'Congress Cannot Be Trusted'- Khushbu Sundar on TN Political Realignment — TVK — Vijay

[0:00] okay let's go over now to uh bjp leader khushpu sundar now joins me uh bjp tamil nadu leader [0:06] appreciate you're joining us khushpu sundar you are among the few who yesterday openly came out [0:11] from the bjp to say vijay should be given a chance to form a government the governor [0:16] should invite vijay because there was a belief that the bjp was silently backing the aidmk [0:23] to deny vijay having an alliance with the congress was that true or not that the bjp ideally did not [0:32] want this vijay congress alliance in tamil nadu rajdi first i would like to know why would [0:39] bjp interfere in vijay taking over as a cm he has won the election with 108 as a single largest [0:45] party of tamil nad what is bjp going to gain by stopping vijay from becoming a chief minister [0:51] you wanted to stop vijay and the congress you wanted to stop vijay aligning with the congress [0:55] because you fear it's a formidable alliance that would then go to the 2029 elections in congress [1:01] congress with just five where all these years they have they have not won in the last 59 years congress [1:09] has not won gone uh solo in any election kamraj was the last chief minister from a leader in fact from [1:16] uh congress who could lead the state in the last 59 years when bj uh when congress cannot stand on [1:24] its own feet they have been going and backs you know back riding camel riding on uh uh either either [1:30] aidmk or dmk and you think with just five seats we are going to be scared of them i'm i'm sure this [1:37] sounds like a huge joke to me but uh having said that i think first we would like to congratulate [1:43] vijay for finally proving his majority and taking over and uh what i hear that he there's an oath [1:49] ceremony uh tomorrow so congratulations to him the issue is congress is scared they don't backstab now [1:56] they have gone a step ahead where they have actually stabbed right in the faces of dmk they don't have [2:02] the courage to stand alone they don't win a single seat without the support of dmk and they just for [2:08] one seat or two probably ministry birth the problem with congress is they are in power in uh with all [2:15] the issues they are in power in karnataka they are in telangana and they have won kerala so now they [2:21] want to form an alliance in the uh in tamilnad with tvk to tell the world see we are in the south [2:28] what the congress do not understand is they just have five seats after the decimal of congress the most [2:35] outrageous uh defeat in west bengal of congress where they've just won two seats who are they [2:41] trying to fool they're trying to fool themselves they're falling into the rut and trying to fool [2:45] themselves and they're telling the world don't trust us we are not trustworthy we can backstab we [2:50] can actually look into your faces and stab you directly because we have that courage for us nothing [2:56] else matters for us ma'am you're ma'am you're targeting the congress and you're saying that the [3:00] congress uh uh was the one that is just a minute this is to be targeted okay the kind of doings [3:06] what congress is doing i know you're a former congresswoman but i'm not going to go into the [3:11] past all i want to ask you no no no no one minute ma'am so you can go into the past i walked out of [3:15] congress because i refused to be part of that rut okay but the the fact kushpu sundar is then given [3:22] what has happened in tamil nadu vijay and the congress the left and vck now going to share power [3:28] where does that leave the bjp which uh tied up with the aidmk which ended up third the bjp has [3:34] also only won one serious keep saying congress won five you all only won one seat where does the bjp go [3:41] now in tamil nadu because it seems a bridge too far and the worry for you now will be if this alliance [3:46] between vijay and congress holds they could become a powerful uh in a way counterweight to the dravida [3:53] parties would you agree with that that this alliance would be a challenge now to the existing [3:58] players in tamil nadu and makes it even more difficult for the bjp to get an entry into tamil [4:04] no rajiv you have said yourself said it if and there's one big if when it comes to congress they [4:10] can turn codes anytime now as far as bjp is concerned we are not in a hurry what were we 15 [4:17] years back in west bengal we just had three seats then we grew slowly 15 years later with the single [4:22] largest party 204 seats in west bengal and the congress is decimated give us time we are working [4:29] on it we are not in a hurry we are not going to stab in somebody's back or you know uh do a foul play [4:35] and say that to me power is the most important thing because i have to prove a point no we are not here [4:39] to prove a point we are here to serve the people we are we are here to take the nation forward and [4:44] we are working towards that so don't you're you're assuring there was no attempt made to keep vijay [4:49] waiting because the so was the rumor mills that the governor who's a former bjp leader of goa was [4:55] being put under pressure from the center don't invite vijay because he's taking congress support [5:00] let's wait till the aidmk enters the fray all of that is not true no it's definitely not true i think [5:07] some people who have been sitting with the idle minds the devil's workshop so i think too many [5:12] idle mind who are there and sitting and talking about this because we are not going to gain [5:16] anything by not allowing vijay we accept