[0:02] oh hey sunny bunch i think we're live i think we're live um hello everyone uh it's thursday [0:10] night it is 8 54 on the east coast and we are awaiting uh what i think is going to be [0:19] uh a mass national gaslighting event um and as is often the case with the bulwark we thought [0:29] it's best to do these things together if we have to do them at all i am joined tonight by sunny bunch [0:36] who has tapped in for the night shift here and to suffer through this with me and you and everyone [0:43] um so sunny um the what i want to start with to do a little table setting is that right now basically [0:51] the information we have about the speech that is about to be given uh is trump is going to talk [0:57] about the 2020 election there are a lot of rumors circulating about what he's going to say [1:03] i have seen both that this is we know it's going to be some kind of re-litigating of the 2020 election [1:10] but is it china that's one thing i've heard um we've also seen people sort of floating that this [1:16] will be the night that he announces uh that maduro is here to tell us uh that yes the 2020 election [1:22] was interfered with um but i think it's it's safe to say i guess we could get surprised but it's safe [1:28] to say uh that tonight he's he's planning to introduce evidence uh of some kind that the 2020 [1:36] election was stolen specifically in georgia is that your understanding that's my understanding i you know [1:41] there's been a there's been a lot of uh hearsay and conjecture i think tommy tuberville was on tv [1:46] earlier today saying maybe maybe four or five seats uh should not have been seated maybe four [1:52] or five seats have been stolen i assume by democrats i i can't imagine we would be having this conversation [1:58] if if the you know if the the chinese or uh iranians or venezuelans the venezuela theory is my [2:05] favorite because like that's just that's that's the most left left uh field theory that i can imagine [2:10] i imagine we're also not going to get a lot of talk about russia in 2016. i mean like like all of [2:17] this the big question is like what is the scope and the scale here right like i don't think any [2:20] serious person rejects for instance that in 2016 uh russia hacked the dnc email put it on the wikileaks [2:30] and then you know that that ended up influencing the election in a real way but nobody i think would [2:35] argue that russia hacked the machines and no serious person i'm sure there's somebody out there who would [2:40] but nobody would say russia hacked the machines the question the question for this 2020 thing is what [2:45] what are they going to say i you know if if donald trump comes out there and says china hacked the [2:50] machines and ossoff and warnock are not senators and they they don't get to be like what even happens [2:58] what even happens then i don't i assume nothing because he doesn't have that well no i mean obviously [3:03] warnock and ossoff will be put into handcuffs and they will be uh marched off of their senate [3:09] seats um and uh and and donald trump will get offered a third term no nothing's gonna happen [3:18] this is and and and i think this is as a table setting matter just to say where we are there is [3:25] both the backward-looking portion of this which is it is very important to donald trump and his fraggle [3:33] fraggle his fragile puny ego that he casts doubt on the idea that he lost the 2020 election time is a [3:43] flat circle we have been through this now for years we are in the middle of a hot war that he started [3:49] and blundered into we have high gas prices as a result of it he's done nothing to lower prices [3:56] we obviously have a tariff situation um we have uh todd blanch and what the doj is doing like there's [4:02] a lot of real things that the president united states could be focused on but it appears that [4:07] the things that he is focused on have nothing to do with the american people elected him to do [4:10] in 2024 uh insane as that was of all of you uh and so like the backward-looking part is about [4:19] sort of trump himself the forward-looking part though and this is the part that makes it important [4:25] to cover this because look cbs nbc abc they're not covering it um and good for them cnn's not [4:33] covering it the only broadcast channel i think that is covering it live uh is fox news um but [4:40] i think for people and so i i get that i think i think it is it is not there it is totally justified [4:46] and i think we'd probably be criticizing them if they were carrying it live to say why why let everybody [4:52] sort of let donald trump pump these lies into the american ecosystem still on the other hand and [4:59] i think the reason we're gonna sit down and watch it and absorb it is it's gonna tell us a lot about [5:04] how he's approaching the 2026 election um because this is about casting doubt on the results in the [5:11] future um it is about i think laying a predicate potentially uh for declaring an emergency a state of [5:18] emergency going into the election so that donald trump can have ice on the streets like i just [5:24] wouldn't put anything past him i try very hard to be the non-alarmist bulwark member while at the same [5:32] time not being naive to the fact