Press Rushed Out Trump Loses It

[0:00] When you're asked a question and you don't answer it, it's probably for one of three reasons. [0:05] The first is that you can't. You don't know how. You don't have the answer. The second is because [0:11] you won't. Maybe you don't want to. You're afraid. The third is because you don't need to. Why would [0:18] you? And we saw all three of those different variations of not answering a question play out [0:24] today. Dr. Fauci did not need to answer questions of Senate Republicans because they were throwing [0:30] a stunt. It was a circus. It was nonsense. But when Donald Trump was asked real questions about a war [0:37] he started that he's continuing and he doesn't know how to end, he didn't not answer the questions [0:43] because the reporters weren't within their rights to ask them. It is because Donald Trump is the [0:48] stupidest fucking person in our entire government. He has no idea what's going on. And so those [0:55] reporters were rushed out, kept away from Trump because his brain is broken and he showed us. [1:01] We are going to get into it all. But I want to start with one thing Donald Trump would answer [1:06] questions on. And that was his arc. In particular, this is just one of several projects that you have [1:12] underway in the DMV. Why would you say that you're so focused on transforming the Washington region right [1:17] now? Well, this is an important one. This is travel. So in terms of the importance, I think the arc is [1:23] going to be incredible. I think the protected ballroom and military center that we're building at the [1:28] White House is going to be unbelievable. It's very important. But, you know, this is the airport. This [1:34] is sort of the lifeblood of a city or a capital, certainly a capital. And this will go from one of the [1:40] worst, just like Washington. Washington was one of the worst places in this country and now it's one of the [1:45] best. You couldn't get into a restaurant because all the restaurants were closing or closed. They [1:51] were afraid to have it open. Now you can't, if you're a restaurateur, you can't even find space to [1:55] have a restaurant. The restaurants are booming. So, you know, it's a great thrill. And by the way, [2:02] if you look, Washington is clean. It's safe. It is infuriating to watch the president of the United [2:09] States give so little of a shit. He actually doesn't care at all about the crisis of affordability [2:17] that he has created. Well, all the time he talks about new projects that will cost us money and look [2:22] like shit. Donald Trump is Trumpifying Washington, D.C. right now. And I use that word very specifically [2:28] because aesthetics matter and he wants things to look bad. He wants them to look like him, which is [2:34] looking bad. And that is what Donald Trump is trying to do with our country right now, to build [2:39] it fully in his image because that's what he wants to do. And that's what he will do because he's a [2:46] little baby who always wants his way. He's also a giant hypocrite, which is why he said this about [2:52] Dr. Fauci taking the fifth. We're talking about new towers and all new air traffic control, which will [3:00] give us the safest anywhere in the world. [3:05] Why do you think Dr. Fauci invoked the fifth amendment so many times today when he has the pardon and why [3:12] I think what's so what was stopping him from just giving an office testimony this morning? [3:16] Well, look, I've never been a big fan of Fauci. Why he did that was very simple. His lawyer told him to, you know, [3:22] I don't know if he would have been better off not doing it. There were a lot of questions that I guess he could have [3:27] answered. And some maybe he didn't feel comfortable in answering, but his lawyer told him to do that. [3:34] Donald Trump has taken the fifth amendment countless times in instances in which Donald Trump wasn't [3:42] trying to protect himself from someone trying to get him to commit perjury because of course that is [3:48] what Republicans were trying to do today. Other than, of course, the fact that they were trying to get their [3:53] moment in the sun on Fox, they were trying to create a situation in which Dr. Fauci might accidentally [3:59] perjure himself. Donald Trump is though taken the fifth amendment so many times because what he's [4:04] saying, what he would have said would have been admissions of his crimes. Now, of course, you have [4:09] a right to do that as an American, but we know why Donald Trump did when he has taken the fifth [4:14] amendment. And we know why Dr. Fauci did today. Now, like I said, Donald Trump was really struggling [4:20] today as he is always every day, which is why we're going to see reporters rushed out. [4:24] But it is partly because not just of the Fauci answer, but this one on Iran. [4:30] On the war, do you want the house to come back before August 31st to act on the Russia and Iran [4:35] sanctions bill? Well, if it's necessary, I mean, it shouldn't be necessary to be honest, [4:39] but if it's necessary, I'd like to, are you talking about the Lindsey Graham? Yeah. [4:43] So I'd like them to add Iran as tariffs, not just the sanctions. I think it's important. [4:50] That's what Lindsey wanted because I heard that they have tariffs on Russia, but not on [4:55] those five countries with having to do with Iran. I'd like to see tariffs on Iran. It would make it [5:01] much stronger. So perhaps you're very good at this. You can maybe tell them, I think they should put in [5:06] for Russia, but I think they should put in for Iran. And that's- So obviously Donald Trump is saying [5:11] nothing here. It's just glibbity gloop. And, um, this is not a real answer to a question. [5:16] We're going to hit them big and we're going to strike them big is not, is not an answer. [5:20] I would also just like to point out for the dumbest man who has ever said the word tariff [5:26] that we don't trade with Iran. What are we buying? Are they making cars? Are they making toys? Are they [5:33] making appliances? Tariffs? Does Donald Trump think that like tariffs and sanctions are the same thing? [5:41] He just says words at this point and he thinks, well, that'll do it. That'll