"gentlemen the end of another long long week in australia but i do have my new kmart meta glasses on so jerry would you put on some bloody clothes mate it's embarrassing yeah yeah i'm here carl yeah yeah i'm fully dressed i hate to disappoint you mate but uh yeah it's uh and i'm certainly not taking"
[00:00:00] Speaker 1: gentlemen the end of another long long week in australia but i do have my new kmart meta glasses on so jerry would you put on some bloody clothes mate it's embarrassing
[00:00:16] Speaker 2: yeah yeah i'm here carl yeah yeah i'm fully dressed i hate to disappoint you mate but uh yeah it's uh and i'm certainly not taking them off with the cameras that's for sure
[00:00:29] Speaker 3: isaac what about that yarn hey the uh the meta glasses people are upset people are very upset kmart or big w or one of these beautiful retail stores that i frequent uh they're selling cheaper versions and people can come out and buy them and then crazy there's a lot of people saying that hey this is this is very bad for women uh creeps wearing them and i for one would never ever
[00:00:57] Speaker 1: creep on a woman with glasses do you know what i wish i did i mean we're both we're both looking at jared now naked i mean it's it's a sight for sore eyes and something that maybe i do want to see again um on another day um guys thanks for joining us um it is fantastic to to see all um and and what a week i just read this morning um more dramas with this cgt guys um even labor labor's own people are coming out now and uh they're seriously upset about it i mean what a dog of a policy jerry
[00:01:30] Speaker 2: you're first up what's happened just to clear it up is that basically they're not grandfathering gains between 1985 and 2026 is that correct well that's that wasn't sold that way in the budget uh and and effectively you should grandfather gains if people held on to those assets thinking they were tax-free uh up until now it's another thing going forward so the tax policy next year is for your listeners who may not know this from the first of july 2027 gains you make from that date will be taxed at a minimum rate of 30 cents and we've talked about this before that that's unfair to people on low incomes uh but it's it's i mean uh yeah like like they should have they shouldn't be you know they want to uh go and grant you know don't want to grandfather capital gains and that's something you need to explain to people i mean that's basically breaking a promise that's 40 years old and people have made investment decisions based on that i'm surprised that it's one thing if it was a they overlooked it i mean i know the tax act quite well and i mean there's a million things out there but um uh so they did go and fix that uh for the widowers and things like that and allow them to keep the the negative gearing which is what they should have done um and that's actually quite a neat i i know that exact part of the tax act it's section 128 so that's not hard to fix uh but they should should grant uh grandfather those gains up until 2027. so it's a broken promise yeah just on investment on the
[00:02:59] Speaker 1: investment properties i think is the is the issue there that was hidden somewhere in the budget papers but i mean every week that goes by there's something new that comes out that um you know the the hammers hard-working aussies who have been the big mistake that they made was that they didn't
[00:03:14] Speaker 2: lower income tax i mean income tax rates are way too high especially for low income earners and you know i've spoken about this numerous occasions as well if you're earning 45 50 grand you're not making any profit so a business pays tax on their profits you know in other words they get a tax deduction for the cost of doing business i genuinely believe hard-working australians should get a tax deduction for the cost of living i mean it's not something you collect receipts you just go the first 50 grand or we've got a policy for 45 grand it starts to get more expensive after that but you know first 45 50 grand you earn you should not be paying tax because you need that much money just to survive let alone
[00:03:50] Speaker 1: you know try and get ahead isaac we're just swamped by all this stuff i mean there's there's bunches of people i've what i've read through all the papers all through the week saying you know what if you're a young person too um you're just going to get flogged in this country so go overseas
[00:04:08] Speaker 3: well that's where a lot of people are going and i think a lot of people are doing this all over the world with their home countries just hammering them with tax you see in the uk so many people going to dubai uh in australia so many people going to bali i was talking about the other week who's just moved to bali because he is just he runs a multi multi-million dollar company and he's just getting hammered um i think for for me as you know um a millennial whatever i am um we grow up and we go you know screw these people with investment properties and all this type of stuff and now someone with investment properties i think no no i was wrong i think i think we should be looked after but also people when they hear the government speak about things like capital gains tax or whether it's anything to do with financials we never learn about this stuff in school so nobody's got any idea the average joe the layman they don't know what people are talking about on the news so they just goes in one ear and out the other so nothing ever comes of it so the more you tax people the more you attack people and their ability to make an income you just slowly grind people down and i think that's where a lot of people feel they are right now and it's a lot of people are feeling pretty helpless i mean if you make 50 grand a year like how much money are you left with at christmas none like nothing there's nothing left so it's a it's a tough time it's a tough time and i think you know the government's trying to turn the budget around and they're trying to do it by attacking people who are working their
