[00:00:00] Speaker 1: welcome back to robot reviews i'm your host robot and i'm here with trevor who is the brand manager from mecca and we're gonna look at some turtles some muppets and some ducktails let's check them out right yeah so first off dude these fortnite figures i knew these were gonna happen i just didn't know you guys were gonna do them and you did such a good job oh thank you such a good job
[00:00:20] Speaker 2: yeah these are uh the paint masters um everything's at the factory right now uh getting tooled up so these should be out uh you know later in the summer um but yeah they turned out awesome they're painted by mike puzo uh he did an awesome job on these things now i'm i'm not too familiar with i don't
[00:00:39] Speaker 1: play fortnite like that at all to be honest with you but i knew about the turtles and i told my friends i was like these are going to come out as figures eventually yeah but i always wondered did they do anything else besides the turtles and shredder did they do bebop and rocksteady yeah they
[00:00:51] Speaker 2: have uh there's a few other characters bebop rocksteady april uh android krang um casey jones like all the core characters are i think they're all in uh fortnite okay in the game yeah so uh are
[00:01:05] Speaker 1: any plans are you guys just seeing how these work that yeah we'll see how these go and um the reception's
[00:01:10] Speaker 2: been really good it would be awesome to do some other characters but right now it's it's just these five
[00:01:15] Speaker 1: and you know honestly i would i wouldn't mind if it just were these five because they look great you got the core here i would say the only thing we need is a splinter we need a splinter oh they have splinter too he's in the game too man it's coming all right and now i love that you guys took us back to our favorite line that you guys do the tune teenage mutant ninja turtles yeah this is the classic so how did you come up with the idea to do one of each um it's easier this way they all wear these
[00:01:44] Speaker 2: costumes in different episodes but like it just doesn't make sense to do a four pack of like all construction workers or all you know the uh tuxedo or whatever so it was like let's just break them up and do if people wanted to buy multiples they could you know and swap out the heads but um yeah it makes more sense to just get more variety uh you know just mix it up with with the four different costumes do you have a favorite out of these four uh i have always liked the the uh the construction uh suit because that that uh octopus inc episode business suit casey yup um it's so crazy the sailor
[00:02:20] Speaker 1: one's hilarious what are the chances of us getting the the the belly dancing april o'neil and irma oh yeah oh yeah from uh what was the episode they did that oh we're shredder uh they show the young shredder
[00:02:36] Speaker 2: they show like oh there's a baby shredder that might be uh channel nine or like plan nine yeah
[00:02:43] Speaker 1: dude that would be so great if you guys did that i know it's a long shot and then i love the leather right here mad hatter is gonna go nuts when he sees this oh yeah he's a big leatherhead fan that's so cool and then you got the wow the 2012 line bro i mean like what else is there to say besides incredible oh yeah um do you have anything else in the works so you can't say yet uh there's definitely
[00:03:08] Speaker 2: more in the works uh but this is the next wave that we're showing um you know there's always there's always more stuff that we're working on behind the scenes but uh we're we're pretty proud of these ones and want to show these guys off right now i mean it's a little later in the year yeah man i love the
[00:03:24] Speaker 1: detail the attention the detail it really is what matters here and then this metalhead bro i'm bugging out i love
[00:03:30] Speaker 2: metalhead he's great yeah he's gonna be loaded with accessories and blast effects and uh all kinds of cool stuff to sort of make up for uh uh trying to see if i can show you guys hold on wait one second
[00:03:42] Speaker 1: you're gonna see the other side yeah he's got a lot of cool detail in the show you did the nyc logo yes dude it's on i have to admit i have yes thank you that's a good idea so um this is literally like near exact the same scale of the playmates toys i have it and i've been you might be right dude it's it's near exact almost maybe exact and then the the only thing i see is differences it's way more articulated way more paint apps way more detail in general i'm just like flabbergasted and how well i wish i could just take the playmates toy one and put it here because like they're exactly the same dude i remember i was doing a review for the the turtles and i said this matches really well with them but they could do the playmates toys and i mean they could do their own metal head and it would come out the same scale
[00:04:32] Speaker 2: so cool man okay now who's in there who's in the dumpster yeah there's a you know maybe there's a
[00:04:38] Speaker 1: utrom robot back there oh yeah always try to do something sneaky in your displays man i swear dude i'm still waiting on that last rohan a ronin rohan last ronin version of uh
[00:04:51] Speaker 2: of the tunes oh yeah he was hiding in there yeah we showed that years ago that's right i remember
[00:04:56] Speaker 1: that and then any word on the giant krang yet or still tbd that's still tbd uh it's an expensive
[00:05:04] Speaker 2: piece uh yeah hoping we can get it out this year maybe if it were to come out what would be your
[00:05:11] Speaker 1: guess on like a rough estimate of how much it would go for it's i mean just this isn't anything official
[00:05:17] Speaker 2: but it's you know it's probably it could be you know 250 to 300. that's what i thought like a ballpark guess yeah um i think any any more than that it's it might be a little too uh expensive for