that i think it is pretty clear trump's gonna do whatever he can [5:38] to try to influence uh the 2026 election um what do you think yeah sam sam stein our colleague sam [5:45] so i talked to uh aaron banco bank banko uh earlier today uh uh in about what the uh actual outcome of [5:54] this could be in terms of like well you have these election commissions what do they do what can they [5:58] do what can they take the machines can they decommission the voting machines can they you know [6:03] force paper ballots you know whatever there's there's a whole series of things that they could do [6:07] um assuming of course that the courts don't stop them and this is and here again this is the other [6:12] thing right like whatever trump announces today if he announces an executive order it will immediately [6:18] be appealed and the courts will stop it and then we'll have six months of fights over that um that [6:22] will stretch that will bleed into probably right up to the election maybe beyond it i don't know um the [6:30] the but as you say the the real goal here is to cast doubt on the legitimacy of the election which [6:38] as all of the intelligence agencies have reported and as bipartisan senate you know papers have have [6:45] you know shouted from the rooftops this has been the goal of every influence operation by the iranians [6:51] by the chinese um by the enemies of america is to make the american people feel like their democracy [6:57] is illegitimate that is that is the entirety of their goal the the russians are sitting there thinking [7:02] you think you have good elections america you don't maybe you should not have them [7:07] think about that what do you think about that uh and i i this is this is has always struck me as the [7:13] most corrosive thing about donald trump the you know this of course plays into january 6th and all that [7:20] and the the riots to try and over the like the the the end of the peaceful transfer of power and all that [7:25] stuff that bad enough but to continue doing it to continue doing it for years and years and years to [7:30] look back now six years later and say i couldn't possibly have lost this election i couldn't [7:36] possibly have cost us these two seats in georgia with my nonsense after the fact demanding you know [7:44] uh recounts and saying that it wasn't legitimate and blah blah like i just it that's the thing that [7:49] drives me craziest about donald trump and as you said sarah a lot of people who either voted for donald trump [7:55] this time around or who sorry sonny i don't have him we got him but all right he's going thanks for [8:01] being punctual 88 murders many of whom killed more than one person we had friends gender for everybody [8:11] men in women's sports playing the heads ravaging ourselves and the whole world was laughing at us [8:18] as a nation but not anymore two years ago disagree our country was dead now we are the hottest country [8:27] anywhere in the world america is respected like we have never been respected before we have disagree [8:36] being invested in the united states than at any time in the history of our country [8:41] more americans are working today than ever before this week it was announced that inflation saw [8:48] the largest monthly decline in more than six years just happened it's just given that's because [8:56] it had gone up and we accepted the best in six years the tax cuts in our great big beautiful bill [9:05] are saving hard-working families thousands and thousands of dollars like with the provisions [9:13] no tax on tips no tax on overtime and no tax on social security for our great seniors [9:20] along with the how long do you think it's going to take him to get to elections to purchase a car [9:25] what if he just doesn't what if it's just this made in america and a 100 percent expensing for our [9:31] job creating businesses our stock markets are at their highest point in many years but we can actually say [9:42] of all time and your 401ks pensions and retirement accounts are setting records every single day the [9:50] highest in history for years we paid the highest price for prescription drugs anywhere in the world [9:57] now we pay the lowest price under my most favored nation's policy because i was able to get the rest of [10:04] the world and the pharmaceutical companies to act responsibly drug prices are coming down by 70 80 [10:14] and 90 percent trump rx.gov this will ultimately reduce the cost of health care you have to go to [10:23] trump rx.gov and take advantage of it it's like a pair of health care is coming way down because of what [10:31] we've done with prescription drugs and with trump accounts every child in america now has access to [10:37] a tax-free investment account to save for their future billions and billions of dollars are being [10:44] invested put in by companies and individuals to take care of our children so that at age 18 they will [10:51] have potentially hundreds of thousands of dollars in their account and they'll get off to a great start [10:58] congrats trump you invented savings accounts okay go to trumpaccounts.gov and sign up your child or [11:05] any child you'd like to sign up just i i don't understand why the broadcast networks don't want to [11:10] run this [11:10] i've