"I think it's like a record so these are accomplishments we have a lot of accomplishments and as you know this is the anniversary first anniversary January 20th and it's been an amazing period of time we have a book that I'm not going to read to you but these are the accomplishments of what we've..."

[1:02:30] I think it's like a record so these are accomplishments we have a lot of [1:02:36] accomplishments and as you know this is the anniversary first anniversary January [1:02:42] 20th and it's been an amazing period of time we have a book that I'm not going [1:02:49] to read to you but these are the accomplishments of what we've produced [1:02:53] produced all page after page after page individual things I could stand here and [1:03:04] read it for a week and we wouldn't be finished but we've done more than any [1:03:08] other administration has done by far in terms of military in terms of ending [1:03:13] wars in terms of completing wars nobody's really seen very much like it I think [1:03:19] it's appropriate that because Minnesota is so much in the in the fray and I say [1:03:25] to my people all the time and they're so busy doing other things they don't say [1:03:30] it like they should they're apprehending murderers and drug dealers and a lot of [1:03:36] bad people and these are just some of the more recent ones that we have and I [1:03:43] can show you some of the people vicious many of the murderers these are all out [1:03:52] of Minnesota just Minnesota I say why don't you talk about that more because [1:03:59] people don't know do you want to live with these people international murder [1:04:05] these are people that are living were with their apprehended and either put in [1:04:15] jails in their country from where they came and the countries respect us and so [1:04:18] they actually put them there in the old days they didn't respect our country [1:04:23] Biden wouldn't do this because he let them all in you know if you didn't have [1:04:28] open border policies of Biden none of this all the things that we all the time [1:04:32] that we spend talking about Minnesota and everything else most of them are coming [1:04:36] from out of the country and it's been caused by a previous administrator look at [1:04:45] this one after one boy these are rough characters these are real criminal illegal [1:04:55] aliens that in many cases they're murderers they're drug lords drug dealers [1:05:01] they're the mentally insane there's some of them who are brutal killers they're [1:05:06] mentally insane they're killers but they're insane these are just in [1:05:13] Minnesota and California it's worse in other states it's worse no Minnesota the [1:05:20] crime is incredible the financial crimes are incredible and the problem is [1:05:25] because of the agitators and insurrectionists whatever you were [1:05:29] troublemakers but they're they're paid agitators and insurrectionists nobody [1:05:35] talks about the fact that 19 billion dollars at a minimum is missing in [1:05:40] in Minnesota given to a large degree but by Somalians they've taken it Somalians [1:05:48] can you imagine and they don't do it a lot of very low IQ people they don't do it [1:05:55] other people work it out and they get them money and they go out and buy [1:05:59] Mercedes Benzes and they come from here they have no money they never had money [1:06:05] they never had a life they never had a government they never had a country [1:06:08] because there's basically no country with Somalia is not even a country they [1:06:12] don't have anything that that resembles a country and if it is a country it's [1:06:17] considered just about the worst in the world they come here they become rich and [1:06:21] they don't have a job I was told that Ilhan Omar is worth 30 million dollars she [1:06:26] never had a job she's a crooked congressman so here's another one and I [1:06:35] have oh by the way we just took out that's what these are all what ice is [1:06:39] doing and it's a dangerous job these are rough these are rough people weapons this one [1:06:50] here's very bad I'm going through this because I think we have plenty of time [1:06:59] I'm going to place beautiful place in Switzerland where we'll be I'm sure I'm [1:07:06] very happily awaited for in Switzerland they don't know about this they don't [1:07:14] have this problem they have other problems but they don't have this [1:07:16] problem look killed somebody and these are rough people these are not this was [1:07:25] all loud into our country through open borders these dumbest policies you know [1:07:31] men and women's sports is dumb but to me having an open border for the world to [1:07:37] come in drug dealers and prisoners Venezuela as an example opened their [1:07:43] prisons into the United States that's why one of the reasons I fell so strongly [1:07:48] against Venezuela now I'm loving Venezuela they've been working with us so well it's [1:07:55] been so nice and an unbelievably nice woman also did a very incredible thing [1:08:03] as you know a few days ago she's we're talking to her and maybe we can get her [1:08:09] involved in some way I'd love to be able to do that Maria maybe we can do that but [1:08:15] we're dealing with the people invented the president and all of the people in [1:08:19] Venezuela and we've been doing great the oil companies are getting ready to make [1:08:24] massive investments there they have more oil and even Saudi Arabia there you go [1:08:29] these are real these are rough one this is all Minnesota every one of them this is [1:08:39] one state out of many and these people are let's see yeah these are all so far [1:08:49] people that came from outside of the country they were allowed in by sleepy Joe [1:08:55] Biden crooked Joe Biden whichever you like you can call them whatever you like [1:08:58] they're both right he's sleepy and he's crooked it was the worst president we've [1:09:02] ever had and we've had some bad ones too I can tell you what you have to do is [1:09:08] look at trade you're not getting bored with this right I hope you don't but [1:09:16] these are people that you have to see strong-arm rape aggravated assault with a [1:09:24] weapon and many other crimes gang member known as one of the toughest people [1:09:40] around these are tough people so this is what the people are trying to protect [1:09:52] because all ice wants to do is get them out of our country bring them to prisons [1:09:58] and jails and mental institutions from where they came that's all they want to [1:10:01] do they're patriots and they have to be abused by guys like Don Lemon who's a you [1:10:06] know loser lightweight I saw him the way he walked in that church it was terrible I [1:10:11] have such respect for that pastor he was so calm he was so nice he was just [1:10:16] accosted what they did in that church was horrible yesterday look at 24 [1:10:22] convictions 24 times convicted did not charges these are convictions so he [1:10:31] comes from outside the country do you think he's going to be good here convicted [1:10:35] 24 times he's going to be good here right it doesn't work that way it's a man [1:10:40] murder one of many one of many all they want to do is get him out they want to take [1:10:50] him out of our country and we're met with paid agitators and insurrectionists [1:10:55] troublemakers they're paid you know when the woman was shot and I felt terribly [1:11:01] about that and I understand both sides of it but when she was shot there was [1:11:09] another woman that was screaming shame shame shame shame right you saw so loud [1:11:14] like a professional opera singer she was so loud and so professional she wasn't a [1:11:23] woman that was hurt like all my heart's injured she was a professional shame shame she's screaming [1:11:31] shame shame I said that's not a normal person that's that's a professional these are professional [1:11:38] agitators and professional people that want to see our country do badly but that's not happening [1:11:43] because we have the hottest country anywhere in the world despite this stuff look at this all top [1:11:52] of the line criminals they're not going to be good they're not going to be well behaved here [1:11:57] I could do I could do thousands we had over 3,000 in the last fairly short well just in Minnesota [1:12:06] what's the number Karen 10,000 10,000 10,000 criminals and these are serious criminals now how can a place [1:12:17] with 10,000 criminals how can you have a state and yet they're fighting us I like that guy keeps [1:12:23] nodding to me do you agree with me I guess I like him I don't know who he is but I like him he keeps [1:12:28] nodding he says you're right he's obviously a little on the right side maybe look these are rough ones so [1:12:43] this we just took this off a stack we have many stacks like this like I could go 30 times what [1:12:52] I'm showing you now relations with Hezbollah that's nice why do we allow them in our country [1:13:04] hmm I'm just looking at these charges it's just pretty incredible many murderers many many murders [1:13:20] people that murdered we've been listening to President Trump here address the nation really [1:13:28] and and the press corps there at the White House it was our understanding this was going to be a news [1:13:34] conference to talk about his first year in office and some of the accomplishments that that he has [1:13:39] made since being reelected the news conference started that if you've been following along he's [1:13:43] been holding photos of people he says are undocumented immigrants in his words illegal aliens who have [1:13:49] committed crimes in Minnesota I want to bring in our senior White House correspondent Gabe Gutierrez [1:13:54] Gabe we don't know really anything about these people we've seen some of their images but we don't [1:13:58] have their names yet we we hope at some point the White House will tell us who he's talking about but [1:14:03] this was new to everyone that was covering this news conference today well Tom look this is the [1:14:08] White House trying to make a case for the first year of this administration this is something that [1:14:13] they have said repeatedly over and over again that they used to justify their crackdown on [1:14:19] illegal immigration you see the president right there in those live pictures in the briefing room [1:14:23] just a few feet from where I'm standing referring to these undocumented immigrants who he says his [1:14:30] criminal histories certainly the president from his supporters has gotten a lot of credit over his [1:14:35] first year for reducing illegal border crossings at the southern border to the lowest in recent memories [1:14:42] recent memory a dramatic drop from the Biden administration we should point out though according [1:14:48] to recent ICE data as NBC News reported back in December those who were arrested during his during [1:14:57] ICE's crackdowns more than a third of them have no criminal histories although the administration will [1:15:04] come back and say that every undocumented immigrant who is in this country illegally they view as being a [1:15:11] criminal so certainly the president they're trying to make the case for his crackdown on illegal immigration in [1:15:17] and taking off a list of what the administration sees as accomplishments I've used 365 accomplishments [1:15:24] in 365 days but Tom this all comes as the president prepares to depart for the World Economic Forum in Davos [1:15:32] Switzerland later on today amid growing tensions really across the world certainly there's been a back and [1:15:39] forth over the last several days with world leaders several European leaders already in Davos pushing back again [1:15:47] I'm gonna I'm gonna I'm gonna I'm gonna interrupt you there back to you Tom yeah yeah the president [1:15:50] started to talk about some of those accomplishments let's listen in but I would not have shown the [1:15:55] pain I would have acted like nothing happened as my finger fell off that was a nasty I think somebody did that [1:16:02] I think some it was him it was my man how were you you didn't do it I know you didn't I know you didn't [1:16:10] I know you didn't do it I didn't do it I was a bad guy so um but here is the uh here's the book these are all [1:16:17] things we have I'm going to read a few of the samples but look at this these are all each line [1:16:22] is something that we did nobody did that before and it's big stuff too look we have the hottest country [1:16:29] in the world so I will read you a few we ended Biden stagflation we were in stagflation that's a disaster [1:16:43] that's far worse than inflation as you know he had the biggest inflation in the history of our [1:16:48] country they say 48 years pick your choice but they had the biggest inflation in the history [1:16:53] of our country we we have it right down to a normal number now we're going to get it even a [1:16:57] little bit lower created super high what we've done with with growth is incredible we created [1:17:05] super high economic growth and america is booming it's booming there are thousands of businesses [1:17:12] right now that are being built many of the biggest factories in the world are being built right in [1:17:17] our country they're not going to other countries they're leaving other countries fourth quarter [1:17:22] gdp is on track to pass perhaps much more than five percent growth and that's despite the fact [1:17:28] that we had a democrat shutdown