[00:05:36] Speaker 1: ring all out and that's just a shit go and to explain complex economic theorem that's why we have jared renick on this show um so that's right but jared um in terms of um you know i think that's a great point that isaac made makes that i think the government thinks they don't have to explain it because you know people aren't going to get it so who cares but i reckon people are more knowledgeable
[00:06:00] Speaker 2: now about this than ever before yeah okay the government themselves wouldn't understand what they were doing um that's one thing i found out when i was down there was that you know most politicians didn't have a clue about the tax act uh and yeah i mean i basically did an entire master's degree in the tax act and still went back and did an extra subject i paid for it out of my own coin just a study up on tax treaties more uh so there is so much complexity to the tax act but can i just say you know and we have got to start taxing profits sent offshore at a much higher rate than what we're taxing profits earned here in australia because that is one of the fundamental things that is killing this country is that profits are flowing offshore at a rapid rate of knots uh we've seen again this week qantas is now talking about outsourcing jobs offshore on top of you know big banks are doing it they cannibalizing their own customer base because if their customers don't have jobs they're not going to be able to actually you know use the services of these big corporations and our governments are doing nothing about it uh and this mantra that we've had shoved down our throats over the last four decades that we've got to attract capital in investment foreign capital uh and we've got to have free trade well only free trade is basically for the big foreign corporations who get to come here you know uh make sales and pay no tax that's the free trade it's not and and the the downside to that is that australians are having to pay more through higher taxes what they call bracket creep so as the cost of living goes up by every year it might cost you two thousand dollars more to live every year the tax rates aren't well the the margins at which you touch the thresholds at which you pay tax aren't lifting with that rate of uh cost of living the increase in cost of living so people are slowly being uh you know uh having their disposable incomes eroded and it hasn't helped when we've had superannuation increase from you know zero percent in 1992 through to 12 as well you know the median wage in this country is about eighty two eighty five thousand dollars but if you just use eighty thousand dollars for simplicity you know you need 50 grand to live on pay 20 grand tax on that um uh salary you're left with ten thousand dollars left to save twelve percent superannuation is nine thousand six hundred so literally almost a hundred percent of that bit of disposable income you've got is actually paid to some bloke in an ivory palace in a capital city somewhere to gamble with until you're 67 and there's no guarantee you're going to get it back now most hard working australians aren't interested in paper assets they want one real asset called their house and we want to get them in their house earlier and we want them to pay that house off earlier as well so that is what we need to get back to is building real assets in this country not paper assets uh and if we want to turn this country around yeah the best way to start doing that is to lower the rate of tax on hard working australians
[00:08:56] Speaker 1: i think um isaac jared makes some wonderful points there i noticed that story too during the week i think quanta still hasn't made up their mind where they're going to outsource those jobs to india but when you see corporations and they've done it for the last 20 years constantly outsourcing jobs to overseas it's got to tell you that something is wrong in australia yeah and i guess this is the
[00:09:17] Speaker 3: thing when people say we need to attack these companies we need to tax them more we need to make sure they're paying their fair share it's like yeah i agree with that on on principle but they're just going to move offshore they're going to lose all their every year so isaac what so why don't we do
[00:09:32] Speaker 1: the same thing let's let's all become citizens of new zealand and and pay um less capital gains tax over there i mean you know the the drain to places like the middle east is on bali is on everyone is going to pick up pack up and leave this great country because we're getting taxed up the wazoo
[00:09:53] Speaker 3: yeah well no one wants to live in new zealand carl but yes other places are quite nice uh yeah mate it's and it this is the thing i think with with all of these conversations a regular australian who works nine to five or eight or four whatever it happens to be they get home they bust their ass they cook tea they get the kids to bed they don't have time to think about any of this type of stuff all they hear on the news if they watch the news if they're dumb enough to watch the news they will see that people are just go they're taking taking taking and yet we never get anything so they lose faith in their country and this affects so many other parts of of our world and our realm it affects patriotism it affects what you think about your own land and this is bad it is all bad it all affects every part of what we think australia is and that's terrible we should be proud of this country we should be happy with this country but the people who run at the people at the top every time they take a little bit away it eats at the soul and the fabric of who we are as australians
