[0:00] THANK YOU FOR JOINING US. [0:01] THANK YOU. [0:02] HI, ARRIE. [0:03] HI, NICOLE. [0:04] THANK YOU SO MUCH. [0:05] WELCOME TO THE BEAT, EVERYONE. [0:06] I'M ARRIE MELBURGH. [0:07] GREAT TO BE WITH YOU TONIGHT. [0:09] WE ARE TRACKING A LOT OF [0:10] DEVELOPMENTS. [0:11] PRESIDENT TRUMP AND THE [0:12] ASSORTED MEMBERS OF HIS [0:13] REPUBLICAN PARTY WHO WISHED [0:14] SOMEONE ELSE WAS PRESIDENT [0:16] GOING INTO THESE MIDTERMS ARE [0:17] PANICKED. [0:18] IF YOU'RE COUNTING, IT'S SUMMER. [0:19] PEOPLE ARE BUSY LIVING LIVES. [0:21] WE ARE NOW 85 DAYS OUT FROM THE [0:23] MIDTERMS. [0:24] THE OLD SAYING GOES CAMPAIGNS [0:27] FOR THESE REPUBLICANS. [0:29] TRUMP IS NOW EYING A CONCESSION [0:31] IN A WAR THAT HE CAN'T CONTROL AT [0:33] HOME. [0:34] THE BREAKAWAY FIGURES FROM THE [0:36] EPSTEIN HISTORY ARE STILL [0:38] REVOLTING AGAINST THE TRUMP MAGA [0:39] MOVEMENT. [0:40] SO PEOPLE LIKE TUCKER CARLSON WHO [0:42] SAID EPSTEIN WAS UNACCEPTABLE, [0:43] THE WAR IS A PROBLEM, ARE NOW [0:45] KIND OF FULL-TIME AGITATORS [0:46] AGAINST TRUMP AND WHAT TUCKER [0:48] CALLS TRUMP'S CORRUPTION. [0:49] THAT IS A WEDGE THAT MATTERS [0:51] WHEN YOU LOOK AT THE ENTHUSIASM [0:53] GAP IN THESE MIDTERMS. [0:54] THE NEW POLLS REINFORCE WHY [0:57] THEY ARE PANICKED AND THEN YOU [0:59] HAVE THE BLINKING ECONOMIC [1:00] WARNING SIGNALS FOR REGULAR [1:01] PEOPLE. [1:02] I'M NOT TALKING ABOUT WALL [1:04] STREET STOCKS, ALTHOUGH YOU CAN [1:05] KEEP AN EYE ON THAT. [1:06] I'M TALKING ABOUT THE JOB [1:07] LOSSES IN THE TRUMP ECONOMY. [1:09] ON THAT IMPORTANT STORY WE [1:11] ACTUALLY HAVE DYLAN RATIGAN, A [1:13] VETERAN OF THIS NETWORK AS WELL [1:14] AS CNBC AND A PROMINENT WALL [1:15] STREET CRITIC THESE DAYS TO HELP [1:17] US UNDERSTAND HOW THIS MATTERS [1:18] FOR PEOPLE, NOT JUST PROFITS. [1:20] BUT THE BIG STORY IS IRAN. [1:22] TRUMP MIGHT JUST WANT TO [1:24] ABANDON THE WHOLE THING WITHOUT [1:27] GETTING ANY FURTHER CONCESSIONS. [1:28] WE'VE GONE FROM THE ART OF THE [1:30] DEAL TO THE ART OF THE SURRENDER. [1:31] THE JOURNAL REPORTING THAT [1:32] TRUMP FLOATS THE IDEA PRIVATELY [1:33] TO AIDES THAT HE'S WILLING TO [1:35] WALK AWAY WITHOUT ANY NUCLEAR [1:36] DEAL AT ALL ACCORDING TO U.S. [1:38] OFFICIALS. [1:39] I'M PARAPHRASING THAT NEW [1:40] JOURNAL REPORTING. [1:41] THAT WOULD BE MORE THAN [1:42] HUMILIATING. [1:43] IT WOULD REALLY UNDERCUT THE [1:45] ENTIRE SECOND TERM FOREIGN [1:47] POLICY CLAIMS THAT HE'S MADE. [1:48] TRUMP'S SUPPORT ARE PEOPLE WHO [1:50] SAY WELL, EVEN IF THEY CONCEED [1:52] IT'S GOING POORLY, YOU'VE GOT TO [1:55] STAND UP TO REGIMES LIKE IRAN. [1:57] WELL, THIS WOULD NOT BE [1:59] STANDING UP. [2:00] THIS WOULD BE CUTTING AND [2:02] RUNNING. [2:03] WE KNOW WHAT TRUMP HAS SAID. [2:06] TAKE A LOOK. [2:07] IRAN CANNOT HAVE A NUCLEAR [2:11] WEAPON. [2:12] WE'RE NOT GOING TO GIVE THEM A [2:14] NUCLEAR WEAPON. [2:15] THEY WILL NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR [2:17] WEAPON. [2:18] THAT'S WHAT WE HEARD TO WHAT [2:23] WE'RE NOW HEARING. [2:24] THEN YOU HAVE THE PRESSURE FROM [2:26] PEOPLE WHO SAID THEY SUPPORTED [2:27] ASPECTS OF TRUMP ISM. [2:29] SAID THEY LIKED THINGS THAT HE [2:30] WAS DOING. [2:31] AND THAT MAKES THEM VERY [2:33] CREDIBLE, AGAIN, AS I SAID, IN [2:34] A TIME WHERE SUMMER IS WHERE [2:36] PEOPLE OFTEN SEE THE BREAKING [2:37] IN CAMPAIGNS AND YOU HAVE PEOPLE [2:39] LIKE TUCKER CARLSON AND MTG. [2:41] THEY'VE ACTUALLY TALKED RECENTLY [2:43] TO EACH OTHER. [2:44] AND THEY ARE TRYING TO TAP NOT A [2:47] LIBERAL OR WOKE OR DEMOCRATIC [2:49] RESPONSE TO TRUMP. [2:51] THEY ARE JUST SAYING THERE NEEDS [2:54] TO BE CHANGE. [2:55] AND THERE ARE THOSE IN TRUMP'S [2:57] ORBIT WHO THEORIZE THAT THIS [2:59] EFFORT COULD ACTUALLY BECOME A [3:00] VEHICLE FOR ATTACKING THE [3:01] PRESIDENT TO DAMAGE REPUBLICANS [3:02] WRIT LARGE IN NOVEMBER. [3:03] REMEMBER, TRUMP HAS SOWED A LOT [3:05] OF CHAOS IN CIVIL WAR AMONG [3:06] REPUBLICANS BY ATTACKING SO MANY [3:08] OF THEM. [3:09] SO WHAT'S GOOD FOR THE GOOSE IS [3:10] GOOD FOR THE GANDER. [3:11] POLITICO REPORTING THAT ANOTHER [3:13] ALLY CLOSE TO TRUMP SAYS GET [3:14] JUST ENOUGH FOLKS TO STAY HOME [3:15] SO WE LOSE THE HOUSE AND THE [3:17] PRESIDENT GETS DESTROYED. [3:18] AND THEN I WANT TO SHOW YOU [3:20] SOMETHING ELSE THAT KIND OF IS [3:22] CROSS-CUTTING SEVERAL OF THESE [3:23] ISSUES THAT WE'VE BEEN [3:24] REPORTING ON. [3:25] I MENTIONED TUCKER, MTG. [3:27] WE'VE SEEN HOW THE REPUBLICAN [3:28] SENATORS WHO LOST PRIMARIES OVER [3:29] TRUMP HAVE MADE THE SECOND TERM [3:30] MORE DIFFICULT. [3:31] THAT'S BEFORE YOU GET TO THE [3:32] MIDTERMS. [3:33] AND THEN YOU THINK ABOUT THE WAY [3:34] THAT TRUMP'S KIND OF BACKUP [3:35] PLAN WHEN HE KNOWS HE'S [3:37] UNPOPULAR AND THINGS ARE GOING [3:38] TO SHOW YOU SOMETHING THAT'S [3:40] PRETTY INTERESTING BECAUSE THE [3:41] TRUMP THEORY IS TO TRY TO RIG [3:42] THE SYSTEM. [3:43] A WORD OF COURSE HE FAMOUSLY [3:44] USED. [3:45] BUT HE DOES IT WHEN HE TRIES TO [3:47] CHEAT OR OVERTHROW ELECTIONS. [3:48] HE DOES IT WHEN HE TRIES TO [3:50] SHAKE DOWN THE PRESS FROM [3:51] COMEDIANS TO THE NEWS INDUSTRY. [3:52] AND WE'VE ALL COVERED THAT