Monster Truck Diecast News Weekly — S2 E40

[00:00:00] Speaker 1: ladies and gentlemen boys and girls welcome back to weston racing and welcome back to another episode of monster truck diecast news weekly uh this week's episode is going to be a short one for headlines like we really don't have that many to talk about however don't let that discourage you because all of our diecast headlines today are actually pretty substantial we got some very awesome reveals here and just in case that you think you've seen everything that i'm going to talk about today's video we have three items in the sneak peek section of today's video that i can guarantee zero of you watching this right now have seen these trucks and i can also guarantee i think you guys are going to like all three of them none of them are independent trucks they're all spin master but like i said they're actually really cool i am super excited for all three of these so without further ado we're going to go ahead and jump into it at the end of the video i have some things that i want to talk about with my youtube channel and diecast news weekly in general if you don't care about any of that i'm just letting you all know that i'm putting that at the end of the video so if you do care stick around if you don't you can leave and whatever because i know some people like to stick around for the diecast stuff and then leave afterwards which is fine i don't care watch however much of the video you need to watch that it's not any of my business anyways let's go ahead and jump into the hot drops where we take a look at all the stuff that is coming out and we have one major one for this week the newest set of 124s has hit the united states as you can see here and yeah post-production no 25th anniversary logo was added to el toro loco they didn't change the body at no 15th anniversary logo was added to son of a digger so aside from the fact that we have a blue bodied son of a digger for the first time ever this set has absolutely nothing going on blue body son of a digger that is it that is the only thing substantial about this whole set of trucks everything else is ignorable uh very very disappointing set of 124s absolutely easily without a doubt one of the worst sets that they've dropped in a very long time this is terrible um here's the deal though uh this does take us one step closer to something massive as you all know based on the teaser slash a leak that we saw via walmart's website if all of that information turns out to be true the next set of 124s supposedly will contain new body el toro loco and dino spike or dino sorts dino sorts spike is getting the lego set sorts is getting the 124 so again if that leak ended up being true both of those trucks should be in the next set of 124 so literally we are at the point where we're just waiting for pictures and because like literally that is the next set of trucks so huge things on the way there that is going to be really exciting to see and that is your hot drop for the week let's go ahead and jump into the headlines where we take a look at all of the cool new stuff that's coming out we've only got five headlines for this week but like i said they're all kind of well aside from this first one housekeeping uh knock knock uh monster jam superstore's got some new items on it let's cover this real quick and then we'll get to our four headlines because like i said our four headlines are unironically pretty substantial uh starting off with the superstore items we have a brand new jcb digatron hat which honestly really cool i like it um i'm not exactly the biggest fan of like printed apparel like this but i'm willing to give a pass to this one because it honestly looks kind of neat but uh yeah there's the jcb digatron hat and then we have a monster jam pajama set pajama pajamas uh-huh um it is a long sleeve shirt with pants or if that's not quite your style they also have one that is a short sleeve with shorts here's the thing i didn't really check all that well i think these are for kids so unfortunately unless you fit into kid size clothing uh these probably aren't for my audience might be for the children of my audience which would technically be my audience because my highest viewership on my channel is adult women age 30 to 40 which i would imagine is mothers who are giving their accounts to children if i had to take a guess either that or it's monster jam moms watching to keep an eye on all the new stuff which if that's the case how you guys doing hope you enjoy the videos uh regardless of which group you are um as for all of the uh teenagers and young adults that watch these videos because you're collectors loser all right let's move on to the next set here with um our next headline which is the revel monster jam model trucks so this is really fascinating before you get your hopes up no these are not new buildable model cars for monster jam they're actually re-releases of the previous ones all we have a picture of right now is max d and as you can see aside from the box being different it is the same it is literally the exact same one that the previous one was re-release one-to-one exactly the same and as you can see it is a build and play it is a level one model kit so literally this is you literally just snap the pieces together and it's ready to go no glue no stickers no paint it's just simple there is a gravedigger one as well however we don't have a picture of the gravedigger one there there is a gravedigger one for sure but there's not a picture and i don't know why but yeah these are uh coming out i would imagine keep your eyes out on hobby lobby for this one and weirdly enough okay