[00:10:52] Speaker 1: no i think that's a great point jared i i want you to add to that because i mean i just this morning dropped you know my daughter off at school and there was you know the parent teacher thing i've never been good at parent teacher meetings even as a parent jared i reckon you would have been a good student but i was hopeless i got i got the cold sweats going into her year one class um but all the parents have that look about them it's like i've got to drop my child up i want to have time with my kids but i want to also be here for them they've got to go to work some of them are working two jobs and they don't see a way out at the moment it's it's so much hard work for australians right now and
[00:11:34] Speaker 2: there's just no clear air that yeah that's right carl and unfortunately a lot of the decisions that got people into the places they are today were made by governments 40 years ago i've discussed this a lot lately around capital controls but we've relied too heavily on foreign debt to fund our way of life for the last 40 years when you pay interest on that foreign debt that's more money that goes offshore uh and yeah and just back to the whole offshoring of jobs for example we have payroll in this tax in this country which is effectively it's not just a dumb tax because you're taxing people to employ people it's complicated six different states six different thresholds six different rates we have workers compensation insurance in this country that's run by state governments so if you're a national employer you've got to take out six different lots of workers compensation in every state one of our solutions are people first is they have a national government insurance office like we used to where we're just going to offer one set of workers compensation for the entire country not uh six different states but yeah we've allowed way too much debt i mean this this is a long story probably a bit too heavy for you you know right now but we went from eight billion dollars in foreign debt in 1985 with the private banks to 800 billion dollars in debt by 2008. that was land against houses that drove house prices up from four to five times earnings to 10 to 12 times earnings had to send two parents back to work you'll remember the creation of the child care industry in the late 90s eddie groves etc uh and then we had a crash in 2008 the gfc a lot of people lost a lot of retirees lost a lot of money on their paper assets because they put their money in a superannuation so they had to kevin rudd actually had to allow temporary visa holders i.e students to buy houses in this country so they've used then the immigration to prop up the price of houses so you know we've now got more immigrants coming in competing against australians for you know essential services for jobs etc and so what we're seeing is a slow decline in the standard of living uh and what i call available disposable income to actually pay your mortgage off quicker
[00:13:36] Speaker 3: can i say there too karl sorry um on that jared it goes and destroys the family unit from there people don't want to have any more kids because they can't afford it so therefore the population rate starts to fall the birth rate yeah exactly bring more immigrants in yeah yeah it's it's it's all
[00:13:55] Speaker 2: because we were brainwashed uh throughout the 90s that we had to attract foreign capital now uh a capital is basically one of two things it's it's what you use to pay for business or build something so you can either borrow money or you can use your own money or what we call on the stock market you might issue new shares instead of actually so if we build a dam in this country today for a billion dollars we will go and borrow that billion dollars offshore right that means the first billion dollars we make from that dam or the power station we have to repay offshore add another 25 years interest on that at say four percent that's another billion dollars we repay offshore we should not do that right as a sovereign country we have title over all the rainfall over all the soil over all the sunlight that falls on this seven million square kilometers right now no one no neoliberal would say to you oh bhp can't issue new shares on the stock exchange to build a new coal mine right uh if it's going to generate a return to say 10 or 15 percent governments should issue their own infrastructure bonds on productive assets not schools and hospitals productive assets that make money and you know this well carl you saw this throughout yeah when you grew up same time as me in queensland uh we had um uh you know uh the occupiers in government build dams power stations and that generated recurring revenue for state governments they foolishly sold all these infrastructure assets that were the cash cow for state governments uh and then as a result state governments have had to borrow more money so we've got ourselves in this vicious cycle whereby we borrow too much money offshore for housing we've sold all our infrastructure that used to generate recurring revenue for state governments and then a little bit of disposable income you've got left you have to hand over to some bloke in a white collar in an ivory palace somewhere uh and we've now got over three well four trillion dollars in super three trillion of its outside self-managed super funds three trillion dollars is managed by superannuation funds you don't get to elect those boards so the last little bit of equity we've got left in this country is controlled by we don't even have any say over who controls that money you know there was never a referendum in 1992 and paul keating went to the uh you know australian public and said we're going to take two percent of your income and he certainly didn't say by 2025 we're going to take 12 percent of your total income right so basically people have been shafted through higher debt on their houses and then having that last capacity that little bit of money they could save has now been gone off back into a superannuation fund of which over a trillion dollars is now reinvested offshore not onshore so i'm old enough to remember when bob was selling its brookings super to say we were going to build infrastructure here with it well all i ended up