A [3:53] LOT. [3:54] I WANT TO SHOW YOU SOMETHING [3:55] THAT'S PRETTY INTERESTING [3:56] BECAUSE THE TRUMP THEORY IS IF [3:57] YOU GET ENOUGH OF GOVERNMENT [3:58] POWER AND YOUR ALLIES TO [3:59] CONTROL THE MEDIA, MAYBE YOU [4:00] WANT TO SHOW YOU SOMETHING [4:01] THAT'S PRETTY INTERESTING. [4:02] THAT'S PRETTY INTERESTING. [4:03] THAT'S PRETTY INTERESTING. [4:05] THAT'S PRETTY INTERESTING. [4:06] THAT'S PRETTY INTERESTING. [4:07] THAT'S PRETTY INTERESTING. [4:08] THAT'S PRETTY INTERESTING. [4:09] WHAT HAPPENS IF EVEN YOUR MAGA [4:11] ALLIES CHANGE, SAY, LET'S PICK [4:13] AN EXAMPLE, 60 MINUTES AND [4:14] HIRE NEW PEOPLE AND THEN THE [4:16] PEOPLE YOU GET ARE ALSO [4:18] POINTING OUT REALITIES IN THE [4:20] REAL WORLD THAT ARE NEGATIVE [4:21] FOR TRUMP AND REPUBLICANS. [4:22] THAT'S MY INTRODUCTION TO THE [4:24] FAREWELL COLUMN FROM ROSS [4:26] DUTHAT AT THE NEW YORK [4:27] TIMES. [4:28] THAT'S WHAT HE SAID. [4:29] THAT'S WHAT HE SAID. [4:31] IN THE LAST COLUMN AT THE [4:33] TIMES WHICH HE KNEW WOULD BE [4:35] NOTICED, HE SAYS TRUMP ISM HAS [4:37] FLAILED AND FAILED. [4:38] THAT MEANS NOT JUST ONE POLICY [4:40] OR CRITICIZING ON EPSTEIN. [4:41] THAT IS TRUMP ISM HAS FAILED. [4:44] ITS LEADERSHIP, ITS ROLE FOR [4:46] AMERICA AND ON THE WORLD STAGE. [4:47] I MENTION THE WIDER CONTEXT [4:49] BECAUSE DUTHAT IS ONLY LEAVING [4:51] THAT PLUM PERCH OF BEING A [4:53] NEW YORK TIMES COLUMNIST TO [4:54] HEAD FOR WHAT HE VIEWS AS A [4:56] PROMOTION TO 60 MINUTES. [4:57] SHE HAS NOTHING A RECONIZABLE [5:00] TV FACE BUT THAT'S ROSS. [5:01] IN THE MIDDLE YOU HAVE BERRY [5:03] WEISS WHO IS THE MAGA ALLIED [5:07] LEADER OF THAT EFFORT TO CHANGE [5:09] CBS IN MAYBE 60 MINUTES. [5:10] SHE GOT RID OF SCOTT PELLY A [5:12] FACE YOU PROBABLY DO KNOW IF [5:14] YOU WATCH THE NEWS AND HAVING [5:16] OUSTED VETS LIKE PELLY AND [5:18] HAVING BEEN ACCUSED CREDIBLY BY [5:20] JOURNALISTS AND LONGTIME [5:21] INDEPENDENT, YOU KNOW, NONPARTISAN [5:22] JOURNALISTS THERE OF MEDDLING, [5:25] SHE'S HIRED SOMEONE LIKE ROSS. [5:27] IF THIS IS MORE ANTI-TRUMP OR [5:30] AT LEAST MORE CLEARLY QUOTING [5:32] REALITY TO SAY TRUMP IS FAILING [5:34] THAN PELLY, THEN WHAT EXACTLY IS [5:36] GOING ON OVER THERE? [5:37] AND ARE YOU GOING TO BE ABLE TO [5:39] PULL OFF THE POLITICAL MAKEOVER [5:40] THAT YOU CLAIM TO WANT? [5:42] AND WHEN I SAY PULL IT OFF I [5:43] DON'T MEAN FOR ACCURATE NEWS. [5:44] I MEAN FOR THE STATED [5:46] ALLEGATION BY MANY PEOPLE AT 60 [5:47] MINUTES THAT IT'S SUPPOSED TO [5:48] BECOME MORE TRUMP FRIENDLY. [5:49] AND THAT'S A MERGER WE'VE BEEN [5:51] COVERING THAT MAY OR MAY NOT [5:52] ULTIMATELY HAPPEN. [5:53] THE TRUMP FOLKS SAY THEY WANT [5:55] CERTAIN KIND OF COVERAGE TO [5:56] HELP GET THEM THE REST OF THAT [5:58] DEAL WHICH WOULD MEAN TAKING [5:59] ON CNN AS WELL. [6:00] SO THAT'S AN ASIDE AMID THESE [6:01] PROBLEMS THAT TRUMP IS FACING [6:02] BECAUSE IT REMINDS YOU THAT [6:03] TRYING TO CHANGE THE CHANNEL [6:04] ISN'T WORKING FOR THEM EITHER. [6:05] AND THE POLLING IS THE WIDER [6:07] CRASH. [6:08] PEW'S POLLING APPROVAL RATING OF [6:09] EVERY PRESIDENT IN THE SUMMER [6:10] GOING INTO THE KEY MIDTERMS. [6:11] ALL THE WAY BACK TO REAGAN, [6:12] TRUMP IS AT THE LOWEST. [6:13] REPUBLICANS FACE BROADER HEAD [6:14] WINDS FOR POLLS SHOW DEMOCRATS [6:16] AHEAD WHEN YOU LOOK AT THE [6:17] GENERIC BALLOT. [6:18] THAT DOESN'T TELL YOU EVERYTHING [6:19] BECAUSE THERE'S NO GENERIC [6:20] ELECTION BUT THESE ARE THE [6:21] HEAD WINDS. [6:22] AND THAT'S WHERE WE BEGIN WITH [6:24] JEAN ROBINSON, POLITICAL [6:25] PRIZE MEN AND MSNOW ANALYST. [6:27] AND MICHELLE GOLDBERG, COLONIST [6:29] WITH THE NEW YORK TIMES. [6:30] JEAN, YOUR VIEW ON WHAT LOOKS [6:33] LIKE A KIND OF A PERFECT STORM [6:35] AGAINST REPUBLICANS AND TRUMP [6:36] SAYING MAYBE THEY DON'T NEED TO [6:38] WIN ANYTHING IN IRAN. [6:39] RIGHT. [6:40] WELL, LOOK, DONALD TRUMP DOESN'T [6:43] REALLY CARE ABOUT THE REPUBLICAN [6:46] PARTY VERY MUCH. [6:47] I MEAN, LOYALTY FLOWS ONE WAY [6:49] AS FAR AS HE'S CONCERNED. [6:50] THAT'S ALWAYS BEEN THE CASE. [6:52] AND SO I DON'T THINK ANYONE [6:54] SHOULDN'T CARE ABOUT THE [6:55] REPUBLICAN PARTY VERY MUCH. [6:56] AND SO I DON'T THINK ANYONE SHOULD [6:58] BE SURPRISED THAT HE'S NOT [7:00] REALLY THINKING ABOUT THE [7:03] MIDTERM ELECTION POLITICALLY IN [7:06] A LOT OF THE THINGS THAT HE'S [7:08] DOING. [7:09] EVEN IF HE WERE TO THINK ABOUT [7:11] IT RIGHT NOW, IT'S UNCLEAR [7:13] EXACTLY WHAT HE WOULD DO. [7:15] HE HAS DONEβ€”HE HAS MADE NO [7:17] JESTURES TOWARD AFFORDABILITY, [7:19] WHICH IS PERHAPS THE BIGGEST [7:21] ISSUE. [7:22] THE WAR CONTINUES AFTER HE [7:24] PROMISED THAT WE WOULD HAVE [7:26] WE WOULD NOT HAVE THESE KINDS OF [7:28] WARS. [7:30] SO CLEARLY, IT IS A BAD [7:33] POLITICAL SITUATION FOR [7:34] REPUBLICANS TO BE GOING INTO [7:35] THESE ELECTIONS. [7:36] ON THE OTHER HAND, DEMOCRATS [7:38] WOULD OBVIOUSLY BE FOOLISH TO [7:40] START DOING VICTORY DANCES AT [7:41] THIS POINT. [7:42] THERE ARE 80-SOME DAYS LEFT. [7:45] SO I THINK THEY'D BETTER KEEP THE [7:49] PEDDLE TO THE METAL AS BEST THEY [7:51] CAN. [7:52] MICHELLE, YOUR VIEW ON ALL OF [7:56] THAT, AS