party except [0:26] for the whole israel thing it's a big tent party there's also the issue of israel we should not [0:31] be um aiding and abetting a genocide and occupation all sorts of republicans adds to say this is what [0:36] you're going to get if you vote for the democrats a communist for far too long this reactive uh [0:41] conversation of what we should be afraid of has prevented us from being able to have a politics [0:47] of hope and a politics of life that democrats can actually identify with now the establishment [0:53] finds themselves going through the stages of grief first comes denial and anger one house [0:59] lawmaker telling cnn quote are we going to let them take over the party are we going to stand up and [1:04] fight back and carville and others crashing out lady i ain't the same party as you everybody's always [1:13] said no no we're coalition we're big tent and there's some there's just some that i can't be in the same [1:19] camp with this is not a dems will be dems uh situation donald trump is the president of the united [1:24] states of america right now are you kidding me our focus is going to be on ending this national [1:29] nightmare in this country we have a great unified party and we're going to stop trump but finally [1:36] there's acceptance if you can't beat the commies join them perhaps it's time for change i think the [1:43] democratic socialists of america is a force to be reckoned with at this point we are a big tent party [1:50] that's who we are and they're not afraid of the term democratic socialism i'm not scared of the term [1:55] there was so much um fear around that when i was elected and none of it bore out to be true [2:03] so dana can you be a big tent party if once you let the commies inside the tent camp and then you have [2:26] hakeem jeffries and chuck schumer like no it's no big deal there's nothing to see here kind of ignore [2:29] it and then you have people like cory booker or chris murphy saying actually we need to embrace them [2:34] and we need to do this well they tried that if you think about the first three years of the biden [2:38] administration what did ron clay and the chief of staff continue to do with biden i'm not saying i don't [2:43] know if biden was wanting to go as far left as they did but they kept going to the progressive left [2:48] anything the squad wanted they did think about nancy pelosi how she got completely pushed back when [2:54] she wanted to do a resolution against the anti-semitic comments from ilhan omar like no you can't do that [3:00] but i think what's interesting about aoc is that she didn't endorse in these races she's from new york [3:06] she has a higher office aspirations and i think what she was wanting to show with the gesture of not [3:13] endorsing is i'm not as crazy as they are that's hard to be uh greg you've seen a lot of reaction [3:24] what do you think the best reaction is well the the saddest reaction is that well in that montage we [3:31] heard democrats more worried about the politics than the reality you know they're worried what will [3:36] republicans do with this instead of what could happen to america if this spreads that's that's the [3:45] thing you should be thinking about since you've let it happen we normies are burdened with this radical [3:51] phenomenon like every 10 15 years usually we have to wait it out until some of the younger people [3:58] grow out of it when they see that their beliefs are tethered to failure that there's no measure of [4:02] achievement or improvement associated with socialism but as one socialist grows out of it immediately [4:10] another one grows into it straight from the campus to congress it it sucks the left owns the soft power [4:16] which is the media the schools and the arts so it's like it's like doritos you know we we crush them [4:23] they make more of them and and it's because they just romance radicalism and it's always going to be [4:29] there so how do you respond to this do you scream it's the end of america like they do when they talk [4:36] about trump the end of democracy i think it makes them seem more interesting and powerful and [4:42] dangerous than they really are look at hassan piker he'd still be a nobody if we treated him that way [4:49] the problem is it only takes a few elites to create a revolution there were like 20 000 plus [4:53] bolsheviks that ushered in communism and killed millions of people in in russia later the soviet [5:00] union but having said that it is really chilling how emboldened they are they're not hiding this [5:08] behind helping the poor they're just saying we want power these are wolves in wolves clothing and it's [5:16] it's you know you want to be careful not to amplify it but you also don't want to discount it because [5:22] that's what the dems did the dems saw them as just other democrats they thought it was nonsense and it [5:29] wouldn't get anywhere they'll fall into line just like bernie did but they're not they did we can't [5:34] discount it because we're the makers we're not the takers if you lose us the whole thing goes to hell [5:40] lastly what's really frustrating about socialism is that whenever it comes up you feel compelled to have [5:46] to explain it the horror horrific outcomes to the young people the way it kills human progress and [5:52] initiative but i keep thinking to myself who am i explaining it to like it's almost like we're [5:57] trying to export democracy to a third world hellhole like somalia but it's not it's the united states [6:04] it's here i'm trying to convince people that are here and it's not third world it's white elite [6:10] intelligence the seven percent who has history has shown they will call