[00:00:00] Nate: all right welcome back transformers fans to another fan stream of course i've got with me evan and mark is back he's here uh and i'm nate it's great to be back with you guys great to be with you guys as well uh we're gonna go through uh our new york toy fair reveal so we got a bunch of studio series 86 figures that we're gonna go through uh something extra special as well uh so this is really kind of kicking off the 86 campaign uh in full we obviously had some pre-orders in 2025 of course 86 sound wave uh 86 thunder cracker but we've got seven new figures we're going to reveal today on this fan stream again this will all be at new york toy fair we'll show them off in person uh pre-orders are going to be for one item we'll get into exactly when that's going to be but this one right here but the other the figures are going to be pre-ordering february 17th that's a transformers tuesday at 1 p.m eastern time uh and from there i say let's go ahead and get into the figures well not to set you up but aren't we celebrating something big we are celebrating something so big so for other than that return this is cool this is why cool uh so yeah we're really gonna be kicking off you know the 86 campaign 40th anniversary but also the the official apology tour now we were not in the writer's room when they decide you know it's a great idea let's kill off optimus prime we were not there for that but i was just being conceived that's right yeah uh so yeah we're gonna be kicking off this apology tour um so really excited about this but again it really kicks off in earnest at new york toy fair there's gonna be so many events really making a big deal but this is like the biggest it was a big deal it was a big deal [00:01:39] Speaker 2: well first of all the pinnacle of transformers is the 86 movie 100 100 that's the pinnacle and then that experience of optimus actually dying on screen something that only could have happened in the 80s i'll tell you it was something number times new toys what do we do just kill them all off a lot of [00:01:56] Nate: tears a lot of tears a lot of tears a lot of tears and now those tears in blasting um so we're so excited to launch this apology tour and again 40 years later still hits like a truck uh so we're very excited so from there let's go ahead and get to the figures uh i think we're gonna start with deluxe scale [00:02:13] Speaker 3: yes uh i think we'll start with a few of our package refreshers dealer stores yeah so why not we'll start with sunstreaker who shows up piloting the arc with optimus prime in the movie and then is in some of the background shots it may or may not have survived but yeah so we're breaking the bonds of exclusivity yeah and we're kind of package refreshing some of the figures that were locked into our five pack previously so this is the animation deco version of the sunstreaker that was previously earthrise [00:02:39] Speaker 2: yes yes and yeah uh i like it it's a fantastic i mean the thrusters do come off on a five millimeter port so you're going to use that for a weapon and those of you who have that breakdown spoiler you didn't you can kind of fit it on your back end that is always the biggest criticism is the spoiler and we'll work on that yeah i love sunstreaker i always like how he's always like don't scratch the paint job [00:03:02] Nate: yeah so he's so concerned with his paint job but like for this so for this one and leading into the next one wheel jack yeah oh okay yeah so these two and hound um so i know with speculations are there questions like what are they gonna do with the mold well we kind of sat around and looked at the mold and looked at the deco and i mean i think we all agreed that there wasn't a there really wasn't much to improve on these molds and really getting it out into studio series packaging in that branding and getting it out of that [00:03:33] Speaker 3: five pack autobot pack for now for sure uh using what we had this is what we thought was the best to do because obviously we were trying to match animation this is how they showed up wheel jack's [00:03:43] Speaker 2: body does appear in the film so his body yeah i'm noticing something about this wheel jack that i had [00:03:50] Speaker 3: no knowledge of previously that blaster weapon yeah i mean it's the uh it's the alita yeah we wanted to make sure that he included at least a blaster and which that was also part of the five pack so looks great he at least was able to get his it looks great we got we had to give him something [00:04:06] Speaker 2: because he needed his shoulder rocket right yes indeed you don't want to use that as the like your handgun you want to use a little blaster differently exactly exactly but good thank you but everybody [00:04:16] Speaker 3: is probably tuning in for new news new news new news so uh i think we'll get into i think one of our our biggest reveals that everybody's been waiting for oh man yeah yeah you scream the science here [00:04:31] Speaker 2: this is i have a character i've been waiting for for a long time yes i believe your exact words were [00:04:35] Speaker 3: when we started this off so uh brought to you by the amazing yuki son over at takara tommy 40 years later we have kranix uh shows up in the beginning and the middle of the 86 movie and maybe not has the best fate but no no showed up in the movie so he gets a fake i mean it's just fascinating i love the style [00:04:59] Speaker 2: because obviously it's off world and unicron's like eating the planet and yes there's a race of [00:05:04] Speaker 3: these guys i think that is i don't even know what the they call themselves lithonians i think of the planet it was like lithom or something like that i love it i love it because i love that they were previously supposed to be like rock people and then they changed it halfway through um fascinating [00:05:18] Speaker 2: yeah i just love the style that they went with for that character and you captured it beautifully [00:05:24] Speaker 3: here oh yeah yuki and i went back and forth and he did just a phenomenal job trying to make this happen and then of course his old mode is based off of his there was an actual like sketch of what he was supposed to convert into at one point in time so uh what they did is that ended up showing up in the original comic book adaptation in the 80s of the movie back when they were working off of a previous script so that's what we use as the basis for yeah experience experience yeah um so yeah so that's what we base this off of and as you call it the [00:05:55] Speaker 2: flying duck spaceship mode is like one of my favorites it's so it's like goofy but yeah it's so it's so 86 it's yeah transformers it just like hits hard it hits like a truck and this is correct [00:06:10] Nate: me wrong but this is the first time that not only were you getting this bonus first time we're getting [00:06:14] Speaker 3: we're getting a converting crannix because we did converting yes yeah we got a bit of judgment yeah [00:06:19] Nate: he was like five six years ago which is cool yeah i mean that was cool and i was pretty happy with that [00:06:26] Speaker 2: but then you deliver this and i'm like okay now we're talking yep and then we just got to do arbalist [00:06:30] Speaker 3: and we'll yes yes don't worry he's on the to-do list everybody awesome yeah we'll be look it's unicron [00:06:37] Speaker 2: exactly for those of you who have you crying you can like do that episode i have seen that as part of [00:06:45] Speaker 3: movie which is really cool i made this mockery ambitious yeah that's one of the great one movie [00:06:50] Speaker 2: is just filled with incredible lines which he has great lines this is why he's a fan favorite [00:06:55] Speaker 3: character i think yeah all right awesome all right so moving on to voyager that's deluxe scale [00:07:01] Nate: that is going to voyager dealer's choice which one do you want next we'll start with the redick [00:07:06] Speaker 3: oh okay all right so i think because it's sweet oh yeah because is there anything better than a black [00:07:15] Nate: and purple like color seeker yeah it really isn't there really isn't look at that jet and again like just we did a comparison a couple weeks ago a couple months ago whatever it was of from the masterpiece model that tt did and it just this is really just like a mini masterpiece i mean you you've done you just knocked out of the park with these and oh i think you can sound over yeah of course i i think what could be amazing is maybe uh maybe a sunstorm redeco wow really going on going on a hyper acid [00:07:47] Speaker 3: storm what about your eyes oh that weird odd camo star screen that came out but i don't even know if [00:07:57] Speaker 2: it came out or not there's like an obscure camo it's not the cloud there's no it's a diet i love the cloud cover yeah but that was a ramjet so that was the conehead there was actually a starspring one [00:08:08] Speaker 3: i don't know there's so many unreal yeah there is and we will do them all yeah hopefully hopefully with this mold because it's outstanding but of course so sky warp here has a unique face plate so he's got a different expression than thunder cracker uh still converts to the jet still has the landing gear still has the cockpit that opens still has all the articulation that you expect and as we've been saying please expect this mold in every flavor and color that you could ever want oh it looks good in the lights [00:08:35] Nate: and we can confirm and i think everyone knows but obviously starscream is going to be coming as well as part of the 40th anniversary celebration it's almost like we're predictable at this point yeah uh but obviously i complete that team and i know we've had lots of conversations about okay so who's who's the next kind of like tier b one again i'm voting for some store myself but wow interesting more to follow more to follow but here he is sky warp love this one love this this deco here yeah um and then moving over to 86 shockwave voyager scale oh i haven't actually done a lot with the [00:09:12] Speaker 2: extra but it's amazing that you actually made the shockwave compatible well it was very shoulder it [00:09:22] Speaker 3: was very easy because i worked with a sui son on this who happened to work on most of this yeah pretty much yeah yeah so except for i think ajima-san did vortex yes exactly um so this is a partial off of the war for cybertron shockwave that we did previously so he's been cleaned up a little bit um so a little bit smoother a little bit more animation accurate we chose this color purple because shockwave's color fluctuates a lot in the series i know what's that um so going back and forth with takara tommy this was kind of the purple that we landed on it's like a good solid decepticon purple i love it i love it yeah and then obviously bruticus very famously grabs him in an episode and uses him as a blaster so we wanted to make sure to get some of that compatibility in there and it made sense to just have him connect and convert into a shoulder rocket uh just for stability and things like that that looks so cool yeah i think so uh he obviously he comes with a tiny blaster version of himself which is which is what we do with megatron yeah exactly whatever but that was there was a very famous animation error where he's holding somebody holding himself and so that's one of the reasons that's in there but it also serves a purpose of being a locking mechanism of when he converts into the shoulder cannon so that's another reason that's there uh he still converts into his spaceship submarine but i'm not going to stop you from holding it upside down yeah exactly exactly exactly exactly but yeah so