FULL INTERVIEW: Oba Femi isn't hard to find: SummerSlam 2026 Post-Show highlights

[1:00] You weren't joining us on post shows at PLEs with tens of thousands behind you celebrating victories. [1:08] Here we are on August 1st, and you just defeated Brock Lesnar in a Hell in a Cell match. [1:16] And yet it seems like it just fits for you. [1:19] And the way you talk about it, we heard you post-match. [1:22] This is your reality, and you know it. [1:24] How do you feel? [1:25] I feel amazing. [1:26] I feel amazing. [1:27] This is great. [1:32] All right, all right. [1:48] We just heard Paul, Triple H, Levesque. [1:50] We saw Brock raise your hand and says, here's the future. [1:53] We heard Triple H endorse that kind of a statement. [1:57] What is your reaction to know that publicly, from Brock, in front of these fans, in front of the media, that is what is said of you now? [2:04] There are certain people who are just bred for the spotlight. [2:08] They exist. [2:10] I am one of those people. [2:12] I'm not just any other NXT call-up. [2:15] And Paul knows it. [2:17] Nick knows it. [2:18] Every single person in this company, in this industry, in this business knows it. [2:24] And for once, there's somebody sitting on that pedestal that you don't have to squint your eyes and tilt your head before you can see them as the guy. [2:33] Because I am that guy. [2:34] I am that man. [2:36] So anybody who is waiting for me at the end of the line, I'm not hard to find. [2:42] I'm very hard to beat. [2:44] Now, Oba, we've always, from the second we first got our eyes on you in NXT, I think the physical prowess has been obvious. [2:54] But to me, what has impressed me the most over the last several months is how comfortable you are in that microphone, in that ring, week to week, right now. [3:03] Did you always know that you had all of the tools for WWE, not just the physical tools in the ring? [3:10] I've always known, just like I said, I was bred for this. [3:14] It's just, it's almost like they made me in a lab specifically to do this. [3:19] And it's not just the physical, it's the way I carry myself. [3:22] It's my aura. [3:23] It's my whatever, you know, whatever they say these days. [3:26] But I am that guy. [3:28] There are some people who say they are the best on this microphone, in that ring. [3:33] Even at commentary, right? [3:36] Where you wanna drop pipe bombs and all that stuff. [3:41] All that. [3:42] But understand one thing. [3:43] Your bombs don't walk when it comes to Obafemi. [3:47] You are gifted on this mic and so am I. [3:49] Oba, first time I met you was three years ago. [3:55] You had just gotten signed. [3:56] You were helping out with the trials at IMG. [3:59] Can you talk about the journey over these three years as a guy that the coaches in NXT had pegged? [4:05] This guy has a lot of promise. [4:07] He's gonna be someone to go from that to now main eventing SummerSlam to getting a reception like this. [4:15] Everywhere you go. [4:16] As not just, hey, here's a young guy who's, as one of the biggest names we have right now. [4:21] All the future talk to me should be out the window because you are the present. [4:24] Can you talk about what these three years in WWE have meant to you? [4:29] It's been a lot of pressure. [4:32] It's been a lot of pressure because when everyone's saying, you are the future, you are the this, you are the that, you are the one, you are the- [4:38] That kind of pressure breaks men. [4:41] Sometimes I feel like it's a miracle that I'm even still in this position. [4:44] You know what I mean? [4:45] But I'm here. [4:46] Here I am. [4:48] You know, pressure makes diamonds. [4:50] Yeah? [4:53] And diamonds stay shining. [4:55] Over as many congratulations well deserved as they are as you've already received in the moments since Hell in a Cell. [5:04] I just wanna ask you a favor. [5:06] I just want you as the ruler, the new alpha male here in WWE without dispute after tonight, [5:13] to take a look at the landscape and what now belongs to you. [5:17] This is yours. [5:19] This belongs to Obafemi. [5:21] It does indeed, doesn't it? [5:37] You love your ruler, don't you? [5:42] Before we let you go, can I just, I wanna throw one thing out there. [5:47] Can we put one thing to bed? [5:49] There is a conversation around Brock Lesnar, I feel among fans, that they've always felt like, [5:54] Brock is this animal who doesn't love professional wrestling. [5:58] He just shows up, beats people up and goes home. [6:00] And that's a big part of what he's done. [6:02] What he showed in there with you tonight was his true love of professional wrestling. [6:07] And what he really thinks about you. [6:10] When you get home tonight and sit and take this whole night in. [6:13] Really, what will that moment mean? [6:15] That's rarefied air. [6:16] He didn't just lift your hand. [6:18] He gave you a hug. [6:19] He asked for a mic and said, you're the future. [6:22] How do you process that? [6:23] I mean, we all know Brock is a beast. [6:26] He presents as a beast. [6:27] He's a monster. [6:28] He's been dominant for 25 years. [6:30] But amongst all that, he might be superhuman, but he is still very much human. [6:37] He's a human being. [6:40] He's a man. [6:41] He's a father. [6:42] He's an athlete. [6:43] He has feelings as well. [6:45] So to Brock, I wish you all the best, man. [6:48] I really do.