they shut down our country and we had five percent nobody's in this [1:17:33] room has ever heard about five percent i think it could be twenty percent if we do it right if we [1:17:38] don't every time we have good numbers they raise interest rates you shouldn't in the old days if [1:17:44] you had good numbers they'd lower interest rates so they wouldn't do anything here they try and kill [1:17:48] it they always try and kill success uh over the last 20 25 years that's the way in the old days [1:17:56] if you had good numbers the market would go through the roof today if you have good numbers the market [1:17:59] goes down but by the way we've had the best stock market in history the best 401ks in history [1:18:07] and we inherited a mess the numbers that we inherited are way we're way up and now we brought them almost [1:18:14] all of them way down we brought them way down i mean i'm not getting uh maybe i have the bad public [1:18:21] relations people but we're not getting it across we inherited high numbers and we brought them way down [1:18:28] and uh look at gasoline they have places in the country now dollar 99 a gallon 199 230 250 i guess the [1:18:38] average now they're saying is 231. i mean he was at 450 and five dollars for periods of time and he went back [1:18:46] to the trump formula but he didn't do it properly and he really went back to parts of it because [1:18:54] you would have had eight dollar gasoline if they didn't but he didn't do it properly had people that [1:18:58] didn't know what they were doing core inflation for the last three months is 1.6 percent 1.6 their [1:19:07] core inflation was so high that nobody could even calculate it under biden real incomes declined [1:19:16] three thousand dollars think of the three thousand dollars that's a year in 12 months trump real [1:19:22] incomes went up by two thousand dollars and three thousand and even in some cases five thousand [1:19:28] dollars it's a tremendous difference stock market has set 52 all-time record highs during the course of [1:19:36] the actually the 11 months because this was done on 11 months now we're now we are actually officially 12 [1:19:42] months as of today 52 all-time record highs that means 401ks did great i have people see me all the [1:19:50] time policemen that guard us really well and got to know him a little bit they said sir you're making [1:19:56] me look so good my 401ks through the roof my wife thinks i'm the greatest genius and i'm a financial [1:20:02] genius like warren buffett he told me that he said i i think they have better returns than warren buffett right [1:20:09] now but he said all my life my wife has been criticizing me for not being smart financially [1:20:15] now all of a sudden she she's she loves me more but uh we added nine trillion dollars in value to [1:20:23] retirement accounts saving uh saving many people i mean they were going out of business think of it [1:20:31] we added nine trillion dollars of value to retirement accounts savings accounts and 401ks [1:20:37] that's during the course of 12 months and i think it's probably 11 months because i don't think they [1:20:42] have it for the 12 they have it for the 11 added nine trillion dollars of value lifted more than 1.2 [1:20:52] million americans off food stamps in one year they would have had another 1.2 million we would have had [1:20:58] welfare would have gone up and instead of investing 18 trillion dollars in our country now it's probably more [1:21:05] than that but 18 trillion and having thousands of plants being built all over the country you would [1:21:11] have had thousands of plants closing all over the country and you would have had disinvestment and you [1:21:18] would have had welfare going way up you know if you look at snap take a look at snap what happened with [1:21:26] that it was at seven billion dollars and it came out to over 51 billion dollars nobody has ever seen anything [1:21:34] like it the past administration uh they had no clue or they were really bad but they basically [1:21:44] had no clue but they did have a concept i mean they're still trying to sell the idea of men playing [1:21:51] in women's sports you saw that in the supreme court i mean some of those justices were fighting [1:21:56] for them too they were fighting for them but you saw that just the other day in the supreme court men [1:22:01] playing in women's sports doesn't work secured a record-breaking 18 trillion dollars in commitments [1:22:07] for new investments apple nvidia softbank oracle tsmc johnson and johnson eli lily and company [1:22:15] micron astrazeneca general motors hyundai ford honda ge aerospace many many others i left a ford plant [1:22:26] a week ago in michigan that they were going to close two years ago and now they just announced that [1:22:32] they're going 24 hours around the clock making cars terrorists did it i don't know what the supreme [1:22:38] court's going to do i think it to me it reads so plainly it couldn't be plainer you're allowed to do [1:22:45] a license tariff is probably less severe than what a license could be but think of it you're allowed [1:22:52] to do a license and then they have a clause at the end something to the effect or what is necessary [1:22:57] something to that effect and what is necessary with tariffs i don't know where there's a case even [1:23:03] there but we've taken in hundreds of billions of dollars and if we lose that case it's possible we're [1:23:10] going to have to do the best we can in paying it back i don't know how that's going to be done very [1:23:16] easily without hurting a lot of people but we're waiting for that case anxiously and we have tremendous [1:23:24] national security because of tariffs and tremendous income you know we have and by the way no inflation [1:23:31] so everyone said oh tariffs will cause inflation we have no inflation we have very little inflation [1:23:36] biden had inflation and he didn't do tariffs we had a huge problem we had we have a 62 percent [1:23:43] reduction in our trade deficit so if you had a one percent reduction a normal president would have a [1:23:49] one percent two percent reduction everybody would be high-fiving had a 62 percent reduction next year we [1:23:55] won't have a trade deficit we secured most favored nations agreements to slash drug prices by as much [1:24:03] to me i think this might be the biggest thing of all we get zero talk about it uh the new york [1:24:12] times had a story way in the back of the paper a little story about it i think it's the biggest thing [1:24:16] there is when you talk about health care drug prices will go down more than ever before for any [1:24:23] country because we was we were priced at such a level that we were subsidizing the entire world big [1:24:32] place the world we were paying 10 12 13 times more than other countries 13 times more not 13 percent [1:24:39] 13 times more a pill that was selling in london for 10 dollars would sell in new york for 130 [1:24:47] dollars that's 13 times more than that even but we secured most favored nations agreements to slash drug [1:24:56] prices by as much as 300 400 500 and even 600 percent including with pfizer astrazeneca eli lily nova nordisk [1:25:09] gilliad sciences emd serrano and many others if you look at some of the prices that are coming down [1:25:21] where a price would come down one thousand three hundred dollars coming down to eighty seven dollars [1:25:29] think of it so something that was costing one thousand three hundred dollars is now costing [1:25:34] eighty seven dollars and the fake news doesn't want to write about that's why i do this i don't [1:25:39] like to do this to be honest with you but i do it because got to get the word out we signed one big [1:25:48] beautiful bill i call it the great big beautiful bill delivering the largest tax cuts in history no tax [1:25:53] on tips no tax on social security no tax on overtime we made interest on car loans tax deductible for [1:26:02] u.s built automobiles only so if you build the if you buy an automobile built in the united states [1:26:07] we're not doing it for germany and canada and different places we're doing it only if it's built [1:26:13] here we want them to be built here a lot of the canadian auto plants are closing and they're moving [1:26:19] into the united states same thing with mexico same thing with germany and same thing with japan and other [1:26:24] countries they're moving into the united states because of tariffs because they don't want to pay the [1:26:28] tariffs it's too much they can't pay the tariffs so they're coming here nothing different than what [1:26:35] other smart countries did but it works better for us under my leadership it's not done properly but [1:26:44] it's done properly we have again more more plants being built than at any time in the history of our [1:26:50] country passed the largest spending cuts in american history and that was true in my first you know we [1:26:55] had a tremendous first term also we rebuilt our military we had one of the best we had the best [1:27:01] economy in the history of our country but we're blowing it away now this where this stuff starts [1:27:07] opening up you're not going to see anything like it probably ever again we slashed the federal budget [1:27:13] deficit by 27 percent in a single year think of that 27 you know you could do it two percent one percent [1:27:22] a half a percent 27 percent and that's with all of the things we have to do all of the people we have to [1:27:30] put on the payroll to get rid of people that are murderers again when you see people in minnesota [1:27:38] that are murderers these people are fighting to keep them there and i i say to christy and to tom [1:27:45] homan the great people they're working so hard look at the border the border is now secure first time [1:27:50] then you know biden said you couldn't do it you need legislation i had no legislation i said close the [1:27:55] border within one month we had almost nobody coming in now for the last eight months nobody came into [1:28:04] our country illegally and i find that hard to believe because you'd think somebody because it used to be [1:28:10] millions of people just poured into our country and the people that do that are democrat uh sort of [1:28:16] aligned so i mean they're not doing me any favors we had nobody come in we have a very strong [1:28:22] border very few people coming up they're not going to make the trek because they know they probably won't be [1:28:26] coming in so it's not as hard as you think but i didn't have to go back remember they said [1:28:32] we need legislation to close the border they had millions of people coming in a month we have nobody [1:28:39] coming in and we're getting their murderers out murderers people from prisons and jails many [1:28:46] countries opened up their prisons and dropped them into the united states those are the people we're [1:28:50] getting out and we have a lot of heart they said you gotta lighten up on this we have a lot of heart [1:28:57] for people they came in illegally but they're good people and they're working now on farms and they're [1:29:02] working in luncheonettes and hotels and all and we're not looking we're looking to get the criminals [1:29:09] out right now the criminals and i think it's very important i mean i every once in a while you see a [1:29:16] store we take somebody he should be out because they came in illegally so in theory they should be but [1:29:21] we're focused on the murderers the drug dealers the mentally insane we have a lot of mentally insane [1:29:28] killers i mean you can't even talk to them be nice if you could have a little reason but you can't [1:29:32] even reason these are seriously people ill people you have a couple of countries where they were loaded [1:29:39] up their mental institutions and insane assailments were loaded to the gills they couldn't get they're [1:29:44] empty now but they're filling up because we're bringing them all back we know where they came from [1:29:50] and every country accepts them you know under biden they wouldn't say they had so little respect [1:29:55] that they'd bring them there and they wouldn't take them they said get the hell out of here [1:29:59] they would would be bringing a plane in to land in a country and they'd put five planes on the runway [1:30:04] so you couldn't land the plane so they'd come back with the people that they were bringing back [1:30:09] they don't do that with me they do that with me they have problems [1:30:13] they don't do they accept them back they're not happy about it but they accept them back [1:30:18] cut a record number of regulations i promised to eliminate 10 old regulations [1:30:23] for every one new regulation instead we cut 129 old regulations for each one edit think of that [1:30:30] i want to do 10 last with my first four years i did when we put on a new regulation you had to cut [1:30:36] eight this year i said you have to cut 10 instead we cut 129 so every time so far can't remain like [1:30:45] that i don't imagine i hope i can because we have so much wasted regulation stupid regulations regulations [1:30:53] where they go by california which is a disaster state where the with a governor that truly is doing [1:30:59] a bad job he's killing that state if he ever ran the country this country would be venezuela very quickly [1:31:08] using tariffs slash the u.s trade deficit by an incredible 77 percent the trade deficit is down [1:31:17] and that doesn't include the last month where we had our best month we slashed a trade deficit by an [1:31:24] incredible 77 percent in one year with no inflation something that everyone said could not be done so we [1:31:30] had essentially no inflation in fact the last month we had very almost no inflation but we slashed the trade [1:31:38] deficit by 77 percent if you slashed it by one percent that was good again we did that with tariffs and [1:31:47] and intelligence we did that with november 5th great election we secured historic trade deals to [1:31:54] reduce barriers on u.s exports with countries covering 40 percent of all u.s trade think of that [1:32:01] american exports are up by more than 150 billion dollars this year people said oh we're not [1:32:08] in exporting all we do is buy if you keep buying you're not going to have a country for very long [1:32:13] so we increased exports by more than 150 billion dollars investment in american factories is up [1:32:22] 41 percent that's a record nobody goes 41 percent up you go two percent up one percent up you go down by [1:32:31] three percent if kamala got elected the 41 percent up would be 41 down we removed over 270 000 [1:32:41] bureaucrats from the federal pair that's another thing so we have you know we announce our uh our [1:32:48] unemployment numbers call it unemployment or employment and they were very good but we could [1:32:55] make them great but we've slashed tremendous numbers of people off the federal payroll because [1:33:04] ultimately if you're on the federal payroll i mean we have we have jobs where they had 10 people for [1:33:09] every job so we cut now if you want to see some good numbers i'll put i'll hire a million people we cut [1:33:16] millions of people off the federal payroll i don't like doing that but the good news i don't feel badly [1:33:22] because they're getting private sector jobs and they're getting sometimes twice as much money three [1:33:27] times as much money they're getting factory jobs they're getting much better jobs and much higher pay [1:33:33] but all i have to do is say like you know what the democrats do all the time they hire a million [1:33:40] people and then they hire another million another million they load it up and it says oh they only [1:33:45] have a three percent unemployment rate it's a fake rate so with us we're proud of the fact that we cut [1:33:51] so many because again i don't want to cut people but when you cut them and they go out and get a better [1:33:56] job i like to cut them and sometimes they have to be forced to do that because you know it's like they [1:34:02] want to stay where they are they don't know and then all of a sudden they end up we have many cases [1:34:06] caroline where where people were devastated they hated trump i got caught from my very boring federal [1:34:14] job where they had again sometimes 10 people to do one job and they were very upset and now they ended [1:34:21] up with a job where they get paid three times more money they're ending up buying houses it's like crazy [1:34:27] so they went from not liking me to liking me a lot because they're it's hard to get we need people [1:34:33] we need people it's one of the reasons i mean i want to when you have good people on the farm or [1:34:39] good people in hotels and everything else we want to work with them as much as we can [1:34:44] under biden one out of four jobs added was a government job think of that so 25 of the jobs added [1:34:52] that's when you when you know that that's 25 jobs aren't real jobs but again i could do that i could add [1:34:58] two million jobs right now would have an unemployment i could say just hire some more people i do the [1:35:05] opposite i say get rid of everybody that's unnecessary because that's the way you make america great again [1:35:11] when you have you know all these jobs where people are sitting around doing nothing and they get a lot [1:35:16] of money by the government it's no good but that's what the democrats do they show oh we were at four [1:35:22] percent unemployment that's a good number but they just add jobs or they wouldn't cut they would never cut [1:35:29] jobs under trump 100 of all new jobs created have been in the private sector think of that now one [1:35:38] percent has gone to federal so under biden one out of four was a government job under trump 100 of [1:35:46] the new jobs created 100 came from the private sector that's how you make your country wealthy and [1:35:55] strong and good we inherited the worst border in history and turned it into the strongest border in [1:36:00] history illegal crossings have plummeted to the lowest level ever recorded down 99.999 that means [1:36:10] down 100 99.99 i want to find out who that one person is for eight months in a row zero and these [1:36:21] are government numbers these are not my numbers for eight months in a row zero illegal aliens were admitted [1:36:26] to our country zero nobody came in unless they came in legally we have a big process for having people [1:36:34] come in legally by the way a lot of people are coming in legally they have to prove they love our [1:36:39] country they have to prove that they're not going to need welfare a lot of things they have to prove [1:36:45] for the first time in 50 years we are now seeing reverse migration where we're getting because we're [1:36:54] getting all of these illegal people out people that came in illegally many cases they're criminals in many [1:36:59] many cases remember when they used to say that the people that come into our country as immigrants [1:37:06] are very nice people they're wonderful people they don't commit crime no they make our criminals [1:37:11] look like babies they make our hell's angels look like the sweetest people on earth the hell's angels [1:37:19] are now considered a nice high quality person i like the hell's angels they voted for me they protected [1:37:27] me actually believe it or not but they make our criminals look like babies these are some of the most [1:37:35] vicious people anywhere in the world they came from the congo the prisons i know the congo because [1:37:40] i ended the war with the congo and rwanda tough group very tough group they came from prisons in the [1:37:48] congo some of the toughest meanest people you'll ever meet thank you very much they allowed them to come [1:37:57] into america these are tough people before my election 100 of net job creation was going to foreign [1:38:05] migrants since my inauguration 100 of the net jobs created have gone to american-born citizens that's [1:38:13] a big thing in other words we're now taking care of our people 100 of net jobs created have gone to the [1:38:19] american-born people before that we didn't care uh designated trend de aragua ms 13 and the mexican [1:38:29] drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations and we've hit them hard you've seen what we've done [1:38:35] on the water we're starting to do that on land the land is much easier actually water is incredible [1:38:42] we did that on the water so that when you do it on the land they don't go to the water nobody's going [1:38:49] into the boat business right now i can tell you 97 down drugs coming in by water thank you 97 [1:38:59] nobody ever heard of that before 90 they heard two percent one percent it went up two percent 97 [1:39:06] and we're looking for the three percent who the hell are the three percent they're crazy but uh we [1:39:13] we've we've taken out almost 100 of the drugs coming in by water now we're going to be very [1:39:22] shortly starting drugs coming in by land we know exactly where they're coming from removed tens of [1:39:28] thousands of illegal alien gang members drug dealers murderers child predators human traffickers fraudsters [1:39:36] savage criminals and others we removed them from our country they're out they're gone in some cases [1:39:43] they're so dangerous that we put them in jail because we don't want to give them to their country [1:39:48] their country doesn't do anything and they end up coming back we we have some that we're just they're [1:39:52] so bad that we don't want to really release them we want to put them in a jail where we know [1:39:57] they're properly uh ensconced think of that remove tens of thousands of illegal alien gang members [1:40:07] drug dealers murderers child predators human traffickers fraudsters and savage criminals [1:40:14] why wouldn't you want them removed the reason is because these are insurrectionists that are doing [1:40:23] this work and you know they're going to make mistakes sometimes ice is going to be too rough with [1:40:28] somebody or you know they're dealing with rough people they're going to make a mistake sometimes [1:40:33] it can happen we feel terribly i felt horribly when i was told that the young woman who was uh had the [1:40:44] tragedy it's a tragedy it's a horrible thing everybody would say ice would say the same thing [1:40:49] but uh when i learned her her parents and her father in particular is like was he i hope he still is [1:40:57] but i don't know was a tremendous trump fan he was all for trump loved trump and uh you know it's [1:41:07] terrible i was told that by a lot of people they said oh he loves you he he was a i hope i hope he [1:41:14] still feels that way i don't know it's hard hard situation but her father was a tremendous and and [1:41:19] parents were tremendous uh trump fans i'd so say it just happens it's terrible halted all refugee admissions [1:41:30] to the united states including from somalia which is a terrible terrible place and other dangerous [1:41:35] places and we also stopped the pirates because they get the same treatment as the drug boats so [1:41:43] when somalia the somalians you know what they're good at that's about the only thing they're good at is [1:41:48] they're good at pirating ships at sea big ships so you have a huge oil tanker with millions of gallons [1:41:58] millions of barrels of oil and if it gets hit by a big weapon the whole thing blows up and they don't [1:42:07] want to fight because if they do they're told by their insurance companies do not hand over the ship [1:42:13] and they're not allowed to have any guns on the ship that they're literally you have these massive [1:42:18] ships being taken over by a somalian small boat with a big weapon because if they hit the side of [1:42:25] the ship the ship can blow up to i mean you talk about a blow up bad we've seen we've seen some bad [1:42:32] things happen and the insurance insurance companies some of these ships cost more than a billion [1:42:37] dollars to build and the insurance companies say look would rather give them money than take a chance [1:42:42] on a billion dollar insurance policy but they don't have to worry about it because we hit them the same [1:42:48] way we hit the people with the drugs in their boat they don't know what the hell happened but all of a [1:42:55] sudden there are no pirates at sea do you notice we haven't had a boat taken in a little while [1:43:01] came out of somalia really corrupt place it's not a country they don't have government they don't [1:43:06] have anything i i always hate to see this ilan omar she comes from somalia a backward country probably [1:43:16] the worst country they say it's the worst country in the world if it's a country i don't even think [1:43:19] it's a country there's no organization knowing it they don't have police they don't have military [1:43:25] they don't have anything they just have people running around killing each other and and trying to [1:43:30] pirate ships but uh she'll come here comes and then she wants to tell us how to run our country [1:43:37] the constitution says that i am entitled to this i can't stand her terminated all taxpayer-funded [1:43:47] benefits for illegal aliens and kicked 275 000 illegals off of social security they were illegally [1:43:54] getting social security 275 000 people i'm telling you it's not that this is pleasurable but if i [1:44:03] weren't elected president this country was just was going to be destroyed quickly very quickly i think [1:44:09] within a year if you had kamala or a joe type i mean joe was a disaster but if you had kamala he was [1:44:17] the replacement i was up by like 25 points on joe and they said hey let's get somebody else this never [1:44:22] happened well i was a i had so many firsts you're leading somebody by a lot and they say oh let's take [1:44:28] them out let's put somebody that's like i said to dana white the other night i said you know dana it's like [1:44:33] you have a fighter two fighters one guy is winning by a lot and they say oh let's take this guy out [1:44:39] let's put a new fighter in the ring with him that's what happened to me i was doing great with [1:44:44] biden the whole campaign was against biden all the money was spent against biden and all of a sudden [1:44:50] i got kamala everyone said who the hell is she but that didn't work out too well for them but never [1:44:56] happened before we are about lots of firsts designated english as the official language of the united [1:45:03] states of america we did that very powerfully and while we're at it we also took the gulf of mexico [1:45:11] and now it's the gulf of america because we have 92 of the shoreline it always bothered me i'd say you [1:45:19] know we have most of the shoreline mexico has a small percentage talks about eight percent we have 92 [1:45:25] percent and i