[0:00] I would probably give him a B on homelessness. It is an absolute dismal failure. On effort,
[0:05] I would give him an A. Of course it's an F. 200,000 homeless people in California,
[0:12] and that was the letter grade, which is why for the first time in 16 years, Democrats
[0:17] are at risk of losing the biggest blue dynasty in America, currently a Republican at the top
[0:22] of the ticket. We've got all the highlights last night's debate for you right here on the Mega
[0:26] Beak. Let's get into the current state of play. Former Democrat lead and now scandalized
[0:31] Congressman Eric Swalwell is out, and here are the remaining candidates. So did last night bring
[0:37] forward a clear Democratic front runner before the debate? Pretty bleak. Everybody around the 10 to
[0:42] 15 percent range. Tom Sawyer moved into second. Billionaire activist Steve Hilton still holding
[0:47] the lead at 18 percent. Xavier Becerra and Katie Porter. You've got to watch this Katie Porter
[0:53] segment. It is ridiculous. Matt Mahan, Mayor of San Jose, and let's not forget Riverside County
[0:59] Sheriff Chad Bianco in third place. Highly enjoyable to watch. That segment's coming up.
[1:04] But let's start with the Democrats. Tom Sawyer, billionaire activist, environmentalist,
[1:09] currently in second place, has already spent $110 million on his campaign. Will probably spend double
[1:16] that. Let's see if you can find the common theme of what he had to say. Go. Let me say that the
[1:21] reason that gasoline is so expensive, that our President Donald Trump has started an insane war
[1:28] in Iran and driven up the cost of gasoline for everybody in California. Is it Sayer or Steyer?
[1:35] Either way, the question was about the gas tax in California. It's currently 62 cents a gallon. It's
[1:40] the highest gasoline in America. Now it's true that recent world events have raised gas prices. Everybody
[1:46] saw that. But California is expensive every single day, forever, always has been. So is he going to keep
[1:52] the tax or not? The answer on this is not to give up the gas tax, but actually to have a windfall profit
[2:00] tax on the oil companies who have been ripping us off for decades. So yes to keeping the gas tax and
[2:06] let's start a new tax. And what about electric vehicles? Should they be taxed? Should they be
[2:12] paying the equivalent of a gas tax? Yes. The tax man. So what about taxing the rich? I'm the billionaire
[2:18] who wants to tax other billionaires. And there's nothing preventing you from paying more taxes,
[2:22] have you? Me paying more taxes is not the answer. So tax for the but not for me. Now he doesn't have
[2:30] the full back into the Democratic Party yet, but he did just get endorsed by the teachers union.
[2:35] And I got to say, California, if you're looking for affordability, that didn't sound too affordable.
[2:41] Up next is Katie Porter. I absolutely love this segment. Katie Porter was said to have had this in
[2:47] the bag for the longest time. And then she did this. If we don't electrify our transportation sector,
[2:56] that we're gonna lose more than half a million Californians dying prematurely to air pollution
[3:02] and other problems. Get out of my fucking shot. I want to tell you that that's actually incorrect.
[3:07] It's not that it's electric vehicle. It's that if we don't need the commitments, I mean,
[3:11] a lot. Okay. It does. Okay. You also were in my shop before that. Stay out of my shop.
[3:19] Nasty lady. And that girl was just trying to help her. Nevermind that gobbledygook about if we don't
[3:26] drive elected cars, people are going to start dying. And here she is in a recent interview.
[3:33] I don't want to keep doing this. I'm going to call it. Thank you.
[3:35] You're not going to do the interview with us? Nope. Not like this. I'm not. Not with seven
[3:41] follow ups to every single question you ask. Every other candidate has. I don't care. I don't
[3:46] care. I want to have a pleasant, positive conversation, which you asked me about every
[3:50] issue on this list. And if every question you're going to make up a follow up question,
[3:54] then we're never going to get there. California, I pray for you. She becomes your governor and
[3:59] you're going to need it. But she really tried to look happy last night. Look at that face,
[4:03] eyebrows up and all. Let's see how she did. I apologized that day to that staffer four years ago.
[4:10] And I took responsibility then. And I have taken responsibility since,
[4:15] acknowledging that it was not the right way to treat someone. And that is a big contrast to what
[4:20] we have seen other candidates do when they have been called out for misconduct. I'm proud that that
[4:25] staffer in that video and I continued to work together for four years following that incident.
