[0:00] The President.
[0:01] Yes, please.
[0:02] The Press.
[0:03] The Press.
[0:04] Mr. President, two questions on healthcare,
[0:05] if that's okay.
[0:06] You kept reiterating that this generous program
[0:08] has 50-state participation.
[0:09] Do you think this is an admission from many
[0:12] Democrat officials who agreed to participate,
[0:14] that your most favored nation, drug deals,
[0:16] are actually effective at lowering prescription
[0:19] prices?
[0:20] The President.
[0:22] The President.
[0:23] Well, the Democrats were — they didn't help,
[0:25] but they all signed up.
[0:26] I mean, they all signed up, and they signed up
[0:27] quickly.
[0:28] Every one of them.
[0:29] Nobody even threatened a little bit that they
[0:32] weren't going to sign up.
[0:33] Every state came on board almost immediately.
[0:36] I mean, if we had the process perfected,
[0:40] literally in one day, everybody would have been.
[0:42] But they signed up within a matter of weeks,
[0:44] every single state.
[0:46] Some asked questions.
[0:47] I mean, I had some governors call me saying,
[0:49] is this really true, or is this some kind of
[0:51] an April Fool's Day?
[0:53] But they all signed up, and they can't believe it,
[0:56] and their healthcare costs are way down because of it.
[0:58] Yeah, please.
[0:59] Mr. President, earlier today you posted that you
[1:02] intend to ban CNN, Politico, and MSNOW from the White House.
[1:07] Yeah.
[1:08] Every president takes an oath to uphold the Constitution,
[1:11] which includes the First Amendment.
[1:12] Yeah, I do, too.
[1:13] I do, too.
[1:14] How do you justify —
[1:15] Much more so than you.
[1:17] Is this —
[1:18] Because they're fake news.
[1:19] You get so tired of reading and seeing fake news.
[1:24] When you look at CNN, it's just fake.
[1:27] That's why their ratings are no good.
[1:29] When you look at MSNOW, which used to be MSNBC,
[1:33] which some people call MSNOW, Democratic National Committee.
[1:38] It's fake news.
[1:40] It's fake news.
[1:41] And —
[1:42] Excuse me.
[1:43] Excuse me.
[1:44] And when you look at — it's Politico.
[1:46] I mean, they got a government — the government under —
[1:49] Biden gave them like $8 million to keep them afloat.
[1:53] And the stories they wrote are fake.
[1:55] So there's a lot of news.
[1:57] And there may be others to join them.
[1:59] And maybe they can get better and would like to have them in.
[2:01] But our country has to have honest news.
[2:03] You know, you don't have a country unless you have,
[2:05] as I say, borders, good voting.
[2:08] We're straightening them out.
[2:09] The borders are unbelievable.
[2:11] Nobody's come into our country in the last 17 months illegally.
[2:15] But you need borders.
[2:17] And you need fair and free voting.
[2:19] And you know what you need?
[2:20] You need a free press.
[2:22] You need a fair press and an honest press.
[2:24] And CNN — and you know it.
[2:26] And everybody knows it.
[2:27] You're intelligent.
[2:28] I've known you a long time.
[2:29] You know how fake their reporting is.
[2:31] It's one-sided.
[2:32] It's never good.
[2:34] I've done many, many — look at this story today about
[2:37] favored nations on drugs.
[2:39] We lowered the drug causes by 50, 60, 70 percent.
[2:42] They won't even put it — if they put it on, it'll be a leg.
[2:46] They will find a reason why that's a negative.
[2:48] Okay?
[2:49] Yeah.
[2:50] But why are you doing this ban now?
[2:53] Is there a particular reason?
[2:54] No reason.
[2:55] No.
[2:56] Just because —
[2:57] No.
[2:58] No.
[2:59] It's really just cumulative stories over the last two years.
[3:03] You get sick of it.
[3:04] And you call them and you tell them —
[3:06] I have very good experts, like people behind me.
[3:09] Bobby Oz.
[3:10] They call and they try and explain things to —
[3:13] They know that they know it.
[3:14] They know it as well.
[3:15] They're smart people.
[3:16] But they purposely write negative news.
[3:18] And they do that because they want to try and diminish the Republicans
[3:23] and a Republican administration.
