39] during that face off i feel like now he seems locked in honestly i don't care i don't care [1:25:47] whether he's game or whether he's not game like it doesn't make a difference because like i'm only [1:25:52] worried about what i'm gonna do yeah and i think we know what you're gonna do moses good luck [1:25:56] what do you think what do i think you're gonna do damage interesting agreed damage you're probably [1:26:04] right thank you very much [1:26:06] do it [1:26:08] right at the end you're probably right yeah yeah yeah he knows what he's capable of doing yeah i [1:26:13] think i think we all do and i i say that he's gonna do damage and no disrespect to jermaine [1:26:18] franklin because i'm a big fan of jermaine franklin it's more a case of we all know how [1:26:23] good this talent is yes here and it's up to him yes it's up to him and i've said this as well i [1:26:28] mean 21 i mean the noise surrounding him must be just crazy if he can lock all that in we might [1:26:35] have something very very special absolutely [1:26:38] jermaine franklin i don't want anybody to think we're overlooking it no he isn't as a fighter moses [1:26:43] and nor are we it's just you know i've been around this sport a long long time very rarely do you come [1:26:48] across a talent like this this is a big opportunity for us to see potentially the next star of this [1:26:53] division but on the flip side jermaine franklin has an awful lot to work with he really does he's [1:26:58] an exceptional fighter and he understands if he wins here his next fight will potentially and [1:27:04] should be for a world title it gets no bigger there you go perfect [1:27:08] way to end look heavyweight season that's what they're calling this magnificent seven first and [1:27:12] heavyweight season after this it starts on saturday moses the talma versus jermaine franklin let's not [1:27:17] forget we got wada chizora we got fabio wardley daniel duvall alexander usic and so much more but [1:27:23] it is a great card wayans tomorrow and then fight night on saturday we'll see you for the wayans and [1:27:28] then fabio wardley is going to join us on saturday for fight night what was before the boxing so [1:27:36] before the boxing there wasn't much really because i would have been like eight nine years [1:27:41] old just kind of very bored i had a nigerian father who was adamant on me becoming a doctor [1:27:50] or something so i had to try to find a way to get out of the house boxing was the one that is this [1:27:57] guy now going oh boxing didn't even come into it at first but then it did fight night on the zone [1:28:26] brought to you by that prize guy hey sainsbury's they're growing quicker than my budget any help [1:28:37] well colleagues like charlotte here are always matching prices [1:28:41] or lowering them with vector through cold and rain and tropical sunshine through tropical [1:28:47] sunshine indeed because we're always matching and lowering prices sainsbury's good food for all of us [1:29:18] one time stray dog you've got the instinct now get the training [1:29:26] don't miss italma versus franklin part of the stacked magnificent seven fight
