[00:00:00] Javis: welcome to toy federation hey guys the broadcast what's going on down it's javis andy ryan we're shaking bacon let's crackalackin yeah we are a toy store in greer south carolina we also put on two toy shows a year retro toy con and retro oricon that one's
[00:00:29] Speaker 2: done this year yeah so far doesn't come back for a second time you never know well it's just a
[00:00:36] Javis: different year you never know it comes back every year but not this year it's done yeah but the work has already begun for a year two of course yeah year three sorry yeah yeah and then it started
[00:00:49] Speaker 3: planning retro toy 2027. planning this tour 90. still working on the key is figuring out
[00:00:58] Javis: the friday night element yeah the unique experience for friday and then then the rest solves it yeah the rest solves itself but today's topic is autographs on collectibles or i guess autographs in general on the item
[00:01:16] Speaker 2: does it make the item more or less valuable well let's discuss let's let's do that uh it seems of all the things we we deal with where there's an autograph on it does well with wrestling it seems like across the board it always does well with wrestling maybe it does well with that like athletics in general well i mean you see it a lot especially
[00:01:40] Javis: at the shows people getting they want their items signed yeah so it clearly adds value to
[00:01:45] Speaker 3: that i mean i've never seen an item get signed and sell for less than what the item is
[00:01:51] Javis: yeah i don't think so i think if you were to argue if it if it hurt it would be on something
[00:02:02] Speaker 2: i think vintage right it would hurt a grade or a grading process
[00:02:08] Javis: i think because they don't allow that yeah because the ink would be because uh yeah an autograph company or an autograph authentication company i think they bought like the cards or the comics companies and they've merged so now they can authenticate a comic but the toy grading companies don't have that so it's the because i remember i i was at joe con one year and i had one of my figures signed by one of the voice actors that was there and i i had them grade it and i think it just got a different label so they still graded it and it acted like that wasn't there but it got some different backer which signified oh like it like they did the same thing in comics they give it a different color well like if it's restored you get that red label or whatever it is i think it's i think it's purple right the one you don't want to get right right and i so then it was like you know whatever the grade was and they just didn't acknowledge that it didn't say sign by yeah so then they treated it that way but i mean if you know if you had a i don't know i guess it's personal choice or taste yeah i mean if you i i mean i saw people signing you know peter cullen would sign optimus primes yeah yeah but if it was me i wouldn't want him to sign my optimus prime yeah i i would want him on an image but then that's kind of how i would visualize my room yeah like i would want pictures on the wall but then the toys in the case i want my toys all signed
[00:03:52] Speaker 3: yeah i mean that's what i do everything's like date by 10s or 11 yeah yeah but i mean you know it's it's
[00:04:00] Speaker 2: it's kind of like everybody has their own way or system and and it yeah i don't think there's a
[00:04:05] Javis: right or wrong yeah there's no no right or wrong and if it it certainly has value to you and you're not the only one getting a figure sign yeah i personally don't collect figure side yeah i i i don't either um but in my brain i always had this one cool room with like a wall of all the cool people that you admired or looked up to or were a fan of and i don't know if that's like a childhood thing where you saw some guy's office and there was all this cool yeah all the people you know or you go to some fancy restaurant and then all of autographs all the photos all the people who ate there yeah it would look really weird if it was action figures all on the wall versus you know what i'm saying of all the people
[00:04:49] Speaker 3: that ate there yeah i mean going back to the whole autograph thing generally people charge more for something that's not a flat item yeah so they're kind of in lies the answer saying it makes it more
[00:05:02] Javis: yeah like there's maybe discourage right i'm just i'm my personal opinion i was never i mean teach his own i mean it's their autograph and their right to do what they choose i i didn't i always personally thought the autographs the autograph right it's irrelevant to what it's on
[00:05:23] Speaker 3: exactly that's how i feel i'm paying for your signature yeah why is it 20 more because you're
[00:05:29] Javis: signing up well i think the argument that i've been given by some agents higher or so well they see the secondary market value of the item that's being signed and what you're going to sell it for so then they should get a cut or a percentage of that so they charge more but what if it's a 200 item you sign right yeah yeah it's not your item well then charge less if it's personalized because you know you're keeping it right so there's that argument yeah and then there's some people who will not sign unless it's personalized because they don't want you reselling right yeah i i mean i in general