this is something i want to point out here i had to go to the european version of revels or revel yeah revels website i had to go to the european version of revels website in order to find these photos if you look for them on the u.s version it won't show them to you so i'm wondering if these are maybe not actually coming to the united states because like i said you go to google these or look at them on revels website from you from the united states and they won't let you see them but the moment you pretend that you're over in the uk all of a sudden you can see them it's really weird but yeah there's the models right there i need to pick those up i actually have the old revel gravedigger not the newer one with the bkt tires the original with the ukraine tires and that one is falling apart and collecting dust so i would like a new model kit gravedigger that would be pretty cool all righty on to our next headline i apologize for calling you guys losers all right but just so you're aware i am also a young adult collector so i also called myself a loser i've had a serious relapse in my judgment all right here lapse what do you say lapse in my judgment that's what logan paul said jake paul whatever which one it was okay next headline we have the ku trading cards with monster jam we have even more information and i'm sure you guys are tired of me talking about this but like i said we actually have a substantial amount of new information i don't know what why what mood i'm in currently but it's a lot more positive than i usually am when i'm making these videos i guess i'm excited i don't know here we go so we have some new information here number one obviously the new york comic con took place this last weekend and we had the official reveal of the trading cards we have actual physical tangible trading cards that we can see with our own eyes now as well as the reveal of a couple other things as well not only that we also got the reveal of the different rarity types that come with the cards and that aspect is really confusing so i think what we're going to do is we're going to start with the actual physical cards and then we'll look at the rarity types to kind of break it down so via the source at the bottom of the screen this guy actually went and got photos from the new york comic con which thank you sir if only we could have had somebody like you for the new york toy fair this year that would have been wonderful um so here we go here are the physical cards and as you can see you're gonna have to uh man this photo is a lot blurry oh never mind my my phone wasn't working okay so as you can see you guys are gonna have to really zoom in here or really get close to the screen to see what's going on i'm not gonna jump scare you don't worry a lesser youtuber would do that but i'm not going to um each row of this appears to be a different style of card and like i said we will break these down in a second but you can kind of get an idea of all the different types of cards that we got going on here and all the different trucks that are in here what you should know is that confirmed every single monster jam truck that that is actually currently running in monster jam or they have uh the rights to will be getting a trading card so even though it's not pictured here power rush junkyard dog trucks uh like that captain's curse will be getting cards eventually or could already have cards which is pretty cool but uh it is really nice to see here all of the cool trucks that are getting releases noticeably though i don't see jcb digatron which is really fascinating i also don't see bailey circuit either so oh never mind there's a digatron right up in the top corner i'm a moron um yeah it's cool i'm not gonna lie the art on these is also really neat they did half of them they did half of them in uh caricature art and then they did other ones using real life photos which is really cool i like the half half and half thing there so yeah there's that then we also got these now i was not actually there i don't know fully what these are i'm taking a guess i think the stuff on the top uh shelf here are card displays so if you have like a rare card you have a little display you can put it on pretty cool honestly these little pop-up displays are sick specifically the uh grave digger one is awesome the grave digger one is so cool uh i love that so much and then underneath we have what appears to be actual display boxes or like protectors for the cards as well i have heard rumors that ku trading cards or specifically the monster jam ones i don't know are bigger than your standard playing card which means like you know sleeves for like pokemon cards and stuff aren't big enough for these and if i'm not mistaken i think that way ku can sell custom binders for their cards which is scummy i'm not gonna lie i've been saying nothing but nice things about ku this whole time breaking the chain if that is true that is really scummy of them that they did not make them standard size that is really annoying um so yeah there's that now let's go ahead and break down the rarities that we have here there is something really strange about this we're going to start with running heat so here are the running heat uh trading card rarities right here and as you can see there are as it stands right now 11 different types of cards in the running heat series starting off we'll just go in order we have se i don't know what's s what the different abbreviations are but from what i've heard se is supposed to stand for silver edition because the card has silver flames and silver trim on it with the truck's logo and artwork of the truck itself honestly kind