doing was buying existing infrastructure and then using that as a monopoly uh to prevent more infrastructure from being built so you know we are being shafted every which way on the on the balance sheet uh and then add to that like uh you may not remember this 1985 uh senator john button a labor minister he was the industry minister under hawk government decided to start lowering tariffs on manufacturing so of course we've de-skilled our our country and then that was then followed up by a bloke by by the name of john dawkins the education minister who decided to set up hex and send everyone to university to get broken brainwashed by the time they're 23. so we've gone from a country that was very resourceful the majority of uh uh you know young people went and got trades i mean i remember and i went to school like well i'll use my sister's example she started high school in 77 out at chinchilla state high finished in 81. there were four classes in that started in grade eight by the time she finished in grade 12 there was half a class because all the other guys most of the guys had left become tradies farmers whatever um they were out starting saving money at 15 16. by the time they were 24 25 they had enough money for a house deposit for a house today we've got students graduating at 23 maybe 21 22. they've got a massive hex debt they've got skills which are now being outsourced offshore you know into indian service centers or philippine service centers or they're going to lose uh a lot of these service jobs now through ai uh so you know and the reason why i'm talking going back to these 40 years ago because a lot of the decisions made back then are hitting us now you know because the first generation had a big party with rising capital gains tax-free on on houses uh you know and but now the party's over and we're waking up with the hangover and unfortunately it's our children who's inheriting that hangover so what we've got to do is start reskilling them again those those uh young people that aren't academically inclined they're more better with their hands my best mates are tradies uh you know let them go leave school at grade 11 or go to trade school uh let them you know let's get rid of tax yet again another good reason to lift the tax-free threshold so that apprentices don't have to pay tax it's absurd to tax people that want to get a trade in my view especially as apprentice as an apprenticeship uh let's let them get tax-free income get them back on the tools and start building things again we've got to get our military instead of going off into these never-ending wars we've got to go and actually start building here it's you know our soldiers join the australian defense force not the australian offense force and good soldiers build good armies build you know our greatest soldier john monash was an engineer legend has it he never fired a bullet in battle the reason why he helped win the battles in world war one was that he actually used his engineering skills and his logistics skills to outmaneuver the other side and what we've got to do here in this case it's it's just so simple if you got washed up on a desert island would you go and create a superannuation fund or would you you know do what the rba does and pull leaves off a tree and manipulate the price of paper of course you wouldn't you'd go back and you'd actually you know build start a fire build a house look for a water supply and you go back to basics and that's what we've got to do because we've got enormous potential in this country uh you know it's interesting um we often hear about you know i'll go back to when gina mentioned about bringing elon musk on you know giving them tax-free land and all that stuff she's worth 30 billion dollars right she makes money out of coking coal and iron ore in this country she's got an obligation clive these guys they're multi-billionaires they should be rebuilding steel factories in this country go and put them up in darwin put ships that sail around from queensland with coking coal iron ore from wa stop off in darwin instead of selling iron ore 100 bucks a ton go and turn it into a you know steel and sell it at 500 bucks a ton because most factories today especially manufacturing factories are actually automated so 80 of these uh you know factories are automated so the argument that we can no longer compete with foreign labor is not true if we build more power stations we can drive down the cost of energy we can be the most competitive country in the world on energy we've got fast reserves of it get rid of payroll tax standardize workers compensation streamline the the industrial relational laws so that we've got one set of laws for the entire country and start adding value to our enormous reserves of raw materials in this country so i'm just giving a bit of hope there because as you say like a lot of people are deflated but i say don't be disappointed because go back 200 years when our pioneering fathers built this country yeah they were out there and living in shanty huts and stuff they got bitten by a big black snake out there in the middle of the bush 200 years ago mate they weren't getting anywhere near a hospital right so they you know i love looking at um frederick uh mccubbins um painting down on his luck and i see the the squatter with his wife there in the middle of the bush you know and we've got to draw inspiration from these pioneering forefathers that made this built this country from nothing and i know times are tough now but we can turn it around we just have to understand that all of this wealth we have is our title it was given to us by our forefathers and we can't let the debt and the debt merchants uh drown our children and stuff and enslave our
