‘The Five’: Trump NOT AFRAID of a potential third impeachment attempt

[0:04] Look, when the two women won the governorships of New Jersey and Virginia last November, [0:08] I'm on Donnie here in New York. [0:09] I texted the president. [0:10] I said, we prosper when you're in the Oval. [0:13] We suffer when you're not on the ballot. [0:14] I absolutely believe that because that's his coalition. [0:17] He's the one who expanded it. [0:18] More Hispanics, more African-Americans, more young people, more women, more union households, [0:23] more Jewish households, more Catholic households, more independents, you name it. [0:27] But it's special for him. [0:28] And I think so many of these candidates, Jesse, believe that the Trump touch and his endorsement [0:34] is transferable. [0:35] He's got the connective tissue. [0:37] They don't show up at rallies like this thousands at a time, tens of thousands at a time with [0:43] the thousand or so rallies he's had. [0:45] This is very special to him, but he will do what he has to do. [0:47] He's going to spend the money. [0:49] He does endorse you. [0:50] He sends out a nice true social post about you. [0:52] Maybe he'll even come to your district or your state. [0:54] He does these Tallentown Hall rallies, which help juice up turnout. [0:59] There's no question the left is energized and enthusiastic this time, not because of any [1:04] great magic agenda, but because they are the party out of power. [1:07] But I love, love, as the person who was there for the two impeachments, I love, love hearing [1:12] him almost dare them to impeach him again. [1:15] These are the jerks who promised America, did everything they could to put him in the big [1:21] house, God forbid, and never again have him in the White House. [1:24] And where is he? [1:24] Where's his day job? [1:25] Where's his home, everybody? [1:27] He's back there. [1:28] So, and I love the fact that his AG is about to be Todd Blanche, one of his personal attorneys [1:34] who knows how to withstand that kind of slop and that kind of muck. [1:38] But he's also calling them out by saying, you're going to waste a country's time. [1:43] There's so much for us to do. [1:44] Jeffries, I'm even willing, Hakeem, I'm even willing to do it with you. [1:47] If you'll play ball, that probably hurt Hakeem Jeffries. [1:50] His opponents will raise money off of it. [1:52] But the president is almost tempting and taunting them. [1:55] But he's also telling them, stop wasting America's time when there's so much more to do. [1:59] Is that why he keeps teasing the third term? [2:02] You don't know why? [2:03] Because people are saying. [2:04] Because you guys go crazy. [2:05] Yeah, I said you guys. [2:06] Who's you guys? [2:07] Just play with you. [2:08] Harold, the impeachment. [2:11] Will Hakeem be able to hold off the dogs and not impeach? [2:16] I don't know. [2:17] I hope so. [2:17] I was not for the first impeachment. [2:19] I was for the second impeachment of the president after January 6th. [2:22] But I think Democrats can't, they're not going to win a race, win races in the fall by saying [2:26] we're going to impeach President Trump. [2:28] President Trump won in 2016. [2:30] And I would build on the points that Kellyanne made in the first go-round about, you said [2:36] that the DSA decided to take the Democratic Party. [2:39] I would argue that President Trump, in a different way, decided to take the Republican Party and [2:43] make it his. [2:43] And he did successfully. [2:44] I think, I take a little issue of what the president said about how he says they're angry [2:49] at the Republicans, but not me. [2:51] Either he's not the head of the Republican Party, or he is the head, but he is completely [2:55] detached from them. [2:56] I think what people are mad at, Jesse, and again, I hope the president doesn't take this [2:59] the wrong way, but he gave people two promises. [3:01] I think he beat Kamala Harris for two primary reasons. [3:04] First, she was not a great candidate, but his message was, I'm going to lower inflation [3:09] and lower prices, and I'm going to get us out of this war. [3:11] He said he would end the Ukraine war on day one, and that we would not find ourselves in [3:15] wars. [3:16] I think the American people took him at his word. [3:19] Here we are now, prices have not gone back down. [3:22] The president has not lowered inflation and prices. [3:25] We still got a tough, tough jobs number today. [3:27] Three, he's building ballrooms and helipads and starting businesses. [3:30] And I think people see that. [3:32] And I think to his point, if