[3:26] And honestly, we've done a fantastic job.
[3:29] Look at the numbers.
[3:30] Look at the economic numbers.
[3:31] We have more money coming into our country today than ever before.
[3:35] We have the highest employment that we've ever had in history.
[3:38] All of these things are the lowest —
[3:40] We have the best poverty rate, the lowest poverty rate in the history of our country.
[3:45] And people are making more money today than they ever had.
[3:48] And we do have something that I'm very proud of.
[3:51] Iran will not have a nuclear weapon.
[3:53] Now, for that, people are going to have to pay some extra gas.
[3:56] I think most people, if they had a vote on lower gas prices
[4:00] or letting Iran have a nuclear weapon, I'd be willing to vote that it would be a massive landslide.
[4:07] People don't want to have Iran have a nuclear weapon.
[4:10] And you know what? They won't.
[4:11] And the war is going to end soon.
[4:13] And when it ends, your gas prices are going to drop to a level that they were before, maybe even lower.
[4:19] When I left Iowa, just before I started this, I had no choice.
[4:22] I said to my people, I'm going to have to do an excursion down to Iran, the Islamic Republic of Iran,
[4:29] because they're going to have a nuclear —
[4:30] If we don't hit them with the B-2 bombers, they right now would have a nuclear weapon.
[4:36] And if they had it, it would be a matter of days.
[4:39] I equate it somewhat to the Democrats.
[4:43] If they ever got into power, they will terminate the filibuster.
[4:48] And they will immediately have D.C. as a state.
[4:51] They will immediately have many other things take place.
[4:56] But D.C. and Puerto Rico will become immediately.
[4:59] That gives them four more senators.
[5:01] That gives them lots of other things, like 12 congressmen.
[5:05] They want to have, ideally, 21 Supreme Court justices.
[5:11] They will have everything they ever dreamed of.
[5:13] And, frankly, Republicans should terminate the filibuster.
[5:18] Because if you don't do it, they're going to do it.
[5:20] And you can't let that happen.
[5:22] Mr. President, Willie Nelson with Salem Media.
[5:28] Mr. President, reports say the holdout juror in the Lindsey Clancy case —
[5:32] and his family were doxxed and threatened so badly he left Massachusetts.
[5:37] What's your take on that?
[5:38] Well, I just don't know.
[5:39] I think the case is very sad.
[5:40] It's a horrible thing.
[5:41] She was on all sorts of drugs.
[5:42] And she was very messed up.
[5:43] She killed three children, her three children.
[5:45] It's a very tough situation.
[5:46] And I know the jury was certainly not a friendly one in terms of that one person.
[5:51] But it's not for me.
[5:52] Look, you had a jury and the jury was hung.
[5:53] And we'll see whether or not they have another trial.
[5:54] Well, Mr. President, many leading Democrats have condemned far-left streamer Hassan Piker.
[5:58] What is your take on him?
[6:00] And do you think he's a liability for Democrats heading into the division?
[6:01] I do.
[6:02] I think he's a terrible person.
[6:03] He's a terrible person.
[6:04] He's a terrible person.
[6:05] I think he's a terrible person.
[6:06] He's a terrible person.
[6:07] I think he's a terrible person.
[6:08] He messed up.
[6:09] He messed up.
[6:10] She killed three children, her three children.
[6:11] It's a very tough situation.
[6:12] And I know the jury was certainly not a friendly one in terms of that one person.
[6:16] But I think he's a terrible person.
[6:17] I think he's a terrible person.
[6:18] He's a terrible person.
[6:19] I think he's a terrible person.
[6:20] He's a terrible person.
[6:21] I think he's a terrible person.
[6:22] I think he's got a power over some of these Democrats.
[6:24] And he'll be voting that way.
[6:25] I mean, he's a communist.
[6:26] There's no question about it.
[6:27] And the Democrats have a lot of communists.
[6:28] And the communists can hold up the party.
[6:29] Because it only takes a few votes when you have a close election.
[6:34] Well, you'll have a fairly close.
[6:37] I hope the Republicans are going to do well.
[6:39] But you're going to have, it's going to be pretty close.
[6:40] And a group of three, four, five, ten people can steer a party in a certain direction.
[6:53] That's, you know, both parties.