[00:06:09] Speaker 2: whenever we've had guest signs i mean sometimes i have them sign my artwork just because that'd be yeah but that's cool yeah yeah that's an upsell and it's their character and all that um i it's a lot of times i like eight by tens and a picture of like my favorite movie there's and that's usually that would be all that i want right and it takes up a lot less room maybe i put it on a wall or maybe i put it in a notebook or whatever the only thing i was ever really particular about was comics it had to be one that they worked on it couldn't be well i created that character did you work on that issue i wanted it to be that because there was something really cool to me about like inside cover right well inside cover for the very valuable books and is it well we talked about this
[00:06:53] Javis: because i had mike farland sign inside yeah yeah yeah but now i'm not really sure if that was the smarter move at the time yeah but you can't see it unless you open it but well but you you you know it
[00:07:05] Speaker 2: i know yeah but you know it's that used to be the old way of doing it anyway i thought because i have like an old fantastic four issue signed on the inside and i and i bought it that way years and years and years ago and that that's the guy that had all his books signed that sold it to this dealer they were all like that they were all on the first page but but anyway you know it's like some people are like well i just want stanley's autograph i'll have him sign anything for marvel and it's like yeah you know he didn't do that he didn't have anything you know him it wasn't he stan lee presents
[00:07:39] Javis: or you know like he was his name was on the book he didn't he didn't do everything but yeah yeah it's
[00:07:44] Speaker 2: but that makes anything but if it makes someone happy it really it it doesn't matter as long as it makes someone someone happy right and it's and sometimes it's it's really about why i got to meet him one time yeah and this is all i had yeah and then that and that's that's great too i mean all
[00:08:02] Speaker 3: everything i have autographs personalized because yeah it's cooler yeah like i don't plan on getting
[00:08:06] Speaker 2: rid of it like i usually tell whoever to just write whatever you want like whatever you know your
[00:08:12] Javis: favorite line from whatever you did or yeah well sometimes yeah because i always do one to me i try to do one to the shop and then because in my mind i was going to have a wall of the to the shop but then where's where's that where's that wall where's that space i don't know it's the ceiling bathroom i don't know those autographs up there wow right but i do have a lot to toy federation but uh i was trying to think i don't the only comics i ever had signed were those mcfarland ones i did and that was right before i left for college uh and it was one through five of you know his new book you know is that just spider-man is that what it was yeah just spider-man right yeah uh i kind of
[00:08:54] Speaker 2: wonders because it was a new series were they intending to have it continue or not like i i don't know but like that first book sold so well it's like well yeah it's like yeah i bought 30 copies
[00:09:05] Javis: myself yeah yeah because i'm gonna be rich with this book i think the only thing that sold more than
[00:09:10] Speaker 2: that was that x-men number one that that jim lee did so that came out after right
[00:09:16] Javis: see i think it did because when i was in school my buddy jim was still continuing the books we collected on my behalf yeah and so when i would come home either thanksgiving or christmas he'd give me yeah my books and i seem to recall that was in there yeah so to me it had to been after you
[00:09:37] Speaker 2: know i see i i have a hard time going from into my memory because i i got those at walmart i don't know when they came out i just got them when i saw them at walmart i wasn't able to go to a comic store at that time in my life i just i would get wizard magazine at any store i could find it and just just yeah wizard was great yeah i loved wizard magazine and then toy fair yeah that was great that was that was so funny that was so good uh you just like twisted toy fair theater i love that i love it well that's where that's where robot chicken came from and uh but i mean yeah it's it's it's such a that that used to be the thing like i would just carry that around for me or with me for a few weeks so that my cousins could read it my friends could read it and i'll just look at this spider-man's kicking over smurfs it's great you know i loved it yeah so that was robot chicken then in print form in a way yeah yeah well uh some of the guys and i don't know positions on the show but it's like tom root he worked on that in the magazine and then he went and worked at robot chicken and then there was a couple other people it was all like probably even some of the same toys to start out with oh yeah i wouldn't doubt it but i i think uh what's the seth uh like south mcfarland no the the green oh yeah seth green he was the one that that that helped get that right to television
