[0:00] yesterday donald met with nato secretary general mark ruta in the oval office ahead of next month's [0:06] nato summit the meeting focused on the alliance's future defense spending the word iran and growing [0:16] tensions between the united states and its european allies tensions created out of whole cloth [0:24] of course by donald after the two men took questions from reporters and as you might expect [0:31] donald used the opportunity to ramble about a number of familiar and inaccurate talking points [0:41] as well as his usual list of grievances let's take a look but i was disappointed i was disappointed [0:48] with italy i was disappointed with the uk he's now gone and you know he had a lot of problems but we [0:54] were disappointed with the uk we're disappointed with germany and france we're disappointed with [1:00] most of spain is a horror show spain is terrible even from your standpoint i mean they don't want [1:05] to pay anything they think they're in for a free ride spain is not a not a good group not a good [1:11] group at all i love that in for a free ride since the guy who's living rent-free in housing we pay for [1:19] while grifting billions of dollars off of the american taxpayer uh the reason donald doesn't like [1:28] all of those countries is because their leaders have at one time or another refused to agree with him [1:34] 100 of the time and in some cases have refused to capitulate to his stupidity and his horrible ideas [1:45] about how nato should function but according to donald trump he cannot fail he can only be failed [1:57] donald was asked just what he expects from our allies i think i know but here's his response [2:04] what do you want the allies to do more than what they are doing right now do you have a mask i just want [2:10] their loyalty we don't need their money we don't need anything we have the most powerful military in the [2:15] world by far but i just want loyalty you know we're so loyal to them we're always fighting for [2:21] them we have thousands of troops all over europe in germany we have 50 000 troops and then you want a [2:28] little give us a little nudge give us a little kiss we don't want much first of all mark rutter go away [2:35] please uh secondly the united states of america is the only country that has evoked article 5 of the [2:45] nato treaty which is to say we're the only country that other countries came to defend when we entered [2:56] into war against afghanistan and then iran in the wake of september 11th donald says there that he [3:05] doesn't want money he just wants loyalty first of all all he does is talk about money vis-a-vis our nato [3:12] partners that they're never giving enough ever and as for the strategic deployment of american troops [3:20] across nato countries that's for our defense as much as it is as it is for theirs he just wants [3:27] loyalty well what that means is he wants nato countries to be a hundred percent loyal to the [3:33] united states of america which is to say him while he does not ever have to return that favor these are [3:42] the statements made by a man who understands nothing about alliances who understands nothing [3:47] about the uh western liberal democratic alliance put in place after world war ii and in fact seems [3:55] hell-bent on dismantling it because again he knows nothing yesterday during a press conference on a [4:03] bipartisan housing bill donald took to his failing social media site to announce that he would refuse to [4:09] sign the legislation which would be extremely beneficial to americans who are struggling right [4:19] now unless congress first passes the voter suppression bill called the saved act something [4:26] that the republicans have not been able to do this refusal caught lawmakers of both parties off guard [4:34] and the previously scheduled signings ceremony was cancelled donald was asked why he was holding the [4:42] housing bill hostage demonstrating that he doesn't understand what it's actually about bill that you [4:49] didn't sign today no i said i'm not signing the housing bill i want to see what happens we said [4:53] look the housing bill is housing i made billions of dollars with housing i know housing better than [5:00] anybody maybe anywhere it's all about the interest rate lower the interest rates you can have all the [5:07] housing you want but you have to understand i don't want to have i don't want to hurt people that own [5:11] houses too these people for the first time in their lives they have valuable houses they become rich [5:18] i don't want to hurt them either what you want to do is what good for everyone get the interest rates [5:23] down we have this numbskull that was the head of the fed before and he's a stupid person and we call [5:31] him too late because he was too late with the interest rates all the time uh we need low interest rates [5:38] low interest rates will solve everything we'll solve that now despite that we're doing well with housing [5:45] we're doing so well with housing uh that congress had to forge a bipartisan bill to help people in the [5:55] context of housing