People Are Turning Their Homes Into Data Centers — Here’s Why

you know what anyways this data center went out went in a couple days ago and it's producing all of your Google results in the hundred square mile from this location so if you were to type in hey Google what's the weather like tomorrow I could modify this system to say don't worry about it it's gonna be 500 degrees you won't make it out alive that's kind of the kind of thing that this is producing so they're paying me money to have this here information's coming in and I'm able to send the information out pretty wild and uh if you want one of these in your house let me know they'll and I have to be advised that this is an AI overview but overall there are certain reports one of them is from Instagram a couple of them are from uh mean berm and all these other sites right they're saying that roughly around 150 dollars per month is what they're paying people to install data centers into their homes and then they're also saying that they're offering the companies are offering to cover all utility bills and offering equivalent value estimated around 22 000 annually absolutely insane especially when we talk about the rising uh utility bills and water bills across I mean seriously this could be a deal for some people especially in today's economy however I have my thoughts on it I'm gonna save it for a little bit later on in the video let's check this one out guys house and these units tap your unused electricity capacity to be used for AI compute and in exchange you get free electricity free internet and node share payments that can be worth up to 22 000 a headed this is very very similar to what we've seen with the uh introduction of the router where you like it's a different level right it is different innovation but you know when you start installing internet into the homes a lot of people were questioning why am i why do i have to have a box in my home just to get internet servers y'all remember that was you know a couple decades ago when you were installed but of course before that you had to dial up and you had all these other differences however the difference with that was that was optional you didn't have to have that installed you you chose to have it installed where the where is this right here you you have no choice basically they're just telling you that hey this is what we're doing you will either want to have it installed in your home or you're going to have a big data center right down the street which one do you want but ultimately i have this this is my perspective on it right i know a lot of people are going to have a difference of opinions or whatever the case is this ai these data centers these whatever you want to call it they're coming whether we like it or not that's the unfortunate part about it and by the way this should be completely legal and i think in the next coming years this is probably going to be pretty much irrelevant at this point as well as i i always and i'm waiting for a study to be done about the health bit the health uh deterioration we've already seen it happen in animals where they're not you know reproducing as much i'm curious with the radiation and all of these different things that is popping up in some of these different neighborhoods and communities i'm curious as to what the health impacts are going to be to some of these data centers and i don't understand why right as as more research is being done i continue to look up and i see all these people talking about all these different perspectives right but ultimately we don't know why they're coming but a lot of these places are pushing it forward regardless of if you show up to the town hall meetings regardless if you vote against it or not right we see it happen in georgia we saw it in the state of utah where they pretty much showed up and they told them hey you're gonna have to deal with this no matter what would you be opposed i'm i'm and this is just a genuine question would you be opposed to installing this at your home versus building a data center in your backyard i know it sounds like you know oh i don't want either right but let me know would you would you allow this to happen if that meant that they're not going to build one down the street or they're not going to build a data center or whatever on top of that they cover your [00:05:19] Speaker 4: utilities and all these other things let me know it isn't a joke they literally want to put a mini data center on everybody's home and the way that they're selling this to people is wait you'll only have to pay one flat fee about 150 a month for wi-fi and electricity now i know we all think we wouldn't be dumb enough to do that would we except except the fact that everybody's electricity cost is going up and up and up and up and up and up and up because of the data centers being put in everywhere so listen listen [00:05:59] Speaker 2: to this i i actually said something wrong in the beginning of the video they're not paying you 150 dollars your homeowners are going to pay a flat fee of 150 per month right they're going to pay a flat fee so basically what they're saying is yay we're going to install this and it sounds like you're going to get screwed either way because if your internet bill like your utility bills are going to go up anyway so they're trying to say hey since they're going up might as well install this and save money it's it's slimy don't get me wrong don't discard don't don't don't take this information that i'm telling you the wrong way it's slimy i don't agree with it at all my point is it like i think there can be some kind of middle ground to at least not give up everything it's my point and i i just i need different perspectives as i'm watching this because i think it's very important right so basically the threads start off with 22k to host something that probably eats 15k in electricity and turns your space room into a jet engine great deal guys yes i listen i 100 agree like i don't i don't like it whatsoever and i have to reiterate that for a lot of people because a lot of people think that i'm you know pro for this i support ai that's not the case right um and yes it is going to turn your room into a jet engine it's going to turn and that is the premise right if this is going to be intrusive i said if it's going to be intrusive then i'm not for it at all but do you want a dat or you want a data center that's going to drive it's like a lose-lose you know i i'm going to reiterate again it's a lose-lose i i don't know whatever right civil war said makes a great space heater for winter uh it's actually the other way around they don't pay you at all in fact you pay them 150 bucks each month they in return cover your electricity and internet bill which are usually more than 150. 22k is estimated value you get in places with high electric prices like california it's supposedly is also supposedly fanless no noise and if that's the case it's not a bad deal i'm telling you like that's and i'm gonna stand on that it's not a bad deal right and 22k value goes in the case that your electric bill skyrockets to thousands of dollars a month you know and it is cheaper it's cheaper to do it that way because ultimately if they build a data center in your backyard your electricity bill is going to go up anyways so i would rather save the environment versus doing this you know what let's pause let's pause here i i think we've gone too far off the rails here let's pause and have a serious conversation how do we get here how do we get here i'm even questioning myself at this point is how am i why am i even talking about this at this why am i even trying to reason at this point and don't get me wrong nobody has come to me and asked me about my home and install this and all this i do think in the next coming years this will be a situation but right now it hasn't happened but why are we even having this conversation a random system a random set of computers installed into your home that's going to drive up electric bill that's going to mess up whatever electric who knows the issue that you may have within your home right where there's breaker issues or electrical problems like who knows what it looks like why are we even having this conversation it's so sad man it's it's so sad and the fact that i am actually trying to uh confide not confide i am trying to adjust or you know fit in through this whole new changes across it's so sad it sucks man it is kind of scary i'll be honest with you and i gotta ground myself again to understand what life is about it's not about all this ai and technology it's not it's about people it's crazy man i just don't get it anyways it it i'm just at a loss for words but like i said if this