said why why is it the gulf of mexico it should be the gulf of america i was going to call [1:45:31] it the gulf of trump but i thought that i would be killed if i did that i wanted to do it i wanted [1:45:37] to my people work so hard sir don't think it'll look too good i'm telling you it's a good thing [1:45:44] and it'll be hotter than ever i said no but i decided not to do that i'm i'm joking you know [1:45:51] when i say that i was not going to call it the gulf of trump because tomorrow will be trump wanted to [1:45:57] call it the gulf of trump but he was rebuffed by his people my people don't rebuff me too much [1:46:04] the gulf of trump that does have a good ring though maybe we could do that it's not too late [1:46:10] no we have the gulf of america now it's great it's our country is proud for the attack on venezuela the [1:46:17] attack on the iran nuclear capability wiped it out i mean first administration soleimani the father of [1:46:26] the roadside bomb al baghdaddy the father of isis who was rebuilding isis we wiped them out done a great job [1:46:37] signed an order that will end birthright citizenship for children of illegal migrants you know that case [1:46:43] is in court right now that case was meant for the children of slaves all you have to do is look at [1:46:49] the years look at the look at the years where the cases were filed and where the decisions were made [1:46:55] they were right at the end of the civil war trying to say that you know the in china is making a big [1:47:02] business out of that they come to the country they have a child the american citizen they get all the [1:47:06] benefits nothing to do with that that was for the children of slaves and i hope the supreme court so [1:47:16] rules designated fentanyl as a weapon of mass destruction it is we lost i believe 300 000 [1:47:23] people last year this year 300 000 people that's like filling up one of those big football stadiums [1:47:31] five times it's not even believable i mean you could be in a war and you wouldn't lose that many people [1:47:40] so we designated fentanyl a weapon of mass destruction conducted numerous successful [1:47:45] military strikes against narco terrorists operating in our hemisphere including the water strikes drugs [1:47:52] brought in by ocean so i told you that we're down by i mean close to 100 percent it's hard to get [1:48:02] somebody to pilot those boats very hard they have to be people that don't watch television don't read the [1:48:09] news and we just blew up their uh facility they had a docking facility where the drugs were stored [1:48:16] and now we have a great relationship with venezuela we're getting along fantastically with the [1:48:21] leadership in venezuela so we wouldn't have to do that this was done before before the attack [1:48:28] but we captured and brought to justice the outlaw dictator of venezuela nicholas maduro who through drugs [1:48:37] killed millions of people in our country tremendous drug dealer also sent millions of people into our [1:48:45] country including trend de aragua the worst gang they say it's the worst gang in the world they took [1:48:51] over parts of colorado they just take the apartment building they just took it away just took it away [1:48:56] like we're here they cut the hand off one man because he called the police who called the police i did [1:49:02] you took my apartment from me boom no hand this is what they sent us restoring law and order new [1:49:11] category dc and memphis federal task forces deployed massive numbers of federal law enforcement [1:49:16] officers and national guard to restore safety crime down in dc is almost down to nothing dc was a very [1:49:26] very dangerous place and i think you probably know better than i do i have a lot of people in [1:49:31] the media thanked me for that but some of them found it hard to thank me but you know dc is now look [1:49:38] how beautiful dc is now you can walk right from here to a restaurant right through the center of [1:49:44] town you can be with your child with your loved one with your lover your lover's not going to be killed [1:49:51] anymore so you can act like a real lover but you can be you can walk right through the middle of the [1:49:58] town and dc is beautiful again too you know you notice we took all the fences down almost all the rest [1:50:04] are coming down we took got the graffiti all off national guards been amazing you know we didn't tell them to [1:50:11] do that that's not their job description but they were picking up garbage and i mean they were great [1:50:16] and i don't know to me that to me a town it looks better when you have military people these are big [1:50:22] strong guys or bad guys look at them and they say we're not going to mess around but uh what they don't [1:50:28] know is that we took over 2 000 people out permanently out of dc these were career criminals but i feel much [1:50:35] better uh seeing those people there i went in a couple of times and had dinner in dc i walked right down [1:50:42] the middle of the street i felt very safe a year ago i couldn't have done that i would have been [1:50:48] crazy to have done that and secret surfers wouldn't let me do it they weren't thrilled anyway i will tell [1:50:54] you it wasn't like they were thrilled but but uh we did it and it was great but dc is a great thing and [1:51:03] we have uh virtually no crime in dc anymore before before we did this move it was we could do the same [1:51:11] thing with chicago you know we brought chicago down 25 percent even though we just had a minimal crew [1:51:16] there we brought uh we brought uh wisconsin uh down we brought minnesota down way down even though [1:51:26] everything's a fight you know because they want to keep those people that are lying on the floor [1:51:32] they want to keep those people in minnesota but they really don't i don't think the real people of [1:51:37] minnesota very corrupt place uh and the elections are totally corrupt i feel i won it all three times [1:51:44] nobody's won that state since richard nixon it's a rigged state and the somalians vote as one group [1:51:51] even if they're not citizens and they vote as one group and you know you get 600 000 votes against you [1:51:56] they all ought to get the hell out of here they're bad for our country nationwide achieved the largest [1:52:02] reduction in violent crime on record so this just came out nationwide over the last 11 months achieved [1:52:10] the largest reduction in violent crime on record including the largest one-year drop in murders [1:52:15] ever recorded almost 2 000 lives were saved that's despite the fact that we took in criminals under the [1:52:24] leadership of the democrats and joe biden more motor vehicle theft is down by 100 000 vehicles nationwide [1:52:37] that's another nationwide the motor vehicle theft is at was out of control and now it's very much [1:52:43] in control it was down by more than 100 000 vehicles to a low a record low began the process of eliminating [1:52:54] cashless bail policies across the nation you got to get rid of your sanctuary cities and i hope our [1:53:00] people know that we're not going to pay sanctuary cities we're not going to pay them anymore they are [1:53:06] sanctuary for criminals they hold criminals we're not going to pay saying they can sue us and maybe [1:53:12] they'll win but we're not giving money to sanctuary cities anymore as of the beginning of the month [1:53:19] we began the process of eliminating the cashless bail well cashless bail is where it all started it's a [1:53:26] disaster and then other places i don't know if it started in new york i remember it starting in new [1:53:31] york so somebody comes in murder somebody and they let them out no bail no nothing basically cashless bail [1:53:38] means you just get the hell out and they go outside we have one case where a guy murders somebody [1:53:45] gets released and goes out and murders somebody two people in one day no we got to get rid of cashless [1:53:53] bail they got to pay you got to have bail there's a reason for bail long tested signed an executive [1:54:00] order to bring back mental institutions and insane asylums we're going to have to bring them back [1:54:05] hate to build those suckers but but you got to get the people off the streets you know we used to have [1:54:12] when i was growing up we had in my area in queens i grew up in queens we had a place called creedmore [1:54:19] creedmore did anybody know that creedmore it was a big i said mom why are those bars on the building [1:54:27] i used to play little league baseball there a place called cunningham park who's quite the [1:54:34] baseball player you wouldn't believe but i said to my mother mom she would be there always there for me [1:54:41] she said son you could be a professional baseball player i said thanks mom i said why are those bars [1:54:48] on the windows big building big powerful building it loomed over the park actually she said well [1:54:58] people that are very sick are in that building i said boy i used to always look at that building and [1:55:05] i'd see this big building big tall building it loomed over the park it was sort of now that i think it [1:55:11] was pretty unfriendly site but i'll never forget i don't know if it's still there because they got rid of [1:55:18] most of them you know they the democrats in new york they took them down and the people live on the [1:55:23] streets now that's why you have a lot of the people in california and other places they live [1:55:29] in the streets they took the mental institutions down they're expensive but i'd say why does that [1:55:33] building up those bars boy it didn't it wasn't normal you know you're used to looking at like a [1:55:39] window but this when you look at it all the steel vicious steel tiny windows bars all over the place [1:55:46] nobody was getting out it's called the mental institution that was an insane asylum designated [1:55:52] antifa as a domestic terrorist organization and many others it is america is respected again on [1:55:59] the world stage that's another topic obliterated iran's nuclear enrichment capability and operation [1:56:06] midnight hammer was one of the most successful anyone's ever seen cnn fake news i don't know where [1:56:11] they are cnn anybody from cnn here fake news nobody wants to raise their hand anymore they used to [1:56:17] are here now if you're with cnn you don't raise your hand but they said well maybe it wasn't that [1:56:22] successful which i really went and i was angry because these pilots took their life in their hands [1:56:28] two o'clock in the morning with no moon dead dark gun shooting at them they went in with those [1:56:34] beautiful b2s and every single bomb went down an air shaft and obliterated it and cnn came out and said [1:56:43] well maybe it wasn't by the same by a scam writer a scam writer who wrote you know fake stories a lot [1:56:49] of fake stories on other topics right as when we did it we said that's a terrible thing you know the [1:56:55] pilots came back and they said we hit everything they did a great job then on top of that we launched [1:57:02] from a submarine about 30 tomahawks on top of everything else the place was obliterated cnn said [1:57:10] well maybe it wasn't that bad it was turned out it was worse than it was you know who could tell [1:57:16] you that the iranians would tell you that because if they do anything they're gonna have to start a [1:57:22] brand new place but they did an amazing job that was a it was like what we did with venezuela i mean [1:57:30] nobody's ever seen a military operation like that ended eight unendable wars in 10 months these were [1:57:37] unendable wars cambodia and thailand fighting for years kosovo and serbia the congo and rwanda [1:57:46] pakistan and india they were really going at it eight planes shot down they were going to go [1:57:51] nuclear in my opinion the prime minister of pakistan was here and he said president trump saved 10 million [1:57:59] people and maybe much more than that they're both nuclear countries israel and iran egypt and ethiopia [1:58:08] were going to fight over a dam and i got them to stop i still got to work it out because they [1:58:14] put a dam up in ethiopia that stops the flow from a little river called the nile i always think of the [1:58:22] nile being in egypt you know beautiful nile with the pyramids but they put a dam up you know who paid [1:58:29] for the dam the united states it's biggest dam i think in the world they put a dam up i said how did [1:58:38] you let that happen why would we have done that we financed it this country would i don't know i don't [1:58:44] know maybe it was a republican president but i don't think it was i think it was a democrat but [1:58:49] what a terrible thing so egypt basically is they don't have enough water in the nile and they use [1:58:55] that for a lot of things including entertainment and travel and tourism and everything i mean i don't [1:59:04] know they got a big dam i gotta work that one out now too armenia and azerbaijan president putin [1:59:12] told me i cannot believe you settled that war i've been trying to settle that war for 10 years [1:59:18] armenia and azerbaijan they were fighting it for many many years and i ended up getting the heads of [1:59:27] the both countries in my office beautiful oval office much more beautiful now than it ever was [1:59:34] and one side of one side one side of the other