[4:30] And it speaks to how I addressed it. So she did a great job. Model citizen. And does anybody actually
[4:37] believe she apologized to that staffer that day? Let me know in the comments. And here's her reply
[4:42] to the interview. And I would say that if somebody is treating you rudely, you should speak up. And
[4:48] that's what I would want my children to do. And that's what I did when I was being pushed again and
[4:52] again and again to kowtow to give in and defend Donald Trump when he was engaged in despicable
[5:00] actions. I wasn't going to do that for that reporter. And I will not do it as governor.
[5:05] Something about a cow and Trump. So let's wrap up the Democrats. Here's Becerra and Mahan. Real quick,
[5:12] hit that subscribe button means a lot to us. Let's check it out.
[5:15] A California Highway Patrol officer was recorded giving a roadside English proficiency test to a
[5:22] commercial truck driver. Let's take a look at the video. Do me a favor. Tell me what this sign means.
[5:30] Uh huh. So what do you, what does this mean? What is it telling you? Uh huh. What does this sign mean?
[5:43] So California is the only state that won't abide by a law that says semi truck drivers need to know how
[5:50] to speak English to read roadsides and speak to police. The question is, will he abide by the law or will he
[5:55] fight the Trump administration? Go. I would definitely push back on the Trump administration
[6:00] on again, a reckless policy. I would make sure that that officer understands that he cannot discriminate
[6:05] against any driver without having a basis to do so. Uh, I understood a little bit of what that
[6:10] individual was trying to say. I don't, I couldn't see the sign, but it certainly sounded like he was
[6:15] trying to describe what that particular sign was trying to represent. And so we have to be very careful
[6:20] that we're not profiling consumers in California, drivers in California. It is against
[6:25] the law, but let's not find that people are being discriminated against because of what they look
[6:29] like. Is that officer asking everyone he pulls over to, to explain those road signs? Or is he
[6:35] asking only people who look like me? So he understood what that guy was saying when he went,
[6:41] and then he took the position that English proficiency when driving a semi truck is racist.
[6:46] Let's hear what Mahan had to say. No, Frank, the right answer here is clearly to hold the DMV accountable
[6:52] for ensuring that every driver on our roadway meets the qualifications for the license that they have,
[6:58] but we should never lower the standard that agencies like the DMV enforce. As governor,
[7:04] I will also ensure that every state agency lives up to its responsibility. That actually sounded like
[7:10] some common sense. If Democrats really wanted to appease the independents, they would be backing him,
[7:15] but he's in last place because I guess he's not woke enough. Next, let's look at the red side of the
[7:20] field. Here is Chad Bianco, Riverside County Sheriff for 33 years. Same question. Here we go.
[7:26] My guess is he was stopped for violating a sign and he's trying to verify that he could.
[7:32] And let's stop with this whole racism thing and racial profiling and all of this garbage.
[7:38] We have to get over this. You either violated the law or you didn't. Californians are absolutely sick
[7:43] and tired of our politicians making race the basis of everything. So Bianca was spitting bullets last
[7:49] night. He was fierce. He was aggressive. He was well-spoken. He was very anti-woke.
[7:53] I guess my only criticism is remember who your audience is. This is California. So when you say
[7:59] Democrats screwed everything up, you're speaking to Democrats. You need their votes, right? So maybe
[8:04] refer to the Democratic politicians as somebody else like the establishment or the career politicians or
[8:12] something like that. So last but not least, here's the front runner Steve Hilton. So did he solidify his lead
[8:17] last night? Did he lose a little bit? Was it kind of a mediocre performance? Next he's asked about his
[8:23] endorsement from Trump. Here's what he had to say. One of the proudest days of my life was the day I
[8:29] became an American citizen. It happened in a ceremony right here in San Francisco. So it is a deep honor
[8:36] for me to be endorsed by the president of the United States is that we will have a constructive
[8:42] relationship and partnership with the federal government work with the president and his
[8:49] administration. So I hear what he's saying, but I just don't think that was enough. And again,
[8:53] remember your audience, that actually might have been the kiss of death. But to his credit,
[8:58] he's the only candidate that went after other candidates. To be honest, most of the debate was
[9:02] pretty PC. So bottom line, on the Democrat side, I think Mahan was the best candidate, most common
[9:07] sense based. But will they get behind them? Or is he not woke enough? On the Republican side,
[9:12] I actually think Bianco did better. In fact, I actually think Bianco won the whole night. I
[9:17] thought he was the most well spoken. But let's see what happens in the next poll. By the way,
