REMARKS: Trump's first midterms election campaign rally

[0:08] Let's just listen in and see what kind of ovation he gets. [0:11] Thank you very much, and I'm thrilled to be back [2:37] in the great state of Iowa [2:39] with so many proud, hardworking American patriots, [2:46] which is what you are. [2:47] It's an amazing state. [2:49] What a place. [2:50] Boy, do we have some victories here with it. [2:51] The greatest. [2:54] So exactly two years ago this month, [2:56] it was the people of Iowa [2:58] who put us on a rocket ship back to the White House. [3:03] That was a quick one. [3:10] After a rigged election, we had a rigged election. [3:12] I said, do we do it again? [3:15] And I said, I think we better do it again. [3:17] Not too many people would have said that. [3:20] But we did so well the second time. [3:22] I said, well, we won twice. [3:25] We got to do it a third time. [3:31] Should we do it a fourth time? [3:32] We got the right team over there. [3:40] The right team. [3:41] We got the right team over there. [3:43] We said, geez, that would be easy for you. [3:45] That would be work. [3:47] But you came out by the thousands [3:48] in a cold and snowy winter evening. [3:50] Remember that beautiful evening? [3:52] And together we won the Iowa caucuses [3:55] in a 30-point landslide. [3:57] That was great. [4:00] I'll never forget it. [4:01] It was so freezing. [4:03] You think it's cold now? [4:04] That blew it away. [4:07] Whatever happened to global warming? [4:09] You know, it's like one of those things. [4:15] But it was the coldest night. [4:16] I remember it was way below zero. [4:19] And they say, sir, you don't have to come [4:21] till 10 or 11 o'clock [4:22] because a caucus takes longer. [4:24] Then I got to call it, like, [4:26] let's say the polls close at 7. [4:29] Sir, you've won. [4:31] I said, I won what? [4:32] They told me 10 o'clock. [4:33] They can't announce. [4:34] They said, you won by so much. [4:36] They just called it at one minute after 7. [4:38] So we made the journey. [4:46] And we made that journey [4:48] through all the cars and everything else. [4:49] And we made a speech. [4:50] But what an evening that was. [4:52] Then in November, [4:52] we won this state by a massive landslide. [4:56] That was incredible. [4:58] In the election. [4:59] And we then went on to win all swing states, [5:02] all seven of them. [5:03] They said, seven swing? [5:04] Well, he could win four of them. [5:06] He's doing very well. [5:07] But we won seven. [5:09] We won the Electoral College 312 to 226. [5:13] We won the popular vote [5:15] for the first time of any Republican [5:17] in many decades [5:18] by millions and millions of votes. [5:20] And we won a category that's very important. [5:24] We won 86% of all counties in America, [5:29] 2,700 to 525. [5:31] How about that? [5:37] Other than that, we didn't do too well. [5:40] So now we're back where it all started [5:42] to celebrate the greatest first year [5:44] of any administration in American history. [5:46] They say that. [5:47] Even the radical left is saying, [5:49] only we did a lot of things. [5:51] 12 months ago, Joe Biden handed us a mess. [5:55] We inherited the legacy of record high inflation. [5:58] The highest inflation [6:00] in the history of our country. [6:02] They say the fake news. [6:03] Ooh, that's a lot of fake news. [6:06] No, the fake news, the fake news said it's 48 years. [6:11] I remember recently I said the highest inflation, [6:14] the worst, I believe this by the way, [6:17] worse than the history of our country. [6:19] They said it wasn't the worst. [6:21] It was 48 years. [6:22] I said, that's okay too. [6:24] Somehow that sounds even worse [6:26] than when you say the history, right? [6:28] 48 years, I accepted that. [6:31] But I think, [6:32] they say just after one year of President Trump, [6:35] our economy is booming, incomes are rising, [6:37] investment is soaring, inflation has been defeated. [6:41] Our border is closed, totally closed. [6:48] And America is respected all over the world [6:51] like they've never been respected. [6:52] One year, I thought it would take us two years. [6:55] I guess I'm following in the great path of John Deere. [6:58] We got the chairman of John Deere here. [6:59] Chairman and CEO, that's pretty good. [7:04] I even signed a John Deere