am but many many years ago but uh i'm looking forward to this this is a a real opportunity for [5:08] dave he's a big ticket seller as we know he's well loved and we thought about this with philip [5:15] because philip we've got to give him a fight he's a queensbury fighter and he needs a fight and uh [5:20] dave was wants to get back into a position to fight for a [5:25] even a bigger fight well tart fight maybe so we thought tell you what let's fulfill his dream [5:31] that he's mentioned in fighting in his hometown in his home stadium so we delivered that so we [5:38] got a big big night on the 16th of may dave v goliath very appropriately named and it's a big [5:46] opportunity for dave to go and do what he feels he can do and he said so i was listening to him [5:52] talking out there and he was saying he's only trained properly for two fights in [5:56] this area and you look at him now this is the fittest i've seen him and he looks really well [6:01] so he's got plenty of time now so you know he's going to be at his best and he's going to have to [6:07] be his best because he's in with a a top class world-class heavyweight and phillip and uh I [6:14] think it's promoter um big moment for Dave Dave versus Goliath what are your thoughts yeah look a [7:10] huge opportunity for him to fight here in his hometown at this stadium I I said when he boxed [7:15] in a six rounder on our show a few weeks ago in Nottingham I've never seen an atmosphere like it [7:20] in my life for a six rounder and it shows how popular Dave is and he's a fighter that wants [7:24] to test himself he wants to put himself against the best you know we're in a sport where [7:28] people are written off for not fighting people and then at the same time written off for fighting [7:33] people and taking challenges Philip Herkovich is a brilliant fighter I think he's number four ranked [7:37] in the ring magazine heavyweight rankings there's brilliant heavyweights out there but there's [7:41] nothing like heavyweight boxing and on the 16th of May you're going to see the best of Dave Allen [7:46] you're going to see a fighter who's prepared like he's never prepared before for so long and he's been [8:34] in so many big fights and so many big nights he's got so much more left off of the sport how many [8:39] fighters especially again in heavyweights at 38 39 40 have we seen coming back with the resurgence [8:44] and I think you're going to see the best of Dave Allen because he's the most mature I've ever seen [8:48] him and as Frank said in the best shape I've ever or rematch with uh Daniel Dubois or to fight [11:21] in Germany or I was hoping for for that kind of fights but on the end this fight you know was at [11:32] the table and it was a great deal from offered from from Queensbury and I accepted and I continue [11:43] to work with the best promoters in the world Queensbury promotion and looking forward to [11:50] becoming champion if if if I'll you know [11:57] ever become heavyweight champion that that uh should be with uh Queensbury they have all the [12:05] best fighters and they can give me uh you know great opportunities and uh but first I must take [12:15] care of Dave Allen May 16 and you know continue on my uh journey to becoming a champion well [12:28] let's hear from Dave Allen Dave I've heard you describe this as the proudest moment [12:33] of your life what's on your mind going into this one yeah very uh very proud to bring you know the [12:40] four plus heavyweight in the world to Doncaster um yeah it's a box in Doncaster I've not boxed [12:45] Doncaster since 2015. I've only boxed here once amateur and pro um yeah to bring an event like [12:52] this you know um yeah one of the best heavyweights in the world is coming to fight Donny kid I'm not [12:59] actually done here over spam or a football fan I put the top on anyway because I I'm not actually a [13:05] football fan but uh but I am Donny through and through born in Donny you know raising Donny I am I to to be in competition with but um but [13:50] I've got no fear of him I've been boxing the best everywhere in the world since I was a kid Louis [13:55] Ortiz Tony Oka Dylan White all along a matter of two or three weeks notice so I've got no fear of [14:01] Philip but very respectful of his ability um and his ranking so um yeah no fear but uh but I'm aware [14:09] that he's got a hand I've heard you say you're gonna box him then beat him up then beat him yeah [14:17] is that something you stand by with him set only one man separating yeah I'm not scared to fill