[00:11:04] Javis: yeah no that's uh well what's the weirdest autograph i think i know what yours is going to be the
[00:11:11] Speaker 3: weirdest thing you have autographed oh the the ashtray yeah yeah oh yeah michael bean was here
[00:11:18] Javis: so you got a tombstone ashtray tombstone ashtray that was cool he had a good reaction too yeah he's
[00:11:25] Speaker 3: like i've never seen this and i like love the history and he took pictures of it and he's a big he's big into
[00:11:31] Javis: the history of that yeah yeah like he goes to like tombstone every year and he he had a business card that he gave out oh yeah i got one like no no the yeah the truth or no the history and he signed those
[00:11:42] Speaker 2: too yeah yeah i i still have mine somewhere i don't remember where about the real history of uh the
[00:11:47] Speaker 3: business cards in the industry like he got double autographed you know triple because i got his poster
[00:11:53] Javis: signed oh yeah the business cards he gave out he had signed them all yeah yeah yeah yeah um i think i kept
[00:11:59] Speaker 2: mine in my wallet for a few weeks before i put it i know i got it on my other autographs or something but i don't remember yeah he was uh he was very cool what's the weirdest thing you you had i'm trying to
[00:12:10] Speaker 3: think i just knew his for sure like i think i know it it wasn't for you but i think i know what it was
[00:12:16] Speaker 2: yeah yeah yeah yeah well go because i'm thinking all right so uh uh when we had um crap anthony michael hall thank you anthony michael hall came here and my brother is a huge breakfast club fan and the weeks before i was just like i wanted not just get him something it's his favorite movie so i was like what did he relate to the most and like i remember and i'm not gonna tell the story but he he did get in trouble a little bit you know because he was he was very hyperactive uh so i thought that was probably relatable because his favorite character was anthony michael hall and he got got in trouble for don't say the g word right bringing an implement to school and it was the way he said it made it sound so dangerous but it was for flares yeah he should have flare
[00:13:10] Javis: up in the air so i bought one of those and he'd never signed one right no no he never signed one which
[00:13:16] Speaker 2: is kind of why and he's and he didn't he ask the like why he's like i'm like can you and i i sanded the handle down so that it would be a good good autograph and handed it to him and he's like oh so so this uh you know a flare implement or you know um a flare blaster flare blaster i think there you go uh so so so why this and i said well my brother loves your movie and in the movie you you got in trouble and were sent to detention on saturday because you brought this to school he's like oh my god and and then signed it and he you know he's i was like so then obviously you've never signed one before he's like no no he's like that's great and so uh that was that was my favorite because i thought
[00:13:59] Javis: it was pretty creative well who's wasn't it your idea to buy the sunglasses uh i might have suggested it but because then we went on amazon and bought like this this black black ones i don't know they're like rape wayfarers or whatever yeah yeah risky business-ish looking glasses is that what they were
[00:14:16] Speaker 2: yeah i think i found because he wore them in the movie in a scene you know after they for better hallway vision for their hallway vision that's right got them from uh judd uh jennelson jennelson thank you um so uh erodimus prime yes yeah yeah i i just found that out recently because you guys already knew it and i was like i had no idea but uh but yeah yeah he of course he understood that he signed a bunch of those right and um i have some of those i should put those out yeah some guys tonight or us
[00:14:46] Javis: oh evil die oh right that was when he was in yeah because when we had him he had just was it halloween kills it hadn't come out yet and it was it got delayed it got delayed
[00:14:57] Speaker 2: covid time right right and he couldn't talk about it but people was that i think we're just it was killed we knew he was in it yeah yeah yeah it was yeah it was the kills was the second one and then
[00:15:06] Javis: somebody had a meme yeah evil dies tonight is that with what chevy chase right right sitting yeah good
[00:15:14] Speaker 2: talk dad good talk yeah that somebody had to put a pic for a picture from that scene where they're having the beer and you know good talk yeah yeah evil dies tonight russ didn't you get a proper
[00:15:26] Javis: something signed one time or i don't know why i can't think of this because i i tend to not get things signed on weird like i want images yeah uh i mean i know i had but see this isn't weird like i when michael bean was here somebody traded us in like an airsoft alien pulse rifle
[00:15:50] Speaker 2: yeah blaster pulse pulse blaster blaster and uh i had uh i had him sign that yeah and then we made
[00:16:01] Javis: the but see that's not stupid either we made those little polaroids which is the picture that he had
[00:16:06] Speaker 3: when he went back was that to the future tombstone blasters we had were cool too oh right yeah i got that
