quarter just what [3:42] on earth is happening mcdaniels picked up his third i'm just a dumb play like he just like grabbed [3:47] it was really dumb of him denver had everything they could possibly ask for mcdaniels and three [3:52] fouls okay let's do that too i owe to soon with those the story he goes insane tonight he had how many [3:59] points did he finish with a million get it up 43 43 points he had in this uh in this game and he [4:06] really got it going in the second quarter jamal stuffed rudy at the paint felt like a chain like [4:10] denver couldn't score for a while there that play felt like it swung things wolves used a challenge [4:15] lost it and then anthony edwards gets hurt actually i even missed di vincenzo getting hurt in the first [4:21] i even mentioned this he tore his achilles in the first he is one of their most important players [4:26] the glue that holds everything together type of player really good two-way player makes their [4:30] lineups work tore his achilles in the first and the second anthony edwards comes down [4:34] very similar to what happened to yoke earlier this year where hyper extension inverted knee bend [4:40] the only difference is anthony edwards jumped 40 inches in the air before his happened way worse [4:45] we'll have to wait and find out what happened to him i hope he's okay with everything because i'm [4:50] done with denver so now it's just like you know what they deserve to have their guy 54 50 nuggets at [4:55] the half the table set at this point for you to go out and seize this third quarter but instead the [5:01] wolves tie it up and eventually take a lead behind iota sunmu just doing whatever he wants in [5:06] transition in the half court from behind the arc at the rim getting wherever he wants nobody can [5:11] stop him ag goes back to the locker room nuggets in the bonus with six minutes to go surely they'll [5:17] go inside to nikola jokic julius randall gets three mike conley gets four fouls so you think it's [5:21] going to happen and then after only having one turnover up into that point the nuggets get back to back [5:27] unforced turnovers in the end of the quarter 82 78 wolves the wolves take the lead going into the [5:34] fourth quarter then the nuggets fall down eight and then eventually jokic comes back in at nine [5:38] minutes then they fall down 13 with seven minutes and 45 seconds to go and what happened in that [5:44] stretch gobert grabbing a bunch of offensive rebounds and them getting multiple shots at cracks [5:49] at it the clock's just ticking and they're not denver can't they're denver's getting stops but [5:53] they're not getting rebounds a murray three cuts it to nine and that's my last note here because the [5:59] truth is there weren't like key plays let down the stretch in this game there weren't key plays [6:03] it was one continuous lack of aggression a lack of knocking down shots lack of getting stops it was [6:12] just five six minutes of clutch time where denver didn't do anything that makes you proud of what they [6:18] what they did if they missed shots it'd be one thing you'd say like you know what they just it sucks [6:22] man how come they couldn't make shots they did not have any aggressiveness no going inside no no attack [6:28] and they couldn't get any stops the game ends up somehow not even close 96 112 let's go to our they've had some wild ones [7:57] um so i i do i cannot wait to hear from vote from the from the arena vote votes that i think is [8:04] in hell to be honest being there i don't know i would probably it on the timeline like i really do feel like i i understand the idea of a [8:54] team taking on the personality of their head coach like there's just no fight in this squad and i just [9:02] i can't wrap my head around it like they had every advantage in the world going into that second half [9:08] and the fact that they let it go but because they got so unbelievably soft they refused to go inside [9:15] they refused to use their advantage with nikoli okic and um they just took all these like they [9:20] weren't even getting to the rim i just the way that they they went out like i don't game was just so symbolic of a lot of this season and you know you [10:17] can try to talk yourself into them over the course of the year like i did and i feel like an idiot for [10:23] it because this is who this team is you know when it gets tight when it gets hard when it really [10:32] goes on the line they get soft and that's what they've done for most of this series [10:38] and it's just really tough to watch you know it's tough to watch nicole yokich do that because he has [10:46] been a disaster for a lot of this series it's tough to watch this team break down like they did [10:52] and it's it just changes what i think about this team and this organization and like they have talked [10:59] a big game all year they really have and even in these playoffs you think they have oh we're gonna [11:04] be okay we know we're okay that's not a big game though i thought okay i thought okay we're a [11:09] championship team you know we'll lock in on defense when we have to i don't even know if they've said [11:14] that let's just get healthy and we'll be okay yeah even yesterday christian brown says like we're a [11:22] championship team nobody's panicking david adelman after game three we just missed shots at the [11:27] beginning of this game they're like so out of touch with what's actually happening it's kind [11:34] of crazy but this team is just pathetic yeah my red [12:19] time i think is one of the most underrated games in nba history because he was horrible he couldn't make [12:25] a shot but you know what he did attacked every single position it was he was like if he was going [12:29] to lose he was going to lose on his terms in that game and everybody on his team was like man i'll go [12:35] to war with that guy he's just going he'll do whatever it takes this is not at all what we're [12:40] getting from nikola jokic in this series man they bring gobert off the floor for the last four minutes [12:45] of the third quarter it's winning time