Jaxson Dart CRUMBLES When Pressed on Backlash to Trump Stunt

[0:00] all right we have an update on the story that will not go away jackson dart and abdul carter [0:05] met the media for the first time since this man spoke at donald trump's rally for republican [0:13] congressman mike lawler so here is jackson dart let's hear what he had to say when he gave a [0:21] written statement to the media appreciate y'all being here read a written statement um i understand [0:27] that um there's probably going to be questions that involve um off the field topics and um for that [0:38] um i have a statement and i hope um i can answer as many of those questions that y'all may have [0:44] and um i asked that um talk can you talk about football after that he does not want to do this [0:53] this is a guy you know what he sounds like he sounds like a live golfer after taking the [1:03] saudi money and goes i just want to talk about putting i mean dude dude this is all your own [1:11] undoing i know that's what you want to talk about we all know that's what you want to talk about [1:16] um you know we can understand and respect that from each other um you know obviously this was a unique [1:23] opportunity um you know being asked and um given the opportunity to introduce the president of the [1:32] united states no i okay hang on hang on hang on this is not a unique opportunity i'm going to tell you [1:41] why this is not a unique opportunity when someone is as unpopular as this current president as someone [1:49] who is making our lives that much harder just breathing living gas prices anything his approval [2:02] rating is in the toilet it is not a unique opportunity anybody if kid rock's career which [2:14] was doa can be revived by attaching himself to the trump train trust me trust me anybody could do it [2:29] if levy on bell and antonio brown can introduce him for a rally in pittsburgh trust me the starting [2:40] quarterback of the new york football giants is just fine you know my thinking was was pretty simple [2:47] um no and the fact of um you know i've always loved this country um i have extended family members who [2:55] have fought in wars all right all right i don't want to do this come on what does this have to do [3:03] and how is it being put into a defense mechanism for what you did what really gets me is we have seen [3:16] and we have even covered on this channel how john stewart attached his name and fought for veterans [3:22] to get health care which they should get and you know who held up those bills republicans you know who [3:34] called the dead suckers and losers according to the atlantic of veterans donald trump you know who [3:42] didn't want to go to a veteran cemetery because the rain would ruin his hair donald trump you know [3:49] who dodged the draft donald trump do you know who accepted a purple heart from a veteran which is just [3:57] distasteful donald john trump i don't want to hear this crap about inserting the military when you have a [4:07] party that could not be more anti-military and taking care of those who served and somehow they [4:16] are positioned as the pro-military party they don't care about those bodies what they care about is the [4:22] military industrial complex that's what they care about um i have two uncles who have retired from the [4:29] air force academy um and serve themselves um this doesn't matter for your defense father who served as [4:36] the secretary of treasury at some point so the president position has always been um a position [4:44] that i've well respected regardless of political affiliation if that is true by the way if you think [4:52] that then what you would do is denounce the current president depicting the former president barack obama [5:00] and the first lady as apes which is a racist trope you would denounce that if you do feel this way [5:08] that you are saying right now if you felt that way you would denounce birtherism who you really played [5:18] into and even said you were honored and privileged to introduce the man who brought that to the [5:24] forefront donald trump this is crap and it shows two things number one these statements when there is a [5:37] massive f up is on the part of the organization not the player you think he went out there sorry prior to [5:45] going out there wrote all this down or typed it up and goes yeah i'm gonna cook no it goes through [5:52] multiple people before it reaches his hands they think you are stupid they think you are gullible [6:02] enough to buy this don't regardless of um political party and um but that's the other part about this [6:11] sorry that's the other part about this because this is what as we covered yesterday boomer esiason tried [6:17] to do oh it doesn't matter political party all right some of you probably didn't like barack obama [6:23] and some of you probably didn't like joe biden the same way you didn't like donald trump [6:28] by the way not an obama stan not a biden stan what i am i'm going to be very clear about this [6:36] and i don't think this is the way but i am a harm reduction voter that is what i am i think if [6:43] zoran were to be eligible i would vote for him that is where my politics lie saying this though [6:54] at a time when we have a man who is protecting the epstein class a man who very well could be a pedo [7:05] a man who is a war criminal a man who per a judge was found to have raped eugene carroll you cannot [7:14] make this false equivalency of oh it's just differences of parties no i mean technically yes [7:22] technically yes but you can't put them on the same level playing field of morality which is [7:28] what he's trying to do right now and downplaying it my my intentions were were just that um i also [7:38] understand