Moving My 100+ Hot Toys to My New Home!

[00:00:00] Speaker 1: what's going on everybody welcome to the jedi knights watch so we are starting to move we're starting to pack up it is the beginning of april and i decided why not vlog this and do one big video so we can see it before and after once we move and again just a reminder that we are going to a farmhouse the basement is not necessarily set up for a big collection room so it's temporary doing an addition in 2027 and that's when the basement will be done but i do think i can make it work so this is the first part i am not looking forward to this in fact you could say i am dreading this part packing everything up putting it in boxes taking apart all of the cases and moving them and then setting them up and then next year doing the same thing again um but i finally started to get a little bit of motivation i got a few figures packed up this is pretty much the last time you're going to see the collection as is um so from here on out it's pretty much tear down mode that's goodwill stuff so don't worry about that there's some figures that are like in poses that i don't want to mess with like predator down there jack sparrow chewy so i think i'm going to try to lay some of the figures down put them in bubble wrap and layer them in a big box like this so i'm going to try to cheat just a little bit but we'll take some video along the way and kind of show you what the display looks like when we are all said and done all right guys so here is where we are at right now with where everything sits in the new collection room i know it doesn't look like a ton right now but i think it's going to be okay um so yeah i think d-low was saying it looks like a a room from saw or something like that let me just back out here a little bit more to you so you can see the whole thing um so this was just a utility basement so like my grandpa's got his workshop over here um you know there's a there's a bathroom but it ain't much to write home about uh it's just it's an old basement it's for storage so you know there's utilities right here uh the washer will go upstairs next year when we do an addition but let's just picture this okay i got paint we're gonna do walls in black those three boxes there are like heavy duty workout mat tiles i tried those out i just don't think it's gonna work with the cases so i think they might be they sink or like sink into the tile or maybe be too tippy so i think i'm just gonna go to menards get some carpet or just use carpet that we have upstairs that's getting replaced and put it down here and i think it'll look pretty good so we're gonna paint the walls black we'll get some carpet also these lights these shop lights are going bye-bye and we're gonna do some recess just can lights so we'll get those done in the next few weeks so that'll happen and then this heavy duty shelf i think i'm actually going to use to put art boxes um and i'll probably have to go and put more back here once we go through this but the nice thing about this is uh old gramps made this so really nice drawers and shelves um so i could put like module case you know lighting or parts in here you know we can put hot toys accessories maybe bases that i don't always use can go in here so i'll definitely have a use for that no it's not green and gold for packers it's actually green and gold for john deere so uh he's a big john deere fan so that's the update i'm gonna get to painting and then we're gonna come back and i'll show you what it looks like okay so back at the house we are working on packing things up and you can see a lot of stuff in boxes still need to get the star wars packed away and we do have a lot of the marvel stuff packed away over there i have gotten lazy i wouldn't say i've given up but um i've gotten lazy so i'm starting to just put things in boxes and i'm going to be as careful as i can transporting them probably will ride except for that box in the front seat with me like this makes me nervous but um a lot of this stuff doesn't have boxes or i really didn't want to mess up the pose so i'm like it's just going to go into boxes like this and then hopefully it makes it safely i am worried about the predator i might move that he's got a lot of stuff sticking out there so i'm trying to obviously make this as safe as possible we have bubble wrap we have blankets and all that stuff and sunny doesn't know what the hell's going on she probably thinks i'm going to be leaving her so she is not a happy camper right now but don't worry you're coming with we got the vhs packed up i still have the stuff on the wall i'm kind of leaving that up as long as i can because i'm not going to be able to put anything on the wall when i get to the place so until next year when the addition is done so i think i'm also going to grab all my shippers and they're collapsed right now so i'm probably going to tape those up put all the art boxes in the shippers just for safety measures and to take up less space so that is the update for now it is overwhelming and i can't wait till it's over all right as you can see we have the walls painted iron ore from sherwin williams big shout out to figures and phantom steve for hooking me up with that so obviously looks a lot different already and today i picked up some carpet let's do a little fish out here just so you can kind of see so yeah it's starting to come together um carpet was just remnant carpet that i picked up and it fits pretty good for the space that i need it so yeah it is coming together pretty nice pretty happy with it carpet's some pretty good good material as well and once we start filling it in i think it's going to look pretty dang cool all right guys stay tuned guys here is a sneak peek of what it looks like i've spent the last 12 hours disassembling moving packing moving some more unpacking assembling and here it is i think it looks pretty sweet with the whole wall of just cases um and then i got probably three quarters of my figures moved in obviously the room is getting a lot