Trump's factual flubbing feeds questions about his frame of mind

[0:00] okay there have been several moments this week where it made it pretty clear to anybody with two [0:05] eyes that trump doesn't exactly have it all together it's not all with it going on there [0:11] and he held a cabinet meeting this week and this was quite something because during this cabinet [0:16] meeting which he called on iran a war he started that we're still in the middle of he spent nine [0:23] minutes talking about the reflecting pool and i pr i am not going to bore you with the nine minutes [0:28] of the reflecting pool but just a sample of this is just going to give you a sense of his frame of [0:34] mind right now we have one in particular a very long lake we call it the reflecting lake the reflecting [0:43] lake that he's referring to there which is not a reflecting lake is very much the historic [0:48] reflecting pool that we all know sits in our nation's capital that he's spending a lot of [0:54] money on currently and where is that reflecting pool between the uh lincoln monument the lincoln [1:03] memorial you mean the lincoln memorial not the lincoln monument okay well how how big is this [1:10] you take a look at between lincoln and washington you have the longest like 2400 feet long that's [1:16] longer than the tallest milling in the world if you set it on the side okay not 2400 feet 2038 feet also [1:25] definitely not the tallest building tall longer than the tallest building in the world which is [1:29] actually the burj khalifa in dubai and it's more than 2700 feet tall does everybody know that probably [1:35] not but if you don't know it and you're the president of the united states maybe you shouldn't [1:38] use it as an example i meant i told you i was going to spare you i'm not going to show you more of the [1:43] cabinet meeting but good lord does that not tell you something about trump's frame of mind speaking of [1:48] people who were in that cabinet meeting and in that cabinet room you know there's always competition [1:54] for who is the biggest clown of the cabinet of the week and this week we had nearly a tie nearly [1:59] a tie because rfk jr otherwise known as still currently the secretary of health and human [2:06] services well he is i mean with everything going on a possible ebola outbreak with with all of the [2:12] health crises that we have happening in this country this is what what he was up to this week [2:28] what are they well they're having sex so what were they [2:36] i mean hey again lots of things that man could be working on maybe it's actually better he's [3:00] wrestling snakes and not doing more damage to our public health system maybe it is better but he is [3:06] not even the winner this week um because um that wasn't enough for him to beat out pete hegseth pete [3:14] hegseth for the second week in a row i don't know if you get five times maybe there's an award for five [3:19] times it's pete hegseth because pete hegseth at the cabinet meeting it's i almost felt this wasn't real [3:25] when i saw it but i just have to play it because it is so kiss sassy it's disgusting and we just have to watch [3:31] it i think uh actually your efforts on the reflecting pool are actually a great segue if you look at [3:38] washington and lincoln these are two men that faced monumental tasks and stood up in historic fashion [3:44] and delivered for the american people and when you step back and look at 47 years of what iran waged [3:50] war against us and our people there's only one man over the course of both presidency who has stood up [3:56] and said they will never get a nuclear weapon as marco said so whether it was qasem sulaimani whether [4:01] it was scrapping the obama deal that was going to give them a weapon whether it was the 12 day war or [4:06] operation midnight hammer you created the conditions to ensure the american people and the world are [4:11] safeguarded from this generational threat i mean it's not funny but it is it is so over the top i mean [4:21] first of all trump looks bored or sleepy i'm not even totally clear what's going on there well pete [4:28] hegseth is absolutely laying a big smooch on his butt trump seems bored by it i don't even know but [4:36] the thing is is pete hegseth just compared him to washington and lincoln for what for for what i mean [4:42] the reflecting pool which trump had uh a no bid contract it's over budget it is delayed it's not even [4:51] they're not even fixing the holes and they're painting it bright blue that's the reflecting pool [4:56] then there's the iran war that trump started so that's what was up with pete hegseth that's what [5:01] came out of his mouth at the cabinet meeting i don't even know that trump was impressed by it or [5:04] maybe he was embarrassed i don't know what's going on with him but pete hegseth two-time winner [5:08] congrats to you buddy okay now there were some good moments highlights of this week um the news [5:15] emmys were this week i was actually there i got to present some awards but i had to leave before [5:20] this key moment happened because i did my show and this is a young man named santiago campos and [5:26] santiago campos he he is a student journalist he won a scholarship named after the incredible uh [5:34] journalist a 60 minutes journalist uh mike wallace and his submission you should know was it took a [5:41] look at the immigration crackdown happening across this country that so many communities have been [5:46] experiencing that so many people have been terrorized by so he cbs um was kind of a part [5:52] of the sponsor of this and he got up to give his remarks