[1:02] After peace talks fail, President Trump is going after Iranian oil revenue. [1:07] Ordering the U.S. military to block ships from entering or exiting Iranian ports. [1:12] Iran says any military vessel approaching the Strait of Hormuz would be a violation of the current ceasefire. [1:18] Threatening that they would be dealt with severely. [1:20] Iran says there was a standoff on Saturday with a U.S. destroyer. [1:24] You must alter course and go back. [1:28] Coalition 121, in transit passage, no challenge is attended to you. [1:34] Overnight, President Trump posted that any Iranian who fires at peaceful vessels will be blown to hell. [1:39] Insisting it's the Iranians who are violating the ceasefire. [1:42] Also posting, we're not going to let Iran make money on selling oil. [1:46] And remember, their promise was that they were going to open the Hormuz Strait. [1:54] They didn't do it. [1:55] They lied. [1:56] This after Vice President J.D. Vance and Iranian negotiators emerged from 21 hours of talks in Pakistan with no deal. [2:04] Vance says Iran would not commit to giving up its nuclear program. [2:07] Iran's foreign minister claims Iran engaged in good faith, but encountered maximalism, shifting goalposts and blockade. [2:14] The Iranians cannot afford to lose 2 million barrels a day of oil revenue. [2:19] So the U.S. is going to give the Iranians a couple of days to think about it. [2:22] Do you really want to call the U.S.'s bluff and attack U.S. forces and restart this war? [2:28] Martha Raddatz is in Islamabad. [2:31] The president has repeatedly said we have already won this war. [2:35] And while tactically this has been seemingly successful, Iran's effective closure of the strait in response [2:42] and what that has done to world oil prices has given them a huge bargaining chip [2:47] and added growing pressure for the president to end the war. [2:50] President Trump launched an extraordinary attack on Pope Leo overnight. [2:54] He called the first American pope, quote, weak on crime and terrible for foreign policy. [2:59] This is after Pope Leo had said a delusion of omnipotence was fueling the U.S.-Israeli war with Iran [3:05] and that the president's threat to wipe out Iranian civilization was truly unacceptable. [3:10] Trump posting, [3:10] I don't want a pope who criticizes the president of the United States [3:13] because I'm doing exactly what I was elected in a landslide to do. [3:17] And that, quote, [3:18] Leo should get his act together as pope, use common sense, stop catering to the radical left [3:22] and focus on being a great pope, not a politician. [3:26] He also posted this image on Truth Social and said this. [3:30] He's a man that doesn't think that we should be toying with a country [3:36] that wants a nuclear weapon so they can blow up the world. [3:40] I'm not a fan of Pope Leo. [3:43] The pope had this response. [3:45] I do not look at my role as being a political politician. [3:49] I don't want to get into a debate with him. [3:52] I don't think that the message of the gospel is meant to be abused [3:56] in the way that some people are doing. [3:59] And I will continue to speak out loud. [4:01] It's against war, looking to promote peace, [4:04] promoting dialogue and multilateral relationships among the states [4:08] to look for just solutions to the problems. [4:10] Too many people are suffering in the world today. [4:12] Too many innocent people are being killed. [4:14] And I think someone has to stand up and say there's a better way to do this. [4:19] Also breaking overnight, [4:20] one of the leading candidates for governor of California is out of the race. [4:24] Democratic congressman Eric Swalwell says he's suspending his campaign. [4:27] This is after accusations of sexual assault and inappropriate conduct by four women, [4:32] according to the San Francisco Chronicle and CNN. [4:35] Swalwell and his attorney have not yet commented, [4:37] but he previously denied the allegations and questioned their timing. [4:40] Republicans say they plan to force a vote this week to expel him from Congress, [4:45] with some Democrats already saying they'll support it. [4:47] Many are calling him to resign his seat. [4:49] Bahamas prosecutors face a deadline today. [4:53] Charge Brian Hooker in connection with his wife's disappearance in the Bahamas or release him. [4:57] The Michigan man insists he's innocent, [4:59] saying his wife Lynette fell off their small boat and was swept out to sea. [5:03] Hooker has been questioned for hours by police. [5:06] If you have not located the person, [5:10] how can you say that harm was caused to the person? [5:14] And if you have not discovered a body, [5:16] how can you say whether or not vote play was involved, which led to death? [5:22] One of President Trump's closest European allies, [5:25] Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, [5:27] has lost his bid for re-election in a landslide. [5:30] The EU described his 16 years in power as an electoral autocracy, [5:34] during which he weakened judicial independence, [5:37] restricted press freedoms and rewrote the constitution to benefit his party. [5:41] He was Vladimir Putin's closest ally in Europe, [5:43] often standing in the way of aid for Ukraine. [5:46] Vice President J.D. Vance visited Budapest last week to try and help him win. [5:50] But now a former Orban ally, Peter Magyar, is set to take over. [5:55] He told a cheering crowd that truth prevailed over lies. [5:59] Artemis II's crew is now safely back on Earth. [6:02] They arrived back at NASA headquarters in Houston to a hero's welcome over the weekend. [6:06] This image of an inflatable green alien aboard the USS Merthyr went viral. [6:11] A sailor brought it on board for some laughs. [6:14] And now NASA is looking ahead to Artemis III, which is set to launch in 2027, [6:18] and Artemis IV, planned for 2028, [6:21] which is aimed at landing astronauts on the moon's south pole [6:24] to assemble a gateway lunar space station. [6:27] And we have much more what you need to know. [6:29] Now, to take three, the stories that you'll be talking about today. [6:43] Number three, San Francisco police say two people were arrested [6:47] after gunshots were fired at OpenAI CEO Sam Altman's home Sunday night. [6:52] Police say multiple firearms were recovered from the suspects. [6:54] This two days after a man allegedly threw a Molotov cocktail at Altman's home. [6:58] That suspect was later arrested near OpenAI's headquarters. [7:02] Number two, it was a tale of two shows at Coachella this weekend [7:06] where fans braved high winds, blowing dust, and 90-degree heat. [7:10] Headliner Sabrina Carpenter wowed the crowds, [7:12] transforming the stage into Sabrina Wood, [7:15] complete with oversized set pieces and costume changes. [7:18] There was also a surprise appearance by Susan Sarandon. [7:21] But Justin Bieber, his performance got a different kind of reaction, [7:25] with some fans calling it sleepy. [7:27] The pop star was on stage scrolling through YouTube [7:30] while singing along to his hits. [7:32] Katy Perry and boyfriend, former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, [7:35] were there, and a surprise for fans, [7:37] Jennifer Lopez made her Coachella debut. [7:41] And number one, Rory McIlroy had a dramatic repeat win at the Masters [7:46] after nearly blowing an historic lead. [7:48] He's the fourth man in history to win back-to-back Masters tournaments, [7:52] the first since Tiger Woods in 2002. [7:55] This year, extra sweet for him, [7:57] because last year his parents couldn't be there [7:59] because they were moving house. [8:01] And now, one more thing before you go. [8:03] Bob Hall, a childhood polio survivor [8:05] who became known as the father of wheelchair racing, [8:08] has died. [8:09] In 1975, he convinced Boston Marathon organizers [8:11] to allow him into the race. [8:13] Hall crossed the finish line in less than three hours. [8:16] He fought for marathons around the world [8:17] to include wheelchair divisions, [8:19] saying it wasn't about the race, [8:21] it was about the inclusion. [8:22] Bob Hall was 74. [8:24] And that's what you need to know [8:25] for breaking news and live updates throughout the day. [8:28] Check out ABC News streaming on Disney+. [8:30] This is streaming every day on Disney+.
