[00:00:00] Speaker 1: so welcome to the show i'm going somewhere i've not been in quite a long time last year we set up a shop called henshin a basically japanese toy shop and since it opened despite spending every single day here up until it opened i've not been well today we're going to change that i'm going to take you guys with us because we are at henshin what are you waiting for come on so here we are we're at henshin or i've been i've not been here uh i was here every day during the summer months whilst we got this place up and going and then since then not been had my fill as it were so it's amazing that we've come back today just to look around so having not been here for six months and having been here whilst we worked our backsides off to get this all done well it's it's such a huge difference to walk in obviously i was here opening day but since then i've not been here because well quite frankly i know i've got the two best people running the place so i don't need to be here vintage has been really busy henshin's been mega busy and i can't do both but nevertheless we're here now i want to take you around the shop and just see some of the things and the lads will have to steer me right because i don't know the stuff on this so we've got lots of uh gundam kits around here which are amazing these these sell brilliantly for the lads they do really really well down here no kit place would be complete without all the things that you need to complete it so you've got your glues you've got your paints i don't know if we've got glue we've got glue we've got glue we've got glue just checking sorry also transformers in cabinets we've got plenty of them knocking about throughout the shop putting some of these cabinets coming down the stairs i think it was this one was the real killer wasn't it i think i almost died yeah this is the heaviest cabinet in the world and it came through the window over there and yeah it was rope and about four burly men and me standing there as a sort of chocolate fire guard at the bottom it was i was rubbish it was just so dark and dingy in here the one thing we knew knew we needed to do was bring that light up and that's why we got the paint job we did um this was a pain to paint because this is all that's like a material underneath there took about 18 coats of paint to get that done so this i've never been in whilst it's been an opened area and this is where our gashapon machines live and there's a lot of them there's 150 gashapon machines in here so whatever your choice is you can pick that item out and i'm already seeing something i like the look of here so i've never had a go with one of these before but i think this might be my time because i'm wearing a matching pair of kicks today so let's uh let's see how these things work right i'm gonna get one token how do i get one token on the front of every gachapon machine yeah it tells you how many tokens you need oh for christ five tokens i need five tokens for that okay let's try this and then the tokens i guess thank you oh then i guess you just turn this right hey i've got a thing now squeeze it oh yeah it's like a like a little egg you get a little box man you get a little box look at this these are really cool look at that i've got the real thing on my feet man this is this is ace i love this this is yeah that could get addictive right because they're a lot smaller than real shoes and a little bit cheaper i'm sure there's somebody for it but i don't know who wants a mazda keyring every dad dad's love a mazda mazda key okay but lots of uh titles that i do recognize you know there's loads of cool stuff in here you've got loads of gundam stuff you've got loads and loads of different things there's a dragon ball there's tamagotchi there's all sorts kirby it just seems to me that pretty much every toy line is represented with the 150 machines that are crammed in here oh i'm really proud of what they've done they've done so well here just just to come in and see all this stuff yeah i'm proud of what we've built we've built something really really cool that i think people love as well which is kind of amazing what happens after vintage what happens for me if anything happened to me what happens this is why we started henshin is so i've got a guarantee for my family that there's something to continue onwards and henshin we can roll out countrywide that's the hope anyway so you never know there might be henshin coming to a town near you soon what i love about looking in these cabinets is you can go and spend a lot of money or you can spend just a few pounds in the cabinets and i think that's really nice i love the way they've displayed everything everything has its place and everything looks so it's so clean and shiny i'm used to toys that are dusty but these are all really really nice it doesn't stop because it's just got all these amazingly cool figures and i don't know what a lot of these figures are like literally this is down to matt and james what they choose to bring in but they don't have to do a good job because it does shift so it appears i might be the only one that doesn't know what a lot of this stuff is but then again i'm an old footy-duty it's vintage for me all the way one thing i do really like this is uh this was my thing of seeing new things again oh i like those blockies i don't normally like modern stuff but i like these these are wicked and you've not only got naruto you've got some of the bigger ones and we've also got well you can't be you can't go wrong really with some transformers blockies it is block isn't it it's not it sounds like bloke's bloke's blockies that's why i would have thought it was like bloke's would be really weird for the americans that's just a bloke he's like a fella in it you know what i mean that was an explain it's a man yeah i've got it i'm there right [00:07:48] Speaker 2: so i'm matt and henshin is open wednesdays to saturdays we are
