JUST IN: Trump on if Xi will provide ‘military equipment’ to Iran

[0:00] All right, we continue my interview with President Trump for the full hour. [0:04] Now, of course, this was right after his all-important meeting with President Xi as we continue our interview. [0:11] Let me go to the issue of trade, tariffs, intellectual property theft. [0:17] I'm sure, especially with all those big business people you brought in, those are big. [0:22] Any progress you can report? [0:24] Yeah, I mean, it is progress. [0:25] But I also tell people that, you know, I was on an interview with a very bad, you know, stupid reporter. [0:32] She works for CBS. [0:33] You saw that 60 Minutes. [0:34] Stupid person. [0:36] Just an average person. [0:37] You could take anybody off the street and it'd be as good as she is. [0:40] You know, just very average. [0:42] And she asked me a question. [0:44] She's talked about China and this and that. [0:48] They steal this and they steal that. [0:51] I said, yeah, we do it to them, too. [0:54] You know, they spy on us. [0:56] They said, we spy on them, too, I guess, you know. [0:58] So some people thought that was cute. [1:00] Other people said, you don't have to say that. [1:03] I said, I sort of do. [1:05] No, we have, we do things and they do things and that's the way it is. [1:10] Now, with that being said, I spoke to him very strongly about that and I'd like to see it taken care of. [1:18] But they've been doing that for 50 years. [1:22] You know, we see a change with, in other words, will there be an improvement with trade? [1:27] Fentanyl is way down coming into the country for two reasons. [1:30] The border's strong. [1:30] But it's also down because they're sending less. [1:33] You know, we taxed them. [1:34] I gave them a 20% tariff. [1:36] And because of fentanyl, it was like a, it's like a penalty. [1:41] Nobody ever did that. [1:42] You didn't know that, probably. [1:43] I gave them a 20% tariff because they're sending fentanyl. [1:48] It's a huge amount of money. [1:50] I actually said, you know, the tariff is costing you $200 billion. [1:53] And you make $200 billion, much less, a small percentage from the sale, I think, from the [2:03] sale of the fentanyl. [2:04] And so fentanyl is used for a lot of different reasons. [2:08] But the bad reason probably outweighs the good. [2:11] You know, fentanyl is used for a lot of you. [2:14] Go into fentanyl. [2:15] It's used for a lot of different things, including operations, et cetera, et cetera. [2:20] But it's been a disaster. [2:24] But as you know, I put on a charge of 20% of tariff of 20%. [2:29] Nobody else would do that. [2:33] And we do well with China. [2:35] And I think we'll both do well. [2:37] These people really, what I'd like to see, I'd like to see. [2:40] China doesn't open the country. [2:42] It's massive. [2:42] It's a massive. [2:43] It would be unbelievable for our companies if they opened it. [2:46] And I think it would be good for China, too. [2:48] Any indication they will open? [2:50] Well, they're going to open some of it, yeah. [2:52] They open it in stages. [2:53] I'd like to just see them open it. [2:55] But, you know, they guard their country. [2:57] And he cherishes his country. [2:59] He wants to take, you know, he wants China to be, you know. [3:03] What does he want from you? [3:05] What does he want? [3:05] Magi is the greatest phrase of all time. [3:06] What does he want from us? [3:07] They have a similar. [3:08] What does he want from the U.S.? [3:10] A lot of things. [3:14] We talked about a lot of things. [3:15] Too many things to discuss. [3:17] But a lot of things. [3:18] We had a very good meeting. [3:19] But we want things from them. [3:22] One thing he agreed to today is going to order 200 jets. [3:26] That's a big thing. [3:27] Boeing. [3:27] Boeing. [3:28] 200 big ones. [3:30] That's a lot of jobs. [3:31] That's a lot. [3:32] Boeing wanted 150. [3:33] He got 200. [3:37] He said, sort of, I think it was a commitment. [3:40] I mean, you know, sort of like a statement. [3:41] But I think it was a commitment. [3:43] It's a great thing. [3:44] That's a lot of jobs. [3:45] Boeing's doing a good job. [3:47] They're catching up. [3:49] They're catching up. [3:50] The requests were a lot. [3:53] And our requests were a lot. [3:55] We requested for a lot. [3:57] We have Visa, which is