"good everything good news but the job numbers just came out and they were fantastic far better than even anticipated they anticipated pretty good but they had no idea was going to be that and unfortunately we're in a world where for the last 15 years or so when you have good numbers the market goes"

[2:57] good everything good news but the job numbers just came out and they were fantastic far better than [3:04] even anticipated they anticipated pretty good but they had no idea was going to be that [3:10] and unfortunately we're in a world where for the last 15 years or so when you have good numbers [3:16] the market goes down when you have bad numbers the market goes up because too much emphasis is [3:22] placed on inflation and you don't have to have inflation by having growth and we have great [3:28] growth and that doesn't mean inflation in fact it can be anti-inflation growth so i hope the market [3:36] starts to learn that when you have good numbers the market should go up not down question i'm sorry [3:44] given those job numbers do you think the fed should cut rates at its next meeting and do you think new [3:49] chair kevin warsh can convince the rest of the company make that decision i'd like to see lower [3:53] interest rates because each point think of this is 600 million dollars you said yesterday [4:04] uh you're interviewing some candidates for permanent director of national intelligence who's under [4:09] consideration for it um i have five interviews and we'll have a very good person watching things bill [4:18] pulte but i have five interviews so cutting rates out just getting back to you you save hundreds of [4:26] millions of dollars when you take one point hundreds of millions of dollars two points you save double [4:34] hundreds of millions of dollars and so i therefore you know from that standpoint but someday we're [4:42] gonna have to go back to your theory when we're doing so good we have more auto plans being built [4:50] than we've ever had we have more plans being built than we've had all these numbers are good but when [4:55] the numbers are good we should be allowed to grow not to stymie the growth we had a fence here that [5:03] didn't understand that pricing in a cut actually for the october meeting would like to see that but [5:10] i leave that up a hike a hike for october i leave it up to kevin but uh i've always said i've said it [5:17] for years when you have a country that's doing well the market should go up the market should and the [5:25] reason they go down is if it's doing well people say no we have to stop inflation and it doesn't mean [5:30] inflation in fact it could be just the office before the midterm elections mean though if they [5:36] were to hike we're gonna save 600 600 billion dollars every point to cut the uh office mr why do you [5:46] want bill pulty to cut the office of the director of national intelligence and how long is he going [5:50] to be in that role depends on how long it takes to get somebody approved uh he'll do a very good job [5:55] he'll you'll watch it closely but uh bill pulty is very good he's very talented done a great job at [6:03] fannie mae freddie mac uh we the value there is close to a trillion dollars we built a value that's [6:10] incredible uh so he's done a very good job and that he'll do a good job he's watching for you know [6:15] during this time period uh the number of people working there i never heard that's way too high for [6:21] way too long yeah i wouldn't mind if he cut i wouldn't mind that artificial intelligence are you [6:28] considering the possibility of the u.s government taking stakes in some ai companies well something [6:34] i did it with intel so i made a deal on intel you know we made i made for the country 50 billion dollars [6:43] we took a stake in intel it was given to us by our helpmate i said look we'll help you but you have [6:51] to give us 10 of the company that was intel just nine months ago and as i think you know we made [6:58] about 50 billion dollars on that deal would you want to do it very good job i should be a stock [7:03] broker yes sir beautiful i'm going to change the subject if you don't mind did you get a chance to [7:08] watch game one of the nba finals what'd you think i'll be going to game three i guess it's game three on [7:15] monday uh i thought it was amazing i think that i think the knicks have an amazing team the way they [7:20] played started off slow and it just got stronger and stronger wendy looks like he's going to be a [7:27] great player but they really played well did you see wendy crossing his arms during the u.s national [7:34] anthem did you have any thoughts on that i did not see that is that what he did he did yes what did he [7:39] mean by that nobody asked him i guess you have to ask him who's your favorite nick fantastic towns is [7:50] fantastic you just have a great team why do you think that the game you're going to the cheapest [7:57] price for the game three you're going to is eight thousand dollars everyday americans can't afford these [8:02] sporting events they can watch it on television sort of semi-free to watch it on television but [8:09] that's the way life goes you know for some and now if the game wasn't a big if the team wasn't a big [8:16] success you could go very easily so you know you can you can do that too but that's the way life is [8:22] you know and they've had great success and don't forget they've suffered also losses and they've [8:28] suffered during the bad time now they have a good time they have a team that's amazing i don't think [8:34] they've lost the playoff camera do you have any very unusual has that ever happened before has it [8:39] has anyone ever had this kind of a run in a playoff game on the new promenade you announced [8:46] yesterday mr president where is the funding going to come from probably it's not a lot of money and [8:52] it's going to be beautiful you know it's always been the lincoln memorial has always been very tied [8:57] to the potomac river but they built two roadways behind it unexpectedly at the time many years ago but [9:05] after the memorial was built it used to have a tie to the river and then the highways cut it off [9:11] and we have a really beautiful plan where it goes over a beautiful a beautiful uh series of platforms [9:19] that bring you right down to the river it's beautiful what's a problem it's a beautiful promenade [9:26] uh probably uh well it