in in this world politics can be a sensitive matter a sensitive topic you think i [7:44] understand that i am the quarterback of the new york giants and that involves a lot of responsibility [7:51] um it's under a limelight under a microscope and um there's a lot that comes with that just get to [7:57] the point i've embraced i've loved being here i've loved the city of new york i love the the city of [8:02] new jersey the people that i've met here um did he did he just say city of new jersey something that [8:15] i've embraced i love being here i love the city of new york i love the the city of new jersey the people [8:20] oh my god god what is happening am i are we going crazy what's happening dude i might need a blunt [9:05] and spody ody after this what is happening you know trump did say i love the poorly educated [9:11] um it's just been a really interesting experience and there's not another place that i'd rather be [9:17] for sure dude you know most importantly um the people in this organization my teammates [9:22] um the staff um coaches everybody that has a hand um jose uh you name it you know i've loved um making [9:33] relationships with them and and growing connections who is jose that's the kind of person that i am i'm [9:39] a connector i love making relationships with people i love hearing everybody's stories oh my god dude [9:45] no you don't no you don't this is crap him saying this runs directly counter to the man [9:54] that he once more said he was honored and privileged to open for who basically called [10:00] anybody who was against him an enemy he wants to jail them he wants to imprison them he wants to [10:06] kill them but you oh no no you're different you're you're a humanitarian that's what you are hey i went [10:18] up here and i decided to say it was an honor and a privilege to open up for a fascist but you know [10:26] the thing is i love everybody who's buying this and um being somebody who you know people can can uh [10:37] i can't take this anymore i can't all right all right let's get to abdul carter this is just [10:42] horrible so abdul carter who posted above the a tweet showing that jackson dart was at the trump rally [10:54] here's what he said when he addressed the media yeah i'm just going to address this one time because [10:58] we all want to move past this and go over just like everybody do but first off i want to say that [11:03] some things are bigger than football and this is one of those things uh jackson is one of our leaders [11:08] he's the face of our franchise he not only represents himself and what he does but he represents all of [11:13] us and that goes for anybody who wears a giant's uniform but if he chooses to align himself with a man like [11:19] president trump it's my responsibility based on what i believe and what i stand on to not only show [11:25] my teammates that i'm against that but to show the world and that doesn't mean that we have to spread [11:31] hate it doesn't mean that me and jackson hate each other and we have beef i sit next to jackson every [11:35] day every team meeting we close we talk you know we just as long as we make sure we got the same goal [11:41] as a team and our goals aligned which they do i feel like that's all that matters so i just want to move [11:46] passes that was good in a in a time when there are so many who are be made and you know what i mean [11:59] when they will not stand on business one will say oh yeah i i put the i put myself before the team [12:08] i apologize to anyone i offended if i offended anybody i apologize to jackson i involved to the [12:15] tissues you know their co-owner is in the epstein fall i apologize to the maras i you know i apologize [12:24] to coach harbs i apologize no he didn't oh i love to see this and you could also read between the lines [12:33] here he said hey i need y'all to understand i have to do this right now i am still a team player and we [12:44] do have a goal which is to lift the lombardi trophy and win the super bowl but i also want you to know [12:49] i don't agree with any of that and i also don't think that i should be roundly criticized while he [12:56] gets a pass what he did was wrong who he opened up for was wrong but we can't have it being basically [13:06] a one-way street where i get the brunt of criticism and he gets none i don't agree with president trump [13:13] i don't agree with what jackson did this is a workplace you're not going to agree with everybody [13:20] i don't agree with him but i am a football player that's what he said man i appreciate it i really do [13:28] here's more with jackson dart um he was asked um potentially having issues with teammates here's [13:35] what he said i respect the question um i understand the question um you know my statements all that i [13:51] have um for you guys right now and um that's just that's that's where i'm at do you think you made a [13:58] mistake um like i i just gave my statement so um ask that you know we can all respect and understand [14:06] that's where i'm at right now they probably told him do not say anything glowing of donald trump [14:11] that's what they said even though his instagram activity as uncovered by midas news shows he [14:20] doesn't really care about anybody but being a white dude in america that is what his instagram [14:27] activity would show there's more um he would talk about uh abdul carter and saying oh we're brothers [14:34] blah blah blah abdul carter also had another good moment here that is no i don't i don't want to say [14:41] you sorry like stand on what you believe in but it can't be a problem when i stand on what i believe [14:45] in and that's all that matters to me just as long as we have that understanding it's all good that's