you fascist but then when [6:16] they get into power oh man are they bloodthirsty because the whole point of this it's not to get [6:21] power to help the country they say they hate the country it's power to overturn the country and [6:29] punish the people they hate they haven't thought ahead of what to do next if you want evidence of that [6:34] look at all the bloody revolutions so the seven percent jessica the young college educated they [6:40] call them downwardly mobile because they got these expensive degrees and they don't have real jobs [6:47] why would they vote for a candidate that wants to abolish police and prisons that could hurt them [6:53] well two things one it isn't just the young white educated it's also older and very wealthy too [7:03] because they won all the brownstone blocks in uh cobble hill and brooklyn heights i mean like [7:09] seven to ten million dollar houses so this is a bigger phenomenon than you're making it out to [7:15] be by just saying that it's you is something that is happening more broadly than that but it is still part of the [7:33] intelligentsia because if you look at someone like richie torres who also had challenges from the [7:38] left multiple he's the strongest supporter of israel out there not mamby pamby about it right he's [7:44] critical of bb netanyahu which basically everybody is no matter how you vote um and he won by enormous [7:50] margins and but his district the poorer side of it black lower class in the bronx and then the higher [8:00] class or the higher earning faction was the modern orthodox right who are supportive of the fact that [8:05] you're talking about how important it is to have a good relationship with israel it has a right to [8:09] exist etc um i to dana's point about aoc not endorsing yes she's being smart about it also [8:16] you're not supposed to endorse against sitting incumbents which is what happened in two of these [8:21] races and i thought it was important also that when bernie congratulated the winners he left that [8:25] dari eliza off the list he said congratulations claire valdez and brad lander and brad lander who [8:32] he's not some guy we don't know about right he's the comptroller here he's already talking about [8:37] getting hakeem jeffries the gavel and how he wants to work with everyone so there are denominations [8:43] of dsa in here or of left wing that are important to acknowledge in terms of what's going to happen [8:49] electorally what aoc said matters about you know they were really scared when we came in nothing [8:54] happened because i remember the 2018 election primaries elan omar aoc comes out of it and we [9:00] think okay you're going to become the boogeyman that's what happened conservative media only solely [9:05] focused on them saying you know we're going socialist etc and then democrats flipped 43 seats [9:10] including that huge camo wave that brought in alissa slotkin uh abigail spandberger mikey [9:16] sherrill etc yeah you say oh but she's not a socialist right she's not part of the dsa so no it's if you [9:23] want i mean you have a low bar i get it i don't have a low bar if you're comparing someone who [9:27] says we shouldn't have prison to like a cia agent then it's a completely unfair comparison [9:34] trans ladies in sports what come on i do see nothing happened something happened in college what did you do 14 years in college how did you pay your [10:49] bills 14 years 14 years yeah and she wasn't and she wasn't victim enough by being a female and a [10:55] person of color so she converts to islam that was just so she could hit the grievance industry trifecta [11:00] that's all that was in my opinion furthermore what else has she done no borders hates the u.s [11:05] talk of these disparate opinions [11:34] but also they produce nothing in congress name a significant piece of legislation that the squad [11:42] which we're now up to about eight has ever managed to push through they are the crazy kids in the [11:47] corner that the democrats have to hide that they got to worry about now all right i'm running out of [11:52] time but i want to make a point about behar here behar talks about hey this is democratic socialism when [11:57] i have an injury that the ambulance shows up that the fire department shows up first of all joy noted you [12:03] didn't say police we know why you didn't say that you don't have to go any further right the subtext [12:07] came through loud and clear secondly having a fire department and an ambulance service that's [12:12] democratic socialism i think there's a lot of red cities and states around the country that would be [12:17] very surprised to hear that they're dsa because they got firemen and women all right it's most idiotic [12:22] analogy i've ever heard in my life the downside of all of this because i do think it quarantines the [12:28] crazies on the democratic side is the fact and greg you touched it is that it seems to be growing and [12:34] so while you want to quarantine and isolate a cancer if it grows it kills the host and if it gets into [12:41] double figures and they start promulgating legislation that actually goes through we're in big trouble and [12:47] we're not in europe trouble we're in czechoslovakia in the 1950s trouble that's what can't be allowed [12:53] understand the stakes that's how bad it can get the one thing though is aoc did damage outside of [12:59] congress with amazon so there are consequences also she's going to damage schumer if she wants that [13:06] seat because this demonstrates it's hers also she damaged the women who were being victimized in new [13:10] york city and she never said a word about it yeah that's true and she brought home that
