[00:00:00] Speaker 1: What's up guys, Ryan with Gentle Patrol back another video. It is Sunday, final day of STCC and Hot Toys finally dropped the doomsday figures that I know everybody's freaking out about right now. Now I was out and about doing things so I wasn't uh you know first on this and live streaming and all that stuff but here we are. I have thoughts. I want to talk about those with you guys here. So if you haven't already subscribed channel please do so. Do that now. I have a pile of unboxings and figure reviews and posing things coming. Somebody commented on a previous video and says I'm unsubscribing because you don't do unboxings anymore. And uh you know I get it. I understand man but maybe we'll win you back. Maybe we'll win you back. I don't know. Eventually we'll we'll do have unboxings already recorded just waiting on official embargo release dates. So stay tuned for that. While that's happening we have Hot Toys to talk about. Now I gotta be honest with you guys there's a lot of stuff going on here. Doomsday I think this line is going to be so deep in the uh figure realm. It is going to eclipse Infinity War and Endgame and it's going to be absolutely silly. Whether you're collecting Hot Toys or you're collecting uh Marvel Legends or uh SX Figure. What all the lines are going to capitalize on this because Marvel has been dead for a pretty good minute. So where do we want to start? We've got we've got a um Magneto. We got a Gambit. We got a Cyclops. We got a Doom. And uh I think let's start with uh let's start with Magneto. Can we do that? Let's start with Magneto. Deluxe version. Now they're going to have two versions. They're going to have a regular version and a uh deluxe version for all of these figures. But uh let's let's just let's just see what we got here. Let's go through this thing. Now it looks like from some of the con footage I've seen uh the helmet does not come off of this guy. So this is not a you get a helmet and you don't get a helmet. It's not an artisan figure. It's not it's it's just not that. It is a Magneto helmet with rooted hair stuff in the back and that's it. Now I'm not I'm okay with that. I'm perfectly fine with that. So uh but if you're expecting to see this figure with a helmet and then another sculpt without a helmet you you may be disappointed. So warning. Now who knows we might see you know two different versions of each character for this film as well. So who knows. But this is deluxe version with the Sentinel base. So it clearly based on what we're seeing with all this the Sentinels are going to play a pretty good part in this film. If not then the bases make no flipping sense whatsoever. But uh they're gonna definitely take up shelf space. No question. If you get all of these with the uh Sentinel heads you're it might look cool. We'll find out. I know. But uh as far as the Magneto figure goes I think this looks absolutely stunning. Stunning. Absolutely stunning. Now I have the comic one from who I had the sideshow. I had well I had I had the sideshow Magneto and then I got the Hono Toys Magneto. That was freaking cool. No doubt about it. But it was not Sir Ian McKellen. It wasn't. So here it is. This thing looks phenomenal. I am uh I'm pretty stoked about it. I'm a little like the suit itself like the character design seems a little muted for him. He's aged. No pun intended. But it's just not flamboyant Magneto. And I'm wondering why he has the X-Men symbol on his belt buckle. So I guess we'll figure that out in the film. And um you know where it's gonna fall into the timeline of what's happening in X-Men 97 and what timeline we're on and what multi for who the hell knows. We don't know. By the way if you're not watching X-Men 97 what are you doing though? And by the way one other thing. If you fast forward through the X-Men 97 intro theme song we can't be friends. Just saying. Um just can't. All right this thing looks sick. The sculpt on this looks amazing. Moving eyeballs. No shocker there. The gloves are covered up by the uh the wrists are covered up by the suit which I like that. I'm not sure how posel it's gonna be because I'm looking at the poses on this guy. And granted he's not a dynamic fighting figure regardless. But uh I'm looking at like the thickness of the material they use. And it looks it kind of reminds me of the uh the Mando. Mandalorian. Where the suit material holds him back. Or maybe the body suit or the fat suit whatever you want to call it. Uh maybe it's holding him back. Or maybe he's just you know he's just like dude I'm uh you know Omega level uh threat and I don't need to move. I'll just stand here. The other thing I'm noticing in here if you go through some of these photos. The boots appear to be non-moving. Like there's no bend in that boot