WELL AS WHAT NORMALLY [7:58] WOULD BE A KIND OF INSIDER [7:59] STORY, I MENTIONED PEOPLE MIGHT [8:01] NOT KNOW WHAT ROSS LOOKS LIKE. [8:02] HE'S MORE OF A PRINT JOURNALIST. [8:04] HE'S MORE OF A PRINT JOURNALIST. [8:05] HE'S MORE OF A PRINT JOURNALIST. [8:06] HE'S MORE OF A PRINT JOURNALIST. [8:07] HE'S MORE OF A PRINT JOURNALIST. [8:08] AND YET, IF THIS IS THE NEW VOICE [8:11] THAT WAS PROMISED TO REPLACE [8:12] SCOTT PELLEY AT CBS, AND IT STILL [8:14] SAYS, HEY, LOOK, THE REALITY IS [8:16] A LOT OF WHAT TRUMP'S DOING IS [8:17] FAILING, I WONDER WHAT THAT [8:18] TELLS YOU ABOUT THE STATE OF [8:20] CONSERVATIVE COMMENTARY AS WELL. [8:23] WELL, LOOK, I'M NOT GOING [8:25] TO SPEAK ABOUT KIND OF INTERNAL [8:27] NEW YORK TIMES THINGS. [8:28] YOU KNOW, ROSS AND I CO-HOSTED A [8:30] PODCAST TOGETHER. [8:31] I THINK IT'S SOMEBODY WHO HAS A [8:33] LOT OF INTEGRITY AND HAS ALWAYS [8:35] BEEN QUITE CRITICAL OF TRUMP, [8:37] BUT MORE OPEN TO CONSERVATIVE [8:38] VIEWS. [8:39] AND SO I THINK, YOU KNOW, IT [8:40] SEEMS TO ME THAT WHAT BERRY [8:41] WEISS IS DOING IS IN SOME WAYS [8:43] MAKING 60 MINUTES MORE TRUMP [8:45] FRIENDLY, BUT ALSO IMBEDDING A [8:47] SET OF CONSERVATIVE ASSUMPTIONS [8:49] INTO KIND OF THE OPERATING [8:51] SYSTEM OF THE BROADCAST, INTO [8:53] THE KINDS OF QUESTIONS THAT THEY [8:54] ASK AND THE KIND OF STORIES [8:55] THAT THEY THINK IS WORTH [8:56] COVERING. [8:57] AND I THINK THAT WHAT WE'VE SEEN [9:00] WITH DAVID ELLISON, WHO IS, YOU [9:03] KNOW, WHO NOW RUNS CBS AND WHO [9:05] WANTS TO RUN CNN, IS THAT HE WAS [9:09] SORT OF PUSHING ON AN OPEN DOOR [9:11] GOING INTO THIS YEAR, BECAUSE [9:13] THERE WAS THIS SENSE THAT, LIKE, [9:15] THE VIBE HAD SHIFTED AND THE [9:17] OPPOSITION TO TRUMP AND HIS [9:19] KIND OF AUTHORITARIAN ATTEMPTS [9:21] AT CONSOLIDATING THE MEDIA [9:22] BEHIND HIS CRONIES WAS ALMOST [9:27] UNCHECKED. [9:28] YOU'RE STARTING TO SEE MORE AND [9:30] MORE OPPOSITION AS DONALD TRUMP [9:31] BECOMES MORE UNPOPULAR. [9:33] AND NOW HIS ATTEMPT TO TAKE OVER [9:35] CNN IS SOMEWHAT IN DOUBT. [9:37] BECAUSE, YOU KNOW, EVEN THOUGH [9:39] YOU CAN... THE PRESIDENT HAS [9:41] POWER TO RIG A LOT OF THINGS. [9:43] BUT SOME OF THAT POWER DEPENDS [9:46] ON POPULAR LEGITIMACY, OR AT [9:48] LEAST ON POPULAR [9:49] ACQUIESCENCE. [9:50] AND THAT IS WHAT DONALD TRUMP IS [9:51] LOSING DAY BY DAY. [9:53] YEAH, I THINK THAT'S REALLY [9:56] FAIRLY PUT. [9:57] AND IT'S A REMINDER OF HOW MUCH [9:59] THINGS CAN SHIFT. [10:00] HERE WE ARE ABOUT 10 MINUTES [10:01] INTO THE HOUR. [10:02] WE'VE LARGELY BEEN ON THE [10:03] REPUBLICAN SIDE OF THE LEDGER, [10:04] AND THEY DO CONTROL THE WHITE [10:05] HOUSE AND THE CONGRESS. [10:06] I DID WANT TO TURN WHILE WE'RE [10:08] IN THIS POLITICS DISCUSSION TO [10:09] AOC, A CONGRESSWOMAN WHO IS [10:10] VERY MUCH SEEN AS A POTENTIAL [10:11] FUTURE FACE OF THIS PARTY. [10:13] AND SHE HAS GONE PUBLIC VERY [10:15] DELIBERATELY AS A WORKING WOMAN [10:18] WITH THE FERTILITY JOURNEY THAT [10:20] SHE'S ON AND ALSO A RANGE OF [10:22] OTHER ISSUES. [10:23] SOME PEOPLE THINK SHE'S CONSIDERING [10:25] A BID FOR HIGHER OFFICE. [10:26] LET'S TAKE A LOOK. [10:27] THAT WASN'T SO BAD. [10:28] I HAVE DECIDED TO START THE [10:31] PROCESS OF FREEZING MY EGGS. [10:39] AND IN THIS POLITICAL [10:41] ENVIRONMENT WHERE THIS [10:42] ADMINISTRATION IS BEING [10:44] DENYING REPRODUCTIVE CARE TO [10:47] WOMEN ACROSS THE COUNTRY. [10:48] DID THE MOVEMENT GO TOO FAR [10:51] WITH SOME OF THOSE POSITIONS? [10:53] I MEAN, YOU BRIEFLY SUPPORTED [10:55] THE IDEA OF DEFUNDING THE [10:56] POLICE. [10:57] WELL, YOU KNOW, I THINK THAT [11:00] DURING THIS TIME AND DURING, [11:02] ESPECIALLY DURING COVID, THERE [11:04] WAS A HUGE OPENING OF THE [11:06] OVERTONE WINDOW. [11:07] WE WERE SHUT DOWN. [11:08] THERE WAS SOME OF THE HIGHEST [11:10] UNEMPLOYMENT RATES WE HAVE SEEN [11:11] BECAUSE OF THOSE SHUTDOWNS. [11:12] AND I THINK THAT THE DOORS [11:15] WERE REALLY OPEN IN TRYING TO [11:17] ENTERTAIN ANY AND EVERY POLICY [11:19] THAT WAS GOING TO GET US TO A [11:21] BETTER PLACE. [11:22] AND I ACTUALLY THINK THAT THE [11:24] DISCUSSIONS THAT WERE HAD IN [11:26] THAT TIME WERE QUITE FRUITFUL. [11:28] AND WHEN YOU'RE READY TO MAKE [11:30] THAT DECISION ABOUT 2028, [11:31] COME BACK AND TALK. [11:36] YOU KNOW, SHE'S IN A DIFFERENT, [11:38] VERY BOLD STYLE. [11:39] SHE'S A PROUD PROGRESSIVE. [11:41] AND THEN SHE'S ALSO SAYING, HEY, [11:43] NOT EVERYTHING EVER SAID IN THE [11:45] SERVICE OF WHAT YOU MIGHT CALL [11:47] THE PROGRESSIVE WING OR SOMETIMES [11:49] QUOTE WOKE POLITICS GOT IT RIGHT. [11:51] WHAT DO YOU SEE HAPPENING HERE? [11:54] WELL, I THINK THAT IT'S NOT JUST [11:56] AOC, RIGHT? [11:57] THERE'S A LOT OF PROGRESSIVE [11:58] CANDIDATES WHO ARE NOW BEING [11:59] HAUNTED BY THINGS THAT THEY SAID [12:01] IN 2020 OR 2021, INCLUDING [12:05] ABDULA EL-SAYED AND FRANCESCA [12:07] HONG, THE GUBERNATORIAL [12:08] CANDIDATE IN WISCONSIN. [12:10] AND, YOU KNOW, ON THE ONE HAND, [12:12] I THINK IT'S HEALTHY THAT [12:13] DEMOCRATS AND INCLUDING [12:14] PROGRESSIVE DEMOCRATS ARE SORT [12:16] OF DISAVOWING SOME OF THE MORE [12:18] OUTRAID AND UNPOPULAR POSITIONS [12:20] THAT THEY TOOK THEN. [12:21] I DO THINK THAT THERE HAS TO BE [12:23] MAYBE A LITTLE BIT MORE OF [12:24] AN EXPLANATION BY PEOPLE. [12:26] I MEAN, I THINK THAT THERE'S [12:27] GRACE FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE [12:28] CHANGED, BUT THERE HAS TO BE [12:29] SOME SORT OF EXPLANATION OF HOW [12:31] THAT CHANGE OCCURRED. [12:32] YOU KNOW, SOME SORT OF [12:33] STATEMENT THAT WE, YOU KNOW, [12:36] WE MADE A MISTAKE BY PUTTING [12:38] UP BY TAKING A LOT OF KIND OF [12:39] COMMON-SENSE POLICIES ABOUT [12:41] CRIMINAL JUSTICE REFORM AND, [12:43] YOU KNOW, TALKING ABOUT THEM IN [12:45] MAXIMALIST OR HYPERBOLIC TERMS [12:48] THAT DIDN'T DO US ANY FAVORS. [12:49] I THINK THAT YOU CAN, YOU KNOW, [12:51] THEY DON'T NEED TO DISAVOW THE [12:53] SORT OF UNDERLYING VALUES, BUT [12:55] THEY MAYBE DO NEED TO EXPLAIN [12:58] AWAY A LITTLE BIT SOME OF THAT [13:00] HYPERBOLIC LANGUAGE. [13:02] MM-HMM. [13:04] ALL MAKES SENSE. [13:05] MICHELLE GOLDBERG, THANK YOU. [13:06] I WANT TO THANK YOU, JEAN [13:08] ROBINSON WHO WAS WITH US AT THE [13:09] TOP OF THE SHOW AS WELL. [13:10] NEXT WE TURN TO THE NEW ATTORNEY [13:11] GENERAL. [13:12] TODD BLANCE SWORN IN TODAY AND I [13:14] HAVE A SPECIAL BREAKDOWN ON WHAT [13:15] REALLY MATTERS HERE, WHAT IT [13:17] REVEALS ABOUT TRUMP'S LAWLESSNESS [13:19] AND ANTI-POLICE AGENDA. [13:20] WE'RE BACK WITH THAT IN 90 [13:21] SECONDS. [13:22] PRESIDENT TRUMP'S FORMER [13:26] DEFENSE LAWYER, TODD BLANCH, [13:27] SWORN IN TODAY. [13:28] A NORMALLY CELEBRATORY STEP THAT [13:30] WAS ACTUALLY CLOSED TO THE [13:32] PRESS, WHICH IS ONE OF A FEW [13:33] SIGNS THAT THE DOJ CLASS HERE [13:34] DIDN'T GO WELL FOR BLANCH AND [13:35] TRUMP. [13:36] ANOTHER UNUSUAL ALBEIT MINOR CLUE [13:38] WAS THAT THERE'S REPORTING THE [13:40] DOJ TEAM ASKED PEOPLE TO CLAP [13:42] BLANCH IN WHEN HE ARRIVED THIS [13:43] MORNING. [13:44] YOU SEE HIM THERE. [13:45] MS NOW REPORTING. [13:46] WE DON'T KNOW WHY THAT SPECIAL [13:48] REQUEST WAS MADE. [13:49] BUT WE DO KNOW THAT THERE'S [13:51] MANY INDICATIONS THAT BLANCH'S [13:53] CREDIBILITY HAS BEEN LOW IN [13:54] THE DEPARTMENT EVEN IF THEY GOT [13:56] SOME PEOPLE TO COME OUT TO THE [13:58] HALLWAY FOR THIS SPECTACLE. [14:00] INDEED, UNLIKE MOST OF [14:02] TRUMP'S CABINET NOMINEES, [14:03] BLANCH'S CREDIBILITY HAS BEEN [14:04] CONFIRMED AT ALL. [14:08] HE STRUGGLED TO GET THAT [14:11] ORIGINAL NOMINATION OUT OF [14:12] COMMITTEE. [14:13] THAT FIRST VOTE CANCELED BECAUSE [14:15] HE WAS GOING TO LOSE IT HAD IT [14:17] BEEN HELD THEN. [14:18] HE ALSO ULTIMATELY LOST THE [14:20] VOTES OF SOME REPUBLICAN [14:21] SENATORS LEADING TO LAST WEEK'S [14:23] NAIL-BITER WHERE HE GOT THROUGH [14:25] BY A SINGLE VOTE BECAUSE HE [14:27] LOST SOME REPUBLICANS. [14:28] AND HE WOULDN'T EVEN HAVE [14:30] GOTTEN THROUGH BY THAT VOTE HAD [14:31] HE NOT HAD TO COMPROMISE UNDER [14:33] THE VOTE. [14:35] HE WOULDN'T HAVE GOTTEN THROUGH [14:37] SOME REPUBLICANS RULING OUT THAT [14:39] ALREADY FROZEN MAGA CRIME [14:40] FRONT. [14:41] THAT'S WHAT IT TOOK TO WIN BACK [14:42] TWO OF WHAT TURNED OUT TO BE [14:45] NEEDED REPUBLICAN VOTES. [14:46] SO THAT IS ACTUALLY I THINK THE [14:48] MOST IMPORTANT DEVELOPMENT [14:49] HERE LEGALLY. [14:51] AND IT UNDERSCORES TWO POINTS. [14:54] THE FIRST, PRESSURE WORKS. [14:56] DONALD TRUMP MADE A LOT OF [14:58] NOISE ABOUT A LOT OF THINGS THAT [15:00] HE COULD HAVE DONE. [15:02] IT WAS A BLUFF BECAUSE THE [15:06] REPUBLICAN SENATORS DID GET [15:09] BLANCHED TO FORMALLY END THAT [15:10] FUND AFTER TRUMP MADE ALL OF [15:12] THOSE BIG COCKY SOUNDING [15:14] THREATS. [15:15] THAT'S ONE. [15:16] PRESSURE WORKS. [15:17] TWO, DONALD TRUMP STILL WANTS [15:21] TO FUND AND REWARD MAGA [15:23] CONVICTS. [15:24] HE WANTED TO DO THAT UP TO THE [15:26] END. [15:27] HE STILL WANTS TO DO IT RIGHT [15:29] NOW EVEN IF HIS HANDS ARE MORE [15:31] TIED LEGALLY. [15:32] HE WANTS TO DO IT RIGHT NOW. [15:36] HE WANTS TO DO IT RIGHT NOW. [15:37] HE WAS INCLUDING ABOUT RISKING [15:39] THE WHOLE NOMINATION FOR THAT [15:40] GOAL. [15:41] HE WAS UNDERCUTTING BLANCH AND [15:42] THE OTHERS WHO HAD PUBLICLY [15:43] CLAIMED THE FUND WAS ALREADY [15:44] OVER BECAUSE IT WASN'T OVER [15:45] BECAUSE HE WANTS IT. [15:46] IT'S TRUMP'S PRIORITY EVEN [15:49] DEPENDING ON HOW YOU LOOK AT [15:50] IT, HIS POSSIBLE OBSESSION. [15:51] AS PRESIDENT, DONALD TRUMP [15:52] ALREADY INFAMOUSLY USED MORE OF [15:55] HIS AUTHORITY TO ACT AGAINST [15:56] POLICE. [15:57] AGAINST THEIR WELL-BEING, [15:58] AGAINST THEIR SAFETY, [16:05] HE WANTS TO DO A LOT OF [16:08] RETORICAL BACK FLIP, BUT HE [16:09] MIGHT LIKE YOU TO FORGET THAT. [16:10] HE HAS A LOT OF AIDES WHO DO A [16:12] LOT OF RETORICAL BACKFLIPS [16:13] TRYING TO DISAPPEAR THAT AND [16:15] THEN HE HAS A PROPAGANDA [16:16] MACHINE THAT LIES ABOUT THAT. [16:17] BUT ON THIS NETWORK AND ON THIS [16:19] PROGRAM WE WILL ALWAYS REMIND [16:20] YOU OF THAT VERY RECENT HISTORY [16:21] THAT THEY ARE TRYING TO [16:22] MEMORY HOLD BECAUSE WE DON'T [16:23] WANT TO RELIVE IT. [16:25] THIS NEW CLASH, OF COURSE, WAS [16:27] ABOUT SEIZING YOUR TAX DOLLARS [16:28] TO PAY MAGA