wherever we have lost if we have lost uh with just three [5:23] seats in kerala we accept that's people's mandate we we very graciously accept that we don't have to [5:28] fall into these dirty tricks and say that no you stop him no bjp did not do that bjp is the [5:34] single largest democratic party in the country today we have all over just few pockets here and [5:39] there we may not be there very tiny pockets but then we rule and today when you look at west bengal [5:44] and assam how we have come back to power people had dismissed us they said we can never come back [5:49] we can never find a foothold in in west bengal they said we'll never come back in assam and see [5:53] where we are today okay nobody is dismissing you i want to know do you dismiss this vijay congress [5:59] alliance or do you believe this alliance will last given that it has such a wafer thin majority [6:04] i don't trust congress simple as that okay so you believe congress could ditch vijay at some time [6:12] am i correct if there is yes if dmk is going to come back to power tomorrow aidmk and bjp are coming [6:17] back to power i wouldn't be surprised if congress is going to come crawling to aidmk and say that please [6:23] take us back or the dmk you know there's a there's a saying there's a saying the dmk you're saying but i i [6:28] want to ask you one thing away from all of this in conclusion you are part of the film industry [6:34] here is a film star who's made it big what is so special about vijay you must be knowing him give [6:39] our audience an insight about vijay are you surprised that a film star first day first show has such a [6:44] blockbuster hit in politics vijay everyone knows vijay is more like my younger brother so uh i do keep in [6:52] touch i have kept in touch with him all these years and i'm more than happy personally apart from being [6:58] part of bjp i think personally it gives me immense pride to see my younger brother scaling such brilliant [7:04] heights the way the the kind of power he is creating today he's generated with the youth [7:09] it gives me uh you know i mean like i said i'm really proud of him and vijay what i know of him [7:15] is quite capable a man of few words he is always silent we don't hear him speak much but knowing [7:21] vijay is a very a man with a lot of patience and determination so i'm sure that uh he's going to do well [7:28] what is it but but tell us something about him that that we don't know since he's your younger [7:33] brother we should know something about vijay because so little is known about him what is what is [7:38] like what is vijay like when you know what is that one you know is there something about vijay that you [7:43] believe has made him so you know other actors have tried in tamil nadu not succeeded in recent time not [7:50] since the great mgr and jailalita so what is it about vijay that made him so uh appealing to the people of [7:56] tamil nadu i think his honesty that is what appealed to the people the way he spoke the way he presented [8:05] himself uh there was no hidden agenda when he spoke to them and today when you come to power with uh by [8:12] breaking every rule in the book of politics and election i think there is something about you which [8:18] is very very charming appealing to the people especially with the next generation how they went [8:24] all the way out and the women how they were able to connect with him uh what people don't know about [8:29] vijay is there's other side of him and that's a very very fun loving uh man which is behind what you [8:35] see as a serious man today it's an absolutely with a terrific sense of humor and he's a very fun loving [8:41] person but very few uh outsiders get to see that side of him i have seen that side of him so i know [8:47] uh genuinely uh the kind of human that he is you know i just want to say since you said he's very [8:53] honest he also told me when i met him that the bjp is my ideological adversary the davidya parties [8:59] are my political adversaries he doesn't seem to like the bjp too much he seems to perhaps believe [9:05] in a kind of secularism which is very contrary to the bjp's vision does that trouble you at all he seems [9:12] to prefer he seems to prefer rahul gandhi and the congress to the bjp and narendra modi no no that's [9:18] because he doesn't know mr rahul gandhi or congress this is just the beginning like i said don't trust [9:21] the congress so uh vidya i when i say honesty the way he speaks to the people when it comes to working [9:28] when it goes comes to going down and working for the people is that honesty i'm talking about [9:33] you can be in politics i can you can have different opinions and that is the best quality about india [9:38] where you have the uh you know very democratic society you can still be friends if vijay is going [9:43] to be in parliament and if he doesn't like bjp does not mean that the one person who has won uh from uh [9:49] bjp from bjp mr bojan rajan from kunu from ooty all the other ai dmkins today he's taken the support [9:55] of everyone who's been in alliance alliance with uh dmk and he said my biggest enemy is dmk but you still [10:02] have taken support from the parties who have been uh you know part of dmk today so this is politics [10:09] so you don't say that everybody there's nobody a permanent friend there's nobody a permanent enemy [10:14] when it comes to politics when you talk about vijay i know there's other side of him and i wish [10:18] him all the best okay you wish him all the best good to hear you say that good to hear ideological [10:23] adversaries but uh but contemporaries when it comes or