at all. And there's only a couple photos of them but they don't appear to bend. So they've got to be sculpted. And uh which is unfortunate because we got these scout troopers from Star Wars with the boot design that were super posable. Like super posable. So yeah I don't know. This base I think is pretty sick. I'm not sure how many of these bases I need for each character. And whether you get the deluxe or you don't get the deluxe. We'll have to see about that. But as far as the likeness on this one I think it looks awesome. And I think this is a win. So of the ones we've seen so far. I think this is an absolute win. No question about it. That sculpt is crazy good. That one. It's just it's stunning. Absolutely. Specially designed at sentinel themed diorama base. So I dig this. I think it's cool. Accessories why highly detail screen accurate suit. Yeah. All right. So on the deluxe we're going to get the base. If you want the base. If you don't want the base. Uh then you don't. Now the one thing with the base is I don't see where he could possibly stand on the base without us the uh the flight pole like supporting him. Like there's no flat spots on this thing. So that's kind of strange. But we get a pile of hands. We get a wire cape. And um yeah looks good. So backing up. Let's back up here. Go back to photos and go back to albums. And I guess this is going to take a minute. Look at that. So many photos. So then we go to Gambit. And why did we get Gamma for Deadpool Wolverine? I don't freaking know. I thought this. I don't know. I don't know. Whatever. I like the design of the one from Deadpool versus Wolverine. I like the more flamboyant colors. I like the different colored blutes or shin guards. I like I like those. But they decided to tease us with that and not give it to us. And now here we are. We're gonna get this one now. We got a little bit of smirk there. The hair looks fine. The posable wire jacket looks fine. I didn't see in here where it's leather. Maybe I missed it. But I'll double check it. But I didn't see where this is genuine leather. You guys can correct me if you want to. The suit material kind of looks like a Wolverine or a Deadpool suit. As far as the pleatherish rubbery type material. We got a more of a dark muted gray for the shin armor, leg armor, if you want to call it that. And then the purple parts in the in the torso is also muted. I don't know. I'm not sold on the sculpt 100%. But it's not enough for me to like, you know, go, I'm not gonna buy this. Love the card effects. Those are sick. I'm gonna imagine if those are a specific hand that comes with those accessories or not, or those are definitely add on stuff. But I like these. I think it looks pretty good posability. I feel like that's a pretty good pose to be able to do the neat. That's pretty good. So I'm pretty stoked for this. The question is, are we going to get the whole team? Yeah, the sculpt. That's the old one sculpt just yet. Slightly better. We get a different diorama sentinel base. Leather-like. There it goes. Leather-like micro fiber material coat. Bendable wire embedded. There's your answer. I thought I saw something about that earlier. Yeah. So is that, you know, hot toys doing hot toys things. What are you going to do? Kinetic energy effects can be assembled into a wide variety of combinations. Oh boy. I don't. Yeah. Okay. And then you get, if you get the deluxe, you get the base. I think the base is cool. I like that it's different than the other ones, because if they all have the same diorama base, that would be really stupid. But, um, I think gambits a win. I like it. I'm a, I'm a fan. So let's go back here. What else we got? And I'm saving Dr. Doom for last for specific reasons. So Cyclops. Now I am a huge Cyclops fan. Huge. I mean, I just, if you go back again, I'll reference the, uh, the 97 show, but in, in the comics, but Cyclops is a jacked up dude. Like he did not skip shoulder day ever, ever, ever, ever, ever like traps and shoulders back day. He never skipped it ever. And I see him in one, six scale form as a live action person. And it appears he skipped shoulder day. I'm just like, ah, the pants remind me of like one of the old, um, Captain America, like age of Ultron, Captain America. Like those, that's how the pants remind me of. And then he's got, so he's got like fabric pants and then he's got the rubbery type top. It's strange. I don't know what to make of that, but it, there's a light sheen going onto the top. That's not on the bottom. And that's weird to me. So I, I'm not sure. I'm not sure how I feel about that. I would have, I like the posability options of the fabric material on the bottom and, but the mismatch is a little strange and maybe it's just me. Maybe I'm going crazy. Another diorama base with the