we're better off not making a [1:59] deal at all trump had said iran had agreed to all of his demands that they'd work with the u.s to remove [2:03] their enriched uranium that energy prices would fall none of that has happened and what we know about [2:09] what's in iran's proposal according to iranian state media is that u.s forces will withdraw sanctions to be [2:16] lifted the naval blockade ended but no mention of a key u.s demand around limits on what's left of iran's [2:23] nuclear program the economic impact to americans now worsening gas prices now surging to an average [2:29] of four dollars 43 cents a gallon nationwide a four-year high americans forced to make trade-offs [2:35] new polling says 44 percent have cut back on driving 42 percent have trimmed other household expenses [2:41] including groceries the trump administration saying the pain at the pump is temporary but the war in iran [2:47] was necessary once the straight opens you'll see prices come down come down immediately and again [2:53] you have to look at the president to say what does the leader do what does the president do when he sees [2:59] a potential nuclear iran he's not going to tolerate it overnight a mass shooting in edmond oklahoma at a [3:06] lakeside party authorities say at least 12 people were injured when gunfire broke out at a lakeside [3:11] party north of oklahoma city witnesses claim the shooting started following a fight among young people [3:16] there's no word on the condition of the wounded police say the injured count could climb because [3:21] several people were driven to hospitals and personal vehicles so we're investigating we do not have [3:27] anyone in custody there's no reason to believe there's a threat to the public former new york [3:30] mayor rudy giuliani has been hospitalized a spokesman saying giuliani is in critical but stable condition [3:36] there were no further details giuliani was held as america's mayor after the 9 11 attacks [3:42] the 81 year old later served as president trump's personal attorney before he was disbarred and plagued [3:47] by financial and legal problems for attempting to overturn the 2020 election trump praising [3:52] giuliani in a post calling him quote a true warrior and the best mayor in the history of new york [3:57] city a critical search is underway for two american service members missing in morocco lama hassan [4:03] has the details an urgent and massive search and rescue operation by ground air and sea is underway [4:10] in southwestern morocco the u.s and morocco deploying drones helicopters and naval vessels as well as [4:16] mobilizing mountaineers and divers scaring the waters off the coast to try to find them the service [4:22] members who are in the army were reported missing on saturday they were taking part in an annual [4:27] multinational military exercise called the african lion exercises involving some 5 000 troops and personnel [4:34] from 40 countries officials saying while the incident remains under investigation their focus [4:41] right now is on those service members and their families federal aviation authorities and united [4:47] airlines are investigating a jarring incident at newark airport just outside new york city united says [4:52] a landing tire and the underside of the plane collided with the pole and tractor trailer on the new [4:57] jersey turnpike just before the plane landed the bakery truck's video system captured the impact the truck [5:03] driver suffered cuts from shattered glass but is okay the plane landed safely and only sustained minor [5:09] damage none of the 221 passengers and 10 crew on board were injured this aircraft was literally inches [5:17] from disaster the ntsb will look at various things but one of the things they'll look at is the crew [5:21] performance but really what they're going to look at is why that aircraft was not stabilized on its [5:26] approach and why somebody in that cockpit did not say go around this is dangerous united says its [5:34] maintenance team is conducting a rigorous flight safety investigation into the incident three [5:39] passengers on a cruise ship in the atlantic ocean have died in a suspected outbreak of the rare hantavirus [5:45] you might recall that's the same virus that killed actor gene hackman's wife in 2025. [5:49] the cruise departed from argentina and is now off the coast of west africa and local authorities are [5:55] now not allowing it to come into port in addition to the three deaths at least three others were sickened [6:00] one was flown to south africa for treatment the other two are still aboard the ship experts say the hantavirus [6:07] is mainly spread by contact with rodent waste the hantavirus is not typically infected person to person [6:14] and hantavirus is typically transmitted when an individual disrupts like let's say nesting material [6:21] or tries to clean up rodent feces or or urine or saliva and that they start inhaling all those particles [6:29] that's infected um with hantavirus the president of cornell university has been accused of backing [6:35] his car into a group of students part of the confrontation was caught on camera this happened [6:39] on the ivy lee campus following a public debate over the war in gaza but the school's president [6:44] claims he was the victim of harassment and intimidation olivia rubin has the details you see the moment [6:51] right there in this video given to abc by the student group they say they approached the cornell [6:57] president michael kotlikoff in the hallway to ask about free speech on campus and walked with him [7:02] to his car then they say he quote just immediately started reversing into us but kotlikoff telling a [7:09] very different story saying the group accosted him in the hallway followed him across campus and then [7:15] started quote banging on the windows blocking the car and shouting kotlikoff saying he waited until he saw [7:21] space behind the car and then was able to slowly maneuver out one student said the car bumped into [7:27] him and ran over his foot it's not clear if a formal investigation into the incident is underway [7:33] we have much more what you need to know now to take three the stories that you'll be talking about [7:48] today number three the devil wears prada 2 strutting straight to number one the sequel to the iconic 2006 film [7:55] breaking in more than 233 million dollars worldwide it's the biggest worldwide opening weekend of 2026.
