[00:00:00] Speaker 1: Well, ladies and gentlemen, the time has come. It's time to sell the Matt Stryker Collection. Now, before you flip your lids too much, guys, I'm not selling everything. I am keeping that childhood nostalgia feeling alive in my toy room and eventually my basement. I am going to start focusing more on what truly matters to me as an adult collector that reminds me of my childhood specifically. And if you've been watching this channel for many years now, you will know that I have three core lines, which is early pro wrestling, 80s and 90s, Ninja Turtles, of course, the earlier stuff, I would say 88 to 91, 92-ish, as well as vintage Star Wars, which I don't even have displayed in this room currently because I have so much other stuff and other toy lines represented. So I'm going to be narrowing down my collection to what truly matters. So gone are the Inhumanoids. Gone is D&D. Gone. Supernaturals. Sectars. Most of my GoBots. Transformers. Starriers. The list goes on. Now I do plan to keep a couple of examples from the lines. Like I want to keep He-Man and Skeletor, Lion-O and Mum-Ra, maybe one Visionary, Quicksilver from Silverhawk, stuff like that. Just to have kind of a representative shelf of some of the 80s cartoons and toys that I did love, but I really didn't have as a child growing up. And I thought it would be kind of a cool, podge-podge, 80s traditional shelf. So Matt and Bobby from D&E Collectibles, my favorite local toy store that I've done several videos on. And of course, they run the incredible Toypalooza Toy Show twice a year. They are going to be swinging by later today to take a look at what I have to sell and value the collection. And I'm hoping we can come to terms on a price. To go further into it a little bit more, you know, I'm getting older. My kids are getting older. I have college to think of for my daughter. She wants to be a nurse. And I thought now was a really good time to reevaluate the collection and add to the 529 plan. And to be completely honest with you guys, I'm concerned about the market. That's just me. You may not be. I think if anybody collects for the love of it, I think that is wonderful. But in the back of your mind, you're also thinking how valuable it is. I mean, I know I always have. And I've been collecting since I've been 13 years old, which is when I started collecting Hasbro's and LJN's, WWF. So I'm concerned about the market. You know, I don't want to hold on to this stuff too long where it becomes, I don't want to say worthless, but a lot less valuable than it is now. And I just don't want to take that risk. So I'll grab a little bit more footage for you guys. And this will be the last time that my collection will be on full display. However, a new collection will emerge, I assure you. [00:03:52] Speaker 2: What are you doing here? [00:03:54] Matt: What's up, buddy? [00:03:55] Bobby: Are you recording? [00:03:58] Speaker 2: Yeah, a little bit. [00:03:59] Bobby: I don't know if you were going to. [00:04:01] Speaker 2: Yeah, just a quick one. [00:04:08] Speaker 1: We got Matt and Bobby here. Ready to take some things away. [00:04:18] Speaker 2: How are you guys doing? [00:04:20] Matt: How are you guys doing? [00:04:20] Speaker 2: Hey. There's Trooper. Yeah. You ready to take them home today, Bobby? [00:04:25] Bobby: Yeah. I like them about it. Package them. Go ahead. Keep talking. We're probably going to package them by lines. Yeah. That makes sense. And then, therefore, the accessories will stay. I'll stay with the figures. For the more fragile stuff. The dino rat and stuff like that. We got bubble wrap. And we're going to do our best to preserve the quality of the collection, man. [00:04:51] Speaker 1: Yep. [00:04:52] Matt: Nice. [00:04:54] Speaker 1: Matt, are you happy with this? [00:04:55] Bobby: So happy. [00:04:56] Speaker 1: Happy? Thanks, Matt. Yeah. [00:04:58] Bobby: I'm excited, man. [00:04:59] Speaker 1: Awesome. [00:05:00] Matt: Yeah. [00:05:01] Speaker 1: Yeah. [00:05:01] Bobby: This is great stuff. I feel like you're leaving enough for yourself to where you'll be back. [00:05:10] Speaker 1: Who knows? You guys might be back. [00:05:12] Bobby: Yeah. Well. [00:05:13] Speaker 1: You know? We're game. [00:05:14] Bobby: We're game. Yeah. We're definitely game. [00:05:19] Speaker 1: Ready to pack up all this stuff here. That's probably one of my most money cases right there on the left in humanoids. D&D, Supernaturals, and then Sektar's down there. There's the Tomb of Doom box. GoBots and Transformers, Starriers. They're going. Motu's going. Ghostbusters. Rocklord. This one kind of pained me a little bit. It was a specialty line that I really cared a lot