deluxe. That thing looks pretty sick. I'd be, I'd be honest with you. That's pretty cool. I don't know that I want, I, I like the pose. I don't know that I would use this swooshing effect of more on a forward optic blast. I feel would be a little bit better, but I like this. I think that's pretty sick. I like that one too. I like those effects. Those effects, those effects are better than these effects. Yeah. You guys see what I'm seeing as far as the top goes? Like I want to zoom in here. It would be a little bit blurry cause I'm zooming in, but the pleathery stuff up top, rubbery, and then the fabric at the bottom. I don't know. It's just weird. Weird. It doesn't translate well in my opinion. So I don't know. Pose wise again, he's going to get more posability. We get a jacket. Finally jacket is inspired by a comic. Love that. Love that. Which means I would imagine they're putting that note on there. That's not actually in the film. This is like a bonus that they're going, Hey, uh, we're not making another cyclops. So here's your jacket and don't bug us about it. So that's how I'm taking this thing. Oh, but I'm super happy to have it. So again with the boots, I'm not seeing any movement in these boots. Are they all getting sculpted boots? Look at the, look at the feet. There is no bend in those ankles. Like none, none, no bend, dude. Are we regressing hot toys and going, Hey, look, we're, we're going to, I don't know, man. There's, there's no movement at all in these boots. Why? Probably because of those new stupid ankle pegs they're using. And I fricking hate those things. I said that many times. Interchangeable optic black. All right. So you get one, four facing blasts. We get one. Those are freaking cool. I like them all. Cool. Maybe the bottom left one. That one's probably the weakest of the ones. And it doesn't appear like it has a light up function. I don't see that. So, oh, there it is. Light up. It's right there. Learn how to read, dude. LED light up function. Powered by USB. I like that. Interesting. All right. Moving on. Moving on. Let's go to Dr. Doom. Now, well, I guess there are some other here. Sancho did this video. I'll put it on here. I got the sound muted, but they've got Dr. Doom here and they're going to show us some other things that aren't actually in these four order pages. Sorry. Here's Professor X. I think this looks absolutely phenomenal. Cannot wait. I love it. I want, and go ahead and I'm going ahead and tell you right now. I will be, if it doesn't exist, if it doesn't exist, I will 3D print him the X-Men 97 yellow hover chair. Straight up with just 3D print it because that's what he deserves. And while this is cool, it goes back to the Fox name, you know, years ago. This chair is cool. He deserves the hover chair and I will 100% if they don't give us one, which it doesn't appear they will. I will 3D print one and this chair will stay in the box. There's that. But I think this likeness is stupid good, man. What the hell? Wow. I mean, they nailed that. Absolutely nailed it. But he looked, again, we saw Magneto already. Cyclops we saw. They're going to see Beast, I think here in a second. Yeah, there's Beast. All right. So people have commented on Beast and I do think this is the weakest one out of all the ones that they've shown so far. The joints and the shoulders look terrible. The head sculpt is okay, I guess, for whatever reason. It is, I don't know how you would realistically create a Beast figure. I guess this is what they could do, but I'm not feeling it. I want to see more. When we get some promo photos and it's up for order, I'll talk more about it. But right now, not my favorite. There's Gambit. Yeah, still need to work on that like this. And then we get a Sentinel. The Sentinel is pretty cool. So I saw it, the Sentinel posed up to the other, I saw the SDCC, you know, display or whatever. The Sentinel is cool. Will I get it or not? I don't know. It looks poseable, kind of got a little, you know, Marvel legend vibe going on with the plastic stuff or the joints. But I, you know, I'm okay with that, I guess, for that part. Now getting back to Dr. Doom. Where do I want to go? I want to go. Sorry, I'm bouncing around. Dr. Doom. So we're going to have an exclusive little edition where you'll be able to get this figure like pretty close to the movie release date, which is freaking awesome. I think that's cool. If you want this figure. And that is the question we're trying to determine is, do we want this figure? Do we not want this figure? I don't know. We'll see. We get a mystery accessory, which is probably a Downey sculpt. I don't know. We'll see. But the question is, is this a good Dr. Doom figure? And I'll be honest with you, it looked pretty freaking awesome to me. We get a ring, which