CONVICTS, [16:30] INCLUDING POSSIBLY THOSE FROM [16:32] And that's where those key Republican senators drew their line, and when Blanche's confirmation looked doomed, he then relented and compromised and submitted this written and signed memo stating that that MAGA fund is dead, that those funds will not be used, I should say abused, if it was actually tried, to fund convicts and other violent people just because they're aligned with the president. [16:56] The fund, which I will not call by its propaganda name, although you can read it off the screen if you choose, the MAGA crime fund was rescinded, signed by Mr. Blanche. [17:07] The Times reports that there could be loopholes there, and that could be by design, because that's the whole reveal here. [17:16] Blanche may have been willing to write that up under the pressure, and others in the DOJ have tried to walk away from that because, by the way, it was already frozen in court, probably illegal, a lot of things. [17:26] But Donald Trump wants to take your money and use it that way. [17:33] reimbursement for the pain they suffer. [17:35] People like it. [17:37] If they don't approve that, I can put it back on the table. [17:41] A lot of people like it. [17:43] A lot of big supporters of Trump like it. [17:45] Kind of a nonsensical, corrupt statement there. [17:51] He wants to take your money without any act of Congress or under any legal authority and give it out to convicts. [17:59] And then when he tries to defend it, this is why a lot of people say Trump is not the communicator he might have once been, he says the convicts getting the money like it. [18:07] Yeah, most people like free money. [18:10] Convicts might like it extra in the case of these folks who in any other normal time would still be incarcerated, but that's hardly a defense. [18:18] Trump prioritized this on his first full day in office, pardoning, on his first day in office, pardoning over 1,000 of those convicts. [18:28] The Trump DOJ also abandoned the seditious conspiracy case against the very militias who were part of that effort to overthrow democracy. [18:36] Trump signaled it's okay to do this as long as it's on his behalf. [18:41] And so this is the whole story. [18:45] On the one hand, they were stopped and it took leverage and pressure. [18:48] That's why I told you step one, pressure works. [18:51] On the other hand, not only Donald Trump and Blanche and those enablers, but a heck of a lot of other people in our country who would rather just look the other way or not deal with this or try to give Trump the benefit of the doubt or just hope they don't have to deal with this the next time there's a coup attempt in our Capitol, [19:08] are looking away from the fact that Trump does want this kind of paid militia. [19:15] He has not changed. [19:17] He has actually only gotten more anti-police and more direct in this. [19:20] It's the warning we heard from Congressman Raskin. [19:22] It's all about weaponizing the tax dollars of the American people to support Donald Trump's private militia. [19:31] If these people had real viable causes of action against anybody, they would go to federal court. [19:37] And the ones who have gone to federal court have lost their cases overwhelmingly. [19:44] Fact check, true. [19:45] That was kind of going into the beginning of the summer. [19:47] Here we are in the heart of the summer, nearing the end, if you look at it that way in August. [19:51] And we've gone from that idea of floating to being blocked in court to being fought back in Congress to, with the leverage of this confirmation fight, perhaps the one thing about it that upholds the rule of law, [20:01] to the thing being signed and sealed as dead under the law of the new attorney general, under his hand. [20:08] Now, if Trump does still get Blanche to try to reverse that, you can try to rescind a memo, just as you rescinded the fund, right? [20:16] They will end up back in court. [20:19] And they will have a problem, which is everything I've just told you that's happened up to now. [20:23] This thing was already paused by a judge, but it's now rescinded, signed by Blanche, and so trying to revive that would be very hard. [20:33] And this isn't something that the president can just do alone. [20:36] That's why he's run into so much trouble when you actually need to move money out of the treasury and you need to make bank transfers and you need all these different government officials involved. [20:45] A judicial order blocking it blocks it. [20:49] Now, when you look at this and you say, okay, I guess it's kind of over, but we should be vigilant, what is the final takeaway? [20:56] I will tell you in plain English. [20:58] He wanted a coup. [21:00] He supported a violent sedition, as adjudicated in our courts of law. [21:04] He got back into power and he released every last one of those violent thugs. [21:09] And as if that weren't enough, he wanted to take your money to fund them. [21:12] Why? [21:14] Donald Trump doesn't pay back his own contractors and lawyers and other staff. [21:17] We've heard that for decades. [21:19] Why