that's going to be it for voyager unless there's anything you want to talk about bruticus at all i mean it's [00:10:58] Nate: funny because i was just going to say uh so we did the full color render uh reveal at ccxp goodness in december um it's been a long time and there was some potential images that got out there that were not correct they didn't come from us but i don't know if you want to take a moment to just talk about the completed bruticus because this is really the first time obviously swindle [00:11:18] Speaker 3: his and he'd be one swindle so he's not rightish colors all right but that's all right this is the [00:11:23] Nate: latest brook i didn't think about it but this is actually the latest bruce um that was shown in toy [00:11:28] Speaker 2: he just looks so powerful in person and especially in scale with shockwave it looks very very impressive hasui-san and obviously ajima-san did a tremendous job on this character this combiner skeleton with all the characters it was key making swindle and brawl at voyager scale to actually get that girth there like they're thick big boys like and actually swindle ankle ratchet yes indeed and also swindle actually comes with a little uh back uh caboose right that hooks on could be a gunter and that also like amps up his weaponry which is really cool i mean a lot of blast power just i mean it's really nice to see a completed bruticus and all the combaticons individually be really strong so i'm very very pleased with the colors too the colors came out really really fantastic yeah [00:12:20] Nate: it looks spectacular and then like when we kicked this off this was well before what we knew was going to happen in the energon universe comics which obviously bruticus is really getting his time to shine so it's awesome to see toy lining up with the story that synergy did not even know was going to happen so you know sometimes we're able to line it up perfectly sometimes it just works because sometimes focus on the same awesome characters so this is really cool to you've got content out there while uh while the toys shout out to kirkman and that's right yeah you guys are crushing it [00:12:49] Speaker 2: 100 i love this i love the lights love these these just look so glimmering i love it all right then [00:12:57] Speaker 3: so we'll do leader let's do leader jump in the left and we'll start to make a refresh which is still wicked cool oh i mean this is my first time i know actually a lot of people [00:13:10] Speaker 2: reach out grimlock right off the rip really yeah yeah i don't have any g1 dynamite no no no oh man [00:13:17] Speaker 3: they were expensive back in the day so that was a big big christmas some two versions of them yeah oh okay really still grab the fascinating yeah which is because that's what was going on yeah yeah you [00:13:29] Nate: grab the missing link one that it's a car oh man that was just i just hit you up and i was like man [00:13:35] Speaker 2: this hits like a trust yeah zing i'm just gonna keep doing it you're crushing me on the references uh as [00:13:43] Speaker 3: as requested as they have been we are making sure to re-release all the dino bots um so what yeah i mean he had oh he already had the sword oh yeah that was just because in the animation that's what he had yeah yeah yeah so re-releasing 86 snarl shows up in two accidental scenes in the movie uh so that is why we were able to do an 86 figure of him that's awesome it's just another great opportunity [00:14:05] Nate: to get those dino bots out i still i think we've referenced before but i think when we first did grimlock a lot of people were hesitant because like oh are they really going to do the whole team at leader scale and then we did the second one and i was like oh crap i messed up on crimson so we're giving that another opportunity again when we're doing these package refreshes uh we want to make sure that it's it's a meaningful addition especially a figure like through covid and distribution [00:14:28] Speaker 3: issues back then uh so we should make sure that so we sounded all five dino bots yeah all right awesome yeah [00:14:34] Nate: calls that yeah they do but my favorite the big one and this is one where i've been probably reading too many comments on but the number of people is like oh it's such a bummer that they're gonna redeco or partial one of my all-time favorites astrotrain which we can confirm right here is 100 brand new all new tool astrotrain looks fantastic i mean i love the war for cybertron figure i mean don't get me wrong [00:15:02] Speaker 2: that's a cool great figure it came with a little uh weapon caboose this figure though is just right out [00:15:09] Speaker 3: the scene like right out the cartoon well this is brought to you by the amazing ajima song oh he knows a thing or two about making transforms uh so we went into this with a lot of ass and wants and ajima went above and beyond i think one of my biggest and favorite things about this is he actually made it so that the train linkages on the wheels when you convert roll can you roll yeah yeah so they actually yeah and it's [00:15:37] Speaker 2: i mean if you're not too chewing when you're doing that we're doing it wrong or it's not into trains [00:15:44] Speaker 3: trust me this is a triple interest this is a special interest triple threat right yeah mc indeed indeed it is oh yeah uh so astrotrain obviously turns into a space shuttle the train and we put in some he's got some extra hand articulation now as well uh so we gave him some hand flash so he can hold the old crown uh if for like great explanations to expect since he was the one yeah yeah uh he comes with his toy blaster and also what showed up in the g1 cartoon you can also manipulate his chest and if you want to do a old school yeah if you wanted to do the old school version you can actually open up oh my god that's