nobody cares about. Another diorama base. This is going to be the, uh, the ultimate version. So we get a dual color switchable LED lighting, yellow and green, uh, with this bait. I'm kind of, I might get all these freaking bases guys. I might. I'm, I'm remodeling and I've, I don't really know where I will put them, but I kind of want them all. So we'll see. But anyways, highly detailed screen accurate costume. I think this costume is pretty sick, especially painted metallic colored armor. A die cast would have been better hot toys. You should have give us a die cast. Doom. That would be sick. Moveable eyes. Love that. I think this is cool. Now I want to like some switch up. Maybe I've got them switch out face plates, but I'm sorry for bouncing back and forth, but sentinel themed diorama base with an LED lineup function featuring switchable colors, yellow and green. I don't care if it switches yellow and green. I'm guessing that has something to do with the film. So we'll figure that out later, but, um, I'm, I'm assuming going green. Doom's going to, you know, command the sentinels and they're going to change the green instead of yellow. I assume that's how that's going to play out. But, um, I think this is cool, man. At least he's got, he's got posable ankles. He's the only one that does. Ah, dude, he looks great. Those wired, uh, Cape field. That looks sick. And there's no, they haven't shown a regular stand in any of these. So with the deluxe, you get the sentinel base and the other ones you get the standard base, but ooh, this looks sick. This is crazy. Now, um, book inspired by a concept art like that. Give me back to the accessories. All right. Here's the early access version. So this is the version you'll get if you want to get it fast. Like if you want it, one of the early releases, bam, you want to, you want it near the time of the movie. So if you want the ultimate version and you want the diorama base sent on all that stuff, then you got to wait. And they're going, if you want it fast, we'll give you this stripped down version and, uh, you get the figure and you get a couple of hands and you get the regular hexagonal stand that's been Marvel's been using forever. Oh, and you get a ring. But if you want all the things, I mean, look how much, let's back up. Uh, there's a lot of photos of this guy. Come on. Here, let me just back up. If you want all the things that come with the ultimate version, um, yeah, you don't get the base or the book or whatever the mystery accessory is. So if you want the early version, you'll get the mystery. And if the mystery accessory is a head school, like that's kind of a big deal. So what to do, what to do, what to do? I don't know. Now, if they, if hot toys was very generous to us, which they're certainly not going to be, they would offer an early version, early release version. And then they would sell the sentinel hand separately as a separate piece. Like that's, they should have straight up sell the sentinel hands separately. Now they're not going to do that. They're going to make you, Hey, if you want it now, you're going to have to order this cheaper version. And then if you want all the stuff, you're going to have to double dip. So I predict there will be a lot of Dr. Dooms on the, uh, secondary market, uh, whenever the deluxe version or the ultimate version actually gets released. So that's my prediction. Now, the question is, which one should you buy? If we jump over to the side show, we have the newest one. So the ultimate version, I'm sorry, the regular version is $285, right? Then the ultimate version is $390. So we're charging, they're charging $105 for that diorama base. Now, which may seem like a lot of money. However, it's a larger piece. You've got shipping involved from overseas to California, and then, you know, whatever shipping is going to be from there to your house. So there's a lot going on there. Um, however, you could not build that diorama, paint it. You couldn't sculpt it, 3d model it, paint it, light it, all that kind of stuff for a hundred bucks and do it on mass. So honestly, that's a pretty good frigging deal. I mean, honestly, now you may not want it and you may not want to pay for it and you may not need it or whatever, but as far as value goes, that diorama piece right there probably worth a hundred bucks. By the time it's all said and done, probably worth a hundred bucks, in my opinion. So, um, Magneto's $285, Dr. Doom Ultimate version 390, Cyclops 2, again, so we're looking at $400 per figure if you want the deluxe. So we've gotten one, two, uh, Magneto, oh, where you got Magneto? Three, four. So it's $1,600 so far. And we haven't even covered the throne yet. We haven't gotten to the throne yet, which is something else, uh, 600 bucks. And the