of neat i like those that's fun then we have bp i don't know what that i really don't know what that stands for uh these ones feature front end pictures of the trucks with the uh uh mascot up at the top all these different things uh cr which is uh these ones seem to be focused on the actual mascots themselves which is really cool uh those could be fun mr i am not a hundred percent sure but i'm pretty sure all of the mr cards are all fire and ice themed which that's really cool the fact that we're actually getting like fire and ice card this was one thing i was really curious about is if we were going to get just the trucks or if we were going to get paint scheme versions as well and like i said from what i've heard mr is all fire and ice cards which is so cool i hope in like series two they do like a nitro neon set that would be six stars and stripes um retro that would be cool then we have lr which these are your actual real life pictures of the trucks which these ones i'm really excited to get as you can see you actually get like numbers of how many there are of each so for lr there are a total of 18 different cards in the lr series for ssr which i think is super super rare if i'm not mistaken you get these ice shatter cards which i'm not gonna lie might be unironically some of my favorites we've seen so far that make that megalodon and classroom crusher cards those look so cool i i love how those look sr which is super rare i do believe is just a standard truck on a card also all of in case you're wondering all of the cards actually have the letter of them on the top left corner so when you get them you can figure out which series they belong to and if you have all of them or not uh then there's ar 19 ar these are key chains or like ornaments these aren't even cards so i'm really confused at what that's all about i'm not 100 sure on that one you are which i think is ultra rare these ones also look sick i i'm a huge fan of how these ones look too then there's tr these ones are translucent i don't know like can you guys see that it's a truck a logo and then it's completely see-through i don't know if this is true or not but i think these aren't actually cards they're sleeves and you get photos of the real life truck and slide them inside it's like a display window for a photo as a plane car i don't know super interesting and then you have our these are the most common ones right here that are just pictures of the trucks with their logos okay gonna be dead honest i am so hyped i can't i cannot lie i am so hyped to collect these i cannot i immediately knowing that we have a technically a checklist of how many there are i already just give me some packs i want to start ripping cards and start looking and seeing what i can find here this is a lot of people hate these and aren't collecting these and are upset that these even exist i am the target audience of this i let me know if you guys agree i am so hyped for these i cannot lie they're gonna be i'm just waiting for them to be absolutely terrible and i get my hopes up for nothing okay moving over to battleground battleground yeah battleground whatever um so battleground in this picture as you're going to see right now only has eight different types of cards however you're going to notice six of them carry or four five of them carry over from the previous set what is unique to this set is we have uh the second one in the top row there zr these are just seemingly more like creature uh artwork ones that are just done in a different style also old el toro loco body that is really upsetting that they didn't bother upgrading updating el toro loco on any of this and then we have sr the super rare for the battleground ones now i don't know if you guys are noticing what i'm noticing here but if you look at the sr ones first off the black and white artwork is really cool that's sick but on the bottoms of the cards are stats remember how i theorized that battleground is an actual playing card game that might be it right there because if you notice the other exclusive series that we get is the n series 28 the actually the most common cards you can get are the n series and as you can see in the bottom there those also have stats on them as well i'm thinking the n series and the sr series for battleground are your actual playing cards whereas everything else is collectible however it does make me wonder though because this is what i thought was kind of weird so ssr in this set the 20 with the ice crackle and stuff has 20 types here and it also has 20 types over running heat are they the exact same because like it implies that it's all the exact same cards which means like for example cr here with the eight types are they even rare because if you can get them in two different sets of cards what's the point maybe it's the back of it maybe that's what it is maybe the running heats cards actually say running heat on the back and the battleground ones actually say battleground on the back maybe that's the difference i have no clue but anyways ladies and gentlemen i know that went went on for a pretty long time there was a lot to talk about there but that is the ku credit cards i think call it a bit of a crazy hail mary guess here i think that is the last time we will be talking about the ku cards on diecast news weekly until series two comes out obviously i'd be making an unboxing video if i get my hands on the cards that would be dumb of me to not do that but yeah there's that okie dokie we are now going to move on to our first actual diecast headline 170 second scale series 5 for spin master mod jam and i know what you're thinking didn't we literally cover