this is the most important part of the game he's running dribble [12:50] handoffs he's throwing fast break outlets that are risky to spencer jones he's looking for christian [12:55] brown on the perimeter it's just like what are you doing you're being guarded by julius randall [12:59] and naz reed there's nobody in there that can guard you not a foot in the paint not a single time [13:04] um you know it just was it's unfortunate that it doesn't nothing takes away one thing that i hate [13:11] is you go back and do revisionist history of the good things that happen and i just don't believe in [13:14] that teams win they win you know everything all the great playoff performances from yoke he's had [13:19] his back against the wall he's delivered in big moments he's had the best games against the [13:24] toughest competition he's done all of those things none of this washes it out but that doesn't wash [13:29] this out either this just happened in this series for three straight games he has looked passive i would [13:35] say a little timid but i don't even know if he's looked timid to be honest with you he's looked [13:39] passive it is dumb that the only time he actually showed some emotion in this entire series was running [13:45] at jade mcdaniels for clowning him and the team and it's like bro you can't do that this whole game [13:52] you had a chance to punch back and to put this team on your back and you're throwing dhos to spencer [13:56] jones it's like man this is not what it was about this was about you having to go and show your team [14:02] that you could put them on your back and he just didn't do it so unfortunately this happens with a lot [14:07] of great players there's only a handful that don't have a single one of these on their on their resume [14:11] but unfortunately i can't unsee what i saw from nikola yokich tonight and can't uh ever forget [14:17] the feeling i had of being in the foxhole it's your guy and you're like i just know he'll deliver [14:23] and him not only not delivering doing it so passively that you're like wow i i just don't [14:28] know what to make of it man i don't know that dust up at the end was it was so fascinating man [14:35] because you're totally right like yoke showed zero emotion all game not a lot of emotion all series [14:42] and then that and just with how this guy called you out in a post game and said you're a bum [14:49] and then he sunned you for two straight games for it what did you do it you know what it would have [14:53] sent him a message not letting him do that going and trying to get in his face i mean it's so dumb [14:58] to think that that is stepping up i couldn't even like come to the nuggets defense in that moment [15:03] i really couldn't of course i really like jane mcdaniels you you have the right to do that after how [15:09] these last two games have gone it was it was embarrassing you know for the nuggets for us like [15:14] for people who have championed him at every turn it's embarrassing he has so many moments to to show [15:23] that emotion right after he made the comment yoke could have tried to have a master class yoke could [15:28] have went after him right then and there like to start out the game of like we're here we're arriving [15:34] because i do think that he wants to rally his team it is not in that way when they are clearly [15:39] embarrassing you when they clearly just had one of their best wins in franchise history down you know [15:46] multiple guys in the game everyone thought that was over then they they rallied you know they had a [15:52] guy come off the bench and have a monster game the guy that called you out showed exactly why he called [15:59] you out um and and does that and when it comes to yokich right now like you're just you're shocked [16:06] to see what he's doing like his responses it's like the first time i'm sure that when mike tyson lost [16:12] you thought he was never going to lose you thought this was the baddest man in the world there was no [16:16] stopping him until you finally seen it happen now you're like multiple people are now coming out and [16:22] like you know like how is this happening when when i thought that he was untouchable yokich for once has [16:28] finally shown that he's not untouchable um that he's i mean he's being he's being handled right [16:34] now by d by rudy this this has been jarring yeah it's been really jarring um and i see to be honest [16:41] anthony edwards if he's out as i kind of anticipate hope not but anticipate d vincenzo's out the nuggets [16:46] could come back and win three in a row it just won't matter it won't wash out what i saw through the [16:51] beginning parts of this and that's what's so frustrating but it [22:08] kind of came in a lot of fake ways i think um and when it didn't matter anymore yeah i'm uh him and [22:15] tim hardaway jr by the way they just so they make so many um what's the opposite of winning plays when [22:22] it's like hey you got a box out your guy like when we were talking about when they were grabbing all [22:25] those rebounds he just there were so many of those plays tonight where it's like oh there's murray it's [22:29] that's murray's guy that is unencumbered to the basket for an offensive rebound yeah it was one of [22:34] those games from jamal where he's like well at least i got mine you know he he did make a lot of [22:39] plays that you know is not going to show up like on the highlight tape you know it's missing a lot of [22:47] of them i feel like they're attacking him so much they are on defense that is now like back to the the [22:54] key in um he's in every single action he's he's around the big man he gives up the switch very easily [23:01] and that's also starting to become his stamp in the playoffs he wants to be this playoff murray like [23:06] you know guy that reaches these levels offensively he also reaches very like low lows defensively in [23:13] the playoffs because he becomes the mark in every single way and in this game i felt like he was a [23:18] big part of why they were scoring so easily yes he's scoring and offensively i i