It's Wing Wednesday in Wata, so nobody is available because he's eating wings. [00:01:00] Speaker 2: It's Wednesday's Wings in Wata of the Week. Yeah. For those folks. I've got my Polar Pop. What's up to you? What's a Polar Pop? It's like some... He's going to name some gas station that we've never heard of before. Circle K. Yeah, I've heard of that, I think. Yeah. That's right. The old diet Mountain Dew-ty. As if you couldn't make Mountain Dew any worse, now you've got artificial sweetener in it. So it's like, you know, take the sugar out, the high fructose corn syrup, leave all the other garbage. I used to drink Mountain Dew in college, like more than water. Like, you know, back then we were not even drinking water yet. Like, you know, now everybody carries... Now everybody carries a water bottle everywhere they go, like a baby bottle. But back then I would just reach over to the mini fridge next to my bed and pull out another can. Mountain Dew. [00:02:07] Speaker 3: Yep. [00:02:08] Speaker 2: It's crazy. [00:02:10] Speaker 3: All right. Brandon, how are you doing out there? Yeah, he's hitting the Japanese liquor pretty hard tonight. Yeah, this is my Polar Pop. [00:02:31] Speaker 1: I've never heard of that until, like, you measure the poor up until your fingers. I just pretend I got fat fingers and just go on. He's got four thumbs. [00:02:41] Speaker 2: Yeah. All right. Well, here we are, Wins and Whiffs. We're going to share with you some new collectibles that have come into our possessions. Maybe our personal collections, maybe they're coming up on Rogue Five toys. We always try to mix it up. Let's not spin the wheel that frees Shane's computer today. But let's bring you the first win of the week. [00:03:17] Speaker 3: My Phoebe Bridger's impression. [00:03:19] Speaker 2: I would like to know exactly who she is, but I don't know if she was in a band at one point. I just don't know. But when Howard Stern used to mention her and talk about her, it was like he was a fan. Like, she was a big deal to him. [00:03:39] Speaker 3: Oh, okay. [00:03:39] Speaker 2: He would always talk about how great she was. All right. John's got Phoebe Bridgers down the street from him. Yeah. Popping up with a pop-up show. The streets are crowded. Yeah. Yeah. All right. All right. Well, let's jump in. The wheel. We got to figure out something with the wheel. The wheel freezes my computer up. We're not going to use that. Yeah. [00:04:05] Speaker 1: I want to use any wheels from like a board game. [00:04:07] Speaker 2: And then, yes, we, I have life downstairs that came with a wheel. There you go. I don't think we have twister. I know that has a wheel. I'll look into it. We'll do some research. All right. We're going to go with Brandon as our first wind of the week. [00:04:27] Speaker 1: So my one of the week came from the, a, uh, flea market find. Um, this guy had, I think he might've cleaned out a locker full of, uh, collectibles, some high end, some low end. Um, this was in a box of wrestling magazines. Um, like, like mud wrestling or jello wrestling or like a WWE wrestling magazines just, uh, once from a few years ago, and it was, uh, thrown on the top and I could not help myself to pick this up, but it is the alien isolation, uh, dark horse, Sega copy comic book. Nice. Um, I picked this up and, uh, I didn't think anything of it, shoved it in the box with a bunch of other stuff that I bought from this guy and, um, did some research on it later, a few days later, and these go for about $150 wrestling magazines in pretty nice shape actually. Wow. [00:05:40] Speaker 3: Um, so yeah, you did not give $150 for that. [00:05:43] Speaker 1: I didn't pay $150 for, I bought a ton of stuff from them. And I didn't spend anywhere near $150. Wow. There you go. Wow. This is, this is a keeper because I've never seen this comic before. And apparently it's pretty rare to be a hundred percent. That's crazy. That's not 150, like not graded. Yeah. Wow. That's insane. It must've been, maybe it was like a shorter run. It's a video game. So you see the little Sega logo here. It's a video game that came out for the PS4. And I think the Xbox, not sure. Oh, wait a minute. [00:06:15] Speaker 2: Oh, alien isolation. I, I think I mentioned this in an episode, maybe as long as like a year ago to you guys, um, to you and, you know, for