about. But at the end of the day, I only had one of them as a kid. So, it is what it is. I'm excited. Bright and early on a Sunday morning. [00:06:02] Bobby: Oh, the wings on these damn things. Good luck with the wings. You've got to be gentle with that stuff, dude. You could use the bubble wrap. Yeah, but it's a bubble wrap for sure. All right. A big night out of here. Yeah, Joe. I know these are for a horse, so. Things are starting to clear out a little bit in here. [00:06:39] Speaker 1: Things up there. Joe's are gone. Thundercats. Superpowers. They're just having a grand old time in here. Seeing dollar signs. [00:06:57] Matt: You haven't seen a dollar signs go away. Our accountant's going to be like, we need to have a discussion. [00:07:15] Speaker 1: Dragon riders, turtles. Oh, yeah. A little update here. We've got the turtle stuff removed. Pretty much everything is packed up at this point. A couple of loose boxed items here on the floreat. And the Vulcan rock is still here. Obviously very fragile. And the hive is still here. Also very fragile. My detail shelves are now empty. Keeping my Fort Curium, of course, guys. And my giant raisin. And my firehouse. Say goodbye, Vulcan rock. Goodbye. We've got more bins here. All loaded up. RoboCop. Diner Riders. GoBots. All this stuff over here is going. Because they ran out of bins. And then they're loading up here. Going to the van. Filling up the van. It's almost 11 o'clock in the morning. [00:09:05] Bobby: It is 11. [00:09:06] Speaker 1: Oh, it's getting close. [00:09:07] Bobby: Holy. 1044. [00:09:09] Speaker 1: 1044. [00:09:11] Bobby: Bobby here cleaning me out. Say bye-bye. [00:09:20] Speaker 1: Say bye to the hive. Nice and complete. [00:09:25] Matt: Yeah, yeah. [00:09:26] Speaker 1: They already put the Vulcan rock in a special seat. [00:09:29] Bobby: Yep. [00:09:30] Matt: Yep. [00:09:30] Bobby: Got it down to the pot. Santa seat. [00:09:40] Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. All these onesie-twosies that just couldn't fit anywhere else. There it goes, guys. Big part of my collection. Now in the hands of D&E Collectibles out of Sharpsburg, Pennsylvania. I think they're happy. I'm happy. Things are good. Not nearly as emotional as I thought I would be. So, I guess that shows you that I was ready. There it goes, guys. Check out their store or a future toy show near you for a piece of the Matt Striker Collection. All right, guys. So, as you just saw, Matt and Bobby from D&E Collectibles came and bought out a lot of my collection. We came to an agreement on a price, and they're super ecstatic. And they even told me that I was the number one collection buy for them. Meaning, it's the most they've ever spent on a single collection at one time. So, I currently hold the D&E Sales Trophy. And you may be wondering how I feel about all this, right? You know, I've been talking about this for several years now. Maybe not several. Two, maybe. Year and a half, two years. About selling a significant part of my collection. Downsizing and focusing on what truly matters to me as a nostalgic childhood collector. And I'm okay with it. I don't really feel any sort of remorse right now. I can't say I won't in the future. Say, oh man, I wish I would have kept my Inhumanoids. You know, but I can always buy them back, too, if I want to. Right now, I am doing the fatherly duty and, you know, saving for my daughter and her college. And it's just the right thing to do. And I urge any of you out there, I don't want to preach, but, you know, do the best for your family. Do the best for your kids, right? That's what it's all about at the end of the day. So what does the future hold for Matt Stryker and Reezy's Retro Toys? Well, guys, I still plan on going to the shows and the toy stores to make video content for all of you subscribers and those who enjoy watching the channel. I might not be buying as much as I used to. However, I still enjoy the camaraderie of the hobby itself. I've met some wonderful people, made some great best friends out of this hobby, too. And there's something to be said about that. And I want to still capture and document these toy shows as they're meant to be seen as if you were actually there yourself. So that's about it, guys. Right now, I have several empty shelves that I'm going to try to fill with whatever I have left. Some Ninja Turtles stuff. And I'll be pretty happy to see some of my Star Wars collection again. I'm not going to lie. So be sure to hit that like button if you enjoyed this video. And subscribe to my channel at Reezy's Retro Toys for all of your toy hunting needs. Thanks for watching, guys. Thanks for viewing. Keep on hunting. Keep on hunting.
