[0:03] Donald Trump just had a disastrous de facto press briefing in the Oval Office before abruptly [0:08] kicking everybody out. It went so poorly. And one of the stupid things that he said during the course [0:14] of this presser is the fact that he really doesn't give a damn about the overwhelmingly [0:19] popular and bipartisan housing bill that he is actively standing in the way of, a bill that is [0:26] designed to make houses more affordable. He is actively thwarting and indicates that he may [0:32] very well oppose. But before we unpack all that, if you end up liking this video and you want to [0:38] support the channel, please be sure to hit the like, subscribe and alert bells before you go. [0:43] Folks, it's almost like Trump wants to lose the upcoming midterms. It's like he wants to bring [0:49] his presidency to a premature conclusion with two years left in the term by allowing Democrats to [0:56] take both the House and the Senate. Why the hell else would you say what you're about to hear [1:01] Donald Trump say? So let's start with this right here on the Iran war. [1:06] There'll be a meeting on that tomorrow in Doha and they're going to Qatar. I think they've already [1:14] left or they're just about getting ready to leave. So we'll see how that goes. But we're doing very [1:18] well on that front. But the meeting in Doha is going to be perhaps important, perhaps not. We're [1:28] going to find out. But we're winning militarily. It's almost won militarily, I would say. And it's [1:36] really very simple. It's the denuclearization of Iran. We don't want them to have a nuclear weapon [1:41] and they're not going to have a nuclear weapon. It's just so fascinating to me. You know, it may [1:45] be very good. It may not be very good. We're almost won. We've almost won militarily, I would [1:51] say. He's just so vague. It's like he has no grasp of what's going on. The fact of the matter is, [1:57] if Iran was as defeated as Trump said, he would not be in the process of negotiating with them [2:02] and giving them such generous terms vis-a-vis the memorandum of understanding, permitting Iran [2:07] to receive $300 billion between $24 and $200 billion of unfrozen assets and permitting them [2:16] to export their own oil, giving them $10 billion per year effectively for that. So Iran is making [2:23] money hand over fist. If you'd kick their asses conventionally in terms of military capacity, [2:29] you wouldn't be doing this. And as we discussed in a recent video, it was Trump who begged Iran for [2:34] this meeting in Doha after the ceasefire was violated over the past weekend. So again, Trump [2:41] doesn't seem to be particularly confident or particularly sure about the fundamentals and the [2:46] details of the ongoing negotiations with Iran. He's totally checked out. What do you make of the [2:52] Supreme Court ruling today in regards to the mail-in ballots and what comes next for the SAVE Act [2:57] after today's ruling? Well, because of the mail-in ballot ruling, which was a little bit surprising, [3:03] gives people more time to vote illegally, let's say. But the SAVE Act is even more important. [3:11] So Trump, of course, complaining about his back-to-back-to-back defeats at the United [3:16] States Supreme Court. One of those defeats was a mixed bag. At the time of this recording, [3:21] a video just dropped with friend of the show Pisco breaking that down. The Supreme Court decided not to [3:27] come to Trump's rescue when it came to the E. Gene Carroll lawsuit. They struck down in a 5-4 decision [3:32] his efforts to prevent ballots from being sent in on or before on, excuse me, before or after [3:40] election day. The Supreme Court said, listen, unless the statute explicitly prevents ballots [3:45] from being counted after election day, you know, there's nothing Trump can do about it. And then [3:50] the third ruling was they said, look, you can fire people on the FTC and independent agencies, [3:56] but not the Federal Reserve like Lisa Cook. So it was a bit of a mixed bag, but a broader strategic [4:02] victory for Trump. But two out of three, very bad for Trump. He's very upset about that. [4:08] The thing is, the SAVE Act is a voter suppression bill. And the reason that Trump wants it passed [4:12] isn't to reduce cheating in elections, but to actually cheat elections. He wants to suppress [4:17] voter turnout because he thinks it will advantage his party. [4:21] Parliamentarian. What were you asking about? [4:23] Yeah. Have you talked with