this last week we did not so that eight pack that we looked at last week that had recreation and all those trucks in it that's not actually series 5 it is believed now that that's actually series 5 and series 6 smashed together because series 5 does not actually include neon son of a digger and recreation both of those trucks are not actually in series uh five but they are instead in that eight pack for some reason so here's what's actually in series five grave digger which i'm not even going to put a picture up of because you already know grave digger okay jambulance we know jambulance uh max contrast dragon classroom crusher and then i actually missed this guy last time crush cycle is in series five and yeah that is series five right there grave digger jambulance dragon classroom crusher and crush cycle that's the full set recreation and son of a digger neon i have no clue series six maybe they were early releases from series six i have no clue all i know is that these singles packs that you're seeing on screen are in dollar trees right now so keep your eyes out and uh yeah happy hunting on those this is uh i'm actually kind of uh excited to pick up a couple of these the crush cycle was a fun surprise that is a that is a fantasy truck that is i am a huge fan of so i'm kind of glad to see that there that's pretty cool actually i'm noticing a theme you got jambulance crush cycle and classroom crusher it's kind of like a trucks on duty actually come to think of it isn't that literally just 2025 crush cycle was in series 42 jambulance was series 43 classroom crusher was series 44. noticing something here all right there's that we have one final headline for today's video in the headlines and it is the walmart black friday monster jam collection pack has been revealed and ladies and gentlemen this was a thing that popped up on the canadian walmart website a couple days ago and let me tell you something last year's collection pack for walmart was a massive disappointment it was three stupidly common minis with six incredibly common monster trucks 164s the there were like six different versions of the multi-pack and all of them were lame all of them were just crap um literally just re-releasing trucks that nobody wants well monster jam or rather spin master seemingly learned their lesson because this year they're doing a seven pack with three minis and four 164s that i can guarantee everybody watching this video is going to want at least one truck in this pack i can't even hype this up further than that let me tell you this whatever you're picturing in your head right now if you haven't seen this guarantee to you it is infinitely better than that put the image on screen four galaxy 164s with three translucent minis what what this is this is insane this might be the single best thing they dropped they have dropped all year i mean that is so cool for the casual collectors you now have a way to pick up seven extremely hard to find trucks in one swoop that is so cool and for the hardcore collectors yeah they're new variants that you got to collect but again i've already seen people complaining it's gonna devalue the original galaxy trucks again if you are a real legitimate collector who actually cares about that about this hobby that is not a concern of yours because again a real legitimate collector would know this is not going to devalue the originals because that has never been how this has worked in the past again they say that with every single superstore truck re-release and yet again they're wrong every single time so yeah the galaxy trucks are here one thing that i am really interested to see is with the updated uh megalodon paint scheme the updated gravedigger paint scheme the updated gravedigger chassis there i am really curious to see what these galaxy trucks actually look like in person because i can guarantee they're going to look kind of different from their originals i am definitely expecting them to not be one-to-one re-releases as for the minis i noticed this and i was so happy about this we get three translucent minis here and it's actually one of every type of translucent translucent mini zombie is a sheer madness mini megalodon's a glass mini and gravedigger's a gemstone mini they literally gave you one of each type of translucent mini that's really cool all of which by the way are the og original minis which means they can still make the og original minis which means again sounding like a dead horse here like they can still make the normal minis why are they not still making the normal minis anyways either way at the end of the day walmart exclusive multi-pack coming for black friday this year for christmas oh my god unironically the best thing they've released all year that is crazy hilarious that the best thing they've released all year has nothing original in it but you know what i'm not even going to complain this is sick i am going to grab this the moment i see it this is so cool and i know most of you watching this are going to be picking this up as well that is so crazy how awesome that is but what if i told you that is not the coolest thing that we have in today's video ladies and gentlemen welcome to the sneak peeks where we take a look at items that have been revealed early and or leaks things like that i keep changing the meaning of this section every single time okay we have three 164 spidmaster trucks here today that we are about to take a look at and before you guys like get your guesses out no they aren't marvel trucks um they're not like recolors or just weird variants that we haven't seen i can tell you right now all three of these are pretty substantial and