Trump gives speech at Georgia high school near Atlanta amid protests before midterm elections

[0:00] You look, on day one, President Trump hit the ground running. [0:04] He signed 16 executive orders. [0:07] He and Secretary Scott Besson implemented tariffs to even the playing field [0:12] and to create manufacturing jobs back in the U.S., and we're seeing that now. [0:17] Then President Trump and Speaker Johnson passed the big, beautiful bill. [0:23] I want you all to think about this. [0:25] They had a two-person majority. [0:26] How they pulled that off, I don't know, but it was because of President Trump's leadership. [0:30] We are now seeing the fruits of President Trump's hard work, [0:41] and that's why I'm so bullish and optimistic about our future. [0:46] It's our 250th birthday, and I've been going around the country speaking [0:50] and talking about American exceptionalism, American pride, American spirit, [0:56] and American success stories. [0:58] And we have an American success story right here in this room. [1:02] Where is Jeff Sprecher? [1:03] Jeff, stand up and let's give Jeff Sprecher a round of applause. [1:07] Jeff moved to Atlanta 35 years ago with $1,000, [1:17] and he had a dream to start a company called Intercontinental Exchange. [1:21] Now he owns 13 exchanges, very successful, very community-minded. [1:27] And by the way, he's got a great wife, Kelly Leffler, [1:29] who you'll hear from now who's running our SBA. [1:31] I want to tell one more success story from my home state in Louisiana where I grew up. [1:39] There was a guy that wrote a paper, [1:41] and he wanted to open up a restaurant serving one item. [1:44] He got a C-minus. [1:47] He then went to the bank and tried to get a $50,000 loan. [1:50] They wouldn't give him a loan. [1:51] So he went to Alaska for two years and worked on the fishing boats, [1:55] and he saved $50,000. [1:57] He now is the richest man in Louisiana. [2:00] He owns Raisin Cane's. [2:02] Folks, Jeff Sprecher and Todd Graves only happen in America. [2:07] This only happens in America, where you can pursue your America in a dream. [2:12] The next reason I'm so bullish on our country is look what we just did. [2:18] We hosted the FIFA World Cup, and it was a huge success. [2:22] And listen, people loved our air conditioning. [2:29] They loved our ranch dressing. [2:30] They loved Buc-ee's. [2:32] They loved Waffle House. [2:33] They loved this country. [2:35] We need to love this country. [2:37] Now the one big beautiful bill is kicking in. [2:51] No tax on tips. [2:52] No tax on overtime. [2:54] No tax on Social Security. [2:56] I got to tell you all a quick story. [2:57] I would go to restaurants, and I would write on my receipt, [3:01] no tax on tips, explanation to explanation. [3:03] And the waiters would say, what is that all about? [3:06] Well, after April 15th, I had a waiter come up to me and say, [3:09] Mr. Treasurer, I get it now. [3:11] I got $7,100 back on my taxes. [3:14] Thank you. [3:20] We've also had more than 50-plus record-setting days on Wall Street. [3:25] That's because of President Trump's policies. [3:28] And for the first time in history, the Dow hit $50,000, 50,000 points. [3:32] Listen, we're going to have a booming economy. [3:39] This will be a stark contrast between capitalism and communism. [3:43] And you need to look no further than New York City. [3:47] And I want to tell you something. [3:48] If you don't remember anything I said up here today, I want you to remember this. [3:53] Leadership matters, elections matter, and elections have consequences. [3:57] And I will tell you this. [4:04] President Trump may not be on the ballot, but his policies are and his folks are. [4:08] And we need to send winners to him so he can keep winning for you. [4:12] I want to close with this. [4:21] I was really fortunate to be on the campaign trail with President Trump. [4:25] And now I've worked for him for a year and a half. [4:27] And it didn't take me long to figure out this. [4:30] One, he works 24-7 for you. [4:36] President Trump loves our country. [4:40] He wants to beat China and Russia and everything. [4:42] He wants to win. [4:44] And he wants us all to win. [4:50] President Trump loves his family and he's very personable. [4:53] President Trump loves and respects law enforcement and the military. [5:02] But I want to tell you what President Trump really loves. [5:06] Capitalism. [5:11] He wants you, your kids, your grandkids to be able to pursue the American dream. [5:17] And President Trump realizes government doesn't create jobs. [5:20] The private sector does. [5:21] But what we can do as government is create a conducive environment through tariffs, low taxes, less regulation, provide an educated workforce, infrastructure investment, both roads and bridges, and 21st century infrastructure like AI, satellites, cable. [5:38] And if we do those things and get the heck out of the