you and Chris, I don't know that you guys play video games. I really don't anymore. Like I, I haven't been a video game guy, you know, in about 10 years since my, you know, since my daughter was born, but now my son, um, you know, he got a hand me down PS4. Um, I had picked up some games thinking I'd get back into it, but he's got sports games now and stuff. And he's got battle to battle fronts. He is so into it. So he challenges me at NBA, you know, this alien game is supposed to be amazing. I don't have it, but I found out about it and it's very immersive. [00:07:00] Speaker 1: I haven't. I played it a few times and, um, it is, you know, the hair on the back of your neck starts standing up. Yeah. I heard it's like, it's kind of like resident evil, like back in the day. Like it's, uh, it's really good. It's very well done, uh, for the PS4. I hope that they, you know, maybe plus it up a little bit for like the PS5 or, or beyond maybe make a different version or whatever, but then a stromo edition or whatever. Very, very good video game. Very, very good series that they put out there. And apparently they had a comic book, which I didn't even know until I saw it on top of the stack there. I looked it up and I was blown away and I was like, Whoa, I did a little research and turned out that it's pretty rare comic book. [00:07:41] Speaker 2: So, yeah, you know, I, I want to play that game and it, it sounds, I read a little review about it. It sounded so good. And then I kind of lost track of it, but I think it's been out for like a good six years now. Like it's not longer than that. Maybe, maybe six to 10 years. Like you can get it pretty cheap at this point. [00:08:01] Speaker 1: So like, I got it used pretty cheap and I popped in the PS4 and I couldn't put it down. Yeah. I got to play that. I haven't beat it yet, but I mean, I played it and then, you know, like you said, kids, everything gets busy and don't have time to play. So, well, you know what? [00:08:17] Speaker 2: Like the Madden MLB, the show NBA 2k 26. We have, uh, those games are great. Cause my son is so into the sports right now. He's what he's loves the Knicks. He loves the Yankees. He, you know, he's playing for, so he'll challenge me and that's like a short little session for us. Right. But I do need something like that alien game, like back in the day with grand theft and call of duty to like sit down by myself at night and play like a, you know, a one hour sesh and then like, you know, save it and come back the next day. I need one of those. [00:08:49] Speaker 3: All right. Did you ever get that, uh, dream cast you found in your yard? [00:08:53] Speaker 2: Oh my God. I, you know, it's funny that you say that. I think, I think I'm, I'm pretty, pretty positive. I trashed it. I mean, it was disgusting, but it's funny that you say that I saw a, a real online today of somebody with a dream cast and they were like doing the whole storm trooper dip. Like, like it was like, you know, yellowish Brown, they were like brightening it up and like trying to revitalize it. And I didn't watch the whole thing, but I was like, oh my God, you're like, you, this is what you're spending your time with. But it made me think of that. I'm like, do I still have that thing upstairs? No, it had weeds growing out of it. Anyway, John, you are up with your win of the week. Next, you know, there's a little, uh, thing here. [00:10:39] Speaker 2: Oh, he's comic book. Yeah. He's got a whole pursuit. [00:10:43] Speaker 3: No, it's from, uh, the movie with Shaquille O'Neal. [00:10:47] Speaker 2: It's a member, member Shazam with, uh, Sinbad. That's what he's talking about. [00:10:53] Speaker 3: Yeah. It got a whopping 4% on Robert Rotten Tomatoes. I started to say Robert Tomatoes. I don't know who that is. Robert Tomatoes is our guest next week, John. Yeah, but, uh, this is another steel is the vapor trail steel. So there were all kinds. Look at all these different figures they had. Holy mackerel. Jeez, man. What year is that? Uh, this is 96. [00:11:19] Speaker 1: Oh, I was about to say, I was like, I don't know that now. I was like, I've never seen 97. [00:11:23] Speaker 2: Well, we were talking last week, Brandon, about how prolific toys were for movie tie-ins in the nineties. Yeah. I mean, if that movie came out now, there wouldn't be a sniff of a, an