Trump's Election Fraud Speech & Mike Slater on Faith and Politics — July 15, 2026

[0:05] Very important speech by President Trump tomorrow night. [0:08] I was on a Hannity radio program today. [0:11] It's posted on BillOReilly.com. [0:14] And Hannity had good information because he talks to Trump a lot. [0:19] And he was telling me that it's going to center on a lot of fraud about 2020 election. [0:26] And the president, of course, is entirely convinced and nobody's going to unconvince him that that election was rigged. [0:35] And I said, and this is absolutely true, that in order to engage the American public on this issue, six years later, [0:45] the president has to get very specific in who did what. [0:51] Can't be general. [0:53] Same thing with Iran. [0:54] Now, Hannity doesn't think he's going to discuss Iran. [0:58] I do. [0:59] We'll see who's right. [1:01] So he almost has to update the nation on Iran because everybody is being affected by it. [1:07] So anyway, we have we will not be broadcasting on Friday, as you know, but I'm going to do a message sometime early Friday and then a column on Sunday about the president's speech. [1:23] But again, clarification, if President Trump wants to continue leading the nation in a powerful position, [1:34] it has to happen or the Republicans will lose the midterms and we're going to give you the numbers. [1:41] We have new numbers tonight. [1:43] And that is the subject of the talking points memo. [1:46] So let's put me in charge of writing this speech. [1:51] And and President Trump could do worse. [1:54] So I sit down and my mind is linear. [1:57] I go A to B to C to D. [1:58] I don't wonder, you know, you read my books, 20 bestsellers, number one bestsellers, I should say. [2:06] And I'm telling you a story. [2:09] That's what I do. [2:09] I'm a storyteller from the ancient Irish tradition. [2:13] That was the gift I was born with. [2:16] I tell stories. [2:18] Now, the story here is probably broken up into three areas. [2:24] Number one, President Trump's passion that the election was rigged of 2020. [2:31] OK, whatever he's got, he's got to put it all out there tomorrow. [2:38] And this guy did this. [2:41] This guy did that. [2:42] Here's how it affected the vote. [2:45] Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. [2:48] OK, that's number one. [2:49] But two, he's got to say, look, here's where we are with Iran and here's what could happen. [2:59] I don't expect him to give us the battle plan. [3:02] That would be foolish. [3:03] OK, but here's what we can expect. [3:07] And I hope it doesn't turn out that way or whatever phrase he wants to use. [3:12] As a speechwriter, you always consult with the president or whoever you're writing the speech for. [3:18] And the third is the economy, because the Trump economy is pretty good. [3:24] But you ask Americans, they don't know that. [3:27] And they're never going to get it from the corporate media, ever. [3:33] I wouldn't spend a lot of time tomorrow on the economy because he does want to get this election stuff out. [3:39] And Iran is kind of up there above the economy right now because Iran drives the high prices. [3:48] OK, so a couple of interesting things surrounding the Thursday speech. [3:53] Number one, the White House has not asked for time from the networks yet. [3:59] It's at 9 p.m. at the White House. [4:03] Now, Fox will take it. [4:04] News Nation will take it. [4:06] Newsmax will take it. [4:07] So you'll be able to see it if you want to. [4:10] But ABC, NBC and CBS haven't been asked yet. [4:13] I suspect they will not take it. [4:15] But I could be wrong on that. [4:17] Depends on what they what they have and what's going on. [4:21] But you'll be able to see it and hear it on the radio. [4:29] Also, the left, the far left, progressive left, doesn't want anybody to hear the speech. [4:37] This is an amazing thing. [4:40] All right. [4:40] Here's Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez. [4:45] Go. [4:45] I don't think that we should be contributing to any platforming of lies about our election. [4:58] And so I think that, you know, I mean, many of these many news outlets oftentimes may receive transcripts. [5:07] And I think that we have an ethical obligation to not air things that undermine our elections that are not rooted in evidence and fact. [5:20] All right. [5:21] So that's what the communists do. [5:23] You can't have an opposing point of view in Beijing or Moscow or Havana or Hanoi. [5:33] You can't. [5:35] The government puts on something Putin doesn't like. [5:37] A person who puts it on, bye. [5:41] OK. [5:42] That's what she wants. [5:42] No, no, no, no, no, not we'll put the speech on and then we'll analyze the speech for accuracy, which is what we do in a democracy. [5:52] OK. [5:53] No, nobody should take it. [5:56] It's very important that the American public understand the mindset of Miss Ocasio-Cortez and Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren and Mayor Mandani. [6:10] You've got to understand where they're coming from. [6:14] And that is a hard left place. [6:17] And if you don't understand that, it's to your peril. [6:25] These are revolutionaries. [10:02] 35% Republicans will retain both houses, full control. [10:08] So Dems look like they have a fairly significant advantage here. [10:12] That can change overnight. [10:14] Okay. [10:14] House of Representatives, 39% chance the Republicans retain the