it [14:22] we're in Donny aren't we come sound so we're all right I'm safe we're in Donny but um but no yeah [14:28] but I'm confident yeah I've never really been one to be overly confident I've never been a big talker [14:33] I mean I am a big talker we're not one really not to talk myself up anyway but um I'm very confident [14:41] I've almost come over me uh recently um Philip's got everything to lose I've got everything to [14:47] gain so so I'm very very confident in in getting a result and the most the most confidence is coming [14:54] from the fact that I'm preparing correctly um so yeah I anticipate getting a result yeah [15:00] Philip you've boxed a number of Brits this will be your fourth Brit in a row how does Dave Allen [15:07] compare to the other Brits that you've boxed I mean he he looked like a good good guy you know I'm sorry [15:15] I must beat him but that's what I must to do you know I never met him this first time I I see him [15:24] in person he looked like a good guy and uh but compared to my other British opponents I think [15:33] he's not uh he's not that level you know I I was fighting uh Daniel Dubois who who become uh you [15:45] know world champion in that fight then Joe Joyce [15:51] and Adelaide I think all of them are are in a bigger League than uh Dave but like I said you [16:02] know everything is possible in boxing and I'll be ready 100 percent and uh ready for anything [16:12] what what he brings if he come in uh best shape if he suddenly becomes someone else [16:20] if he show something new I'll be ready for everything you know and uh I'll [16:27] care of business that is something you've said actually Dave you said that he's going to be in [16:31] the shock for a shock of his life because he's going to turn up and you're not going to be the [16:35] guy that he prepared for it's not going to be chubby jolly Dave Allen it's going to be a whole [16:40] different guy I'll still be jolly I said hello I'm a jolly guy uh hopefully not chubby but [16:46] definitely jolly um everyone that boxed me gets a shock uh even the ones that beat me I'm not [16:52] actually I'm not easy to it I'm seen as easy to hit and basic I'm very clever I can ride a punch [17:00] as good as anybody it's very hard to overly too much success with me um you get more joy out of [17:07] punching that wall over there than you will me and I think Philip I can frustrate him you know [17:11] I can definitely frustrate him I can get him into some uncomfortable positions and Philip's right in [17:17] what he says you know you can't just uh there's no magic formula and you're gonna work hard at 34 [17:22] it's gonna come overnight [17:23] but I've always trained I've been in the gym for 18 years now working I can I can box as good as [17:29] anybody uh I've got stamina I've been fighting all my life um so yeah what Philip says is right [17:35] I've got a lot of respect for Philip as a boxer and boxing knowledge but um if he thinks I'm going [17:41] to be an easier fight than uh than he had with Joyce and Adelaide he'd be in for it he'd be in [17:46] for a rude awakening definitely styles make fights I've got the right style to uh to really irritate [17:52] him and then after I irritate him then we'll get started [17:54] let's work I just I just got on my mind one one story it's just got on my mind I was reading his [18:05] article he he gave some interview a few years ago like uh I think he was going to retirement [18:16] and he said like boxing was great to me you know I did this I did this I bought a house [18:23] and I was like what the man how this guy bought he said like [18:31] I bought a few houses from boxing and uh at that time I still didn't have my house and I was like [18:38] what the how is this guy bought a house from boxing and I still don't have house [18:43] and you'll you'll understand more I think it's it's I didn't understand what you said but it's [18:57] uh not easy to be creation in boxing in heavyweight [19:03] division and to be you know top five in the world coming from small Croatia without any any history in [19:15] boxing you know so uh I'm tough guy that's that's the reason you know I'm I'm here from small country [19:24] top five in the world imagine if I'm from great grip from Great Britain man I would be a superstar [19:34] you are a superstar Philip Dave let me ask you this we've seen Philip Hergovich [19:39] some big wax of Daniel Dubois Joe Joyce David Adelaide and he's only been stopped once Daniel [19:47] Dubois and he didn't have him over it was a cut it was a doctor
