[0:00] Good to see you again. So you had a huge rally last night with Bernie and AOC. I want to play [0:05] something you said at this rally in Detroit last night. Are we going to let 50 million in lies [0:12] steal this election? Trump donors, billionaires, and AIPAC lies steal this election? [0:27] Steal this election is a pretty stark term. I haven't really heard it used since 2024. [0:33] To be clear, this is a close race. Congresswoman Haley Stevens is a four-term congresswoman [0:38] endorsed by outgoing Senator Gary Peters. Are you saying that if you don't win this election, [0:43] it will be because it was stolen? Is that what he's saying, Jake? Okay, so yesterday, [0:48] Jake Tapper interviewed the Michigan Senate candidate, Abdul El-Sayed. But as you just saw, [0:54] Tapper seemed much more concerned about El-Sayed's language there instead of the tsunami of outside [1:00] spending that is coming into this race. And before we get to El-Sayed's response, you should know this, [1:05] APAC and its affiliated groups have spent close to $30 million backing Haley Stevens. [1:12] And that is their largest investment ever in a single race. Stevens has spent $1 million on [1:17] advertising, but her backers have spent $50 million. And most voters are unlikely to realize many of the [1:25] ads blanketing Michigan's airwaves are funded by APAC. They never mention Israel, instead highlighting [1:31] Stevens' work on manufacturing and featuring former President Barack Obama. [1:36] And Was, this Obama thing was crazy. They put him in there, insinuating that he was supportive [1:43] of Haley Stevens, that he even endorsed her maybe. And a lot of black Americans in that district said, [1:49] yeah, I was gonna vote for her because it looked like Obama liked her. But Obama has never endorsed [1:53] this candidate. And so it's very misleading, very intentionally misleading. What are your thoughts there? [1:59] I mean, again, it speaks to the complete and utter lack of good feeling towards Israel that AIPAC knows. [2:09] They can't mention Israel in their ads because it's toxic. You don't want, [2:14] like they can't publicly affiliate their preferred candidates with their cause. [2:21] That's like kind of all you need to know about how toxic everything around Israel is, particularly [2:29] for people who identify as Democrats. And so, yeah, it's not surprising. You can't win if you stick [2:36] the Israel tag on somebody in a Democratic primary. So they gotta do all this underhanded, [2:42] you know, smoke and mirrors tactics in order to defeat Al-Sayed. So again, [2:54] like the sheer amount of money that is being dumped in this and then, you know, you'll get guys like [2:59] Jake Tapper to be like, well, you know, foreign countries are all trying to influence our stuff. [3:04] Like there's no comparison. It's like by orders of magnitude more, the amount of money that gets [3:10] poured in. Yeah, we know, you know, the Saudis try to influence Congress and we know the Emiratis [3:15] try to do it. I mean, in New York, the Turks were paying Eric Adams and plane tickets. Like we know [3:22] other countries try to influence our politicians, we get that. But the degree to which, you know, [3:30] the Israeli government and their marketing machine works is nuts. You can't compare it to anything [3:37] else. Yeah, I mean, it's just like what we were just talking about. They're going out of their way [3:43] to really spread this message. And like the self awareness that they're exerting by not mentioning [3:48] Israel, as you pointed out, it's so telling. Like they know that they have bad PR right now, [3:54] except it's not PR. It's just that we can see for the first time what it is that you're actually doing. [4:00] And we can hear the things that they say about their goals in the region and about how they feel [4:04] about people who are not Jewish or who are not Israeli specifically. So all the money that is going [4:11] into this race against Abdul El-Sayed is very, very telling. So let's hear how he responded to Jake [4:16] Tapper. I believe in the rigor of the democratic process, Jake. But I also believe that the corruption [4:21] of billionaire money, AIPAC money to the tune of $50 million being spent is anti-democratic on its own [4:27] terms. If you were to take all the outside spending in this race out, this would not be a [4:31] close election. But it speaks to the way that unfortunately money from DTE, our local utility, [4:37] money from Blue Cross Blue Shield, money from AIPAC has come in to try to truck this election [4:42] in favor of somebody who they know is going to do their business instead of the people's. And [4:46] I think that's anti-democratic on its own terms. It's why I'm running on getting