a nice touch i love that yep there we go and get [00:16:28] Nate: that out there yes yeah so touch yeah that's a touch the blast effects yep comes with three blast effects [00:16:38] Speaker 2: the smoke talk about the iridescent smoke trail that's an amazing like add-on with the last effect [00:16:45] Speaker 3: oh i mean it's a train right another another weird thing is because we wanted to like replay that scene we actually didn't make it so that his back hatch opens up like gotta jettison some weight yeah if you still have any of like those mini like one inch slugs for that or no they weren't any one anchovic that came with unicorn even smaller yeah like a quarter of an inch that would be accurate to scale yeah cool something like that yeah yeah that'd be awesome wouldn't you it's a brand new astrotrain yeah yeah and i'm gonna get so much crap for this because at one point in time i was asked would you ever do a new astrotrain i was like oh we'll just redecol it which is what everyone's [00:17:24] Nate: expecting you know surprising though i expect i love how we're giving this one i fooled you all um so i think that covers the seven figures that will be launching into your toy fair it does so as i mentioned this will be february 17th these are all mainline multi-channel figures you can find is just about anywhere uh february 17th 1 p.m eastern standard time including pulse but we have one more special figure you're probably thinking what is this i have a feeling knowing you all that you probably knew exactly what this was going to be but in a very bootleg reveal fashion it's fancy black cloth and of course yes underneath is whoo there it is in all beauty we're talking about this and this was one that was i mean goodness a decades-long passion project for mark so mark was actually the designer on this one borrowed him over from age of the primes uh because i know you wanted to do this one so badly so from there talk to us about the matrix let me wait let's get that out here [00:18:31] Speaker 2: of course it's been a passion project i mean who wouldn't want to make the actual matrix of leadership in toy form for the first time from the 86 movie i spent an enormous amount of time in details like getting all of the sculpted detail correct because usually as you see like there's been releases of the matrix in the past before but none of them have been actually identical to what you see in the 86 film so this is straight up replica status the stand is actually really cool too there's some easter eggs in the cybertronian if anyone wants to light your darkest hour let's get like let's really show pick [00:19:13] Nate: it up let's see the scale can your fingers actually fit inside because i know a lot of people think that a lot of people are concerned about you know my fingers fit in i'll tell you this was a very very [00:19:24] Speaker 2: challenging thing to figure out because it has to be universal because you want a kid's hands uh uh girl's hands like adult hands robots yeah right yeah but let's let's start here because that is like it gives you the shivers right down the spine and then let's go to the next level [00:19:52] Nate: yeah back out of the frame for for this one yeah so obviously it does extend because again i feel like when people talk about if they are gonna ever do the matrix the two biggest features really three biggest features like it's gonna have stand bush the touch which it does the original recording you can actually fit your fingers in it and it extends which we have everything in here before i forget so this will take double a batteries but it also can be plugged in uh so for 24 7 display so you don't burn through all your batteries so perfect thank you very much so perfect display piece again we've seen all the fun that marvel and star wars power rangers ghosts all these other brands have done with the role play stuff and we uh we licensed out a matrix for transformers one in 2024 uh so more of a kid play i know a lot of people picked it up and we're really excited about but this is the first time we've done one certainly from hasbro that's fully fan targeted for for you all out there so really excited to deliver this one out there again with the display stand with the leds inside with the track i mean and the scale i think is [00:21:10] Speaker 2: perfect colors look at this gloss sheen the metallic gloss sheen on this thing is just glimmering in these lights it really does take you right to the moon it's just a fascinating piece yeah it's a fascinating piece to have on the shelf i mean i think all of you are going to be very excited to put [00:21:27] Nate: it on the shelf and it's i think i want to say it's the second one in studio series second item role play that we've done it's juice because we did a bumblebee helmet in like 2018 2019 i think letty actually yeah yeah so we took a hiatus but i hope that was averse this is the first 86 one definitely yeah first 86 but that one was in studio series and hopefully and our plan is transparently amongst friends that this will be the first of multiple role play items would love to see what you guys think which you do next uh again more transparent so we know what we're going to do next um 427 but uh really excited to bring this in mark obviously you crushed it and huge shout out to luke uh and peter as well who else is electronics they brought in brought in the special guys to help us it just feels so [00:22:16] Speaker 2: good to hold you know what i mean it's just like yeah yeah i just want to see the people do the 3d printed chains we were talking about doing the training but it it you got to get the authentic big links yeah [00:22:29] Speaker 3: like you got to really go hardcore with it it's got to be metal yeah yeah basically yeah yeah absolutely [00:22:36] Speaker 2: yeah i can't wait for you guys to get this one