Thune about? [4:26] I have. No, I can't imagine why you'd keep a woman that was put there by Harry Reid and Barack [4:30] Hussein Obama. I cannot understand it. The leader has the right to fire the person at will and put [4:38] somebody else there. That could be because we get so many negative rulings from her, the parliamentarian. [4:44] She's been there for years and she was put there by Harry Reid and Barack Hussein Obama. Harry Reid [4:50] was a bad guy and he was the leader and he put her. And the speaker has the right to immediately [4:56] fire her and put somebody else there. And it's not even believable. [5:00] So Trump is really stupid. The Senate doesn't have a speaker. John Thune is not the speaker. The [5:05] speaker's in the House of Representatives. That's why it's called the Speaker of the House. [5:09] Mike Johnson is the Speaker of the House. John Thune is the Senate majority leader because, [5:13] again, the Senate has no speaker. The Senate parliamentarian is basically a referee, [5:17] a bureaucratic referee who decides whether or not a particular provision of a bill actually is [5:23] permitted in that bill. And it is true that the Senate majority leader can fire her. As a matter [5:28] of fact, that's what Democrats, all of us wanted President Biden to arrange by way of Senate majority [5:35] leader Chuck Schumer during the Biden administration. But there apparently weren't, [5:40] there wasn't enough support there to overturn her, even though he could have gotten rid of her [5:46] in order to allow certain provisions in for Build Back Better and other things. [5:52] The Democrats said that, well, if you do that, we're not going to vote for them anyway. So Chuck [5:56] Schumer did not ultimately fire the parliamentarium. Trump wants John Thune to do what Chuck Schumer would [6:02] not. And John Thune is refusing to do so. You have honest elections. What are your plans for the [6:07] housing bill, Mr. President? I don't know. I think it's so unimportant by compared to by compared to [6:15] the Save America Act. I think the Save America Act is exactly what it says. It's saving America from [6:21] crooked elections. And the housing bill is a bill that can get approved. They worked on it long [6:26] and hard. It's very bipartisan. That means the Democrats like it. I think it's maybe even [6:35] it's probably maybe more that way. They're getting things that I wouldn't necessarily agree to. [6:43] Nobody knows more than housing in the history of the presidency. Nobody, nobody did well like me in [6:47] housing. I made a lot of money. I made a lot of money with housing. But when I look at that bill, [6:56] it's a bill. But when I look at the Save America Act, it's about saving America. [7:03] So as you know, there was a bipartisan housing bill. It passed with overwhelming veto-proof [7:09] majorities in both the House and the Senate. Trump said he would not sign it. He abruptly [7:15] canceled the signing ceremony that would sign that bill into law. Republicans were planning on taking a [7:20] victory lap about it, given that they're projected to lose the midterms. They needed something to brag [7:25] about, to go back to their constituents and say, hey, listen, you're all concerned about cost of [7:29] living and affordability. Here's what we did. Here's what we, the Republican president and the [7:33] Republican Party did. They may or may not mention that it was done to bipartisan basis, and the [7:37] Democrats joined it too, to address affordability and housing concerns. But while they were trying [7:43] to take that victory lap, Trump basically flipped the table over and said, no, I'm not doing this. He [7:47] abruptly canceled it, and he is refusing to sign it. Now, in theory, he has no leverage because it was a [7:53] veto-proof bipartisan majority in both chambers. So if he were to veto it, in theory, both chambers [7:58] could override his veto. Of course, it's possible that he could try to threaten and lobby and bully [8:05] Republicans to rescind their support for the bill to preserve his veto, should he choose to preserve [8:10] it. That's always possible. If he receives the bill and doesn't sign it or veto, if he just lets it [8:16] collect dust, then in 10 days, it automatically becomes law. So he either needs to affirmatively sign it [8:21] or affirmatively veto it. But the other thing is this. Regardless of what he does, the fact that he [8:26] is opposing the bill means that liberals, progressives, Democrats, and people such as myself [8:31] can