once again demonstrating he doesn't know anything and he just lies and blusters uh [6:03] uh lower interest rates won't solve anything first of all that dig that stupid person dig was against [6:09] joe powell who was the fed chair who couldn't lower interest rates because donald's tariffs were tanking [6:20] the economy uh making it impossible for pell to do what donald wanted him to do because lower interest [6:30] rates would have raised inflation etc donald understands not that lower interest rates will [6:37] not solve all of our housing problems and donald doesn't know that because by the way he was never [6:45] a good businessman he was never good at real estate that would have been my grandfather who did make [6:51] hundreds of millions of dollars in housing a business that donald uh benefited from enormously and then [7:00] sold off because he is incapable of building let alone running a business so what's in this landmark [7:10] housing bill well it's aimed to increase housing supply thereby reducing costs it also limits certain [7:19] large investors from buying up single family homes and it cleared both chambers of congress overwhelmingly [7:27] which is one of the rare moments of bipartisanship now why did it because it is a win for everybody it [7:36] makes everybody look good except of course donald because he's not signing now it's very possible that [7:44] he's more concerned about protecting rich investors who have been snapping up housing uh which has been [7:50] part of the problem vis-a-vis higher housing prices more likely though he thinks that he can use his [7:58] refusal to sign as a way to pressure republicans to force through the save act even though of course [8:03] that has nothing to do with housing uh the save act is purely a voter suppression bill and the fact [8:11] that he's he's trying this tactic is a sign that he knows that without cheating his party will absolutely [8:18] be routed in the upcoming midterms he needs that save act here's the thing though it doesn't matter [8:26] if donald signs the housing bill or not unless he vetoes it it will automatically become law in 10 [8:33] days if he does veto it there are plenty of votes to overcome the veto he does not have a veto proof [8:40] majority uh in congress so donald pro tip would you please watch some schoolhouse rock a quick note the watching donald has said [9:03] one of his biggest accomplishments has been taking on what he calls the affordability problem which is [9:11] also something he has claimed repeatedly is a hoax that doesn't exist take a look but what we're really [9:18] doing well as oil is plummeting and costs are coming down uh affordability we're doing great the [9:26] democrats gave us a tremendous affordability problem and we're reducing prices a lot but again [9:33] he has said more times than i can count that affordability is a hoax why does he say that [9:40] because prices are actually going up um in large part because of donald's tariffs but of course [9:48] most recently because of donald's illegal unconstitutional war of choice against iran [9:53] and rising gas prices increase the price of pretty much everything else um and of course fertilizer is [10:01] becoming almost unaffordable for american farmers which will increase food costs etc and inflation [10:10] continues to rise apace but we shouldn't worry because donald says he has a plan to bring prices back [10:20] down even though he just said that there everything's great and the economy's never been better earlier [10:27] today you instructed your department of justice to do an investigation for oil companies that you said [10:34] gas prices were not coming down quick now that's right you are concerned that there is price gouging [10:41] are not taking advantage of the crisis sir can you elaborate on that so it's exxon mobil it's chevron [10:49] it's uh shell it's uh bp it's a lot of them uh the gasoline or the oil prices have come down so much and [11:01] we are not seeing anything at the pump by comparison to what it should be we should be in my opinion at [11:08] two dollars and 25 cents right now at the pump and we're higher than that and we are doing a big [11:16] investigation on it yeah oh breaking news oil ceos are also responsible for the algae blooms in the [11:22] reflecting pool you would think that donald would not be going after oil companies they're his allies [11:29] after all and he's bent over backwards by doing things like canceling green energy initiatives and [11:34] opening up protective lands to more drilling all to benefit them but of course donald is incapable of [11:41] ever admitting he's wrong and if he thinks gas should be 225 a gallon well then it should be [11:47] the price of gas should not be impacted by his grievously stupid war of choice and once the price [11:55] of a barrel of oil dropped gas prices should have dropped accordingly right yeah but that's not how it [12:03] works in the real world first of all a barrel of bread or crude oil while down from its high of over [12:09] 115 is still 10 a barrel more than it was before the war secondly