heard this speech verbatim a lot of times to the united states in the past 14 months that is [11:23] zero nobody thought it was possible we had the worst border in the history of our country and now we have [11:30] the best crime is plummeting nationwide we're just shooting people in the streets at its lowest level [11:36] since 1900 or more than 125 years ago we're making a record investment in our armed forces and we have [11:46] the strongest and most powerful military by far anywhere in the world i built it during my first term [11:54] and unfortunately we're forced to use it now we won in venezuela which is now working with us to produce [12:02] millions and millions of barrels of oil we are likewise winning are we getting venezuela in oil i'm pretty [12:08] sure we're not fruits of that labor very very short track of that america is back and doing really well [12:16] but we still have a major challenge that must be urgently addressed here we go because no country could be [12:22] great without fair and honest elections you have to trust your country because if there can be no trust [12:31] there can be no greatness and that's very simple no trust no greatness for many years i've called for [12:39] bold swift and decisive action to protect the integrity of america's elections did he turn into a robot [12:50] that vote will be counted accurately in a system and that is to make that system secure one where [12:57] cheating and interference are not just difficult but virtually impossible chris unfortunately this [13:04] we have to listen to him like this falls catastrophically this is amazing oh i liked robot [13:11] donald trump thanks intelligence revealing shocking vulnerabilities in our election infrastructure [13:20] this evidence shows that the election system we have dangerously exposes and really exposes [13:28] like levels never thought possible to hacking exploitation and foreign interference hey herbert is [13:37] this is our feet or his i think it's the reuters for many years covered up and hidden from you it's [13:44] the pain unfortunately people are beautiful our great american people meaning it sounds like this [13:49] everywhere changes right now the documents we will release starting tonight have been gathered by the [13:55] white house government transparency task force a great group of people along with the staff of the [14:03] president's intelligence advisory board somebody in the thing said it's fine on ap top intelligence agency [14:09] chiefs who have all personally reviewed the findings we are presenting this evening and fully confirmed [14:17] their authenticity you can see these documents for yourself at whitehouse.gov that's whitehouse.gov go check it out [14:28] our purpose in disclosing this information is not to weaken confidence in elections but to earn that [14:36] confidence by confronting vulnerabilities and correcting them very very quickly and that's what we're doing [14:43] the documents cover five major areas of concern first they show that over a period of years starting [14:51] during the 2020 election cycle the people's republic of china carried out what is believed to be the [14:58] largest compromise of election data in history resulting in china's illicit acquisition of 220 million u.s [15:09] voter files that information includes names addresses phone numbers political party preferences and other [15:17] sensitive chris are you getting us a different feed mild preference for the bad feed just so i can hear what [15:29] he's saying yeah exactly what was happening there we go data loss presents an unprecedented elections thanks chris [15:39] the intelligence even shows that china has signed a data exploitation unit specifically [15:45] to this new project compounding the travesty the second set of documents we are releasing reveals that members of [15:54] the deep state very very famous group of people many cases in our intelligence agency work to actively suppress [16:03] and downplay information about the extent of china's sinister election meddling covering it up from both the [16:11] president and the american people like nobody thought was possible u.s spy agencies began learning about the [16:18] the compromise of voter registration files in 2020 when they discovered that tens of millions of voter data [16:26] think of that tens of millions of voters data in 18 states have been bought stolen or hacked by china [16:37] yet those responsible for sounding the alarm instead kept the information secret and hidden they did not disclose [16:45] to me as president or to anyone else and to the best of our knowledge they did not inform congress in fact [16:53] all they kept saying is this is the most secure election in the history of our country a standard very pat [17:01] line that was divvied out to say the cover-up of this colossal security breach is even more disturbing in [17:09] light of the additional information showing that china engaged in other election-related [17:15] activities to undermine my first administration in our 2020 campaign they did not not want and they [17:23] just didn't want it they fought like hell not to have it donald trump to win and for good reason [17:31] as the documents we are releasing show cia reporting explicitly stated and i quote in mid 