Crowd Goes SILENT As Trump BOMBS During Speech

[0:00] all right folks look i'm going to be honest with you what we saw from donald trump last night was [0:03] one of the worst if not the worst white house correspondence dinner speeches we've ever seen [0:09] in american history this is meant to be a dinner that brings the president and their team and the [0:13] media and all these different folks together to celebrate american democracy the first amendment [0:18] a free press donald trump didn't do any of that and his speech which was meant to be funny and [0:23] light and get some laughs completely backfired i mean there was silence throughout the jokes [0:28] were cringy and weird it was just not a good speech i watched it so you didn't have to and i have some [0:33] clips to play for you and man oh man they are really really bad the speech sucked the entire event sucked [0:39] so i want to start here before we get into the clips of donald trump speaking because this is easily one [0:44] of the best videos from last night that you're going to see this clip is of donald trump as the [0:50] wall street journal receives an award for their investigation into donald trump's relationship [0:55] with epstein which they pursued despite donald trump's threats and lawsuits and this is donald [1:00] trump's face the camera only focused on him as the wall street journal receives an award for their [1:05] reporting on journal's courageous reporting [1:33] on president trump's past relationship with financier jeffrey epstein triggered the release of the so-called [1:40] epstein files thousands of documents that might otherwise have remained hidden from the public and [1:46] despite the president's threat of a lawsuit the journal published a story about a provocative letter [1:52] to epstein bearing president trump's signature trump quickly filed a 20 billion dollar lawsuit [1:59] against the journal revealing reporter khadija safdar's home address her family had to be relocated [2:09] the journal was kicked off of air force one but the reporters continue to file revelatory stories [2:16] please welcome the winners of the katherine graham award from the wall street journal khadija safdar [2:23] sanie german annie linsky josh dawsi again alex leary rebecca ballhouse and ryan barber their colleague [2:35] joe palazzolo could not attend tonight now i don't know why they're all shaking donald trump's hands [3:03] because he hates them but you can see throughout this he is pissed i mean he is not happy that uh they [3:11] are getting this award right here specifically and he keeps trying to lean over to caroline levitt to [3:15] maybe like make it better or make it seem like he's not bothered by this he's absolutely bothered by [3:20] this this is like his worst nightmare you know getting humiliated publicly for the epstein files having [3:26] this reporting rewarded and him obviously embarrassed as a result of the reporting but anyway bad clip for [3:33] donald trump and you can see that he was just not happy throughout and i'm really just not a fan [3:37] of all these reporters shaking his hand why are you shaking his hand like y'all reported on his [3:42] connections to epstein this is like you know epstein's best friend and i get it you're maybe [3:48] they're trying to be nice but you don't gotta be nice to this guy he hates you guys i don't know look [3:52] that bothers me they're great reporters but i don't know why we're shaking his hand you gotta you [3:55] gotta refuse that in my opinion then donald trump gets into the speech and man oh man is it bad they are [4:02] there are some really bad jokes in here let's start with this one where donald trump tries to make [4:07] and i'm not joking when i say this a sex joke about a senator that he knows apparently i look [4:14] it's bad just watching aside i do think we need term limits in congress i think term limits are [4:20] very important because i see what's happening i see what's happening the other day a senator i knew [4:26] got a text a great guy from his wife and she said when you get home i wanna have you immediately [4:34] come up the stairs and make love to me and he said i can't do both you know what you know in [4:43] other words you can't go up the stairs and make love does anybody get that well i thought that was [4:48] actually pretty good that was actually the only thing i thought was good in this whole freaking [4:52] stupid speech that they wrote that was the only good one and that went down with not exactly great [4:59] laughter i think you know in other words you can't go up the stairs and make love too you know [5:04] so will oh my god make it stop make it stop this is so bad so um you know it the best jokes are the [5:14] ones you have to explain isn't that right you have to like you know explain why they're funny nice one [5:18] donald wow what a terrible and weird joke uh i don't you know he he's making fun of the people who [5:24] wrote the speech he gets like final approval of the speech like he gets to redline things and take [5:29] things out that he doesn't like he was very much part of the speech so i don't know why he's attacking [5:33] other people this is every bit of a of his speech as it is the speech writers but why are [5:38] we talking about a senator and their intimate life with their wife at the white house correspondence [5:43] dinner a little inappropriate don't you think i don't want to hear about a republican senator who's [5:49] probably a gazillion years old and uh his ability or perhaps inability to get it on i you know i just [5:56] don't want to hear about that why are you it's not funny nobody found it funny he didn't even think [6:01] uh the joke as you heard he joke didn't land not even a little bit there wasn't even a little bit [6:05] of laughter and he had to explain it even trump acknowledging yeah the joke was kind of kind of [6:09] bad here's another one that i thought was uh not great gunshots he talked about the last white [6:15] house correspondence dinner of course when there was a shooting and he makes a joke about it saying [6:21] that nikki minaj the music artist who has now come around and endorsed him started twerking because of [6:29] the shooting okay but after hearing the gunshots many people yelled get down get down which caused [6:39] nikki minaj to start twerking do you believe get down she's the only one that really understood what [6:48] that meant it's quite an evening but tonight we come back together to answer that heinous attack with [6:58] unwavering resolve okay so uh you know i mean like president united states everybody um talking [7:09] about a music artist twerking and look the only people by the way the only people in this crowd [7:13] look at everybody else the only people laughing pete hegseth right there he thinks it's funny [7:18] you know donald trump could breathe and hegseth would be oh it's genius but nobody else is laughing [7:23] the only the people at the trump administration table and the fox news table perhaps are laughing at [7:29] that joke it's not funny nobody should be laughing it's