[00:16:12] Speaker 2: sign too yeah you ordered was it like like five or ten of them sold them all yeah yeah they're yeah i might have had 20 of them yeah that was probably one of the 1800s and he says this one was too long
[00:16:24] Javis: right right he spun it both every which way and he said i think this was a little too long i think i read
[00:16:31] Speaker 2: that for that movie that's they picked that because of that and in real life he had like this ridiculous long cannon that you couldn't have really done that uh um but i mean they you know he was supposed to be like a trick shot doesn't mean he never used a gun like that ever but at that time like you didn't you just got something that would just blow somebody is what it is yeah i'm just trying to think what is weird did you keep one of those guys i got it i got it on my desk sir okay so so that that sort of counts right i mean i don't think that's weird yeah but that's cool right i think like weird's an ashtray yeah yeah well but the if i was a deep dig trying to find i wish somebody could see what it'd be like having somebody sign a bar of soap that'd be weird yeah like i got one of those too yeah you have the dukes of hazards all right but that ashtray looks really cool because it's got like the it's got a blaster and a blaster it has like a fixated on blasters and then it has like a i don't
[00:17:36] Speaker 3: know if it's like a tarot or like some kind of card game outlining the yeah yeah yeah yeah but it's it's
[00:17:43] Speaker 2: it's uh tombstone texas or arizona sir arizona sorry arizona yeah yeah um you're disqualified from being a fan of the movie longer longer i quoted this movie with him longer than the movie is in in one evening so this is true right you know we we kept throwing quotes back and forth and we just pretty much have the whole movie memorized i mean i know i've seen it like 50 000 times yeah i think i
[00:18:13] Javis: got you each a 4k version yeah that's right you've seen it or not i watched i watched bonus extras
[00:18:19] Speaker 3: somethings all right 4k i have one edition it's not like a 4k but it's has a map of the tombstone
[00:18:26] Speaker 2: and everything in it yeah i've yeah i've watched a lot of behind the scenes on that movie because it's such a good story in itself like that could be its own movie well how there's fabrications obviously well yeah like the story itself yeah but it was also like the story of like well they had this director and he was just on set for like a couple weeks and then kurt russell yeah he was yeah he was horsing around got fired kurt russell took over directing and he would call well the dude still got credit though that well yeah the guy that got credit caught i can't remember his name i think if you shot a certain percentage or something like that well they for whatever reason either he didn't want it or they decided the studio decided that had to go to him but like he was he was working on something else the cosmo yeah i forget the guy's name i forget his name too but but anyway like so as an actor he's like i want everybody to get a you know get some screen to like really good screen time so everybody in the movie gets a good scene like a like a you know and that's what's so fun about the movie like everybody gets to be this character and there's tons of people in it yeah there's a lot of people i mean freaking charlton heston's in it yeah like uh uh jason priestly jason priestly oh that's right yeah um and you got me you got me what's his name is a lot of crap i uh what is his name the
[00:19:54] Javis: actor's name that yeah i played ike clanton yeah um isn't he the guy in red dawn the guy who gets shot
[00:20:00] Speaker 2: down isn't he in it i'm not sure yeah yeah yeah yeah so then yes told you what is his name oh uh powers booth no no no that's not pat no powers he played wild bill hiccup or not uh brody bro yeah from jaws you know but yes but no brody what is his name it's yeah it's that name but um oh my god chief brody no power powers booth i i he's in it yeah he is in it but that's not who were luke perry uh you said the other guy was in it jason priestly luke perry was not not in it uh frank stallone oh that's right he was the first guy that uh he was at the car table what's his uh val kilmer killed yeah yeah yeah i didn't it took there it was you know we can be friends again with a blaster with a blaster two blasters no he got him with a bow and arrow the sticker oh that's
[00:21:01] Javis: right he he uh i gotta see this movie again i haven't seen it a million times like he got him
[00:21:06] Speaker 2: with a light i might have seen it twice a metal lightsaber that's what i've seen good to bad and the ugly like a hundred times yeah yeah half soldier and then sam elliott you know our tool got one he's ghostwriter tom he's the old ghost yeah yeah the skeleton why is it so hard to just go anywhere isn't he roadhouse too yeah yeah yeah yeah he's uh thought you'd be taller you're not joking yeah yeah
[00:21:34] Javis: he's isn't he the one who tells him to be nice until it's time to not be nice