2018 the chinese [17:41] communist communist party's policy was to leverage all domestic and foreign elements that were opposed [17:47] to the u.s president in an effort to reduce the u.s president's votes and make him resign or prevent his [17:54] re-election isn't that nice also in mid 2018 china was working to influence the results of the u.s midterm [18:03] elections and later the results of the 2020 presidential election itself separately in mid 2019 the chinese [18:12] government's strategy against the united states was focused on undermining domestic confidence in the [18:18] u.s president they wanted to just make you sound like your president wasn't so hot when actually your [18:25] president is done a great job i was great everything possible it was great in 2019 that going on this [18:33] document says and this is by the cia the strategy included efforts to use chinese contacts with big u.s [18:42] companies to influence u.s business leaders to turn against the president of the united states of america [18:49] the chinese government sought to identify u.s journalists who had reported negatively on the u.s [18:56] president and pay them large sums of money to write more negative articles about him as many [19:03] as they could and they didn't care what they said the chinese government wanted u.s president to lose [19:10] the next election and the reason they wanted me to lose is because they knew i was wise to them charged [19:18] them billions and billions of dollars worth of tariffs and built the strongest military anywhere in [19:24] the world we have the strongest military anywhere in the world these are exact quotes from the cia [19:32] reporting the name of the person doing the quote is now under review but it gets even worse raw [19:41] intelligence obtained by the fbi in 2020 yet buried by rogue bureaucrats stated that china's activities [19:48] even included an attempt to manufacture illegal ballots for joe biden documents show that during [19:57] this period dozens of significant cia and nsa reports about china's election targeting were kept out of the [20:05] presidential briefing these were briefings i would get almost every day everything was kept out that was [20:13] of importance one email among intelligence analysts admitted that they had quote deliberately massaged [20:21] the presidential daily briefing to withhold information regarding chinese activities related [20:27] to the election another official inside the fbi wrote that she was running quote a shadow government [20:35] unquote to keep intelligence about china's election meddling from becoming known [20:41] and to keep it away from the honorable press other officials who witnessed such efforts perceived the [20:48] motivations to be blatantly political recently we found significant numbers of burn bags in formation and [20:57] this is a group of bags that were used to destroy information given by president barack hussein obama to be [21:08] burned it was supposed to be burned these bags were supposed to be at a different level by different [21:16] people incinerated and checked but it never happened maybe we got lucky we believe this was not done on [21:25] purpose but rather through gross incompetence of the people that was supposed to burn the bag but the [21:31] findings are stunning today i'm asking the office of the director of national intelligence the department of [21:38] justice the fbi and the cia to investigate how and why such crucial information was hidden to fire [21:45] those involved in the cover-up and to file criminal charges if appropriate against these people yet [21:52] concealing china's meddling was only the beginning the third set of documents we are releasing proves that [21:59] for many years americans were blatantly lied to about the security of our election infrastructure [22:07] including electronic voting machines and ballot counting systems dishonest almost all they're [22:15] vulnerable and they're easily compromised and people within our government knew that tonight we're [22:22] publishing a series of previously classified u.s intelligence community assessments and other reports [22:29] proving that our government has long known these machines are extremely exposed to attack as one [22:36] assessment states we judge that the united states adversaries including at a minimum russia china iran north [22:45] korea as well as non-state groups have the capability to compromise u.s election infrastructure [22:53] that's unquote but that's some statement isn't it made by supposedly great patriots of our country [23:00] supposedly document goes on to further state that quote we assess that centralized election related data [23:08] repositories such as voter registration databases of course poll books and other official election websites [23:17] are most vulnerable to exploitation and adversaries could use this access to these systems to disrupt [23:24] election processes within the united states of america tonight we're releasing all of those findings and [23:31] spanning from january 2020 to june 2026 this is a cyber threat aimed at the very heart of our democracy [23:42] many people have questioned whether it could actually be possible to electronically manipulate vote [23:48] vote totals or change election results