not allowed to trade. [3:59] And they were there. [4:00] It was a big company. [4:01] And other companies are allowed to trade. [4:03] And I said, what about letting Visa? [4:07] We had the head of Visa there today, by the way. [4:09] Visa's a big deal. [4:10] I said, what about using Visa in China? [4:13] For some reason, they were blackballed. [4:16] And maybe that'll come off. [4:18] So we had a lot of, you know, we were in there for a few hours, right? [4:21] Long time. [4:22] Do you think you made progress? [4:24] Did you feel like that the give and take? [4:28] For example, you're not going to sign this big agreement after ours meeting. [4:32] But do you feel the foundation was laid for great success? [4:37] Better than last time. [4:38] You know, last time we signed like 36 deals. [4:41] This time, it's much bigger than that. [4:44] Talked about soybeans for our farmers. [4:48] They're going to do a lot of soybeans for our farmers. [4:50] They're going to be buying a lot of our farm product, which is great. [4:56] You know, they have an unlimited appetite, as the expression goes. [4:59] They can buy as much as when you have that many people. [5:03] They need it. [5:04] And we have the best product. [5:05] We're the best, certainly the best of everything. [5:08] And they'll be doing that. [5:09] Like, very farmer to me is very, you know, I must have gotten 95% of the farm vote. [5:14] And by the way, we just signed the farm bill. [5:16] We just approved the farm bill in Congress, which a lot of people thought was not going to happen. [5:21] You know, the Democrats are against farmers. [5:23] You believe it? [5:23] I said, how can they be against? [5:25] Add that to the men and women's sports. [5:28] The Democrats are against farmers. [5:31] Can you believe it? [5:32] So, anyway, they're defective. [5:35] I came up with a new name. [5:37] I don't know if I should. [5:38] I know which one it is. [5:40] Democrats. [5:41] Because they're dumb. [5:42] They're dumb. [5:44] It's D-U-M. [5:45] I got rid of the B. [5:46] So, you're only changing one letter, right? [5:48] E goes and the U comes. [5:50] It's a Democrat. [5:51] You know you take up more space in people's heads than any one person on the face of this earth, right? [5:55] You live rent-free. [5:56] I was talking about a guy, Hakeem Jeffries. [5:59] He's a very low-IQ individual. [6:01] And I talked about him. [6:02] I said, he's a dumb guy. [6:03] He's a Democrat. [6:04] And I said, oh, what a great name. [6:06] Let me ask you this. [6:08] The issue, and you've been asked about it, and you've spoken about it, and that is China's support of Iran. [6:16] How big a discussion was that today? [6:18] We discussed it. [6:20] I mean, when you say support, they're not fighting a war with us or anything. [6:25] No. [6:26] He said he's not going to give military equipment. [6:28] That's a big statement. [6:29] He said that today. [6:30] That's a big statement. [6:32] He said that strongly. [6:33] But at the same time, he said, you know, they buy a lot of their oil there, and they'd like to keep doing that. [6:38] He'd like to see Hormos straight opened. [6:41] I said, well, we didn't stop it. [6:42] They did it. [6:42] Then we stopped them. [6:43] You know, sort of interesting. [6:45] He joked. [6:46] He said, you know, sort of if they stopped it, then you stop them. [6:50] But they'd like to see it opened. [6:52] But they actually closed it. [6:53] He didn't like the fact that they're charging tolls. [6:56] I don't know if they are or not. [6:58] I don't know who would pay them. [6:59] I mean, where do they put the money? [7:00] The country's decimated. [7:02] You know, they're charging tolls. [7:03] Where's the money going? [7:05] Do you think President Xi and China have the ability to influence the Iranians, considering they are one of their biggest customers? [7:14] Probably, but look, he's not coming in with guns. [7:21] He's not coming in with rifles. [7:22] They're not coming in shooting. [7:24] You know, somebody said he's been very good. [7:27] They get a lot of their oil, 40 percent of their oil from that location. [7:33] So what has happened, and one thing I think that we're going to make a deal on, they've agreed they want to buy oil from the United States. [7:39] They're going to go to Texas. [7:41] We're going to start sending Chinese