action figure, let alone the, the 10 that he's got on the back of that car. [00:11:40] Speaker 3: Yeah. Well, I think we, you know, we should probably talk about those some, at some point, like the proliferation of action figures. And also another idea is, uh, is toy nostalgia coming back? The generation just behind us, like in between the millennials and us. Yeah. There was a lot of TV shows and movies and stuff that had toy tie-ins and people are getting nostalgic for it again. [00:12:08] Speaker 2: Well, it's funny that you say that. Cause here's another thing I saw just today was, uh, that the, you know, the, uh, generation certainly, you know, one or two levels below me and Brandon, um, uh, they, there, there's a big, uh, push of magic, the gathering again, and there's a big push of, there were some other game, I guess it's, you know, Pokemon, you know, it's not a recent big push. That's been a big push now for like over 10 years, but, uh, magic, the gathering is having kind of a, a, a renaissance now. Cause all these people, you know, were like kids or preteens or whatever, when these started coming out and now some of those lines, those things are becoming more collectible and picking up. Now, I mean, I'm sure people have been collecting magic, the gathering, there's going to be somebody watching this video going, what are you talking about? It's always been collectible, but I was reading an article that, uh, you know, kind of in the vein of, of, of, you know, like the prequels for star Wars, you know, those, those little kids remember getting those toys and now that's why we see some of those, you know, 90s star Wars toys picking up even more now or, or late nineties, early two thousands, I should say. Yeah. Yeah. So I, that is a question about, that is a question. There was a lot of toys that came out for the kids who were born in the 85 late eighties, early half of the nineties, you know, they're, they're all, uh, you know, going into their mid thirties now and, uh, you know, pushing for it. Yeah. So there's a lot of toys that we didn't care about, but there were still a lot of toys being made by toy companies. So that's a good question. Yeah. Yeah. All right. I think that came down, I think, but there's a lot of stuff in there. I, I, by the way, I don't know if you guys realize I whittled the shop down a lot. There were so many variations of stuff. I, I got rid of a lot of stuff. Have we sold anything recently? I think a few things. Yeah. But, you know, I, I got rid of a, like a lot of the women's stuff. Like there still is women's stuff, but yeah, it's like, you know, you've got, I mean, there's actually, there's still a decent amount here, but that's something John would wear. Yeah. There you go. I don't know if that's something that's like. I was at a toy show recently in here in Jersey and, uh, a guy had a few vintage items, uh, mostly modern, you know, crap, we call it, you know, mostly power of the force kind of stuff. But he had a couple of, I mean, this is in really nice shape, I think. [00:17:12] Speaker 1: Oh yeah. You know, there's stickers are beautiful. It's probably return of the Jedi version where, uh, they, uh, Oh, I'm sure the kids didn't play with it that hard. [00:17:23] Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. I'm sure. And I mean, to be clear, like all the toys that I had when I was a kid, I don't have any recollection, but I'm sure there was a good amount of empire figures like, you know, on, on, you know, clearance or whatever. But then when I went and saw the movie, I mean, the, the Falcon that I got was absolutely a Jedi box. Um, you know, a lot of the stuff that I had was all Jedi stuff. I mean, maybe even most of it was maybe stuff was out before the movie and that's what my mom started buying. I'm sure I had some empire figures, but you know, in 81, I was three years old. So it's not like she was out shopping for that stuff back then. So whatever was on clearance maybe, but, um, yeah, the innards are, uh, innards are in good shape stickers. [00:18:10] Speaker 3: How's the battery compartment? [00:18:12] Speaker 2: I think I checked it at the show and it was pretty clean. Let me, let me see if I can get this off without ripping everything apart. Up the wings already off. There you go. This is tough to get off. Well, Harry trigger there.