money out of politics [4:50] so we can put money back in people's pockets and pass Medicare for all. Okay, so that sounds [4:55] like a pretty good response to me. He didn't say that he thinks that everything is rigged like [5:01] Jake Tapper tried to insinuate. He just said there is a ton of outside money flowing into this campaign, [5:07] and that alone should be worthy of note, right? Jake Tapper, however, he wasn't done. [5:14] He had more. Here's what he had to say. So the attacks on Haley Stevens are also at issue. [5:19] I know there are a lot of attack ads against you, but there are so many attacks on Haley Stevens [5:23] that on Friday you posted, quote, it's become impossible to ignore the way that people online [5:28] make fun of my opponent for things that have nothing to do with her policies or politics. [5:32] It's unkind and unhelpful, unquote. It's true that there are some really harsh comments [5:37] about Haley Stevens that I've seen. Here's one, quote, she's a suit with a large AIPAC [5:42] bank account, that's it. She can't strings together two coherent sentences. [5:46] She's a sellout who forgot how to think for herself. Corporate money can't buy her a personality. [5:51] Do you know who said that? That was you and your campaign. [5:56] And I wanna speak to that because every single time we talk about all the outside money coming [6:01] in as a crutch in this election, it seems as though we're not hearing any explanation as to why. [6:06] I think we saw some of it last week when the congresswoman voted in favor of sending $3.3 [6:10] billion of our tax dollars that should be spent on our healthcare and our schools to a foreign [6:15] government to buy bombs and tanks. I would really like to hear a fulsome explanation of exactly [6:20] what the tradeoff has been. And unfortunately, $50 million doesn't fall off trees, [6:24] doesn't come from nowhere. It comes because there's been some expectation on the back. [6:28] Yeah, and everything he said was right. She can't string together two sentences. It's [6:34] very uncomfortable to watch her speak. And I'm not running for anything, so I feel like I can say that. [6:39] I'm also not a voting person in Michigan, but they're all thinking it, right? Well, the interview [6:46] went on, El Sayed grew visibly impatient when Jake Tapper suggested that he is not sufficiently tough [6:53] on the late Ayatollah of Iran, very specific. I don't know what that has to do with the people [6:59] of Michigan who just want healthcare, but here's the clip. The war with Iran is clearly heating up. [7:04] Three US service members, well, two were killed and one is missing overnight. They were stationed in [7:09] Jordan. 20 weeks ago when Iran's supreme leader was killed, you told your staff according to audio [7:15] obtained by the Washington Free Beacon, quote, there are a lot of people in Dearborn who are sad today. [7:19] So I just don't want to comment on Khamenei at all, unquote. I thought that quote was interesting [7:25] because the Ayatollah has killed tens of thousands of innocent Iranians, not to mention the proxies [7:33] that Iran has funded that have killed innocent civilians all over the Middle East. [7:37] Why were you worried about offending people who support the Ayatollah? [7:42] Jake, on a day where we're mourning the loss of two more service members in a war we never [7:46] should have fought, I think all of us ought to step back and ask whether or not everybody in Michigan, [7:50] frankly, everybody in America shouldn't be sad about the fact that this president, [7:54] backed by the prime minister of a foreign government, took us to a war we had no business fighting in. [8:00] So yeah, I didn't want to comment on it then because it's a ridiculous pretext. And now you're asking me [8:04] about the Ayatollah who's dead by the way. And you're not asking me about the service members [8:08] who've died. You're not asking me about whether or not this war should have ever been fought. [8:11] You're not asking me about whether or not the costs that are being borne by Michiganders in [8:16] the tax dollars we pay or the gas prices that are insane right now are worth it. [8:21] And so look, let's have a conversation based in Michigan. I'm running for Senate in Michigan. [8:24] And I think here in Michigan, all of us are probably sad about the fact that we went to war that we never [8:29] should have fought. Yeah, I like that he brought it back to Michigan there. And it seems I'm not [8:36] trying to take credit away from Abdullah Syed, but that is a very similar play to what Mamdani did, [8:43] right? They kept asking him about Israel. They kept asking about Iran. He said, I'm running for the [8:47] mayor to be the mayor of New York City. So