and i just have to say here's what he had to [6:01] say while i want to thank cbs news for funding this generous gift towards my education i want to also [6:08] acknowledge how the recent direction of the outlet stains the legacy of mike wallace the namesake of this [6:15] scholarship as corporate elites take hold as corporate elites take hold over the very pipes [6:32] through which our information flows journalism that serves the people becomes increasingly harder to come [6:38] by yet ever more crucial and what given the [7:24] room he was talking to um and he got some applause so that's notable too um okay speaking of politics [7:31] that's not about politics but this is about politics texas we've been talking a lot about [7:36] texas i'm sure you've thought about texas you've heard about texas it's been all over the news [7:40] this week the texas republicans finally decided who their nominee was going to be they decided that [7:46] their nominee was going to be ken paxton the mat not even perhaps the most corrupt person who is on [7:52] the ballot the man has a rap sheet that is so extensive and so long and that's just things [8:00] he's done in office his wife is also um filing for divorce on biblical grounds there's a lot about [8:07] this guy okay now this moment is giving democrats the best chance they've had probably in decades to [8:14] win a statewide seat democrats have not won statewide since 1994 in texas and that is freaking republicans [8:21] out and you know it's freaking them out for a range of reasons one they're talking about how [8:25] much money this is going to cost there are blind quotes in the new york times saying that it could [8:29] be 100 million dollars to try to keep ken paxton elect ken paxton over james tallarico still think [8:35] james tallarico could also win this one and then it's the name calling and this is the part that is so [8:41] pathetic because the name calling is what they're trying to do is they're trying to kind of [8:46] emasculate tallarico they're trying to make him seem like he is not a strong man in the state of [8:53] texas so therefore people can't elect him they're calling him talafrico um they are saying he's a [9:00] vegan or a vegan as trump actually uh pronounced it a couple of weeks ago and on the talafrico front i [9:08] just want to note this because that was one of their big things talafrico he's so kind of out there [9:13] and here's what talarico did which i think is quite good he kind of owned it remember the um [9:19] let's go brandon whole thing that was screamed at joe biden that's what this reminds me of where [9:23] you flip it around and make it a positive and this is what talarico said at his rally this week about [9:28] it i also saw that ken paxton started calling me talafrico and i am i am proud to announce that we [9:37] have i'm a talafrico t-shirts on our website so when you go home tonight make sure you grab one [9:51] they're not cheap they're not like ten dollar t-shirts they're probably making a lot of money [9:55] off of these talafrico t-shirts it's a brilliant move so bravo to him um but it's not just that the [10:03] voldemort of politics stephen miller decided he was going to go after talarico and he posted about him [10:11] he basically called talarico a transgender candidate you can see this on a screenshot the [10:16] democrats made history in texas by nominating their first transgender center senate candidate first of [10:20] all he's not transgender not that there's anything wrong with that but also he just has been defending [10:25] transgender kids which he is not backing away from good on him but stephen miller can't handle that of [10:32] course because again he is the voldemort character of the republican party now this is my favorite part [10:40] because what did the democrats do i think there's a new comms person at the party because this was [10:46] their reply which i wasn't even sure it was real at first shut up you ugly i'm just reading it you [10:52] can see it on your screen that's what it says now predictably look at how many look at how many views [10:59] are there for 34.2 million views there we go now predictably the republican party some in the republican [11:06] party some in right-wing media are pearl clutching the hell out of this thing they cannot stand it how [11:11] could you use that language against stephen miller of all people because he is obviously the beacon of [11:19] civility and goodness in this country i say not in any way seriously and one of the headlines that i just [11:26] the daily wire right ben shapiro's ben shapiro's website more love tolerance and civility from the dems [11:34] with a heart emoji are you effing kidding me i mean are you kidding me with that there i can't even [11:42] there are so many things we could list that they have not been outraged about over the course of [11:48] several years including nearly everything the president of the united states does but let's just [11:54] take because let's just look at the week that is this week okay marquine mullen the secretary of [12:00] homeland security at the cabinet meeting here's what he had to say which they were not outraged about [12:06] it shows the this radical left democrats priorities when they decide to go out and protest [12:12] a detention center or warehousing rapists child predators murderers uh drug dealers and they choose [12:19] memorial day of all the day of all the time to go to go protest something that they say that they're [12:26] that it's because they're on a hunger strike when there was only a handful of individuals that was [12:30] refusing to eat because they want