[00:21:34] Speaker 1: children with debt because that's what's killing us wow i mean i there's a lot there isaac and but every single thing yeah go nothing for yeah no no i i think i mean it's perfectly sums it up um you know even talking about john monash i i was on the western front at villa bretna uh you know the aussies got fought back uh all the way to army and then um you know he came in and fought the germans back out of there and that's the that's the the inherent aussie spirit that they still remember over there in villa bretna um and it's those kind of skills you think about the sacrifice everything you said then perfectly summed up where australia is right now um and isaac you know some of it i knew some of it i didn't but the way out of it is is you know jared's way out of it but it made a lot of sense
[00:22:28] Speaker 3: well i i have a question for jared why you need to be putting this out every week speeches like that like that's the that people need to hear because right now people are getting and i know carl put this out obviously and it's out there but mate you know this is what people need to hear they need to hear you who is an expert in all of this whether it's tax law or whatever whatever it is they need to hear from you because right now all the hearing is spin the point on the army i thought was a great point like why and from my own thoughts while you were saying that was why why don't we have like okay we're training you know infantrymen we're training engineers but what about how many tradies let's try and train some more tradies in that role okay you can train them with the army but in that same uh in that same existence there in the army while they're learning you know to fight why don't they come out as plumbers why don't they come out as leckos like we if we've got them for sign them up for four years whatever it is the general um contract there yeah give them something to come out with like that's a fantastic way that the army could bring so many young people through and these kids in high school they look at it and go well do i want to go to uni and end up in 90 to 110 000 of debt or do i want to come out with a trade be able to write my own ticket and you know do all these other things maybe see parts of australia i'll never see see the world whatever at least you have something from that the army know these kids aren't going to be there forever they're only in there for what 10 years max you know most people don't stay in the army forever so yeah i don't know i think that's the idea
[00:24:02] Speaker 2: behind that's a great way to try to stay on the barracks you know they get free food and accommodation because you don't earn a lot as an apprenticeship but we also want to expand the military engineering corps to offer those pathways they can obviously go back in the private sector as well obviously we need builders building houses and things like that but you know not that i want to get into war anytime soon but if you did have your roads bombed you can't pick up the phone of these contractors foreign contractors they're not going to come here they're because two reasons i don't want to get killed and be they don't want to get um they may not get paid and if we look at what's happening with uh snowy hydro two you wouldn't want to rely on foreign contractors i mean we cannot even build things do the basic things right in this country anymore you know we managed to build snowy hydro with much less hassle and well i dare say there are problems with the original construction but it's snowy hydro two and the inland rail getting cancelled it's just you know it makes me weep tears of blood to see the fact that we just can't even build basic infrastructure in this country anymore we just either give up or we just have a ridiculous overrunning costs so you know unfortunately i think and because we've gutted a lot of our manufacturing industry i don't think we can rely on the public's the private sector to pick up the slack you know we need an actual national coordinated government-backed approach to bringing back our manufacturing and infrastructure sector um and you know like and this is the thing forget the culture wars if you want to win the culture wars get the family uh debt paid off the the house mortgage paid off and get a parent back at home because the best place to win these culture wars is not shouting at other strangers on the internet or social media is to get a parent up at the school pnc where you can talk face to face with the principal that way you know respectfully in a respectful manner or go to the local get involved with your local sporting organization you know or whatever because the world's run by those people who turn up and what's happened is because everyone's drowning in debt two parents are back at work no one's turning up and being involved in the community anymore which has opened up the space for all these top-down bureaucrats to start pushing a lot of this stuff into the classrooms and that because parents can't aren't there and it's a real you know and and you know combine that with the house entertainment it's you know we can't you know community engagement is incredibly important not just through politics but through your childhood you know your children's education through your local sporting groups organizations fantastic organizations like rotary whether it's rotary st vincent's the poor blue nurses you know we've got a um this is the other downside of debt as well it's it's it's killing our availability to um contribute back in the community and that's that's where if you want a good healthy society you know we all need to interact locally as well rather than having this top-down bureaucratic approach
[00:26:51] Speaker 3: i told i told you isaac he was good to listen to oh i feel like i'm listening to the podcast it's great um yeah i i stand by what i said people need to hear yeah jerry well that's but yeah that's what that's