is he suddenly so interested in getting money to these people, even though now it's been stopped? [21:23] Apparently, he wants them on call and ready to act again in the next election or two. [21:30] And we take that seriously. [21:33] We're going to fit in a break. [21:34] That's my special report on what we learned from the Blanche issues. [21:37] But by the end of the hour, we will lighten up a little bit with Obama teaming up with Larry David for this big show that now is taking on RFK Jr. [21:48] If I was in charge, I... [21:49] Well, there's no one way to answer that question. [21:52] Most people think first about the inflation, the prices, the gas. [21:56] When you look at a slightly larger trend, the monthly jobs report, you have trouble. [22:02] Friday's weak jobs report is a problem for anyone living in the real economy. [22:08] Although the stock market actually took it as good news because of the way they think it will keep the money supply going and kind of affect the Fed. [22:17] This is the tale of two cities that Americans know so well, the inequality, the billionaire class and everybody else. [22:24] People with a lot of money sitting around are cashing in on this just as they see AI as a tech boom precisely because it could eliminate jobs. [22:32] Trump and his advisors also trying to minimize the actual turmoil. [22:36] I got sick of hearing about this K-shaped economy. [22:41] You can't save now. [22:42] Every dollar you have has to go to gas, groceries, bills, rent. [22:46] I can say here definitively the K-shaped economy is over. [22:51] You know, you can't do anything with gas prices and you just can't, you can't afford to breathe at this point. [23:02] And we're seeing more of a C economy where the lower end of wage earners are finally calling it back just like they did in President Trump's first term. [23:10] Low class, might as well, you know, crawl in a hole because they can't afford anything. [23:19] On the one side you have the uber rich in Donald Trump's deregulatory economic system using a lot of jargon when he says maybe this style of letter is ending. [23:31] He's saying the inequality problem is not as bad. [23:34] And then you have real people living through this where, A, you can't afford groceries, gas, basic needs, the affordability crisis. [23:44] And then, B, if it were the Great Depression and everyone was suffering, you might say, well, I guess we're all in this together. [23:50] But that struggle, that affordability struggle comes against the time of incredible self-enrichment, double-dealing, deregulation and outright corruption. [24:00] The jobs report, the economic conditions are bad news politically for Trump, of course, because all those people that you heard worrying about this are living through it when he promised lower prices. [24:10] Take The Wall Street Journal, which is not exactly an anti-Republican or anti-market outlet, saying Republicans have just lost their edge with voters on the economy. [24:18] The polling shows those Democrats beating Republicans, if you ask it generically, and voters know what they're living through. [24:26] They punished Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for high prices, and they may punish the Republicans for being the party in power with high prices as well, although Republican leaders now just want to run back the clock. [24:42] Inflation, 3.5%. [24:43] Why do Republicans deserve to keep power in Washington if that's part of the scorecard? [24:49] People have short memories, and they forget that Biden or Biden's economic disastrous reign, Biden's prices that we're still dealing with. [25:02] It's Biden's disastrous economic record. [25:05] Do you think that's a winning message to just say it's not our fault? [25:08] And 18 months in, is it not Trump's economy yet? [25:12] President Trump was certainly left with a mess to clean up. [25:15] This is what they can come up with over 550 days into the second term, and here's how Trump sounded in February. [25:27] You said you inherited a mess from President Biden when it comes to the economy, but at what point is it on you? [25:33] At what point are we in the Trump economy? [25:34] Oh, I'd say we're there now. [25:39] We're there now. We were there then. [25:42] Welcome to the Trump economy, the job losses, the deregulation. [25:45] A lot of problems if you're not in the top 1%. [25:49] But how does this really work? Why do the markets bounce off the poor jobs numbers? [25:55] And what do you need to know in your own life, as well as why Republicans are so nervous about this economy going into the midterms? [26:01] Well, Dylan Radigan is a Wall Street expert and often Wall Street critic, a veteran of this network. He joins me next. [26:07] I have one primary wish as president in terms of people. [26:17] I never want to be the late, great Herbert Hoover. [26:20] I don't want to be a president that oversees the great worldwide depression. [26:27] That was Herbert Hoover, and it was a terrible thing. [26:31] Rather than possibly going into a depression, rather than having your favorite