throne, what else is it here? Sideshow says the throne is going to be $210 for the throne and the throne looks cool, but it's nothing you couldn't 3d print. And then they're giving you a cardboard backdrop, which is complete trash. Like, I don't know, man. It's a, it's a fricking chair. It looks good and I'll probably get it, but is it as cool as the Sentinel hand? Not really. And six skill figures don't generally sit down very well. In fact, if you look at these photos of him sitting, it's, it's not natural. It doesn't look human-like. So it's awkward. So I would skip the throne. Honestly, because you can't fricking not, you can't fricking use it. And you get a cardboard backdrop, which I think is stupid as hell. But if you back up here and look at these, I guarantee you that's an awkward looking pose from any other angle. That's awkward from this angle. That looks ridiculous. That six skill figures suck at sitting down. And I guarantee you his feet's not on the ground. So yeah. All right. So the throne, eh, not a big deal. Now, the question I got for you guys, if I can, is which Dr. Doom should you get? Now you get the movie, Dr. Doom is $285. So you get the deluxe for 390. But if you go back and you remember, they release this other version of Dr. Doom, which is now a wait list and sold out at Sajo anyways. All right. This is the comic version. And you've got the banner in the back, which is a pretty cool frigging diarma piece. Honestly, it's pretty frigging cool. You've got rolling eyeballs, get different face masks. You get some effects, which is fine. And I want you to look at this. This is interesting. So if you're wondering what these things are worth these days, the retail on this guy was $280 for the special edition. So $280. Check out what this guy's doing in a secondary market. Now, if you're unfamiliar, this is sixscalemarket.com, which is my own website that I created to track pricing, you're looking on six scale figures and other venues or other lines. So check it out. Link in the description below. That's a seven day free trial and you get all kinds of cool data like this. So you can figure out, should you buy something? Should you not buy something? And you can see it in a very quick snapshot, whether or not something's worth whatever you think it's worth. So here it is. This is the Dr. Doom's comic edition, right? Retails $280. I want you to look at the sales on this guy. This is crazy. This is January. So $370. Okay. So it's going over retail. But honestly, $370, by the time you bought it for $280 paid sales tax and shipping and then resold it, not a lot of profit there. So $370 is not crazy. Then it jumps up $475 after it got waitlisted, $510. And it's kind of bouncing back and forth. Somebody dumped one for $343 right there. But look at this, $517. And we just got a sale for $408. That was from July 20th, $43. Well, if you look at July 25th, this is, this, well, today's the 26th. So this was yesterday. Somebody sold one for $575. Look at this $575. Plus $25 shipping. So 600 bucks for the comic version. Now, somebody earlier, a couple of days ago, got a deal on one for $326. So somebody was asleep at the wheel and, or somebody got a good deal. So that's cool. Oh, look, you can buy it now. Is it from overseas? Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Look at this. Shipping. Stupid. So that's not that great, but $575, $574, $524, $400, $499, $450. I mean, this guy is trending for over retail for a long time and, or for a, for a life. And then you go back to, you know, it was 280 bucks. And then we jump back over here. I don't think this movie one's going to do that. The comic one is got the comic history behind it. So I don't know. You guys like, like, I like this one. I like the comic version. I didn't buy it because I just have too many freaking figures, uh, to go chasing down comic lines, but I like this one, but I kind of also like, I like this deluxe thing with the base and I like this design. I like the more intricate design for the film. I don't know. Pretty good looking like the chain mail stuff. I don't know, man. At the end of the day, if the film is really good, the film version will win, but in the long run, comic will win. That's my prediction. That's my thoughts, but you guys can go check out six scale market.com for all your collecting needs and see what's going on with these things. If you like, um, that would be pretty cool. Check it out. All right. That's all I got for today. I'm sure we've got more to talk about, but for right now, I think this video is probably long enough. I don't know how long it is and I've got work to do. So appreciate you guys. Hope y'all have a good rest of your weekend and subscribe if you haven't done so. As always, click what you like. See you next time.
