Qatar says it is in contact with all parties before Islamabad talks

highness [0:40] discussed last forest day with his brother sultan haytham the sultan of oman the developments in the [0:48] region and the current development on friday he attended the inauguration of the antalya forum [0:55] as per the invitation of his brother tayyab erdogan president of turkey his highness received yesterday [1:05] his royal highness amir hussein ibn abdallah thani the heir apparent of the jordan and the his highness [1:15] expressed the appreciation of the state of qatar for the role being played by jordan and the importance of [1:20] ongoing coordination regarding the development in the region his highness received a phone call [1:28] from the u.s president they discussed during the phone call the tension in the region and the security [1:38] in the shipment maritime and the stability of the energy market qatar is a confident [1:47] partner in supporting the stability of the energy market and qatar's commitment to fulfill its [1:57] obligations regarding the partners his excellency the prime minister foreign minister he participated [2:07] on last saturday the meeting the material committee formed by the arab summit regarding gaza [2:18] within the antalya also fifth forum his excellency also met his excellency hakan fidan the turkish foreign [2:28] minister and abdelhamid mohammed led baby prime minister of the unity government in libya his excellency [2:37] received some phone calls on sunday and monday from better benhammed bin humud albu saidi umani foreign [2:48] minister and foreign minister of the state of kuwait tom pierre in disney foreign minister of holland [2:59] foreign minister in finland dr maria bint ali bin nasr al-misnan minister of state for international [3:15] cooperation over the cattle delegation in the meeting to allocate assistance for the palestinians [3:23] on monday in brussels her excellency expressed during the meeting her appreciation to the norway and [3:31] the european union for leading the support of the palestinian people and their efforts that are ongoing [3:38] for bringing peace and stability in the middle east she also expressed the appreciation of the state [3:44] of qatar for those who are trying the best to fulfill the assistance needed by the palestinian [3:52] people on saturday dr mohammed aziz bin salih al-khalifi minister of the state at the foreign ministry [4:05] in a high-level meeting uh under the title of emerging partners for the sake of the peace during the [4:15] meeting he said that qatar is not considering mediation as part of the media show but qatar [4:22] considers mediation as an effective role because the state of qatar is trying its best to find a role [4:31] if it will serve the parties to go further towards a political solution his excellency met some of the [4:40] officials where they discussed the cooperation between qatar and their countries that's all what [4:46] i have and if you have some questions it's right sober first thank you doctor very much at the beginning [5:00] i want to ask if qatar is receiving more contacts from watching regarding the negotiations and the [5:08] military movement in the region and has pakistan asked frankly from qatar to help in facilitating the [5:17] the current talks because qatar has experience in mediation and in case the negotiations are not a [5:25] success do you have another plan for mediation and finally i want to ask about the president of the [5:34] president of syria and what are the matters that will be discussed during the visit thank you [5:40] regarding briefing doha or something like that i want to assure that we have ongoing contacts with [5:48] different parties including the united states regarding what's going on within the current tension and [5:55] the current consequences in the region and the mediation ruler regarding pakistan the state of qatar [6:02] is supporting fully the efforts of our brothers in pakistan we appreciate these efforts that's why we [6:08] have ongoing contacts with the pakistani partner we also have seen the visit of the pakistani prime minister [6:17] to doha and the continuous contact and discussion regarding these matters i think this is something [6:23] clear we would like to say that we don't want to talk about the failure of the negotiations the entire [6:29] world is supporting these negotiations and they're supporting the brothers in pakistan to do their role [6:36] we are supporting this annual next question my question is within the same direction in case the [6:45] negotiations are not successful how can qatar deal with the scenarios on the future in such a case in [6:53] such a situation thank you as i said we will continue our support to our brothers in pakistan [7:01] in their mediation we are monitoring the development with all of you of the situation and the reactions [7:08] regarding the what's going on we wait for some replies from the concerned of the gulf countries in this truth between iran and america [7:41] or have these gulf countries been excluded the