way, we will have a great economy. [5:51] In the end, I'm going to tell you, President Trump's going to have several legacies. [5:55] One, he secured the border. [5:57] He didn't just secure it. [5:58] He shut it down. [6:06] He also is going to make sure Iran never has a nuclear weapon to keep you safe. [6:22] What I want to tell you, one of the biggest legacies he's going to have is what we're talking about today, Trump accounts. [6:28] Trump accounts will invest in our kids, and our kids will be invested in our country. [6:34] Think about that. [6:36] We're going to invest in them. [6:37] They're going to be invested in us. [6:38] We're going to jumpstart their future. [6:40] They're going to learn financial literacy, investing and compounding interest in how the S&P 500 works. [8:38] So normally, when I come out on stage in a school, and I've been touring a lot of schools around the country as the Secretary of Education, [8:48] I talk about the fact that only 30% of our students can read and do math. [8:54] And we failed our students, and President Trump knows that. [8:57] But we're going to do something about it because we're going to bring education back to the states. [9:02] But today, I'm not here to make a speech about education. [9:13] It's an honor to be in the great state of Georgia to celebrate a momentous accelerator of opportunity for the next generation. [9:22] What you've already heard about today, and you're going to hear a lot more because it's so important, Trump accounts. [9:29] Thank you. [9:30] That does deserve an applause. [20:12] And what a welcome we are about to give President Donald J. Trump, who has never stopped fighting for the people of this great state. [20:27] Now, many of you may think the best part of my job as Secretary, Treasury Secretary, is getting calls from the President in the middle of the night. [20:35] And it's always the same question. [20:39] Scott, I didn't wake you, did I? [20:41] I said, no, sir. [20:43] I'm always up at 152 on Tuesdays. [20:45] But the best part of my job, the best part of my job is to get the chance to get out of Washington, to spend time with the amazing people of the United States. [20:56] And there are a few places where you see the strength of spirit in America more than here in Georgia. [21:09] You great Georgians don't believe the government creates jobs so much as clears the way for the people who do. [21:17] You believe that prosperity is built from the ground up, not imposed from the top down. [21:27] And that small businesses build stronger communities than big government ever could. [21:38] Cobb County, in short, is Trump country. [21:42] There's a reason why President Trump won more votes in Georgia than any other candidate in history. [23:19] Our economy has now averaged over 100,000 good-paying private sector jobs. [23:26] Let me repeat that. [23:28] Private sector jobs, not government jobs, for the last four months. [23:34] And real GDP has increased at a rate of 2.7% over the past four quarters. [23:41] Private sector employment is up more than 900,000 since the president came into office. [23:51] The working families' tax cuts delivered the largest share of tax relief directly to millions of low- and middle-income Americans. [24:01] And as Administrator LaFleur said, every Democrat in the Senate and House voted against it. [24:13] Here in Georgia, the tax cuts saved the average family more than $3,100 on their taxes this year and protected over 200,000 jobs. [24:25] Meanwhile, thanks to President Trump's policies, companies and countries have poured trillions of dollars in new investment into our country since President Trump took office. [24:43] More Americans are working than any time in our nation's history. [24:55] But of all this that President Trump has achieved, his most enduring legacy may be the reason we are here today. [25:03] Trump accounts represent the most successful program launched in government history, [25:09] with more than 6 million sign-ups even before it went live on July 4th. [25:14] Every child born during the president's term can get a stake in the American dream from day one [25:29] with a $1,000 seed investment from the U.S. Treasury. [25:33] And do not listen to the Democrats when they claim that this is a program for the rich. [25:39] 86% of enrolled children are from families earning less than $200,000. [25:46] Trump accounts are reaching the very people they were designed to serve. [25:59] Of course, for decades, the federal government demonstrated its ineptitude at building a product [26:05] that people wanted and delivering it at scale. [26:08] Obamacare gave us a website that collapsed the day it was launched. [26:17] And Obama's so-called My IRA, I'm the Treasury Secretary, I don't even remember that, [26:22] but savings accounts are now defunct, because they were such a failure, [26:29] although not before costing taxpayers tens of millions of