[16:18] The government is accusing Senate Sergeant at Arms Mau Aplasca of firing a warning shot [16:24] after state agents attempted to cross from the government system insurance building to the Senate premises. [16:30] Palace Press Officer Claire Castro says this led to NBI personnel firing back. [16:37] Authorities reported no injuries from that exchange of fire. [16:40] Puntong ito, gusto nating linawin. [17:43] At dahil doon, napilitan ding magpaputok ng warning shot ang NBI agent. [17:52] In time, police have in custody a suspect in the Senate shooting incident overnight. [17:56] Authorities say the person previously identified as a driver of the National Bureau of Investigation was arrested carrying spent and live ammunition. [18:05] Police, however, are still investigating the suspect if he is indeed employed by the NBI. [18:11] Early Thursday, a woman who claimed to be the wife of an NBI volunteer sought entry to the Senate amid reports her spouse was being held inside premises. [18:21] NBI Director Melvin Matibag has repeatedly denied involvement of his personnel in the incident. [18:28] Wala po kaming ahenteng dineploy sa Senado at imposible rin naman po na may makapasok doon dahil nakalakda nga po yan. [18:37] Ang usaang nagbabantay dyan may blue guards, may security at sa pagkakalam po may mga pumasok pa pong marine. [18:44] So hindi naman po yata kapagipaniwala na makakapasok doon yung mga NBI agent. [18:51] Fanning speculations of state agents' involvement was Senator Amy Marcos, an ally of Senator Ronald De La Rosa. [18:58] She alleged a confidential agent of the NBI was arrested inside the Senate and blamed for the agency or blamed the agency for the incident. [19:08] Even the military is denying a role in the gunfire. [19:11] General Romeo Bronner Jr., chief of the armed forces, said it was Senate security and not the Marines who opened fire. [19:21] Amid the chaos at the Senate, the House of Representatives transmitted to the upper house Wednesday night [19:28] the articles of impeachment against Vice President Sara Duterte. [19:32] The documents arrived at the Senate past 7 p.m., just moments before gunshots were heard in the upper chamber. [19:39] The articles of impeachment were delivered by House Secretary General Celoy Garafil [19:43] and House Sergeant at Arms Ferdinand Melchor de la Cruz. [19:48] In an overwhelming vote on Tuesday, the House supported the impeachment complaints against Duterte [19:53] for alleged misuse of confidential funds, unexplained wealth, and grave threats against President Marcos.
