"But, but let's be honest, does anybody really think that this, that's the right answer, but let me, let me ask my rhetorical question here. [0:02] But, but let's be honest, does anybody really think that this, that's the right answer, but let me, let me ask my rhetorical question here. Does anybody really think that this guy is spending all that much time focused on the issues that matter to you?
[0:29] They, because I don't know if you've noticed, he's very focused on home renovations, should have a show on HGTV that the guy is building a ballroom that is bigger than the White House. He's paved over the Rose Garden, put a helicopter pad on the South Lawn, and there is gold everywhere. So much gold. Hey, he's, he is spending time. This is true. This is a fact. I'm not making this up.
[1:03] He, the president of the United States is spending time super gluing gold medallions to the mantle in the Oval Office. I am not making this up. He is literally doing arts and crafts while we are fighting a war and trying to deal with out of control prices. Now, now, now look, I heard, I heard the president was not happy when I joked over the weekend.
[1:41] That he's got the White House looking like Saddam Hussein opened a cheesecake factory. And, and, and listen, first of all, let me get this on the record. I am the father of two daughters. Do you think I could have survived their childhood without going to the cheesecake factory?
[2:10] I lived at Chuck E. Cheese and California Pizza Kitchen and the cheesecake factory. That was my jam for about a decade. Of course, the real problem is prices gotten so high. A lot of folks can barely afford to go out to eat.
[2:29] So you would think that this administration would be spending time worrying about that. But that was the interesting thing about how the administration responded to the speech I gave the other day.
[2:47] They did not dispute what I said about them being directly responsible for rising prices. They did not argue with that. They did not deny terrorists were contributing to higher costs for families. They didn't say anything about that.
[3:04] I accused this administration based on the facts that they were engaging in unprecedented levels of corruption. They didn't say anything about that. The president wasn't even mad about the Saddam Hussein comparison. That part didn't bother him. But he was very upset about the cheesecake factory comments. He took great umbrage. He said, I didn't understand the work of the artisans in the White House.
[3:10] They mobilized. They mobilized. This was this. This was this. I mean, it's all crazy.
[3:54] But this was the really crazy part. They mobilized a whole of government response to that joke, not to inflation, but to that joke, though, the White House even called the secretary of the Treasury.
[4:13] This is the man who is in charge of the economy. The person who's supposed to be figuring out how to make your life more affordable. The guy who's supposed to be figuring out how to lower inflation and reduce interest rates.
[4:30] They told him he should hold a press conference in front of the cheesecake factory. No, y'all didn't see this. This really happened. And the Treasury secretary, he happens to be a former hedge fund manager worth half a billion dollars.
[4:59] And he was out there in front of the cheesecake factory explaining how he ordered the delicious French dip cheeseburger instead of the egg rolls.
[5:11] Look, this is not something I ever thought of. Like, I inherited this major financial crisis.
[5:30] I never called my Treasury secretary, Tim Geithner, said, man, you've got to go to Arby's, order roast beef. No cheese, though, that may look elitist to everybody out there, including the press.
[5:52] I want you to understand this. This is what I mean when I say these are not serious people.
[5:58] They don't have solutions to actual problems. So they'd rather have the media and you talking about the cheesecake factory.
[6:10] That's the game they've been playing for the last two years. Just keep throwing distractions out there attacks, fabrications, phony outrage and hope that you won't notice that your bills are higher and your life is tougher.
[6:28] Except that okie doke will not work this time, Atlanta, because you know your prices are still up because you pay your utility bills.
[6:41] You've seen what those are like. You know, it's still hard to pay rent and pay for child care and pay for health insurance.
[6:49] And, you know, we need serious people who are listening to your concerns, who see you and care about you and have real plans to make your life better.
[6:59] People like John Ossoff, people like Keisha Lance Adams.
[7:03] Let me make this. Let me also add the because I try in addition to being a fat guy, I try to be fair.
[7:24] The president is not only interested in home decorations. He is very much focused on enriching himself and his family and his crones.
[7:34] We have never seen a president so intent on selling favors like this.
[7:41] We have lost count of all the deals he and his family have done.
[7:47] Mean coins, taxpayer funded contracts for his kids company.
[7:52] The guy has has made billions of dollars while in office.
[7:59] Understand this has not been done in modern times and not a single Republican in Congress has done anything to hold him to account.
[8:15] Has not uttered a peep. Has not said a word to say that is not right.
[8:22] That is not why we are in office.
[8:24] You cannot trade the office of the presidency and policy that affects Americans to make yourself money.
[8:33] That's not what we do. That's what dictators in other countries do.
[8:38] But that's not what we do. When I was president, we would scold other countries when they operated like that.
[8:50] And explain that not only is that not good for your people, it's not even good for business.
[8:55] If you have levels of corruption and pay to play like that, that's not how we're supposed to do things.
[9:02] And nobody, not a, not a single Republicans have said something about it.
[9:08] Certainly not Mike Collins.
[9:10] Not any of the Republicans on the ballot here in Georgia have said, you know what, that's, that's not right.
[9:16] Most of them supported him every step of the way.
[9:20] So you remember that drain the swamp?
[9:23] The only thing they drained is the reflecting pool in the national ball.
[9:27] And that was because of some no big contract that got all screwed up.
[9:32] I, I, you know, I am old enough to remember when a president wearing a tan suit was a major national controversy.
[9:44] They were very upset. And I know I look good in that suit.
[9:56] I know that's right. I know it was tight.
[10:04] Um, um, you know, but I did.
[10:23] Now here, here's, here's the difficult reality.
[10:31] We got two more years in this administration.
[10:36] That's how our system of government works.
[10:39] We're stuck with that.
[10:40] But you know what we're not stuck with?
[10:43] A spineless Congress and a bunch of Republican governors who are willing to enable all of the corruption and incompetence and indifference to working people.
[10:55] We're not stuck with enabling more policies that take money out of your pocket and cut your health care and drive up inflation.
[11:07] We're not stuck with that.
[11:08] This election is our last best chance at least reining him in, reining in some of the foolishness of this administration.
[11:21] It's the circuit breaker in the system and we need to flip it.
[11:26] We need to start bringing some accountability to this administration.
[11:31] And just as important, we need to start showing the American people who are hungry for real solutions.
[11:41] What real leadership looks like, what concrete plans look like to actually lower costs and make health care more affordable and housing more affordable and get utility bills under control.
[11:54] We can't just be against this administration's behavior.
[11:59] We can't just say what we're against.
[12:01] We've got to start showing them what a future on the other side of this administration can look like.
[12:07] And it starts with you.
[12:09] It starts with electing Keisha Lance Bottoms governor.
[12:13] It starts with sending John Ossoff back to the United States Senate.
[12:27] Hey, it's Rachel.