smaller i've got the tv mounted i'm hoping my desk will fit right there but i don't know it's going to get pretty tight because i would like to have a recliner here just to be able to watch you know football movie something like that but yeah sneak peek it's coming along pretty nice all right everybody this is going to be our last look at the basement probably sounds extra echoey because there is absolutely nothing left and it's bittersweet this was a good home for the jedi knight's watch for almost four years but all good things come to an end but good things are starting too i'm really excited for the new house what it's going to be in the future and um you know just how the display is going to keep on growing from here memories are here and lots of fun times got to meet you know hevdilo the collector over here so that was really cool obviously hung out with brick a ton and even steve you know a while too so lots of good times but i'm ready to make more memories as well this is where i got to keep all of my figures so that's completely empty now and uh hopefully the next people can make use of it as well so um yeah that's that's gonna be the last look at the room and um from here on out though you know what good things are coming in fact good things are coming right now because i'm going to show you what the new temporary room looks like [00:08:52] Speaker ?: so [00:09:10] Speaker 1: and here is the new setup here is the new office and i'm pretty dang happy with how this turned out love having everything on one wall and being able to see it all together it looks amazing now this is a lot smaller than what i've had before like i mentioned earlier in the video so it's a lot tighter we do have a recliner here and then i picked up a love sack just to have some more seating for me and the girls i didn't know it was going to be this large so it barely fit in my car barely fits in here and as you can see this is a basement so i have the washer right behind me as well as the iron curtain so actually i'm going to have my plumber move these over there i'm going to move this over there so we'll have that wall open too i'm going to put the recliner over there and then we'll move this guy back over taking a look over here we were able to get the tv in and then we have the playstation there with my whiskey barrel and my back to the future hoverboard and up top i got most of my graded vhs displayed for now a couple that i didn't really have room for so i'm glad i still love these things so much nostalgia the movies that made me want to collect toys so here they are kind of right there i think i did a pretty good job at just displaying what i could the office is still here the only thing really different is we got a widescreen monitor so no more dual monitors and i'm really liking this curved monitor so far it's a 34 inch dell and it does the trick yeah we have the og star wars the ot if you will uh one of the newer pickups is going to be that land speeder changed up the dewback changed up some poses in here as you can see so i think it's looking pretty darn good we've got that at at driver up there tried to style my chewy the best i could but it just does not stand up to the solo the solo bones one right there look at that thing gosh i love that thing it just jumped to one of my favorite pieces in the collection also got a mouse droid um so the star wars shelf is looking pretty good and then we have java's palace i do have some more 3d signs coming in as well just like the return of the jedi we got the empire strikes back so we'll be adding a little bit more of those we have 66 batman making an appearance waiting on that 68 batmobile it should arrive probably in the next couple weeks and then we got batman in the batmobile over here and then we kind of consolidated here and we have 89 plus the batman and i think this works pretty well i think it looks pretty good um really wanted my dc to be in a df just got that joker head sculpt right there that is amazing and i mean the dx8 is an amazing figure but that head sculpt puts it to shame so very nice there and then up top we are making our own dark knight trilogy so we'll have scarecrow coming in there uh bank robber joker gonna replace that cat woman marvel would love marvel to be in a df but for now we have it in the sixth series i do have three more dfs coming so they will go right here and then probably going to sell the sixth series and maybe keep the the little guys for some miscellaneous figures um but outside of that the only star wars i have that's not ot it's right there mando and grogu looking pretty cool chromed out we have a spot for beetlejuice right there so yeah it's coming together back here is where we store all of the art boxes and filming stuff so it's just kind of a little nook back here but it's kind of nice because you know we have bases in here we've got just random stuff this one we've got capes and a couple more bases and we've got any tools we need plus any module case parts so it's it's a pretty cool setup like i'm actually digging it and again it is temporary but um i i think it's fine like i i'd love it to be just a little bit bigger we got my whiskey stuff here uh forgive this area it is still a mess we still have a lot to go through but yeah outside of that it is a pretty cool little room just to hang out in we got rid of the shop lights and we got these recess lights that are dimmable so it just kind of helps the room gives it a little bit more space but you can see like this this room or these cases were made for this room we have like an inch if that of gap there so no risers these just fit but i think it's going to look really cool with the vehicles on the bottom so again next year we're adding on over this way so we're actually going to cut a door way into the block here and the new basement will be on the other side of this wall so i will have to move it again which is unfortunate but yeah there it is let me know what you guys think of the new setup let me know if you like it or not and um