on these terrible machines today we are releasing documents [23:55] that show the cia obtained reporting of a specific plot to do a big number in favor of the corrupt maduro [24:06] regime in venezuela and that's exactly what happened conspiring to digitally rig their own country's [24:14] elections in 2020 and that's what they did this reporting included precise details about methods to [24:22] regime develop to digitally alter vote totals in ways that could not be detected even with an audit no [24:31] matter how deep they went this intelligence underscores why we must take urgent action to ensure that [24:38] our own system can never ever be hacked or compromised like it was in the past [24:44] the fourth set of documents reveals that even when significant evidence of fraud has been detected it has [24:51] been buried and covered up among the disclosures tonight are fbi files detailing evidence of alleged [25:00] fraud by a large-scale voter registration operation in michigan in 2020 michigan state police raided a [25:08] democrat get out the vote organization corrupt group in muskegon and we're so concerned by what they found [25:18] they were just so concerned they couldn't believe it actually that they contacted the fbi in detroit the [25:25] documents state that some canvassers admitted to fbi agents that they signed voter registration forms and [25:31] other people's names submitted fraudulent registration for people who did not exist [25:37] and received gift cards tied to their number of applications that they produced in other words [25:45] it was pay play and cheap the fbi agents working on the case believe that crimes were committed yet the [25:55] biden department of justice slow walked the investigation and killed it tonight i'm asking [26:01] the fbi director to ensure that the matter is fully investigated and to work with the department of [26:08] justice to prosecute those responsible for any crimes finally to reveal just how vulnerable elections [26:15] continue to be we are releasing the results of a stunning investigation by the department of homeland [26:22] security according to the dhs review state voter rolls and public records they identified approximately 278 [26:32] 000 non-citizens who are registered to vote in federal elections since democrat states reviews 278 000 files [26:42] the real number is actually much higher than that the real number is much higher even this limited analysis [26:48] found more than a quarter of a million foreigners illegally registered to vote put together these [26:56] disclosures reveal an election system so broken and so vulnerable that no one can possibly defend it [27:03] it is not defensible hundreds of millions of u.s voter files are in the hands of foreign governments [27:11] our machines and ballot counting systems are exposed to hacking and manipulation and corruption [27:18] china and other countries have been trying to meddle in our elections evidence of fraud has been buried [27:25] hundreds of thousands of non-citizens and dead people are listed and active on the there's not a [27:31] single real thing in here and yet we still have elections with no voter id no proof of citizenship [27:39] and tens of millions of ballots floating aimlessly through the mail as one example of the insanity [27:45] california's recent election for mayor of la and governor oh it was held on june 2nd a long time [27:53] ago oh california sure completed a few days ago on july 10th think of that much more than one month so [28:00] many so many days a month to count the votes i wonder what they were doing they should this is counting the [28:06] votes that's what they were doing third world country there's no third world country that has [28:10] elections like we have in a rare move nbc and abc fake news have both said that they would not cover [28:18] this speech they knew what it was about because of the fact that they don't like the topic because [28:23] they know how corrupt our system is and they don't want to reveal it they and others in the media are [28:29] part of a plot they want to continue this fraud for whatever reason they want to keep it going they [28:36] want to protect the radical left they can't have a great country and that's true you can't have a [28:42] great country without free and fair elections fraud like this should mean a revocation of their licenses [28:50] they use our public multi-billion dollar in value airways for absolutely networks all we want is [28:59] honesty in our elections and honesty and reporting they pay nothing for multi-billion dollar assets [29:08] sure great damage has been done to our country our elections were left vulnerable to being rigged and [29:15] stolen and the trust of the american people was lost this cannot be allowed to continue every american [29:22] whether you're a republican democrat independent or otherwise should be able to agree that we deserve [29:29] the most secure honest and fair election system anywhere in the world yeah we have your election [29:35] should be a partisan really should just we should be should be apart together oh we should be together [29:42] republicans independence everybody why can't we all just it should not be a partisan issue it should cause [29:48] to unite us not to divide us this