[00:27:05] Speaker 1: why he's on i mean i wanted to have a this let's lighten the load a little bit on this on on this evening um because i think australia is i mean everything they need to hear is just there um so i woke up the other morning and i was watching my brother on news 24 who's an outstanding presenter young pedro outstanding beautiful man and this this drone thing happened in this russian drone on this poor con the fruit you know the equivalent in ukraine of con the fruit on the roadside i mean have a look at this i mean this is unbelievable i mean this is the modern day warfare on the streets of ukraine and we saw what happened you know subsequent to that there's been tit for tat and it's gotten really horrible and nasty it has been horrible for for a couple of years now but when i saw that i was like holy shit imagine that happening at your at your local 7-eleven isaac mate this is this is uh i know
[00:27:59] Speaker 3: you said this is a very light-hearted topic but it's not this is terrifying stuff this is bad this is modern warfare like the game that people were playing back on the playstation 3 back in 2008 whatever it was like this is real now and this is the front this is frontline trench warfare they're going in with drones and i know when when uh gina mentioned about you know the israelis coming over and building drones and stuff in australia at first a lot of people like that's that's whatever they thought and i thought well i want to i want to have the best defenses here too because this is going to be the next if there's a world war three it's going to be drones it's going to be terrifying this is terrorism in the future this is full-on this is bad and if i've watched enough of these videos you can find them all over x and twitter yeah of russian uh ukrainian soldiers or soldiers from all over the world who are fighting there cowering in fear because they know that their final moments are being live streamed to some dude with a fiber optic cable two kilometers away it's crazy and to watch that in real time so many people pass away their final moments broadcast it is it is scary like this is this is real uh real shit that people are going to have to we're going to have to be on top of we need the best minds in the world to make sure that we are or our service men and women when they go into battle are safe but also um the terrorist attacks that we've seen in our country and other countries all over the world it would not surprise me if things like drone attacks start becoming a real event well there's
[00:29:40] Speaker 1: been so much i mean steve baxter was on this show a couple of months ago now talking about how on the front lines in ukraine and russia they can they could essentially timu weapons to the front line i mean there's there's blacklists uh there's shopping lists of weaponry and and i looked at that too i mean quite honestly i was i was grateful and thankful that the guy was able to live but the sheer panic of this thing just hovering around you know like a wasp when you're a kid playing around the pool it's like it's absolutely terrifying jared um what the future you're right and obviously it's dry and warfare but
[00:30:15] Speaker 2: look there is a much much much bigger picture going on here and that is the unwillingness of world leaders to seek peace ultimately it needs to be much more negotiation in the world the 21st century has been characterized by belligerent rhetoric from world leaders you know we saw it start in the iraq war in 2003 where they sold us alive to basically destroy uh you know probably what was the second the first world country at the time uh we've had continual warfare in the middle east we have now got this absurd position whereby the leader of al-qaeda is now being put in charge of syria so i went to syria in the late 90s it was it was a beautiful country i went through syria and jordan and israel and all through the middle east there i actually went through iran another on another leg of that trip but you know one thing i learned from my travels is that we are all the same uh and that all people around the world regardless of which country they live in hate their own governments probably more than we hate their governments they're not lying awake at night wondering what people in other countries are doing they're lying awake at night wondering how they're going to put a roof over their head and food on their children yeah food on the table and have a better life for their children and we need to go back and look at the great leaders who led the world after world war ii eisenhower kennedy harry truman they all called out the deep state you know the intelligence agencies you know and we spoke last week about how they covered up the origins of covid they'd sold us a lie over the chemical weapons of mass destruction we found out earlier this year from joe kent that basically the deep state funds isis uh you know a lot of who are over the isis brides why don't we look at actually who's funding isis to begin with and the same goes for ukraine now a lady by the name of victoria newland uh who is actually uh in who's in biden's administration she was caught on a telephone organizing the overthrow of democratically elected leader back in uh february 2014. and what annoys me so much about the ukraine war is that was all instigated by that overthrow in the late october early march uh late october to late 2013 through to early march 2014 and there's been referendums both in crimea and donbass uh and we need to go back to those original uh the second minsk agreements that is calling for referendums in donbass and crimea whereby they get to choose their own destiny now whether that be they go with russia they become independent states but yeah donald trump said he was going to end this war and i supported trump but he needs to end this war because we will see you know that one shot you saw yesterday the the greengrocer this is happening every day i suspect yesterday was used as a propaganda tool uh but you know this happens all the time and innocent people are being killed needlessly and i saw this happen in covert when i was down in canberra people thought the deaths or the injuries from the vaccines they were totally detached from the real life impact of that because i rarely ever answer