dollars. [26:34] But under President Trump's leadership, we have designed and built a world-class platform. [26:40] Trump accounts enrolled a million children every single month between its announcement and launch. [26:47] No tech launch in history has seen those numbers. [26:50] Millions of American youth are now able to watch their investments, accounts compound in real time [26:57] from a couple of thousand dollars in kindergarten to an estimated half a million dollars by retirement age. [27:07] It turns out that the federal government was capable of implementing a great program, [27:21] but all we needed was a new president. [27:23] And importantly, Trump accounts are no government handout. [27:35] They are a child's first claim upon the American dream at a time when too many people are taught to doubt it. [27:43] Look around our campuses and classrooms today. [27:46] Apart from those here at Wheeler, of course, [27:48] you will find that our students are being sold the seductive lie [27:52] that government can solve every problem, redistribute every dollar, [27:57] and supplant its judgment for our own. [28:00] Our children are taught to romanticize an ideology that results in ruin wherever it is tested, [28:08] to critique capitalism for every one of its flaws, [28:11] and to forgive socialism for every one of its constant failures. [28:17] In New York, the current mayor rose to power by repackaging failed ideals of the past [28:24] as a moral cause of the future. [28:26] But in Georgia, you know that beneath that youthful veneer lies the oldest impulse in politics, [28:33] which is to concentrate power and then call it compassion. [28:38] Show me someplace where this has ever worked. [28:41] Moscow, Caracas, Havana. [28:44] These workers' paradises have all ended up as deprivation hellscapes. [28:51] So at their core, Trump accounts represent the triumph of capitalism over socialism. [28:59] And now our answer to the next big, and now our answer to the next free-stuff big government charlatan [29:16] is to build an ownership economy for all Americans. [29:20] For the 38% of households who do not have a stake in our great equity markets or capital markets [29:29] and American innovation, this is your way to get a piece of the action thanks to President Trump. [29:35] It is to counter the rising tide of freedom-strangling socialism by creating a new generation of shareholders. [29:49] And it is to remember that the surest defense of a free society is the citizen who owns the share of it. [29:57] So the full reach of this presidency will ripple across generations to come thanks to policies like Trump accounts. [30:04] But my own sense of his place in history is already clear. [1:21:23] If I didn't earn, if I was two votes short, [1:21:26] if they would say, he's lying, he's lying, they are sick individuals. [1:21:31] They're the fake news. [1:21:32] But I have to be careful. [1:21:34] No, we weren't. [1:21:34] We had more votes than any candidate in the history of this great state. [1:21:39] And I'm very proud. [1:21:40] I love Georgia. [1:21:40] I've always loved it. [1:21:41] And every day since I've been fighting for the people of Georgia, [1:21:48] like no president has ever fought before. [1:21:51] And you're doing well until we're going to keep it that way. [1:21:55] And 18 months ago, you were in trouble. [1:21:58] Our country was in trouble, frankly. [1:22:00] It was a catastrophe what was happening. [1:22:02] Sleepy Joe Biden and the radical left Democrats. [1:22:06] They're Democrats. [1:22:07] D-U-M Democrats. [1:22:09] Created the worst inflation in 48 years. [1:22:13] Scott Besant, was it the worst inflation in 48? [1:22:16] Now, if Scott doesn't have credibility, nobody does, okay? [1:22:20] He said it's the worst. [1:22:21] And it was. [1:22:22] It was actually, I think it was beyond 48 years. [1:22:24] But 48 years is good enough. [1:22:27] Wide open borders with millions of people, [1:22:29] even from the world's worst prisons from all over the world. [1:22:32] They were pouring into our country. [1:22:35] All over the globe, they came. [1:22:36] Prisons and gang members, drug dealers, child predators, [1:22:40] and 11,888 murderers, many of whom committed more than one murder. [1:22:48] More than 50% committed more than one murder. [1:22:52] We had transgender for everybody. [1:22:55] Men and women's sports came ravaging through our cities. [1:22:58] And the whole world was laughing at us. [1:23:03] We were a joke all over the world. [1:23:05] But not anymore. [1:23:06] They're not laughing. [1:23:07] They're not laughing. [1:23:12] They're not laughing anymore, Jackson. [1:23:16] Huh? [1:23:17] Gonna be your next governor right here. [1:23:19] Two years ago, our country was dead. [1:23:28] And now we're the hottest country anywhere in the world, [1:23:30] respected by everybody all over the world, the hottest. [1:23:33] And we're respected like, I