could come from a lot of we have a lot of sources of funding we won't have to [9:31] go back to congress we have a lot of sources of funding and a lot of people have asked me to stay [9:38] involved with the kennedy center we had a judge who's totally conflicted but that's all right he's [9:43] a totally conflicted judge should be ashamed of himself but uh they've asked me in the strongest of [9:49] language to stay involved with the kennedy center we want to see because the building will i mean it's [9:54] a very it's very dangerous number one number two it was losing for years tremendous amounts of money [10:00] so well i'm considering that but a lot of people have asked me to get it fixed we have to fix the [10:05] kennedy center both physically and from the standpoint of attendance on oil and gas prices [10:14] i know you're saying that the oil prices and gas prices will fall after the conflict against [10:18] would you limit exports of gasoline if prices in the short term go up we have a lot of alternatives but [10:24] the beautiful thing from our standpoint is we have more oil and gas and coal and everything else in [10:29] any other country or the planet and then when you add venezuela to it uh we have probably 64 [10:38] percent of that type of energy that's unbelievable the venezuela is working out very well we're [10:46] getting along incredibly the country is happy the people love the usa and we have a lot of you know [10:53] the big oil companies are moving in there now as we speak and we're going to be taking out millions [10:58] of barrels are u.s oil majors doing enough to boost output in the u.s are you asking them to do more [11:04] well we have we have everything we need the world doesn't but i will say people thought it was going [11:11] to be a lot worse you know today i looked at 96 a barrel people thought that was going to be 300 a [11:17] barrel and in the meantime we're having great success with iran we they're not going to have a nuclear [11:22] weapon and they're in no position to have a nuclear weapon senator tillis said he won't support [11:28] todd blanche's confirmation unless todd blanche condemns january 6th do you have a reaction to [11:33] that senator tillis is a loser that's why he didn't run he didn't run because i wouldn't support him [11:40] and he's just an angry man because he's not going to be a senator anymore he wasn't respected in the [11:47] senate he fought a lot of people he fought beat hexath beat hexath turned out to be a gem [11:52] uh now senator tillis is a loser so cold and he's an angry man because i basically he he was forced [12:02] to leave the senate because i wouldn't support him and he quit so now he's trying to make trouble by [12:07] you know opposing anybody todd blanche is a brilliant guy who everybody likes and everybody respects [12:14] and tillis is always like i'm going to do this i'm going to do that he should have done it before when [12:19] he was a senator he would have gotten wiped out in a race but he needed my support and i said i can't [12:24] give you my support he's not qualified he's he's not he's not good for the position of senator i didn't [12:31] hear about what he did with todd blanche todd blanche is fantastic sir all the ai companies potentially [12:37] taking these equity stakes have you spoken to sam altman or any of the other anthropologists out there [12:43] there's so much money and it's so big that there are concepts where pieces could be given to the [12:50] american public where the american public essentially becomes a partner with the company with the [12:56] companies and i will tell you yeah i have i have spoken all of them there's something very interesting [13:02] about it where it almost becomes a partnership with the american public and we'll look into that we're [13:09] going to we are looking i actually have a meeting scheduled in the very short very near future [13:15] with did you know that with all of the companies and we're talking about it where the american people [13:22] can benefit from the success of ai and by doing that they're going to like it better because we're [13:30] leading china we're leading everybody in the world with ai and we want to keep it that way it's probably [13:35] the biggest industry maybe that we've ever seen which companies in the meeting all of them all [13:41] the big ones spacex they're all coming to the white house probably next week and the idea that that [13:47] would be dividends for the american people you see i mean we're going to see sort of it's like you [13:52] make them a partnership in this revolution would be a beautiful thing and it would make them it would [13:57] make them rich senator bernie sanders proposed this 50 percent managed public private partnership [14:03] well i've been talking about it for the last year but is it odd to be kind of on the same page with [14:09] senator sanders no actually when bernie sanders was taken advantage of with hillary clinton and he lost [14:19] in the primaries a lot of people think he didn't lose i mean he got two of them right he was then and [14:24] he lost a second time with with bite but uh when bernie sanders lost you know that i got many of his [14:31] people they voted for me because we are on an economic plan as far as economics is concerned [14:39] we have certain things that aren't that far apart people are surprised but many of the as you if you'll [14:45] take a look many of the people that voted for bernie sanders when he was no longer there to vote for [14:51] they went to me i picked up a lot of his a tremendous amount of his voters how many um how much oil have you [15:00] gotten through the straight with the help of naval escorts and are you asking are you directing us [15:04] forces to guide those ships through the straight more tankers a lot i don't want to say how many [15:09] but a lot a lot of oil is coming into our country a lot of oil is coming into the world that people [15:14] don't even know about and that's why it's at 97 a barrel instead of 300 a barrel and when that whole [15:22] thing is straightened out it shouldn't take long one way the other it's going to get done and when [15:26] it's all straightened out you're going to have oil prices drop down to maybe even lower than they [15:30] were i would and you've heard me say this i was in iowa and for a gallon of gasoline it was at 185 [15:40] that was three and a half months ago last year the fbi reopened