pretty cool and i know what you're thinking oh my god did you find series 49 no i found series 50. yeah let that marinate for a second i didn't find pictures of series 49 i found two trucks from series 50. that's funny isn't it yeah so the guy who i get pictures from in vietnam apparently he got some samples from the spin master factory of some trucks from series 50 which is really funny but yeah we have some trucks from series 50. so yeah basically the two trucks that you guys are about to look at are not in the next set of mainline trucks they're in the set after that which is really weird unless they swap them which i don't think they did but uh yeah so i'm going to test your guys's memory don't cheat don't look it up i want to test your guys's memory in the live chat or yeah in the live chat while watching this live okay what is the cyber flare truck from series 50 okay i'm going to count down and i'm going to put it on screen all right okay you got it let's put it in chat three two one el toro loco and i'm not gonna lie that is way better than i thought it was going to be actually not bad it's it's got the flare and it's got the cyber now i will admit kind of like sparkle smash i do feel like it's kind of cheap that the cyber aspect of this truck is just a laser grid they could have put more effort into it but at the end of the day appearance wise looking at just the body here not bad actually a lot better than i was expecting it to be i like the fact that the flames they like completely change the style of the flames and make it fit in with the body more that's pretty cool chassis not great the fact that they did zero horn printing also not great either but you know what body paint scheme wise pretty good i gotta admit pretty good i'm impressed okay so there's that also 25th anniversary logo for those who care um all right again series 50 what is the chase piece in series 50 the pixel punk chase piece well i'm gonna tell you this it's absolutely peak it is so cool but what was the truck three two one sparkle smash i'm not gonna lie i have been hating on the pixel punks all year long dalmatian was like the only one that i feel like was good in my opinion dalmatian doesn't even compare to this this turned out so good i can like and it's one of the very few the fantasy trucks that they've made this year where the hideously ugly chassis actually kind of fits the truck it doesn't take away from the truck but elephant in the room here the completely translucent plastic insert on the roof of the truck is awesome that looks so cool i wish it had glitter in it i can't lie i think that would have been really neat but like that is that's great like pixel punk sparkle smash i had a fear that it was going to be too similar to cyber flare sparkle smash i am so relieved to not only see that it is nothing like cyber flare sparkle smash but arguably way better than cyber flare sparkle smash this is awesome this looks great okay i've got one final truck that i'm going to show you here in the sneak peeks one more okay i don't know what series this is from it is not a mainline truck this could be either from the double packs which i think it is from the double packs which is a bit of a hail mary because it also could be from freestyle mania that is right it is a pickup truck version of a 3d truck that truck being one that has not appeared in freestyle mania yet it's not dalmatian not classroom crusher not bailey circuit not zombie not red primer grave digger and not stars and stripes jcb digatron it is a pickup truck version of tech deck wreck deck and not only is it a pickup truck version of tech deck wreck deck i would argue it's actually miles cooler than the real truck like this is what the real truck should have been are you guys ready to see this here we go three two one here it is again this is what the real life truck should have been imagine this on the real truck with the skateboard rim or the the bolted rims and then the skate like giant skateboards mounted on the back like big kahuna surfboards tell me that would not have been cooler than what they went with in real life again spin master saving the best for last this year because like cyber flare el toro loco is pretty cool pixel punk sparkle smash actually really solid this one of the best things they've made all gear that is so clean now here's why i don't think it's a freestyle mania release one it wouldn't make sense to be a freestyle mania releases tech deck wreck deck hasn't participated in freestyle mania but also you may remember and some of you who are uh a bit not more knowledgeable in this hobby like myself i don't mean that to gloat i'm saying like you spend way too much time analyzing this hobby like me some of you may remember that spin master had a tech deck wreck deck with the normal body that had the same tires as this so hear me out for a second here what if we got bakugan dragonoid as a two-pack 3d body pickup truck sparkle smash 3d body pickup truck and now tech deck wreck deck 3d body and pickup truck uh i don't know that's i think that's the best theory that i got right now as to what's going on here because we again we have this random tech deck wreck deck which spin master does not use customs in their stuff monster jam does spin master doesn't um so because this was an official spin master ad for wreck deck there is no way that's a custom that has to be a real variant and then we have this pickup truck version which i want to clarify all three of the trucks that we just looked at we know for a fact have to be actual trucks that are being released they are not customs because the source that these images came from