hat for him. [7:06] He said, I'm gonna put this in the museum. [7:08] I said, that's good. [7:10] No, it's a great company, great company. [7:12] And you just said you're opening up two massive plants [7:14] because of tariffs. [7:16] You're opening up one in North Carolina, [7:18] one someplace else. [7:21] And you're expanding all over the place. [7:24] You're doing a great job. [7:25] I bought a lot of John Deere stuff. [7:28] I bought a lot of John Deere. [7:29] It's a great company. [7:30] It's an honor to have you. [7:31] Thank you very much. [7:33] This has been the most dramatic one year turnaround [7:36] of any country in history. [7:37] In terms of the speed, [7:38] I really thought it would take us two or three years [7:40] to do what we're doing. [7:41] You know, we're the greatest, [7:43] the number one country anywhere in history in the world, [7:46] anywhere in history for investment coming into the country. [7:50] And it's amazing. [7:52] And it's because of tariffs. [7:53] And it's also because of the fact [7:55] that we had such a tremendous November 5th, [7:57] that November 5th brought spirit back to our country, [8:00] came back. [8:01] You know, one thing I think which is so important is, [8:06] if you remember a year and a half ago, [8:08] we couldn't get people to enlist in the military, any of them, [8:11] Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, any of them, [8:14] the Coast Guard, Space Force. [8:16] I love the Space Force, right? [8:18] We couldn't get them. [8:18] And even police departments, they couldn't get anybody [8:21] with a uniform that represented the country. [8:23] You couldn't get them. [8:25] And today we have the single greatest recruitment numbers [8:29] in the history of our military. [8:31] The police forces are loaded. [8:33] Law enforcement is loaded up. [8:36] And everybody wants to be a policeman, a fireman. [8:39] They want to be, [8:41] they want to be in the military, any branch. [8:43] I mean, we literally, they couldn't get them. [8:46] A year and a half ago, nobody wanted to be in the military. [8:48] Now everybody wants to be in the military. [8:50] It's an amazing thing that's happened, [8:52] an amazing turnaround. [8:54] And all because we have a president [8:56] who does something very simple, puts America first. [9:01] Right? Right? Thank you. [9:15] So under my leadership, [9:16] economic growth is exploding to numbers unheard of. [9:20] They've never had them before in recent times. [9:23] You know, and we're just getting started. [9:25] You know, the great big, beautiful bill, [9:27] which is no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, [9:31] no tax on social security for our seniors. [9:34] Do we have any seniors in here? [9:36] Do we have any seniors in here? [9:43] One of the fake news said he did that [9:46] because he doesn't want to pay tax on his social security. [9:50] That's what I never thought of. [9:52] These are sick, these are sick people. [9:55] But despite the fact that we've just truly started, [9:58] we just kick it in because we inherited [9:59] such a horrible situation with all of the high prices [10:03] and the inflation and everything else. [10:04] And by the way, the open borders, [10:07] we had millions and everything you see today wouldn't happen. [10:11] They opened the borders, but we had a 5.4%. [10:15] And since the election, [10:16] the stock market has set 52 all time highs, [10:19] adding $9 trillion in value to your savings, [10:23] retirement account, and 401ks, so 401k, [10:31] which is a lot of people. [10:32] I mean, of which you got a lot of people. [10:33] Does anybody have a 401k in the audience? [10:36] A lot of people. [10:38] So you're setting records, right? [10:39] The highest it's ever been. [10:41] They say this, you know, the good stock market, [10:43] they say, well, this stock market, [10:45] you know, they can't get, they just try so hard. [10:47] This stock market doesn't affect the middle class. [10:50] I say, what about a 401k? [10:52] What about all the other things? [10:54] What about the fact that they're making more salary [10:56] than they've ever made? [10:58] But the stock market's the highest. [10:59] How is John Deere stock doing, great? [11:02] It's all time high. [11:03] It's all time. [11:04] Everyone, I don't have to even ask