ships to Texas and to Louisiana and to Alaska. [7:46] And I think that was another thing that was agreed to. [7:49] That's a big thing. [7:50] What about liquefied natural gas? [7:51] We want that much longer. [7:52] Gas, too? [7:53] Yeah, everything. [7:55] Energy. [7:55] Energy. [7:55] That's the one thing. [7:56] They really need energy. [7:58] That's the one thing. [7:59] They have an insatiable appetite for energy. [8:02] And we have unlimited energy. [8:05] You know, we've now under me, but we now produce more than if you combine Saudi Arabia. [8:12] And before the war, if you took Saudi Arabia, Russia, put them together, we're doing twice as much oil and gas as they are. [8:20] Think of that. [8:21] It's amazing. [8:22] And that was called drill, baby drill, right? [8:26] Oh, well, I mean, when you really think about it, if they have a problem with Iran and they need the strait more than we need it open. [8:35] We don't need it at all. [8:36] We don't need it at all. [8:37] We don't need it at all. [8:38] Fair enough. [8:39] Well, I mean, you could make the case, you know, like, why are we even, we're doing it to help Israel and to help Saudi Arabia and to help Qatar and UAE and, you know, Kuwait and other countries. [8:54] Bahrain. [8:54] I mean, it also helps China. [8:56] I told him today, I said, you know, we're helping you and we're helping you in another way because I don't think they want, I don't think China wants Iran to have a nuclear weapon either. [9:06] I said, they're stone cold crazy. [9:11] You don't need them having a nuclear weapon either. [9:13] What did he say? [9:13] What did he say? [9:15] Well, he's not going to respond too much. [9:16] He's a pretty cool guy. [9:18] He's not going to say, oh, gee, that's a good point. [9:20] I think he might. [9:20] You know, what's he going to do? [9:21] What a wonderful point. [9:23] You think he agreed. [9:24] Yeah, I think. [9:25] That was the impression. [9:26] I don't think he wants them to have. [9:27] No, he would like to see it end, but he's been good about it, you know. [9:34] Hasn't done anything hostile. [9:35] They get discounted oil from Iran. [9:38] Here's a thought, because if you're going to expand trade and it's going to include benefits for our farmers and it's going to include manufacturing and all those, you know, top CEOs and executives that you brought into that meeting that they didn't expect. [9:51] But I would imagine that there probably is a deal to be had on the energy front, which would be great for our country. [9:59] So I told him, I'd love to see you buy oil from Texas and Louisiana, from the United States, Alaska. [10:07] We've got so much of it. [10:09] And he said he likes the idea. [10:11] He'd like to talk about that. [10:12] I think it'll happen. [10:13] Yeah. [10:14] That's a big deal. [10:15] That's a big deal. [10:15] I don't know. [10:16] That's a huge announcement. [10:18] Look, they're doing it right now. [10:19] They're sending Chinese ships up to buy oil. [10:21] They do. [10:21] So we're doing, you know, and I don't like talking about it because then the fake news media says, oh, you know, Trump doesn't talk about the fact that somebody's paying two and a half from, you know, I had it down to 185 in Iowa a gallon. [10:37] So now it's $4 and it's going to not be long. [10:41] And as soon as the war ends, it's going to go down to lower than it was before. [10:44] It's going to be very quick. [10:45] And, you know, when I explain it to people, all you have to do is say, do you think Iran, they're crazy, should have a nuclear weapon? [10:55] Everybody says no. [10:56] I said, well, then you think I'm doing the right thing. [10:59] And I have no choice. [11:01] The sad thing is that we've just broken every record on the stock market, as you know. [11:05] I thought the market would go down 20, 25 points. [11:08] It didn't. [11:09] It's higher now than it was before we started. [11:12] All right. [11:13] If you want to. [11:13] But is that amazing? [11:15] It is amazing. [11:16] And, you know, I know people around you told you oil prices would go up. [11:21] Okay. [11:21] I had a conversation with you and I asked you if I could bring this up. [11:25] And I said, Mr. President, if you wanted to knock out Iran's economy, you could probably do it in under an hour. [11:32] And you said to me, no, probably