say we're respected maybe like never before. [1:23:41] When I took office, we inherited the worst border in U.S. history. [1:23:45] It was an open wound. [1:23:46] It was an open sieve. [1:23:49] We quickly turned it into the most secure border in the history of our country within two months. [1:23:58] And numbers were just released by the Democrats that in the past 14 months, [1:24:03] a historic record of zero illegal aliens have been admitted into the United States. [1:24:14] And now our crime numbers are among the lowest they've ever been. [1:24:18] It's plummeting downward. [1:24:19] Nobody's ever seen anything like it. [1:24:21] Nationwide crime has been the lowest numbers that we've had in many, many decades. [1:24:26] Last year, we achieved the largest drop in the murder rate ever recorded [1:24:31] to the lowest level in 125 years. [1:24:34] That's since 1900. [1:24:36] That's before my father was born. [1:24:37] Before my father was born, think of it, from the year 1900, lowest murder rate. [1:24:47] And that's despite the fact that we had millions of people poured into our country [1:24:51] who were, in many cases, very, very dangerous people. [1:24:54] We cut the flow of fentanyl across our border by 67%. [1:25:01] And drugs coming in by ocean, sea, by water, was cut 97%. [1:25:14] We're trying to figure out who the 3% are because they are among the bravest people anywhere in the world. [1:25:19] You've seen that. [1:25:21] They are the bravest people in history, I believe. [1:25:26] We're making the largest ever investment in the United States Armed Forces. [1:25:30] And we've got the strongest and most powerful military anywhere in the world by far. [1:25:35] There's nobody close. [1:25:36] And I built it during my first term. [1:25:42] I built our military. [1:25:44] And as you know, they stupidly gave a lot of it away. [1:25:47] But actually, it was a lot, but it was small compared to what we built. [1:25:52] But they gave a lot of it away to the Taliban, to Afghanistan. [1:25:56] They gave it away. [1:25:56] Just take it. [1:25:58] We're leaving. [1:25:58] Let's leave brand new machines behind. [1:26:01] Let's leave airplanes behind. [1:26:03] I said to them, well, why don't you just fly it out and we'll take it back? [1:26:07] Or we can even fly it back to the United States if you'd like. [1:26:10] Sure, I think it's cheaper to leave it. [1:26:13] Brand new planes. [1:26:14] It was so sad. [1:26:15] I saw what was happening. [1:26:17] What a disgusting thing took place. [1:26:20] But we then, as you know, we won Venezuela, which is now working with us to produce millions [1:26:27] and millions of barrels of oil. [1:26:29] We're getting along great with them one day. [1:26:32] And we've already paid for that operation many, many times over. [1:26:38] We're taking tremendous amounts of oil. [1:26:40] And they're taking tremendous amounts of oil. [1:27:00] And also Venezuela is doing better than they've ever done before, too. [1:27:04] The big oil companies are going in. [1:27:06] And they're signing up. [1:27:08] We have Chris Wright working on it. [1:27:10] Doug Burgum working on it. [1:27:12] Scott is working on them. [1:27:13] And it's been incredible, actually, what's got serious oil. [1:27:17] In fact, if you combine us and Venezuela, we have about 62% of the world's oil market. [1:27:24] So we don't need straits. [1:27:26] We don't need anything. [1:27:29] We don't need the Hormone Street, but we do it because we have to do it. [1:27:32] Because we cannot let Iran have a nuclear weapon. [1:27:35] It's very... [1:27:35] So we're likewise winning in the Islamic Republic of Iran. [1:27:48] And we're ensuring that they will never, ever be able to do to us what they've done to so many. [1:27:54] You know, they've killed 52,000-plus protesters. [1:27:59] People that were protesting have been killed. [1:28:02] 52,000 over the last four months. [1:28:04] Nobody wants to talk about the fake news back then. [1:28:06] Never mentions that. [1:28:07] And I just left Dover Air Force Base, which is an incredible place, but oftentimes very sad, [1:28:14] because that's when they bring the bodies of our great heroes, our great patriots, warriors. [1:28:21] They bring them back to Dover. [1:28:24] And I've been there many times before. [1:28:27] This was, in particular, something very sad. [1:28:29] I attended the dignified transfer ceremony for four great U.S. service members killed in the conflict with Iran. [1:28:39] So they returned to American soil at Dover. [1:28:44] And one of the families happened to be traveling to Georgia. [1:28:47] Beautiful family, beautiful wife and husband and brother-in-law. [1:28:54] And they said, I'm going to Georgia, too. [1:28:56] Where are you going? [1:28:58] She said, well, after this, sir, they lost their beautiful son. [1:29:01] We're going to Georgia. [1:29:02] I said, so if you want, I'll give you a ride on Air Force