[6:55] Yeah, no, he's a guy who's very, I mean, his statements are so bad.
[7:01] How a Jewish person could vote for a Democrat is not even, if you think of it, not even believable.
[7:08] And yet they will. It's amazing.
[7:11] But it is not possible in a world of rationality that somebody who's Jewish,
[7:17] that somebody who's black could vote to be a Democrat, could vote for a Democrat.
[7:22] The things that have been said about different groups of people by them are incredible.
[7:30] And the mainstream Democrats, I know many of them and I'm friendly with many of them,
[7:35] but they've gone way left because they've had no choice.
[7:39] Not because they, they don't believe it.
[7:40] They know communism has never worked.
[7:42] They know socialism has never worked.
[7:44] But these people are petrified of the radical left.
[7:50] And he's one of them, yes.
[7:51] Mr. President, Polish leaders have expressed concerns that Russia may attack Ukrainian allies.
[7:59] Do you agree with that assessment?
[8:01] Well, I think they already have attacked Ukrainian allies.
[8:05] They've been attacking Ukrainian allies for approximately five minutes.
[8:08] And then, Mr. President...
[8:09] I do agree with that.
[8:10] I think everyone agrees with that.
[8:11] Mr. President, we have the press...
[8:12] Yeah.
[8:13] No, go ahead.
[8:14] Um, Congressman...
[8:15] Did you mean Ukrainian or not?
[8:16] I'm Ukraine.
[8:17] So, Poland is concerned...
[8:18] You mean they're, are they concerned that they're going to attack Poland?
[8:21] Yeah.
[8:22] Yeah, they might attack Poland.
[8:23] Well, you have a great president.
[8:24] He was a big Trump fan.
[8:27] He was in 12th place.
[8:28] I endorsed him.
[8:29] And now he's president.
[8:31] And he's doing a fantastic job.
[8:33] And he is, uh, he's got it under control.
[8:36] He's got it under control.
[8:37] And then, um, Congresswoman Maria Salazar filmed a video outside the White House the other day disagreeing with your immigration policies.
[8:43] You endorsed her primary campaign.
[8:45] Do you still back her run?
[8:46] And have you seen that video?
[8:48] Well, I do.
[8:49] And, uh, I have.
[8:50] I disagree with her.
[8:51] Look, I have a strong, uh, a very strong...
[8:54] It's a movement, my movement.
[8:56] It probably, at least partially, won the election.
[8:59] When I got elected at the beginning and, you know, previous to my coming in,
[9:04] we had the most unsafe border maybe anywhere in the world, maybe in history.
[9:08] 25 million people poured in from prisons, from mental institutions, drug dealers, murderers.
[9:15] 11,888 murderers came in, all documented.
[9:19] They allowed them into our country.
[9:21] I have a very strong...
[9:22] She obviously doesn't have a very strong feeling for the border, but I do.
[9:26] And, uh, I understand what she's saying, but I have a very strong, uh, I won because of my border.
[9:34] Now, nobody thinks about it anymore.
[9:36] Look, they just announced the numbers.
[9:38] Over the last 16 months, nobody.
[9:41] Zero.
[9:42] I even find that hard to believe.
[9:43] But it's, it's done by a group of people that seem to sort of lean Democrat.
[9:48] You know, they're not going to give me anything for nothing.
[9:51] And they say over the last 16 months, not one person came in through the southern border illegally,
[9:57] which is pretty hard to believe.
[9:58] But even if you said a few did, but 25 million came in through Biden.
[10:04] And a lot of them should never be here.
[10:06] No, I'm very strong on the borders.
[10:08] And she isn't.
[10:09] And she's a nice person.
[10:10] I got her elected without me.
[10:12] She wouldn't have gotten elected.
[10:13] She ran against a person a number of years ago who was not even thought possible to lose.
[10:22] And then when I endorsed Maria, she ended up winning.
[10:25] And the biggest surprise of, in all of Congress for that, for that session, for that term.
[10:30] And Maria won only because of me.
[10:34] So, she got a little bit soft on the border.
[10:39] I understand that.
[10:40] I understand that.
[10:41] But I just don't happen to be there.
[10:43] The Press enshrined the First Amendment.
[10:46] Thank you for telling me that.
[10:48] Are you trying to intimidate the press from doing its job?