he said you know i've been the head of azerbaijan [1:59:40] for 22 years and for 22 years i've been killing his people and the other gentlemen and both very good [1:59:48] guys he said i've been here for seven years and for seven years i've been killing his people [1:59:53] and they started over there and within an hour they were next to each other and by the time we [1:59:57] ended they were hugging each other and it's been a great peace you know should have gotten the nobel [2:00:03] prize for each war but i don't say that i saved millions and millions of people and don't let [2:00:08] anyone tell you that norway doesn't control the shots okay it's in norway norway controls the shots [2:00:15] they'll say we have nothing to do with it uh it's a joke they've lost such prestige got all that's why [2:00:23] i have such respect for maria doing what she did she said i don't deserve the nobel prize he does [2:00:28] when she got it they named they said wow that's amazing i thought president trump would get it [2:00:33] president trump deserves it he ended up eight wars how nice right good woman got all 20 living [2:00:42] hostages returned to their families and the remains uh they all came out we got the 20 living hostages [2:00:49] we got the 28 hostages they have one left that we think we know where it is amazing look like we [2:00:56] weren't going to get anywhere near that now they've gotten almost and uh more importantly we got many more [2:01:02] hundreds we got them all if we didn't if we didn't do it you wouldn't have had most of those people [2:01:09] would have been dead i don't know if that's covered properly but you know the 20 is great they were the [2:01:14] last ones i always said the last 20 are going to be hard but we got them we got the last 20 and we got [2:01:20] close to 28 of the uh of the bodies of the dead and to those parents that was just as important as [2:01:27] getting their son back alive they were almost even more intent on getting they knew their son was [2:01:33] dead they wanted to get the body i got them back we just created the board of peace which i think is [2:01:40] going to be amazing i wish the united nations could do more i wish we didn't need a board of [2:01:46] peace but the united nations and you know with all the wars i settled the united nations [2:01:50] never helped me on one war i mean i guess i'm not blaming them i didn't call them to help [2:01:56] but i got you know the presidents and prime ministers together we knocked heads we got along [2:02:02] they liked me i liked them every single one of them nominated me for a nobel prize every one of the [2:02:08] wars among many other people nominated me for a nobel prize but putin told me i cannot believe you got [2:02:16] this war settled i've worked on it for 10 years because it's his territory rescued 83 american hostages [2:02:23] and citizens detained from abroad without paying a lot of money paid no money apprehended terrorists [2:02:33] responsible for the abbey gate bombing that claimed the lives of 13 u.s service members in afghanistan [2:02:40] the lowest point in the history of our country that was a biting disaster i was getting out but i was [2:02:46] getting out with dignity and strength we were the boss oh we were the boss they wouldn't do a thing [2:02:51] against us and this very stupid person got in and what a shame they should have left from bagram [2:03:02] which is the big military base which has hundreds of acres around it should have left from bagram [2:03:07] terminated visas of hamas sympathizers and deported pro-jihad foreign nationals got nato members to [2:03:15] agree to raise defense spending to five percent of gdp from two percent and they paid the five percent [2:03:22] and they didn't pay the two percent and by the way i did more for nato than any other person alive or [2:03:27] dead nobody's done for nato and i think for the most part they'll tell you that i think you could ask [2:03:34] the secretary general about that but he said it a lot i've done more for nato than anybody and i see [2:03:41] all this stuff but nato has to treat us fairly too the big fear i have with nato is we spend tremendous [2:03:47] amounts of money with nato and i know we'll come to their rescue but i i just really do question whether [2:03:52] or not they'll come to ours you know just i'm just asking just saying right you remember during the [2:04:01] debate just saying signed one trillion dollar investment in u.s military and next year we [2:04:08] hopefully we'll go to 1.5 trillion we're building battleships that are 100 times more powerful than [2:04:14] the battleships of world war ii which are the big beautiful those big beautiful things with the guns [2:04:19] i said what about bringing them out of dry down they said sir what we're building will blow them away [2:04:24] it's think of it these ships are 100 times more powerful than the battleships that you see on [2:04:32] victory at sea do you ever see victory at sea what a great thing that is to watch [2:04:38] renamed the department of defense into the department of war which everyone loves by the way signed [2:04:45] landmark critical minerals deals with australia malaysia thailand ukraine japan and many others [2:04:52] we're going to have so much rare earth it's actually not that rare getting it processed is rare [2:04:58] but there's a lot of rare earth there's a lot of earth around i can tell you withdrew from the corrupt [2:05:04] world health organization where we were paying hundreds of millions of dollars a year so we were [2:05:11] paying 500 million dollars a year and china is paying 37 million dollars a year i said why aren't we [2:05:18] paying the same as china they said well nobody asked i said china's got 1.4 billion people we have [2:05:27] 350 million probably with all the illegals you know china probably knows more accurately but we have much [2:05:36] smaller in terms of the number of people we have a much more powerful military but we have much [2:05:41] smaller i rebuilt the military during my first term by the way and while they gave away a lot to afghanistan [2:05:48] the taliban which was just horrible seeing them every year seeing them do that military down some [2:05:55] dirty street is a disgrace but while they gave while biden gave a lot of it away it's a tiny fraction [2:06:02] compared to what we did i rebuilt the military and now we're we're continuing to to build it and [2:06:10] bigger and better we needed peace through strength but we withdrew from the corrupt world health [2:06:17] organizations so i remember we were paying 500 million they were paying 37 or 39 million and i said [2:06:25] how come so i withdrew and they called we'll give you the same deal that they had i said well it should [2:06:30] be less than that because if they're 37 and you have three times four times the number of people even [2:06:39] maybe five times i don't know so it should be less but i i didn't want to chisel around and i thought [2:06:46] about it so i could have taken 500 million to 37 and everybody knew it i chose not to do it because [2:06:52] it was actually very popular when i got out because they were terrible and so i chose not to take that [2:06:58] deal first thing biden did is go back into it you know what he paid more than 500 million [2:07:04] so i actually called them i said you know you can buy it for less you can make a deal at 37 there's no [2:07:09] reason to pay 500 they didn't care they paid more than 500 did you know that they paid more than 500 [2:07:16] million i made a deal at 37 i could have had 37 they were public about it we'll give you the same [2:07:22] deal that china has for 37 and they paid 500 they paid 500 million dollars that's the way you ruin a [2:07:30] country and it's the same attitude that you know you have on everything else with these people they [2:07:35] were terrible the anti-american un human rights council we ended the union un relief and works agency [2:07:42] we ended and the fake paris climate accord which was a ripoff of america where we had to pay a [2:07:48] trillion dollars and they were paying nothing china didn't kick in until 2035 we kicked in immediately [2:07:55] we were supposed to pay a trillion dollars russia went to a standard of 1991 which was a dirtier standard [2:08:02] but we had to pay top dollar so i terminated that another rick we ended the woke lunacy and restored [2:08:10] common sense abolished all discriminatory diversity equity and inclusion dei policies throughout the [2:08:17] federal government and the private sector they're gone everybody they're gone terrible terminated the [2:08:23] green news scam and ended the insane electric vehicle mandate i love electric vehicles that caused [2:08:31] me a little problem with a man named elon but he understands and he's a good guy get along but i said elon [2:08:39] we can't have all electric cars we just can't do it i like the electric cars i like his car [2:08:45] but uh in particular i like his car but we can't do that because some people don't want an electric car [2:08:52] by 2030 and to build the power stations all over the country would have cost four trillion dollars four [2:09:00] trillion that's more than any country has if you got china the united states and everyone you couldn't do [2:09:05] it and it would have taken years and yet they were supposed to be switching over electric vehicle [2:09:12] mandate some people don't like electric cars some people want hybrids some people want regular [2:09:18] gasoline powered cars we have more gasoline than anybody and now with venezuela we have you know we [2:09:24] have 62 percent of the market when you include venezuela so i ended the green news scam and i ended the [2:09:33] insane electric vehicle mandate now you can buy a gasoline powered car a hybrid and you can buy a electric [2:09:41] vehicle i mean if you think if you want electric you can buy it make a good deal on them right now [2:09:48] because they made a lot of them permanently stopped joe biden's ridiculous cafe standards that's [2:09:54] having to do with the environment so ridiculous cancel the eps absurd totally absurd tailpipe emission [2:10:02] standard which made you spend hundreds of thousands it may for hundreds of thousands of cars [2:10:09] cars the numbers the cost numbers were incredible that the consumer has to pay imposed 25 percent [2:10:15] tariff for no foreign automobiles and a hundred percent tariff on chinese cars would don't come into [2:10:22] the country because of tariffs only because of tests we didn't have tariffs you wouldn't have any [2:10:27] card we have now more car factories being built in the united states than ever before because of tariffs [2:10:34] if they take those tariffs away china will eat our lunch they'll take all of our garbage now there's [2:10:44] another way of doing it but it's more cumbersome et cetera et cetera i don't want to scare you but [2:10:49] it's more much more cumbersome not as good not as good for national security as this we have a perfect [2:10:56] system right now we're making a fortune we've never been stronger and i hope the supreme court does the [2:11:02] right thing for our country because if they don't it's such a pro it's just so it would be so sad we're [2:11:09] doing so well because of tariffs and the people that are heading up the lawsuit like there's a guy [2:11:17] named leonard leo's uh bad guy and people that are very china oriented and foreign car oriented and [2:11:28] foreign business oriented but in particular china they're suing to get rid of tariffs because they [2:11:34] don't want tariffs like coke coke has businesses outside of the united states if you have them [2:11:41] outside you don't want tariffs but because of tariffs they treat us well without tariffs they would treat [2:11:47] us very badly as you saw for many years they respect us more now than they ever have respected us by a lot [2:11:55] and revoke the california emissions waiver to stop san francisco communists from regulating the automobile [2:12:01] industry and destroying automobiles and the industry in the nation i was with bill ford of ford motors i [2:12:10] was with all the people at general motors the other day and they are making more money and building more [2:12:16] cars than they've ever they are doing so good all because of tariffs and what i've done and they're [2:12:22] building their plants all in the united states reopened anwar for drilling that's a big deal launched [2:12:30] we've been listening to president trump speak at the white house press briefing as he marks one year [2:12:35] into his second presidential term the president's outing what he sees as his accomplishments this year [2:12:40] including the economy his tariffs and securing the border the president also discussing venezuela's [2:12:45] future saint of opposition leader maria corina machado maybe we can get her involved and president [2:12:51] trump addressing the unrest in minneapolis as well saying he felt terribly about the ice shooting [2:12:56] of renee good and that he understands both sides while we've been listening nbc news has learned [2:13:01] that the justice department has subpoenaed minnesota officials including the offices of governor [2:13:06] walls and minnesota mayor jacob fry regarding whether they conspire to impede law enforcement [2:13:11] during immigration operations over there i want to bring in our senior white house correspondent gabe [2:13:16] gutierrez