One. [1:29:05] And they said, wow, wow. [1:29:09] So today, I then said they're on Air Force One, and it's quite nice, I must say. [1:29:24] And they said, wow, this is something. [1:29:27] Thank you so much. [1:29:28] But they're heartbroken. [1:29:29] You know, they're heartbroken. [1:29:30] But they couldn't believe it. [1:29:32] And they live very close to here. [1:29:33] They live minutes away. [1:29:35] And we're here today. [1:29:38] And I said to them, celebrating the memory of their beautiful, this was a beautiful son. [1:29:43] You know, I read, when I go to Dover, I read charts on all of the young people. [1:29:50] And some are unbelievable. [1:29:52] Some are a little bit, you know, they got a little bit of a couple of little bad things [1:29:56] put in. [1:29:57] And this is a son who was like a flawless, perfect person. [1:30:01] Beautiful, beautiful son. [1:30:03] Handsome in every way. [1:30:06] Brilliant. [1:30:06] And respected by everybody. [1:36:16] Yamaha Motors is building its brand-new U.S. headquarters in Kennesaw. [1:36:21] And more money is being invested in the United States right now than at any time in the history [1:36:33] of our country, and Americans are working today more so than ever before. [1:36:39] We have more jobs today than we've ever had, and it's not even close. [1:36:43] More people are working now than at any time in the history of our country. [1:36:48] And the stock market has set, and that's with this skirmish we have going on. [1:37:02] I call it a skirmish. [1:37:04] This is with this skirmish we have with the Islamic Republic of Iran, and I call it that [1:37:10] because, let me tell you, they're getting hit so hard, and they want to make a deal. [1:37:15] But I say they're not ready to make a deal, because every time they make a deal, they want [1:37:22] to change it and everything. [1:37:24] They're not ready. [1:37:24] They'll be ready very soon. [1:37:27] And this is despite this. [1:37:29] It's going on. [1:37:29] The stock market has hit 73 all-time highs since the election. [1:37:34] Think of that. [1:37:35] And the typical Americans, 401k is up by $34,000, setting records day after day. [1:37:44] It's up by numbers that have never been seen before. [1:37:49] So your 401ks, they always say, oh, the stock market. [1:37:51] Stock market is very important. [1:37:54] But I have people coming up to me that have 401ks. [1:37:57] They said, you know, I was a disaster. [1:37:59] My family wouldn't talk to me. [1:38:01] They thought I was a total loser. [1:38:03] And now I'm like, the one guy said, I feel like Warren Buffett. [1:38:07] You know, the markets are right through the roof. [1:38:12] And it's a beautiful thing to watch, frankly. [1:38:14] It's beautiful. [1:38:15] It's brought families together. [1:38:18] I mean, I told the story about a policeman in New York City. [1:38:22] He said, my wife was really down on me, because the 401k was a disaster. [1:38:26] Was it moving? [1:38:27] And you get elected, and she thinks I'm the most brilliant financial mind in the world now. [1:38:33] She loves me much more than she did. [1:38:37] She's close. [1:38:38] But you should never love for that reason. [1:38:39] Remember that, please. [1:38:41] And while the stock market is skyrocketing way up, inflation is way down. [1:38:47] We're coming way down. [1:38:48] And last week, it was announced just last week that inflation dropped by the largest amount [1:38:56] in more than six years. [1:38:58] Because we're doing it right. [1:38:59] We're running the country properly. [1:39:01] And they tried to blame high prices on me. [1:39:06] So think of it. [1:39:07] When I inherited this thing on January 20th, we had the highest inflation in many, many years. [1:39:17] 48 years, they say. [1:39:18] I say, maybe ever. [1:39:20] This is what I inherited. [1:39:22] And when I had nothing to do, I walk into office. [1:39:27] I have a press conference first or second day. [1:39:29] And they're screaming at me, what are you going to do about high prices? [1:39:33] Right? [1:39:33] What are you going to do? [1:39:34] I said, I just got here. [1:39:35] What are we talking about? [1:39:36] Tell me. [1:39:37] Eggs, eggs have gone up four times. [1:39:40] Four times. [1:39:41] I said, I just got here. [1:39:43] Give me a break. [1:39:45] They did. [1:39:46] They hit me with the eggs then. [1:39:47] You remember that? [1:39:49] Kelly, you remember I got hit with the eggs. [1:39:53] First day. [1:39:55] First press conference. [1:39:56] Nice, friendly press conference. [1:39:57] You know they treat me so nicely. [1:39:59] What are you going to do about the prices? [1:40:02] And they said, they used the word first time I heard it. [1:40:05] It was a word, you know, made up by the Democrats. [1:40:08] Affordability. [1:40:09] They said, affordability. [1:40:11] I said, I've been here one day. [1:40:14] Don't worry. [1:40:15] I'll take care of