[10:50] No, no, no, no.
[10:51] I dislike dishonest press, like you.
[10:55] I think you're terrible.
[10:56] But I dislike dishonest.
[10:57] I like to see honest press.
[10:59] Yeah, please.
[11:01] In the first administration, you tried a similar ban against CNN.
[11:05] And it didn't survive a court challenge.
[11:07] What makes you think that this move?
[11:09] Well, we'll see.
[11:10] I mean, it didn't.
[11:11] We didn't have to take it too far.
[11:12] Because the reporter that you're talking about discredited himself.
[11:16] He became a joke.
[11:17] So, he no longer was very effective.
[11:19] So, it didn't matter.
[11:21] No, but I think it's good.
[11:22] I think it's good to point it out whether it survives or doesn't.
[11:25] I mean, I don't think a court should allow, depends on the judge you get, to be honest with you.
[11:30] I don't think that a court should allow fake news to be written day after day after day.
[11:35] I think that somebody has a right to keep them away.
[11:40] Are they going to write false stories all the time?
[11:42] I don't think I've had.
[11:44] Look, I won the presidency.
[11:46] I won all seven swing states.
[11:48] I won the popular vote.
[11:50] I won 87 percent of the counties.
[11:52] That's why the maps are all red when you look, except for two little blue lines on each side, on each coast.
[11:58] I won a landslide.
[12:01] And I get no, I get, I don't get fair press.
[12:06] I get it from Breitbart.
[12:07] I get it from, a little bit from Fox.
[12:10] Fox is the worst.
[12:11] I think Fox has, frankly, the worst polls in the whole business.
[12:14] I think they should have gotten rid of their pollsters years ago.
[12:17] They've been calling me wrong for 10 years.
[12:19] But my polls have been very good.
[12:23] You know, I get good polls.
[12:24] I get good everything.
[12:25] But what I do ask is just a semblance of truth.
[12:30] CNN is fake news.
[12:32] MSNOW is fake news.
[12:34] They're fake news.
[12:35] They know it.
[12:36] They're put there for a reason.
[12:37] Politico was bailed out by our government from going out of business.
[12:44] I don't know if it was $8 million or something, but they were given this massive subsidy prior to my coming into office because they write only negative, you know, only negative.
[12:54] Now, we've done something that nobody's ever done politically.
[12:58] I've had a political career like nobody else in history.
[13:01] On occasion, it would be nice if we had some fair news.
[13:04] It's all fake news.
[13:05] Yeah, please.
[13:06] How is this action legal and constitutional considering the First Amendment?
[13:10] And Governor Sanders, you were White House press secretary.
[13:13] Do you agree with this plan to ban news outlets?
[13:15] Well, I'll just answer it again.
[13:17] I'll say it the same way.
[13:18] I don't think somebody should be allowed to come in and write fake stories.
[13:22] They're fake news.
[13:23] And that's why they have no credibility.
[13:25] That's why.
[13:26] So I had 96 percent negative coverage during the election and I won because they have no credibility.
[13:34] I got 96.
[13:35] I guess NBC was 93 percent negative.
[13:38] So 93.
[13:39] With all of the victories I've had, everything's been a victory.
[13:42] It's all been a victory.
[13:44] And I won the election like nobody's ever seen anything like it.
[13:49] I get no.
[13:50] They never write a good story.
[13:52] They won't write a story about.
[13:54] I just reduced drug prices by 40, 50, 60, 70, 80 percent.
[14:00] I will get a good story out of these people.
[14:03] From some of them I will.
[14:04] I'll get one from him.
[14:05] I'll get one from him.
[14:06] I'll get a few of them.
[14:08] But it's sick.
[14:11] I mean, there's something wrong with a country that can allow people to write purposely negative stories.
[14:20] Now, if they want to write them, that's fine.
[14:22] But I don't have to let them into my, into the people's house.
[14:26] Yeah, please.
[14:27] Governor Sanders, do you agree?
[14:28] Governor, go ahead.
[14:29] Sure.
[14:30] I think it's hard for you to argue against a free press when you're literally standing in the Oval Office asking questions of the President of the United States.
[14:37] He's been more accessible and easier to talk to than any president in history.