house. [10:21] 62% chance Democrats win the house. [10:27] Okay. [10:28] That's all about money in people's pockets. [10:32] That's what this is about. [10:34] Okay. [10:35] Finally, the Senate, 57% chance Republicans retain the Senate. [10:40] 43% Democrats win it. [10:43] So those are the latest numbers. [10:46] Do I have any quibble with those numbers? [10:48] I do not. [10:50] But they can change in a heartbeat with victory. [10:59] Americans like winners. [11:03] Okay. [11:03] Now, one guy who follows this stuff every day as I do is named Mike Slater. [11:09] You may know him because he is the radio guy we use. [11:44] And then I come on again as a third part of the commentary, where there's something you might not know, [11:52] which has really caught on, because we give you a lot of good information. [11:56] So anyway, Slater, who's been around forever, he's a good broadcaster. [12:01] He used to live in San Diego. [12:02] He's a local San Diego radio guy and lived out there. [12:06] And San Diego is a beautiful place to live, or at least was. [12:09] I haven't been there in a while. [12:12] And he moved to Tennessee, Slater. [12:14] And he does a podcast every day, five originals, two reruns, called Politics by Faith. [12:26] He joins us now from Nashville. [12:29] So are you a holy roller now? [12:31] What are you now? [12:32] Are you, what are you? [12:35] Yeah, I've been so for about 12 years. [12:36] We like to thump the Bible on Politics by Faith, Bill O'Reilly. [12:40] We thump it over there unapologetically. [12:42] Okay, give me an example of a theme that Politics by Faith would take on. [12:53] Let me give you the genesis, if I may, of why we started this podcast. [12:57] I felt that people were very full of anxiety, Bill. [13:02] It's important to bring in the headlines, understand the news and what's happening. [13:05] But I saw that people were being taken out with anxiety. [13:08] And that's not good. [13:09] We have a country to save. [13:10] And if we have anxiety, then we're not going to be able to think clearly. [13:14] And Hebrews 11 and 12 starts off with, [13:16] Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. [13:20] And then it goes into all the characters in the Bible. [13:23] So by faith, Abel, by faith, Enoch, by faith, Abraham. [13:27] And they talk about these incredible saints. [13:29] If I may, Mr. O'Reilly, give a shout out to one of your books, Killing England. [13:34] Anyone listening now who's read the book Killing England, [13:36] and then you go see the movie Young Washington, it's all there. [13:40] Everything from your book is in the movie Young Washington. [13:43] But Young Washington and the men and women in Virginia that he fought for, [13:46] they never lost heart. [13:48] And they never lost sight of providence and God's hand over the affairs of man [13:53] and the affairs of nations. [13:55] And that's what we do. [13:56] We understand that God is in control and that there's nothing new under the sun. [14:01] I'll just give you one example. [14:02] Lindsey Graham passing away the other day. [14:05] What do we do with that? [14:06] What lessons can we learn from that? [14:08] We talked about Ecclesiastes 7. [14:10] Bill, last time you were on my radio show, [14:12] if you remember, I asked you, what do you want your legacy to be? [14:15] Do you remember what you said? [14:17] No, I can't remember what I did yesterday. [14:20] Bill, you said, my legacy doesn't concern me. [14:24] I do what's right in the moment. [14:26] That is, I don't know if you knew it, [14:27] but you quoted essentially Ecclesiastes 2.16, [14:30] which says, for the wise, like the fool, will not be long remembered. [14:35] And that sounds like a downer, but it's not. [14:36] It's about focusing on eternal things. [14:40] So that's just an example. [14:41] Anything in the news, we bring it to the Bible, [14:42] and we try to get rid of our anxiety. [14:44] All right, and it's a good thing to have people be optimistic or hopeful [14:48] that the situation, whatever it may be, [14:53] is going to turn in a positive way. [14:56] Now, you yourself, are you a religious guy? [14:59] I mean, what faith are you? [15:01] Were you raised in a home that was very religious? [15:04] No, I was a Christ-er growing up, Bill. [15:07] We went on Christmas and Easter. [15:09] That was it. [15:10] It wasn't until I moved to Tennessee [15:12] when I first started to learn about the Bible and understand. [15:15] So it's been about 14 years since I was baptized. [15:18] All right, so you were kind of a semi-atheist, [15:22] or any of you guys, your family didn't really engage in organized religion. [15:26] And then you, as many people do, saw the light [15:32] and decided to become interested in the deity and theology. [15:38] When you do the podcast, it just seems to me [15:42] that you are relying upon unreality. [15:48] Let me explain that. [15:50] So when I wrote Killing Jesus, the intent of the book, [15:54] and it succeeded phenomenally, was to portray Jesus as a human being. [16:03] And we don't have any miracles in there [16:04] because he couldn't verify the meaning. [16:06] He couldn't do any of that. [16:08] All right, and we didn't take Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, [16:11] or any of the New Testament, or any of the Old Testament [16:13] to set up anything. [16:15] All we did was we went down the line, [16:18] and here's a 32-year-old guy who's