[00:05:29] Speaker 1: people well i think that's fair just because there's a lot of people now getting into mondo and mondo's doing one six scale and theirs are like 250 sure anywhere between 250 and 300 and that's a lot smaller than one six scale there's no that that crank is way bigger than one six scale
[00:05:47] Speaker 2: he's up like 18 20 inches tall that's pretty impressive man that's the target price that we're that we're shooting for but it's trying to get all that stuff to align with costs at the factory and
[00:05:57] Speaker 1: everything that's that's the challenge and what was what was he like so who said let's do slash we can worry about toka later but let's do let's do slash right now who i probably me i probably was
[00:06:10] Speaker 2: like we should do a slash because this slash is really cool that's awesome thank you for doing that because we love slash he's great we really do he's awesome on the show too it's such a great version
[00:06:19] Speaker 1: yeah for real like the the shell dude the shell is are you able to turn him around or he's i'm
[00:06:24] Speaker 2: afraid of turning this one don't do it break yeah they have the stands yeah i see that if you have
[00:06:29] Speaker 1: a stand and you can can we turn around casey jones sure no i'm not a fan of this casey jones at all but i am a fan of detail oh and dude he's definitely got some details this is the most detailed casey
[00:06:40] Speaker 2: jones i've ever seen in my life the little paint cans look at that look at that i love casey jones it's
[00:06:45] Speaker 1: just this one was like i don't know he's too skinny for me i was never into it i loved all the other characters from it okay but like i can't help but look at him dude like look at the east man on the hockey park on the hockey stick yeah i'm losing my shit right now just this is so great this is so great dude you guys did so good um thank you what else did i have to ask about that do you know when these are coming out i've been waiting for these yeah they're gonna be out in the next few
[00:07:09] Speaker 2: weeks these are going to uh hall-a-thon at target yes so um so that starts like in march i think sweet
[00:07:16] Speaker 1: so it's right around the corner are there any differences between the foot bots yeah and this foot soldier yeah
[00:07:23] Speaker 2: yeah um everything that you get with the foot soldier is included with the foot bot okay foot bot has the extra uh spider arms on the back so he's got a different torso because he's got the extra arms that's cool it's like it's the weapon attachments the extra arms those are the uh those are the differences and these are the actual figures right yeah this isn't this isn't no protos here these are the real deal no no so yeah oh you got them in the box oh yeah that's that's what it looks like there's probably a lot of glare but you can see cool yeah no i got it yeah that looks good all right what's
[00:08:04] Speaker 1: what's that say then oh that's robo toka oh where did you see that i've seen robo toka on raza i just
[00:08:10] Speaker 2: haven't seen them here yet you guys you guys gonna show those yet uh they're they're on the other side i can take you over there oh yes i want to see those final packaging yeah oh i gotta check that out all
[00:08:20] Speaker 1: right um so now let's talk about uh let's just go straight to muppets right here okay dude what was it like to like make these and like get the license and all that it was very exciting just plain and
[00:08:36] Speaker 2: simple uh i was like can we do the muppets and they were like sure i was like can we like all muppets like muppet show what's is there anything off the table and uh and so we we just we're gonna dive right into like yeah classic 70s muppet show so is this the first wave that i'm looking at right now uh basically yeah yeah this is the first wave uh one or two things might change but this is pretty
[00:09:03] Speaker 1: much it you really know how to reel us in you really do because you gave us two out of three here right now we're all waiting for kermit sure and uh fonzie fozzy uh fonzie the funds yeah but like dude and then you did the talking fruit and vegetables man i love them so now i have to ask you know i'm never happy i have to have more you just showed these and i'm already like more more more yeah what's the muppet
[00:09:29] Speaker 2: christmas carol oh and please please do michael kane i don't know he's included you know that might be
[00:09:37] Speaker 1: separate likeness rights we can try i don't know we gotta have michael kane if you do the muppet christmas show we gotta have scrooge that would be a great uh scrooge figure and i could see him wearing the top
[00:09:48] Speaker 2: pad already with rizzo uh it's it could happen there may or may not be a wreath or something back
[00:09:55] Speaker 1: there oh man and then this is just to show off the uh this is just because i always wanted to build the stage so i finally did i got news for you you did a great job thanks you did an amazing job this is the touch right here i love the touch you did with the curtains yeah i couldn't figure out it was really
[00:10:14] Speaker 2: challenging to do it with the actual curtains yeah and i was like i'm just gonna have one of our guys like 3d printed because i needed to just get it done those are 3d print oh now i can tell so yeah dude from here you don't see any shine they look real yeah it just so that was the quickest way to get it done so well i had a couple of our guys help us with you know doing the artwork sculpting