do think that he [23:25] is going through something that no one else is besides yokich because he has gober on it but like [23:30] jayden mcdaniels is like on him he's aggressive he's hip checking them he's pushing them around [23:36] the entire time they switch another guy is willing to do that exact same thing where he doesn't get [23:42] many open looks he he doesn't get to see the mark every single time the same way that they do him and [23:48] that's something that's going to have to grow in his game but he he did step up the offensively he did [23:53] 30 points in a game in a playoff game you do need that so it is tough of him trying to find a rhythm [24:01] in a groove and also trying to get everybody else involved your point your point guard should be able [24:06] to get everyone else involved we have not seen a good game from camp we haven't seen a good game [24:10] from christian brown yeah yokich is struggling to get his who else around him is being able to go [24:15] with him it seems like it's just him on his own it is that's the problem it's like how do you get [24:20] these guys going when they don't want they don't have it in them like they don't have the heart to step [24:24] up like they're not looking for their shot they're taking bad shots like they're things that [24:29] like big shots that you need are just woefully short or hitting the side of the backboard or [24:36] just all this stuff where you're like bro how shook are all you guys like how can you all be this shook [24:41] it's insane um this is like a cultural rot to this team that i think the only guy i'm not going [24:46] to say a bad word about tonight not one word is aaron gordon correct nine points four of eleven he [24:50] wasn't even good going out there and just trying it really was like game seven against okc last year [24:56] where you know they just he he was out there in spirit but it was like physically he couldn't do [25:01] anything he made a couple unbelievable plays dude that block he had yeah oh man like just laying it [25:06] all out i can't believe the guys did that to ag i i know what i mean going back to my he risked his [25:12] career tonight by the way and somebody snapped their uh achilles in this game which is what you're [25:17] afraid of right and he's out there trying to make plays and you get that support from your key guys [25:21] crazy i know i call this team pathetic and soft and they have no fight i'm not talking about aaron [25:27] no he's in a different category i'm not talking about aaron gordon with that at all completely [25:30] different box for him with with aaron gordon for me i'm i'm not knocking aaron gordon i'm more pissed [25:38] off about adelman's decision of playing him the run came because aaron gordon was out there he could [25:45] not move they hit like three threes in a row while he was out there because he couldn't even make the [25:50] switch and once you saw that early on in the game it could have been like he could have been off the [25:55] bench and he could have been like in this small window to try to provide a spark not for the guy [26:01] that had to be out there and giving his all and he he just could not move he he definitely is a warrior [26:07] that wants to bring it but also put denver who already struggles with rotations and switches [26:13] and trying to put him in a bad spot i feel like they put him in the even worse spot and to see [26:18] other people get hurt i would have been like you got to come on like we gave it a try it's time to [26:23] get out of there he did you know he got that block he did try to provide a spark but i really do think [26:28] that this is more on adamant watching aaron gordon struggle to move out there yeah it was tough to [26:34] there really isn't anybody else but here um the bigger thing and i don't want to like if the [26:40] nuggets fall in this series as it appears they're going to there's just going to be a lot of time for [26:43] the offseason so i don't want to like skip ahead and do the offseason before it happens but this one [26:48] does feel to me the series in general feels like franchise altering i just don't the nuggets are [26:53] losing this series in a way that makes you think the formula is done like that it's like hey that [26:58] magic's gone the magic is gone from this team in a way that uh i think is kind of important and i [27:03] i will say this the nuggets if this is the end they will have died by tim conley and arturus [27:11] karnasovas it really will be conley for going to minnesota and creating this team and arturus for [27:16] gifting them io desumu for rob dillingham just like i will say at least we got under the tax though [27:22] but we are under the tax yeah we did that so sick um but it is kind of ironic that it was io who [27:27] arturus and even when that trade happened obviously we have our friends in chicago like [27:31] they haven't made trades in forever because they just sit down and then they make that one and [27:34] you're like all right please stop making trades go back to never trading again the most horrific [27:39] trades just like guys they felt like they couldn't resize kobe white also was a huge piece for [27:44] charlotte like yeah so it's insane but um tim conley and arturus karnasovas driving a nail through [27:51] the nuggets's heart it just does feel like you know whatever magic they have had coming off the [27:56] championship obviously it has completely worn off now and i mean i think looking back at the [28:02] regular season how bad they were in the clutch and just the overall spirit around this team is [28:07] is not what it used to be the body language throughout this series has been frightening [28:12] and even tonight in the second half those guys looked like they didn't want to be there for a lot [28:18] of it man and it's just it's the playoffs it's your rival you know you have a chance if you get past [28:25] minnesota maybe you you know you can push this like it's just it still is there on the table you [28:31] know before tonight probably and it just looks like they don't want it yeah um it's just