[14:43] Think about the previous administration where he could barely get through a press conference, and yet you have the opportunity to stand here in the Oval Office and ask questions to the leader of the free world.
[14:53] I mean, that's pretty free.
[14:54] Because of the First Amendment.
[14:55] And you're standing here asking those questions.
[14:58] I think the President is right to support the First Amendment, but he's also right to ask that you be honest and fair.
[15:06] That's not an unreasonable thing.
[15:08] Well, look at the way he treated Biden.
[15:10] He went a year and a half without having a press conference.
[15:13] A year and a half.
[15:15] And what was the question you asked him most?
[15:17] What is your favorite flavored ice cream?
[15:21] Okay?
[15:22] What?
[15:23] I think you asked him that question once.
[15:24] That is not true.
[15:25] What ice cream do you like the best?
[15:27] I mean, I heard that question so many times.
[15:30] And he'd always say vanilla.
[15:32] That's the good thing.
[15:33] It was very consistent.
[15:34] I'm surprised he got that right.
[15:36] But he'd always say vanilla.
[15:37] Yeah, please.
[15:39] He said that Senator John Boone isn't bringing the Ratepayer Protection Act to the floor.
[15:43] And you know what?
[15:44] He's not bringing the Ratepayer Protection Act that the House passed.
[15:47] He's not prioritizing that.
[15:48] Well, I'm talking to him about it.
[15:49] We'll see what happens.
[15:50] Mr. President.
[15:51] I thought President Xi coming here next week.
[15:54] I do.
[15:55] Great honor.
[15:56] China is one of the most repressive countries for journalists in the world.
[15:59] What signal does it send?
[16:00] Well, I don't know about that.
[16:01] I think we're repressive also.
[16:03] We get fake news.
[16:04] We don't repress, but they write fake news.
[16:07] No, I think he's going to come.
[16:09] We get along very well.
[16:10] It's nice that we get along very well.
[16:12] We've had a good relationship.
[16:13] He'll be here next week.
[16:14] I can tell you this.
[16:15] It's too bad we don't have the ballroom open.
[16:17] Because if we did, we could have thousands.
[16:22] We could have 2,000 people having dinner.
[16:24] They would love to.
[16:25] We have a very tiny little room that's going to be squeezed out at about 125 or so people.
[16:31] But I literally could tell you that thousands of people would love to be at that dinner.
[16:38] This is a very tough ticket for me.
[16:40] I've told a lot of very good friends of mine, you just can't come.
[16:43] You just can't come.
[16:44] We're going to have a very good meeting.
[16:48] We're going to have a meeting.
[16:49] We get along well.
[16:50] We're doing very well with China.
[16:52] I would say others maybe not so well, but we're doing very well with China.
[16:57] And President Xi and I have a good relationship.
[16:59] Do you expect an AI safety deal or any talks on that?
[17:02] I want to have a lot of different deals here.
[17:05] We intend we're not just doing it for our health.
[17:07] We're going to have some pretty important meetings.
[17:09] You know, China is paying us a lot of tariffs.
[17:12] And you remember I had it up to 145 percent at one point.
[17:16] But it was too much.
[17:17] It was really it was really hurting them badly.
[17:20] And I didn't want to do that.
[17:22] No, we get along very well.
[17:23] We have a good relationship.
[17:24] Now, you know, somebody said, oh, they spy on us.
[17:27] And I said, maybe they do.
[17:28] But we spy on them, too.
[17:29] We spy on them, too.
[17:30] You know, I don't want to give any any certified or classified information.
[17:35] But we spy on them, too.
[17:37] They said, they spy on you, sir.
[17:39] I said, we spy on them, too.
[17:40] Yeah.
[17:41] Please.
[17:42] Back, back, back.
[17:43] Go ahead.
[17:44] Your band.
[17:45] Not you.
[17:46] Charlotte Scott with Spectrum News.
[17:47] Pennsylvania has reported four measles related deaths.
[17:50] What's your message to other states who might worry about a spread or outbreak coming to
[17:54] America?
[17:55] I think we're going to be in good shape.
[17:57] We have nothing against vaccinations for measles.
[18:01] Do you want to discuss that for a second, either Bobby or us?
[18:05] We encourage people to vaccinate on all the CDC's websites.
[18:11] CDC has not yet received information about the measles death, the alleged measles death.