gabe we're somewhere around i think the 200 mark there are 365 points the white house put out [2:13:22] of their accomplishments at time the president hitting those points at other times sort of going [2:13:27] into a tangent talking about playing professional baseball or world war ii movies the news conference [2:13:32] has been more than an hour but he said a couple of times he wanted to make sure that he got his message [2:13:37] out and at times questioning his public relations people it's clear the president wanted to talk about [2:13:42] all of his accomplishments and so much more yeah that's right tom he's in a bit of a joking mood [2:13:47] sometimes a rambling mood at others but certainly he has been frustrated that his message hasn't come [2:13:53] across the way he would like over this first year you mentioned that briefing still ongoing you see [2:13:58] that packed briefing room even more so than usual as that briefing takes or passes the one hour mark [2:14:05] the president also there over the last few minutes mentioning nato saying that he's done more for nato [2:14:11] than anyone this comes at a very fraught time really around the world as i mentioned earlier he's heading [2:14:16] to davos later on today for that world economic forum certainly wanting to get his message across [2:14:24] with regards to his first year in office but the president also softening his tone by the way tom on [2:14:31] that ice shooting that has drawn so much controversy the shooting of renee good you mentioned he said that [2:14:37] he understood both sides but still him and other administration officials have been stressing [2:14:43] uh what they consider uh to be unlawful conduct on the on behalf of renee good impeding uh ice officers [2:14:51] as well so yes the president going through a laundry list of what he sees as his accomplishments uh [2:14:56] touching on immigration the economy also raising the prospect of a case before the supreme court we're [2:15:02] still awaiting a potentially hugely significant ruling on the president's tariff policy and even when it [2:15:09] comes to tariffs right now uh affecting the markets uh even today the dow dropping hundreds of points [2:15:15] as uh amid this turmoil between the president threatening new tariffs against european allies [2:15:21] over his uh plan to overtake greenland somehow tom yeah the president's speaking about so many issues [2:15:26] you mentioned greenland he also mentioned on his truth social post that things are going to be very [2:15:31] interesting in davos as you mentioned he's headed there tomorrow do we have any idea what he's talking [2:15:35] about here is it going to be about tariffs is it going to be about greenland do we have any sense of [2:15:39] that uh in his davos uh meetings uh tom well uh he has uh agreed uh to meet uh with world leaders and [2:15:46] speak uh about greenland just over the past uh 24 36 hours he's been exchanging messages uh remarkably [2:15:53] some of those messages have been made public um the president himself posting an exchange with [2:15:59] the french president emmanuel macron who has said that uh in that according to that text message that he [2:16:04] agreed with the president on certain policies in iran and syria but that he doesn't know what he's up [2:16:10] to in greenland and uh macron uh trying to uh speak with the president uh inviting him even to paris [2:16:18] to have dinner uh with uh macron on thursday but according to a white house official who tells [2:16:24] nbc news right now the president has no plans to do that so at the moment tom while there are already [2:16:29] world leaders in davos speaking um and pushing back against the u.s plans for greenland we don't [2:16:36] know how this will play out but uh many uh observers will be watching to see how president trump interacts [2:16:44] with um with other world leaders in davos and another thing uh tom something that we'll also be [2:16:49] watching the president his administration plan to reveal more details about that so-called board of [2:16:55] peace uh the reconstruction of gaza uh the white house has been inviting world leaders to be a part [2:17:01] of that uh of that board including controversially russian president vladimir putin tom all right [2:17:07] gabe stand by for us and you want to go to hallie jackson hallie we had a bit of breaking news as we [2:17:10] were covering this news conference and the president was speaking it sounds like subpoenas from from [2:17:14] what we have reporting here to nbc news subpoenas have been served at the offices of the governor of [2:17:19] minnesota as well as the mayor of minneapolis what more do we know about that that's right tom a slew of [2:17:24] subpoenas now coming from the department of justice to officials in minnesota state and local as [2:17:28] well from the minnesota attorney general to the office of the governor there the minneapolis mayor [2:17:33] jacob fry who has been very public very front and center in this we can pull it up on screen you can [2:17:38] see the list of subpoenas there according to a document reviewed by nbc news and a person familiar [2:17:43] with the investigation the subpoenas according to the doj are that related to this idea that minnesota [2:17:48] public officials according to the trump administration conspired to impede law enforcement during [2:17:53] immigration operations there we already have a response now from uh the office of the minneapolis [2:17:58] mayor from mayor fry who's suggesting that the federal government is weaponizing its power to try [2:18:03] to intimidate local leaders for doing their jobs going on to say that every american should be concerned [2:18:09] he says we shouldn't have to live in a country where people fear that federal law enforcement will be [2:18:13] used to play politics or crack down on local voices they disagree with and tom make no mistake this is [2:18:18] an escalation now of the conflict here between the feds between the trump administration and state [2:18:23] and local officials in the state of minnesota and in the city of minneapolis after the killing of [2:18:27] renee good now two weeks ago here the woman who was shot and killed by an ice officer at the tail end of [2:18:32] some operations they have been conducting in that city you heard the president too interestingly [2:18:37] reference uh good he took a different tone on this than we have heard from his top officials over the [2:18:42] the course of the last 12 days or so suggesting uh that ice may have made a mistake generally that ice [2:18:48] can make mistakes that is markedly different tom from the more defiant and defensive tone that we [2:18:54] had heard from people like the department of homeland security secretary christine noem so a lot of moving [2:18:59] pieces on the minnesota yeah late today too it was a notable shift and we'll see if the white house [2:19:03] sticks with that language or or if it if it morphs into something else i do want to bring in our senior [2:19:07] business correspondent christine romans who joins us now christine the the president when it comes to [2:19:11] polling is underwater when it comes to the economy part of of what's happening right now what we were [2:19:16] listening to is so he can get his economic message across the way he wants it he cited core inflation [2:19:21] at 1.7 percent by all accounts it's still 2.6 percent we do know that the stock market is up 16 [2:19:27] percent since he took office talk to us about some of the gains and some of the headwinds that the trump [2:19:32] administration still faces yeah the president is trying to brand what is a cost of living economy in [2:19:36] the eyes of so many working americans as the hottest economy in the world and and he [2:19:41] uses a lot of different statistics he says that you lost money under joe biden you're making money [2:19:46] under me and we know the polls don't show that the majority of americans feel that way he talked a [2:19:51] lot about the stock market there record highs in the stock market that's true the s p 500 up 16 percent [2:19:56] the first year of his uh second first term but that exactly matches the first term of joe biden so [2:20:03] which also had some record highs over the biden administration um as well and on inflation i mean [2:20:08] the administration clearly cutting those numbers and excluded core inflation excludes uh food and um [2:20:14] energy and a 1.6 number of the president's quoting must exclude some other things as well because you [2:20:20] are right core inflation is running more like uh 2.6 percent at the end of the year and inflation [2:20:26] by the way by the end of last year was just exactly where it was when he took office so there [2:20:30] had been some progress in the biden administration and that progress stalling a bit if you read the numbers [2:20:35] uh the way they come out uh every month from um from the government so again trying to paint the [2:20:41] economy is something you're making money under the bite of the trump administration you lost money [2:20:45] under the biden administration we'll see if that rebranding works yeah and the president learning [2:20:49] when the economy it's not so much the stats it's how americans feel and and the choices they're making [2:20:53] with their money christine we thank you for that that's going to conclude this nbc news special [2:20:57] report we're gonna have much more coverage ahead on your local station our streaming channel nbc news now [2:21:02] online at nbcnews.com and i'll see you with a full wrap-up tonight on nbc nightly news i'm tom [2:21:08] llamas we thank you for watching no i mean two or three years and the place went crazy well they still [2:21:16] haven't got their permits but every federal permit every single one has been given a year ago and lee [2:21:24] zeldin has done a great job but he's done a great job in the approval of all these big plants and [2:21:29] factories and all of the electricity that they're creating for themselves i said to zuckerberg i said [2:21:38] to all of them i said to jeff bezos i said to everybody mark zuckerberg couldn't believe it he [2:21:45] he said you know where are we going to get all the electricity because you need double the electricity [2:21:49] that the curt the country currently makes just to fire up those big plans i said well nobody can do [2:21:56] that so what we're going to do is let you make your own electricity nobody believed it and i said we're going [2:22:02] to get your fast permit so we get them within two weeks and they're coming up with some of the [2:22:07] most incredible electric plants you've ever seen so each one of those massive buildings ai or [2:22:12] otherwise is building their own electricity they're building their own plant and it's incredible many [2:22:19] of them are under construction already they're going to have uh we're leading ai and we're leading [2:22:24] china by a lot established a maha presidential commission banned many artificial food dives as you [2:22:31] know issued new vaccine recommendations and created new real food pyramid and bobby and dr raz have [2:22:39] been incredible provided 12 billion in aid for american farmers just gave them 12 billion dollars in aid [2:22:45] because they got screwed by other nations and the number of drug dealers have fallen every single [2:22:50] month since i took office drug dealers are way down in the united states and that's a small version of [2:22:58] what's sitting right there that's just a small version we took a country that was dead and it's the hottest [2:23:06] country in the world right now and that's after one year so let's go [2:23:20] please yeah thank you so much mr president uh i have two questions for you one do you want [2:23:26] uh your board of peace to replace the u.n now well my i mean the u.n just hasn't been very helpful [2:23:33] i'm a big fan of the u.n potential but it has never lived up to its potential the u.n should have [2:23:40] settled every one of the wars that i settled i never went to them i never even thought to go to them [2:23:46] they should be able to settle those wars they don't i i believe you got to let the u.n continue because [2:23:52] uh the potential is so great uh the potential is uh the potential is uh the potential is so great [2:23:57] you invited lula from brazil to be part of the board of peace [2:24:01] i did what role do you i did to play especially venezuela yeah and another one because they are you from [2:24:09] brazil yes the eu and america sur just signed a trade agreement this weekend which is going to be the [2:24:16] the biggest uh trade zone free zone in the world uh at the moment you are talking a lot about tariffs [2:24:23] what is your reaction to that so two questions well i look i just think this i think we have [2:24:29] trade like we've never had before we're doing better in trade than we ever have before we're not [2:24:33] being ripped off by every country in the world like we were before we're doing we're doing numbers [2:24:40] that nobody's ever thought possible we're the richest we ever were it's because of tariffs and the proper [2:24:46] use of tariffs and we're also the most secure as an example iceland without tariffs they wouldn't [2:24:52] even be talking to us about it so we'll see what happens i think it's going to work out quite [2:24:58] right behind thank you mr president how would you characterize your relationship with