should be a cause we should be united not divided in light of the [29:55] brand new and irrefutable information i have revealed tonight my administration is in the process of [30:03] notifying the states whose election data was compromised by the people's republic of china and [30:10] many others we will be working closely to mitigate any harm and we're taking swift action to ensure that [30:18] sensitive voter data is better protected so we can never be bought we can never be hacked [30:24] and we can never watch a stolen election again tomorrow the secretary of homeland security will hold a [30:33] briefing to outline his department's recent work confirming cyber vulnerabilities in our electronic [30:41] voting systems they are bad we're in the process of informing governors senators and members of congress of [30:48] potential issues in their states if you look at voting today it's in such bad shape in so many states [30:56] and we are committing to fix it and we're also committing to be working with those states and local [31:03] jurisdictions to help them fix and patch known technical vulnerabilities before the midterm elections we [31:10] have very important elections coming up we want those elections to be honest [31:15] i've also ordered dhs to notify every state about non-citizens on their voter rolls and direct them to [31:22] remove all ineligible voters from the lists immediately but most importantly addressing this crisis of election [31:31] security demands that congress must pass the safe america act how easy is that to do unless you want to [31:42] cheat the only reason you wouldn't do it is you want to cheat because your policies are so bad and your [31:50] candidates are so pathetic that you can't get away or can't get elected any other way this landmark bill [31:57] requires that all voters must show photo voter id how simple is that could i have your photo please [32:06] photo voter id all voters must provide proof of citizenship are you a citizen of our country please [32:16] and hopefully there will be no corrupt mail-in ballots which have you watched california and so [32:21] many other places mail-in ballots are inherently corrupt so you would have no mail-in ballots except for [32:32] illness disability military deployment or travel if you're going away on business or vacation [32:41] these reforms are urgently needed to stop the vulnerabilities that i've mentioned to all americans [32:47] i ask you to pick up your phone tomorrow call your representatives in the house and senate and demand [32:54] that they pass the save america act without delay together we will restore faith and [33:02] confidence in our country and okay i am tempted to make a bunch of jokes right now because that was so preposterous [33:27] but before i laugh about anything and we can go back through some of it and and talk about [33:33] um some of the more ridiculous allegations but that was very transparently donald trump [33:40] bringing zero evidence forward unless somebody else can show me something in that speech that he did [33:47] something other than just say fbi cia china uh venezuela a bunch of words is there anything in there [33:54] that amounted to actual evidence like that was actually even i thought he was gonna at least i don't [34:00] know have something that amounted to no like a fake allegation there was nothing in there no no i i i i [34:07] am i am very curious to see what this uh voter data is supposed to be i like it sounds to me like it's just [34:17] voter rolls like the the the the maybe china hacked the voter rolls and knows who is registered to vote in [34:27] states i feel like that's a thing that we can get anyway like when i i don't know i maybe all right [34:35] so maybe maybe they got 220 million uh secret files and whatever there's no there was no accusation even [34:42] that there was uh i don't know what there would be an accusation of trying to trying to run uh the [34:49] biggest one was paying journalists china was paying journalists to write nasty stories about donald trump [34:55] i don't know if donald trump knows this but like the journalists are paid by news outlets to write [35:00] nasty things about donald trump i like it's it's the whole thing is insane um i and it's it's again [35:08] there's no accusation here that vote totals were changed he said the the security of these systems [35:14] is not great but uh no i don't understand all right so so here's uh my favorite person uh to follow [35:23] on elections is stephen richard he was the maricopa county supervisor uh so he was he was in arizona [35:30] um during the the 2020 election he was a republican uh still a republican i know stephen personally [35:36] um but he he's overseen these these elections he tweeted a couple things that are really important [35:41] um so one is we use audible auditable we can audit we use auditable paper ballots in this country [35:52] so even if he hacked the machines which of course there is no evidence of i'm not reading this [35:57] straight um he says even if tabulation machines are vulnerable a predicate i don't accept and even if [36:03] connected to the internet which isn't true right then any manipulation would still be revealed in [36:08] post-election hand counts i just want to remind people