[00:10:33] Speaker 1: that and i kind of put it all together i mean honestly i mean think about it we would definitely i know there's a lot of us going i want this i want the show i want the whole setup how much it would be how realistic it is i don't know but i would buy this that's good to know you know what i'm saying and i know you know who definitely bought this mad hatter yeah he would buy this in the second in a freaking heartbeat and like give it to me now all right now i've saved for me the best for last year of your announcements or reveals dude you blew me away with this all of you blew me away with this i did not see this coming oh wow and if i would see it coming i wouldn't have said ducktails i would have said chip and dale or you know another disney afternoon but you did ducktales man yeah um
[00:11:20] Speaker 2: it's it's good feedback uh i was hoping that that would be people's reaction you know just like i didn't expect this i didn't see this coming um this is some of the most fun i've had working on a project in a long time yeah just watching ducktales every day and having uh fred and tom and everyone sculpt these things uh it's it's been great this is probably my most favorite as much as i love the muppets and the muppet show uh getting these ducktail figures is something i've wanted to do for years uh gizmo duck i've always wanted a gizmo dude for real articulated yeah now i have to ask
[00:11:55] Speaker 1: though what's the deal with the wheel is it going to be a stand is it going to move or is it going to be
[00:11:58] Speaker 2: word we're debugging that at the factory now okay so we did roadkill rodney it was a little robot for the cartoon yeah yeah yeah and he had a little dust cloud that the wheel would plug into okay so we're using that as a starting point but he's obviously a lot bigger heavier um he might come with a flight stand uh the wheel is going to be ratcheted the the legs have have a few joints in the hips and the knees so we're trying to figure out how to make them balanced i would say with a stand honestly because
[00:12:28] Speaker 1: then if you get the stand right you can put the articulated wheel if you want just so you can like roll it and say it rolls sure do a little like bit there but then you also have the realistic version of
[00:12:38] Speaker 2: him just standing there yeah you don't always want them with the dust cloud like no exactly that part is removable oh that's so awesome but yeah i think the i think the thing that makes the most sense the simplest solution is like yeah give them a flight stand that you can just like you know kind of pinch
[00:12:53] Speaker 1: at the waist and absolutely gears opening door closing doors buttons i know you know i gotta come on
[00:13:01] Speaker 2: that's a good question you're you know you're a fan i love the show bro so i will tell you it was all sculpted to be removable um it's too expensive to include all the stuff yeah uh with this figure um but if they don't glue it all shut just for production costs hopefully the plan is to make an accessory set or a second version and you'll be able to plug in all that stuff like a like a like a
[00:13:27] Speaker 1: limited edition or something like that that we can like we could do another one and we'll put that in
[00:13:32] Speaker 2: there ahead looking into the future that the the the idea is to to make all that removable and have plug-in pieces and who's responsible for the sculpts uh so there's two guys that did the sculpts uh and both of them have difficult last names to pronounce oh man i'm sorry yeah no it's uh uh they're gonna get mad at me too because i butcher their names there's tom uh tom rosejowski so that's probably not it but um he's zelu uh on on instagram okay he does like so much of our uh our 87 cartoon line okay uh he did the nephews and he did scrooge and then fred uh uh ace on he did launch pad and uh gizmo duck and fred too fred we i use fred for for just about everything because he's he's a really talented sculptor and is a huge fan of this stuff when i told him we were doing ducktales he freaked out and he's like yes he goes oh my god wow dude because the show is just the beginning and you have to do the movie too the lost lost uh the last lamp yeah we've got a few lamp accessories um all the figures they come with more than what you see here yeah there's a lot of treasure and extra heads extra hands and everything would you be able to do a 360 on the stand uh yeah these guys he's very okay i want he's a little precarious okay okay i mean you know wow um the final production there should be some writing in the book we did artwork for the inside of the junior woodchuck guidebook this is so freaking that's removable that one's glued down but the hats are removed oh yes launch pad
[00:15:18] Speaker 1: now we're talking launch pad here yeah you should know where i'm going with this if we have a launch pad i know we're gonna need a chopper we're gonna need a chopper or that plane he flies in the movie either one chopper's probably more realistic because he has his own private chopper that would be cool to
[00:15:33] Speaker 2: do some vehicles that's actually not where i thought we got to have scrooge's yeah his rolls royce or whatever that is yeah that big limo with ducksworth oh my god we need ducksworth i think ducksworth he's a great character if we had to pack a figurine with the vehicle it would yeah it would
[00:15:49] Speaker 1: be like scrooge's limo with ducks dude at this point now give me everything give me a play set of the of the bank the money where we can put him on top and have him just jump into the oh my god yeah sorry for the shaking guys i'm doing two hands and one hand here this is amazing i want to just thank you so much for this switch hands here for taking your time to talk to me and everything this guy is awesome check him out if you if you're coming to toy fair come check him out take up too much of his time all right he's a busy guy um but yeah thank you so much again yeah no problem take care all right bye guys