is one the same person that we have gotten multiple images from in the past for example the wolverine with the monster jam rim inserts that was this guy and this guy also supplied the images of the uh the two packs from forever ago the uh you guys may remember when we got the first look at the jcb digatron two-pack the uh black widow avenger those initial images this is the same guy that had this photo um so old tech deck wreck deck here with the pickup truck this is a real thing this is 100 real and i think it's got to be in a two-pack that's the only thing that makes sense but anyways ladies and gentlemen that is all i've got for die cast news we have two headlines in real world action today that we're going to jump into real quick and they're not very substantial so we're going to run through them pretty quick here uh first one nasty boy has returned uh put the image on screen that is right at the tough no monster x tour after a three-year break nasty boy has made its return and it looks pretty much exactly the same as it did when it retired there so or was put on hiatus so yes the nasty boy truck is back all right let's go ahead and jump into our final headline for the video ladies and gentlemen you guys may remember a guy by the name of bailey curry who drove a shark attack nascar truck uh a little while back uh a little while back well he's doing it again except this time as you can see he's going to be driving a t-rex truck put the image on screen as you can see in this reveal photo right here bailey curly oh my god bailey curry is back behind the wheel of a monster truck wars themed nascar truck series truck this time t-rex themed uh i know what you guys are probably thinking why they why aren't they doing shark attack again well shark attack has been turned into scrap metal i am not kidding they literally ran shark attack for one race cut the thing up and sold the scrap and sold the fiberglass pieces online already the body is gone it has been destroyed and sold already so that's why they're doing this um be at t-rex i'm not gonna lie i've always hated the t-rex monster truck one i think it's extremely basic and two i also think it's extremely ugly however it did kind of translate well to a uh to a nascar body not gonna lie though not even remotely as good as shark attack the shark attack one was infinitely cooler than this and yes for those of you wondering there are die casts as you can see here in this extremely blurry photo that i pulled off of lionel racing's website so yeah there are die casts coming of this guy as well 164 and 124 again very cool that we're getting a die cast of this that is pretty awesome despite the fact that i am not a fan of this one as i was the other one still pretty cool yeah sorry with that being said i do really really hope that if this if this continues this partnership locomotive man come on make us all happy and do locomotive like that would be so cool anyways ladies and gentlemen that is all we got for die cast news this week like i said very short episode not a lot going on uh headlines wise now i do want to make some announcements here relating to the future of the series i am going to be continuing the youtube series as normal however um one major change that i'm making is that the actual social media pages so the instagram and facebook page for die cast news weekly they are going to become more what's the word automatic i guess where instead of me constantly like micromanaging the pages to make sure that the posts go up at certain times and get in the photos it is going to be much more streamlined so the uh posts should be going up all at the same time day by day kind of thing um they're no longer going to be shared to other facebook groups it's just going to be on that page so if you want to share it to a facebook group you got to do that yourself um mainly because of uh the fact that it's just way too tedious to have to do that because you can't auto share a post that you're scheduling so i'm like this this is stupid i'm not going to share my posts into mtc i get nothing by sharing them into mtc in the first place i'm not going to do that anymore if i can't automatically do it anyways like if every single facet of this is not worth my time i'm not doing it anymore so yeah there's that and then i also want to point out that we have a short form content that i'm going to be making i have a lot of short form content that i am going to be making in the near future because a lot of stuff that i used to have as facebook posts i have since deleted and i'm going to turn into youtube shorts instead uh facebook and instagram reels as well which if you want to see all of that make sure to follow weston racing on those three places and you will start to see those short form videos pop up they're going to be mainly focused on like die cast and stuff i want to do a series dedicated to cancel real life trucks cancel die cast trucks maybe just some other smaller die cast stuff like you know oh uh how to spot this type of chase p actually i'm not going to do that but something's kind of like the silver series hot wheels cars if you guys don't know the whole thing with that everybody thinks metal base equals chase piece in those when that has never been true and i don't know why everybody thinks that so yeah we'll get it figured out you guys will it'll just happen and you guys will understand i just wanted to clarify that so if you see me if you see me uh not physically on social media as much anymore and it just seems kind of robotic that's why um but yeah with that being said i hope you all enjoyed today's video thank you all for watching and i will see