tough [28:38] man it's tough like the nuggets uh the crazy thing is is again with the injuries that they have [28:44] sustained you really still could roll back now at the end aaron gordon does leave the sideline is he [28:48] going to be suspended probably doesn't matter i think he might based on what we saw tonight would [28:52] he even like try to give it a go in game five probably not but um that's the crazy thing is [28:57] that we're saying all this in a moment when the nuggets actually can and in any other circumstance [29:01] we actually would be talking about hey man two of three at home they're so short-handed now new game [29:07] plan it's just it wouldn't even feel right them coming back in this one like after after this it [29:12] would feel weird for them to come back and get a win yeah i mean i would take it i would take it too [29:18] and like i honestly wouldn't be surprised if they win this series losing aunt and dante di vincenzo [29:23] is like yeah that's the type of thing it's like you sustain an injury and like two days later you [29:28] like realize how bad it actually is right you know like they obviously you know they'll do mris and [29:32] stuff i mean i green like we've seen them come up big even in hopeless situations [33:27] because they have heart i there is a clearly and look this season it sucked and i think we [33:34] interpreted that solely as the injuries and i think we're seeing that it's possible it wasn't just the [33:40] injuries that made this happen it does feel like there is almost a cultural rot that has happened [33:44] to this [33:54] roster didn't have this or that it was yeah that team just didn't have the same fight that we're [33:58] used to them having in these moments and unfortunately we just don't know that until you get into this [34:03] situation but that's the thing i'm sitting here thinking as i'm watching this is just has the team [34:09] sort of lost things that we didn't notice until they got into this moment because i just know of [34:14] earlier version of this team would have gone out this sad none of them did they all some of them [34:19] went out but they went out like punching yeah the worst part about this is that there's still like [34:23] the thing you're you're just like you don't have aaron gordon you don't have peyton watson you don't [34:27] have like the two guys that you need for this series in the playoffs and at times this [35:46] season as well but i mean like his comments throughout this series so far have just been confusing yeah [35:54] it's really been almost like he's watching a different series than the rest of us and you [36:00] know going back to when they fired michael maloney he apparently was responsible for 90 maybe 90 of the [36:07] fight with this team a lot more than we gave him credit for even if we knew that was a big part of [36:13] what he brought and look his time was up here you know he had worn out you know his voice with this [36:19] team this version of this team but you know hiring david adelman the thinking was and i believed in [36:25] this thinking because i believed in this part of this team that they didn't need the rah-rah leadership [36:32] because this team was mature enough and professional enough to provide themselves and that was false [36:38] that was wrong this team was not mature and professional enough to do that they still need [36:43] somebody to keep them in line and david adelman is obviously not the guy to do that yeah um that [36:48] part of all those things like i said that's for the off season though because there will be time for [36:53] it um in the series though those guys being out if we try to squint for a silver lining on on all of [36:59] this if we like try and i'm not sure they deserve us to try to do this but if they if we squint the [37:04] nuggets are not they are lacking some things that are very loud and one thing about this landscape of [37:10] media now the social media and everything else where it just everything happens instantly and the [37:15] analysis of it happens instantly is the series isn't over but the the uh eulogy has already been [37:22] written and read and sometimes it's like what if you could attend your own funeral would that change how [37:27] you lived your life like right now we're having the they are actually bums they're this like even [37:32] us we know everybody is saying it i just the nuggets are not the team that they need to be to [37:37] win a championship but is there a chance that through great fortune a horrible luck for for [37:42] minnesota something you never wish on anybody but through that you now get three games to say hey [37:46] you actually should win all the next three games you actually should be favored in the next three [37:51] games and maybe those three games are just a miracle given to you to become the thing you need to [37:57] become i mean it's it's not off the table and it really is it's like uh scrooge uh getting to see [38:03] uh playoff future playoff past and playoff present and we're all mourning the denver nuggets and he's [38:08] like there's still there's still time yeah you boy what's the series three one yeah yeah this is one [38:16] of those uh christmas disney movies yeah where you you you oh you can die and you know the date of your [38:23] death so it's like looking at all of them it's like hey if you don't do something right now that's [38:28] that's your fate you go through each person's character and it's just like this guy is doing [38:33] this now beard and grow [39:08] the hair back out showed up at all with cam johnson being a scapegoat but also one of the weak spots on [39:14] the team there there's a lot that could be said about you and you're going to be able to hear that [39:19] and sit in your dirty diaper for the next couple of days but if it goes bad then you have all off [39:25] season to go through the the idea of what what does it look like next year so this is uh this [39:31] is a wake-up call and that was a good analogy of the like reading your eulogy and seeing who's gonna [39:36] arrive yeah i mean maybe or if what