emmanuel [2:25:02] macron and keir starmer right now and have you spoken to them since your true social post no i haven't [2:25:07] but i think i get along very well with them i mean they they always treat me well they get a little bit [2:25:13] rough when they're you know when i'm not around but when i'm around they treat me very nicely [2:25:19] and you know i like both of them they're both liberal they've got to straighten out their countries [2:25:26] you can't you know london is having a lot of problems and if you look at paris got a lot of [2:25:31] problems they have two problems immigration and energy they got to stop with the windmills and they got [2:25:38] to go back like uh uk has an unbelievable asset called the north sea norway uses it makes a fortune [2:25:47] they have a better section of it and they don't do it they could straighten out their countries and [2:25:51] it would be good but i get along very well you uh told norway's prime minister are you from norway [2:25:58] no you look like she's from norway go ahead uh you told norway's prime minister that you not winning [2:26:06] the nobel peace prize made you feel less obligated to think purely of peace well i lost a lot of [2:26:12] respect for norway and i believe and i believe very strongly that norway controls the nobel prize [2:26:18] you have to understand i settled eight wars i've had uh every one of those wars every participant wrote [2:26:25] i didn't ask them to do it they sent in strong recommend you know they make recommendations for [2:26:30] that but i settled eight was no president's probably ever settled one war i don't know think of it [2:26:35] i did eight the reason i do it is because it's easy for me to do and i didn't do it for a nobel [2:26:41] prize i did it because i'm saving a lot of lives i'm trying to sell the final one i'm trying to do russia [2:26:46] ukraine and when russia is ready ukraine's done when ukraine's ready russia's done but they're losing 25 000 [2:26:54] people a month on average and i'm trying to get that one done but no i feel but i feel that [2:27:00] norway has tremendous control over who gets to know the nobel prize despite what they say [2:27:06] how far are you willing to go to acquire green you'll find out [2:27:13] thank you mr president kevin has said has said that those two thousand dollar tariff rebate checks [2:27:20] would be up to congress to decide whether or not to disperse that [2:27:24] do you agree with kevin has said on that or do you think you can do that unilaterally [2:27:27] i don't i don't think we would have to go to congress out but you know we'll find out [2:27:32] the reason we're even talking about it is that we have so much money coming in from tariffs that [2:27:37] we'll be able to issue at least a two thousand dollar dividend and also pay down debt for the country [2:27:43] but we do a two thousand dollar dividend to the people of our country would probably set a limit of [2:27:48] you know income limit uh where it made sense but uh we will be able to make a very substantial [2:27:55] dividend to the people of our country uh i believe we can do that without [2:28:03] last night on truth social um you said that the british plan to hand the base of diego garcia [2:28:08] over to mauritius and then rent it back was an act of great stupidity previously you backed that deal [2:28:14] is it now your position that the deal should not go ahead i think that they you know when they [2:28:18] originally were going to do it they were talking about doing some concept of ownership but now [2:28:23] they're looking to essentially just do a lease and sell it and i'm against that you know it's a [2:28:29] reasonably nothing like greenland but it's a reasonably important uh area of the globe [2:28:35] not to anywhere near greenland but i think they should keep it i don't know why they're doing do they need [2:28:41] money thank you mr president uh with your support to the syrian government most probably you avoided [2:28:49] another civil war and a bloodshed in syria especially after the fall i did a good job [2:28:55] i did a good job the syrian government the last two weeks uh had to use some force [2:29:02] to to implement its force on uh specific areas and with your to keep the prisoners the terrorist [2:29:09] prisoners which are some of the worst in the world at bay so they they were able to keep that [2:29:15] he's working very hard the president of syria is working very very hard strong guy tough guy [2:29:22] pretty rough resume but you're not going to put a choir boy in there and you know get the job done [2:29:29] i spoke with him yesterday because we were talking about the prisons and you know what was going on we [2:29:33] have some of the worst terrorists in the world in those prisons [2:29:36] and he's watching [2:29:39] mr president gavin newsom is going to be at davos if he's not already there [2:29:43] you're probably going to run into him i presume that this is for him to raise his platform for [2:29:47] 2028 but what do you anticipate his foreign policy platform is going to be i don't know i mean i don't [2:29:53] know that he's going to be the nominee i i know this i had a very good relationship with gavin [2:29:58] newsom when we were you know in office together i was president he was the governor of california we had a [2:30:04] really he would talk about it often and somewhere we just went astray i just i just hate the way [2:30:11] california is being run we actually have people leaving it's never happened before but i hate the [2:30:17] way it's being run he and i had a very good relationship that really uh close close to the [2:30:23] word exceptional but now uh we seem not to thank you president president you spoke earlier mr [2:30:31] president you're out you've been hearing from allies thank you thank you so much president [2:30:35] trump cara castanova from lindell tv and you spoke earlier about the 2020 election uh now that uh maduro [2:30:42] maduro is in u.s custody and he was criminally charged has any more information emerged that you [2:30:47] could share with us regarding venezuelan election software and venezuelan ties to tampering with the [2:30:52] 2020 election and would you consider speaking to maduro personally in prison uh in new york to get some [2:30:59] answers on venezuelan involvement with the 2020 election no i don't think i would be doing that [2:31:03] i think my lawyers would be very unhappy yeah they've learned they've learned some things [2:31:09] what happens to the tariff threat to greenland if the supreme court comes out and rules against you [2:31:15] on the tariffs and well i'll have to use something else i mean look you know take a look at the word [2:31:20] license take a look at other things i mean we have other alternatives but the what we're doing now is [2:31:25] the best the strongest the fastest the easiest the least complicated [2:31:32] if you move ahead um with the greenland related tariffs on europe you secured almost a trillion [2:31:38] dollars of commitments from them to invest in the united states does that go kaput out the window [2:31:43] if that happens uh i doubt it look they want to they need happens uh i doubt it look they want to they [2:31:49] need that agreement very badly with us they really do they they fought very hard to get it so i doubt that [2:31:55] but we'll see what happens we have a lot of meetings scheduled on greenland i'm leaving tonight as you [2:32:01] know davos and we have a lot of meetings scheduled on greenland and i think things are going to work [2:32:07] out pretty well actually thank you mr president will you still go to paris for the g7 emergency meeting [2:32:17] as offered by president macron no i wouldn't do that because you know emmanuel emmanuel's not [2:32:27] going to be there very long and you know there's no longevity there he's a friend of mine he's a [2:32:33] nice guy i like macron but but he's not he's not going to be there very much longer as you know and [2:32:39] i think you know i have meetings with the people that are directly involved not uh some of the people [2:32:44] you're talking thank you so much thank you so much mr president i've never seen this room like this [2:32:54] is this a celebration of the first year have you ever seen it i've never seen this many i hope we [2:33:02] have a very good i hope we have a very good structural floor you know this used to be a swimming [2:33:07] pool you're sitting over a swimming pool i could see that happening but this we need a good structure [2:33:13] here don't we have yeah thank you so much mr president happy one year anniversary thank you [2:33:18] and my question is sorry on syria the kurds as the most loyal u.s partners facing attacks by some [2:33:25] syrian elements within the syrian government will you do to ensure the kurdish rights protected on [2:33:30] their effective forces against terrorism in rojava syria continue as the kurdish see you as a president [2:33:36] does not abandon his allies well i like the kurds but just so you understand the kurds were paid [2:33:41] tremendous amounts of money were given oil and other things so they were doing it for themselves more so [2:33:47] than they were doing it for us but we got along with the kurds and we are trying to protect the [2:33:51] kurds that's correct speech in davos can you give us a preview of what we can expect as far as you know [2:33:58] laying out the plans for americans to be able to buy homes i think more than anything else what i'm going [2:34:03] to be speaking about is the tremendous success that we've had in one year i didn't think we could do it [2:34:07] this fast uh think of it it's just now 12 months and you know i say it often we have the most successful [2:34:15] country in the world we have the hottest country anywhere in the world by far and this country [2:34:19] would have been absolutely stone cold dead uh and i'm going to be talking about it i'm going to be [2:34:25] because you know i a lot of them could use some of the advice as to what we did they need energy that [2:34:31] you take a look at their energy policy they're going to destroy themselves with what they're doing [2:34:35] with the windmills and all the nonsense they need energy help badly or they're going to be in big [2:34:42] trouble and they need immigration help badly how much longer do you want to go yes well call it i [2:34:49] do also i have i have a very i have a very important call with president erdogan who i like [2:35:00] who i like a lot all right one or one or two more questions thank you mr president [2:35:15] the red blouse go ahead you talked a lot at the beginning of this about the economy some positive [2:35:21] economic indicators polling shows the majority of americans don't feel the economy is doing well [2:35:27] are you worried you're making the same mistake as president biden no i hope i don't make the same [2:35:31] mistake as him look i inherited a terrible i mean it's a great question because we inherited a terrible [2:35:38] terrible mess uh between the border between all the problems the whole country was falling apart [2:35:44] and in 12 months less than 12 months i mean in 12 months we have the strongest border we've ever had [2:35:50] we have prices that are much much lower than they were for the last time we inherited very high [2:35:56] prices we inherited remember this inflation was at a historic high we had never had inflation like [2:36:03] that they say 48 years but whether it's 48 years or ever we had the highest inflation in my opinion [2:36:10] that we've ever had prices because of that were very high i inherited we brought down eggs immediately [2:36:17] remember the first news conference they were screaming at me about eggs i was in the position [2:36:21] for two days and they're squint we brought eggs down to lower than what they were before and by the way [2:36:27] they continue that way we brought the prices down from when i came into office and from what biden had [2:36:33] way down we're going to bring them down further but the job we did is is a miracle one of the reasons [2:36:39] i'm doing this today is to explain we inherited a mess and we've made it a beautiful beautiful picture [2:36:47] think of gasoline at a dollar 99 in many states one dollar and 99 cents a gallon it was four fifty [2:36:55] five dollars in some cases six or seven dollars we're at a dollar ninety nine and energy is so big [2:37:02] that with energy everything else comes down but the prices are coming way down and uh they're gonna [2:37:09] we're gonna bring them down further but we started up here with these guys we inherited a country that was [2:37:14] broken we inherited a country and i said i have a very warm spot we've done very well with venezuela [2:37:21] and and by the way that even in itself is going to help us bring down the oil prices and the venezuelan [2:37:28] oil we've taken 50 billion 50 million gallons of oil we've taken 50 million barrels of oil out of [2:37:38] venezuela venezuela in the first four days we've got millions of barrels of oil left we're selling it [2:37:47] on the open market we're bringing down oil prices incredibly and when they come down and they've [2:37:52] already come down again one dollar and 99 cents a gallon for oil nobody thought they'd ever see it all [2:38:00] one or two more yes i want to ask you about iran is a military option still on the table and can you [2:38:14] assure us that the killing is in iran