a phone call or answer an email from a constituent and i i really fear for the world when i see our leaders so detached from the horrors of war and you know it's interesting if you listen you know and i love those guys the eyes and hours and the kennedys and the trumans that's interesting uh these guys and even reagan was really good he did a great speech in the east wing in january 84 and i quote a bit of it in my maiden speech where he said you know if jack and bill from the us were sitting in a bus stop and they happened to sit next to a russian family what would they be talking about and of course they'd both be talking about their children you know they're they're trying to make ends meet and things like that and we really need to promote because let me tell you this we're a small isolated country down here in the south pacific here in australia amongst our beautiful pacific island friends but we are sitting underneath asia a full be a population of four billion people the idea that we can get in any sort of conflict with these guys uh and we're going to come out smelling roses is not on we're going to destroy our children's future so and you know i i'd go against some of the other minor parties on the right i think we do need to stay in the united nations i don't think we need to stay in the world health organization that's a different story but we need to go to the general assembly and we need to have strong uh relationships with all the other countries in the world because we do live on one planet called planet earth we are one race the human race and we need to actually you know try and reach out and find common interests and that common interest is it's worldwide it's we want a better life for our children and it's it's incumbent upon all political leaders to be seeking peace not using belligerent rhetoric to stir up war and use our children as the as the meat in their meat grinders to score political points
[00:34:54] Speaker 1: jared you had me until you said let's join up with the un i mean what have they done for you well okay
[00:35:00] Speaker 2: in the in the in the iraq war yeah this was the last time they probably had any sort of authority they did try and they did try to get proof of the chemical weapons right now just because the un isn't isn't effective doesn't mean to say it shouldn't be when it was originally set up after world to world war ii i think it served the purpose of it was right is to try and stop conflict through negotiation and dialogue before it happened i still believe that there's a role for that like do i think the agency should exist do i think that we should have treaties that stop us from doing things in this country absolutely not but from the point of view of trying to negotiate with other countries and facilitating agreements i would like to see you know because the the intelligence agencies and yet again this is where i i you know i don't think i think the un is incompetent uh for sure and it's never going to be perfect when you're trying to get 180 odd countries uh you know to agree on things but our intelligence agencies i think have been undermining us for a long time they're bureaucrats like anyone else you know we've just seen them try and protect fauci through covert we saw the lies over um you know the iraq war you know that the fact that they've been uh funding isis uh in the middle east i mean this is from joe kent who's this who was the two ic of uh or the ic like he was high up in the intelligence community um so i'm not saying u.n is perfect right but i do believe and especially for smaller or mid powers like australia we have to have a a body whereby we can try and influence outcomes because you know australia does have influence as a middle power um and i'm just the idea that we become an isolated country in the south pacific i don't buy into that either we can't be completely yeah yeah well
[00:36:48] Speaker 1: that that i agree with um isaac um there's there's a lot going on in the world i mean we're talking at the start of of um tonight's uh podcast about in in a much you know lighter way about the sunnies and um ai um the future of ai and surveillance and even being able to do that i mean it's just a very different world right i mean i mean i i don't i don't particularly like the fact that kmart um is selling those glasses i mean this that's obviously only a joke i don't believe that the people should be able to wear those glasses i think that the meta glasses should be banned i mean not not just because i you know don't want to see gerald naked um but i just think there's a whole lot of issues there about
[00:37:33] Speaker 3: how we're being surveilled yeah i guess privacy in public is something that we've all given up on um it doesn't really uh exist anymore anywhere you go you're on does it worry you at all uh yeah i mean i go on you know whether it's a racist outrage rampage whatever that type of thing occasionally i don't want that recorded but i think um i think what people are worried about is you know is it the price point too in came up are we worried about the low income earners having access to these meta glasses because meta glasses are 350 400 all of all of a sudden these commoners are getting a hold of them on and now we have a problem carl are you saying that yeah people without money should not have access to them or they are all creeps are poor people creeps i don't think
[00:38:22] Speaker 1: anyone should have glasses that can take photos or video of people walking down the street because you know i i do get around in some weird as you guys know i mean i basically have it anyway with the paparazzi um so they're recording all my moves anyway um but but jared that that wider story is is a disturbing one i i think people people have no problem you know going to any kind of store and that you're being surveilled because you know there's security issues or whatever but it's what happens to that information from here on that that i i worry about um for people you know who yeah and you're right it