I'm going to speak to issues that are important to the people [8:52] of New York City. In Michigan, with this race, it's a Senate race. So there is a degree of, [8:59] they're going to have to vote on these types of things. But at the end of the day, you're there to [9:03] represent the people of your state. And this question, I also loved was that he pointed out [9:09] that this Ayatollah is dead, the one that Jake Tapper is pressing him on. Can we move on? [9:14] Can we talk about the actual issues? Because this is what we need to be talking about. [9:18] And we also need to be talking about all this outside influence that is flowing into this race [9:22] and why that is happening. What are your thoughts? I mean, it's dumbfounding, [9:29] dude. Listening to Jake Tapper talk about innocent civilians being killed. [9:36] Really? Are we going to apply that standard across the board to other leaders of certain other [9:45] countries? It's nuts. The idea that you guys give a damn about civilian deaths. [9:55] It's absolutely insane. And then it ignores the fact and look, everybody who watches TYT knows my [10:04] stance on over religiosity. I think it's crap. I think we'd be a better society without it. [10:11] However, that doesn't ignore the fact that the Supreme Leader is seen as a religious figure, [10:19] a religious leader, okay? So if there are Shia Muslims in Michigan and who see this guy as one of [10:29] their religious leaders and this guy who's courting their vote doesn't think he should go out and [10:35] celebrate his freaking brutal death and assassination. I mean, give me a break, dude. [10:42] Just the idea that Jake, the Ayatollah is responsible for tens of thousands as his proxies. Shut up. [10:50] Jake Tapper is just plain stupid right there. It also didn't accomplish anything really. [10:58] They killed the Ayatollah. Good job. They have a new one. They already have a new Ayatollah. [11:03] So that's what I'm saying. What was he supposed to do? Yeah, let's do it. We killed the Ayatollah. [11:10] We started a war. This is nuts. Yeah, and it's true. The average American [11:17] is more concerned. Yes, I don't want to see the loss of life. I don't want to see all that [11:21] destruction over there. I don't know why we're doing this. I'm confused as to why [11:25] all of this money needs to be spent over there. All of my money needs to be spent over there. [11:29] All of my money now needs to be given to the military industrial complex so we can do war [11:34] in Iran for reasons that they will not tell us. He's absolutely right that the people of this [11:39] country we're not trying to celebrate anything that's going on over there. [11:44] Not even in solidarity with our military because what are we celebrating? [11:49] And even if we killed the Ayatollah, what difference has it made? There's a new Ayatollah, [11:55] okay? Nothing has functionally changed over there. They tell us the war is over. [11:59] It's still going on. People are over this. And as a senator, he's gonna have to [12:04] to vote on issues like this. And I would hope that there's at least one senator [12:09] somewhere in the country because this does affect me even down here in Texas. [12:12] I want there to be more senators who are going to say things like this out loud and [12:17] then vote accordingly because I know I can't rely on either of my Texas senators to do that. [12:23] You know what I mean? So I'm looking at people like Abdul El-Sayed [12:26] to have a voice somewhere in this country. So any final thoughts before we go to our first break? [12:33] I know there's a lot of hand wringing about the Ellison's just buying up media. [12:41] You know, owning CBS 60 minutes, blah, blah, blah. They're about to get the Warner contract so that [12:47] they'll own CNN, CNN could die tomorrow. I'll be happy to see it. If I never have to see Jake Tapper, [12:55] Dana Bash speak ever again, kill that thing. Now, it's useless. We don't need it in our discourse. [13:03] We don't need these hacks anymore. We got stuff like TYT, we got Sateo, we got breaking points. [13:10] We got all kinds of other stuff. We don't need these jokers anymore. [13:14] Yeah, and it seems a lot of Americans are starting to look at other sources outside. [13:19] The problem is a lot of them don't realize the things that they're not getting reported to [13:24] about like the things that they don't know. They don't know what they don't know. [13:27] They just think that that is the news and that's it, then that's all there is. [13:31] But a lot of people are finding other sources and that is encouraging. [13:35] Every time you ring the bell below, an angel gets his swings. Totally not true, [13:39] but it does keep you updated on our live shows.