president be Herbert Hoover, [26:39] I never want to be Herbert Hoover. [26:41] Hoover on the mind. We are joined by Dylan Radigan, a journalist and author. [26:47] He's anchored shows on this network and on CNBC, as I mentioned, a market expert, [26:52] but also often a Wall Street critic, CEO of Euphoria Sneakers, owner of Reservations.com, [26:57] and looking nifty in the summer. [27:01] I like Dylan the Great. [27:02] I also like Dylan the Great. I like that. [27:07] And I like Italian philosopher. [27:10] I think that we need to sort of update the lower third, sort of, the obvious thing. [27:15] We'll work on it. [27:16] I don't, Dylan, I don't know if living a lot of the year in Italy makes you an Italian philosopher. [27:21] It might make you a sometime Italian. [27:23] So that's, you know, that's a lot of work on the adverb. [27:26] Maybe a financial philosopher. [27:27] Let me turn you to the markets. [27:30] Talk to me like just a regular person who says job losses are bad. [27:35] Obviously parts of the economy are doing worse than Trump promised. [27:40] But the stock market liked that announcement Friday. [27:43] And do you see this as a rough economy going into the election? [27:48] The short answer, the obvious answer is yes. [27:50] The simple explanation is that the market benefits from a reduction in human beings. [28:02] And so every time you move towards less human beings as a cost, as an overhead, as a point of overhead, [28:07] it's market positive because what the market is pricing is productivity. [28:18] So the answer is yes. [28:19] And now brings up, I don't know, which then brings up the sort of hanging question, [28:24] which is, okay, why is capital so misaligned with humanity [28:29] that capital becomes asset owners benefit from things that are negative for everyone [28:37] and particularly negative for non-asset owners? [28:40] And why are we moving to a world that is based on asset owners [28:44] that's a tiny percentage of the world and then non-asset owners [28:47] and then people that collect dividends from robots to live a life as a non-asset owner [28:53] and then people that live on boats in Sardinia as asset owners? [28:57] And I think that that is a disturbing thing. [29:01] And I think actually this goes to the original moral injury of 2008, [29:07] which now Trump is the final exploiter of. [29:11] And so there was, there's an American and even a global dream [29:15] that a child, any child can change their circumstances [29:20] by creating extraordinary value for other people. [29:23] That's a foundational myth of America, of childhood, of capitalism. [29:28] And the more we move to a place where that is no longer true [29:33] and the belief in that myth is no longer true [29:35] because trust is in full collapse, [29:38] at the same time that the technology AI, [29:42] bigger than the horse and buggy, blah, blah. [29:44] So you're going to have the biggest technological transition ever [29:47] at the direct benefit of asset owners [29:49] and the direct detriment of non-asset owners [29:51] at a time when trust in institutions [29:53] to manage that is at an all-time low. [29:57] Yeah. [29:57] And so is Donald Trump guilty? [29:59] Sure, yes, he is. [30:00] Is it easy to walk around and to talk about the list of horrendous things [30:04] and corruption and the crypto and the absurdity, [30:07] the inventory is an abomination. [30:09] And is he alone in this? [30:11] Absolutely not. [30:12] He is the continuation of it, in my opinion. [30:14] And the validation of something that was unspoken [30:17] and more perhaps restrained going back to 2008 [30:23] in terms of asset transfer within the government and the banks. [30:28] Let me jump in. [30:29] And you're saying a lot. [30:30] And as you're wont to do, [30:32] you're getting us back to the core of it, [30:33] which is what you described as asset owners, [30:36] so the minority of super rich [30:37] who are living different than most people, [30:39] and then how that affects all of us [30:40] on this little marble that we live on and share. [30:44] Unless we destroy it. [30:45] It's a political crisis of this generation. [30:47] The humanity of Gen Z [30:49] and the creativity that is actually possible [30:52] in the positive expression of this technology [30:55] as something that works for you [30:57] as opposed to reworking for the technology. [30:59] So let me jump in to... [31:00] You mentioned the hangover from 08. [31:03] Well, the moral injury. [31:04] And one of the issues was whether... [31:05] Yeah. [31:06] And one of the issues is whether the rules [31:08] protected everybody enough or not. [31:11] And the deregulation, which as you said, [31:14] yes, it predates Trump. [31:15] And a lot of it was bipartisan. [31:16] It was a banker class in both parties pushing that. [31:20] 99, Larry Summers, Ruben, blah, blah, blah. [31:23] So now we have a very deregulated approach [31:26] to finance and banking in general under Trump [31:28] and specifically AI. [31:30] There was this really deeply reported [31:32] in New York Times piece