second question how can qatar achieve that balance and [7:48] also the gulf states between protection of the international trade particularly with china and the [7:55] requirements of such a protection with the situation in the state of hormuz thank you first of all [8:02] regarding what we call the gulf countries might be excluded i want to say that all the gulf countries [8:09] are on daily contacts with different parties because the crisis is ours the crisis is ours [8:17] and the crisis is the crisis of our region that's why we have contacts we have direct contacts we have [8:23] coordination with different parties in pakistan and other parties in the region regarding your question [8:31] i'd like to confirm here that the closure of the strait of homus in such a way will transfer and we will take [8:41] this crisis to the international world and the energy markets and exporting and re-exporting are quite [8:48] connecting with connected with different aspects now the impact of this closure is being felt even at houses [8:57] even electricity at houses even heating systems at houses so with this is quite clear and it's not the [9:06] responsibility of one country it's a general responsibility for the entire world we need all to work to put an [9:13] end to this crisis that will lead to the state of homus to be open and to be operating as normal we are in [9:21] contact with different international parties and i'd like to confirm that qatar is committed to the partners [9:29] in the world who depend on the products of the qatar energy and the lng in particular i'd like to confirm [9:38] in this regard that we respect our partners and qatar has proved throughout the history that qatar can be [9:47] trusted very well trusted very well in this regard we will continue our talks with our partners in order [9:52] to reach solution to this matter this is one of our top priorities and this is for the sake of qatar [9:59] and it's their partners will fail it please thank you doctor i have two points we have followed this [10:18] military agreement that is being developed recently according to the current situation between the kingdom [10:24] of saudi arabia and pakistan do you think this is a new approach in defense that will be adopted in the gulf [10:33] area another point if we can listen to your comment about the visit of the seaman president to the state [10:40] of qatar today and the most important matters that will be discussed thank you first of all regarding the [10:48] agreement between our brothers in pakistan and saudi arabia there are as you know important historic [10:56] relations between the gulf and pakistan particularly with the kingdom of saudi arabia and pakistan they [11:02] are very friendly relationship we have coordination throughout the oic and we have seen the visit of [11:11] the pakistan prime minister here to doha this partnership between the broader region is an ongoing [11:21] partnership and we are taking this further development of partnership or defensive partnership regarding [11:29] the state of qatar is a top priority and we need that variation in relations with other parties i don't [11:37] think there is a special situation that needs a special relation with the brothers in pakistan we have [11:45] long relation with them and i think the gulf countries have also long relations with pakistan this is [11:52] very normal within our bilateral partnership his highness the the emir of qatar during [11:59] um he met with the syrian president we express our support to the syrian people and since the very first day [12:08] since the success of the syrian revolution qatar has started to support the new syria in establishing their [12:16] stability and bringing welfare to the people and reaching a serious and syrian consensus that will be [12:25] welcomed by all the categories of the syrian people at the same time we want to add that bilateral [12:35] relations between our both parties are always ongoing development and all the files are open on the [12:40] table we will discuss everything in economy and politics on every matter um has qatar been in [12:55] contact with the iranians uh diplomatically to try and convince them to try and attend these talks in [13:02] pakistan you say that got the supports uh what's happening in pakistan and secondly this ceasefire is set [13:08] to end in a day or so does qatar have contingencies in place or is there expectation that this ceasefire [13:14] will be extended thank you first of all regarding the uh contacts with the iran you have always all [13:20] seen of course the uh the lead out of the call between uh his excellency the prime minister and the iranian [13:26] foreign minister days ago uh this was the last uh official contact between the uh two parties where [13:32] we have urged uh the the iranian counterpart to uh stop attacking this part of uh of the world and [13:42] focus on finding a peaceful uh resolution and uh uh as i said we're supportive of the pakistani [13:48] efforts and we are talking to all the parties in the hopes of uh these