that in 2020 2020 was the most scrutinized [36:16] election we've ever had because of donald trump remember the cyber ninjas remember the bamboo fibers [36:23] right they recounted in every single one of these states so we know that there was no fraud like he [36:28] was alleging but that's not even what he's alleging he's alleging that there was and and this is the [36:33] other thing that is public information the voter rolls right is public information so like if they hacked [36:43] it uh well hold on so so in most states the public record includes your full name your date of birth [36:50] your address your political party and if you participated in past elections if somebody were [36:54] to unlawfully download this material it would still be on it would be unlawful but it wouldn't compromise [37:01] the election in any way right so there's there was nothing in there that even is something we have to [37:09] talk about from in terms of looking backwards this was all about trying to say uh it was first of all [37:17] it was nothing but a nihilistic um depraved attempt to delegitimize american elections in total [37:27] um but certainly in 2026 like it is what we thought it was going to be an effort to delegitimize [37:32] it but just by saying he's saying our system is unsafe he's literally he's literally doing what the [37:37] iranians and the chinese want him to do which is make people make some people doubt the legitimacy [37:42] of the united states elections uh by just rattling off nonsense i mean going to be is him calling for [39:57] the broadcast networks again to lose their broadcast licenses because they didn't run this speech i mean [40:02] it's like the one thing he might have some count their ballots but when he was like what do you think they're [43:05] doing then and i'm like counting their ballots too slowly like that's what they're doing um the idea [43:11] that there's of weeks talking about uh you know graham plattner and uh who has now dropped out the democrats made [43:31] him drop out and uh and he was a person of poor character republicans have been all over recounting multiple times in every swing [44:09] state of paper ballots he is now trying to say our elections aren't secure going into 2026 to try to [44:16] undermine them right now it is so obvious what he was doing and if republicans aren't going to stand up [44:22] and say something about this that was a in a normal world in any sane world in the country that we're [44:27] supposed to know donald trump would right now be republicans would be talking about the 25th amendment [44:35] they would be talking about impeachment they would say this is the irresponsibility of trotting out like [44:43] weird cia things about things that china didn't accomplish um as to try to lay a predicate for our [44:53] elections being not secure this is the most irresponsible thing a president could do sitting [45:09] members of congress sitting senators uh tomorrow on the republican side um but i but like they're gonna [45:15] they're actively gonna go out there and try and back them up i was like users mailing addresses so you can't get [46:47] their ballots two the same source also believed china built secret under underground military bases [46:54] in the united states to spread covid so naturally the fbi thought he was insane and didn't take him [47:00] seriously like the president united states just went out and made a speech and was quoting some lunatic [47:06] uh that they dismissed because he was saying crazy things um i don't know if you know this sarah but [47:13] the underground covet bases are actually how coven got started so i you know you're denying it and [47:18] that's the real problem i know it's like i remember that story by will and i remember thinking like wait [47:23] tick tock driver's license what what is it what are they talking about because republicans are going to confirm todd blanche these republicans confirmed cash patel [49:26] the fact that they are not going to pass his save act is an indication of just how batshit crazy it's sense that i i thought [49:46] that there was going to be some like deeply insane uh like we're we are turning off the electronic [49:53] ballots everything will just be it's just gonna be you got to safety of the elections is this a thing that comes [55:10] up at all in the focus groups have do do people say like i worry about the integrity of our elections [55:15] and china hacking the machines etc democrats worry about the integrity of the elections um now i will [55:22] say uh you do get illegals voting from republicans quite a bit like that is now that is a a um that is [55:29] in the the would if it but they're not [56:08] talking about it preemptively i think that if democrats take the house you would hear a lot of [56:13] groups trump voter groups suggesting that democrats did something to cheat because they would be [56:19] listening to trump here's the thing that i'll say about that speech though for those of us who are sick [56:25] in the head and felt the need to watch that um not just sick in the head but really care about our [56:30] democracy and wanted to see what he was going to telegraph in terms of what he was going to do [56:34] average americans were not watching that they didn't preempt