last year the fbi reopened its [15:46] investigation into the cocaine found in the white house during the biden administration have you been [15:51] briefed on where that investigation stands no but i might ask about it i might ask you mean in the [15:57] shelves where they found the cocaine actually i might i might ask about it decision on the arms [16:06] sales to taiwan that package the 14 billion are you still planning to talk to taiwan's president [16:12] about it we'll always talk to him but we're looking at it what was your reaction to john [16:17] bolton agreeing to plead guilty in the classified documents well i was never much of a fan of john [16:23] bolt i never thought he was a smart person and he was a radical uh right in terms of war not in [16:31] terms of other things he was he wanted to go to war with anybody that opened their mouth anybody that [16:37] talked uh and i used him for a purpose you know he was involved with bush and he created a lot of [16:43] problems but he always wanted to kill people and in war and that was okay for me as long as i didn't [16:52] listen to him which i never did he's a he's a bad guy john bolt he's a dirty guy and we caught him [16:59] we caught him and uh you know he wrote a book you look at all the information he took i mean if you [17:06] look at that case it's uh it's a great honor to have helped from the standpoint of encouragement i looked [17:14] at john bolton as somebody that was a very dishonest guy and not a smart guy and i guess he's paying the [17:22] price for certainly being dishonest hey center sir how do you want to be involved moving forward [17:28] the same way it is i'm the chairman so we'll just keep it going somebody has to do it it loses a lot [17:34] of money it has for years it's lost hundreds of millions of dollars for years and yet it's something [17:42] you have to keep going you know it's the arts they all lose money carnegie all you take a look at [17:48] all of that kind of thing loses so they really everybody they want me to say very badly so we're [17:54] gonna we're gonna take a look you also mentioned fannie mae and the judge really hurt the kennedy [18:00] senator because he slowed down we were gonna you know we're gonna spend a lot of money on fixing it [18:04] and making it bringing it back to health and the judge really made it very hard to do that but we'll [18:09] look we're gonna i'm gonna look at his ruling on that but we have to bring it back physically we have to [18:15] bring it back and we have to bring it back in other ways so we'll take a good look at it you [18:20] mentioned fannie mae and freddie mac with pulte's move over is now acting dni is an ipo off the table [18:29] no it's not we're thinking about an ipo for that when it's not a rush but we've created it you know i [18:37] could have sold that for literally less than 10 percent in my first term i was offered a lot of people [18:44] were offering me money to me meaning the country to buy fannie mae freddie mac as you know and it [18:52] suffered tremendous hardship and then we built it back and i could have sold it in my first term for [18:59] one-tenth of what it's worth now and i didn't want to do it now i think we you know we would consider an [19:05] ipo you and he would stay at he would potentially see that through he's staying there so who are the [19:10] people you're talking to for dni can you give us some names five different people all very good [19:16] all people that you know very well all people that do that kind of thing and they're very respected [19:22] people mr president what do you think about major league baseball owners pushing for a salary cap do [19:27] you think it's time for baseball to have a salary cap you sort of have one it's a luxury tax threshold [19:35] but the teams that have the money are willing to spend it like the dodgers you don't have a salary cap [19:38] you don't have a sport because they can't help themselves you know in sports they can't help [19:43] themselves football has a salary cap every major professional league accepts major league baseball [19:49] in america they should have done it a long time ago i know i know so much about sports [19:55] they should have done it a long time ago we're trying to help save college sports because they got [20:00] some rulings that really essentially destroyed uh college sports and we're working with randy levine and [20:08] nick saban and some great people who are trying to save it because it's so horrible what do you [20:13] think could happen if this nil just gets completely out of control and nobody checks in well i think [20:17] what's going to happen if you don't have what they're trying to do now that's sort of a cap in a [20:21] certain way if you don't have that you you really have a problem not only college but it's colleges [20:28] where you see where penn state lost 500 million dollars where a certain school that i like very much in [20:35] florida they lose four or five hundred you can't you can't have that nobody can afford that because [20:42] they go crazy that's why when you say major league baseball major league baseball it's shocking [20:48] frankly that they didn't put a cap on many years ago they had a chance to do a cap and they blew it [20:54] sir on ukraine now that selensky has proposed a face-to-face meeting with selensky do you still [20:59] want them to go first before the u.s gets involved and talks about it i don't mind i mean it's let them [21:04] deals i'm the one that got them to this position and i think that's going to get worked out i think [21:11] we're getting close to where russia ukraine should have it's a war that should have never happened [21:15] would have never happened if i was president but i think i think that's going to get worked out you [21:20] know secretary rubio take a more active role or do you expect it still be jared and steve jd everybody [21:26] we want to see it done you know we're not spending money they're buying things from us actually at full [21:32] price with biden he gave him everything he just gave him hundreds of billions of dollars of weapons [21:40] and everything else but uh it's a war that should have never happened and it's a war that has to be [21:46] last week 25 000 people over the course of the month 25 000 people were killed russia ukraine 25 000 [21:54] it's not acceptable not acceptable thank you very much have a good time [21:59] thank you sir thank you