talks succeeding for the [13:54] for the benefit of the of all the peoples in the region and uh and beyond uh when it comes to the [13:58] ceasefire of course contingencies are in place when it comes to hard security but also when it comes to [14:03] our national defensive posture as you know our armed forces uh did an amazing job in in protecting our [14:13] country and our people and the residents in qatar doing the uh the attacks before the ceasefire and [14:18] they remain of course ready and all hands are on deck when it comes to protecting our country against any [14:24] further attacks but we are also diplomatically engaging with all parties in the hopes that the [14:29] diplomatic efforts would lead to a continuation of the ceasefire or an end to hostilities altogether of [14:34] course our uh call has always been for an immediate end to this escalation and to a return to the [14:41] negotiation table nando thanks dr masjid andrew mills from reuters what is qatar's understanding about when [14:51] exactly the current ceasefire period ends i mean i think it's quite obvious by the statements uh that are [15:03] made by the parties of uh of that ceasefire not by qatar who is not even uh you know involved as a [15:09] mediator and uh therefore i would you know revert back to uh to the u.s and uh to other parties to [15:15] describe when this is our understanding is just as used and doing following the media from from the [15:23] american perspective and the iranian perspective it's a little bit unclear about exactly when this [15:27] period ends and i wonder if qatar has a has a time or a date that it's working towards [15:32] i don't think it's appropriate for us to make any assumptions i would leave that back to the to the [15:36] u.s side to answer thank you doctor a question from the turkish news agency do you think the israeli [15:51] attacks will continue on lebanon despite the ceasefire and the talks will continue also despite these [16:00] attacks is there any real diplomatic efforts in this connection thank you very much and let me tell [16:07] you and confirm the support of the state of qatar the to the unity of lebanon and the sovereignty of [16:16] lebanon and our condemnation to all violations to the sovereignty of lebanon and these israeli attacks [16:22] that has killed so many lebanese people and uh led to the displacement of more than one million [16:29] citizens we welcome the ceasefire in lebanon and we consider this uh primary step towards the [16:37] escalation of the conflict that will lead to the full commitment of the ceasefire these violations [16:44] of the ceasefire must not uh being uh just like this no the national community must have a word [16:52] regarding these violations hopefully we will reach a lasting uh agreement everything will be sorted out [17:00] during negotiations and uh the case surprise in lebanon and other places we support lebanon very much [17:07] and we support uh our brothers in lebanon on all uh domains [17:13] hi dr majid calipin from afp and we're seeing at least publicly some contradictory statements uh on [17:25] whether talks will take place in islamabad coming days i'm just wondering with that in mind how important [17:31] is it that we see some kind of see from qatar's perspective how important is it that we see [17:36] at least a ceasefire extension uh come out in the in the in the next period um and my i have a question [17:46] about how qatar views the seriousness with which the two parties have taken these discussions um is there [17:55] disquiet in doha over the fact that we have reached this late period in a two-week ceasefire with so much [18:02] ambiguity but over what what will come next thank you uh first of all regarding the importance of [18:07] ceasefire of course our call has always been to the for an end to uh to this war that has put all of [18:12] us at risk here in uh in the region and put international economy and international energy [18:17] markets in a very dangerous place and therefore for us uh the the call has always been to to end this [18:22] war to get back to the negotiation table and to find diplomatic resolution out of this and for [18:27] uh for uh the attacks on our region to uh to stop uh obviously if uh if a deal is not uh reached uh [18:35] qatar supports the current condition of the ceasefire and we are uh aiming to see an exemption uh sorry a [18:41] continuation of the ceasefire until there's a diplomatic uh resolution it is not in anyone's uh benefit [18:48] to return to uh to hostilities that would again put more pressure on international economy but also put [18:54] uh the peoples of the region in all the countries in the region at risk uh regarding the seriousness of [18:59] the parties and talks i think both parties engaged in the first round of the talks in islamabad yes we [19:04] are hearing now contradicting reports in the media uh we are following very uh closely we are quite [19:10] concerned uh and uh we're supportive of uh all the efforts of pakistan but i'll leave it at that [19:15] a few minutes and