[18:20] We're waiting for that.
[18:21] And we will put it up on our website when we hear about it.
[18:25] We encourage people to vaccinate.
[18:29] One of the problems with Pennsylvania is that the governor has still very recently refused
[18:36] to cooperate with CDC.
[18:38] We were able to go in and end the outbreaks in all the other states, in South Dakota and
[18:44] Texas and all the other states.
[18:46] We sent our EPA team into those states.
[18:50] When I offered that to Governor Shapiro, he said, no, we don't need your help.
[18:53] They've got a bad governor in Pennsylvania.
[18:55] People just don't know it.
[18:56] He's very — he's close to incompetent.
[18:59] Daniel?
[19:00] Mr. President.
[19:01] Daniel?
[19:02] Mr. President.
[19:03] Mr. President.
[19:04] Mr. President.
[19:05] You announced last week that you'd be delivering $500 through paychecks to nearly
[19:08] a million Americans who were overcharged via Obamacare.
[19:11] Can you talk about what this would look like?
[19:13] How do you —
[19:14] Yeah, we saved hundreds of millions of dollars for the overcharging that the Democrats did
[19:20] for Obamacare and other things.
[19:23] And we found it.
[19:24] We gave it back to the people.
[19:25] We handed them back a lot of money.
[19:27] And thank you for bringing that up.
[19:29] The other thing is, as you know, because we're doing so well, taking in so much money
[19:34] on tariffs and other things, because we have more factories being built than at any time
[19:38] in the history of our country, including car plants and every other kind of plant, including
[19:43] AI, but including everything.
[19:46] We are giving Republicans or — and when I say Republicans, because I think everybody's going
[19:53] to be Republican, actually.
[19:54] But we're giving the people of our country who are adults $5,000 if the Republicans win.
[20:01] Because if the Republicans win, we're going to have a lot of money.
[20:04] If the Democrats win, we're going to go into a depression.
[20:07] And all these tax cuts and all the things that have made this economy so strong, and we're
[20:14] the hottest nation in the world.
[20:16] All of the things that we got will be taken away by the Democrats.
[20:20] Every one of them is going to be taken away.
[20:22] The tax cuts, no tax on tips, no tax on Social Security for our seniors, no tax on overtime.
[20:28] All of that is going to be taken away.
[20:31] They all voted against it.
[20:32] They voted in favor of men playing in women's sports.
[20:35] They voted in favor of the transgender mutilization of your children.
[20:40] You're going to be back to that stuff.
[20:42] Right now, it doesn't exist.
[20:43] But you're going to be back to it.
[20:45] So if we win, because we have so much, because we are taking in so much money, we're going
[20:51] to give all people — not just Republicans — everybody that's an adult $5,000.
[20:56] The only proviso is that they have to spend it in this country.
[21:00] And when they spend it in the country, it's very inexpensive.
[21:03] Mr. President, what do you mean by others to come?
[21:07] And how is this ban going to work?
[21:08] Others to come in terms of fake news?
[21:11] Yes.
[21:12] The New York Times is fake news.
[21:14] Washington Post is fake news.
[21:16] They're crummy papers.
[21:17] Both doing very poorly, by the way.
[21:19] But we'll see.
[21:21] We're probably not going to display the paper anymore in the White House, those papers.
[21:26] But we haven't taken the step of throwing them out.
[21:29] But they're fake news, totally.
[21:30] New York Times is so fake.
[21:32] Washington Post is disgusting.
[21:34] I mean, they're disgusting.
[21:36] I don't get it.
[21:37] Why would they be?
[21:38] We're doing so well.
[21:39] And they'll take the most positive story and make it as negative as possible.
[21:43] Go ahead, please.
[21:44] Can you join me free with this?
[21:45] No, no.
[21:47] Please.
[21:49] Speaking to UNGA next week, what is your message?
[21:50] Because last year you sort of said that they — the United Nations are helping end wars, but —
[21:55] Well, last year they wouldn't let my person in the teleprompter room.
[21:58] Remember that?
[21:59] My teleprompter operator was banned from the room.
[22:02] He went out, came back, and they wouldn't let him in.
[22:05] So we're standing there without a teleprompter.
[22:07] Isn't it nice to have a president — and actually they said it was one of my best speeches.