in five minutes. [11:36] Very little time. [11:37] That's what you said to me. [11:38] And then I asked you. [11:40] Well, we hit Cargill and everything but the oil. [11:42] That's very little. [11:43] We left that one little thing. [11:44] I said, stay 50 yards away. [11:46] And I said to General Raisin Cain, I said, General, how long will it take? [11:50] He said, four or five minutes. [11:52] I said, no, no, seriously, how long? [11:53] I figured he'd stay a day or two days, a week. [11:56] He said, no, only four or five minutes. [11:58] They wiped out the whole island, except they left the nozzle. [12:02] You know, that's where the oil comes out, just in case. [12:04] You know what? [12:05] That would end this conflict. [12:07] That would end this war. [12:07] Well, it would. [12:08] But then you said to me. [12:09] Then you'd lose a lot of oil. [12:12] And I don't know. [12:14] Look, right now, there's no oil coming out of Cargill. [12:17] None. [12:18] Zero. [12:19] They're going to cap those wells. [12:20] People are finding other places to buy oil, like Texas. [12:23] So I don't want to say we're making a fortune. [12:27] You understand that? [12:27] Because if I say, they're going to say, oh, he forgets about the little man, you know, with [12:31] the $4 gasoline. [12:32] You said the reason, I said, you said to me, this would wipe out their economy for over [12:38] a decade. [12:39] It's a population of over 90 million people that have been oppressed for 47 plus years. [12:45] Yeah. [12:45] And you said you didn't want to do that if you didn't have to. [12:47] So if I don't have to, I don't. [12:49] Oh, that's the easiest shot of all. [12:51] That would be done in one minute. [12:53] The island took four minutes. [12:54] That would. [12:55] The only thing I said, leave 50 yards around. [12:58] They wiped out everything. [12:59] I mean, it's wiped out. [13:03] It would take one plane, one minute. [13:08] That's all it would take. [13:10] When you do that, you start off. [13:13] That's a big statement to do that. [13:15] Now, you also have bridges. [13:17] You also have electric plants, which I think in many ways are worse because you can get the [13:22] oil open faster than you can build a new bridge or build a new electric plant. [13:28] But these guys should make a deal. [13:31] I mean, only crazy people would not make a deal. [13:34] But they should make a deal. [13:36] And President Xi would like to see a deal made. [13:39] He would like to see a deal made. [13:43] And he did offer, he said, if I can be of any help at all, I would like to be of help. [13:48] He did say that. [13:48] Yeah, he did say that. [13:49] And look, anybody that buys that much oil has obviously got some kind of a relationship [13:54] with him. [13:55] But he said, I would love to be of help. [13:57] If I could be of any help whatsoever, he'd like to see the Hormuz Strait open. [14:02] He said, if I could be of any help whatsoever, I would like to help. [14:06] What is complicated things probably the most is the top three-tier leadership is wiped out. [14:13] It's gone. [14:13] Now you have a fractured leadership. [14:15] Yeah, but I think we have people that are leaders. [14:17] I think they're much better than, I think they're much more reasonable. [14:20] You know, if you talk about regime change, that's the ultimate. [14:23] No, I said, that is serious regime change, right? [14:26] But the third tier that we're dealing with now, I think they're actually much more reasonable [14:31] and in many ways smarter than the first tier and the second tier who are no longer with us. [14:36] And why aren't they? [14:37] Why do they go forwards and backwards? [14:41] They make a deal and the next day, like we waited five days for a letter that should have [14:46] been there one hour. [14:49] I said, where's the letter? [14:50] They're having a lot of turmoil. [14:53] They got nothing but turmoil inside. [14:54] And it's an amazing phenomenon. [14:57] Nobody wants to be the president. [14:58] You know, it's like, they say, who wants to be president of Iran? [15:03] Anybody want to be president? [15:04] I don't want to be president. [15:06] But I've known you long enough to know you don't have infinite patience. [15:12] You have patience. [15:12] You're being patient. [15:13] No, I'm not going to be much more patient.