it. [1:40:16] And we're taking care of it. [1:40:17] You know, we're taking good care of it. [1:40:19] They had the highest prices. [1:40:21] They had the highest prices, in fact, with the eggs. [1:40:26] You know, we have an Easter egg hunt like a few months after this. [1:40:30] And they said, don't order eggs, sir, because they're so expensive. [1:40:34] Use plastic eggs. [1:40:35] They wanted me to give the kids. [1:40:36] I said, nope, we're going to get it done. [1:40:37] And we did a great job. [1:40:39] Our secretary of agriculture did a great job. [1:40:42] And we got the price now of eggs is lower than it was when we started, right? [1:40:46] And many other things, too. [1:40:51] And oil will be coming. [1:40:52] It's going to be tumbling down. [1:40:53] It was three weeks ago. [1:40:55] They thought we had a deal. [1:40:56] I said, I don't think we have a deal with these guys. [1:40:58] They break every deal they make. [1:40:59] But I said, you know, but people thought the geniuses on Wall Street, they came down, really [1:41:03] down, and goes back up a little bit. [1:41:06] But it's going to come down maybe lower than when we even started. [1:41:10] But just give me a little time. [1:41:11] I always say, give me a little. [1:41:12] I said to the farmers, give me a little time. [1:41:14] And look how we're doing with the farmers, what's going on with the farms and everything. [1:41:19] This country is rocking and rolling. [1:41:20] So every day we're fighting to put more money back in the pockets of the hardworking American [1:41:30] families. [1:41:31] And that's why, with the help of our incredible Republican majorities in Congress, we've done [1:41:37] so much. [1:41:37] I proudly signed the great, big, beautiful bill delivering the largest tax cuts in American [1:41:43] history. [1:41:48] Largest in American history. [1:41:51] And we did big ones first. [1:41:53] You know, we had the best economy in history in my first term. [1:41:56] A lot of people don't because we had a COVID period all over the world. [1:42:00] And we did a great job where they got no credit for it. [1:42:03] We did Operation Warp Speed. [1:42:05] And I'll tell you, we did a great job, but we got very little credit for it. [1:42:07] We should have been given big credit, but we got credit for everything else. [1:42:11] And we had the best economy. [1:42:13] But this economy is ready to blow everything away, ever, of any country. [1:42:17] There's never been anything like what's happening in the United States of America right now. [1:42:21] So I just want you to remember that if you're paying a little bit more, a lot of it's come [1:42:31] down now. [1:42:31] We got it coming down very rapidly, actually. [1:42:34] Look at the number just released. [1:42:37] But it really was, you know, we inherited something from Biden and we're giving it back [1:42:42] to you, thousands and thousands of dollars, each family. [1:42:46] We gave it to you also. [1:42:47] Remember, forgetting about prices, and I don't want to forget about it. [1:42:51] I would never leave a sentence like that because they'll say, he said, forget about prices. [1:42:55] I said, despite anything you see, we gave you no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, no tax [1:43:03] on Social Security for our great season. [1:43:10] We gave you something that nobody ever thought of. [1:43:13] This was my idea. [1:43:14] I said, give people a deduction if they buy a car only that's made in America. [1:43:19] Give them a deduction. [1:43:20] They go out, borrow money. [1:43:21] They're allowed to get a deduction. [1:43:25] But this past filing season, 130,000 tipped workers right here in Georgia saved an average [1:43:31] of more than $7,000 on their taxes. [1:43:34] And that's because of no tax on tips. [1:43:42] You know, we're building a tremendous military facility at the White House. [1:43:45] It's a ballroom, but it's also a big military facility, a drone port on top and tremendous [1:43:51] things underneath. [1:43:52] And they've been working hard, a lot of overtime. [1:43:55] They work till 11 o'clock in the evening, almost every evening, 11, 11.30. [1:44:01] They get there at 6 o'clock in the morning. [1:44:02] They're really working. [1:44:03] And the other day, I went over to them and I said, gather together. [1:44:07] And I had, you know, hundreds of workers, very big thing. [1:44:10] It is beautiful. [1:44:11] It's going to be incredible. [1:44:13] It's an incredible project. [1:44:14] It's a contribution to the United States of America by very wealthy people and very wealthy [1:44:20] companies that only cost this country. [1:44:23] But what happened is I said to all the workers, it was a Sunday and they were working on a Sunday. [1:44:28] Maybe they shouldn't. [1:44:29] Maybe they should be in church. [1:44:30] I don't know. [1:44:30] I'll get them in trouble. [1:44:32] But they were working on Sunday. [1:44:33] And