[00:38:57] Speaker 2: is a it is a very uh good point to rise and and in our entire privacy i mean if you've got a mobile phone today and you're on uh you don't even need to be on social media uh apple's tracking everything you do even if there's cameras in cars now you get a new car they're recording everything uh your privacy is really being attacked and i honestly unless you want to throw your phone away and go completely off the reservation so to speak you know off the grid uh i don't know how you do get to protect your privacy i mean there needs to be laws but yet again the problem with laws is the moment you start bringing in laws they always end up working in favor of the establishment and not the individual um so yet again i'll say there should be laws and then i think that myself you know well should there be laws because if there are laws that work end up working against us um but that the glass is ruined weren't you filmed one day send me a call a shot of you a new idea or something once you're on the beach with your man bod bod now having a bit of a crack at you i mean you've actually suffered here you know you've actually experienced this public humiliation publicly haven't you how did that feel
[00:40:00] Speaker 1: you know i i well it wasn't just man boobs and you know in the edit we'll put up the photo of me waiting out of the ocean um and i think i've said in the past actually i mean it was christmas it was christmas day um and you know it had a big feed and i came out of the ocean and then you know i again i've said this before but when you have you know a mate of mine james packer send me a message saying jesus son you put on weight i mean you know you don't look too bad you're talking about no no there's one from side on bro it's shocking it's shocking i'll find it don't worry yeah no no we'll put it up in the edit ricardo's listening in to my head of production and he'll find it it's side on too so it's like it's you know it's right in there no it's just terrible it's terrible but you know i don't have i don't think that i have much privacy anyway but i was with my son last night just having dinner and he started talking about these shoes and i kid you not five minutes later boom like page after page after page i mean you have to be aware of it isaac they listen to you they listen to you
[00:41:17] Speaker 3: everywhere and like the government's now suggesting that uh people employed by the government or working for secret services here or asio wherever not to buy chinese cars uh there's more and more of those byd cars out there and i'm not suggesting that they are listening to anyone but what i am saying is hey they
[00:41:36] Speaker 1: can and they and they can exactly they can they can track all of your information where you go to shop where you spend the most amount of time they can shut down the car at any point i mean i don't know maybe every car can do that but i think i don't think so but here's the thing when it comes to
[00:41:53] Speaker 3: surveillance like are you worried about paparazzi surveilling you or someone like that just a random person i think the paparazzi laws are outrageous by the way they're the biggest creeps that have ever
[00:42:02] Speaker 1: ever existed i'll tell you i'll tell you something isaac so the other day some guy some guy followed me to the school and and i and i took little harper across to the school she's like six she has no idea so anyway the guy's taking photos the lollipop dude uh paul who's an absolute legend um he goes after this guy and says that's against the law uh and the guy the guy arced up at him the this paparazzi and so the lollipop guy has then reported him and his number plate because there was a bit of you know biffo not biffo but verbal biffo and now the school has reported him to um to the police because you can't be taking photos around the school i mean i don't know what happens with that but i've never been able to you know to stop them from doing that but it goes with the territory as well but anything around kids anything yeah i just i i just think that comes down to the person
[00:42:58] Speaker 3: like if you want to live your life as a paparazzi then okay you know go and earn your money but surely you can find a better way to do it yeah you creep but anyway you guys can find a better way to earn a living hey i mean it's it's bad but yeah you're getting listened to everywhere and if the government wants to listen to you then you're just it's all over we heard about the americans trying to find that down pilot who found him through his heartbeat so like if you're out hiding and being a creep on tinder or whatever you're doing like you're in trouble mate they're coming for you so uh you just got to keep your nose clean and you know if you want to do those weird wonderful things go and join to um you know go and join the uh what was the word the deep state yeah abians whoever do all that
[00:43:48] Speaker 1: all right one final one jared from you one final word before we close off um and make it light bright and whatever you do just make make it okay you're putting me on the spot there but uh look um beautiful
[00:44:01] Speaker 2: weather up here in queensland so lucky to live in this great state we've got a lot of potential and uh you know i've never going to give up on our country i think you know we are still one of the luckiest countries in the world uh and we should be very grateful for everything we've got
[00:44:17] Speaker 3: well said mate isaac well i've got shows this weekend in port perry and adelaide they're sold out but wish me luck it's uh it's a gross part of the world and i'm going to do a stand-up routine to open one of your shows at some point in sydney coming up on the i can't remember ricardo put it up this date i will be there at the factory theater carlos will be opening the show and uh we're going to have to start working on your five minutes big dick because it's going to be a good