the question. [11:06] I mean, I made a lot of people rich. [11:09] Me, I just keep working. [11:11] I made a lot of people rich. [11:13] I made a lot of people rich that I don't even like. [11:16] I got a lot of people that I don't like at all, [11:18] and I've made them, I've doubled their net worth. [11:21] But after four years in which Biden got less [11:24] than $1 trillion in new investment, think of it. [11:26] He took in substantially less in four years than 1 trillion. [11:31] We secured commitments for a record breaking, [11:34] $18 trillion. [11:36] So in one year, we did over $18 trillion, [11:40] and he did less than 1 trillion. [11:46] Just over one year ago under sleepy Joe Biden [11:49] and the radical left lunatics, we were a dead country. [11:54] We were a dead country. [11:55] I tell you, one year ago, a little more than one year ago, [11:57] we were a dead country. [11:58] The King of Saudi Arabia told me that. [11:59] You've heard me say it. [12:15] And today, I'm pleased to announce [12:17] one more historic investment, the great American company [12:21] that we just talked about is doing so much. [12:23] I have to give it, really. [12:26] I buy so much equipment from so many of the people in the, [12:30] you know, we have a lot of very successful companies in here. [12:33] But I know it's a very special deal [12:36] because John Deere is doing $70 million in factory [12:40] in North Carolina. [12:41] It's brand new, the best in the world. [12:43] And I think it's gonna pay off very, very big. [12:47] And if it doesn't, I have nothing to do with it, [12:50] but if it does, I'm gonna take full credit. [12:56] But what it is is an excavator factory, as I understand it. [13:00] And it's gonna be the only excavator factory, [13:03] in other words, excavators. [13:04] We all know, I love those excavators. [13:06] Believe it or not, I know a lot about them. [13:08] We don't make them here. [13:10] This is gonna be the only excavator, [13:12] entirely, [13:13] made in the United States of America. [13:15] So that's good, that's good. [13:18] I love it, I love it, it's great. [13:24] And they'll all come. [13:25] I hate to tell you, but they're all gonna be coming too. [13:28] You're gonna have some competition, [13:30] but you'll be ahead of them. [13:31] If congressional Democrats had their way this year, [13:34] we'd right now be facing the largest tax hike. [13:37] So they wanted to give you, [13:39] this is what I was running against, [13:41] the largest tax hike in the history of our country. [13:44] I wanted to give you the largest tax cut, [13:47] in the history of our country. [13:52] And if they won, this country would be cratering right now. [13:55] It would be cratering. [13:56] So I've cut a record number of job killing regulations. [14:00] The reason our job numbers are so good, [14:02] and remember this, [14:04] I've cut hundreds of thousands of federal jobs. [14:08] Now, if I didn't do that, [14:10] our numbers would be even more through the roof. [14:13] Or I could get them. [14:14] You know what they do? [14:15] In order to have decent numbers, [14:17] they hire a million people. [14:18] You hire a million people, [14:19] all of a sudden you're down to three and a half percent. [14:22] We don't do that. [14:23] We get rid of that job, [14:25] where you have 10 jobs for every, [14:27] you have 10 people for every job. [14:29] And they are all now, [14:31] and they hated me. [14:35] They all got jobs in the private sector, [14:37] making twice as much money [14:39] as they made from the federal government. [14:40] Sometimes much more than that. [14:43] So a year ago they hated me, [14:45] and now they love me. [14:47] But it includes dozens of burdensome regulations [14:50] that were crushing our amazing farmers. [15:33] This is a campaign-style year ahead of 2026 [15:37] of what we're expecting. [15:38] So potentially it could be on social media. [23:01] So Japan will now allow the United States [23:05] to supply up to 100% of automobile ethanol, [23:09] automotive ethanol, and import large amounts [23:13] of aviation biofuels from the United States. [23:17] That's great for you. [23:18] That was part of the deal that we made. [23:20] The United Kingdom will import nearly $1 billion of ethanol. [23:25] That's part of their deal. [23:28] Australia is