[22:11] I don't know.
[22:12] I don't know how that happened.
[22:13] But I'm — they're introducing, ladies and gentlemen.
[22:16] On behalf of the United States — and I'm looking at the teleprompter screen.
[22:21] It was totally blank, and it was for more than half the speech.
[22:26] Somehow they let him in in about half the speech.
[22:28] Probably they did that on purpose, but — and he shouldn't have been leaving the room for a minute.
[22:32] He had to leave the room, come back.
[22:34] But —
[22:35] What was your message?
[22:36] You remember that?
[22:37] They turned off the escalator.
[22:39] Fortunately, my first lady was very strong, and I was able to grab her back or another part of her body.
[22:45] It was actually a little bit lower than the back, and it kept me standing tall.
[22:50] I was standing very tall.
[22:52] But you remember, I was going up in the — and it came to a dead stop.
[22:55] And this was — I built a lot of escalators.
[22:58] I put in a lot of escalators.
[22:59] You can have some beauties right over here.
[23:01] But they don't do that unless somebody wants — and then I got up to make my speech, and I said,
[23:09] I don't have a teleprompter.
[23:10] Can you imagine?
[23:11] And I think I spoke very well.
[23:14] It's nice to have a president that doesn't need a teleprompter.
[23:18] Sir, have you looked at any plans to demolish the Kennedy Center?
[23:25] There was an image of you from Air Force One —
[23:28] Well, it's — look, here's the problem with the Kennedy Center.
[23:30] I should be very careful, because Bobby's standing right behind me.
[23:33] And — and I cherish that, too.
[23:35] I actually like the name of Kennedy and Trump, Trump and Kennedy, because it showed bipartisanship.
[23:40] It showed a Republican Party and a Democrat Party working together.
[23:44] The problem with the Kennedy Center — it loses — for years, it's lost between $60 and $100 million a year.
[23:51] It loses that every year.
[23:53] It's not an economically sound thing.
[23:55] Now, with all of that, Carnegie Hall loses money.
[23:58] All of those places lose money.
[24:00] They need massive subsidy in order to sustain.
[24:04] They get very little from Congress.
[24:06] I'm ready to fix it, make it good.
[24:08] We have a hostile judge.
[24:09] We have a conflicted judge.
[24:11] His wife represents, I think, Barack Hussein Obama, but Biden represents Kamala, represents Democrats.
[24:19] She has a different name, so most people don't know that, but we were able to figure it out.
[24:23] But we have a very hostile judge.
[24:25] As I understand it, he gave us the right to go and do the job, finally, after a week.
[24:31] I could have started this job seven months ago.
[24:34] As you noticed, a big portion of ceiling fell down two days ago, almost killed a security guard.
[24:41] Missed him.
[24:42] The place is a dump.
[24:44] It's been a dump for years.
[24:46] It's lost money for years.
[24:48] I can turn it around, fix it.
[24:50] But the question is, somebody's going to have to subsidize that for years to come.
[24:55] Because palaces of the arts lose tremendous amounts of money.
[25:00] The Kennedy Center for 25 years has lost a tremendous amount of money.
[25:06] And all I'm saying, I don't mind doing the job, but if I do the job, I think the Trump administration, including Bobby, but the Trump administration should be recognized.
[25:17] Why should I raise and put up and do all of this work, not only building it, which I'll do a better job building it than anybody else, anybody in America.
[25:27] But why should I do everything and then for the rest of my life have to go out and raise money because by nature, by the nature of that type of an operation, you lose anywhere from 50 to 100, maybe even $150 million a year.
[25:43] I think if I do that, excuse me, I think if I do that, because we should be recognized with the Trump administration.
[25:53] If I'm willing and the administration is willing, we have a lot of people working very hard on it to save it.
[26:00] I can save it easily.
[26:01] But why should we be doing that and then raise money for the rest of our lives to keep it afloat?
[26:07] Because that's what you have to do if we get no recognition.
[26:10] I think the Trump administration should be recognized as having saved the Kennedy Center because nobody else can do it.
[26:19] Wait a minute. I already raised $258 million from Congress and they gave it to me because it's me in order to rebuild it and fix it.
[26:28] The problem is once it's built, it's going to lose $100 million a year.