has stopped and wonder when we got to your peace council which [2:38:19] members have to pay one so with iran are you from iran no i covered the white house where are you from [2:38:25] i'm palestinian american so with iran they were going to hang 837 people and i let them be known that [2:38:33] and we let them know that if that happens that will be a very bad day for them and they decided [2:38:39] not to do it they didn't hang the people i can't tell you what's going to happen in the future but [2:38:43] supposedly they've taken that off the table but they were going to last week they were going to hang on [2:38:48] thursday or wednesday one they were going to hang i think 837 people and they didn't hang anybody so [2:38:58] we're just going to have to see what happens with iran is the military option [2:39:01] thank you mr president president trump thank you president thank you mr president go ahead i'll [2:39:14] take your question okay thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you mr president um [2:39:18] you promised during your second inaugural to always put america first i'm curious how would you winning [2:39:24] the nobel peace prize improve the lives of average everyday americans why is this price so important [2:39:30] it wouldn't uh improve the lives of any what what improved the lives of people are people that are [2:39:36] living i saved probably tens of millions of lives in the wars you know if you add up the numbers just [2:39:43] just if you look at uh if you look at any one of those wars you're talking about millions of people [2:39:48] you multiply times eight but when you look at india and pakistan that could have been 10 15 20 [2:39:54] million people could have been more than that so i saved millions of people so that to me is the big [2:39:59] thing suggested a moment ago that perhaps the reason why a positive story about the economy isn't getting [2:40:08] through it was because of you know bad communications people but are average americans wrong to still [2:40:15] feel high prices and how much longer does the white house hope that they so i think a lot of people a lot [2:40:20] of people are listening to the fake news a little bit and i'm not blaming anybody i think i i blame [2:40:26] ourselves i think we've done a much better job than we're able to promote we're not promoting we're [2:40:31] doing a great job and we're sort of letting the promotion take care of itself one of the reasons i'm [2:40:36] doing this news conference i think it's important we have taken a mess and made it really good it's [2:40:42] going to get even better but if you look at prices from a year or a year and a half ago you look at the [2:40:48] biden prices they were way up through the sky and you know they use the word affordability they just say [2:40:55] affordability and they don't talk about it they created the affordability problem and we have we [2:41:01] are solving it we have solved a lot of it again everybody agrees in this room i think gasoline [2:41:07] prices have come per gallon way down when that happens everything else comes down but they've come [2:41:12] down way down uh many of the groceries have come way down it's all happening and it's happening strong [2:41:19] but if you go back a year a year and a half two years take a look at those prices and look at the prices [2:41:24] down you made that condition where are you from i'm from spain um thank you uh you made a condition [2:41:39] that uh the political prisoners should be freed it seems that they are not being as fast as they [2:41:44] promised in the beginning would that be an issue for the current government they've agreed that they're [2:41:49] going to let uh i guess most of them out depends on what they did but they have released a lot of [2:41:55] they have a lot released a lot of political prisoners in venezuela earlier on last year [2:42:03] you had mentioned you had indicated that you want to take back the panama canal i know we've [2:42:08] looked we've heard a lot about greenland is that still on the table i don't want to tell you that [2:42:12] sort of i might i must say sort of that's sort of okay one more uh yes blonde blue yes go ahead ma'am [2:42:27] go ahead with the blue holding the computer if a consequence of your determination to take control [2:42:36] of greenland is the ultimate breakup of the nato alliance is that a price you're willing to pay [2:42:40] uh you mean the breakup of of it's very interesting so i think something's going to happen that's [2:42:47] going to be very good for everybody nobody's done more for nato than i have as i said before [2:42:55] uh in every way getting them to go up to five percent of gdp was something that nobody thought [2:43:03] was and pay at two percent they weren't paying at five percent they are paying and they're buying a [2:43:09] lot of things from us and they're giving them i guess to ukraine that's up to them but they're [2:43:13] giving them to whoever they're giving them to but they're buying a lot uh i think that we will work [2:43:19] something out when nato is going to be very happy and where we're going to be very happy but we need [2:43:24] it for security purposes we need it for national security and even world security it's very important [2:43:30] you told me that you believe that the reason you won election is because god put you in this place [2:43:39] so you that you could save the world looking back one year do you feel like god is proud of the effort [2:43:45] that you've played i do actually i think god is very proud of the job i've done and that includes for [2:43:49] religion you know we're protecting a lot of people that are being killed christians jewish people and [2:43:57] lots of people are being protected by me that wouldn't be protected by another type of president [2:44:02] no i think uh i think a lot of people are very proud of the job we've done we've had an amazing year [2:44:07] this has been one of the greatest years even some people that wouldn't necessarily love me [2:44:13] instinctively they're saying this was an incredible year we've had an incredible year economically [2:44:18] uh look at our border our border was a disaster people poor it was an invasion into our country [2:44:26] of a lot of very bad people good people too but a lot of very bad people from prisons and [2:44:32] drug dealers and gangs and horrible people murderers thousands and thousands of murders allowed into [2:44:39] our country and we now have the strongest border of any country there's probably not a country i [2:44:45] guess north korea has a pretty strong border by the way but there's not a country in the world that [2:44:50] has a border like we do and we took it from the worst part we had the worst border in the world now we [2:44:55] have one of the strongest borders you said you're called something's going to get worked out in [2:45:04] greenland but greenlanders have made it clear they don't want to be part of the u.s well i haven't [2:45:08] i haven't right to take away that self-determination when i speak to them i'm sure they'll be thrilled [2:45:17] mr president are you committed to keeping the u.s in nato i've i've had a such a good relationship [2:45:23] i've made it so much better so much stronger it's so good now nato is so much stronger now [2:45:28] uh i don't agree with a lot of the things they've done but that was done before i got there uh i think [2:45:36] nato's been uh good sometimes it's overrated sometimes it's not but we have a strong nato [2:45:41] uh when i came here we had a weak data we had a nato at two percent and they weren't paying you had a [2:45:47] nothing nato uh nato's whether you like it or not it's only as good as we are if nato doesn't have us [2:45:55] nato is not very strong thank you president trump yes go ahead greatly appreciate it sir [2:46:08] we've heard a long list of accomplishments from the last year could you cherry pick the top three [2:46:13] and then looking forward what are your three most important priorities of 2026 so i think the building [2:46:18] of a really powerful military has been a great achievement and that would include the venezuela [2:46:22] thing that would include uh the attack on iran and the wiping out of the nuclear threat i think [2:46:29] that's been really amazing what we've done militarily i think what we've done in business [2:46:35] has been incredible we have 18 trillion dollars coming in plants are being built all over the [2:46:39] thousands of plants are being built all over the country 18 trillion is a record no country has ever [2:46:45] come anywhere even close to that i think that's a record and i think uh that uh most favored nations [2:46:51] for drugs is something that nobody thought they'd be able to get tariffs helped me there because the [2:46:57] nations would have never gone along with it if i wasn't able to say if you don't go along with it [2:47:02] we're going to put a 10 or 15 or 20 tariff on your nation and they went along and our drug prices are [2:47:08] going to come down at numbers never even seen before never even thought possible before so those would [2:47:13] be three things thank you thank you president trump thanking the reporters there in the white house [2:47:25] briefing room on his way out the door after about an hour and 45 minutes in there you heard a lot of it [2:47:30] right here on nbc news he's been taking questions for maybe the last 20 30 minutes or so marking the [2:47:35] first year of his second term in office here the president running through what he sees as a list of [2:47:41] accomplishments in year one and also in taking some questions making some news as well on a couple of [2:47:46] topics from venezuela of course to greenland as you heard there the president not ruling out not [2:47:52] putting anything on or off the table for what he would do when it comes to trying to take or get or perhaps [2:47:59] buy that danish territory the president also facing a number of questions on the economy as well [2:48:05] given of course the tariffs put in place over the course of his first year and the way that many [2:48:10] americans say they feel about the economy new polling suggests that a majority of voters do not feel [2:48:16] like president trump has done enough to get their everyday prices down as was one of his campaign [2:48:21] pledges on the campaign trail and you heard the president talk about that uh touting the stock market [2:48:26] which has hit record highs during his first year in office too uh in the room for all of it every [2:48:31] minute of it was our nbc news senior white house correspondent garrett hake he is joining us now and [2:48:35] garrett uh there's a lot there's a lot on this front from foreign policy to the economic and the [2:48:41] president going back and forth there with reporters in the room yeah that's right i think the overall [2:48:46] piece of this hallie is the president uh boasting about a first year so good even the lord above would [2:48:51] be proud he said of his achievements so far in talking mostly uh in the question and answer portion [2:48:57] about foreign policy seeming if i read it correctly to turn down the temperature a little bit after [2:49:03] comments over the last several days suggesting that a rift could be coming with nato with european [2:49:07] allies over greenland he's going to have a series of meetings while he's in davos switzerland [2:49:11] when he leaves tonight and that people will ultimately be happy with the results uh being a [2:49:17] little bit hard to pin down on nato but mostly speaking positively about the alliance and about [2:49:22] in his view his own effect on it on domestic priorities it is befitting a president who ran [2:49:28] almost uh with a heavy focus on immigration we saw a heavy focus on immigration today including [2:49:33] the president flipping through uh headshots of people whom he says his administration has arrested [2:49:38] in minnesota alone and talking about the importance of reversing previous administrations border policies [2:49:45] getting control of the border talking about his belief and uh fraud and criminality of illegal immigrants [2:49:51] across the country as being uh one of his biggest achievements on questions specifically about [2:49:56] affordability and the economy there you saw a little bit of slippage i think perhaps from the president [2:50:02] where he was asked very pointedly uh whether his approach of basically telling americans the economy is [2:50:08] good when they don't feel it is any different from president biden's his argument here is that the his [2:50:13] administration is making progress where the biden administration didn't he loves to point to gas [2:50:17] prices as kind of a singular economic indicator and to the stock market which is up of course over the [2:50:23] course of the last year uh but happens to be down today with a lot of concern about the tariff [2:50:28] threats going back and forth across the atlantic that's right and natural gas today ticking up too uh [2:50:33] garrett hake uh with that lengthy marathon uh news conference from president trump there as you're [2:50:39] right garrett he's heading to davos more to come on that front in the hours and in the days ahead [2:50:44] thank you pal that concludes our special report here on nbc news i'll see you right back here at [2:50:48] five o'clock eastern for our show nbc news daily continues right now you said kate i think all of us can