that I want to quote from [31:34] looking at what might be a deregulated AI bubble. [31:38] Reading from this piece, [31:40] they talk about how we're trillions of dollars [31:43] in investments on the back of just tens of billion in revenue. [31:47] The AI bubble estimated to be 17 times as large [31:50] as the dot-com bubble and quadruple the 08 housing bubble, [31:54] which you just mentioned. [31:56] The piece goes on to note the housing crash is instructive. [31:58] It rippled across the entire economy like a contagion [32:01] because the market itself had drawn investments [32:04] from across the entire economy. [32:06] And they observe in this piece, [32:08] that's more true of the AI boom, [32:10] which has been driving America's growth across the spectrum. [32:13] Your view of that? [32:16] Obviously, that's a real risk. [32:17] We'll find out together what happens. [32:19] I think the most important thing is [32:21] to actually just look at what, [32:22] the most extreme case of what is there, [32:25] of what is being financed. [32:26] And I think I spoke with you about this [32:28] last time I was here with the SpaceX prospectus. [32:31] As a story, whether we believe it or not, [32:33] they wrote it down, Morgan, [32:34] they wrote a book and they said, [32:35] this is the future we believe, [32:37] and this is why you should give me your dollar [32:38] or whatever your money is. [32:40] And I think that that narrative, [32:42] which is then, again, 60% of the jobs, [32:44] 10,000% growth, asset owners, [32:46] non-asset owners, space data centers, [32:50] this whole sort of futuristic story [32:52] is one that implicitly ignores [32:55] and doesn't talk about the human consequences [32:59] of the economic benefits of what is being described. [33:03] And so for sure, [33:05] everybody wants to be an asset owner. [33:07] And so the richest among us, [33:09] if you're like, [33:10] it comes down to it after we're done philosophizing, [33:12] if the AI tsunami is coming, [33:15] you'd rather be an asset owner, [33:16] whether it's your personal brand, [33:18] your bank account, your house, [33:20] whatever it is, [33:20] some stock market thing, [33:21] a 401k down the line, [33:23] then somebody making $65,000 a year in Memphis [33:26] who's got to do Uber [33:27] to pay for a health insurance policy [33:30] that's no longer subsidized, [33:31] which represents 25% of the people in this country [33:33] who are not the homeless [33:34] and are not some whatever, [33:36] but just our people. [33:37] And I think at the end of the day, [33:39] every single thing that was set in motion, [33:41] whether it was distrust in 2008 [33:43] or actually financial policy [33:45] has been coming home to roost slowly [33:47] as manifest through inflation [33:49] and lack of trust in institutions [33:50] and then the open invitation [33:52] for effectively a corrupt cancer [33:54] to take it over [33:55] in the classic sort of family corruption sense of, [33:58] you know, Erbil, Iraq or something like this, [34:01] where it's just, listen, [34:02] I can make a lot of money doing this [34:04] and I will. [34:06] As an invitation that was opened, [34:09] in my opinion, in 2008 [34:10] when there was a moral decision, [34:13] a moral injury that refused to acknowledge [34:16] that the structure of the policy [34:19] making was uniquely to the benefit [34:21] of the class that controlled the government [34:23] at the expense of the taxpayer. [34:25] And it didn't matter even the dollars [34:26] or how it happened [34:27] or whether you believe me [34:28] or you or anybody else [34:30] or whatever movie person, [34:31] you knew on some level [34:32] that something unfair had happened [34:34] and that that now I think [34:36] has opened up both the cynicism [34:37] and the hopelessness [34:39] and the anger and the ambition [34:42] of this moment. [34:43] And I think Trump is really [34:44] just a reflection of it. [34:45] I think that it's not as much [34:47] about his presidency as it is [34:49] him and the as the culmination [34:51] of something that's a wave [34:52] that's coming up ashore [34:53] that came from an earthquake 15 years ago. [34:58] Yeah. [34:58] And that makes a lot of sense. [35:00] And what you're describing [35:02] is the warning system, right? [35:03] You could change the politician. [35:05] You could look at who are the different [35:06] tools of the deregulatory environment, [35:09] the risk factor we're all carrying. [35:11] But I love that you always [35:13] go broader like that. [35:14] So Dylan, thank you. [35:16] Keep on rocking in the free world. [35:18] I'll see you in a month or two. [35:20] Dylan the Great, I thought it was. [35:23] You could say it. [35:24] I just, I might not. [35:25] We love you. [35:26] But then what's the point? [35:28] Then what's the point? [35:29] Well, it's for you to decide. [35:31] Again, our thanks to Dylan. [35:32] Let me tell folks what's coming up [35:34] because RFK Jr. is under fire [35:35] talking about how he'll eat anything [35:37] and there's a fact check. [35:39] That's next.