[00:21:37] Speaker 2: or does he might have told him that but it was not connected with him it was just swayze that said that told you uh which that's another movie i've watched a bunch of times you know like yeah that was a cool movie he called my mother a so-and-so was it true yeah big bear fell on me
[00:21:57] Javis: but i can't think of the uh if i have a weird steven lang thank you that's the guy this guy
[00:22:04] Speaker 2: uh all right so he yeah in that movie he has like the worst line like the most hateful line yeah so he's ike yeah he's ike clanton so he in the middle well what else was he known for then uh he's the bad guy in avatar oh all right i know general guy yeah and he like he's a really good character actor like you won't recognize him from role to role that dude lived the part too oh yeah yeah he got like that's another story i heard that he drank so much that i when he went to his next project well he didn't bathe either right no i don't think i don't know if any of them did but he like went to his next project and immediately got kidney stones because he apparently had so much liquor it just
[00:22:44] Javis: messed them all up i thought that's drink too much sweet tea or something yeah i guess too much soda
[00:22:49] Speaker 2: but it dehydrates your so however that worked yeah that's what happened to him um because so many people in that not today be him i don't think i'll let you arrest me who is the guy
[00:23:01] Javis: who came to meet michael bean he called him behan uh yeah well i'm not gonna i don't know who it was but he called him michael behan uh well you know we're not gonna say yeah but do you remember that i know i can picture the guy yeah michael behan we didn't correct them no no just that right it's
[00:23:21] Speaker 3: pretty obvious that it's being beam yeah yeah tom meeks whipped and then and then there's the guy
[00:23:28] Javis: who calls david prowess david prowess prowess yeah yeah every time every and mark hamill is mark hamil hamil henry cavill henry cavill yeah i got uh mark hamil hamil it's like it's hamil i didn't correct him
[00:23:46] Speaker 2: it's funny because like i don't know name print i get it named tonight but like when you when you know something's right and you're just like nice that's not the name and somebody's like no no and they're just completely and they're just arguing you're like looking at it but it ends in an e so how do you get prowess it's prowess i i remember somebody argued with me on the pronunciation of uh neil gaiman he's the writer of sandman he's coming well how what was his yeah they were saying his name is pronounced neil gaiman gaiman it's g-a-i-m-a-n but anyway but but it's that that could
[00:24:28] Javis: it's actually that argument could be right right it could be but then you'd have to hear how he's
[00:24:32] Speaker 2: it's been he said it so that that was what i did was i pulled up a video of him saying it his own name and i was like i said well that's if that's what he says it that's how it is right just pronounce your own name wrong just throwing people off he said his name was this like no no i know his name is
[00:24:50] Javis: this right yeah changing the game up all right so i don't i i still haven't thought of right your
[00:24:57] Speaker 2: your one odd item well your your stand-in is the blaster for now yeah but that was just cool right
[00:25:04] Javis: if that's as weird as it gets this is weird as it gets yeah so then i don't i'm trying to think uh i mean you've had masks signs oh i got a lot of no i don't have a lot i had some but i did those to sell in the shop right right i'm just naming things um i have a they live mass signed by roddy piper yeah
[00:25:22] Speaker 2: now that's really cool some machetes machetes i think those are all gone oh the ones by jason
[00:25:31] Speaker 3: yeah no i got a bunch of those yeah masks well we said mass but i'm at jason a couple knives i have
[00:25:37] Javis: some uh piper he i guess he put out a beverage really yeah it's in the office what's the name of it's in a bottle and it's uh bubble gum flavored oh i do remember that yeah yeah i don't know if it's one of those companies you got some funko pups on does that count so i i the only so i have the only funko pop i have in my personal collection is signed by chuck norris yeah but i mean you would i would chuck norris so it it it undoes that yeah any connotation i mean you can have a rock signed by
[00:26:14] Speaker 2: chuck norris chuck norris i would only trade it for a a not pop autograph of chuck no no no but he he makes it cool yeah well i right but i'm saying like if you're going to have a funko pop
[00:26:26] Javis: you have that and you don't like funko pops yeah chuck norris funko pop but if someone's like hey you
[00:26:32] Speaker 2: want this this cool poster signed by him and it's from one of his movies delta horse good guys wear black what's the one where he fights the robot silent rage fighter of our time
[00:26:49] Speaker 4: now he must face an indestructible man in one final showdown that will push him to his limits and beyond chuck norris in silent rage rated r now playing at a theater near you
[00:27:11] Speaker 2: oh i don't even need to see that you should it's uh it's not well regarded it's not terrible well a