any any uh i'm glad i now and now [56:40] that i've seen what he did i'm very glad the networks didn't carry that um because i don't think [56:46] that anybody's gonna walk away from that saying i mean there will be like right-wing insane twitter [56:53] that will pick it up because they have a million bots to do it and elon will will parrot it so it will do it [56:58] but that speech isn't gonna like change things at all no no no i there's because because there's [57:05] nothing in it again there's there's no there is no smoking gun clip that somebody could pull out and [57:10] say see donald trump said they hacked the machines and they changed the vote totals and this is why [57:16] we have to like there is just nothing there's nothing there i like again i i i'm flabbergasted he [57:25] went out there and did that and you know again our colleague sam stein was talking to uh an election [57:30] reporter and and she said that her her reporting showed that his people didn't want him to give [57:35] this speech tonight they didn't they did not want him out there talking about this they knew that there [57:40] was nothing there and that it was just going to make passage of anything harder and i can't imagine [57:44] that this does what what does this get him what does this get him aside from a massaging his own ego [57:52] out there so he can go out there and say they were mean to me in 2019 and they were wrong i was great [57:57] i like literally that was that was you noticed that was the most excited he got in the whole speech [58:02] that that bit where he was he was like no they said i was bad i'm not bad i'm great i'm great and [58:07] that is that it's amazing um so we do have a couple um uh there i do have a couple so sam said one of the [58:15] documents that trump has disclosed tonight has a section noting that china targeted the biden campaign [58:20] yeah and does not currently intend to covertly interfere to try and sway the outcome of the [58:26] election uh and then will's got the paying journalist part which is the u.s government [58:34] wanted u.s president to lose the next election like this is all just gibberish the doc this is [58:40] from katherine rampel uh this doc says russia tried to undermine biden china preferred someone other than [58:46] trump but quote unquote beijing did not intend to try to affect the election he's just he's also [58:52] just like lying about the china stuff yeah i i the the chinese the report the there has been there [59:00] have been reports about chinese influences in the election and they repeatedly say that beijing has [59:05] no preference either way like they they they the the the short-term uh problems that trump was causing [59:13] for them with tariffs and the such would be outweighed by long-term problems that biden would be able to [59:18] you know create a massive you know for international coalition to oppose chinese behaviors which [59:26] donald trump not great at creating massive international coalitions to oppose anything um so [59:31] you know like they they're just they had no they had no horse in in the race they had no they had no [59:36] boxer in the fight like i i and this is what all the reports say this is what the reports he's [59:41] he's highlighting say i don't understand and i don't understand okay guys we're coming up on the 60 [59:47] minute mark um i think we've established a number of things tonight uh one there was nothing remotely [59:55] noteworthy in that speech besides the fact that donald trump is a deranged person who is trying to [1:00:00] undermine uh america's confidence in our own elections um we should be incredibly vigilant as we look for [1:00:10] what actions he might take to actively interfere with the elections because this part is a narrative [1:00:16] trick uh it's a psychological trick to sort of lay the predicate for the idea that our our elections [1:00:21] are unsafe in some way um i assume that there will be attempts uh i hope there will be robust efforts [1:00:27] by people who are legitimately in the world of elections to um try to push back on those things and [1:00:36] uh assure the american public that um that our elections are in fact safe uh i do think um somebody [1:00:44] texted me and i think this is this is right that there's also the part where they are very worried [1:00:50] about republican turnout the fact that republicans are um not very happy with how things are going in [1:00:57] the country and so they're worried about depressed turnout for republicans and so they are they are [1:01:02] trying to do a like too big too big to rig situation right where they they're trying to say [1:01:08] like look democrats are going to rig it if you don't turn out um but didn't this backfire on them [1:01:12] in georgia like remember yes i mean this is this is the this whole bank shot idea we got we got it [1:01:18] they're going to rig it so you got to come out and vote it doesn't make any sense they've already [1:01:22] tried this and it didn't work it did well they didn't really try it they he just went out and said [1:01:26] it was rigged and people were like well i'm not going to go out and vote in the the runoff then i don't [1:01:30] care about that uh you know i that they've done this before and it failed i
