Trump defends naval blockade, says US will not allow ‘blackmail’

planned [0:25] with duran and if so will you send vice president jayden vanston well he's done a good job at steve [0:32] and jared they've all done a very good job and i can tell you that we've been called by the other [0:38] side they'd like to make a deal very badly very badly what was the sticking point over you said [0:44] it was over nuclear it was over nuclear very similar yeah very good i guess you're listening [0:49] it's over the fact that they will never have a nuclear weapon iran you market it down iran [0:55] will not have a nuclear weapon and we agreed to a lot of things but they didn't agree to that [1:02] and i think they will agree to it i'm almost sure of it in fact i am sure of it if they don't agree [1:07] there's no deal there'll never be a deal iran will not have a nuclear weapon and we're going to get [1:12] the dust back we'll get it back either we'll get it back from them or we'll take it mr president as [1:17] far as the naval blockade is concerned what's the end game is it to force iran back to the negotiating [1:22] people is it to open up the straights so the gas prices ultimately come back maybe everything i [1:27] mean both of those things certainly and more we can't let a country blackmail or extort uh the world [1:37] because that's what they're doing they're really blackmailing the world we're not going to let that [1:40] happen and you know the amazing thing is um we don't can you believe this we don't use the straight [1:47] we don't need the shirt we have our own oil and gas much more than we need we have more oil and gas [1:52] and saudi arabia think of this we produce more saudi arabia and add russia to it substantially more [2:00] and by next year we'll have double that amount so we don't need it but the world needs it and [2:06] many ships are heading to our country right now as we speak to load up with the best really i guess you [2:13] could say somebody said the best and sweetest i don't know exactly what sweet is but when it relates [2:19] to oil it's a good thing uh but they're coming to our country right now there are many boats coming [2:24] to our country now it could very well be this is going to be settled before that we've been called [2:30] this morning by the right people the appropriate people and they want to work a deal they would [2:35] like to work a deal is it your anticipation mr president that other countries will assist in [2:40] this effort to blockade iran and those yeah other countries are going to also we don't need [2:46] other countries frankly but uh they've offered the services we'll let it we'll let it be known [2:52] probably tomorrow has the lock eight started sir yeah started at 10 o'clock [3:07] no i don't because pope leo said things that are wrong uh he was very much against what i'm doing [3:14] with re with regard to iran and you cannot have a nuclear iran pope leo would not be happy with the [3:20] end result you have hundreds of millions of people dead and it's not going to happen so i can't uh i [3:27] think he's very weak on crime and other things so i'm not i mean he went public i'm just responding to [3:33] pope leo and you know his brother is a big mega person and he's a great guy lewis and i said i like [3:40] lewis better than i like the pope now you have to have law and order in our country and that's what [3:46] we have now we have the lowest crime numbers we've had in a long time despite the fact that many [3:51] criminals were allowed into our country but we've gotten a lot of them out we've done a great job on [3:55] crime so we have the lowest murder rate in 125 years since 1900 the lowest murder rate so we believe [4:05] strongly in law and order and he he seemed to have a problem with that so there's nothing to apologize [4:12] for he's wrong and the other thing is he didn't like what we're doing with respect to iran but iran is [4:18] a uh wants to be a nuclear nation so they can exterminate the world not going to happen [4:28] deal is not reached by the end of the season does your threat from before still stand yeah i don't want [4:34] to comment on that but it won't be pleasant for them let me put it that way [4:40] has your timetable changed in any way in terms of ending this conflict no we're just just going [4:46] it's going on just right now there's no fighting right now we have a blockade uh they're doing no [4:52] business i didn't like seeing boats come out if they were doing business with iran but if there [4:57] weren't no boats came out so now they're doing iran is doing absolutely no business and we're going to [5:03] keep it that way very easily don't forget their navy is gone their air force is gone their anti-aircraft [5:08] is gone their radar is gone and their leaders are gone it's a lot [5:16] from predominantly going to china mr president has has no but we have a very good relationship with [5:23] china he would like to see this ended also he certainly wants it ended every everyone i want [5:29] to see it ended too but uh we can't give a nuclear weapon to a group of people that have caused nothing [5:36] but havoc for 47 years look i'm the president that's done something about it this should have been [5:43] and many other presidents regret that they didn't you know so i'm doing something about [5:48] ukraine impeachment documents that were just declassified show that eric charonella not only [5:53] submitted false information but that he had no direct knowledge of the alleged conversations [5:59] here say do you feel indicated by those yeah i do are there a bunch of crooked people you're talking [6:04] about with respect to uh all of the things that they put against me yeah well it's come out that in [6:10] so many different ways thank you very much for that question i appreciate it but in so many different [6:15] ways the election was rigged the 2020 election was rigged we found that out what you just said is [6:21] just a piece of that it's a a big piece but minor relatively speaking compared to what they did they [6:27] cheated on the election they cheated on the vote and they cheated in every way possible and it's the [6:32] only way we got an incompetent man to be a president and he was an incompetent man many of the things that [6:37] we're talking about even including this this would have been settled a long time ago not now and it should [6:43] have been settled by other presidents but the election was a rigged election we can't let that happen to [6:48] our country well it's very serious charge against them and the democrats they cheat they can't get [6:59] elected with their policy so their policy is no good uh they want to have uh i mean open borders [7:06] they want to have men playing in women's sport do you you mr president is it your understanding that during this [7:27] period of time while the u.s has instituted this naval blockade that oil companies will be able to send [7:33] their oil tankers through the strait get more oil out from this area yeah i think they're going to be [7:38] doing very well there and i think they're doing very well here you know a lot of tankers are coming [7:43] up gonna do this and we may stop by cuba after we're finished with [8:52] this but uh cuba is a nation that was just been horribly run for many years by castro you said [8:59] may stop watching regulator bill pulte um regarding those two recent referrals uh for letitia james [9:05] for an insurance fraud do you know if federal prosecutors have evidence to charge well i don't [9:10] know i know she's a very corrupt person and the you're talking about the so-called attorney general [9:16] of new york she's a very corrupt person that's been proven now and i know they i have nothing [9:23] to do with it but they're looking at things all over all over the place more than one state [9:28] concerning her and concerning people like comey who's a dirty cop uh comey's a dirty cop and dirty [9:36] cops a bit i love nobody likes the police more than me law enforcement more than me but comey's a totally [9:43] dirty cop and they're not gonna we're not gonna stand for it yeah the ufc fight is happening at the [9:49] white house this summer the ufc typically numbers those fights consecutively but should they label [9:54] this one ufc 1776 that's a good idea i'll tell that to dana white i like that idea i will say i've [10:02] been involved with a lot of big events i've never had an event that's had more interest in the ufc fight [10:08] that we have right at the front door right there they're going to start building a about a 4 500 seat [10:13] arena and then in the back at the ellipse we're going to have uh maybe a hundred thousand fifty [10:19] to a hundred thousand people i guess they're building tremendous uh stages and you're gonna [10:25] have massive screens of the fight and it's you know very popular sport but i have never been involved [10:31] because of the white house and everything you know there's a lot of reasons for it but we're having a [10:36] fight at the white house on june 14th and we're gonna have an arena built right at the front door [10:42] and you know if you want is your husband up to coming you think does he like ufc he might if [10:48] he's feeling good we'll make sure you come okay that would be wonderful that's better than the tip [10:53] quite know what donald trump might say at any [13:00] particular moment in time within those particular statements some of it obviously relevant to what [13:05] we're covering some of it not some of it substantiated some of it not but he he did reiterate that uh [13:11] that he believes that iran wants a deal very badly in response to the talks in islamabad on the [13:17] strait of humus he said this is all about iran not having a nuclear weapon uh we can't let a [13:22] nation extort the world he said we don't use the straight maintained donald trump we don't need it [13:27] the world needs it our chief u.s correspondent alan fisher been following that also from washington dc [13:35] alan um it sounds very much like donald trump feels that the u.s has the upper hand at the start of [13:40] this naval operation in the strait of humus well that was a kind of odd event i think donald trump [13:46] summed our best when we saw that he was getting a food delivery opened the door of the oval office [13:52] and said this doesn't look staged which of course it absolutely did and was all about trying to make [13:57] a point about people getting tax cuts through his big beautiful bill the so-called big beautiful bill [14:03] but of course the attention really is on the start of this blockade that has been imposed on the [14:08] strait of humus and is now three hours old donald trump saying that they simply couldn't let another [14:14] nation extort the world with blockading or using the strait of humus or charging people [14:20] to absolutely use it and he said that they are doing no business and we can keep it that way [14:25] keep it very easily what is important though is that he didn't close the door on a deal we know [14:32] there are more than 20 hours of talks in islamabad at the weekend jd vance came back to washington dc [14:38] after those talks we know that the iranian delegation stayed in pakistan and we are told [14:44] that they are back channel negotiations going on donald trump clearly sees no nuclear weapons as a [14:51] bottom line something that the omanis said that the iranians had agreed to in previous talks before [14:56] the war started but the iranians also have a number of red lines as well that includes not restarting the [15:03] war they've made the point that twice they've been in negotiations with the united states and twice [15:09] the united states has attacked them donald trump again talking in general terms talking to saying [15:15] how well they're doing that they've destroyed the navy destroyed the air force he did of course just an [15:20] hour or so ago put out a social media message about the small attack boats that iran has and he warned [15:27] that if they did attack anything to do with the blockade then they would be essentially blown out of [15:33] the water so donald trump giving his view of what is happening with the blockade we weren't expecting [15:38] to hear from him today he has no public events clearly this was staged for political benefit [15:44] but it's also important that when he's talking about things like tax he's aware of the financial impact [15:50] that this war is having on people in the united states and how that is being reflected in the support [15:56] in the polls for donald trump and the republican party uh alan help us with this one because he also said [16:01] ships are coming to our countries the suggestion that the the blockade and the straight of hormuz [16:06] is a win-win situation for the us well it's interesting that donald trump has now on a couple [16:12] of occasions talked about how other nations are willing to help the united states yet as you heard [16:17] he won't say which countries he thinks they'll have names by tomorrow that may well be that people [16:23] were surprised that the blockade was announced not least because donald trump has spent the last four [16:27] weeks trying to ensure that the street of hormuz remains open so there's every possibility that [16:33] countries may want to help and are speaking to the united states but haven't made a firm commitment yet [16:39] we know that keir starmer the the united kingdom has already said the uk won't be involved we hope [16:44] maybe to get more names from the white house from the administration at some point in the coming [16:49] hours and possibly by