I were him, I'd be trying to deflect also. [3:36] But I think it's a hard argument to make to the American people that I know you're mad [3:40] at the Republicans, but you're not mad at me. [3:42] Because if prices were lower and we were not in these wars, I think the Republican numbers [3:46] would be high. [3:47] And frankly, so would his. [3:48] His numbers are pretty low. [3:49] He did run on sealing the border, and he did that, Greg. [3:52] I give him credit on it. [3:53] One of the main reasons he was elected. [3:54] I give you credit for that. [3:55] Well, I also have to say, Harold's got a point about the wars and stuff, but you have [4:00] to look at the context of what you're up against, which is the Democrats. [4:05] So what are they doing at the convention? [4:07] Aren't they having, they're having a Republican convention. [4:10] Good term, yeah. [4:10] Yeah, which is like, have they ever done that before? [4:13] So this is. [4:14] Democrats have. [4:15] But the Republicans haven't, Harold. [4:17] Control yourself, young man. [4:18] My goodness. [4:19] Getting excited. [4:20] Anyway, but they're doing, I think I read that they're doing a socialism. [4:24] Telethon. [4:25] Telethon. [4:26] So this to you, what you were talking about in the eight block, this could be the first [4:30] time that millions of young Americans get an actual scoop on the history of an ideology [4:35] that killed tens of millions of people. [4:37] And so if, so the Republicans should not be half-assed on this, do what the Dems did [4:43] on January 6th, get producers, directors, just blow your mind with this, you know, focus [4:48] on documented outcomes. [4:50] If you're going to talk about it, like show the mass death, the chronic shortages, the repressed [4:56] innovation, the gaps between the utopian promise and the grim reality. [5:01] Soviet Union, China, Cambodia, Cuba, North Korea. [5:04] Canada. [5:05] Who could forget Canada? [5:07] Vermont. [5:09] And then, but you can, I mean, think about it. [5:11] This is not stuff that you have to like talk about. [5:13] You could show with archival footage, survivor testimony, economic data, interviews with historians, [5:19] empty shelves in Venezuela, killing fields, the great leap forward, the gulags. [5:26] So, but, but the key here, you have to contrast this with the utopian propaganda. [5:31] You have to show that gap between promise and reality, because right now we're going through [5:37] the promise. [5:38] We're going through the young people are buying the words and we have to show how similar the [5:45] words you're hearing today to the propaganda was before. [5:49] And it always begins with that one thing, an attack on private property. [5:53] That's where it starts. [5:55] And we're seeing it in New York City. [5:57] The only way you can achieve material equality in a world of individuals is confiscation of [6:03] private property. [6:04] And that can only be done through coercion and a denial of human nature because there's always [6:09] a variation in talent and preference and effort. [6:12] You have the midterm convention. [6:27] I mean, I was thinking while Greg was talking about the appeal of some of these, the promise, [6:33] he called it. [6:35] That same Reuters poll that on Monday found that President Trump had a 32% approval rating also [6:41] found that for the first time in like a decade, let me get this straight. [6:46] For the first time in a decade, voters perceive the Democratic Party as having a better plan [6:50] for the economy than the Republican Party. [6:53] That really surprised me. [6:55] So I've been thinking about why that is. [6:57] And I think it's in the face of, you know, first the Biden administration, now the Trump [7:04] administration not really being able to lower prices to the degree that American families [7:09] are comfortable with. [7:10] A lot of people, young people especially, are thinking, okay, well, we might as well [7:16] try and get as much free stuff as we possibly can. [7:18] Maybe that's, you know, the better of two bad alternatives right now. [7:22] Yep, free stuff, usually the outcome. [7:26] Gulags. [7:27] Something that will help Republicans, something that helps Republicans, Democrats. [7:30] I would say it's going to be hard for independents and even moderate Democrats like me to be [7:35] enthusiastic for a Democrat who cannot say that Hassan Piker is wrong in talking about 9-11. [7:41] I hate to give Republicans an angle here, but if we can't agree that America was in the right [7:48] on 9-11, you shouldn't be in politics. [7:50] Yeah, amen. [7:51] Okay.