allowing American beef [23:31] for the first time in more than 20 years. [23:34] Did you know that? [23:36] And beef is doing great, [23:37] and we got to get the prices down a little bit, [23:39] and they're starting to come down pretty much. [23:41] China has agreed to purchase over $40 billion [23:44] of US-grown soybeans. [23:45] You know that. You're selling them. [23:49] They're selling them. [23:51] And I went to President Xi, and he's upping it. [23:53] I mean, it's $40 billion. [23:55] The European Union will dramatically increase purchases [23:58] of American pork, dairy, and soybean oil. [24:01] They never did that before. [24:02] They're all doing things that they never did before. [24:05] Because you have a certain president [24:06] that's a little bit different [24:07] from the presidency that you had before. [24:11] And nations from Cambodia to Thailand [24:16] to the Philippines and Indonesia [24:18] are eliminating all trade barriers to agricultural products. [24:22] Your agricultural products had trade barriers [24:26] that didn't allow them to be sold in countries [24:28] that are now saying, [24:29] oh, please, we'd love to accept your product. [24:31] So that's great. [24:32] It's gonna be, you're gonna see it starting to kick in now [24:34] for the farmers. [24:35] And to further help, [24:36] our farmers recover from the, [24:39] really a catastrophe of the Biden years. [24:41] What a period of years that we had. [24:44] We had a country that was just dead. [24:46] We had a country that was just not respected by anybody. [24:51] We had a guy who didn't know where the hell he was. [25:25] And she said $12 billion. [25:26] And I wrote a check for $12 billion [25:29] because we have so much money from the tariffs coming in. [25:32] So you couldn't have done that before. [25:39] There are people from literally that very China-oriented and foreign country-oriented [25:45] trying to stop that. [25:47] But we'll get it done one way or the other. [26:44] I want to be there in person to tell them, the people of Iowa, to know that I am... [26:51] I'm trusting Speaker Mike Johnson, who's great, and Leader John Thune, who's great. [26:58] That's House and Senate. [27:00] To find a deal that works, we've got it. [27:03] For farmers, consumers, and refiners, including small and midsize refiners, in other words, [27:08] to get E15 approved. [27:10] And they're working on it. [27:11] They're very close to getting it done. [27:13] So I just wanted to let you know that. [27:22] And China will be sending me a bill very shortly supporting year-round E15 to my desk very [27:27] quickly. [27:28] I will sign it without delay, okay? [27:37] You know, the worst thing about the midterms is the fact that no matter what happens, the [27:43] people that win the presidency, you win the... [27:46] Even if you're a good president, I think we had the best first year of any president [27:49] ever, maybe, they say, but if you have any great... [56:15] I've offered him, come to Washington, come to Washington, take any position. [56:21] But he likes it. [56:22] He just doesn't want to leave. [56:23] I think he just wants to stay in Iowa. [56:25] I don't blame you. [56:27] But you are fantastic. [56:29] But we've won all three times by a lot. [56:32] But this is the thing. [56:33] But this used to, until we came along, this used to be a Democrat state. [56:37] And then we turned, and Barack Hussein Obama, have you heard of him? [56:42] He won both times. [56:43] Didn't he win both? [56:44] He won twice. [56:45] You know, Barack Hussein Obama, wonderful president. [56:48] Really brought people together, didn't he? [56:51] But Barack Obama won twice, you know? [56:55] And so everyone said, well, Iowa, you know, they had this down as not winnable. [56:59] And we won in a landslide. [58:17] He was flanked by different lawmakers [58:19] from the Hawkeye State, [58:21] Ashley Hinson, Zach Nunn there as well. [58:24] Inside, Air Force One, [58:26] a quick trip over to Iowa on this Tuesday. [58:29] Just about 6.30 on the East Coast, [58:33] potentially heading back to the White House now. [59:18] Somewhat of a pullback of force there [59:20] from federal officials. [59:21] And then he did speak at that diner in Iowa [59:24] to reporters as well, [59:26] talking a lot about affordability in that conversation.