say, well, then Trump gets no credit for this because he could just sign the damn thing into law. [8:35] He is actively impeding it, actively thwarting it, which means he and the Republicans get no credit [8:40] and Democrats get all the credit. And this can be another anchor around the neck of the Republicans [8:45] heading into the midterms. More on the housing bill later because he's asked about it again. [8:50] But here's another clip to Murkowski from Alaska. Nobody's done more for Alaska than me. [8:56] She's a Trump deranged. What can I tell you? But those four or five people that I mentioned [9:03] should vote. How do you vote against Save America? How do you vote against it? How do you vote against [9:08] voter identification? Because outcome determined voter fraud is not an issue in the United States. [9:15] There's no evidence for it. If anything, it's going to suppress voter turnout. And there's a good [9:19] chance it actually suppresses Republican voter turnout, which is a problem for the Republican [9:24] Party, not just the Democrats. Trump doesn't give a damn about that because he's got it in his head. [9:28] The fewer people who vote, the better that is for him and the party. There's actual disagreement [9:32] about this. But the fact of the matter is, even if they supported it, you won't have the 60 votes [9:37] needed to get it through. You would need Democrats to support it as well, or you'd need to break the [9:42] filibuster. And the Republicans said that they won't do it because if you break the filibuster, [9:46] that removes a shield that Republicans have against Democratic legislation moving forward. [9:52] But will you sign that housing bill? [9:54] I have that. It hasn't been sent to me yet. It's coming, I understand. And then I'll make it. [10:00] Here's what I would like to sign. Much more than a bill that big deal. It's a yawn. Some people say [10:07] it's wonderful. To me, compared to the Save America Act, just about everything is a big yawn. [10:15] So again, it's like he just wants to end his presidency two years in advance. Why would [10:22] you say that? It's a wildly popular bill, so popular that in these polarized times, [10:27] it passed with veto-proof majorities. And it was going to be something that you would be able to [10:32] take credit for, right? Not necessarily fairly, but it's Democrats. This bill is so popular that [10:38] Democrats were prepared to help you pass this, knowing full damn well that you would take the [10:43] credit for it in an election year. That's how popular it is. And now you're stepping on rakes, [10:49] left, right, and center over this, and you're screwing yourself and the Republican Party. [10:52] It's insane. It's like he has some sort of political wish of self-harm that he just, [10:59] he's eager to injure himself and the party, politically speaking. Stunning stuff. [11:05] One last clip, and this is him abruptly kicking people out. [11:09] Mr. President, Zoran Bandhani said in an interview this week that he was open to being the poster child [11:14] for socialist candidates. Are you worried about more socialist candidates across the United States? [11:18] I think it's a big threat to our nation, actually. Because it's not socialism, it's really communism. [11:24] They use the word social democrat because it sounds so nice, but it's really communism you're talking [11:30] about. I think it's the biggest threat to our nation. There is maybe since our founding. That [11:37] includes World War I, World War II, September 11th. It includes the Pearl Harbor attack. [11:45] Pearl Harbor attack was part of World War II. [11:47] I think this is the biggest threat to our nation. People will smile when I say that, [11:52] but the smart people are going to say, you know, he's probably right. [11:55] It's basically introducing communism into the United States of America. There's never been [12:00] anything so dangerous. Thank you very much, everybody. [12:03] Thank you, guys. Thank you, Brad. Thank you, guys. Thank you all. Thank you so much. Thank you, [12:07] guys. Thank you, guys. Thank you. [12:10] So he's just kicking people out as a consequence. I mean, look, again, there's no telling what's going [12:15] on in that dementia-riddled, dementia-addled brain of his, but that is where we are. Just a disastrous [12:21] presser by Trump. It's like he has this eagerness to lose the midterms and therefore end his presidency [12:27] prematurely. In the meantime, let me know what you think in the comments.
