"there's obviously no secret and i said that you know you you wore a hat at one point saying trump was right on everything and uh you know you know that he's never been a beacon of moral principle his evangelical christian supporters admitted that they called him an unlikely vessel yet chosen by god"

[0:00] there's obviously no secret and i said that you know you you wore a hat at one point saying trump [0:04] was right on everything and uh you know you know that he's never been a beacon of moral principle [0:11] his evangelical christian supporters admitted that they called him an unlikely vessel yet chosen by [0:17] god for a higher purpose i.e that it was somewhat transactional we'll support him and he will help us [0:23] get our christian principles um enacted into law and you know what happened with roe versus wade [0:29] and the other i guess what i'm trying to say is based on what you knew about trump then are you [0:35] surprised that he violates christian principles or even what you're saying in terms of maga principles [0:41] american america first principles now should you have known better it's very hard to explain in [0:49] in just a short matter of minutes i've so i only knew president trump while he was out of office [0:55] i didn't know him during my first term as i wasn't a member of congress then and i became a member [1:00] of congress in january of 2021 so i campaigned for the president um and that was my relationship with [1:07] him it was after he came into office in 2025 where i started to see him differently where he began to [1:15] change and began to support issues that he was against uh just just before that before he became president [1:23] uh so that's been my my personal experience um is is he going back on uh what many christians want to [1:34] see happen i would say so um and again i can just only speak for myself you essentially have broken [1:41] with trump and he has i suppose broken with you he does a play on on words with your name marjorie [1:47] traitor green etc can you explain to me what is going on do you think not necessarily first first [1:55] i want to ask you why you think trump is behaving this way what he said about civilizational erasure [2:02] in iran what he said about you know this this uh jesus depiction what do you think is going on [2:11] uh thank you for bringing that up just to be clear president trump called me a traitor [2:15] because i i fought to release the epstein files defending women who were raped at 14 and 16 years [2:22] old and i would not obey his demands of taking my name off that discharge petition that's why he calls [2:29] me a traitor i'm not a traitor to the united states i stand with women and stand with victims [2:34] i don't know what's going on but i think that is the conversation that needs to be had as a matter of [2:40] fact i think it's an extremely important conversation why the president of the united states [2:45] wants to portray himself as god and and why he would dare even use the words wipe out an entire [2:52] civilization i think many people not only in our country but all across the world are so deeply [2:59] concerned and offended by that language that it is the right thing to do to be to be talking about it [3:05] so we didn't mention but you also uh retired or resigned from congress uh and and you're not an active [3:11] congresswoman right now um i've read you know in doing a lot of reading for this interview [3:16] you know a lot of people are trying to figure out apart from what you say now and what you've said [3:21] what is at the at the heart of your um gripe is the wrong way but your disagreement with president [3:27] trump right now and one uh analyst or you know a political analyst said you seem to have recognized [3:34] that the president has broken faith with his own followers do you think that you are seeing something [3:41] bigger than just what we're talking about right now because you have been such a prominent member of [3:47] the maga the first you know america first movement is there something bigger going on than just these [3:53] um you know these these quotes and these these things that he puts out in public i'm not sure i [4:02] believe in accountability and that's why i'm so outspoken um many people especially in other countries [4:08] may not know my time in congress i spent calling out republicans just as frequently as i did democrats [4:15] i believe it's incredibly important to follow through on the promises that elected leaders make [4:20] to the people that elect them after all that's who they work for not special interests or any anyone [4:26] else but as far as president trump is concerned i'm not sure exactly what is going on with him but [4:33] i've been calling for people in his cabinet the administration and republicans uh to to engage in [4:40] these conversations because this is extremely concerning this is the president of the united states [4:46] who is waging an extremely uh concerning war in iran that seems to be escalating uh the united states is [4:55] also our our ally is israel we are also funding um them with weapons as they declare war and wage war [5:02] on lebanon and have killed many innocent people in gaza so i i myself as an american um not just a former [5:10] member of congress i think it's important to speak out on this and call for accountability accountability [5:16] not for only the current uh direction that the president is going in but also accountability to [5:21] the promises he made the american people in 2024 which were no foreign wars america first that [5:28] that's the kind of thing right yes yeah um yes no more no more foreign wars america first and also [5:34] i think on the epstein files it wasn't didn't the president say or during the campaign that they [5:39] were going to release all the uh all the evidence all the all the files yes and that was talked about [5:47] for years not only by the president but it was basically a blanket um campaign promise for republicans [5:54] overall and so that should have never been a fight that that i had to have with president trump it should [6:00] have been the easiest thing in the world but instead it was the biggest fight that led to him calling [6:05] me a traitor and ultimately led to me resigning refusing to serve under a president that that publicly [6:12] pledged to destroy me i thought that was incredibly unfair to my district um yeah no these these are [6:19] the things that that have many of us concerned and has caused a giant divide uh among the base of people [6:26] that supported president trump you know in terms of the opposition to the iran war you are not alone [6:32] amongst maga very prominent uh influencers and media figures such as tucker carlson and alex jones and [6:38] candace owens all quite controversial as you know um have also also been accused of supporting anti-semitic [6:47] tropes or platforming anti-semitic views so is that an issue are you comfortable with the company that [6:54] you keep even you know the for anti-foreign intervention wing of the maga movement also being [7:00] against israel and i mean what what do we have just recently some we had nick fuentes who had been you [7:07] know talked to by tucker carlson saying my problem is that you know trump isn't hitler enough you know [7:12] i mean i'm sure he was uh you know trying to make a different point but yeah i don't i don't answer [7:21] for other people what i can tell you in my opinion is it's not anti-semitic to be against the secular [7:27] government of israel and their wars that's not anti-semitism that's being anti-war i've got a strong [7:35] history of being anti-war not just the war in iran or against israel's uh basically genocide in gaza [7:43] and what they're doing in lebanon now i was also against u.s funding of ukraine and my voting record [7:49] shows that um so i think what you're what you're talking about when you bring up tucker and candace and [7:55] alex jones and others we're speaking out just like many americans are that we're tired of the united [8:02] states and and our tax dollars having to fund these wars and we're tired of seeing our military [8:08] serve in these wars in foreign countries because many of them are our friends and our family members [8:14] and they come home forever changed with ptsd or in a flag draped coffin and we're we're against that [8:21] that's not anti-semitic or hateful towards any people group that's literally saying that we're tired [8:28] of america fighting uh different countries wars on their on their behalf and that's what's happening [8:34] in iran tell me something then finally do you regret supporting trump for president and where do you [8:41] think the movement and the country is headed and will you position yourself to try to take you know [8:48] at least the republican side back to what you believe to be the america first principles i don't regret [8:56] what i campaigned on because nothing about me has changed and in 2024 when i helped president trump [9:03] get elected uh he was pretty clear on what we were campaigning on what i don't support is the man that [9:11] he's turning in to be a man that is hell-bent on war and destruction uh has forgotten about the american [9:18] people that are struggling so much economically and and has basically gotten incredibly focused on his [9:26] biggest donors and their top issues that's what i'm against going forward i'm looking past donald trump [9:33] i'm looking towards a future that is focused on my children's generation they're all in their 20s [9:38] and i think that's the generation that we should be fighting for and that's the generation that's been [9:43] largely failed so i will continue to be vocal because we have to look towards the future and and how [9:49] to solve those problems for the american people um and and so that's where my focus lies marjorie taylor green [9:57] former congresswoman thank you very much for being with us