I said, remember this, no tax on overtime, all the overtime they're making. [1:44:40] And they gave me a big cheer. [1:44:42] No tax on overtime. [1:44:44] As an example, 700,000 Georgia workers saved an average of over $3,000 thanks to no tax on [1:44:54] over time and over time, and 500,000 Georgia seniors paid $0 on their Social Security benefits [1:45:01] thanks to no tax on Social Security. [1:45:08] But perhaps most consequential of all is the provision that the great, big, beautiful bill [1:45:13] that we're celebrating today. [1:45:15] It's something that's beautiful. [1:45:17] It's beautiful because it takes care of our youth. [1:45:19] It's called the Trump accounts and it's hot as a pistol. [1:45:24] It's hot as a pistol. [1:45:26] And under this groundbreaking new policy, every American child gets a tax-free investment savings [1:45:32] account that can grow over the course of their childhood and be used for them when they reach [1:45:37] 18 or 21. [1:45:38] Their parents, grandparents, employers, and loved ones can contribute up to $5,000 a year. [1:45:45] And with the modest contribution, these accounts will reach hundreds of thousands of dollars [1:45:51] for these young people by the time they get to, let's say, 18, let's say 21. [1:45:57] But by the time they're just young adults, they could be worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, [1:46:03] most likely will be. [1:46:04] And for decades, Washington politicians gave our children absolutely nothing but debt. [1:46:10] But the Trump accounts, we're finally seeing and ensuring that every young American gets [1:46:15] a great start in life and a really fair shot at the American dream, which is what we all [1:46:20] want. [1:46:21] They all aspire to that. [1:46:30] And under the system, every newborn child gets $1,000 deposited in their Trump account [1:46:36] at birth. [1:46:37] Think of that from the United States government. [1:46:40] Think of that. [1:46:42] The government is finally giving money back to our children. [1:47:18] And again, over 7 million. [1:47:20] And it really just started, I would say, Scott, a few weeks ago because it was all of the [1:47:26] very complex legal governmental things were worked out about three, four weeks ago. [1:47:32] And we have over 7 million people already, children already. [1:47:36] So that's great. [1:47:40] And I want to just tell you that generous individuals like Michael and Susan Dell, Brad Gerstner, [1:47:48] and so many others have donated billions of dollars to fund Trump accounts for millions [1:47:54] of children. [1:47:55] Some people are going to take and take the children from states, the entire state. [1:48:00] Like Gerstner is looking at the state of Indiana, where he contributes the money for, these [1:48:07] are wealthy people. [1:48:08] They've made a lot of money. [1:48:08] They're putting it back. [1:48:09] But Michael and Susan, they're two special, incredible people. [1:48:13] As an example, donated $6,250,000,000 into the accounts for youth. [1:48:20] They gave them for youth. [1:48:23] Michael Dell, Susan Dell, $6,250,000,000. [1:48:30] I have a friend who gave $50,000,000. [1:48:33] I said, that's peanuts. [1:48:33] That's not even close to the $250,000,000 that Michael Dell gave. [1:48:38] I said, what are you doing? [1:48:39] You can do better than that. [1:48:41] But people are loving it. [1:48:42] And you know what I say? [1:48:44] Go out and buy a Dell computer, okay? [1:48:46] Because as far as I'm concerned, that's great stuff. [1:48:51] And the Trump accounts app, for those that want, is now the number one app in all of America. [1:48:58] Isn't that nice for our youth? [1:48:59] People are doing it. [1:49:01] It just caught on. [1:49:02] In the past 18 days, nearly $1.5 billion have been deposited into the Trump accounts. [1:49:08] Think of that. [1:49:09] The money is pouring in. [1:49:11] And it's, again, it's for children and all sorts of advantages and tax advantages for the [1:49:16] people that do it and make this investment in our future. [2:01:54] What you're doing on the Trump accounts is for foster children will, you know, change lives. [2:01:59] I know because I said earlier that it changed my life when I got a $100 Christmas gift in an orphanage. [2:02:07] That's why here in Georgia we should not stop with $1,000. [2:02:10] I want to announce that when I become governor, I'm going to push the state of Georgia to match [2:02:16] the federal contribution with another $1,000. [2:02:20] And I believe our legislature will approve that. [2:02:35] If they don't, I will personally donate it myself. [2:02:45] Mr. President, you're fighting for Georgians every day for the state and what you're doing [2:02:50] to lower, actually lower costs. [2:03:02] Not long ago, I was meeting with Susie Wiles, who, in my opinion, is the best chief of staff [2:03:07] in the modern history. [2:03:09] But we were