when [0:10] he was a presidential candidate i'm telling you was she really on the trail a lot in 16 mark [0:15] when you were covering some but not she didn't i shouldn't usually talk at the event she's a power [0:19] house i mean she's a powerhouse she's extraordinary the kids the kids came younger were there a lot [0:24] and so she came and basically stood off the side with the kids i spent a morning with them one [0:28] morning while they had a snowball fight uh for the circus that was quite entertaining all right [0:33] uh i want to show you the whole hour but apparently we can't so let's look at a little bit here's uh [0:37] secretary rubio talking about life after politics 112 please you've joked about your career after [0:45] politics what do you think it would be uh i don't know obviously i haven't even thought about that [0:50] yet but i love the sports stuff so i'd be i'd love to be involved in like the intersection of sports [0:54] and culture um but basically whatever pays the most anything to do with fox news [1:00] i'd like to do the commercials on fox and that's one of our inside jokes is i'm always i always look [1:05] at the commercials that are running on fox you know whatever they're advertising like rain gutter [1:08] or whatever and i'm like i think i could be the pitch if i could line two or three of those two or [1:12] three of those alone yeah i'm probably set for a while so i think i could be the pitch man like [1:17] whatever william devane is settling he said he said you know he's got his big uh thing going so [1:22] um you know i i got my eye on that we'll see all right here's jeannette rubio talking about being the wife of a [1:28] senator or a secretary of state not the wife of an astronaut like in annie hall uh 113 please [1:36] jeannette doesn't do many interviews so thank you for doing this [1:41] what did you think about his move from being a senator to secretary of state were you on board [1:46] the second he brought it up or did you take some convincing no i was on board i was because of [1:52] everything that's going on in our country and so i was totally on board when he told me that this is [1:57] something he was considering what's easier being a senate spouse or being the wife of the secretary [2:03] of state i think they're both different um i would say being a senate spouse is probably easier just [2:11] because um there were less events there were things that i didn't have to do um being in now in dc [2:19] um but they're both they were both they were both great all right here's secretary rubio talking [2:26] about the famous rubio memes 114. what's your favorite marco meme my gosh i've left to so many [2:34] of them i don't know um obviously the ones when he's sitting in the chair or the ones with the [2:42] president and the vice president those would make me laugh as well no but you mean of the ones of me [2:46] sitting in the chair you mean any of them there's so many there's so many of them there's so many yes [2:50] but which is your favorite of all the ones i don't keep track of them honestly i don't do a lot of social [2:54] media like myself at this point you know it's like i think they're running out of material but [2:59] the the the truth is that um there i don't remember there was like a favorite one but um [3:05] some are very creative you know it's impressive what they can do i know well it's not it's i don't [3:10] know about i'm proud because it's not you in the picture [3:16] all right again she does almost no interviews so some of you are hearing her speak for the first time [3:20] uh finally uh here's uh secretary rubio talking about uh the parts of maha he [3:25] doesn't like spoiler alert it's about pop tarts 115 please the vice president says you have a big [3:32] sweet tooth i assume you haven't adopted rfk's diet diet of red meat no this is a crazy diet [3:37] this is a this is a diet that consists of eating um sauerkraut and meat now you understand like this [3:45] is not a sustainable thing like you can't just walk into it well he sustains it because he doesn't imagine [3:50] he does he has to travel with coolers of sauerkraut i'm not going to travel the world with a cooler [3:55] full of sauerkraut it's ridiculous i can't do it it's not sustainable are you maha i'm in favor of [4:00] maha like i think people should be healthy not but i think ultimately he is completely not what to eat [4:06] pop tarts no i don't need pop tarts every day okay you eat sweets the pop tart is one of the great [4:12] american innovations in history of the world you think about it comes in this beautiful foil package all the [4:16] things you should not be eating every single thing that's good yeah um kevin there's so much [4:25] skepticism about jd vance and how he'd fare in a general election that guy that couple they they [4:33] they would be very hard for a democrat to beat wouldn't they yeah agreed uh and again as i've [4:38] always said that the second question in the in the presidential debate uh rubio versus aoc or josh [4:45] shapiro uh rubio would answer in beautiful spanish uh on immigration and then the election's over yeah [4:51] larry yeah what's your impression of the rubios i i they come across as comfortable in their own skin [4:59] comfortable with each other i did like the matching tie and dress combo uh it looks like they're a little [5:03] prom little prom action yeah um listen he's he's just displaying himself to be a man in full he can [5:09] talk about pop culture he can talk about he's incredibly relatable um and by the way he's in [5:15] command of the issues whenever challenged on sort of uh actual political and and policy issues uh he's [5:23] he's a formidable candidate whether he runs in 28 or whether he runs at another time and she comes [5:28] across very genuine you know she uh she's not polished she just seemed normal and real um very different [5:34] than say jennifer newsome who comes across like an actress gavin newsome's wife well she was [5:39] an actress let's be honest that's why she comes across like one uh it's it's they're they're they're [5:45] they're good i mean it's again i don't want to choose because i'm happy with both both of my candidate [5:49] choices right now i don't want to go yeah go ahead mark what has changed most in rubio from 2016 [5:56] covering him to that interview now that's a different rubio i'm writing a column about this now he's so much [6:02] more confident he understands the game more he's not he doesn't get unsettled by uh by the unexpected he [6:09] he's seen it all you know i tell people when i mean that debate where he repeated himself yeah [6:13] with christy i tell people when they get in the tv business or the media business you got to expect [6:18] anything can happen you got to expect you're going to hear your voice back in your ear you got to expect [6:22] the light next to you is going to fall on you you got to expect the anchor is going to call you by the [6:26] wrong name you got to be ready for anything and it's true in politics too you just you can't anticipate [6:31] everything that could go wrong but you have to anticipate something could and not let it faze you [6:36] and when he ran in 2016 when trump went after him he just it got in his head he's now he's he seems [6:41] unfazable and uh and totally comfortable and that thing he said uh at the top about just openly can [6:46] you imagine under if you weren't so confident say yeah when i when i leave politics he didn't say i [6:51] want to start a foundation or cure world poverty he said i want to be a pitch man on fox yeah everybody's [6:56] like make money and whatever whatever pays me the best yeah and also i i remember i i was in new [7:02] i went to rubio's rally the day after that disastrous debate in new hampshire and he was [7:07] just so handled and so uh he he was so eager to please and and and he you knew that in his head [7:15] he was trying to remember what his handlers and advisors had told him to do and now he's just like [7:20] listen this is who i am i am and and he's just that it's it's the confidence you see it in the senate uh [7:25] testimony in those hearings too with his old colleagues yeah uh he's he's much more free and you know what [7:31] and i think this has been the trump effect on him because back in 2016 he was terrified of people [7:36] not liking him and now i think this has been a really good effect that trump has had which is [7:40] like yeah people aren't going to like me i don't care i am who i am i'm going to say what i believe [7:44] if if he if vance decides not to run and rubio ends up being the chosen one and i believe the [7:50] entire white house including the president and vance would support him uh he's going to put together [7:55] a fundraising apparatus and a campaign apparatus that's going to be as good or better than anybody [8:00] else on either party is able to put together and and it'll be run by a guy who's run before which is [8:05] a massive advantage he understands the rhythms of all this and he studied uh trump now for a long