[00:27:20] Javis: lot of his movies are not that good yeah i was in the expendables too i forgot about that lone wolf lone wolf mcquade that was his own that was another movie that's so he played that role
[00:27:31] Speaker 2: well they called him the lone wolf uh i think if i was going to pick anything it probably would be like i like missing in action i've already forgotten what's the name of the movie where he fought bruce lee i really liked it oh but he yeah he yeah yeah yeah that's an old that's yeah bruce lee's the star in that like that poster or something from that i probably would have wanted or
[00:27:51] Javis: walker texas ranger there you go nice that was on every day i would do me uh invasion usa yeah that or missing in action the invasion usa was done in georgia yeah that's right we interrupt our program to bring you this ask devon's segment do you enjoy it when gi joe crosses over with transformers
[00:28:14] Speaker 3: to be honest which is not really crossover is okay but it's just the storyline it's just kind of like
[00:28:20] Javis: just didn't cobra commander make megatron a tank because there was gi joe versus transformers in the
[00:28:25] Speaker 4: old marvel comic yeah he did he did yeah all right so i got i got a good question what's like one thing
[00:28:40] Speaker 3: that you want autographed either by one person or many
[00:28:50] Javis: i would like a harrison ford blaster
[00:28:55] Speaker 3: broom handle mauser should get that big hat signed you could fit a whole autograph on that hat
[00:29:00] Javis: on the kenner 12 inch yeah well the the terrible hat paddington bear hat you can have to sign the hat
[00:29:07] Speaker 2: the notebook that you have oh the grail diary the grail that's what i would get signed yeah because that thing's cool the whole story behind it's cool yeah so do you want to tell that story though oh where i got it well just what it is where you got it because we're telling people about it and and you're telling people about it i haven't told anybody about it do you ask what i was saying
[00:29:26] Javis: no no it's not like 10 minutes do you want so so back jesus i if would this be i could be off by a
[00:29:36] Speaker 2: couple years it's either that was like early 2000s when you told me is that not right yeah it could be
[00:29:42] Javis: early 2000s uh there was like there was a super awesome indiana jones grail diary from the last crusade and the best one you could get and i could be pronouncing this wrong i swear i thought the guy's name was indy magnoli like and that was i don't think that's his real name but that's what he went by yeah and then these were like three or four or five or six hundred dollars on ebay at the time and they were like hand done and they were like really good and yeah he made them from scratch right and i uh and this is i just this is when there was like news groups and yahoo news groups and i was like in these different groups uh and of course you're doing this while you're at work yeah of course you know uh and you'd post something and because i remember like when one of the star wars movies came out one of the prequels i'm getting sidetracked but and i might have talked about this but there was a cereal premium that was in let's just say it's canada probably was canada but there was two halves of like a clone trooper helmet that came that were like shrunk wrapped to the cereal box or something i remember that yeah but you couldn't get it here but when you're in the news group which you would just say hey i'm looking for some and the guy who's like well i could just go to the supermarket here and i'll which guys want them you know give me send me 30 bucks or whatever whatever it was and then everybody looked out for everybody and we'd mail it to you stuff and i remember i still have it it's in my basement it's just like a cheap it's almost like a what's the crappy material that the like blow mold the 80s costumes are made out of oh that
[00:31:33] Speaker 2: oh that vinyl yeah yeah like the the carton crap press yeah the crappy uh what are those costumes
[00:31:40] Javis: called oh uh uh ben cooper yeah it's like but it was maybe better but it was two halves and you could put it together now you had the full clone helmet but somewhere and then this guy had i don't know if it was he had a site and you had to message him and again i'm gonna i could be not telling the story all proper like i don't know if he wanted to know that you were doing this so you had to message him but it wasn't like outright in your face secrecy but you tell you what secretive and then it he mailed it to me and i i it could have been three hundred dollars then now they're a lot cheaper because they're like mass produced but it's still not the quality right but because he was making
[00:32:22] Speaker 2: everything by hand and he literally
[00:32:27] Javis: shipped it in the i know i've talked about this he literally shipped it with that brown craft paper that they wrapped packages back in the day with the string bow and then had the postage on it and it just came like that and i was like you would think you you would have protected it but it's like he wanted he wanted to get a little beat up to get international shipping and it go through the the whole system and yeah just like the movie and then when you opened it it still had this smell like from whatever the chemical was to age the paper or like it still had some raw like it took a minute to oh yeah it yeah
