[00:00:00] Speaker 1: In this video, I'm going to show you how to start your own toy business from home for less than $250. Now, before we start, make sure you like and subscribe. Also, be sure to join the 3D Printing Side Hustle group on Facebook. That's where we talk, shop, and exchange ideas about starting your own 3D printing business. So, are you looking for a fun business to get into? Are you a kid at heart? Do you love toys? Why not start your own toy business? It's super fun and a lot easier than you think. You can easily make $1,000 a month doing it. Don't believe me? Ask Jason from Episode 31, who makes $3,500 a month from toys. And Bill from Episode 3, who makes $3,000 a month. Or Luke from Episode 30, who also makes $3,000 a month. You can check out the episodes in the channel. And not only that, you can do all of this from home. Yup, it's a lucrative side hustle and an amazing source of income. Do you have a side hustle yet? If not, then this could be a good one for you. There's really just three steps to starting your own toy business from home. The first thing you need to do is buy a 3D printer. No, they're not that expensive anymore. Matter of fact, you can get one for less than $200. You're going to want a medium-sized printer for these. Not something super big, but big enough to produce a good-sized toy. Here's the printers that I want to use. The Ender 3 is $189. It has an 8.5 x 8.5 x 10 inch build volume. The Ender 3 is an amazing starter printer. A lot of people have these. Plus, Creality has a lot of cheap parts. If something does break later, you can easily replace it. Plus, for $189, that is a steal. The CR10 is 12 inches x 12 inches x 16 inches. This one is $360. Now, it's a little bit more expensive, but because it's also a much bigger printer. It's also by Creality, so the parts are cheap if something does break. They're amazing machines right out of the box. Highly suggest you guys get these. The Elegoo Neptune is $200. Just like the Ender 3, it also has an 8.5 x 8.5 x 10 inch build volume. These things print amazingly. Highly, highly recommended. The links to buy these are in the description below. You then want to start looking for the digital assets to print these toys. The 3D printer can't make what it doesn't know how to. So, you have to teach the printer how to make the toy. That's where the 3D printing file comes in. There are a bunch of designers that already sell licenses for the toys that they design. These guys allow you to sell the prints from the files that they create. And these files are really cool, you guys. They have dragons, knights, robots, you name it. And they're coming out with more and more stuff every single month. One of these companies is Creature Crate. They have all kinds of things that you guys can print and sell. And it's only $10 a month. What a deal, right? Another cool membership is Cinderwing 3D and the Flexi Factory. The links for these are also in the description below. You can also start designing your own toys. If you're a creative person and want to start designing your own toys, you can definitely do so. You can use free programs like Blender or Fusion 360 and start designing them. If you don't know how to design stuff, you can take the Blender at 14 Days course where it teaches you how to 3D model in Blender. You'll learn stuff like sculpting, modeling, and other helpful stuff to get you started on designing your own toys. There's actually a partner that teaches you how to design your own toys. Now the next thing you do, after you have the files for the toys, is buy great-looking filament. See, the filament is like the ink of the machine. And the filament is going to do a lot of the heavy lifting. I suggest getting the Amolin Silk Blends. I love their colors. They have silver and blue, blue and green, red and silver, etc, etc. These colors are incredible, you guys, and they're perfect for toys. You can find the links to buy these in the description below. Now, one spool of this filament can make you 4 to 6 toys depending on size. And one toy can sell for about 20 to 30 bucks, which about covers the cost of the filament. So at minimum, you can 5x your profits with just one spool of filament. Alright, now you have a little mini toy factory at home. You have a steady stream of products that you can sell at huge margins. Are you ready? Because this is where the hustle part comes in. Go to a local event every month, at least once a month. See, just because you have a product doesn't mean people are going to buy it. You have to go out there and sell it. So how do you do that? You want to go to a place where your ideal customers are going to be. So, if you can find a toy convention, that would be perfect. Conventions are everywhere nowadays. There's a convention for everything. You can find them happening at their closest major city. The cost to have a booth at these places can range from free, to 10 bucks, to a few hundred, to even thousands. But the bigger the fee, the bigger the event, and the better the location. And the bigger the event, the more people that will be there. And the more people that will be there, the better your chances are for success. Now, once you've started making an income from your conventions, you can also start selling online. Via Etsy, Facebook Marketplace, and or eBay. So, there you have it. $189 for a 3D printer, $37 for the filament, and 10 bucks a month for the files, for the grand total of $236. And now, you have your own toy business from home. So, start hustling, you guys. We'll see you next time.