really solve the whole [5:45] problem because he's a big dummy, which is why they just couldn't have this press gaggle any longer [5:51] and everyone was rushed out. It is sad [6:55] that there is an attack on the press that is continuously happening. And it seems that nobody [7:01] cares or nobody cares in the mainstream press. They allow Donald Trump to continuously beat up on [7:08] Caitlin Collins. Tell her to smile when she's asking about his sex crimes or the sex crimes that he's [7:13] covering up. Call her ugly names. Make weird posts about her. Attack her on national TV constantly. [7:21] And what do we see every single time? Reporters sitting there silently, quietly, unwilling to defend [7:28] their colleague. Just going along. Just going along with Donald Trump's attacks. And you give him power [7:35] when you do that. We know that Donald Trump is not a strong person. If you need any evidence of that, [7:40] watch him walk up the stairs or walk down the stairs or not be able to stand. Watch him shuffle around on [7:47] the golf course or watch his failed war on Iran. Does any of that instill confidence that Donald Trump [7:53] is strong, that Donald Trump has power? No. But you give him power when you do nothing. When you're rushed out [8:00] of the Oval Office without actually asking real questions, demanding real answers, you are giving [8:07] Donald Trump power over the media. And we've seen Donald Trump gain a lot of power over the media. [8:13] Elon, he owns Twitter. Zuck, WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram. Bezos, The Post. And of course, Larry Ellison, [8:24] increasingly everything. CBS, TikTok, CNN soon. And we're expecting the mainstream press to do its job. [8:33] No, of course not. Why would they? There's literally no incentive, which means they're not going to do [8:39] their job unless we ask them to. But I have to say again, this is an extremely weak individual and a stupid [8:47] one as well. And Lawrence O'Donnell made that point very clear when describing how Donald Trump's war is [8:53] currently playing out. And he's absolutely right. When Donald Trump began his war, his time estimate [8:59] for winning his war was first measured in days, then in weeks, then in days again, then in weeks again. [9:07] And now it has been months. It has been five full months. The Iranian regime never gave a time [9:14] estimate for how long they expected to fight for their survival. That Iran's resistance to Donald Trump's [9:22] bombs and to Donald Trump's attempts at negotiations has been strong enough to make everything Donald [9:28] Trump has said about his war a lie. Everything. And that means everything Donald Trump currently says [9:36] about his war is ignorable. In the second month of Donald Trump's war, he promised to commit a war crime [9:42] when he wrote on April 7th at 8.06 AM, quote, a whole civilization will die tonight, never to be [9:48] brought back again. Donald Trump promised to murder 93 million people in Iran. And it was condemned [9:56] around the world as a war crime in and of itself because threats of terrorism like that are war crimes. [10:06] That statement, that war crime statement carried a shock with it. Even among the people who didn't [10:13] believe Donald Trump would do it, it was sickening enough that he would say it. And then 10 hours and [10:21] 26 minutes after saying a whole civilization will die tonight, Donald Trump said, quote, [10:28] I agree to suspend the bombing and attack of Iran for a period of two weeks. And from that moment forward, [10:34] the world knew that the clownish man who started this war did not know how to wage this war and did not [10:42] know how to negotiate an end to this war. And so when he threatened to commit war crimes against Iran, [10:49] again, this morning, no one in Iran or anywhere else in the world had any reason to believe him. [11:01] I could take out most of their bridges in less than an hour, less than an hour. But, you know, [11:06] it takes him 10 years to build a bridge. Bridges take the longest and power plants, [11:11] I could knock out the power plants. Within one day, all of their power plants would be gone. [11:17] And I let them know that, you know, with negotiations. They said, look, people want me to do that. [11:22] I think I get almost the same thing out of it as doing it. But the problem is they'll never be able [11:27] to, you know, I think about 91 million people without power, without bridges, where they have to live. [11:33] And it's a very, very delicate balance. So I think we have a very strong position right now. [11:39] They know I'm going to do that. If they don't make a deal, the bridges are going to be gone. [11:43] Literally in less than a, I would say in two hours, most of the bridges, the major bridges. [11:48] I have said it before, and I think it kind of fits. It fits in concert with the point, [11:55] with the correct assessment that Lawrence O'Donnell is making. Donald Trump is the biggest idiot [12:01] negotiator, the worst negotiator we've ever had in government. Donald Trump is a bad diplomat. [12:07] Donald Trump doesn't want to be a good diplomat because Donald Trump doesn't want to think a few [12:12] steps ahead. He doesn't want to plan. He doesn't want to focus. He doesn't want to work hard. He [12:17] just wants to say tariff or sanction or bomb them or in the civilization, nuclear option, make threats [12:24] because Donald Trump sees that as the easiest option. But do you know what the easiest option [12:29] usually is? It's not the best one. No, it's not. But if you can sell it to a whole bunch of idiots, [12:35] then it really seems like it is. And that's what Donald Trump does every day. He sluices out the [12:40] idiot porridge to all of his stupid followers and they eat it up because they are just as dumb as [12:45] Donald Trump. And it's why they think he's smart. They're telling on themselves. Anyone who thinks [12:51] that this guy is a master manipulator, you are telling on yourself. It's a huge admission. And I'm [12:57] going to make fun of you for it because he can't answer basic questions. He can't articulate basic [13:03] policy. He doesn't know how to end this war. And we're all dealing with it.
