Senate President Cayetano questions credibility of Senate threat intel from NBI — ANC

[0:28] In a statement, Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano questioned the credibility of the information coming from the NBI. [0:36] Cayetano insists the intel did not come from the Senate Sergeant-at-Arms, who was in charge of the security of the upper chamber. [0:47] Manila Representative, Bienvenido Abante Jr. is taking legal action against 18 former back men of ex-Congressman Zaldico. [0:53] Abante filed libel and cyber libel complaints against the 18 men, their lawyer, and a media entity over allegations linking him to cash payouts. [1:03] He denies the bribery claims, calling them false and defamatory. [1:07] He also questioned why the accusations were made in the media instead of in court. [1:11] Abante also suggests the timing may be politically motivated. [1:15] Moving on, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. leads the commissioning of the offshore patrol vessel BRP Raja Lacandula just in time for the 128th anniversary celebration of the Philippine Navy. [1:31] Marcos highlighted the need to strengthen the country's defense capabilities amid its ongoing maritime dispute with China in the West Philippine Sea. [2:28] Armed Forces Chief General Romy Bronner Jr. confirms a moving structure was discovered inside the lagoon of Baho de Masinlok in the West Philippine Sea. [2:36] According to Bronner, the structure measured six by six meters and had six individuals on board. [2:43] Based on recent Philippine Air Force imagery, the object features an antenna-like fixture and currently has people stationed on top of the structure. [2:52] The military has deployed aircraft to monitor the development and is actively executing response measures.