murdered by the Romans. [16:22] Why was he murdered? [16:24] All right? [16:24] And under that banner, we were able to get into his philosophy. [16:31] I mean, remember, Jesus of Nazareth, [16:34] I never call him Jesus Christ, by the way, [16:36] because Christ is a symbol of God. [16:41] And we call him the Nazarene or Jesus of Nazareth. [16:45] But he's the most famous person on earth and always will be, [16:50] which is pretty startling for a stonecutter from a small town [16:57] that nobody ever heard of, Nazareth. [16:59] That's pretty shocking. [17:01] There's got to be something there, and that's how we went, [17:04] how we rolled, they say. [17:07] Your podcast is more of a traditional, [17:12] this is what the theology says. [17:16] Or am I wrong? [17:17] No, I think that's right. [17:19] It's the theology and just the history. [17:22] I'd like to go back to Old Testament stories [17:24] and relate things that have happened today [17:27] to battles that have happened in the past [17:29] and the great men that are in this historical book as well. [17:34] I just love the idea that there's nothing new under the sun. [17:37] Okay, so you're not taking the Old Testament literally, are you? [17:42] I am indeed. [17:44] So you believe that everything in the Old Testament happened? [17:48] I do. [17:49] The frog, the plagues in Egypt, the frogs came down, [17:54] they chased them around, the Red Sea parted, [17:58] they went through the Red Sea. [18:00] You, Mike Slater, you're believing that. [18:02] Mr. O'Reilly, at the risk of losing my opening, [18:07] starting three minutes of your O'Reilly update, [18:10] I believe every word of the Bible is true [18:12] as it is written literally. [18:13] Okay, and believe me, your beliefs should be respected. [18:18] Anybody running it down or anybody denying it [18:21] is anti-democratic and foolish, in my opinion. [18:26] Now let's turn to a lifestyle situation. [18:30] So you're out there in San Diego, [18:31] I guess you're surfing every afternoon after your radio shift [18:34] or whatever you're doing, whatever they do in San Diego. [18:37] Okay, I've been to San Diego a dozen times [18:39] and I always enjoyed myself. [18:41] It's gone downhill as all of California has. [18:44] And then you decide for family reasons, [18:46] because your wife is a Tennessean, to go to Tennessee. [18:50] So you move the family to Tennessee. [18:53] Primarily, what is the difference [18:56] between San Diego and Nashville? [18:59] What have you seen? [19:00] Yeah, the thing that's speaking to me right now, [19:03] and I'm really curious your take on this, Bill, [19:05] is how beautiful it is. [19:08] Tennessee. [19:09] Tennessee is stunningly beautiful, the land here. [19:12] Now I know you said California, San Diego in particular [19:14] is beautiful. [19:15] It's not. [19:17] The distinction I've realized over time [19:19] is the weather's nice, [19:20] but that's very different than it is beautiful. [19:24] It actually is not that beautiful. [19:25] It's desert. [19:26] It doesn't speak, that land doesn't speak to me. [19:27] Tennessee with its rolling hills and beautiful trees [19:31] and it's lush and it's green. [19:32] It's so beautiful. [19:33] I was, we were at Monticello recently. [19:35] We went there for the fourth. [19:36] We brought the kids out there. [19:38] And you're standing on this Monticello Italian [19:41] for a little mountain. [19:42] And you look around at the Blue Ridge Mountains. [19:45] You're just like, yeah, of course. [19:47] Of course Thomas Jefferson fought for this land. [19:50] Of course he said, [19:51] the king's not gonna tell me what to do. [19:53] I think the land is really powerful. [19:54] And Tennessee is full of people [19:55] who really, really wanna fight for this country [19:58] and fight for this land. [19:59] Yeah, it's a red state [20:02] and conservative thinkers mostly. [20:05] What about socially? [20:08] Did you have to make any adjustments [20:09] coming from California to Tennessee? [20:12] No, Tennessee is my people. [20:14] My first job out of college [20:16] was also in Tennessee, West Tennessee. [20:17] Shout out to Jackson, Tennessee. [20:19] And that's just where I really cut my teeth [20:21] in conservatism [20:22] and where I started to learn the Bible. [20:24] So it's always been a second home to me. [20:27] I call myself a born again Tennessean [20:28] and then home obviously for my wife. [20:30] One thing I also love about Tennessee [20:32] and this speaks maybe I think to your social point [20:34] or question is Tennessee is built around towns. [20:38] So there's all these towns [20:39] where you have the courthouse in the middle [20:41] and then town square around it with local businesses. [20:43] And then the school's right a block away [20:45] and the community is around that. [20:47] And it's all very town focused [20:48] and San Diego in particular, it's not. [20:51] It's like highway and corporate slop [20:54] and strip malls [20:57] and it's just all blends together and blah. [20:59] And you lose a lot of that sense of community [21:01] that I think is really important for raising a family. [21:04] Yeah. [21:04] And I mean, obviously Tennessee is a lot older [21:07] than San Diego as far as the development is concerned. [21:12] And that goes all the way back to Andrew Jackson [21:15] and Davy Crockett, a fascinating state. [21:17] All right, Mike, the podcast is Politics by Faith.