not funny i mean my god here's another one [7:34] which was really gross donald trump has gotten a lot of flack for this one gotten a lot of pushback [7:40] and it's him attacking caitlin collins now he calls her young and attractive already bad enough [7:45] then he brings up her smile and then he compares her to dylan mulvaney who is a trans social media star [7:52] but they'll learn their lesson but i want to personally congratulate cnn's caitlin collins on [8:00] receiving her award it was all about me it's a fake she shouldn't get the award it was a fake but i [8:06] didn't mind i said caitlin congratulations but it was fake there's no question about it but she's a [8:13] young attractive woman she never smiles i said caitlin do you ever smile smile you have a nice position [8:20] you're at cnn fake news you should be a happy person so smile caitlin just smile but uh we attack [8:28] and i thought caitlin had really made it big with a major new sponsorship but then i informed her that [8:37] it wasn't her on the bud light can it was dylan mulvaney and dylan mulvaney cost but like 35 [8:47] billion dollars in market cap that was the worst commercial ever made by the way for those few [8:53] people that want to hear that okay um i wish we could have seen caitlin collins's face during that [9:01] i imagine that she was not happy nor should she be because a really disgusting joke um you have [9:07] misogyny on display transphobia on display attacking dylan mulvaney and trying to liken dylan [9:13] mulvaney to caitlin collins and whatnot um a really bad joke that again there's a you know a bunch [9:18] of conservatives in the audience you have trump's administration you have fox news you have oan and [9:23] all the republican media outlets i'm sure are there as well and they didn't even laugh because it makes [9:28] no sense the joke is bad the joke is stupid and it's not funny he should really just not try comedy [9:34] you know republicans say he's like the funniest president ever no i think he's quite boring actually [9:38] and i think he's quite rude and nobody really finds that funny um and you know he himself by the [9:44] way he he tossing stones at other people perhaps you shouldn't throw stones in a glass house donald [9:49] there's a lot to make fun of with you many things which we won't even get into right now the list is [9:54] very long cnn after this moment actually backed up caitlin collins which is great putting out a [9:58] statement saying caitlin collins is an exceptional trusted journalist being honored tonight for her depth [10:03] of knowledge and the context she provides to audiences all over the world she reports every day from [10:07] the white house in the field with real strength and tenacity and skillfully brings that reporting [10:11] to the anchor chair and cnn platforms every day we stand by her to the fullest extent cnn also just [10:16] broadly putting out a statement about the white house correspondence dinner and trump's attacks [10:20] towards cnn as an outlet saying we stand by our journalists and the integrity and fair-mindedness [10:26] and with which the cnn team reports the news honest accurate journalism may sometimes irritate [10:31] politicians but our right to report and present that reporting to the public without government [10:34] interference is fully protected by the u.s constitution cnn will continue to exercise [10:39] this right as they should and i'm glad that they are standing by caitlin collins donald trump making [10:45] another joke about chris christie that didn't land um apparently arguing over a cheesecake i don't know [10:52] but i can exclusively reveal to you this evening that for the heaviest of the heavyweights we will have [10:59] sloppy chris christie one of the sloppiest human beings you'll ever meet fighting uh i would say [11:06] i could mention the governor of chicago but i'm going to mention instead jerry nadler and they're [11:12] fighting for a big piece of cheesecake big fat piece of cheesecake who the hell wrote that line [11:18] but it is true even donald trump saying who the hell wrote that line probably you probably you and [11:26] he's trying to you know divert blame onto his speechwriter or whatever because again again [11:31] the joke did not land none of these jokes are landing it makes me remember you know like [11:34] president obama or president biden whenever they would give a speech at the white house [11:38] correspondence dinner it was always great like people genuinely enjoyed it and those events were [11:42] always really fun and you could be a democrat republican whatever and tune in and they'd be great [11:47] donald trump has ruined once again another good institution of the presidency and quite frankly [11:53] i am slightly annoyed by uh some of the performances of some journalists in the room i think [11:58] them calling out donald trump for the epstein file cover-up giving awards to journalists who have [12:03] reported critically on trump is great but why are we shaking his hand why are we like you know chummy [12:08] being chummy with this guy who if he could would eradicate american media i mean he really would you [12:13] know at least american media outlets that are not favorable to him i don't like how chummy the event kind [12:19] of seems i wish you know a slight maybe slightly more criticism for donald trump and the final thing [12:24] i want to show you in this speech is donald trump near the end of this speech decided it was appropriate [12:30] to put on a trump 2028 hat he also said that he's running for a third term i guess he was trying to [12:35] make it seem like a joke but he probably isn't joking probably wants to do that and so he put on this [12:40] hat to annoy the media as he says here's the thing i responded trump wore a trump 2028 hat at the [12:46] white house correspondence dinner tonight that's fine obama will come back and kick his ass for a [12:50] third term bring it on look if donald trump wants to run for a third term obviously that's against [12:56] the american constitution just very very explicitly it's right there in the document but look if donald [13:01] trump finds a way and the supreme court sides with him and says you know what go ahead why not [13:07] the rules are out of the window then obama i'm pretty confident will come out of retirement [13:12] run a campaign and perhaps win like 40 out of 50 states you know oklahoma's never voting for [13:16] a barack obama but uh i would love to see it why not rematch well it's never actually happened so [13:22] it's not a rematch but the first battle between these two electorally great do it do it that's [13:26] great um i don't care anymore i would just want to see obama beat him anyway look i will leave it there [13:31] that speech was awful uh donald trump's performance was bad it was a flop i think you can see that in some [13:37] of these clips nobody really was entertained not even the conservatives in the room were laughing [13:41] and there were republicans after the fact who admitted that the speech didn't land the jokes [13:46] didn't