their ethnic group or their ethnic right food well they go [12:34] back to their country and get whatever food they want uh the fact is we're giving them the calories [12:38] they want uh this isn't holiday inn did you see howard lutnik of epstein island fame nodding and smiling [12:46] there i would note that as well that was mark wayne mullen pretty uncivil isn't it pretty disgusting not [12:53] exactly projecting love there from mark wayne mullen was there a headline from the daily wire i think [12:59] you know the answer to that so please spare me with all of this okay we talk a lot about people [13:04] in the trump administration boy do they do a lot for us to talk about but there are a lot of people [13:09] who do things that are enraging and one of those people in the last couple of weeks is the democratic [13:13] governor of colorado jared polis now he's done a lot of good things for colorado but this is not a [13:20] good thing because a couple of weeks ago he decided to commute the sentence of former county clerk and [13:26] 2020 election denier that's the key part tina peters um she again county clerk uh from mesa county [13:34] colorado she also was found guilty of several felonies for the role she played in the 2020 election [13:40] scheme including tampering with voting tabulators after the 2020 election okay so she did some real [13:46] things she was tried in court of law she was convicted she was sent to jail and she was given [13:51] a nine-year sentence now she's going to get out next week now and governor polis's argument is well [13:58] that was a really long sentence boo-hoo she's an election denier who tampered with the election in [14:04] 2020 also there are a lot of people who have long sentences you could say commute a lot of people in [14:11] colorado who maybe have been put in jail for non-violent drug offenses maybe you're already doing [14:17] that you could do more i'm sure you could find people who are more deserving than tina peters [14:22] is my point or maybe do a whole slew of them uh together that's all possible now the question is [14:29] what is the real reason for this is the real reason for this actually because jared polis a democratic [14:35] governor was so concerned about the length of this of the um time that tina peters an election denier [14:42] who meddled with the election had to spend in jail that seems unlikely doesn't it well here's the [14:48] thing the trump administration has threatened to hold up funding for colorado um we know that that's [14:55] been out there uh and the question is do governor polis commute the sentence in order to try to avoid [15:02] that and guess who answered a version of that question out loud lauren bobert of all people because [15:09] here's what lauren bobert said we were told that tina was the reason we couldn't get water [15:15] thank you for saying the quiet part out loud lauren bobert here's the thing though we've learned a lot [15:22] over the last year and a half since trump has been in office i mean we remember early on when he was [15:27] threatening businesses and law firms and universities and some of them media companies and some of them were [15:32] buckling to him but what did we learn if you give the bully your lunch money the bully's going to come back [15:39] for more and that's governor polis a lesson for you you gave the bully your lunch money you let out tina [15:46] peters guess what he's going to come back for probably more maybe he's going to threaten water funding [15:51] maybe he's going to threaten something else and he knows he can take your lunch money now now as for [15:56] governor polis uh the democrats in colorado decided to um sent well i should say the colorado democratic [16:04] party censored polis so he's feeling the criticism for that and this was him on a zoom call this week [16:14] yeah here's the thing you did this to yourself did you not expect people in your own party to be pissed [16:21] off about it it's pretty obvious they would be okay in a week that a couple weeks where there have been [16:28] i don't know some bizarre people to applaud or criticize polis is one of them megan kelly i have [16:35] to say who would have thought i'd be enthusiastically nodding and making kelly um but megan kelly i want [16:44] i want to play what she had to say recently because i yeah i agree with a lot of it i have to be honest [16:48] i didn't expect the corruption to be quite as you know widespread as it's been and like the self-dealing [16:55] and the lining of his and his family's pockets like that's been a little shocking um talking billions [17:01] of dollars expect trump to be so disrespectful of his base i've never seen a family get so rich [17:06] off of a presidency right right and it happened at the same time as we now have a supreme court ruling [17:10] that basically says any official act he takes while in the white house is protected right and those two [17:15] things are you know seem to be giving him some sort of a hall pass that uh could very much get abused [17:22] i don't want to you know say he's crossed the line legally because i actually haven't taken a close [17:27] look at that but you know he's done a lot that pushes it right up to the line and i just don't [17:33] think we want our presidents or their families getting rich off of the presidency all right i [17:38] think it's safe to say he's crossed the line legally but otherwise yeah megan kelly get it i mean [17:45] agree with a lot of that needs to be said and i don't think most people if they're being honest [17:49] with themselves whatever political party they are like corruption so there we are