i don't think we can count on uh [12:19] oil continuing to go down because i'm not entirely sure this peace deal is going to stay in place for [12:26] very long third and experts have been warning about this since the very beginning it could take months if [12:34] not longer for a gallon of gas in america to go back to pre-war levels even though a barrel the price of [12:45] a barrel of gas is continuing to go down now why is that well because of things like supply chain lags [12:53] which are going to continue because of damage to infrastructure caused by the war and the need to clear [13:00] mines in the strait of hormuz and then of course added shipping costs because of higher insurance [13:06] underwriting costs and the new fees that tankers have to pay in order to get through this rate as [13:14] well as other factors these are all things that anybody but donald would know and in fact did know [13:22] before he got us into this this is just another way for donald to demonstrate that he can never be [13:28] wrong about anything just as he continues to blame hordes of thugs for the debacle he's caused at the [13:36] reflecting pool now he's pointing fingers at uh oil company ceos for high gas prices which are the direct [13:45] result of his own idiocy speaking of the reflecting pool debacle uh donald was asked if the renovations [13:55] which i don't know if we can say renovations donald was asked if the renovations the repairs [14:02] that are needed because of the renovations it's a thing will be done by july 4th his response yes [14:11] those aforementioned thugs take a look reflecting pool will be down by july 4th or is that going to be [14:17] the pool yes it's in great shape no ready thugs i they just told me a little while ago six have been [14:26] arrested and like six or seven are under invested pictures of everything else they went to the bottom [14:33] and it's not a paint job it's very expensive it's not rubber but it's like rubber and they went down [14:39] with probably a box cutter or a very sharp racer of some kind or a knife and they cut and then they [14:46] started ripping it up you know why because they're sick people and then the side of the pool right at [14:53] water level they took razors and they started cutting this you know very expensive stuff it's [14:59] incredible stuff it's beautiful and it was so and it's still beautiful but we have one area where [15:07] they cut it still holding it's not leaking but they heard it so in about probably maybe after july 4th or [15:17] maybe before i don't know we'll we'll let a little water out because it's at the edge they'll cut it [15:23] they'll replace it and it'll be as good as new i'm not sure i can adequately describe the [15:29] level of delusion one would have to be under in order to convince oneself that thugs armed with box [15:38] cutters have been cutting 350 foot long gashes into the sealant at the bottom of the reflecting pool [15:48] uh so just so donald can convince people that none of this is his fault even though all of it is his [15:56] fault yes indeed the sealant is coming up off of the bottom the algae blooms have taken over there [16:05] every single remedy they have tried has made this situation worse they're now killing ducks for god's [16:12] sakes and you know we can joke that this is the perfect metaphor for the trump regime and donald's [16:19] incompetence uh because you know it doesn't um it doesn't risk the lives of hundreds and or [16:27] thousands of people or millions but again wildlife is dying and actual human beings are being arrested [16:40] for nothing all to protect donald's little broken ego that that is not um that is not something [16:54] that we can shrug off so this problem is only going to continue to get worse and he's made it clear that [17:03] he is not going to uh give us any proof of the accusations he's made why well because there isn't [17:11] any from what i understand there are cameras on the reflecting pool 24 hours a day although we won't be [17:17] able to see it anymore because the parks department was ordered to put up fencing and tarps and uh lookout [17:26] towers because apparently donald has been watching too much after once again donald is telling us not [17:34] to believe our own lying eyes and there's something he really really wants us to know watch but the [17:40] reflecting pool is great and it's going to look beautiful it's so sad to see what they did and [17:46] then the fake news tries to say oh well it didn't work of course it worked everything that does work [17:51] what i do works what i do best is build and we fixed i think it's 52 all over the city they're talking about [18:00] it everything he does works everything he do work i don't know grammar but here's the thing donald has [18:12] never built anything in his life and the evidence that practically nothing he does works is so abundant [18:24] i don't have the requisite 49 hours it would take for me to go through that list donald is in fact the [18:34] embodiment of the idea that it is so much easier to destroy things than it is to create them and he's