talking about America's antibiotics supply chain. [2:03:15] And I told her we bought this last American plant in the United States in 21 because I [2:03:20] didn't want China to leverage it on our president for trade. [2:03:24] I told Susie something that every family should know. [2:03:26] We produce one dose of amoxicillin for seven cents. [2:03:30] By the time it goes through all the middlemen, you pay a dollar. [2:03:34] Susie looked at me and said, well, have you heard about Trump Rx? [2:03:39] And I said, she said, we're announcing it tomorrow to sell directly to the manufacturer, [2:03:44] from the manufacturer to the consumer. [2:03:46] That's a business solution. [2:03:48] That really brings down costs. [2:03:50] When we bought this manufacturer of antibiotics, we wanted to change the name to U.S. Antibiotics, [2:04:00] which I thought was a good name. [2:04:03] So it took the Biden administration seven months to approve our bottle logo, where it [2:04:11] had been for the entire 35 years. [2:04:13] Then, last summer, we wanted to bring out for our kids amoxicillin extended release. [2:04:20] Under the Trump administration, we applied to have a new drug that hadn't been here in [2:04:25] 25 years. [2:04:26] Under his administration, it was approved in 60 days. [2:04:30] So, Mr. President, thanks for what you're doing. [2:04:42] I wish the fake news would report all these great business things that you're doing. [2:04:46] But that's what I'm going to be doing in Georgia. [2:04:48] I'm going to bring business solutions to solve real problems. [2:13:50] But I thought anybody would be better than this guy. [2:13:53] And he went from 70 to, believe it or not, 49.9. [2:13:59] And that meant he was now in a runoff. [2:14:01] So he thought he had it made. [2:14:03] And he was in a runoff. [2:14:06] And I got involved a little bit. [2:14:07] I came here twice. [2:14:08] I did a couple of rallies. [2:14:10] And she ended up winning the race. [2:14:12] He lost. [2:14:14] But I have to hand it to him because instead of being a congressman, he later on became [2:14:18] a senator. [2:14:18] If he was a congressman, he probably wouldn't have run. [2:14:20] Who knows? [2:14:21] I gave him a little credit for that. [2:14:23] But he was easy to beat. [2:14:25] He wasn't. [2:18:54] And it wasn't easy. [2:18:55] And I'm not going to bore you by saying I had to get other nations to approve it. [2:18:59] And I did threaten them with tariffs if they didn't approve it. [2:19:02] And I threatened the drug companies. [2:19:04] I threatened everybody to get this done. [2:19:06] And no other president even tried because they said it was impossible to do. [2:19:10] But we're delivering the largest prescription drug price cuts in history by a difference of [2:19:16] 400, 500, and 600 percent reduction. [2:19:20] So for decades, Americans paid the highest price for prescription drugs anywhere in the [2:19:30] world. [2:19:30] We were the highest price anywhere in the world. [2:19:33] And now we're paying the lowest price anywhere in the world. [2:19:36] And that has a huge impact on your health care costs, really on everything. [2:19:42] I'm very proud of it. [2:19:44] Everybody said it couldn't be done. [2:19:45] No other president even tried it because you had to get the drug companies, which is tough, [2:19:50] but then you had to get the other nations to approve it, which is even tougher. [2:19:54] So all you have to do now is go to TrumpRx.gov and you're going to get drugs for prices that [2:19:58] you never believed. [2:19:59] I mean, prices where they're 80 percent, 70 percent, 60 percent, 90 percent in one case [2:20:05] I saw, lower. [2:20:07] So go there and just get your drugs and at a minimum price them out and go to your store [2:20:12] and see if they can match it. [2:20:13] But I don't think anybody's going to match them. [2:20:15] It's been amazing. [2:20:16] Think of it, we went from the highest price one year ago, the highest price drugs anywhere [2:20:21] in the world, like the fat drug. [2:20:24] It cost, think of it, think of it. [2:20:31] It cost $1,400 in New York and in London it was $87. [2:20:39] Okay, I told you, I have a friend of mine, he's fat, you've never seen a guy like this. [2:20:44] He's a very smart guy. [2:20:46] Scott knows him very well. [2:20:47] He's a great businessman, but highly neurotic, always eating. [2:20:51] Eating, he does two things. [2:20:54] He eats and he makes deals. [2:20:57] And the eating he's not good at, other than quantity. [2:21:00] But the making, the making deals, he's very good. [2:21:03] But he called me out because, you know, I buy this fat drug and now he calls me Mr. [2:21:09] He used to call me Donnie. [2:21:10] Donnie, I buy this fat drug and in New York I pay $1,400. [2:21:15] And in London I just paid $87. [2:21:19] I said, you're so rich, how do you even know? [2:21:21] He said, I don't know, my people told me that.