[26:32] And it was losing a lot of money. Before I got there, you know, people said, oh, Trump got there.
[26:36] No, no, I came there to save it. The problem is we had a very hostile judge.
[26:40] We have a very outstanding board. The board is among the most successful people in the country.
[26:45] And they vote. We have a Congresswoman who's, you know, a person that never did a thing in her life, frankly, never did anything constructive.
[26:53] All she does is complain. But saving the Kennedy Center is very, very tough.
[26:59] A tremendous amount of effort is going to once it's built and I'll build it great. Get it done on time like that building on time under budget.
[27:07] It's going to be great. Like your heliport outside. It's already it's two months ahead of schedule. It's going to open.
[27:13] They're going to have an official opening on the 21st with the first helicopter landing, etc.
[27:18] And it's beautiful. Everybody. In fact, they were going to sue me on the heliport.
[27:22] And then they saw how beautiful it was. And they decided not to sue the same group that goes around suing everybody to stop progress.
[27:29] But if we're going to save the Kennedy Center, I think the Trump administration should be given recognition for doing so.
[27:40] Mr. President, was it appropriate for your son to accept the gift, the payment of some of his wedding festivities?
[27:47] Well, it's totally it's totally allowed. And a lot of people have parties and all.
[27:51] But it's totally allowed. But as I understand it, he paid him back. He didn't want to have that.
[27:56] So I hear he paid him back. A person that he knows pretty, I guess, a friend of his.
[28:02] I gave him a wedding party. That's very common. I've heard of many people given wedding parties.
[28:07] I've given. Wait a minute. I've given. Well, I don't know. Maybe you didn't do a background check.
[28:11] But I've given I've given wedding parties to numerous people. They get married. I give them a party.
[28:17] I give them parties at beautiful places like Mar-a-Lago and others. But I've given many.
[28:23] With all of that being said, I understand that Don's paid him back.
[28:26] That's the first time you've heard that. So, Mr. President.
[28:28] No, I heard. I heard about that. I actually heard that when I heard the story.
[28:33] I asked about it. He said, no, I'm paying him back then. So and that was a while ago.
[28:37] So I heard he's paying. I have to say, though, you know, giving a wedding party is pretty common. Yeah.
[28:45] Mr. President, Mr. President, on the ban, what does that mean in practice? Are you taking away their badges? Are you banning them from the pool? What does this actually mean?
[28:53] When you say the ban, which, you know, you don't have any bands I'm involved in. I got more bands going. I've got more bands going.
[29:00] What does that mean in practice? Are you taking away their badges? Are you banning them from the pool? Are you banning them from the Oval Office? What does that mean?
[29:08] Well, I still don't know what. What do you envision the bands of Clark's political media outlets?
[29:13] Oh, the ban on the free press, right? A very simple ban. I don't want them in my office. I don't want them here. I would say the ban would go as far as you can. And if they could straighten themselves out, you know, if they could straighten themselves out, I'd love it. Look, I
[29:30] look, they're very dishonest people. They write in a very dishonest way. ABC Fake News gave me $16 million that was agreed to. $16 million that I won from ABC News because George Slopadopoulos wrote incorrect stuff.
[29:48] CBS gave me $38 million because they broadcast Kamala Harris on 60 Minutes. And the question borrowed no relationship to what she said. You saw that. I'm right now suing BBC because they have the granddaddy of them all.
[30:05] They have where I said walk freely and patriotically having to do with January 6th. And they put horrible fighting words into my mouth with my with me actually saying it. I said, I never said that.
[30:20] And when we checked, it was BBC actually changed my language and they put words in my mouth. That's the furthest I've seen. So that we have numerous lawsuits. We'll be showing these people to. But the ban is because they are fake news. They cannot write the truth. And Politico is very bad.
[30:40] And Politico, frankly, I think what they did was illegal. They accepted a the world's largest subscription. They got $8 million or something like that for a subscription to their stupid, you know, lightweight paper. But I will say Politico and MS now, which nobody ever heard of and CNN, which is doing very poorly.
[31:04] The reason they do so poorly is because they have no credibility. And if they had credibility, I wouldn't be sitting here right now. So we are banning them. Yes, we are. And there may be others to follow. Thank you very much, everybody. Thank you so much. Thank you.