[00:33:05] Speaker 2: because it kind of sat wrapped up for a while yeah so yeah you'd have to air it out but it yeah it was
[00:33:10] Javis: uh but yeah no like you know it even has the fake page when with hitler's signature yeah
[00:33:18] Speaker 2: that was i was i i'd say that was a really funny scene because he's just like he's trying to get
[00:33:23] Javis: out of there and he turns the next thing you know face to face and he looks then he takes the thing
[00:33:28] Speaker 2: and signs it he's looking he's all unshaven and sweaty and he's just like god this guy's working hard i'll get he's like god the guy wants an autograph all right so so all right so weirdest thing what about you what do you what's the you something you want autograph that was something you want autograph
[00:33:46] Speaker 3: yeah i mean well there's a lot i would like yeah but i think edging out the top for me was a michael
[00:33:53] Speaker 2: jordan autograph what's one of those run have you looked depends on what it is does he sign a lot or no that dude i heard he doesn't sign a lot if you're a male uh okay well andy they have all sorts of things and options nowadays if you want to get that autograph go get that autograph send her
[00:34:16] Javis: no no she'll mess i told you i was picking up my wife who was not my wife at the time at least i don't think she was and she was working uh in this office building and i pulled up i told this too and i'm waiting for her to come down and patrick ewing walks out it's like he's right there's no there's no crowds we're not in the sidewalks we're like in pro like a pride yeah zero interest and and he was just standing there yeah like probably waiting for a ride or yeah and just you know but you know if i thought if i was smarter i would have had my wife or my girlfriend at the time when she's coming down it's like oh go but i told you the time when it was uh in coconut grove in miami and there was the one hotel uh i forget the name but it was the one like jordan stayed there like if the heat was playing right the bulls were playing the heat they stayed there and they had these i told you like i knew a guy that worked there and they'd bring the girls through like it was they were yeah horrible uh they had you know back entrances and probably why they stayed there yeah uh and i saw shaq walking and this was like when he's a rookie and he's in miami yeah and he's just walking and walks into this hotel to the and i followed him all the way in and then the front like and then i was like i need can i get a pen and a paper because he's like right there and they're like no are you a guest here and i was like no and i should have said yes and then they probably would have said what room and then i maybe i could have just said 11. i don't know i just said uh and then you know he's right there he probably you know and then it's like i can't get a pen so that's why you always carry a pen yeah yeah that's yeah sign my arm is that yeah yeah and then it's like well he's right there it's just not you know and i think he'd like jean shorts on and a white t-shirt and it's like the jean shorts are like the side of my head so what is he like seven foot or something yeah i don't know if he still is
[00:36:25] Speaker 2: because get older you shrink uh i i think what i would have wanted signed i've already like i missed the opportunity anyway because i just i never could figure figure out what i i wanted or if you know if it would even happen but like i really like comics i really wanted something an autograph of steve didco the co-creator spider-man he didn't really give autographs but you could write him a letter and he would write you back and he was really good about it i just i didn't know you know how to write a letter i just didn't know what to to say to him because it's like i love how you do spider-man yeah
[00:37:01] Speaker 3: i mean there's a picture of a spider-man i drew right but by the time i figured it out i'm like in
[00:37:05] Speaker 2: my mid-20s and i was like i don't know what to do and and then and then you know and then i just kind of forgot about it for a while and then you know he passed away should did it i should have yeah um i just i don't know it's it's like the whole thing of like not just meeting your heroes but it's like some auditioning like if you say something dumb he's gonna be like throw out the trash you gotta
[00:37:28] Javis: say something memorable because maybe he gets 50 million people saying something yeah that was the
[00:37:33] Speaker 2: whole thing was like it felt like a lot of pressure so i just never came up with anything but you know uh i mean i kind of entertain the idea of getting every spider guy autograph yeah yeah that
[00:37:45] Javis: would be cool and i think oh the actors you mean yeah yeah i mean the drawers drawer no well the
[00:37:52] Speaker 2: drawings the the actors i like the the stunt guys too because we you know oh he was cool yeah i i like that idea so it's like well i got uh andrew garfield from you bought like a my daughter wanted
[00:38:07] Javis: one right right so then i bought like two or was it different together yeah yeah or well yeah she picked
