'The Five': Mamdani explores whether NYC has legal authority to arrest Netanyahu

[0:04] Mayor Mondani says he's exploring whether New York City has legal authority [0:07] to arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if he intends the UN General Assembly this [0:12] September, calling him a war criminal who belongs in the Hague. Roll it, Seymour. [0:20] He's the architect of the genocide against Palestinians in Gaza as Israel's Prime Minister. [0:25] These are not facts of my personal assessment. They are facts of public record. [0:29] And I believe that when someone is charged with an international criminal court warrant, [0:36] it's something that should be taken seriously, whether it's Benjamin Netanyahu or it's Vladimir [0:39] Putin or whomever else. What I've also made clear is that my administration will follow [0:44] all applicable local laws. So this is something, Dana, that I don't think the Democrats do enough [0:52] of, which is repudiating this myth about genocide, which has been repeated over and over and over [0:59] again. He's not allowed to arrest Bibi Netanyahu. And then what he'll do, instead of saying [1:31] he was wrong about that, he'll blame the courts. And then in the next press conference, he'll decry [1:37] the loss of trust in our institutions. It's like a pattern. And then they do it over and over again. [1:43] It happens on the right as well. The other thing is that one of his staffers just tried to reach [1:49] out to the Iranians to have a meeting. Huge red flag. Not allowed. You cannot do that. But he also said when it comes to arresting BB or exploring all these avenues that he will [3:27] be respectful as well of the UN. And the UN has made their policy clear, which is whoever we invite to [3:32] come here, it's like they have a golden halo around them for the time that they are visiting for UNGA. [3:38] So nothing's going to happen. Yeah. You know, and again, this is, we've been talking about this, [3:42] Emily. You focus on the person, Netanyahu, and you don't get questioned about the data that you're [3:47] offering. They're not, you don't have to engage in the conflict in the Middle East if you deem the [3:53] person you're engaging with a war criminal. Of course. That's also why it's okay to attack [3:58] ICE buildings and law enforcement, all the things. Guys, we live here. So let's talk about what the [4:04] mayor and what this policy is doing. And let's point out and really bring to light his rampant [4:10] hypocrisy that puts at risk all of us. So his quote about the International Criminal Court warrant [4:16] is that when someone is charged with an ICC warrant, it's something that should be taken seriously. [4:24] But yet he doesn't take seriously all of the warrants out for the illegal immigrants that are here [4:29] on this, in this town, walking the streets. So there have been many and not enough time in the [4:35] show for me to list specifics, murders, rapes, et cetera, of people with warrants out that this [4:40] city didn't honor because of his directive. So just one, for example, after an illegal immigrant [4:45] raped a woman in Queens at a La Quinta, then he was let out, he was arrested. There was an ICE warrant [4:51] because of Mom Donnie, because of his executive orders, where he laughingly, by the way, says that [4:57] a non-local law enforcement, like he basically is saying that the non-local law enforcement of ICE [5:03] should be given no credo, but somehow ICC should. That guy was let out. And what did he do? Rape at [5:09] night point another woman in Coney Island. And then his accomplice beat with a lead pipe her boyfriend [5:17] who tried to intervene. Or what about the 20-year-old that there was a warrant out for his [5:21] arrest and he murdered a 28-year-old here? Like how many people have to die under this guy's watch [5:26] that he ignores those warrants and somehow this fictitious ICC warrant, which is something we are [5:32] not a party to for a fictitious genocide, somehow all of a sudden matters to him. This mayor is a joke, [5:38] a fraud, and an anti-Semite. Yeah, Jesse, it feels like his core constituents are campus lifers and [5:44] they're not. It's true. Columbia loves it, right? Yeah, yeah. So are the guys at Rikers. I'd like to see [5:52] him try just to watch. Same here. Just to see the NYPD square off against the Israelis. I mean, [5:59] that would be bad. I don't know.