[00:38:13] Speaker 2: one and then you got the other one or something right right and and i was like well it'd be cool to get uh you know toby mcguire or tom holland yeah you know whatever but i was most excited about like i think nicholas hammond the guy who played him in the 70s because i watched that oh that's cool i thought it was awesome but i've never i've never pulled the trigger on one i i thought it would be
[00:38:35] Javis: cool maybe to meet him but maybe bring him to retro i i'd love that maybe he'll be no like spider-man
[00:38:41] Speaker 3: movie should give him a cameo at least everyone's getting a cameo in doomsday and whatever yeah
[00:38:48] Javis: get a look in there spider-verse could have put him in that wolverine movie deadpool wolverine could have just worked that in i mean you got if nicholas cage got a cameo with
[00:38:58] Speaker 2: superman i mean come on that was a really big stretch come on i mean marvel one-ups and they're like we'll put gambit in there and make him like a real character like yeah oh boy
[00:39:11] Javis: that was that was so stupid but it was good my name what is it what is that joke he does my name is
[00:39:17] Speaker 2: what uh my name is yes my name is my name is yeah yeah from uh 21 jump street it's 22. that was
[00:39:25] Javis: actually funny i saw that in a hotel room yeah that goes with tony it was after the show and we're just what's on and that was on i had never seen it i was like this is funny yeah and i mean it has
[00:39:36] Speaker 2: practically nothing to do with the tv show no hairs it's just it's just a funny buddy cop movie yeah like
[00:39:41] Javis: they're totally not in high school yeah yeah like 35 or something i love buddy cop movies there's not
[00:39:48] Speaker 2: enough of them like for some reason it's like i don't we're not we're not gonna make any more
[00:39:52] Javis: why they're great no i haven't seen in forever but the trailer or something
[00:39:59] Speaker 2: it was uh eddie murphy and what's his name uh nick and oh oh uh 48 hours i haven't seen that in ages
[00:40:07] Javis: the boys didn't they do a couple of those was it two or three two two another 48 hours yeah another yeah is that the one where he's like selling the cigarettes at the back of the no is that no that's
[00:40:19] Speaker 2: a beverly hills cop yeah the start of the first yeah that's uh with yeah 48 hours it was
[00:40:27] Javis: that's when eddie murphy was on fire yeah those common two specials yeah delirious it went from when
[00:40:33] Speaker 2: he started on fire through him still being on fire all the way too it kind of calmed down well then i
[00:40:39] Javis: think he when he started to do all that disney stuff then it seemed like it mellowed out right the
[00:40:43] Speaker 3: haunted mansion yeah but i mean do little or his audience changed i guess right because like kids love him was it any donkey from shrek too yeah oh yeah hey donkey yeah get out of my swamp it's a
[00:40:55] Speaker 2: swamp donkey yeah i don't know um yeah i miss the old movies with eddie murphy not not knocking on the
[00:41:05] Javis: new ones well the last beverly hills cop wasn't terrible yeah i was just but it wasn't great right
[00:41:10] Speaker 2: i don't think i saw it i don't know because it was a one after three yeah they did a new like two years
[00:41:17] Speaker 3: ago that's right yeah i didn't see the guy in netflix he just he literally just died right after it
[00:41:22] Speaker 2: didn't they read didn't they call it something else though it was just i think it was axel foley or that something like that yeah i haven't seen it pop up on any i think it's on netflix i think net yeah
[00:41:33] Javis: i think netflix made it so it's got to be there oh okay well then maybe i'll give it maybe they sent
[00:41:37] Speaker 2: it to amazon i did watch the what's the other movie that netflix made of his um there was made in america and there was a part two coming to america coming to america yeah coming to there was a sequel right yeah yeah i saw the sequel was that yeah i didn't watch that it's okay i mean it it was funny but it wasn't i don't know the first one was i didn't see any a lot funnier like i liked it when
[00:42:00] Javis: it came out yeah but i had no desire i don't know like i was like it didn't need it we didn't need it
[00:42:08] Speaker 2: i'll probably i'll probably enjoy it yeah no you'll you'll watch it one time and go ask good
[00:42:14] Javis: and then you don't really be like we could do trading places too
[00:42:19] Speaker 2: i think that's kind of coming to america was yeah it's like they're those characters are in it you know that i thought that was such a good callback yeah i don't think uh if they if they did that again and they have to get jamie lee curtis back
[00:42:35] Javis: probably not i just saw her in a trailer for a tv show yeah right yeah oh yeah i just saw that yeah
[00:42:42] Speaker 3: what's this what's the show i don't know but like it's like some older guy marries a young girl and she's like what i do and then she's like the ex-wife that shows up and the guy's like oh it's daylight you're out of your coffin like it's like i don't it's one of those deals all right that ends we're
